About 12 hours after the final whistle sounded at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, we found out that what we expected to be the diagnosis after the big collision was indeed true — Szczesny broke his noise and had to undergo surgery to put things back in proper alignment, Juventus said in a statement on their website Sunday morning. “The surgery went perfectly successful,” it read. Szczesny is only expected to miss Friday’s trip to Sardinia against Cagliari. If that’s the case, that means Mattia Perin would play in back-to-back games for just the second time this season as he will make his usual Coppa Italia start the following Tuesday against Lazio, with Szczesny likely returning to the starting lineup on May 5 when Juve face Roma at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. ...............
