Real Madrid offered a chance to sign young Juventus star?

According to a report from Defensa Central, legendary agent Mino Raiola has offered Real Madrid an opportunity to sign de Ligt after his first year at Juve. Raiola has been quoted as saying he wants to bring a “great” player to Real Madrid in the summer of 2020, with most fans pointing to Paul Pogba and Erling Haaland as potential blockbuster signings among Raiola’s clients.

 

This link to de Ligt is out of nowhere and seems highly unlikely. The report mentions that Los Blancos are looking for a long-term replacement for Ramos next to Varane, since Ramos might only have a couple of more years left of starting-quality football. I wouldn’t bet against Ramos playing at a high level for longer than that, but Real do have to think about the future. .....

 

It would be unwise for Juventus to give up on the talented Dutch defender, who has all the physical traits and leadership qualities to be a special player. Prior to his injury, Merih Demiral was the actual young superstar defender for Juve, but given the 75 million euros they paid for de Ligt, it’s hard to see Juve moving on from such a long-term investment.

Jaap Stam believes it is “fundamental that Matthijs de Ligt stays at Juventus for many years” for his career, growth process and learning "the art of defending."

 

Despite initial difficulties, De Ligt has always laughed off speculation linking him with Barcelona, Real Madrid or Manchester United under a year after his €85m move from Ajax.

 

“My opinion of his first few months in Serie A is positive,” former Milan and Lazio defender Stam told TuttoJuve.com.

In a surprising move, Matthijs de Ligt has left Turin and returned to the Netherlands with his girlfriend, so Juventus now have nine players abroad.

 

A video posted on Instagram by AnneKee Molenaar showed them jogging through the Dutch countryside, while another photograph confirmed they had brought along their dog, Luna.

Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt may need an intervention to solve the shoulder problems bothering him since November.

 

The Bianconeri sweat over Matthijs de Ligt’s fitness, as the shoulder continued to give the Dutch defender problems during the 3-3 draw with Sassuolo.

 

The Corriere di Torino claims the problem has been bothering the young defender for a while and he may require an operation.

 

An intervention could be necessary to resolve the problem once and for all and the 21-year-old could therefore be out until the start of next season.

This break for international duty has not been kind for the Bianconeri, as both Giorgio Chiellini and now Leonardo Bonucci have pulled out of the Italy squad.

Matthijs de Ligt has said Andrea Pirlo’s playing style is ‘more modern’ than Maurizio Sarri’s and reveals what Juventus have changed this season.

 

De Ligt made his seasonal debut in the Old Lady’s 2-0 win against Cagliari on Saturday after a shoulder surgery he sustained in August.

 

"They were hard months, I worked so hard to come back and play. Today I am very happy, for the whole team,” De Ligt told Sky Sport.

 

“It was a tough period but suffering can be positive sometimes. I played some games with a dislocated shoulder but I am happy we won the league last season.

The Old Lady have confirmed another case of COVID-19 in the team group, as De Ligt tested positive on the latest tests.

 

The club announced the positivity in a press release that read: “Juventus Football Club announce that, during the checks provided for by the protocol in force, the positivity for COVID-19 of Matthijs de Ligt emerged.

The COVID-19 problems continue for the Old Lady ahead of the big game against the Neroverdi, as the club confirmed De Ligt has tested positive.

 

This week, Alex Sandro and Juan Cuadrado missed out against Milan on Wednesday and now they are joined by De Ligt.

 

The Dutch defender had missed the first part of the season due to a shoulder injury, but he has been in great shape since his return and was on the pitch in the 3-1 win over League leaders Milan.

Juventus confirm Matthijs de Ligt has recovered from COVID-19 and will be in the squad for tomorrow’s game with Bologna.

 

The Dutch defender had been out since testing positive for the Coronavirus on January 8.

 

He has passed all the required tests and medicals too, so is available to resume playing. .........

 

 

Juan Cuadrado also recovered from COVID this week and was rushed back into the starting XI against Napoli for the Supercoppa.

 

Only Alex Sandro still remains in isolation with the virus.

DE LIGT: ‘I GET ANGRY AT WRONG JUVENTUS MENTALITY’

 

 

 

Matthijs de Ligt was impressed with the ‘maturity’ of Juventus in their victory away to Bologna and discussed his leadership style. ‘I always want to win and sometimes get angry when there is the wrong mentality.’

 

The centre-back was a rock at the Stadio Dall’Ara, keeping a clean sheet and making decisive blocks, while Alvaro Morata and Juan Cuadrado got the goals.

 

“We played with a lot of maturity, although we can improve a great deal in the way we build out from the back,” De Ligt told DAZN.

 

The former Ajax defender was seen shouting angrily at teammates after he had to make a crucial interception in the box.

 

“I always want to win and do everything possible to win. Sometimes I get angry, because I don’t get it when I see players with the wrong mentality. That makes me angry. An error can happen, but the mentality must never waver.”

 

“We need to improve our record in the second half of the season, especially after dropping too many points against the so-called smaller clubs.

 

“Dropping points against Inter and Milan can happen, but with the smaller sides you must do everything possible to get the win.”
