Mandzukic responds positively to Man Utd proposal

With negotiations between Manchester United and Juventus currently ongoing for a swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku and Paulo Dybala, the idea of Mario Mandzukic has cropped up concretely in the deal.

While Lukaku has agreed personal terms with Juve and would appreciate the move, United are still holding talks with Dybala's agent and Fabio Paratici to agree terms with La Joya.

It is complex deal, especially since the British transfer deadline day is approaching. There was talk of Matteo Darmian and Blaise Matuidi being included in the deal, but the idea of Mandzukic being involved is very much concrete, we understand.

It is proceeding with much greater conviction than what was being proposed for Darmian and Matuidi as Mandzukic would want to join United and has responded positively to what United are proposing for the Croatian World Cup finalist.

United are working on a deal of around 10 to 15 million euros and while getting the Dybala-Lukaku swap over the line is a priority, progress is being made on the Mandzukic front as it is a separate deal.

Mandzukic is closer to United than he ever was and Dybala's situation hasn't changed- talks remain ongoing. It is complex deal.

United 'not interested in Mandzukic'

Manchester United are reportedly not interested in signing Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic.

Mandzukic had been drafted into negotiations between Juve and United over a proposed swap deal for Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku.

However, the Manchester Evening News argues that the idea of him joining the Red Devils is ‘unlikely’.

That is because Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are focusing on players aged 26 or under – reflected in their deals for Daniel James, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire.

The Croat, on the other hand, turned 33 in May and would also not fit into United’s ‘new, intense style of play with fluid forwards’.

Meanwhile, the English giants are continuing to press for Dybala, but the Argentine is having doubts about the transfer.

Mandzukic agrees Man Utd terms

Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic has reportedly agreed personal terms with Manchester United, separate from Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku.

The Croatia international has been in negotiations over the last few days, his future entering the conversation around the Dybala-Lukaku swap deal.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttomercatoweb, Mandzukic has agreed terms with Manchester United for a two-year contract with option for a third.

He’s set to earn €6m per season at Old Trafford and his price-tag is set at €15m.

The 33-year-old Croatia international was purchased from Atletico Madrid for €25m in 2015.

Last season, despite not always being first choice, he still scored 10 goals with seven assists in 33 games between Serie A and the Champions League.

Mandzukic on Bayern Munich radar

Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic is considering a loan move to Bayern Munich with option to buy after rejecting Manchester United.

According to multiple sources, he was all set for the Old Trafford transfer on deadline day for €15m only to turn down the switch.

Now Sky Sport Italia claim Juve are in advanced talks with Bayern for the Croatian to move on loan with either an option or an obligation to buy for €15m.

Das Bild, on the other hand, maintain it was Bayern manager Niko Kovac who suggested Mandzukic as a target, but the club hierarchy were unconvinced.

It would be a return to Bayern Munich for Mandzukic, who already played here from 2012 to 2014.

He is now 33 years old and only signed a new contract in April, tying him to Juve until June 2021.

Juventus star Mario Mandzukic will leave the club only at one cost - if only he joins Bayern Munich.

Mandzukic was close to leaving Juve to join Manchester United when the English transfer window was open but the move fell through after United failed to agree image rights fees with Paulo Dybala, which could've seen Lukaku come to Juve and Mandzukic go to Old Trafford with La Joya.

Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Mandzukic only wants Bayern and would only leave if the Bavarians come calling. While Dortmund have also tried, Mandzukic will not join them as he prefers Bayern over them.

Mandzukic would want a contract of 2-3 years in the next deal at the new club and would be happy with the salary that he currently earns at Juventus- 5 million euros a season.

He would like it if he ends up staying at Juve as he will not mind finishing his career at the bianconeri. But if Bayern do come calling, he will jump at the chance and join them.

Bayern yet to make Manduzkic offer

Mandzukic.Juve.2019.scudetto.356x237.jpg

FONTE

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are yet to make a formal offer for Mario Mandzukic, despite there being interest in signing the Croatian.

Mandzukic has been one of Bayern's most important players ever since he joined the club from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2015. Since then, he has won the Serie A four times and has also reached the UEFA Champions League final two times.

We understand that despite rumors suggesting a move to Bayern, the Bavarians are yet to make an official move for the Croatian- who was at the club from 2012 to 2014.

With around two weeks to go for the summer transfer window to end, Juventus want to sell the striker. Maurizio Sarri doesn't feel that he is part of his tactical plans, despite Massimiliano Allegri's liking for the player.

The real problem currently is Mandzukic's high salary- between 4 and 5 million euros per season (until 2021), scares many buyers and becomes an insurmountable obstacle for others. Mandzukic feels like a great champion, his 33 years do not undermine certainties and awareness.

Bayern Munich still want Mandzukic

Juventus forward Mario Mandzukic is still in talks for a return to Bayern Munich, even after they snapped up Philippe Coutinho.

The Bianconeri need to whittle down their squad, and with Paulo Dybala rejecting moves to Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, while Gonzalo Higuain now seems to be off the Roma wish-list, it’s down to Mandzukic.

Das Bild report that Bayern Munich are continuing negotiations for the 33-year-old Croatia international striker, who already played for the club from 2012-14.

He’d be available for €10-15m and Bayern should make room for him even if they have already secured Coutinho from Barcelona, on loan with option to buy.

“I can’t talk about a Juventus player,” Bayern Munich director and former Juve player Hasan Salihamidzic told Bild.

“Mandzukic is certainly my friend, as we played together at Wolfsburg, but I cannot say more than that.”

Bild: Bayern don't want Mandzukic or Emre Can

Bild:

https://www.football-italia.net/142286/bild-bayern-dont-want-emre-can

Aug 18, 2019

Das Bild insist that Bayern Munich are not interested in bringing back Juventus midfielder Emre Can or Mario Mandzukic.

The Bianconeri are busy trying to whittle down the over-sized squad, but finding it difficult to move players on.

Gonzalo Higuain is resisting all offers, as are Sami Khedira and Blaise Matuidi, while Mandzukic negotiations with Bayern appear to have broken down over a €10-15m transfer.

Now Bild deny reports from this morning’s edition of Tuttosport that German international Emre Can was heading to Bayern Munich.

“Our squad is now complete and we are not looking to make any other changes,” director Uli Hoeness told Sky Sport Germany.

Paris Saint-Germain remain an option, but the former Liverpool man could again be stuck on the Juventus books.

Mandzukic rifiuta il Psg: resta almeno fino a gennaio

Mario Mandzukic has reportedly turned down an offer to join Paris Saint-Germain and will remain at Juventus until at least January.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Goal.com and others, the Croatia international rejected the idea of moving to the Parc des Princes.

He became a firm target after injuries to Edinson Cavani and the on-going Neymar contract row.

However, it seems Mandzukic is not prepared to rush through such an important decision in the final days of the transfer market.

He risks being left off the Juventus squad for the Champions League, but seems determined to remain in Turin and reconsider his position in January.

Manchester United had made a bid earlier in the summer and there were also big money proposals from China.

The 33-year-old is under contract with Juventus until June 2021, having only signed an extension in April.

Mario Mandzukic is in advanced negotiations to leave Juventus for MLS club LAFC, claim Sky Sport Italia.

The striker was left out of the travelling party for Saturday’s Serie A match with Fiorentina, as he is awaiting a potential transfer.

While the offers from Qatar have been extravagant, particularly Al-Gharafa, La Gazzetta dello Sport and Calciomercato.it insist he is not interested.

The proposal that has genuinely intrigued Mandzukic is from Major League Soccer and in particular LAFC.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, the Croatian veteran is eager to accept the switch to Los Angeles.

Mandzukic seeks early Man Utd move

Nov 14, 2019

Juventus outcast Mario Mandzukic has reportedly chosen Manchester United and could move in December to start preparing for life in the Premier League.

The Croatian’s future could be resolved with a €10m transfer to Old Trafford in January, even if Calciomercato.com reports that Fabio Paratici would be willing to listen to offers from Tottenham and West Ham whilst in London during the international break.

Mandzukic was never in Maurizio Sarri’s plans and has been left out of the squad since the former Napoli man took the job in Turin.

With Juventus currently in need of €5.5m to avoid a capital loss on the player, they are still holding out for €10m, a reduction on last summer's €15m asking price.

Tuttosport claim he has already chosen a move to Manchester United, seeing this as the best place for an immediate return to first-team football during the second half of the season.

It is now suggested he would like to be training with the Red Devils already in December, which would give him time to settle in at Old Trafford.

Mandzukic played 25 matches in Serie A for Juventus last season, scoring nine goals in the League.

Mandzukic to Qatar on again?

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor mandzukic juventus

https://www.football-italia.net/147892/mandzukic-qatar-again

Dec 20, 2019

Mario Mandzukic could be playing in Qatar after all, as talks have resumed with Juventus about playing in the region.

The Croatian striker had been constantly linked with a move east after being told by Maurizio Sarri that he wasn’t in his plans at Juve.

Mandzukic had been linked to Al Rayyan and it seemed a deal was in place, only for talks to break down as Mandzukic wanted to stay in Europe.

However since then, Manchester United, who had been interested in the player, have moved on to other targets, as have Borussia Dortmund, leaving the Juve No 17 with few options.

Sky Sport Italia pundit Gianluca Di Marzio states that Al Rayyan have reopened talks with the Bianconeri about sealing a deal, and this time Mandzukic is thought to be willing to move.

Milan were also linked to Mandzukic, but his age goes against the club's new policy of focusing on younger players with resale value.

The 33-year-old hasn’t kicked a ball for Juventus this season.

He joined the club in 2015.

Mandzukic having Al-Duhail medical

Dec 22, 2019

Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic has reportedly been spotted in Qatar undergoing his medical with Al Duhail, the club he almost joined in the summer.

This would allow him to reunite with former Bianconeri teammate Medhi Benatia.

There had been strong reports the Croatia international was heading out to Qatar over the weekend to finalise his transfer.

Sky Sport Italia claim Juve will pocket €5m from the deal, while Mandzukic will earn €7.5m per season for 18 months.

Video has emerged seemingly of Mandzukic visiting the hotel and on his way to the medical centre.

He had also been linked with moves within Europe, to Manchester United and Milan, but Qatar always seemed a likelier option.

MLS was an alternative too for the 33-year-old, who was told from pre-season that he was not in new Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri’s plans.

He had joined the Bianconeri from Atletico Madrid in 2015 and leaves with 162 competitive games under his belt, in which he scored 44 goals and provided 18 assists.

Juventus are currently in Saudi Arabia, as they face Lazio for the Italian Super Cup today in Riyadh.

Mandzukic: Qatar deal off?

Dec 23, 2019

Mario Mandzukic’s proposed deal with Al-Duhail has reportedly broken down due to a difference in wages.

Mandzukic seemed to be finally leaving Juve, having been frozen out of their first team all season.

The former Croatia striker was left out of the Bianconeri’s Champions League squad and hasn’t played a minute of competitive football under Maurizio Sarri.

However, Tuttomercatoweb reports his deal with Al-Duhail could be in jeopardy and that he is on his way back to Italy.

The Qatari side had negotiated a €5m fee to sign the 33-year-old, but the website writes the two parties are in disagreement over personal terms.

Despite that, TMW suggests a deal could yet be struck to reunite Mandzukic with his ex-Juve teammate Medhi Benatia.

Dec 24, 2019

Through no fault of his own, this day was always going to happen for Mario Mandzukic thanks to the day that Maurizio Sarri was named Juventus’ manager. It didn’t matter if he scored 10, 15 or 20 goals in the preseason, Mandzukic’s fate was sealed once Juve went from having Max Allegri call the shots to Sarri and his up-tempo Sarrismo.

Once thought to be in July, it was then August. Then it became September even with the many of the majorEuropean leagues’ transfer deadline passing. Now, after four months of being frozen out of Sarri’s squad, Mandzukic is going to finally get the chance to play again.

As announced by Qatari side Al Duhail, Mandzukic has officially left Juventus after a less-than-acrimonious break up over the course of the last four or five months. Mandzukic, one of the most well-liked and most-respected players by his teammates and also the Juve tifosi, put pen to paper on a contract Tuesday with Al Duhail that has been reportedly worth as much as €12 million — ending any kind of talk that the move might be off due to a variety of reasons.

As of this post going live, Juventus has yet to announce anything on its official website or via its various social media channels.

Mandzukic, who will turn 34 in May, was a member of the second of the two Juve squads to make the Champions League final under Max Allegri. It was that season, around the midway point, where Allegri made the switch to the famed Five Star formation, one where Mandzukic was pushed out wide into a makeshift left winger and totally changed the look of how Juventus played. In that final, one Juventus eventually lost to Real Madrid, Mandzukic scored arguably the goal of the season, the bright light in what was other

In his 4 12 years with Juventus, Mandzukic scored a total of 43 goals in 159 games in all competitions.

What Mandzukic will be remembered most for is his simple style of play. He lived up to his Mr. No Good nickname, playing with the kind of effort and attitude that a lot of people probably wished more Juventus players had. His willingness to play out wide during a good portion of the Allegri years shows that the team came first and individual glory wasn’t a priority.

Then again, there are only certain folks who can have that kind of attitude in the fashion that Mandzukic and another fan favorite, Stephan Licthsteiner, had. They’re gems — and they were our gems.

Thank you for everything, Mr. No Good. You might have been grumpy, you might have been the kind of player we hated if you played against Juventus regularly, but you were also the kind of player that pretty much embraced the Juve spirit and made it so easy to root for you.

It just sucks that a player who gave so much to Juventus had to leave in this kind of fashion.

Juve, Mandzukic: 'Thanks to Allegri and Marotta, the last few months...'

Image may contain: text

Dec 25, 2019

Mario Mandzukic greets Juventus and the fans. The Croatian, officially announced by Al Duhail yesterday, took to Instagram to say goodbye to the black and white colours. A letter full of love and thanks, despite the rough months for the striker this season.

The 33-year-old was never a part of Maurizio Sarri's plan, which became evident this summer as Juventus tried to offload the striker. However, as the latter stayed, further clear signals arrived: Champions League list exclusion, in addition to zero minutes in the league.

In other words, it was time for Mandzukic to move on after four and a half years at the club. Although Man Utd seemed very interested in his services, he ended up at Al Duhail instead. Of course, the latter will most likely be very beneficial from an economic point of view.

On his official Instagram page, as mentioned, Mandzukic wrote the following message: “It's impossible to summarize four and a half years in a simple goodbye, but I hope you have seen my passion for this club and for this team in every single game I played for Juventus. A big thank you to Mr Allegri and Mr Marotta for wanting me in Turin.

"It has been a privilege to play for Juventus and the past few months will not change the respect and love I have for the club. I thank all the teammates I have had in these seasons - I really enjoyed every single battle with you and we have won most of these battles!

"I will not forget all the victories and trophies, the result of our quality, hard work and team spirit. A big thank you also to the staff who work behind the scenes - coaches, medical staff, physiotherapists and any other person who make sure that Juventus players are in the best conditions.

"Finally, the biggest thanks for the wonderful fans that are the real reason why the club is so big and successful - I really appreciated the support you showed me from day one. In conclusion, I have always tried to do my best for the Bianconeri, I wish you the best! And for me, it's time for a new chapter ... Forever yours, Mario".

Mandzukic joins Al-Duhail

La Juve saluta Mandzukic: 'Grazie Mario' il COMUNICATO

Dec 30, 2019

Mario Mandzukic has officially joined Al-Duhail after terminating his contract with Juventus. “This is one of the biggest clubs in Asia.”

The striker is a free agent after reaching an agreement to terminate his contract with the Bianconeri by mutual consent this week.

He arrived in Doha today this evening to complete the transfer and was photographed holding up the scarf of his new club.

“I am preparing for the beginning of a new chapter in my football career with one of the biggest clubs in Asia,” Mandzukic told the Al-Duhail website.

“I will work with my new teammates to help the team achieve its goals.”

The 33-year-old Croatia international did not play at all for Juventus this season, as he was not part of their plans.

He made 126 competitive appearances for Juve, scoring 44 goals, since he arrived from Atletico Madrid in July 2015 for €23.5m.

Mandzukic: 'A warrior all my life'

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor mandzukic al-duhail qatar

Jan 2, 2020

Mario Mandzukic admits “not playing was something new for me, but I’ve been a warrior all my life” as he leaves Juventus for Al-Duhail.

The Croatia international has now signed for Al-Duhail SC in the Qatar Stars League and held a presentation press conference.

“I had plenty of time to reflect on all the offers that I received and my long professional career in Europe made me think seriously about seeking another environment to continue working,” said the 33-year-old.

“I want to thank the Al-Duhail Sports Club, because I’ve had a wonderful few days so far and received help from them both on and off the field. I immediately felt at home and that’s a very good sign for me.

“I also got to see Medhi Benatia again, who is a marvellous player and person. His presence here is very useful for me.”

Mandzukic has not played since May 2019, as he was cut out of the Juventus squad by new coach Maurizio Sarri, not taken into consideration even after refusing summer transfers.

It was an unfortunate end to the experience in Turin after four-and-a-half years.

“Not playing was something new for me, but I’ve been a warrior all my life, so I fought hard to stay in shape. Obviously, I need to get to know my teammates, but I do feel good and kept myself on form,” noted Mandzukic.

“I don’t like to talk about the past, so let’s look to the future. I said everything I wanted to on social media and don’t want to repeat myself.”

The Croatian did reject suggestions he clashed with Cristiano Ronaldo in training.

“Everyone knows he is an incredible player and works so hard on improving himself. I really enjoyed playing with him, as we understood each other perfectly.”
