Manchester City have prepared a £50m bid to try to sign Juventus defender Alex Sandro, according to reports.

The 26-year-old left-back has played a big part in his side's impressive treble-chasing season, making 39 appearances in all competitions.

According to The MirrorPep Guardiola desperately tried to sign the Brazilian last year but was turned down by the Italian giants.

The report suggests that Man City are going back in for Sandro this summer with a huge bid that the Bianconeri will supposedly find hard to turn down, with the club going so far as to source replacements for the player.

Sandro joined Juve from Portuguese outfit Porto for £23m in 2015 and has made a total of 71 appearances for the Vecchia Signora.

Arsenal have joined Manchester City and Real Madrid in the push for Juventus left-back Alex Sandro.

The 26-year-old Brazilian was only signed in 2015 from Porto for €26m, but he has proved to be a bargain with some remarkable performances.

Manchester City had already been linked with a huge offer for Alex Sandro, but now The Sun notes that Arsenal are also interested in a summer swoop.

This season he contributed two goals and five assists in 40 competitive appearances for Juventus, helping them to the Champions League Final.

They will be up against Real Madrid, who have also been eyeing Alex Sandro for next season.

Chelsea set Alex Sandro meeting?

http://www.football-italia.net/103784/chelsea-set-alex-sandro-meeting

Jun 7, 2017

It’s claimed Chelsea will meet with the agent of Juventus full-back Alex Sandro, for whom they could offer €40m [£35m].

The Brazilian has become one of the best left-backs in Europe, and provided three goals and five assists this season as the Bianconeri did the double and reached the Champions League final.

According to La Stampa, the Blues are keen to bring the 26-year-old to England, and will meet with his agent on Sunday.

The Premier League club would be willing to pay around €40m to sign Alex Sandro, but Juve don’t want to sell and would demand over €50m [£43.5m].

Alex Sandro price is €60m

http://www.football-italia.net/103859/alex-sandro-price-€60m

Jun 8, 2017

If Juventus were to sell Manchester City and Chelsea target Alex Sandro, it would only be for a minimum of €60m (£52m), according to Tuttosport.

There were reports this week of a meeting with Chelsea and an offer worth €40m.

However, the Bianconeri paid €26m to sign the left-back from FC Porto in the summer of 2015 and his value has comfortably doubled in that time.

The 26-year-old is under contract until June 2020 and contributed three goals and seven assists in 43 competitive appearances this season.

Alex Sandro has become their first choice left-back, pushing Patrice Evra towards the exit in January, and it’s highly unlikely he would be on the market.

Tuttosport note that if Juventus were to consider a departure, it would have to be an offer they could not refuse – in the region of €70m (£60m), but certainly no lower than €60m (£52m).

CHELSEA FC TOLD TO SHELL OUT £52 MILLION TO

SECURE THE SERVICES OF JUVENTUS’ ALEX SANDRO

-told-to-shell-out-52-million-to-secure-the-services-of-juventus-alex-sandro/

Jun 9, 2017

Chelsea will have to pay £52 million if they are to sign Juventus full-back Alex Sandro in the summer

According to Simon Johnson of the Evening Standard, Chelsea have been told to cough up £52 million in order to secure the services of Juventus’ highly-rated left-back Alex Sandro in the summer.

The 26-year-old has enjoyed a breathtaking spell in Turin and has become the Old Lady’s first-choice left-back after the departure of Patrice Evra. Sandro also played a key role in guiding his team to the Champions League final this past season.

While he has established himself as a first-team regular at Juventus, the club are willing to listen to offers for him and will part ways with him should the adequate sum of money be put forth on the table for him.

Italian publication La Stampa reported that the player’s agent was in London last week and was in talks with the Chelsea hierarchy over a potential move in the summer. It also stated that the Blues were willing to offer €40 million, but were some way off Juve’s valuation of the player.

Sandro has experience of playing in a back three as well as a back four – which has seen Antonio Conte show an avid interest in services. The Italian deployed a 3-4-3 en route to the Premier League title this past season, and is not likely to change his system.

Alex Sandro could prove to be an upgrade to Marcos Alonso and be a profitable signing for Antonio Conte. (Photo Courtesy: AFP/Getty Images)

Summer signing Marcos Alonso operated as a wing-back in the 2016/17 season, and was one of the club’s standout performers. The Spaniard went on from being a flop at Sunderland, to a key figure in Chelsea’s title-winning campaign.

However, Conte did not have any like-for-like replacements for the defender, and had to recall Nathan Ake from a loan spell at Bournemouth. However, Ake is uncomfortable playing as a wing-back and so is academy product Ola Aina.

Thus, the interest in Sandro makes a lot of sense for the London side as they are looking to retain the Premier League next season and also put up a fight in the Champions League after a one-year absence.

The player is understood to be offered a new contract by Juventus, but is contemplating the decision, particularly due to Chelsea’s interest in his services. If the Blues can shell out the £52 million, Sandro may well be donning the Blue at Stamford Bridge next season.

Still only 26, the Brazilian could offer football at the top level for at least the next seven to eight years, and be one of Chelsea’s better signings of recent years. He is likely to be offered a better package, and the prospect of playing Premier League football might tempt him to make a switch.

However, with Juve naming their asking rate, Chelsea will have to act quick as there is competition for securing the player’s services. The likes of Real Madrid, Arsenal and Manchester City are all in the hunt for Sandro, and could table bids within the foreseeable future.

Chelsea €60m bid for Alex Sandro

http://www.football-italia.net/103952/chelsea-€60m-bid-alex-sandro

Jun 11, 2017

Juventus are holding firm despite Chelsea raising their Alex Sandro bid to €60m (£52.7m), according to the Italian papers.

Antonio Conte has set his sights firmly on the Brazilian left-back, who the Bianconeri only signed from FC Porto in 2015 for €26m.

He contributed three goals and seven assists in 43 competitive games this season, but also pushed Patrice Evra towards the exit and made a big name for himself in Europe.

Sunday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Chelsea offered €50m (£43.9m) for Alex Sandro, but that the proposal was rejected out of hand.

Tuttosport, however, insists the latest bid from Stamford Bridge is closer to €60m.

The 26-year-old is under contract with Juventus until June 2020 and the club is eager to make another stab at the Champions League, reaching the Final twice in the last three seasons.

Alex Sandro Reportedly Offered

New Deal Amid Chelsea Talk

-alex-sandro-reportedly-offered-new-deal-amid-blues-talk

Juventus have reportedly offered Alex Sandro a new contract in an attempt to fend off Chelsea's interest in him, but the Brazilian is "tempted" by the prospect of moving to Stamford Bridge.

According to Italian outlet Tuttosport (h/t MailOnline's Sam Morshead), Juventus want to keep hold of the left-back, but he has become a "top target" for the Blues, who have seen a £55.2 million bid rejected.

The Bianconeri have reportedly told Sandro that while they hope he stays put, they "will not stand in his way if he wants to move."

Marcos Alonso did a fine job as Chelsea's left wing-back last season, but with the Blues now in the UEFA Champions League once again, they need further depth.

Sandro is of a similar quality to the excellent Spaniard, perhaps even an upgrade, and the two would have a real competition on their hands for a place in the first-choice lineup.

The 26-year-old is adept at playing left-back if Juventus opt for a back four or in a more advanced position if they go with a back three, the same role Alonso plays under Blues boss Antonio Conte.

Like Alonso, he contributes a great deal at both ends of the pitch. GianlucaDiMarzio.com's David Amoyal is a huge admirer of Sandro both going forward and defensively:

He appears to be even more effective than the Chelsea man when it comes to marauding forward. The pair contributed to a similar number of goals last season as Sandro produced three goals and seven assists in all competitions, compared with Alonso's six and three.

According to Squawka, the Brazilian played over 300 fewer Serie A minutes last year than Alonso did in the Premier League, but he nevertheless created 50 chances and completed 49 take-ons, while the Spaniard mustered 23 and 21, respectively.

He also made more successful tackles and interceptions, though he won fewer aerial duels and made fewer clearances.

Sandro is one of few players who could arguably improve on Alonso in Chelsea's starting XI, but whether he moves is reliant on how tempted he is to join the Blues and the club's willingness to part with a significant sum for what would be a relatively small upgrade to an already-strong area of the team.

Chelsea to increase Alex Sandro bid

http://www.football-italia.net/104597/chelsea-increase-alex-sandro-bid

Jun 22, 2017

Chelsea, encouraged by recent Juventus comments, are ready to improve their offer for left-back Alex Sandro, claim Sky Sport Italia.

On Wednesday, Bianconeri director Beppe Marotta confirmed they had “received a substantial offer” for the 26-year-old Brazilian.

“We have no intention of selling anyone, but if a player decides to leave, as has happened in previous years, then at the end of the day he has to go, because we don’t keep anyone against their will.

“But at the moment there are no such situations and I hope nobody will leave.”

According to Sky Sport Italia this evening, Chelsea are prepared to lodge an improved bid, having already offered in the region of €60m.

Chelsea €70m for Alex Sandro

http://www.football-italia.net/104668/chelsea-€70m-alex-sandro

Jun 24, 2017

After Juventus turned down €60m for Alex Sandro, it’s reported they will be sorely tempted when Chelsea come back offering €70m.

This week Bianconeri director Beppe Marotta confirmed they had received “a substantial offer” for Alex Sandro, but that he wasn’t for sale unless the player specifically requested it.

That proposal was believed to be for €60m (approximately £52.8m), but now La Gazzetta dello Sport claim Chelsea are preparing a new bid worth €65-70m (around £57.1m-£61.5m).

The Brazilian was signed from FC Porto for €26m in the summer of 2015, which at the time was considered a huge investment for a player who wasn’t that well-known.

It proved to be a masterstroke, as he has become one of the best left-backs in the world, this season contributing three goals and seven assists in all competition.

There were also reports this morning in La Stampa that Chelsea were ready to place €110m on the table (£100m) for both Alex Sandro and Leonardo Bonucci.

Azpilicueta in Alex Sandro deal?

http://www.football-italia.net/104688/azpilicueta-alex-sandro-deal

Jun 24, 2017

Chelsea will try to tempt Juventus into parting with Alex Sandro by offering cash plus Cesar Azpilicueta if €70m alone won’t do it.

Antonio Conte is determined to snatch the left-back from the Turin giants, but the Bianconeri said they won’t sell unless he asks to go.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claimed today that Chelsea were increasing their €60m offer to €70m in order to convince Juve into a sale.

Now Calciomercato.it suggest that there could be a part-exchange to sweeten the deal, namely handing over a ready-made replacement on the left.

Azpilicueta turns 28 next month and can play in any of the defensive roles, making him a valuable tool for Max Allegri’s versatile tactics.

This season, the Spaniard contributed two goals and seven assists in 47 competitive games for Chelsea.

Alex Sandro requests Chelsea?

http://www.football-italia.net/104725/alex-sandro-requests-chelsea

Jun 25, 2017

Alex Sandro has decided to leave Juventus after Chelsea increased their offer to €70m, according to Calciomercato.com.

Earlier this week, Bianconeri director Beppe Marotta confirmed receiving “a very substantial offer” for the Brazilian left-back.

He also noted that Juve “don’t keep anyone against their will,” effectively inviting the defender to request a transfer.

Reports in Italy this evening suggest that has now happened and Alex Sandro is ready to join Chelsea, where he’d more than double his current €2.8m salary to earn over €7m net per year in London.

Juve would also make a huge profit, having bought the 26-year-old from FC Porto for €26m in the summer of 2015.

The Turin giants already need to replace Dani Alves, who will be released from his contract by mutual consent to join Manchester City, so are completely revamping half their defence.

Matteo Darmian of Manchester United and Milan’s Mattia De Sciglio are consistently named as targets, but negotiations are intensifying with Atalanta to recall Leonardo Spinazzola early.

He is currently midway through a two-year loan deal in Bergamo.

Chelsea in Alex Sandro talks

http://www.football-italia.net/104765/chelsea-alex-sandro-talks

Jun 26, 2017

Chelsea are reportedly in talks to sign Juventus left-back Alex Sandro for a fee in excess of €56m.

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea are hopeful of a double deal that also sees Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko head to Stamford Bridge.

The pair would also satisfy Antonio Conte’s demands for reinforcements after recent reports suggested that the former Italy CT was growing impatient.

Alex Sandro joined Juve for €26m from Porto in 2015 and made 74 appearances for the Bianconeri in that time, winning two domestic Doubles.

Alex Sandro rejects Juventus renewal

http://www.football-italia.net/104774/alex-sandro-rejects-juventus-renewal

Jun 26, 2017

It’s reported Alex Sandro rejected the idea of a Juventus renewal, as he wants to join Chelsea.

The Brazilian has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, with rumours earlier today that the Blues are in talks over a €56m deal.

This evening Sky is reporting that the Bianconeri attempted to offer the full-back a new contract, but he told them that his desire is to leave the club.

Chelsea will therefore accelerate their efforts to sign Alex Sandro, and while Juve won’t sell cheap, general manager Giuseppe Marotta has been clear that they won’t hold any player against their will.

Significance of selling Alex Sandro

No matter what the fee, Adam Digby feels Juventus would send all the wrong

signals by letting Alex Sandro join Chelsea without a fight.

http://www.football-italia.net/104789/significance-selling-alex-sandro

Jun 27, 2017

“The will of the player” is a refrain Beppe Marotta has begun to use repeatedly when Juventus lose one of their stars. It began with Arturo Vidal wanting to leave the Bianconeri in 2015, the Chilean expressing his desire to contend for the Champions League trophy with Bayern Munich, with Kingsley Coman soon following suit.

The club’s director general also uttered those words as Paul Pogba and Mino Raiola wrung every last drop of publicity from his return to Manchester United, but somehow that hurt much less. Indeed, the crassness of the Frenchman’s departure – which sadly for Milan supporters is currently being echoed by Gianluigi Donnarumma and his bizarre social media output – showed Juve fans that it was solely about getting paid and most were glad to see the back of him, his dab and his greedy agent.

However, over the past few weeks Marotta has revealed he rebuffed a major offer from Chelsea for Alex Sandro, insisting the 26-year-old was not for sale, only to simultaneously use his catchphrase to say the Bianconeri would be powerless to prevent him moving to Stamford Bridge if he wanted to go.

Enough.

While nobody in their right mind would advocate keeping a player who vocally expressed a desire to leave, there is a vast difference between knowing that and willingly telling the Press that the club would not block a departure. Seeing the man tasked with building a squad to compete with Europe’s elite clubs admit he cannot stop anyone from moving elsewhere not only looks incredibly weak, but it removes much of the leverage he would have in subsequent negotiations.

It must be said that Marotta is a highly intelligent man, one who has learned and evolved over his seven-year tenure in Turin. From mistakes like Marco Motta, Jorge Martinez and even Hernanes, he showed last summer that every doubt over his ability was misplaced as he brought in the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Miralem Pjanic, not to mention extracting a world record sum from Manchester United in the Pogba deal.

It is easy to pontificate about what went wrong in Cardiff, about the reasons for the collapse of the team as Real Madrid ran out 4-1 winners. Easier still is to bemoan the fact that a huge gulf separates the Spanish giants – along with Barcelona and Bayern Munich – from the chasing pack, that the Bianconeri belong in a tier below, alongside the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid.

Yet the dominance of Serie A under Marotta’s stewardship means the club has gone from mid-table mediocrity to a record-breaking sixth consecutive Scudetto. It was he who appointed Antonio Conte and then replaced him with Max Allegri, but while the team has risen to the cusp of European glory, he must now prove he can take it to the next level.

Doing so does not automatically mean nobody will leave, but you would not hear Florentino Perez or Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confess they cannot retain their players. The Alex Sandro situation offers a perfect opportunity for Marotta to send a message to the very clubs Juventus are seeking to catch. You might be able to buy our stars, but it will be expensive, it will be difficult and it will be on our terms. “The will of the player” be damned.

PSG join Alex Sandro hunt

http://www.football-italia.net/104853/psg-join-alex-sandro-hunt

Jun 27, 2017

Juventus left-back Alex Sandro could leave for €70m, but Chelsea face competition from Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.

Last week Bianconeri director Beppe Marotta confirmed they had turned down a “substantial offer” for the Brazilian, but that the club would not keep anyone against their will.

It was effectively an invitation to open a bidding war, as Chelsea may well find that €70m is no longer enough.

That’s because Sky Sport Italia report that Manchester City are interested, but above all so are Paris Saint-Germain.

Their new director of sport already worked with Alex Sandro at Porto and Juve could aim to get Blaise Matuidi as part of the deal.

Another option, which is still entirely likely, is that Alex Sandro will opt to remain with Juventus and take another stab at the Champions League.

Alex Sandro is not Pogba - he is

irreplaceable for selling club Juventus

Losing a player they will not be able to properly replace, albeit for a huge

fee, proves the Bianconeri know they cannot compete with Europe's elite

http://www.goal.com/en/news/8/main/2017/06/28/36684392/-

"We have no intention of selling anyone," Beppe Marotta declared last week. "But if a player decides to leave, as has happened in previous years, then he has to go, because we don't keep anyone against their will."

It was a staggering admission from the Juventus general director.

In the same summer in which Southampton, a mid-table Premier League outfit, forced Liverpool into a humiliating apology over their pursuit of the want-away Virgil van Dijk, the champions of Italy admitted that any member of their squad could leave if he so desired.

No club or coach wants to retain the services of a player who no longer wants to be there, but that Marotta openly admitted Juve would not stand in the way of any unsettled party could not be construed as anything other than a public concession of weakness.

Beppe Marotta Juventus PS

As a result, the Bianconeri are now set to lose their first-choice full-backs in the same transfer window, with both Dani Alves and Alex Sandro bound for the Premier League. And this, after reaching a second Champions League final in three seasons.

While Alves' departure is more understandable, the imminent departure of Alex Sandro is far more damaging as it validates the belief that Juve are a selling club.

A year after they lost Paul Pogba to Manchester United, they are set to allow one of their best players to join Chelsea. There is a big difference between the two deals, though.

In the case of Pogba, Juve were resigned to losing the Mino Raiola-managed Frenchman, anyway, and were enthused by the record-breaking fee of €105 million.

Alex Sandro Paul Pogba Juventus

More importantly, Juve felt that Pogba was replaceable. By contrast, they know that Alex Sandro is not.

Indeed, there is no other left-sided player on the market anywhere near as good as the former Porto ace. Matteo Darmian has been identified as a cut-price alternative but he is not on the same level as Alex Sandro.

Only Marcelo compares. The Real Madrid full-back registered more assists than his compatriot last season (10 to four) but Alex Sandro created more chances (50 to 44), completed more dribbles (49 to 43), made more interceptions (57 to 40), and won more duels (207 to 122) and aerials (41 to 8) – despite playing three less league games.

Those stats illustrate just how rounded a player Alex Sandro has become since arriving in Turin two years ago, and why he is just as capable of playing in any position on the left flank.

Alex Sandro Marcelo Stats PS

We're not only talking about a wonderfully talented footballer, one who made his name in an exciting Santos side alongside Neymar and Felipe Anderson, but also an incredibly determined individual who spent his first year in Turin learning as much as possible from the more defensively minded Patrice Evra.

"He helped me understand what the coach wanted from a full-back," Alex Sandro revealed.

"The Italian league is very tactical, the teams are extremely compact. You have very little time to think with the ball at your feet. I wasn't expecting that but it's helped me improve so much."

Alex Sandro's mentality has also changed over the past two years.

This is character that now hates losing so much that he stopped playing football games online with Real Madrid duo Danilo and Casemiro because he was ending up on the wrong end of too many beatings.

"I used to get too annoyed!" he admitted to Tuttosport last year.

This insatiable will to win was cultivated at Juve. It was in Turin that Alex Sandro learned that a true professional approaches every game and treats every opponent with the exact same level of professionalism, and that, at elite clubs, winning isn't an option but an obligation.

"Frosinone, Napoli, Bayern Munich - it doesn't make a difference," he explained.

"The Juve mentality is simple and I like it: you must only follow the straight line that leads to victory."

Antonio Conte Juventus PS

Thus, the Bianconeri are loath to lose a player who had so enthusiastically embraced the club culture and offered him a contract extension until 2022 that would have seen him earn a net salary of €5 million per annum.

Crucially, though, Chelsea offered more. A lot more. Alex Sandro is now set to see his wage packet go from €2.5m a year to €9m.

For all the remarkable ground that they have made in recent years from an economic perspective, Juve still cannot afford to pay the kind of astronomical wages on offer in England.

They cannot compete and, as Marotta effectively admitted, they know it.

More importantly, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte knows it too. It was he, after all, who pointed out during his time in charge in Turin that, "You cannot expect to eat in a €100 restaurant with just €10 in your pocket."

It was those financial constraints that ultimately prompted Conte to part company with Juve, after a dispute with Marotta over transfer targets in the summer of 2014.

Until Serie A becomes a financial force again - which is wholly dependent upon further overseas investment - Juve, and every other Italian outfit, will continue to earn only a fraction of the TV money currently being distributed in England, which is why Southampton can take a hard-line stance in the transfer market and the Bianconeri cannot.

It is why Paul Pogba departed last summer, Alex Sandro will leave this summer, and Paulo Dybala will probably move on next summer.

Juve may be one of the best-run clubs in Europe and boast one of its strongest sides but while they have deservedly reclaimed their seat at Europe's top table, their pockets are still nowhere near as deep as those sitting alongside them.

Juve offer new Alex Sandro deal

http://www.football-italia.net/105097/juve-offer-new-alex-sandro-deal

Jul 1, 2017

Juventus are prepared to offer Alex Sandro €5m per year until 2022 if he snubs Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain to sign a new contract.

According to the Corriere dello Sport newspaper, the Bianconeri aren’t prepared to sell the Brazilian left-back, even if the bids reach €70m.

Instead, they are laying out a plan to keep Alex Sandro in Turin for the long-term.

This is partly with a cash sum, specifically a salary hike to €5m per year until 2022.

It’s not far off the reported €6m per year that was on the table from Chelsea.

Another key to locking down Alex Sandro is the attempt to sign his former Porto teammate Danilo, currently at Real Madrid.

They were a fantastic pair on the flanks and remain very good friends, so replacing Dani Alves with Danilo is more than just a tactical choice.

Juve are in negotiations with Real Madrid and hoping to clinch that deal for €20m plus bonuses.

 PSG €65m for Alex Sandro

http://www.football-italia.net/105140/report-psg-€65m-alex-sandro

Jul 2, 2017

Paris Saint-Germain are offering €65m for Alex Sandro, report La Repubblica, but the Juventus left-back would only leave for Chelsea.

The Brazilian was signed from Porto in 2015 for €26m, but his price-tag has since sky-rocketed thanks to performances in Serie A, the Champions League and Coppa Italia.

According to La Repubblica, PSG are prepared to pay €65m for Alex Sandro – significantly more than the €60m last proposed by Chelsea.

However, the same report also claims that the player would only leave Juventus if it meant joining Antonio Conte’s project at Stamford Bridge.

The Bianconeri would much prefer to trade with Paris Saint-Germain if they really had to part with Alex Sandro, as the clubs are already in negotiations for Blaise Matuidi and Serge Aurier.

Juventus would rather not lose Alex Sandro at all and have proposed a contract extension to 2022 with improved wages of €5m per year.

Juve slam door on Alex Sandro

http://www.football-italia.net/105477/juve-slam-door-alex-sandro

Juventus are slamming the door on Alex Sandro unless Chelsea or Paris Saint-Germain offer over €70m.

The left-back has been at the centre of a bidding war between the two European clubs this summer, so far reaching around €60m.

According to Tuttosport, the Bianconeri have decided that to sell would be a sign of weakness and are therefore determined to hold on to the former Porto star.

The only exception would be if someone were to come in with a bid worth a minimum of €70-75m.

Meanwhile, Juve are asking Alex Sandro to sign a new contract to June 2022, adding two years to his current deal.

More importantly, it would almost double his current €2.8m per year salary to €5m.

Alex Sandro to extend at Juventus

http://www.football-italia.net/105830/alex-sandro-extend-juventus

Jul 15, 2017

There are growing reports Alex Sandro will sign a new contract with Juventus after they turned down a €70m Chelsea offer.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Bianconeri approached Chelsea for Nemanja Matic and were asked for the full-back at a price of €70m.

When Juve said no to this as well, it became clear they have no intention of parting with the Brazilian.

Instead, a new contract is ready to be signed, reportedly worth over €4m per year net.

The 26-year-old joined Juventus from Porto in the summer of 2015 for €26m and his current contract runs to June 2020.

Allegri: “Alex Sandro to Chelsea? No chance”

http://www.juvefc.com/allegri-alex-sandro-chelsea-no-chance/

Aug 5, 2017

Max Allegri has put an end to the reports that Alex Sandro may join Chelsea, saying there is “no chance” of the Brazilian full back joining the Blues.

Rumours have persisted in the English press of a Chelsea bid for Juve’s left-back but Allegri was bullish about Sandro staying at the club following Juve’s 2-0 friendly loss to Spurs.

“I’m not worried. We’ve worked hard in the last few days,” he said after the game.

“We did some good things. It’s true that defeats like these are bad, but we must look at the positives.

“We need to be more careful defensively and we have to work hard because the Italian League is always won by the team with the best defence.

“The team are fine, they’ve improved physically. Douglas Costa? It was the first game that he started.

“He played well until he came off and can have the same excuses as everyone else.”

“Alex Sandro is a Juventus player and he will stay one.

“Sandro joining Chelsea? No chance.”

Marotta: 'Alex Sandro wants Juve stay'

http://www.football-italia.net/108328/marotta-alex-sandro-wants-juve

Aug 17, 2017

Juventus director Beppe Marotta confirms they rejected Chelsea’s offer for Alex Sandro because “he said he wants to stay here.”

Antonio Conte has made no secret of his desire to sign the Brazilian left-back, reportedly offering over €70m.

“He said he wants to stay here, so we sent the offers right back where they came from,” Marotta told reporters in the mixed zone today.

Blaise Matuidi is undergoing the second part of his medical today and will be unveiled as a Juventus player, arriving from Paris Saint-Germain for €20m plus up to €10m in various bonuses.

“We have a verbal agreement with PSG and it will soon be official. We have a winning group that did not require a revolution. Teams who transform over the summer had problems that needed fixing.

“We created a model for introducing quality players. We want to be able to take opportunities and not keep hold of those who are unhappy.

“There is no such situation here now, but there are another 15 days to deal with any requests from other clubs.”

Brazil call Alex Sandro

http://www.football-italia.net/109283/brazil-call-alex-sandro

Sep 2, 2017

Juventus full-back Alex Sandro has been called up for Brazil after an injury to Inter defender Joao Miranda and Marcelo’s ban.

The Seleçao announced the changes to their squad ahead of the World Cup qualifier with Colombia.

Alex Sandro and Jemerson of Monaco have been added to the side.

Despite becoming one of the highest-prized left-backs in Europe, Alex Sandro only has seven senior caps for Brazil.

The most recent appearance was in a 4-0 friendly win over Australia in June, but that ended a four-year drought.

New deal for Alex Sandro

http://www.football-italia.net/109296/new-deal-alex-sandro

Sep 2, 2017

Alex Sandro is set to sign a new contract holding him to Juventus until 2022 with a salary worth €5m per year.

The left-back was the subject of a bidding war over the summer, believed to be up to €70m from Chelsea and Manchester City.

Juve held firm and will reward the Brazilian with a new deal to June 2022.

He’ll be offered wages worth around €5m per year, making him one of the highest-paid players in Serie A.

Alex Sandro currently earns €2.8m per season and is under contract to June 2020.

Juventus generally do not insert release clauses into their contracts.
