OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL: Wojciech Szczesny has surgery after breaking nose

Looks like Juve’s No. 1 could be sporting a cool mask the next time we see him take the field.

Torino FC v Juventus - Serie A TIM

 ...............

Szczesny, with his arms fully outstretched, caught an inadvertent elbow from Torino substitute Adam Masina, causing the Polish keeper to crash to the ground in obvious pain. About 12 hours after the final whistle sounded at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, we found out that what we expected to be the diagnosis after the big collision was indeed true — Szczesny broke his noise and had to undergo surgery to put things back in proper alignment, Juventus said in a statement on their website Sunday morning.

“The surgery went perfectly successful,” it read.

Szczesny is only expected to miss Friday’s trip to Sardinia against Cagliari. If that’s the case, that means Mattia Perin would play in back-to-back games for just the second time this season as he will make his usual Coppa Italia start the following Tuesday against Lazio, with Szczesny likely returning to the starting lineup on May 5 when Juve face Roma at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. ...............

Wojciech Szczesny has an offer from Saudi Arabia, but wants to stay at Juventus

Wojciech Szczesny of Juventus F.C. seen during Coppa Italia...

The way Juventus’ goalkeeper situation appears from the outside looking in at the beginning of June, there’s only two seats available for three very talented players. Juventus are expected to announce the signing of Monza’s Michele Di Gregorio, the top keeper in Serie A this past season, rather soon, with the top two names on the depth chart in Turin very much looking like they’re heading into major decision-making times about their respective careers.

That’s especially true for the man with No. 1 on the back of his jersey and started all but three of Juventus’ Serie A fixture during the 2023-24 campaign.

According to Tuttosport on Tuesday, Wojciech Szczesny has received a very lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia recently, with a reported annual salary in the neighborhood of €15 million. The thing is, that is reportedly not really something Szczesny wants to accept. That’s because it’s reported that Szczesny isn’t exactly interested in moving to the Saudi Pro League this summer, instead preferring to stay at Juventus — where his contract runs until 2025 — or, if he were to leave, play in Europe.

Szczesny is currently one of Juventus’ highest earners at €6.5 million net a season.

You’ll notice I have yet to mention the third goalkeeper in this potential merry-go-round, and that is Mattia Perin. When the Di Gregorio rumors first started, it was somewhat expected that Perin would be the one who’s leaving this summer because he would want to seek regular playing time as his mid-30s approach. Now, with Szczesny’s future very much up in the air, Perin’s status might be more dependent on what Szczesny ends up doing more than anything else. ...............

While Szczesny had yet another very strong season in goal with Juventus yet again in the recently completed campaign, that might not be enough for him to prevent Di Gregorio from becoming Motta’s top choice for the starting keeper role next season. ...............

Al-Nassr 'open talks to sign Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny'

Arsenal consider move to bring Szczesny back from Juventus - report

Wojciech Szczesny could be the latest name to head to the Saudi Pro League after Al-Nassr opened talks with Juventus over the Polish goalie. ...............

According to Fabrizio Romano, the two clubs have begun discussions over a possible deal to bring the goalkeeper to the Middle East.

With the Italian club set to seal a deal for Monza stopper Michele Di Gregorio and talks with Mattia Perin to begin over a new contract, they have given the green light for Szczesny to leave.

The decision now ultimately lies with the Pole on if he wants to end his spell in Italy with the Old Lady. ...............

If he does choose to make the switch to Al-Nassr, he'll join Cristiano Ronaldo at the Saudi club, as well as Sadio Mane and former Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte. ...............

Wojciech Szczesny has reportedly agreed personal terms with Al-Nassr as Juventus look to ship him out this summer.

The Bianconeri have decided to make a change ahead of the new season, ready to welcome a new number one to replace the Polish veteran. Their primary target to replace the 34-year-old is Monza’s Michele Di Gregorio and a deal in the region of €18m plus €2m in add-ons is close to being finalised.

Szczesny had been hoping to stay at Juventus and retain his starting spot, but the club made their feelings apparent, disappointing the goalkeeper. The former Arsenal man has been with the Old Lady since July 2017, having arrived from Arsenal in a deal worth around €18.4m.

Szczesny has verbally agreed to the terms of a two-year contract with Al-Nassr, worth around €19m net per season. Talks are now ongoing between the Saudi side and Juventus. ...............

CRISTIANO RONALDO PROVES KEY IN AL NASSR’S MOVE FOR JUVENTUS’ WOJCIECH SZCZESNY

1006171265-scaled.jpg

Serie A giants Juventus seem rather set to lose goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny and he seems close to sealing a move to Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr.

Juve are all but set to sign Monza’s Michele di Gregorio already and they already have a replacement in mind for the Polish goalkeeper. Alfredo Pedulla has reported that tomorrow is an important day in the saga involving Al Nassr and the Pole, who feels that Di Gregorio’s arrival has brought an end to his Juve adventure. ...............

As a result, Juve would be able to free about 13 million per season for their wages and the sale could prove to be a real positive for them.

How much will Juventus earn from Wojciech Szczęsny’s departure?

Prolongation ou départ en juin 2024 pour Wojciech Szczesny ? |Juventus-fr.com

Juventus is one of the luckiest clubs in the world right now, as they are about to sell off a high-earning employee faster than they had expected.

The Bianconeri have worked hard to reduce their team’s average wage and have been looking to offload some high earners, especially those considered replaceable. ...............

Thiago Motta is expected to make Di Gregorio his first choice, which means Juve has to offload Wojciech Szczęsny, who is simply too good to stay on the bench.

Perhaps more importantly, he makes too much money, with the ex-Arsenal star earning 6.5 million euros per season.

He is now being targeted for a move by Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, and he seems open to the move.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s team will pay Juve 5 million euros for his signature, but the most important thing is that the Bianconeri will save almost 20 million euros in his wages. ...............

Why Wojciech Szczęsny has not completed his move to Saudi Arabia

Juventus Ingin Lepas Wojciech Szczesny, Klub Asal Arab Saudi Siapkan 30 Juta Euro - Tribunbatam.id

Wojciech Szczęsny is set to leave Juventus and move to Saudi Arabia as the Bianconeri prepare to start afresh with a new number one.

The club has been pleased with the Pole’s performances, but they have also secured an agreement to sign Monza’s Michele di Gregorio and install him as their first-choice goalkeeper. ...............

This means Wojciech Szczęsny will be relegated to the bench, but fortunately, he is now being courted by Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, who have offered him a salary that he cannot refuse.

Juve is pleased with this development, even though they desire more money in transfer fees. ...............

The deal has not been finalised yet because Juve is holding out for more than the 4 million euros that Al Nassr has offered them so far.

However, the move is still expected to be completed at the conclusion of Euro 2024. ...............

Wojciech Szczesny’s move to Saudi Arabia appears to be on hold

This could end up making things complicated.

Football final of the Italian Cup Atalanta v Juventus

The reality has certainly started to set in: There will be a changing of the guard between the posts at Juventus come the start of the 2024-25 season. Juve have lined up a new goalkeeper and we’re all now just awaiting the official announcement for the man who will take over for Wojciech Szczesny.

So what about Szczesny?

In what is probably a surprise to some knowing that previous reports had him thinking of going out in a little bit of a different kind of way, Szczesny has looked to be on the verge of a move to Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League and a big pay day to follow. But, according to a report from Fabrizio Romano on Wednesday night, that move is now suddenly on hold due to “problems between clubs” and a potential disagreement between Al-Nassr and the rest of the Saudi Pro League when it comes to signing Szczesny. (The Saudi Pro League recently revoked a rule that has cleared a way for foreign goalkeepers to be signed starting this summer.)

It has been reported Szczesny could earn as much as €19 million per season in his proposed two-year contract with Al-Nassr. ...............

Now, things are apparently on hold. ...............

Maybe the sudden issues relating to the Saudi Pro League side of things resolve themselves and Szczesny can move and Juve have 100% cleared the way for Di Gregorio to take over as their starter in goal. But for now, things are a little murkier than they appeared a day or two ago.

Wojciech Szczesny’s transfer from Juventus now at risk of collapse

When will Juventus start talks with Wojciech Szczesny over a new deal? | Juvefc.com

At the start of yesterday, it seemed Juventus was closer than ever to selling Wojciech Szczesny to Al Nassr.

With Michele Di Gregorio arriving as their new number one this summer, it is important for Juventus to sell the Poland international. ...............

They are estimated to save over 6 million euros from his departure even if they do not earn a transfer fee, but Al Nassr is prepared to pay 4 million euros to sign him.

Juve wants more, and that may become a problem with the Saudis looking to complete the deal quickly.

Fabrizio Romano has now delivered an update on the transfer and revealed the deal is currently on standby.

He claims there is a problem in the negotiations and that both parties are no longer speaking.

This could put the deal at risk and force Szczesny to remain at Juve for another season, even though he would only be their second choice. ...............
