Report: Dani Alves to Juventus?

http://www.football-italia.net/84940/report-dani-alves-juventus?

May 25, 2016

Cadena Ser claim Dani Alves will leave Barcelona as a free agent to sign a three-year contract with Juventus.

The 33-year-old right-back is tied to the club until June 2017, but the Spanish radio station insists he has agreed to terminate the deal early.

The Brazilian has been at Camp Nou since 2008 and this season contributed one goal and eight assists in 48 competitive games.

However, Mundo Deportivo immediately hit back with assurances Barcelona had denied the deal.

This report comes hot on the heels of another claim this morning that Javier Mascherano would be joining Juventus, quickly denied by Barcelona.

Sky Sport Italia and their usually very reliable pundit Gianluca Di Marzio maintain Juventus interest in Dani Alves and Mascherano is very real and negotiations are on-going.

In their view, the deal with Dani Alves is for two years with the option for a third, while he would be able to free himself via a clause in the Barcelona contract.

Spanish reports note the clause is only valid before June 5, which is why Juve are acting quickly.

Barcelona Transfer News: Juventus Reportedly
Agree on Dani Alves Contract

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2642403-barcelona-transfer-news-juventus-reportedly-agree-on-dani-alves-contract?

May 25, 2016

Barcelona star Dani Alves has reportedly agreed to a three-year deal with Juventus, and he's set to join the Bianconeri on a free transfer this summer.

That's according to Spanish outlet Cadena Ser (h/t Marca), which reported on Wednesday that Barcelona wouldn't make any money on the deal but would save roughly €8 million in wages, which they could use to invest in either new arrivals or improved contracts for other star players.

Fabrizio Romano of Sky Sport reported the proposed deal is through 2018 with an option to extend an additional year.

Alves has been with the Catalans since 2008 and ranks among the team's most decorated players, having won six Primera Division titles and three UEFA Champions League trophies.

The 33-year-old proved he's still among the best full-backs in the world during the 2015-16 campaign, registering three assists in the Champions League, per WhoScored.com. While he has always relied heavily on his athleticism, his positional play has improved in the last few years, and he easily maintained his grip on the starting position with Barcelona.

ESPN FC's Janusz Michallik likes the move from both Alves' and Juventus' perspectives:

Janusz Michallik ✔ ‎@JanuszMichallik
Smart move from Dani Alves and Juve.

Mundo Deportivo (h/t Football Italia) reported Barcelona have denied the move, but a host of other Spanish outlets have detailed the transfer. Among those is Sport, which explained how Alves could leave on a free transfer despite still being under contract:

When he renewed last year, Alves sealed a deal with the Catalan club which would allow him to abandon them without the need for any type of negotiations or economic compensation. It's a clause which freed him up to manage a large list of offers. In the end, he’s gone for the proposal put forward by Juve.

The last contract renewal signed by the Brazilian was a nightmare and a long soap opera. Alves agreed to sign an extension, but he managed to include a clause which he could use to leave the club and free him from the second year of a two-year deal.

Per Sport, Sandro Ramirez used a similar clause. The report also suggested the money the club would save could go toward securing new deals for Luis Suarez, Neymar and Lionel Messi. Without money coming in through new sponsors, the club can't improve its top stars' contracts, per Yahoo Sports' Guillem Balague. Santi Gimenez of AS detailed in October 2015 that UEFA's financial fair play rules, a club statute and the Professional Football League's wage cap have combined to hamstring the Blaugrana.

La Liga blogger Rafael Hernandez wasn't surprised when he heard the news of Alves' possible departure:

Rafael Hernández ‎@RafaelH117
No big secret behind what Barcelona are doin, just freeing the wage bill as its a necessity, no obscure reasons or surprise signings.

Alves is a superb fit in Juventus' 3-5-2 formation, which relies heavily on attacking wing-backs with excellent range. Stephan Lichtsteiner is the team's top option on the right wing, and he and Alves would make for a fantastic duo.

Juve manager Massimiliano Allegri wants his team to have depth above everything, and he frequently rotates his players. On the left wing, Alex Sandro and Patrice Evra easily coexisted during the 2015-16 campaign, so there's no reason to believe Alves and Lichtsteiner wouldn't do the same.

The departure of the Brazil international would be a major blow for Barcelona, who don't have a quality backup at the position. Alves was one of the unsung heroes of the 2015-16 season and has developed fantastic chemistry with Messi.

The Catalans would likely look for his replacement on the transfer market unless Aleix Vidal can convince manager Luis Enrique he's the right man for the job. Douglas has barely made an impact for the club since joining from Sao Paulo in August 2014, and there are no prospects in the academy ready to take the next step.

Expect the rumours surrounding Arsenal full-back and former Barcelona youth-team player Hector Bellerin to intensify. The Spaniard has pledged his allegiance to the Gunners on multiple occasions, per Goal (h/t Sport), but with the starting position seemingly his for the taking, he might find it hard to turn down a move if his boyhood club were to come calling.

Reports: After Javier Mascherano, now
Dani Alves named as a Juventus transfer target

http://www.blackwhitereadallover.com/2016/5/25/11776234/dani-alves-barcelona-juventus-2016-serie-a-la-liga-summer-transfer-rumors

May 25, 2016

Talk about a day where transfer rumors dominate our topic of conversation. First we heard reports of Juventus' interest in Barcelona's Javier Mascherano. Now, just mere hours after those Mascherano rumors, one of his longtime Barcelona teammates, Dani Alves, has been heavily linked with a move to Turin as well.

Mascherano, Alves ... Leo Messi? Yeah?

Nah, we won't go there. But I will provide you with the headline that I saw when I clicked onto the front page of the AS English page as I prepared to write up this post.

Alves says 'Adios' to Barcelona

Well, well, well. That's certainly something that would catch your eye knowing how he's been one of Barcelona's big players for the better part of the last decade. And then once you make one more simple click...

Dani Alves to leave Barcelona on a free transfer to Juventus

This isn't just some Spain-driven rumor, either, folks. You can venture over to any of the big Italian sport newspapers or transfer reporters and there's going to be Dani Alves' face right there in the center of everything. Not everybody is mentioning this free transfer part, but Juventus moving for the recently-turned 33-year-old Brazilian is the thing just like a move for Mascherano was a thing at the beginning of the day.

The two main questions I have is pretty simple: How does Alves fit into Juventus' puzzle? And how much does he actually have left in the tank?

Whether Dani Alves viewed as a Juan Cuadrado-like addition to the squad or something different entirely, if this does happen, it's a pretty good sign that Juve are truly prioritizing the Champions League more than in previous transfer windows. Mascherano and Alves have won what seems like hundreds of trophies during their time at Barcelona. And seeing as they would both be short-term additions, European success is what Max Allegri and the rest of the Juventus management so desires.

Plus, we know Beppe Marotta loves himself some free transfers. And if Alves is available for free, you know Beppe had to at least make a phone call to talk things over. That's just how he rolls.

Juventus 'have Dani Alves deal'

http://www.football-italia.net/84949/juventus-have-dani-alves-deal?

May 25, 2016

Multiple reports claim Dani Alves will sign a two-year contract with Juventus, leaving Barcelona for free due to a special clause.

The 33-year-old Brazilian right-back had already been on the verge of leaving Camp Nou last season, but suddenly extended his deal by another two years.

According to As, Cadena Ser and Sky Sport Italia, this deal was done with a special clause allowing Alves to walk away for free before June 5.

Barcelona in turn would not stand in his way, as his wages weigh on the books and his replacement has already been snapped up in the form of Aleix Vidal.

The report emerged at first via Cadena Ser on Wednesday evening and spread rapidly, despite Barcelona sources denying the story via Mundo Deportivo.

Unlike the Juventus bid for Javier Mascherano mooted this morning, Dani Alves does appear to be available as a free agent.

Spanish paper As claims Alves told Barcelona teammates and directors of his decision during Sunday’s end of season celebration.

While the Spanish reports suggest he has agreed a three-year contract with Juventus, Sky Sport Italia believe it is two years with the option for a third.

Multiple sources insist only an announcement is missing before this move to Turin can be completed.

Juventus eye Barcelona's Dani Alves on free transfer

Goal understands a clause in the Brazilian right-back's contract at Camp Nou
could allow him to depart Catalonia a year before his deal is officially due to expire.

Juventus are trying to sign Barcelona star Dani Alves on a free transfer.

Goal understands there is a clause in the right-back's contract that allows him to leave Camp Nou a year before his deal is due to expire.

Juventus, who are also in contact with Barcelona's Javier Mascherano, have held talks with Alves and are considering offering him a two-year contract with the option of a third year.

Having won their fifth consecutive Scudetto this season, the Bianconeri will prioritise the Champions League next term and are therefore looking to add experience to their squad.

They are also likely to be in the market for a right-sided wide player who can play both in a back four and at wing-back as Juan Cuadrado is set to return to Chelsea.

Alves has faced speculation over his future in Catalonia over the past couple of years but played 48 matches in all competitions as Barcelona won a league and cup double this season.

Dani Alves set for Juventus

The summer transfer window will be opening before you know it, and rumours around the world
are picking up. As always, Transfer Talk has its finger on the pulse when it comes to the latest gossip.

http://www.espnfc.co.uk/blog/transfer-talk/79/post/2880494/saul-niguez-the-latest-on-manchester-united-hit-list

May 26, 2016

Barcelona right-back Dani Alves could be set to end his glittering spell at the Camp Nou with Juventus ready to hand the Brazilian a three-year deal to come to Turin on a free transfer, according to Cadena Ser.

The Blaugrana made a dramatic u-turn last season to extend the 33-year-old's stay for an eighth campaign, with Alves playing a key role as Luis Enrique's troops secured the double to back up last season's treble.

It would represent quite the coup for the Bianconeri who appear to be knocking on the door of another serious assault on the Champions League after ironically being downed by Barcelona in the final two season ago.

Six Liga crowns and a king of Europe on three occasions amongst other trophies has made Alves one of football's most decorated players and joining up with Massimiliano Allegri will likely only add to his legacy.

Agent: ‘Juve contact for Alves’

http://www.football-italia.net/84966/agent-%E2%80%98juve-contact-alves%E2%80%99

May 26, 2016

Barcelona defender Dani Alves’ agent says ‘it’s true Juventus have made contact’ but ‘there hasn’t been an official offer.’

Reports broke last night that the Old Lady had a two-year deal in place for the Brazil international.

Agent Santa Ana da Silva Dinorah denied that an agreement is set in stone, but didn’t rule out the transfer going ahead further down the line.

“It’s true that Juventus have contacted me,” he told Calciomercato.it.

“But there hasn’t been any official offer from the Bianconeri.

“There’s an interest in Dani and obviously Juve aren’t the only club that are following him attentively.

“The clause? I can’t reveal the details of the agreement with Barcelona, that’s confidential.

“Anything could happen, absolutely.”

How Barcelona Duo Dani Alves and
Javier Mascherano Would Fit Juventus

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2642501-how-barcelona-duo-dani-alves-and-javier-mascherano-would-fit-juventus?

May 26, 2016

Even as a champagne-soaked Juventus left the field at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico last Saturday with their domestic superiority firmly underlined, thoughts had already turned to improving this all-conquering side ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.

“We’ve now won three trophies this season, an achievement which leads me to thank the players, the club and the fans, who’ve been extraordinary again tonight,” coach Massimiliano Allegri told a press conference moments after seeing his side add the Coppa Italia to the league title and Supercoppa Italiana they had already won.

“We now look forward to the next campaign which will present new challenges, namely the fight for a sixth straight Scudetto, retaining the Coppa Italia and performing well in the UEFA Champions League,” he added, and it is the latter that seems to now be the focus of Bianconeri attention.

Despite beating Manchester City home and away, Juventus failed to top their group in Europe’s elite competition and were subsequently drawn against Bayern Munich in the last 16, inexplicably throwing away a second-leg advantage to be eliminated by a 6-4 aggregate scoreline.

It seems the club’s management team have wasted little time in looking to improve the options available to Allegri, with various reports linking the Turin giants with moves for Barcelona duo Dani Alves and Javier Mascherano.

Indeed, according to AS, Cadena Ser, Sky Sport Italia and a number of other outlets (h/t Football Italia), the Brazilian wing-back will sign a two-year contract with Juventus, as his current contract contains a clause that allows him to leave Camp Nou on a free transfer.

His Argentinian team-mate may well join him, with Spanish newspaper Sport (h/t Eurosport) among those insisting Mascherano will sign a three-year contract with Juventus once the transfer window opens.

It is fairly obvious where Alves would fit into the side, with many reports—including this one from the Guardian—believing that the Bianconeri will lose Juan Cuadrado when the loan deal that brought him to the club from Chelsea expires.

OptaPaolo ✔ ‎@OptaPaolo
158 - Dani Alves made 158 crosses open in 2015/16, at least twice as many as any other teammate. Wing.

That would leave Juve with only Stephan Lichtsteiner as cover on the right flank, and Alves would provide a similar attacking edge to the Colombia international. He notched seven assists in all competitions this term, with his Champions League tally of three more than any current Juventus player could muster.

While the deal to sign Mascherano appears far more complex, his role in the team would be equally as demanding. The Old Lady is not short of star power in both midfield and central defence, but the former West Ham United man could provide a high-quality alternative to both Claudio Marchisio and Leonardo Bonucci.

Evidently comfortable in the middle of the park, Mascherano could fill in for the former, a position Juve have tried in vain to fit Hernanes into this term, and the squad contains no real alternative to Bonucci when Allegri fields a three-man defence.

As he has increasingly done in recent seasons, the 31-year-old played the vast majority of games at the back this term, with WhoScored.com noting that 34 of his 40 appearances in 2015/16 came as a central defender.

Calm in possession, the same source shows he connected with 90.1 percent of his 78.5 pass attempts per game in the Champions League, meaning he could build play just as Bonucci has done under both Allegri and his predecessor, Antonio Conte.

Mascherano’s presence would almost certainly ensure that the Bianconeri do not suffer from the lack of direction that blighted their Coppa Italia performance, a game both Bonucci (suspended) and Marchisio (injured) were unavailable for.

Juventus would still need to add a creative midfield player as discussed in this previous post, but there is little doubt that the Barcelona pair would add valuable European experience to a team determined to make progress in all competitions next term.

Reports: Juventus closing in on signing
Dani Alves on a free transfer

http://www.blackwhitereadallover.com/2016/5/26/11782718/reports-juventus-closing-in-on-signing-dani-alves-on-a-free-transfer

May 26, 2016

There are some moves that come out of nowhere, seemingly catch our attention in what seems like a week or two before they happen. There are other moves that seem to take weeks even to have one semblance of progress, the end result prolonged over weeks and weeks of the same reporting we've heard from the very beginning.

This Dani Alves-to-Juventus deal, it's definitely the former, not the latter.

According to multiple reports coming out of both Italy and Spain, the longtime Barcelona fullback is closing in on a move to Juventus on what will end up being a free transfer. Those same reports say that Juve will hand the 33-year-old Brazilian a two- or three-year contract and that a signing could very well be announced in short order. As of right now, no concrete financial terms have been thrown out there when it comes to how much Alves would be making at Juventus if he were to put pen to paper on a contract with the five-time defending Italian champions in the neat future.

As the folks over at SB Nation's home for all things Barcelona, Barca Blaugranes, say: "The announcement is all that's left, but one thing is certain: Dani is leaving Barça."

All signs point to that indeed being the case.

And all signs point to his next destination for club football being Juventus.

This is not something we expected to have happen even a few days ago. Just like the rumored Javier Mascherano move on Wednesday, once it hit the news outlets, the damn thing spread like a wildfire with Italian media members freely pouring gasoline on it. (Figure of speech, of course.) The Thursday morning papers didn't include much of anything new regarding the matter, only confirming what has taken place over the last 18 hours or so.

Yep, Juventus are indeed interested in signing Dani Alves. And, if the reports are to be believed, the wait to see it happen won't be as long as some other deals we've seen Juve make in past summer transfer windows.

Juventus chief hints at Dani Alves deal
but dismisses Mascherano links

The Barcelona duo have been linked to the Serie A side and the director has suggested
a move for the Brazilian is possible, but the links to the Argentine are just rumours.

http://www.goal.com/en/news/11/transfer-zone/2016/05/26/23941772/juve-chief-hints-at-dani-alves-deal?ICID=TP_HN_1

May 26, 2016

Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta has strongly indicated the club will try to sign Dani Alves, but played down links with his Barcelona team-mate Javier Mascherano.

The Serie A and Coppa Italia winners have been tipped to move for the Camp Nou duo, as they prepare to challenge for a sixth consecutive Scudetto in 2016-17.

Full-back Dani Alves is under contract until the end of next season, but Goal understands he could leave for free this year and the Bianconeri are hoping to snap him up.

Mascherano has a deal with Barca running until the end of 2017-18, though he is ready to consider leaving now as his desire to play in midfield remains unfulfilled.

Marotta stopped short of confirming the move, but suggested the club will attempt to engineer a deal.

"Dani Alves and Mascherano to Juventus? Nothing is done. I can neither confirm nor deny," he told reporters.

"Dani Alves is not our player but he's an important player. We'll see what we could do considering that Juventus can compete in all competitions.

"Mascherano? That's media speculation."

According to TV3, Dani Alves' agent Dinorah Santa Ana denied negotiations are underway but claimed contact had previously been made with Juventus.

Juve meanwhile face a battle to keep striker Alvaro Morata, with Real Madrid expected to activate a buy-back option they hold on the Spain international.

"He's a talent, he's becoming a champion," Marotta said.

"We will do all that we can to keep him at Juventus. We will meet Real Madrid after the Champions League final."

Barcelona's Dani Alves has not agreed
Juventus move yet - agent

http://www.espnfc.co.uk/story/2880697/barcelonas-dani-alves-has-not-agreed-juventus-move-yet-agent

May 26, 2016

Dani Alves' agent has confirmed she has met with Juventus but there is currently no agreement with the Serie A champions for the Barcelona right-back to leave the club.

Alves, 33, has been linked with a summer move away from Barcelona this summer, with Cadena Ser reporting he was set to join Juventus.

The Brazilian's agent, Dinorah Santana, said in Marca: "It is not true that there is any type of agreement. Dani has not settled anything with anyone and right now he is in Brazil and his main focus is on preparing with the national team.

"It is true that I have met with Juventus, but not only with them. I have also met with Turkish clubs, with one from England and another from France.

"There is no type of offer, we have nothing to evaluate. If there had been any type of offer first we would have to evaluate it and then if it seems to me a reasonable offer, I would mention it to Dani."

Regarding any type of clause in his current terms at the Camp Nou, Santana said: "That is confidential. We don't discuss details of that nature."

Meanwhile, Juventus director Beppe Marotta has spoken highly of Alves and his Barca teammate Javier Mascherano, who has also been linked with a switch to Turin.

Marotta said: "We don't own Alves, but he is a great player. Let's see what we can do. Mascherano? We've not done anything yet so I'm neither going to confirm nor deny it."

Regarding the future of striker Alvaro Morata, who has been linked with a return to Real Madrid, Marotta said: "He's a talent who is becoming a champion.

"He's grown a lot and we are going to try everything we can to keep him in Turin. The buy-back clause is like the sword of Damocles. We're going to meet Real after the Champions League final."

The Juve director also confirmed Domenico Berardi is set to sign from Sassuolo, adding: "He's a great talent and we have a verbal agreement with Sassuolo. We have a moral right to sign him and I think we're going to define this transfer."

Alves returns Cuadrado to Chelsea

http://www.football-italia.net/84989/alves-returns-cuadrado-chelsea?

May 26, 2016

Dani Alves’ proposed move to Juventus is reportedly due to Chelsea’s unwillingness to deal for Juan Cuadrado.

It was reported last night that the Old Lady have a deal in place to bring the Brazilian wing-back to Turin on a free transfer, due to a clause in his Barcelona contract.

Alves’ agent insisted today that no deal had been done, but Calciomercato insists that everything is in place for the move, with only the official signatures required.

The website believes the Bianconeri turned to Alves after failing to secure Cuadrado on a permanent basis from Chelsea.

The Colombian has spent the season on loan in Turin, alternating with Stephan Lichsteiner at wing-back or playing in his more natural right-wing position.

It’s thought the €20m fee demanded by Chelsea was considered excessive, and incoming manager Antonio Conte is known to be an admirer of Cuadrado.

Given that Coach Max Allegri’s favoured formations have been 3-5-2 and 4-3-1-2 during his time in Turin, Alves is a better fit, as he can play right-back in a back-four, or wing-back in the 3-5-2.

Alves and Mascherano still at the top

Juventus are reportedly close to signing Dani Alves and Javier Mascherano.
Euan McTear believes both players are still in their prime.

http://www.football-italia.net/84993/alves-and-mascherano-still-top?

May 26, 2016

Between them, Dani Alves and Javier Mascherano have won over 50 titles in their careers. That is before you count individual honours, of which they also possess a few, from Alves’ five appearances in the FIFA World XI to Mascherano’s 2013-14 Barcelona Player of the Season award. These are the success-hungry players Juventus are to sign this summer if the various reports linking them with a move to Turin are to be believed.

Right-back Alves and centre-back-cum-defensive-midfielder Mascherano could certainly have secured more financially rewarding moves to China, Qatar or the US, but both still believe they can be competitive at the top level with the Bianconeri. Alves and Mascherano are still bursting full of talent and energy, demonstrated by the fact they played the eighth and fourth most minutes, respectively, of the Barcelona double-winning squad this season.

They may both be getting older, with Dani Alves now 33 and Mascherano turning 32 in June, but the only noticeable effect of their ageing is a slight drop off in pace. In a Barcelona team that plays a high defensive line and that expects its full-backs like Alves to bomb up and down the wing for 90 minutes that did prove a problem at times last season. Alves sometimes struggled to transition from attack to defence quick enough, while Mascherano too often found himself having to slide tackle opposition forwards from behind because he wasn’t quick enough to catch up with them, most recently resulting in a red card in the Spanish cup final. In Serie A, however, the slower pace of the league and the fact Juventus’ backline sits deeper than Barcelona’s should suit their slower game, something Patrice Evra discovered when he joined in 2014.

Besides their declining pace, these remain two of the best defenders in world football. Nobody transitions a team from defence to attack as well as Alves, who can work his way up the right flank with one-two passes to his nearest midfielder like two mountain climbers joined by rope and taking turns to lead the ascent. He had more Champions League assists this season than any other defender and more than any Juventus player.

Mascherano, meanwhile, is positionally excellent and his anticipation of the opposition’s next pass is scarily good, demonstrated by the fact that he made more interceptions than any other Barcelona player last season. He is also an accomplished passer and made more successful passes than any other La Liga defender in 2015-16, with a third best pass accuracy of 90%. Add to that the fact he is a fierce competitor, one who even tore his anus to make a last-ditch sliding tackle on Arjen Robben to help his side to the 2014 World Cup final, and he is the complete package.

Mascherano’s versatility will also be useful to Juventus. He has become one of the world’s best centre-backs at Barcelona, but his natural position is in central midfield and he can play in both. He is unlikely to start ahead of Claudio Marchisio and Leonardo Bonucci in defence, but can fill in for the duo, while also contributing in the centre of the park.

If Juventus can indeed pull off these two signing, they will be adding two proven winners to their already competitive squad. It would be the ultimate statement of intent.

Juve in new Dani Alves talks

http://www.football-italia.net/85036/juve-new-dani-alves-talks?

May 27, 2016

Sky Sport Italia claim Juventus had more talks with Barcelona full-back Dani Alves today.

According to pundit Gianluca Di Marzio, today Bianconeri director Fabio Paratici called the Brazilian’s entourage for telephone negotiations.

Juve are also known to be interested in his Barcelona teammate Javier Mascherano.

Although Barcelona continue to issue denials via the media, the reports remain consistent that Juventus plan a double swoop this summer.

Dani Alves reportedly has a clause in his contract allowing him to walk away for free before June 5.

Dani Alves to Juventus done

http://www.football-italia.net/85098/dani-alves-juventus-done

May 29, 2016

Multiple sources in Italy and Spain assure Dani Alves will sign a three-year contract with Juventus.

The deal is expected to be made official within days, as his option to terminate the Barcelona contract early expires on June 5.

Juve are set to pay the Brazilian full-back €5m per season plus bonuses.

Some say the contract is for three years, others that it is two with the option for a third.

It is a coup to get Alves as a free agent, even if he has just turned 33.

Juventus are also interested in his teammate Javier Mascherano, but it's reported Barcelona want €30m and the offer won't go above €20m.

May 30, 2016

According to multiple reports in Italy, Dani Alves could be on the verge of completing a move to Juventus this week.

RAI Sport and giornalaccio rosa dello Sport both report the deal as all-but complete with the Brazilian full-back agreeing a move to Turin. All that’s missing is the official announcement.

Alves reportedly has a clause in his deal with Barcelona which allows him to terminate his contract early, provided it is exercised before 5th June, thus allowing him to leave as a free-agent.

The Brazilian will sign a two-year deal with Juventus, earning close to €3.5m a season, with an option for a third year included in his contract.

giornalaccio rosa also report that Alves’ wife will agreed a deal with a modelling agency in Milan, while CalcioMercato Alves has started house-hunting in Turin.

Barcelona full-back Dani Alves will join Serie A winners Juventus this week on a two-year contract, Goal can reveal.

The 33-year-old is expected to earn around €4 million-per-year during his stay in Turin, with the option of an additional year inserted into his contract.

The marauding right-back brings with him a wealth of international experience, having won 89 caps for his country, and is highly regarded by Massimiliano Allegri, who is eager to stamp his authority on Europe.

Alves, who joined the Blaugrana from Sevilla in 2008, will arrive with considerable UEFA Champions League exposure, having lifted the European Cup on three occasions in 2009, 2011 and 2015.

Wing-back Stephan Lichtsteiner has a contract at the club until 2017 and is unlikely to depart the Old Lady of Italian football following the Brazilian's impending switch, with Juan Cuadrado tipped to join former manager Antonio Conte at Chelsea this summer.

Juve will also offer Alves' team-mate Javier Mascherano a two-year deal, however the option of a third will not be included. The Argentine defender is keen to move to the Italian north and talks with his agents have gone smoothly, but an agreement with Barca is still yet to be met.

The European heavyweight clubs enjoy a great working relationship and Juve are hesistent to stretch their correspondence but Mascherano is enamoured with the idea of being allowed to return to a midfield role under Allegri.

Juventus go all out for Champions League
with Alves & Pjanic pursuits

After watching an average but experienced Real Madrid side claim an 11th European Cup
on Saturday, the Bianconeri now know they can conquer the continent by signing proven winners.

May 31, 2016

There's an old saying in football: 'You don't play well in finals; you win them'. Saturday's Champions League showdown at San Siro was a perfect case in point. Real Madrid were the victors - yet there is no way that they could lay claim to being the best team in Europe.

Atletico beat two better sides in the last eight and the semis. Real weren't even the better side on the night. They are least impressive winners of the Champions League since Chelsea in 2012.

To some sensitive souls, that might sound like the kind of bitterness propagated by the 50,000 clowns who signed a petition to have Los Blancos stripped of their first five European Cups, but it's merely a conclusion based on the fact that Real went through the entire tournament without having to face a single former winner of the continental competition.

Also, at no point during the knockout stage - the supposed business end of the Champions League - did they have to take on a domestic title winner, either from this season or last. Their performance in the final was average at best.

On an individual level, Sergio Ramos once again proved a man for the big occasion, Casemiro underlined both his worth and importance to Zinedine Zidane's side, while Gareth Bale ran himself into ground. However, while it was nice of Cristiano Ronaldo to turn up for the final spot-kick in the penalty shootout, in truth, Madrid's star men did not shine at San Siro.

Despite that, they found a way to win. Just as they had two years ago against the same situation. Also, this was their 11th European Cup triumph as a club. Madrid know how to win and, as Ronaldo shrewdly pointed out afterwards: "Our team showed more experience and we showed it by scoring all the penalties."

Experience and belief count for a lot when it comes to conquering Europe, which is precisely why Juventus are presently on the verge of signing both Dani Alves and Javier Mascherano from Barcelona.

The Bianconeri could hardly be accused of lacking winners. Several members of their squad have won five successive Scudetti, as well as back-to-back doubles. However, they have fallen short in Europe for the past two seasons.

However, as former Juve striker Gianluca Vialli told Goal on Monday: "They deservedly got to the final last year and they only lost to an unbeatable Barcelona side. This year, they went out to Bayern Munich but they were 30 seconds from knocking them out. So, I think that they are there or thereabouts, alongside the rest of the top clubs in Europe."

Indeed, it was difficult not to look at Saturday's final and suspect that the Bianconeri would have beaten Real; just as they did in the semis 12 months ago. Consequently, Juve's summer transfer strategy is about quality rather than quantity. Their primary concern is on recruiting players capable of taking that one final step towards Champions League glory. They want winners.

In that sense, the likely acquisitions of Dani Alves and Mascherano make sense. The pair may be 33 and 31, respectively, but they have lifted five Champions League trophies between them. Furthermore, while Alves may no longer be as dynamic as he once was, he remains the most dangerous attacking right-back in the world. Given he is likely to be entrusted with a wing-back role in Turin, with the best back three in the game stationed behind him, it is easy to envisage him flourishing with even less defensive responsibilities than he is used to at Barca.

Mascherano would also be reinvigorated by a move to Juventus Stadium. The Argentine wants to return to his original defensive midfield role - and the Bianconeri are offering him the opportunity to do just that. Besides, regardless of his position, Mascherano still plays the game with the kind of intensity and drive that are considered prerequisites at Juve. He looks a perfect fit for the Old Lady.

Of course, the same could also be said of Miralem Pjanic. While Juve are intent on adding even more experience to their ranks, they also covet Pjanic's precision passing and set-piece skills. The Roma ace struck 10 times in Serie A last season - on four occasions from free-kicks - and created 12 goals. He would represent an ideal addition to a Juve midfield still coming to terms with the loss of Andrea Pirlo, whose provided poise and dead-ball deliveries of the highest order.

Bianconeri boss Massimiliano Allegri is a huge admirer of the Bosnian but, as it stands, the Italian champions remain reluctant to meet his €37 million buy-out clause.

However, given Juve are poised to land the extra little bit of experience they are presently lacking at very low cost, they may ultimately decide that Pjanic's fee is a price worth paying. After all, as Ronaldo's Madrid underlined on Saturday at San Siro, composure and experience are precious commodities in the modern game. By signing Pjanic, Alves and Mascherano, Juve would be acquiring a healthy mix of both.

Report: Juventus could finalize
Dani Alves signing by next week

Every timetable we tell you about is completely accurate. That's what we're here for at BWRAO, people.

http://www.blackwhitereadallover.com/2016/5/31/11816744/dani-alves-juventus-barcelona-2016-serie-a-la-liga-summer-transfer-rumors

May 31, 2016

We were sitting here around this time last week with honestly no idea of what would come to across the Italian press wires the next day. It involved Barcelona-themed transfer rumors, most of them saying that Dani Alves was basically set to bolt Spain and head to Italy.

We've reached that weird stage where things seem like they're going to happen, but haven't actually happened yet. You know, sometimes it's called The Waiting Game, where the only real "development" is that the teams are talking about what may or may not end up happening. Basically, what we expect them to do while negotiations take place.

According to reports out of Italy on Monday, maybe that awkward silence between legitimate heat in a transfer story and the end being in sight is close to arriving. The Dani Alves-to-Juventus might actually happen soon, with a reported end in sight being at some point in the next week. We've heard this dance before when it comes to other Juventus-related matter, so maybe it's just a ruse. Or maybe it's legitimate.

Either way, this is at least different than the "Juventus and Barcelona are in talks" stuff we've been hearing for the last few days. At least somebody might look at it that way.

And when it comes to a potential Alves signing, what did Beppe Marotta have to say about it all?

"Alves is a player that we have diverted our attention on. The report between him and the club needs to be defined first. If he were to become available then we will try to define the contractual relationship between us. I'm optimistic."

(Source: Gianluca Di Marzio)

Okay, so, it's understandable that Beppe will say what he said mainly because it's not like Alves is officially considered a former Barcelona player these days. Everybody may say it in anticipation of what many predict will happen, but it hasn't happened yet, so he's going to play it safe when it comes to talking to the media.

But to throw in that "I'm optimistic" at the end, there's basically the confirmation that there is something there and that Marotta is working on something. So there's that, which is nice.

How Juventus could line up with Dani Alves

With the Barcelona right-back set to confirm his move to Turin this week,

Goal looks at how the Bianconeri might best deploy the Brazilian.

There are few certainties in life, even less in the world of football. However, signing a player of the class, consistency and pace of Daniel Alves would certainly offer Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri the opportunity to experiment with various formations and tactics next season. Indeed, the experienced Brazilian is more than capable of playing in either a three or four-man defence. As such, a true champion like Alves, who is a bubbly, enthusiastic character, should have no trouble settling in Turin - on or off the field.

Of course, Dani Alves' arrival is a direct consequence of Juan Cuadrado's imminent return to Chelsea. The Colombian flopped horribly during his first stint at Stamford Bridge but the incoming Blues boss is a long-time admirer of the former Fiorentina flier and has instructed his new employers to resist Juve's attempts to sign the winger on a permanent basis. The Bianconeri have thus turned to Alves.

The former Selecao star may be 33 but his age is not considered a negative by Beppe Marotta & Co. Alves offers experience and supreme technical ability in equal measure. Juve have set their sights on Champions League glory, so signing a three-time winner of the continental competition is considered something of a no-brainer for the Bianconeri, who already feel vindicated by the enthusiasm that the South American has shown for the Old Lady's ambitious project.

3255602.jpg

Although Juve won a second successive domestic double this season, they remain hurt by their Champions League elimination at the hands of Bayern Munich. The Bianconeri were only 30 seconds away from a place in the last eight but lessons have been learned from their eventual collapse at the Allianz Arena. Juve noted the way in which Bayern's great effectiveness in wide areas ultimately proved decisive, particularly in extra-time. Given there is no greater attacking full-back in the world than Alves, his signing is seen as a major coup.

Indeed, the Scudetto holders are extremely excited by the prospect of fielding Alves and Sandro on opposite flanks, believing that the Brazilian duo would offer them an almost unrivalled offensive threat out wide. Of course, playing two such attack-minded wing-backs would normally be considered a bold move. However, the Bianconeri are emboldened by the fact that in Andrea Barzagli, Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini, they have the best back three in club football - and that's without even mentioning the safety net behind them, Gianluigi Buffon, who continues to rally heroically and successfully against the ravages of time at the grand old age of 37.

3255612.jpg

Of course, when Allegri is feeling particularly adventurous - or desperate - he could also easily select a four-man defence, with Alves and Sandro in the full-back berths. Such dynamism out wide would certainly be useful in Serie A, against the numerous sides that sit back and invite Juve onto them. Since the departure of Andrea Pirlo, Juve have sometimes struggled to play through teams. The width that the Brazilians would offer could thus prove crucial in breaking down narrow, well-drillled defences.

However, wherever they choose to position him, Alves will offer quality from out wide. Indeed, he is as good a guarantee of effective wide play in the game today. As Barcelona ace Lionel Messi said last year, "Alves is the best full-back in the world. It's very difficult to find a player like him today."

Report: Dani Alves 'signed for Juve'

http://www.football-italia.net/85287/report-dani-alves-signed-juve

Jun 2, 2016

Despite interest from PSG and Manchester United, Dani Alves reportedly signed with Juventus last night in Los Angeles.

The full-back has a clause in his Barcelona contract allowing him to walk away if it is activated by June 5.

According to Calciomercato.it, the Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United have indeed approached agent Dinorah Santa Ana, but are too late.

Last night Dani Alves is said to have put pen to paper on a two-year Juventus contract with option for a third.

He is in LA on international duty with Brazil as they prepare for the Copa America.

It’s reported his representative will inform Barcelona of the clause activation either today or tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Dani Alves posted a cryptic message on Instagram today.

“What does luck mean to you? For me it is the meeting between opportunity and preparation. And bad luck for you? For me, misfortune is sitting on the couch waiting to get lucky.”

 Barcelona: 'Dani Alves is leaving'

http://www.football-italia.net/85293/barcelona-dani-alves-leaving

Jun 2, 2016

Barcelona hold a Press conference confirming Juventus target Dani Alves is leaving, but not Javier Mascherano. “It’s a personal decision we respect.”

The full-back has a clause in his contract allowing him to walk away for free a year early if activated by June 5.

“It’s a personal decision that we respect,” declared sporting director Robert Fernandez.

“Last year his contract renewal was done under special circumstances. At that moment it was logical and normal to renew, as he’d had a great season.

“He always behaved perfectly, but has now decided to leave. He has communicated to the club his decision to leave.

“Alves was an important player and the club decided to renew his contract last year, with the option that if favourable situations emerged for everyone, he could leave a year early. The club does not always win in negotiations.

“We are not happy that Alves is going, as he behaved fantastically on and off the pitch, but it was his decision and we have to respect it.”

There are reports that Alves signed the two-year contract with Juventus last night in Los Angeles, where Brazil are based for the Copa America.

Juventus have also approached Javier Mascherano, but in this case Barcelona stand firm.

“Mascherano is a vital player and we spoke to him, he wants to continue here. Besides, he is under contract.”

Barcelona confirm that Dani Alves

will be leaving the club this summer

barcelona-confirm-that-dani-alves-will-be-leaving-the-club-this-summer

Jun 2, 2016

All we heard were rumors, rumors, rumors when it came to Dani Alves possibly coming to Juventus. We hadn't heard anything from the Barcelona side of the equation, making us wonder if all this talk about Alves leaving was, you know, actually going to happen.

Well, a major domino fell Thursday.

And the talk of Alves leaving Barcelona is more than just paper talk now. The first big domino in Juventus' reported acquisition of the 33-year-old Brazilian has officially fallen, with Barcelona sporting director Roberto Fernandez confirming that Alves will in fact leave the club this summer. That, of course, swings the door wide open for Alves to trade in his blaugrana for bianconero in the coming weeks.

"It's a personal decision that we respect. Last year his contract renewal was done under special circumstances. At that moment it was logical and normal to renew, as he'd had a great season.

"He always behaved perfectly, but has now decided to leave. He has communicated to the club his decision to leave.

"We are not happy that Alves is going, as he behaved fantastically on and off the pitch, but it was his decision and we have to respect it."

(Source: Football Italia)

I mean, you can't get more frank and honest than that.

Earlier in the week, Juventus director general Beppe Marotta said that he was "optimistic" that a deal would get done between the five-time defending Italian champions and the Brazilian fullback. Well, I'm pretty sure that optimism on Beppe's part has only improved based on what we know now. Dani Alves is looking more and more likely to be one of Juventus' summer signings. And hey, all that talk about this happening within the next week might actually, well, happen within the next week considering Alves' exit from the Camp Nou is officially official.

Alves: Time to leave Barca

http://www.football-italia.net/85311/alves-time-leave-barca?

Jun 2, 2016

Juventus-bound Dani Alves admits the time has come for him to leave Barcelona in an open letter to the club’s fans following news of his departure on Thursday.

Alves joined Barca in the summer of 2008 as Pep Guardiola’s first signing and went on to win 30 trophies with La Blaugrana in that time, including the treble twice, and he is free to embark on a new challenge, expected to be at Juve.

“In one month, it’ll have been eight years since my arrival at FC Barcelona,” the right-back began in an Instagram post.

“In July 2008, I came to this club for the first time and took my place in the dressing room, where I experienced the most important accomplishments of my career.

“From day one, from the first training session under the orders of Pep Guardiola, until the last one of the season that has just passed, I’ve had the luck of enjoying football passionately.

“I have dozens, 100s even, of photos in my mind of moments shared with you [Barca fans] at Camp Nou, the pitches of the world’s best stadiums, in the streets of Barcelona ... so many goal celebrations, lots of happiness in the form of trophies.

“I’m a privileged and honoured footballer, whose life has allowed him to wear the shirt of the best club in the world, in a prodigious decade for the quality of their players and Coaches.

“I could mention one by one all the extraordinary people with whom I have had the pleasure of overcoming challenges and difficulties in the many ways they’ve been presented, but I prefer to give them a collective thanks because in Barca’s dressing room, there’s no room for individuality.

“We all win, we all lose and we all work together. And for all those who have steered the ship, the Presidents, the Coaches, the coaching staff, the club employers, I thank them all very much because my efforts have always been rewarded with their trust and support.

“I just want to let you know that I’ve made the decision to seek a new challenge in my career because, with cycles – which have been beautiful and glorious – you have to know when to start, enjoy and finish them, and this is my time.

“I’m going, but I’ll return one day because I'm one more Cule. Thanks for making me feel so loved.”

A statement on Barca’s official website added: “FC Barcelona express their gratitude to Dani Alves for the eight years that he has been at the club during which he has helped it to become bigger and better.

“Since he arrived from Sevilla in 2008 from Sevilla, he has become the foreign player with the second most appearances as a Barca player and he has won 23 trophies with FC Barcelona.

“His commitment to the club and his good nature has captured the hearts of Barca fans. For that reason, he will be invited to bid farewell to the fans at the start of next season.

“Now, FC Barcelona wish him all the best in this new phase of his footballing career.”
