The Bianconeri’s campaign has been underwhelming from the get-go, but has recently descended into chaos, with the horrified fans forced to watch their beloved club disintegrate before their very eyes. ............ Nevertheless, Criscitiello takes a swipe at the very top of the hierarchy when giving his unfiltered take on the chaotic situation at the club. ............ The Sportitalia editor-in-chief directly blames Elkann for all that has befallen Juventus recently, noting how he chased his cousin Andrea Agnelli out of the club so he could install his own men. “Juve’s problem is Elkann. You had two opportunities to show what you’re worth, you waged war on your cousin but objectively football is not for him,” wrote the Italian journalist. ............ “At Juve, even football men are failing, even Giuntoli is under fire for the choice of players and coach that was completely botched.” ............ “There wasn’t just one day when the club aimed for the Scudetto title. It doesn’t mean that the team is bad but there is a problem at the very base: they are playing against the coach. “If Thiago Motta were to pay then it would be Giuntoli’s turn next, but to protect a possible fourth place, you have to change coach.” . Socrates 8906 Joined: 04-Apr-2006 136297 messaggi Inviato April 5 Juventus ultras send blunt message to Andrea Agnelli amid rumours Turin’s streets became a stage for protest as Juventus’ hardcore fan groups made their stance clear: Andrea Agnelli is not welcome back. A banner unfurled outside FIAT’s headquarters delivered a scathing rebuke, accusing the former president of complicity in past controversies and urging him to steer clear of the club. The sign, reading “Abuse and convictions with your complicity. AA [Andrea Agnelli] stay away from this club,” targeted reports linking Agnelli to a potential return, which Exor, Juventus’ majority shareholder, later dismissed. The ultras’ message was amplified online, with the Drughi group posting “Andrea Agnelli, we don’t want you!” on Instagram, leaving no ambiguity about their resistance. ............ While some pundits argue Juventus needs Agnelli’s vision to revive its global standing, ultras blame his governance for fostering a culture of compromise. His resignation in 2022, amid accounting fraud allegations and a 10-point Serie A penalty, deepened the club’s crisis. Yet, whispers of a consortium-led buyout, possibly involving U.S. investors, keep speculation alive. ............ . The Bianconeri have been without a main sponsor since the start of the season, when their 12-year collaboration with the American automobile brand came to an end. Instead, the team has been displaying the “Save the Children” banner since the start of the season as a goodwill initiative to make up for the lack of a commercial partner. Nevertheless, circulating reports in the Italian media revealed that the Jeep logo is about to make a comeback on the club’s shirt, with Exor CEO John Elkann personally endorsing the accord between the two companies he owns (Juventus and Stellantis). ............ The new agreement with Jeep will be finalised ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup which will kick off in mid-June. The Bianconeri are also expected to display another sponsor on their shirts in the shape of “Visit Detroit”, thus yielding extra income. As for Jeep, the source expects the agreement to be worth around 25 million euros per season. This number pale in comparison to the previous figures which had reached 45 million euros by the end of their initial accord. ............ . Socrates 8906 Joined: 04-Apr-2006 136297 messaggi Inviato May 3 Italian paper claims Inzaghi and Calhanoglu bans are not fair on Juventus Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport suggests that Juventus have a right to be annoyed by the one-match bans handed to Inter’s Simone Inzaghi and Hakan Calhanoglu this week, as former Juventus owner Andrea Agnelli took a significantly harsher punishment for a similar incident back in 2017. ............ An investigation was launched in 2024 after the murder of Andrea Bellocco by a fellow supporter and the subsequent arrests of several ultras with suspected links to mafia families. It was later revealed that a number of high-profile coaches and players, including Inzaghi, Calhanoglu, Milan’s Davide Calabria and Nerazzurri vice-President Javier Zanetti had either met or had discussions with ultras and it has since been confirmed that some of those conversations broke FIGC rules. Turin-based outlet Tuttosport have published an article claiming that ‘justice is not equal’, owing to the fact that Inzaghi and Calhanoglu were given fines and one-match bans, while former Juventus owner Agnelli took a 12-month suspension that was later reduced to three months for a similar incident in 2017. ............ Still, Agnelli was originally handed a 12-month ban, later reduced to three months, which Tuttosport questions given that Calhanoglu and Inzaghi were given one-match bans for a similar accusation. Tuttosport also questions the fact that the ruling was delivered on May 1, a bank holiday in Italy, and a day where none of the daily sport newspapers are published. ............ Tuttosport’s article claims that Inter and Juventus were treated differently by the relevant authorities, labelling it an ‘abysmal difference in treatment’ and accuses the Federal Prosecutor’s Office of acting ‘softly’ in the Inzaghi-Calhanoglu case. ............ . Socrates 8906 Joined: 04-Apr-2006 136297 messaggi Inviato May 12 Journalist on the ‘war’ of cousins: “Agnelli wants Juventus return, Elkann has two options” Italian journalist Michele Criscitiello discussed what he described as the ‘war’ between Juventus majority owner John Elkann and his cousin Andrea Agnelli. When legendary Juventus president and Italian businessman Gianni Agnelli passed away in 2003, his grandson Elkann emerged as the main heir. But since the 49-year-old had always been interested in business rather than sport (or at least football), he entrusted Agnelli with Juventus in 2010. However, his achievements were undone following a series of sporting, legal and political blunders, which eventually forced him to resign in November 2022 before being slapped with a sporting ban. Elkann then replaced Agnelli and the old board with some of his close collaborators, including Gianluca Ferrero and Maurizio Scanavino. ............ “Elkann is not a football man and is also failing the second chance that he gave himself,” wrote Criscitiello in his editorial. “He hoped for the disasters and failures of his cousin, he put his finger in where it was not needed and did not enjoy the years of triumphs. “Agnelli had his mistakes, of course. Who doesn’t make mistakes in 10 years of football? But he had brought Juventus back to the top. Starting from zero or minus one. ............ “Today, Elkann has two options, not three. Bring his cousin back and say goodbye to football once and for all, or sell Juventus, since no one has the passion and competence of the old Agnellis. “He should rule out the third option on his own: move forward with this senseless project. Juventus must always be a winner and never experimental.” . Over the past few months, Elkann has made a number of key decisions that underline his re-engagement with the Bianconeri. One of the most notable changes came with the departure of sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, who left after just two seasons. The move formed part of a broader restructuring effort aimed at steering the club back to the summit of Italian football. Elkann’s upcoming trip to the United States is part of a larger strategy to strengthen ties with the squad and reassert his presence. He is expected to be with the team throughout the Club World Cup campaign, a gesture that may serve to motivate both players and staff. ............ Elkann’s increasing visibility is being interpreted as a clear signal of his commitment to rebuilding Juventus after a turbulent few seasons. By showing up at major competitions and involving himself more closely with the team, he is also looking to reinforce a winning culture. . For the players, having a figure like Elkann nearby during such an important tournament could prove inspiring. It sends a message that the leadership is not only invested financially, but also emotionally, in the success of the squad. ............ . The Agnelli family continues to be the dominant force behind Juventus, as they own the largest portion of shares in the organisation. Their control over the club’s strategic direction and leadership has never been in doubt, and there is no indication that this will change soon. Tether, a well-known name in the crypto-financial world, has become increasingly active in its Juventus investment strategy. After acquiring shares earlier, the company has now increased its stake to 10.12 percent of the club’s share capital. This move makes Tether the second-largest shareholder in Juventus behind the Agnelli family. Tether is not just interested in holding shares passively. They are now pushing for greater involvement in club affairs and have expressed interest in gaining a seat on the Juventus board. This would allow them to take part in key decisions and help shape the future of the club from within. ............ Despite Tether’s growing stake and desire for more influence, the Agnelli family is unlikely to give up control. Their long-standing ownership and majority shareholding ensure they remain in charge of critical decisions, including board appointments and long-term planning. ............ .
