Many of which involve fantasy rather than fact. No doubt about it, there's even more fantasy football than during the months where the transfer windows are actually open for business. That's just how things go when there's only a couple of days of football to actually talk about during this latest two-week break from the Serie A grind. I guess what I'm trying to suggest is that this isn't your normal Tuttosport transfer rumor where Juventus are going to sell Paul Pogba and then buy four or five players with the cash they get. No, it involves Juventus keeping Mario Lemina around a little longer. And, according to that same Turin-based sports media outlet by the name of Tuttosport (via Football Italia), essentially under the same kind of conditions as his current deal — season-long loan, then an option to buy at the conclusion of the season. Yep, a Beppe Marotta loan-with-option-to-buy special. Or what brought Lemina to Turin in the first place, but just another round of it, that's all. Ever since Lemina arrived from Marseille over the summer on loan, the €9.5 million option to buy has been worked into the deal. But evaluating the 22-year-old midfielder hasn't exactly been easy. He's shown flashes, but his lengthy injury absence and limited playing have both prevented him from regular playing time and determining whether the transfer fee this summer to make the deal permanent is a good investment. And with Juve only competing on two fronts now — still sad about that, man — and only three points ahead of Napoli, the opportunities for playing time may be hard to come by knowing the circumstances. But hey, if it's a loan deal with the same kind of conditions as the current one is going to be the groundwork of something for next season, why not, right? Apr 11, 2016 Napoli are considering a bid for Olympique Marseille midfielder Mario Lemina, currently on loan at Juventus. The 22-year-old has a €10 million redemption clause in his loan contract with the Bianconeri, but the Turin club may not choose to execute it. According to Le10Sport, Napoli have joined Arsenal, Valencia, Sevilla, Leicester City and Borussia Dortmund in the pursuit of the former Lorient man, as coach Maurizio Sarri looks to add to his midfield depth for next season. However, the Gabon international’s fate with the Old Lady is not yet decided, as Juventus will reportedly attempt to extend the loan for another season. In this case, Lemina could be involved in negotiations regarding full-backs Paolo De Ceglie and Mauricio Isla, both currently on loan at the French club. The highly-rated youngster has struggled for playing time with the Bianconeri in this season, managing only seven Serie A appearances. Apr 29, 2016 The opportunities to see Mario Lemina in a Juventus jersey hasn't been all that frequent this season. Part of that is because who is playing in front of him, part of that had to do with his lengthy injury layoff right smack dab in the middle fo the season. But with a deadline approaching to resolve Lemina's future in Turin, something had to happen before the final day of May came and went. Those opportunities, after Friday's bit of news, look to be a little more fruitful come the future. Juventus have announced that they have bought the 22-year-old Lemina's contract outright from Marseille for the same €9.5 fee that was agreed upon back in late-August after the Gabon international has spent the past season on loan with the five-time Italian champions. With that, Lemina has signed a four-year contract with the club, tying him to Juventus until 2020. Here's the official press release from Juventus' public relations department that involves all of the fancy financial talk: Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces the exercise of the option right for the definitive acquisition of the player Mario Lemina from Olympique de Marseille SASP. The contract envisages the payment by Juventus of € 9.5 million in four instalments: € 3.5 million within 20 May 2016, € 1.5 million within 30 November 2016, € 1.5 million within 28 February 2017 and € 3 million within 30 July 2017. The purchase value may increase by € 1 million on achieving given sports performances in the course of the duration of the contract. The player contract will last until 30 June 2020. So, there you have it. Some folks thought that maybe Beppe Marotta would swing a deal where Lemina's loan deal is extended another season just to continue that low-risk evaluation process. There's also the line of thinking that maybe, just maybe, this new deal involves the player who went to Marseille on the same day in August, wingback Mauricio Isla, also having his contract made permanent in some kind of swap deal. But the fact still remains that Lemina is now officially a Juventus player and on a permanent basis. And based on how he has played for the most part in his last handful of appearances, that doesn't seem like too bad of a development. May 4, 2016 Mario Lemina is looking forward to his future in Turin and “my dream is to win the Champions League with Juventus.” The midfielder was on loan from Olympique Marseille and last week the club activated its option to buy for €9.5m. “I am happy that the club had faith in me,” Lemina told Sky Sport Italia. “This season I had a few fitness problems, but thanks to help from Juve I overcame all of it. I am satisfied with my performances and the team really supported me. “I take any role the Coach assigns to me and give my all to prove I can play well in various positions. I adapt to my position on the field. “You have to work really hard here. Juventus are a very rigorous club, so there is great focus on how you work and prepare for games. “I am happy here and get along with everyone, though of course I bonded more with Paul Pogba and Patrice Evra because they speak French. “If I had to name a player who really impressed me, I’d have to say Gigi Buffon. He has this great ability of making everyone feel confident. “I hope to be a protagonist at Juventus in future. My dream is to win the Champions League with Juventus. The team went close last year, while this season we were just a little unlucky against a great side like Bayern Munich.” Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

The player joined from Olympique Marseille on loan with option to buy, which Juve activated in May for €9.5m. He still managed to score two goals in just 10 Serie A appearances, including one against Napoli. Leicester’s first choice is Nampalys Mendy of OGC Nice and they are making the same offer for his signature. Hey, it made sense. And considering Juve's midfield is one of the most crowded and competitive places for playing time on the squad, it was actually a logical transfer rumor to digest. (Yes, those are possible.) But, if Lemina was on the market, it seems as though that has changed. According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport Italia, Lemina is no longer on the transfer market, with Juventus reportedly no longer interested in having the young midfielder be a potential source of cash to potentially use on another player despite having a handful of teams bidding for the 22-year-old's services. Using Lemina as a human influx of cash seems unlikely now. And, honestly, that's the way it should be. How much of this report has to do with Paul Pogba's future aside, Lemina clearly showed the Juventus management enough for them to buy him outright for €9.5 million back in late-April. At 22 years old, there's obviously plenty of room to grow as a player. But from what we've seen so far in his brief Juventus career — one where he's had to deal with a lengthy injury layoff, too — that there is quite a solid base to build on. And if Pogba makes his way to Manchester as well as the fact that Sami Khedira is known for dealing with an injury or two of his own throughout the year, well, there's going to be even more potential for a bigger role in Juve's midfield this upcoming season. That's a good thing, though. As Lemina showed us at the end of last season, when he does get a fair bit of consistent playing time, he can do a thing or two to impress us all. Funny how that works, huh? Condividi questo messaggio Link di questo messaggio Condividi su altri siti

That’s not an assurance Arsenal could provide at this juncture given the quality they have in this area. What the Juventus man may do is continue to battle for a spot in the side in Turin. His early-season performances have cemented his status as the main deputy in this area, and over the course of a long campaign, he’ll get plenty of chances to impress.
