Juventus supporters lined the streets to welcome the club’s first new arrival of the summer transfer window: Jonathan David, who has undergone a medical with the Bianconeri and is now just awaiting an official announcement.

David is set to join the Bianconeri on a free transfer after the expiry of his deal with Lille in Ligue 1 at the end of the 2024-25 season.

While the move is cited as a ‘free transfer’, it is understood that Juventus will spend in excess of €15m on signing bonuses and auxiliary fees. ............

The Canada international arrived in Italy to complete his medical on Friday, and was welcomed by over 200 supporters outside JMedical, the club’s medical facility.

He was able to stop for a couple of quick selfies and to sign one or two shirts in the crowd, before heading into the building to complete the final formalities of his Juventus move.

How long should Koopmeiners and Luiz remain before Juve decides their futures?

Douglas Luiz meglio di Koopmeiners: tutti d'accordo, l'olandese è bocciato - CalcioMercato.it

Teun Koopmeiners and Douglas Luiz both joined Juventus during the summer transfer window as part of the club’s effort to overhaul their midfield. Following the appointment of Thiago Motta as manager, Juventus sought to adopt a new tactical approach and identity, beginning with the signing of Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa. ............

Before the transfer window closed, Juventus secured the addition of Koopmeiners, completing a double midfield reinforcement that was intended to transform the heart of the team. ............

Juventus have since replaced Motta with Igor Tudor, but the struggles of Luiz and Koopmeiners have continued. Despite tactical changes and a new voice in the dressing room, neither midfielder has been able to replicate their prior form. ............

There is an argument to be made that the Bianconeri should consider offloading both players while they still hold market value. Persisting with underperformers can be costly, especially for a club that demands silverware and high-level performance every season. Juventus may soon have to make a difficult but necessary decision regarding their midfield.

Why Osimhen could replace Kolo Muani at Juventus

Kolo Muani al posto di Osimhen: il ribaltone clamoroso è deciso - Spazio Napoli

Victor Osimhen continues to be strongly linked with a move to Juventus as the club prepares for a major shake-up in their attacking department. With Dusan Vlahovic likely to leave in the current transfer window, the Bianconeri are exploring options to find a high-quality replacement capable of leading the line more effectively. ............

The Bianconeri also face a decision involving Randal Kolo Muani, who has spent the past few months on loan and made a strong impression. Juventus are interested in retaining the French forward on a permanent basis, but finances could limit their ability to secure both him and Osimhen.

Although Kolo Muani earns less than Osimhen in net salary, a crucial financial detail may swing the club’s decision in favour of the Nigerian. Osimhen’s wages fall under the Growth Decree, which means the club would not have to pay full tax on his salary. This regulation could significantly reduce the overall financial burden of the deal, making Osimhen a more practical acquisition despite his higher headline salary. ............

Juventus are currently weighing the sporting and financial benefits of both players. Osimhen is widely regarded as one of the best strikers in world football, while Kolo Muani offers versatility and has already adapted to the squad. However, with budget constraints in play, the Growth Decree’s tax advantage could make Osimhen a more attractive option. ............

Vlahovic refused to join Napoli in exchange for Osimhen

Calciomercato Juve, i destini simili di Osimhen e Vlahovic

Juventus are still determined to find a way to bring in Victor Osimhen, but Dusan Vlahovic has reportedly disrupted their latest plan. ............

Many believe that this is due to the 26-year-old’s hefty salary and Aurelio De Laurentiis’ asking price of €75 million (which is the value of the player’s release clause).

Nevertheless, Juventus are looking to play their cards, even though they can’t activate the player’s release clause which is only valid for clubs outside Italy. ............

The Bianconeri offered Napoli the services of Vlahovic as part of the package to sign Osimhen.

Damien Comolli and Co. were hoping to convince their southern rivals by offering them a ready-made replacement for their exiled striker.

But as is often the case with swap deals, the negotiations never truly took off the ground. The source claims that Vlahovic utterly rejected the destination. ............

In recent days, it has also been claimed that Juventus are aiming to rescind the player’s contract by offering severance pay, as they are determined to take the 25-year-old off their books one way or the other.

Man Utd 'consider' Juventus' swap proposal for Jadon Sancho as Serie A giants offer Douglas Luiz in exchange for wantaway winger | Goal.com

Reports from Italy claim that Juventus are open to sending former Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz to Manchester United, in hopes it will help them get a deal for Jadon Sancho over the line. ............

The reports suggest that alternatively to a player swap, the Old Lady are willing to cough up €25 million plus bonuses for the English winger, who spent last season on loan with Chelsea. ............

The fee is not the only hurdle, however, with Sancho’s reported wage demand of €8 million per season above the €6-7 million that the Bianconeri wish to offer (putting him on a par with new signing Jonathan David). ............

Jonathan David has officially signed a five-year contract with Juventus after passing his medical, the Canada international arriving as a free agent.

According to reports, his contract is worth €6m per season plus bonuses up to €2m.

He flew in this morning and spent all day undergoing medical tests before putting pen to paper. ............

The 25-year-old had made the move from KAA Gent to Lille in 2020 for €27m, but then allowed his contract to run down on June 30.

Although he is a free agent, this was by no means a cost-free transfer, because there were huge sums for the commission of his representatives.

The official figure stated by Juventus is €12.5m, payable over three years. ............

Last season, David found the net 25 times with 12 assists in 49 competitive games for LOSC between Ligue 1, the Champions League and Coupe de France.

New Juventus signing Jonathan David assures he always saw them as ‘one of the top 10 biggest clubs in the world’ and he is ‘very excited’ to start his Serie A career. ............

“Growing up as a kid, I always looked up to a club like Juventus and thought, this is probably one of the top 10 biggest clubs in the world,” David told the official Bianconeri website.

“So for me to be sitting here today is an honour.” ............

“As a player I love to score, I love to be in the game and find ways to combine, to get my teammates involved. My biggest strength is just finding space and being in the right place at the right time.” ............

“I’m very excited. Every step of the way is always a challenge, so coming to Serie A is also a challenge to adapt to the league, adapt to my teammates, and to be as successful as possible.”

David is also the first ever Canadian to play for Juventus, although not the first to represent his country in Serie A.

“It feels good. I am trying to pave the way for other Canadians who have the talent to one day do the same things I am doing now.” ............

“I hope we have a great season and to do everything to win titles here.”

Juventus refuses to give up on bringing Ligue 1 defender to Turin

Leonardo Balerdi Argentina

Juventus have been pursuing Leonardo Balerdi for several weeks, maintaining consistent interest in the defender and attempting to initiate talks with Olympique Marseille. The Bianconeri are eager to bring the centre-back to Turin, yet their advances have so far been met with firm resistance from the French club.

Balerdi has established himself as a crucial figure at Marseille, regularly delivering strong performances when called upon. ............

Juventus are particularly keen to reunite Balerdi with Igor Tudor, who previously managed him at Marseille. The former manager’s familiarity with the player is seen as an advantage, and Juventus believe Balerdi would fit seamlessly into their defensive system under Tudor’s leadership. However Marseille have shown no willingness to enter negotiations with the Bianconeri.

The Ligue 1 club have reportedly made their stance clear. They will not entertain any discussions unless the offer presented is overwhelmingly in their favour. ............

Despite the obstacles, Juventus have not abandoned its pursuit. The same report indicates that the club remain determined to add Balerdi to their squad, viewing him as a valuable long-term asset. The Bianconeri are said to be monitoring the situation closely in the hope that conditions might change, allowing for a more favourable negotiation. ............

Juventus enquire about affordable Leicester City midfielder

He'll leave Leicester City - Brown confirms EPL club interested in signing Wilfred Ndidi - Daily Post Nigeria

Juventus are reportedly interested in the services of Leicester City wantaway Wilfred Ndidi who could leave the club for a relatively low amount.

The Nigerian is a defensive midfielder who has been playing his football at King Power Stadium since 2017. Last year, he signed a contract extension that pushed back the deadline until June 2027, but the deal also includes a release clause worth £9 million. ............

Juventus have emerged as a surprising suitor, offering Ndidi an alternative destination to the Premier League, as well as the opportunity to play in the Champions League.

The Bianconeri have made a concrete move on this track, enquiring about the conditions to bring the Lagos native to Continassa. ............

Although the Nigeria captain doesn’t represent the most exciting option for the fanbase, it appears that the newly minted Juventus management, led by Damien Comolli, appreciates the player’s profile, especially given the low cost.

Moreover, Igor Tudor’s squad will likely require one or more additions in the middle of the park. After all, Douglas Luiz is widely expected to depart after a disappointing year at the Allianz Stadium, while Weston McKennie could follow him to the exit door. ............

Sancho keen on Juventus move, asks the club to accelerate the deal

Man United-spelers trekken in kleedkamer pijnlijke conclusie over Jadon Sancho

Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho has given his preference to Juventus and wants the Serie A giants to take the speed up a notch.

The Bianconeri already have an agreement in principle with Man Utd who are desperate to offload the 25-year-old as soon as possible, as the winger is considered surplus to requirements in Ruben Amorim’s books.

Juve are expected to pay the Red Devils a transfer fee of €25 million to seal the deal. Nevertheless, Damien Comolli and Co. must still find an accord with Sancho and his entourage on personal terms. ............

The winger has agreed to accept a significant salary cut, dropping wage demands well below the €10M mark. For their part, Juventus had first proposed a salary of €5 million per year in addition to bonuses, but have now increased their offer.

Hence, a new round of talks should take place in the coming hours, as Juventus and Sancho will try to close the deal this week. ............

Juventus, Lille chasing Bissouma’s services

Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester United - UEFA Europa League Final 2025

Tottenham Hotspur have a bit of a central midfield problem. Their two most senior players, Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma, both have only one year remaining on their contracts and both are in their late twenties. As such, Spurs are likely looking to move one (or both) on, with Bissouma indicated as the most likely mover.

Thus far, links to possible destinations have been relatively quiet through the summer, but a number of tenuous links have begun to filter through for the Malian, with Juventus and Lille mooted as possible destinations. ............

The Italian story indicates the Juventus interest is being driven specifically by their GM, Damien Comolli, Spurs’ former Director of Football. It’s this history that could aid negotiations, claiming that Comolli has an excellent relationship with Daniel Levy from his time at the club, and that he hopes he can perhaps secure Bissouma for less than Spurs’ suggested valuation of €15-20 million. It then goes on to note a couple of potential complications in any deal, with Juventus’ squad limitations meaning a Bissouma signing could possibly scupper further overseas signings, as well as competing interest from other (English) clubs. ............

Bissouma’s agents are shopping him around a few clubs, and that his former club Lille are interested on bringing Yves back to France.

All in all, there’s not much new here - but it does sound like good news for Spurs, with a number of clubs likely interested in Bissouma who at this point seems a little like the odd man out. ............

Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho pushing for Juventus move

manchester-united-v-wolverhampton-wanderers-premier-league-1170x780.jpg

Serie A giants Juventus are trying to sign Jadon Sancho from Manchester United and the player is now pushing to join the Bianconeri.

The Englishman had also attracted interest from Napoli but he is focused on only joining the Old Lady. ............

There is a basic agreement for the move, with Manchester United demanding €25 million. Sancho has also agreed to significantly reduce his wages and even if there is still a gap between the two parties, work is ongoing in the right direction.

Two other clubs are also interested in the wide playmaker, but Sancho is only keen on joining Juve and doesn’t want to wait for too long. ............

Juventus are considering reinforcing their midfield with Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi, who is available for a €9m release clause this summer. ............

The Nigeria international will turn 29 in December and is available for a €9m release clause following the Foxes’ relegation from the Premier League in 2024-25.

Ndidi should not be considered as a replacement for Douglas Luiz, as the pair has different skill sets. ............

Ndidi has been playing for Leicester City since 2017, when he completed a €17m transfer from Belgian side Genk. His contract expires in 2027. ............

Blow for Juventus as Victor Osimhen picks his favourite club

Victor Osimhen in action for Galatasaray

Victor Osimhen remains one of the most sought-after strikers in world football, and his future continues to be the subject of significant speculation. The Nigerian forward has reportedly drawn interest from Juventus, who have been monitoring him since last season, when he spent time on loan at Galatasaray. ............

Galatasaray have submitted a bid of €50 million for the Nigerian striker. The report further states that Osimhen is keen on a return to Türkiye and has given the move to Galatasaray priority over other options, including Juventus. ............

Osimhen’s apparent decision to favour Galatasaray may reflect the contrasting levels of intent shown by the respective clubs. While Juventus remain linked, their lack of proactive engagement has potentially allowed Galatasaray to gain the upper hand. For a player of Osimhen’s calibre, a return to a club where he previously enjoyed success and where the ambition is clear may understandably be the more attractive option. ............

Why Juventus is targeting a move for Wilfred Ndidi

Wilfred-Ndidi1.jpg

Juventus are reportedly considering a move for Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi as the club continues to evaluate reinforcements for its squad. Following Leicester’s relegation at the end of last season, Ndidi is expected to depart, with the midfielder keen to avoid playing in the second tier of English football. ............

Ndidi, who has enjoyed several successful seasons in the Premier League, presents an attractive opportunity. Juventus are reportedly open to the idea of signing him if his price remains within a manageable range. The club’s management is said to be considering a deal in the region of 10 million euros, a figure they believe represents good value for a player of his experience and calibre. ............

The low transfer fee is a major factor behind Juventus’ interest in the Leicester City midfielder. Given the financial demands of top-level football, securing a player of Ndidi’s profile at such a cost is viewed as a potentially smart piece of business.

Ndidi has built a reputation as a reliable and disciplined presence in midfield. His ability to win the ball and shield the defence could be a strong complement to Juventus’ existing tactical structure. ............

Fiorentina gives up on keeping Juventus target and open door for his exit

Dodo

Juventus have received a significant boost in its pursuit of Dodo as they look to strengthen their defensive options ahead of the new campaign. The right back has been on the radar of several Serie A clubs, but Juventus are now in a stronger position to make a move. ............

Fiorentina are prepared to sell the defender if he does not sign a new contract soon. They have reportedly set an asking price of €25 million for his services. This price is seen as achievable by Juventus, who are working to reinforce their squad for the upcoming season. ............

Dodo has been among the standout performers in his position, attracting interest for his consistent displays and attacking contribution from the flanks. Juventus believe he fits the profile they are seeking and is encouraged by the latest developments. ............

With right back a position that needs attention in the current squad, Dodo could be the ideal solution. Juventus are expected to push forward in the coming days to assess the viability of completing the transfer before the market becomes more competitive.

Juventus are moving forwards in an attempt to sign former Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka from Bayer Leverkusen, and recent reports in Italy reveal the asking price and the personal terms needed to close the deal.  ............

The 32-year-old is an enticing option for the Bianconeri given his experience and importantly his reliability: The Switzerland international has started in all but three of Bayer Leverkusen’s league fixtures over the last two seasons and he has not missed more than one league game in a row since 2021. ............

Additionally, Bayer Leverkusen’s asking price of €15m is considerably lower than some of the other midfield profiles Juventus have been evaluating.

The likes of Morten Hjulmand and Florentino Luis, other midfielders reportedly of interest to The Old Lady, are both expected to cost somewhere in the region of €40m. ............

Given his age, turning 33 in September, Xhaka is expected to seek his last ‘big’ contract of his career.

Tuttosport claims that an offer of around €3.5m per season in wages, which would be an increase on his current salary, ought to be enough to strike a deal with the Switzerland international.

Juventus planning to make seven more summer signings – The main candidates revealed

Juventus, Comolli si presenta: il metodo sul mercato, niente scouting, pochi video, l'odio per la

Juventus have already announced the capture of Jonathan David who became the club’s first official summer signing, but another seven are expected to follow suit. ............

The club’s General Director Damien Comolli and his collaborators are aiming to sign another seven players this summer to present Igor Tudor with a squad capable of implementing his ideas and challenging on all fronts.

The first name on the shortlist might be Jadon Sancho who is set to leave Manchester United this summer. ............

Moreover, the Serie A giants are determined to keep Randal Kolo Muani and Francisco Conceicao following their loan stints last season, so they continue to negotiate with Paris Saint-Germain and Porto. ............

Kolo Muani and Conceicao

At least one new midfielder will be required, with Bayer Leverkusen veteran Granit Xhaka emerging as a popular candidate in Turin.

Likewise, Timothy Weah is reportedly close to sealing a transfer to Olympique Marseille, so a new wingback is expected at Continassa. Fiorentina’s Dodo is considered the preferred choice for this particular role.

Juventus also need a new second-choice goalkeeper as Mattia Perin looks to be on his way out of the club, in addition to a new centre-back to bolster the defensive department.
