After he ‘liked’ a post reporting a Manchester United move, it’s reported Juventus rejected a €60m offer for Douglas Costa.

 

The Brazilian is out of action at the moment due to injury and was involved in a nasty car crash earlier this week.

 

He is active on Twitter and hit the ‘like’ button on a story linking him with a transfer to Manchester United and apparent €60m January bid.

 

Douglas Costa’s gesture was spotted by various fans and media, so he removed it a few hours later.

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly keen on signing Juventus winger Douglas Costa this summer.

 

Tuttosport first spoke of interest from PSG in March, before Sportitalia revived the rumour on Monday, explaining there was ‘strong’ interest on the club’s part.

 

That has since been followed up by the reputable France Football, which claims new sporting director Leonardo has personally checked out his fellow Brazilian.

 

The publication adds Costa’s camp have already been in touch with the French giants but stresses talks are still at an early stage.

 

Furthermore, they would have to sell before they can consider splashing the cash this summer.

 

The 28-year-old is a fans’ favourite at Juve but played just three times after January due to a long-standing hamstring injury.

According to reports from England (via the Daily Mail), Man United have asked Juve for Douglas Costa (and money) in a swap deal that would see Romelu Lukaku go the other way.

 

Inter have been after Lukaku for a while now but Juve have now reportedly entered the race to get the Belgium forward.

 

It will now all depend on Sarri as it remains to be seen if he wants to let Douglas Costa leave or not. More to come on the matter...

Douglas Costa has denied speculation linking him with Manchester United as ‘I want to stay here to win trophies and give blood for Juventus.’

 

Giovanni Branchini, one of the intermediaries who helped Costa sign for Juve in 2017, claimed there was ‘strong interest’ from United over the summer.

 

However, the Brazil winger has now issued a rebuttal, while pledging his loyalty to the Bianconeri.

 

“I’m writing to deny the baseless news published today, which said I was in negotiations with some clubs during the last transfer window,” wrote the 28-year-old on Instagram.

 

“Since the start of this season, I’ve been clear that I wanted to stay here to win trophies and give blood for the Juve jersey.

 

“Junior Mendoza is my only agent and the only person authorised to speak on my behalf.”

Juventus will be without Douglas Costa for the next two weeks, but Miralem Pjanic should be fit to face Atletico Madrid.

 

Costa and Pjanic both limped out of Juve’s 0-0 draw with Fiorentina on Saturday.

 

The Bianconeri have now confirmed in a medical report that the winger suffered “a medium-grade thigh injury”.

 

It adds he will be reassessed in two weeks, possibly ruling him out of the Derby d’Italia with Inter on October 6.

 

However, the outlook is better for Pjanic as the Old Lady writes he avoided a muscular injury and trained alone on Monday.

 

Therefore, the midfielder should be available to Maurizio Sarri for tomorrow’s Champions League opener against Atleti.

Juventus winger Douglas Costa has revealed that the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo at the club has reduced the squad's body fat levels.

 

Costa was talking to Esporte Interativo about how his diet had changed since Ronaldo signed for Juve in the summer of 2018.

 

"I've always fed myself properly, now more so than ever. I'm 29 and I feel it.

 

"You often see him Ronaldo topless and his physique is awesome.

 

"It drives everyone on and we all want to have a body like his.

 

"From when he arrived at the club, the percentage of body fat throughout squad has gone down.

 

"It's remarkable. He gives us a lot off the field."

 

The Brazilian then remarked that the pair enjoyed a good relationship off the pitch, as well as on it.

 

"We speak the same language on and off the pitch.

 

"Everytime we play together, we try to find each other because we both know that together, we can cause problems for our opponents."

Douglas Costa will be out for two weeks with a thigh strain, confirmed Juventus, while Matthijs de Ligt dislocated his shoulder.

 

The Bianconeri fought back to beat Atalanta 3-1 on Saturday, but it came at a price with new injury problems.

 

Douglas Costa only came on as a substitute in Bergamo, but still managed to suffer a new lesion to the right thigh.

 

It was confirmed by today’s tests at the J-Medical centre and a statement confirmed he will be out of action for circa 15 days.

 

Defender De Ligt dislocated his shoulder during the match and medics popped it back in place, allowing him to finish the game.

 

He underwent treatment today and remains in doubt for the Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.

 

Federico Bernardeschi has a bruise to his torso that was making it difficult for him to breathe, so he came off during the Atalanta game.

 

He too needs to be evaluated for the Champions League.

Bayern Munich are hoping that they can sign Juventus winger Douglas Costa this month, according to a report from German tabloid Bild via Calciomercato.com today.
 
The report details how the Bundesliga giants are dreaming of a reunion with the 29-year-old Brazilian forward, who spent two years in Bavaria with the club between 2015 to 2017. The player has struggled in Turin this season with the Bianconeri, first due to both a muscle and hamstring injury and secondly because coach Maurizio Sarri prefers to deploy other options in place of the Brazilian.
 
Costa has made 13 appearances across all competitions so far this season for a total of 380 minutes. In that time he’s scored two goals and provided three assists, already an improvement over last season. The Brazilian struggled in Turin last season too, missing the last 15 league games of the season due to a hamstring and then calf injury.

Douglas Costa has become the latest Juventus player to leave the country before the supposed 14-day coronavirus quarantine period is complete.

 

Gonzalo Higuain caused controversy when he was allowed to fly out to Argentina this week, followed swiftly out of Italy by Miralem Pjanic and Sami Khedira.

 

Now multiple sources state Douglas Costa has also been given permission by the club to go back home to Brazil.

Costa has been on United radar before

The Serie A side have a number of possible departures to tend to, but Paratici is said to be keen to settle the future of Costa, who has been on Manchester United’s radar for some time.

German and Italian reports claim Douglas Costa is leaving Juventus for a return to Bayern Munich on loan, again creating room for Federico Chiesa.

 

Kicker, Sky Sport Deutschland and Sky Sport Italia all claim this evening a deal has been struck for the Brazilian to go back to his old club.

 

It is a dry loan, so with no option to buy, but Bayern will cover the Douglas Costa salary and likely give a small figure to Juve for the loan period.

 

Like Daniele Rugani to Rennes and Mattia De Sciglio towards Olympique Lyonnais, this loan is to free up room and money for Federico Chiesa. ......
