Confirmation has arrived that Andrea Cambiaso will be ruled out of the next two Juventus matches through suspension for violent conduct after his side’s 2-0 victory over Parma in the opening round of 2025-26 Serie A fixtures. ............

With a two-match suspension now confirmed, Cambiaso will be unavailable for Juventus’s upcoming Serie A match against his hometown team, Genoa, and will also be ruled out of the Derby d’Italia against rivals Inter after the international break.  ............

Cambiaso’s suspension will not apply to international fixtures should he be called up to Gennaro Gattuso’s Italy national team squad later this week.  ............

Conte sees Juventus back inside the Serie A top three

Conte and Tudor - friends reunited in the Champions League | Tottenham Hotspur

Napoli manager Antonio Conte has shared his views on the Serie A title race this season, highlighting Juventus as one of the clubs he expects to be in contention. ............

Despite their recent inconsistencies, Juventus remain widely regarded as one of the favourites for the Scudetto. Their historical pedigree as the most successful club in Italian football ensures that they are always mentioned among the possible contenders. However, their activity in the current transfer window has been limited, and questions remain about whether they have strengthened sufficiently to mount a sustained challenge.

Conte, who knows the demands of Serie A title races well, believes that Juventus will still be firmly in the conversation this season. He remarked:

“This will be a very balanced championship. I see the return of the big three (Juve, Inter and AC Milan), but for Inter it’s not a return; they did very well last year and have been there for years, consistently having strong seasons. The other two big teams will definitely return, with strong squads and the right equipment to do well. We’ll have to try to do our best, and in the end, the results will be drawn.” ............

For Juventus, the challenge will be to combine their tradition of success with renewed consistency under current management. While recent years have been turbulent, their squad still boasts quality and experience, giving them a realistic chance to compete at the top. ............

Two Juventus players vying to replace suspended Cambiaso in Genoa

Forza Juventus on X: "Dušan Vlahović x Filip Kostić x Weston McKennie. https://t.co/UA1jERcvBU" / X

Juventus manager Igor Tudor must choose between two players for the left wingback role, which has been vacated by Andrea Cambiaso’s suspension. ............

The 25-year-old will now serve a two-match ban. Hence, he won’t take part in the action against his former club, Genoa, this weekend, and the same applies to the Derby d’Italia against Inter after the international break.

Therefore, Tudor will have to come up with a solution to replace his first-choice wingback.

Weston McKennie has emerged as the favourite for the role. ............

The alternative choice would be Filip Kostic, who represents a more natural option down the left flank.

The 32-year-old returned to Turin in June following a loan spell at Fenerbahce, and has been reintegrated by Tudor, who seemingly appreciates his credentials. ............

Preview: Genoa vs Juventus - prediction, team news, lineups

Genoa vs Juventus Voorspelling Serie A

Having made a fine start to the new Serie A campaign, Juventus will head to Genoa for their first road trip of the season on Sunday.

The Bianconeri claimed maximum points last weekend, when this week's hosts were held to a goalless draw at Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Match preview

After penning Parma in for almost an hour, Juventus finally broke through via a cute finish from summer signing Jonathan David, who set his new club up for success on Serie A's opening matchday.

Contract rebel Dusan Vlahovic then appeared from the bench to add a killer second, shortly after Andrea Cambiaso was senselessly sent off for violent conduct.

It was a satisfactory start to a campaign that comes after another year of turmoil at the Turin club: they only scraped into fourth place last term after interim boss Igor Tudor impressively steadied the ship.

Handed a longer contract, Tudor then led Juve into the Club World Cup - where they reached the last 16 - before following a shortened pre-season with victory over Parma.

The Bianconeri have now lost just one of 10 Serie A matches under their Croatian coach, who posted win number 150 of his managerial career last weekend.

Having also lost only once in 10 league meetings with Genoa - claiming maximum points last season - history suggests they can prevail at Marassi. ............

Genoa Serie A form: D

Genoa form (all competitions): W D

Juventus Serie A form: W

Team News

Juventus will be without versatile wing-back Cambiaso - who serves the first game of a two-match ban - plus injured duo Juan Cabal and Fabio Miretti, the latter of whom impressed on loan at Marassi last season.

Nicolo Savona is set to join Nottingham Forest, so with Cambiaso unavailable, utility man Weston McKennie may be asked to fill in on the flank.

As an endless contract saga has seen Vlahovic slip out of favour, David is set to lead the visitors' attack.

Since March, Kenan Yildiz has recorded 11 goal involvements across all competitions - a high for any Serie A player during that period - and he should link up with David in the final third. ............

Genoa possible starting lineup: Leali; Norton-Cuffy, Ostigard, Vasquez, Martin; Frendrup, Masini; Carboni, Stanciu, Gronbaek; Colombo

Juventus possible starting lineup: Di Gregorio; Gatti, Bremer, Kelly; Kalulu, Thuram, Locatelli, McKennie; Conceicao, Yildiz; David

We say: Genoa 0-1 Juventus

Juventus not only have a good record in Genoa, but they also showed some potential last weekend.

Whether they are ready to mount a title challenge remains to be seen, but the Bianconeri should be more than capable of beating their Rossoblu rivals.

Genoa boss insists Juventus is stronger than they were last year

Juventus-Genoa: esordio per Tudor, l'ex Vieira sfida il passato

Genoa manager Patrick Vieira is preparing his side for a significant challenge as they take on a Juventus team that has been revitalised and strengthened under new leadership. The Bianconeri have undergone considerable improvement since Igor Tudor took charge, and the atmosphere around the club is now more positive compared to the difficulties of last season. ............

The arrival of Tudor has brought stability, organisation and renewed belief to Juventus. The squad is widely regarded as one of the most complete in Italy, boasting both established stars and emerging talents. With this strength, Juventus will not want to lose ground in the early stages of the season, and the clash against Genoa presents an opportunity to demonstrate their progress.

Genoa, by contrast, approach the match with less expectation and therefore more freedom. Playing at home, they will aim to disrupt their opponents’ rhythm and exploit any weaknesses. However, Vieira himself has been clear in recognising that this Juventus side represents a tougher challenge than the one his team faced last season. ............

Speaking ahead of the game, Vieira said: “We all agree that Conceiçao on the right and Yildiz up front have quality. Collectively, this Juve is stronger than last year, and that’s why we must be ready to face a team that wants to win the league. In front of our fans, we’ve always performed well, even against big teams, and we want to try to win.” ............

Surprise name could replace Cambiaso for Genoa match

Filip Kostic looking on

Andrea Cambiaso is set to miss Juventus’ upcoming fixture against Genoa after receiving a red card in the recent match against Parma. His dismissal was undoubtedly a setback for the Bianconeri, yet the team demonstrated resilience and quality by still managing to secure victory. Despite that success, the absence of Cambiaso in the next matches represents a challenge that cannot be overlooked. ............

Genoa are expected to provide a difficult test, as matches between the two sides are rarely straightforward. Nevertheless, Juventus remain considered the stronger team and will approach the match with the belief that they can secure all three points. The task for Tudor lies in selecting a reliable option to cover Cambiaso’s absence and ensuring the balance of the squad is maintained. ............

Filip Kostic is currently regarded as the leading candidate to fill the role at left back. The report outlines that Kostic’s extensive experience makes him a dependable choice, particularly given his familiarity with the position. His versatility has often been an asset, and his ability to adapt ensures that Juventus can maintain both defensive stability and attacking threat from the left side. ............

Juventus head coach Igor Tudor has urged his players to maintain their strong mentality as they prepare for Sunday’s tricky away clash against Genoa. ............

“It’s been a good week, the lads have worked very well and the atmosphere is positive,” Tudor said, “Tomorrow we need to deliver a great performance. Genoa do not give you anything for free, they run a lot and are tough and well organised. And we know about the stadium. We must do well if we want to take points.” ............

“It could have been better or worse but there are always going to be difficult matches. When the lads see the Champions League, everything changes. We enjoyed the draw together because we earned it with great sacrifice.” ............

“I’ve already explained what I needed to. The market is complicated, there are still two days left so we will see what happens. I am happy with the squad I have, sometimes consistency is undervalued.” ............

Tudor hinted at tactical flexibility, suggesting Juventus could adapt to a 3-5-2 with two strikers, including Dusan Vlahovic who was, for large swathes of the summer, linked heavily away from the club. Tudor also clarified that there had been “no rejection” of Argentine winger Nico Gonzalez, who the coach described as “a player of real quality.” ............

“Genoa are very organised, everyone runs. If we can match that, we have the quality to get a result. If we do not… then we will have problems.”

Genoa vs Juventus: Preview and Prediction

PREVIEW | Genoa vs Juventus - team news, lineups, predictions - Yahoo Sports

 ............

Igor Tudor was handed a longer contract than his short-term role when he was installed in place of the ineffective Thiago Motta last season. Having led Juventus to a Champions League finish, the Croatian manager also oversaw their Club World Cup campaign that saw them reach the Last 16 of the competition.

However, with the new season already underway, Tudor ensured Juventus opened their Serie A account with a win over Parma. The victory took time to develop as Parma held their own for around an hour before new signing Jonathan David opened the scoring. Dusan Vlahovic then came off the bench to kill the game off with a crucial second strike as the Bianconeri collected the three points.

There are some key challenges ahead for Juventus before they can express themselves thoroughly. For Tudor, establishing this team as an early contender for the title will be the aim, and he could push towards that objective by winning the upcoming tricky away encounter to Genoa.

Team News & Tactics

Genoa

 ............

Probable Lineup (4-2-3-1): Leali; Norton-Cuffy, Ostigard, Vasquez, Martin; Frendrup, Masini; Carboni, Stanciu, Gronbaek; Colombo

zSdibJtxGikICdFyTr4s_C6c.png

Juventus

Igor Tudor will have to contend with a few of his injured players, such as Fabio Miretti and Juan Cabal. Moreover, Andrea Cambiaso will miss out with a suspension following his sending off against Parma in the opening game. There are further issues in the defensive setup as Nicolo Savona has joined Nottingham Forest.

Hence, Weston McKennie will be called into taking up a wing-back role in the lineup. Dusan Vlahovic is widely expected to leave the club before the transfer deadline, although he might feature on the bench, with new arrival Jonathan David expected to lead the line for Juventus once more.

Federico Gatti, Gleison Bremer, and Lloyd Kelly are in the mix for the back-three setup. Khephren Thuram and Manuel Locatelli will be preferred in the central midfield role, while the in-form Kenan Yildiz and Francisco Conceicao will be in the slots behind the striker.

Probable Lineup (3-4-2-1): Di Gregorio; Gatti, Bremer, Kelly; Kalulu, Thuram, Locatelli, McKennie; Conceicao, Yildiz; David

alHnfc01Zosts0i2h89H_Csh.png

Key Stats

  • Juventus have kept a clean sheet in their last three matches against Genoa in all competitions.
  • Juventus have won their last 3 matches in Serie A.
  • Genoa have beaten Juventus only four times in their last 12 meetings on home soil.
  • Genoa are without a win in their last four Serie A games.

Player to Watch

Jonathan David

There are some late changes expected at Juventus when it comes to their attacking setup, with the club actively looking to offload Dusan Vlahovic and bring Randal Kolo Muani back from PSG. Irrespective of what transpires with those two forwards, Juventus may have already found the solution for their starting No.9 with the arrival of David.

The Canadian striker opened his Serie A account in his first game for the club, and will want to add more to his tally during this trip to Genoa. He will be Juventus’s main man in the final third against Genoa, and Igor Tudor will hope for another top-draw performance from David.

Prediction

Genoa 1-2 Juventus

Genoa will look to stifle Juventus in this home encounter, and they do have the capacity to keep the visitors at bay. However, the game will be decided based on the quality on the field, with Juventus certainly edging Patrick Vieira’s side in that regard.

The opening day victory will have given Juventus some much required momentum heading into this clash, and they will secure the win. The Bianconeri are still susceptible to conceding an odd goal despite a formidable defensive setup; however, they are expected to take the three points in the end.

Round 2: Genoa vs. Juventus match preview

Prediksi dan Link Live Streaming Genoa vs Juventus di Liga Italia 2025-2026

We are about to reach the tease of every new Serie A season, folks.

“Why do you call it that?” you may be asking yourself. Well, this is why: We’re about to head into the second weekend of the 2025-26 season. And once Sunday passes, it’s the first international break of the new campaign. That means we get 180 minutes of Juventus being officially back in our lives and those results counting in the standings, and then we have to wait another two weeks for the next 90 minutes. (That one out of the September break sure is a big one, too.) ............

A lot like last season, Juventus head out on the road after a successful Matchday 1 in search of starting 2-for-2 and going into the first break of the new campaign with some good vibes. It comes against the same Genoa side that Igor Tudor managed his first game at Juventus after taking over for Thiago Motta last March, but this time it’s at the Luigi Ferraris rather than the friendly confines of the Allianz Stadium. This time, however, there is no interim tag attached to Tudor’s job status, with the former Juve defender now the full-time guy in charge of trying to get the Bianconeri to be a much more competitive side against both the top teams in Serie A as well as the potentially troublesome provincial clubs than they were under Motta. ............

“We know we’re facing an opponent that doesn’t give anything away easily and is also very organized,” Tudor said. “Playing at the Marassi is always challenging, so we’ll need to be at our best to get 3 points.” ............

So with their best defender back in the fold and looking a little bit like his old self again, Juventus head to genoa looking to keep them as quiet as they did against Parma a week ago. If Juve can do that, then there’s a good chance of Matchday 2 looking like Matchday 1. That’s a good way to go into the international break — especially with a big month of September looming on the horizon.

TEAM NEWS

  • Juventus will be without Genoa native Andrea Cambiaso, who will be serving the first half of his two-match ban for his red card against Parma last weekend. Cambiaso will also miss the Derby d’Italia that comes right after the September international break.
  • When it comes to who steps in for Cambiaso, the Italian media believe that Filip Kostic has a slight edge over Weston McKennie for the starting spot as Juve’s wingback on the left wing. ............
  • Pierre Kalulu is being tipped by many in the Italian media to get his second straight start at right wingback. Tudor added that Kalulu “has shown perfect movement in midfield, providing solidity and concentration, qualities that help the whole team. ............

Tudor said that Nico González, one of the last remaining players being linked with a potential exit ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline, is a player he has “always admired” and that he is “delighted to have him with us.” ............

JUVENTUS PLAYER TO WATCH

Coming out of the first weekend of the Serie A season, there is one player who leads the league in assists.

It’s a tall and handsome 20-year-old young man who just so happens to wear black and white a good amount of the time.

So you probably guessed where we’re going with this. Let’s talk about Kenan Yildiz because there’s never really a bad time to do something like that.

The season-opening win over Parma was Yildiz showing some of his best qualities. He was a threat with a head of steam behind him as he charged toward opposing defenders, setting up both goals Juve scored last Sunday night and staking claim to the title of being the only player in Serie A with two assists to his name after Matchday 1. ............

Or it could look a lot like what Yildiz has done in terms of production ever since Tudor took over as Juventus’ manager back in March. It looks a little something like this:

Twelve total appearances

12 goal contributions (six goals and six assists)

Something tells me that’s good. Probably because it is — and the kind of pace when it comes to both goals and assists that we all hope that Yildiz continues to produce as we head into the first big tests of the 2025-26 season adfter the September international break. ............

MATCH INFO

When: Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025.

Genoa vs Juventus | Probable lineups: Two players vying to replace Cambiaso

Genoa vs Juventus Prediction: match preview, predicted lineups, tips & odds on August 31, 2025 – Ratingbet.com

On Sunday evening, Juventus will play their first away fixture of the Serie A season, as they take on Genoa at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium. The match kicks off at 18:30 CET.

After winning the opening-day contest against Parma by two unanswered goals, Igor Tudor will be looking to maintain the same starting lineup.

Jonathan David, who broke the deadlock on his club debut, will once again spearhead the charge, keeping fellow opening-day goalscorer Dusan Vlahovic on the bench.

The Canadian bomber will be supported by Francisco Conceicao and Kenan Yildiz. ............

In the middle of the park, club captain Manuel Locatelli should combine with Khephren Thuram, even though Teun Koopmeiners has been pushing for a starting berth.

Gleison Bremer will be marshalling the backline, playing in between Federico Gatti and Lloyd Kelly, with Michele Di Gregorio in goal. Pierre Kalulu should be favoured over Joao Mario in the right wingback slot after competently filling in this role. ............

However, Tudor will be forced to make at least one change to the lineup, as Andrea Cambiaso saw red in the final minutes against Parma. The left-back lost his cool and elbowed his opponent in the face, earning himself a two-match ban.

At this stage, Filip Kostic could be the favourite to replace the Italy international. ............

Genoa vs Juventus Probable lineups

Genoa (4-2-3-1): Leali; Sabelli, Ostigard, Vazquez, Martin; Frendrup, Masini; Norton-Cuffy, Carboni (Malinovskyi), Stanciu; Colombo.

Juventus (3-4-2-1): Di Gregorio; Gatti, Bremer, Kelly; Kalulu, Locatelli, Thuram, Kostic (McKennie); Conceicao, Yildiz; David

Dusan Vlahovic came off the bench for another decisive Juventus goal, scraping victory in Genoa after the crossbar saved them in stoppages. ............

Khephren Thuram accidentally charged down a scorcher from teammate Joao Mario with his face in the opening minutes, leaving him rather dazed. ............

Juventus thought they simply had to score on 41 minutes when Kenan Yildiz rolled across from the left for Federico Gatti to sweep first-time from 10 yards, but Nicola Leali made an astonishing one-handed reaction save at the near post.

Moments later, Leali got down incredibly quickly for another great save on the Kenan Yildiz angled drive, but Jonathan David fired the rebound over from seven yards. ............

It was Juventus who eventually broke the deadlock with transfer rebel Vlahovic, who again came off the bench to score a crucial goal. He was allowed a free header from six yards on the Filip Kostic corner, as Genoa’s zonal marking system failed. ............

Nico Gonzalez was introduced for a late swansong, as he is heading to Atletico Madrid, but Genoa were unlucky as Morten Thorsby just failed to connect with the fantastic Brooke Norton-Cuffy ball across the six-yard box.

Genoa had two huge opportunities to equalise deep into stoppages, as first Di Gregorio got down for a sensational one-handed save to palm the Caleb Ekuban curler round the base of the far post, then on the resulting corner Masini’s header bounced off the crossbar, the goalkeeper punching away the rebound.

Genoa 0-1 Juventus

Vlahovic 73 (J)

Genoa: Leali 6; Norton-Cuffy 6.5, Ostigard 6, Vásquez 5.5, Caricol 6.5; Masini 7, Frendrup 6 (Ekhator 5.5), Carboni 5 (Malinovskyi 6), Stanciu 6 (Thorsby 5.5), Ellertsson 5.5 (Vitinha 6), Colombo 5.5 (Ekuban 5.5). ............

Genoa coach – Vieira 6: Set up his side well defensively and made timely substitutions, ensuring Juventus were frustrated for long spells. However, Genoa lacked attacking spark and never looked capable of clawing their way back once Juve went ahead.

Juventus:

Di Gregorio 6.5; Kelly 7, Bremer 6.5, Gatti 7; João Mário 7 (Kostić 7), Thuram 7.5, Locatelli 6.5 (Koopmeiners 6), Kalulu 6; Yıldız 7 (McKennie N/A), Conceição 5.5 (González N/A); David 5.5 (Vlahovic 7.5). Coach: Igor Tudor 7.

Best Juventus player – Vlahovic 7.5: Could have gone to Thuram or Yıldız, but given the criticism surrounding him, the Serbian striker deserves the plaudits. Came off the bench and delivered the decisive goal to secure three crucial points away from home.

Lowest Juventus rating – David 5.5: The Canadian forward struggled badly to impose himself, rarely troubling Genoa’s back line. Overpowered physically and ineffective in build-up play before being replaced by Vlahovic just after the hour mark. ............

Juventus coach – Igor Tudor 7: Read the game intelligently, making the right adjustments when David faltered. His decision to turn to Vlahovic proved decisive as the substitute scored the winner. A solid tactical showing on the road.

Juventus head coach Igor Tudor will be a happy man tonight after his Bianconeri side emerged with three points after a tricky and closely fought 1-0 win at Genoa. ............

Speaking to the microphones of the press after the game, Tudor said “I like this team. I told the guys that I have a really good feeling about a team that is switched on like this. Even before the match, those who came in had great energy. When you come here to Genoa you have to earn everything and concede nothing. Two clean sheets, that’s good.” ............

Dusan Vlahovic scored the winner for Tudor’s side tonight; the Serbian coming on as a substitute in the second-half to score the only goal. ............

Speaking about the striker, Tudor said “I’ll repeat what I have already said. In this month and a half of preparation he has always been focused, he has worked as an example. Comolli said he is staying and I’m happy. He is a strong player and hopefully he keeps up this scoring rate, which is no small thing.”

Tudor was asked if he expects anything from the transfer market, to which he replied “I focus on coaching. I expect nothing, I’m happy.” ............

With the Bianconeri’s strong start to the 2025-26 season, Tudor was asked if his side are in the race for the Scudetto. He replied, “Only two games have been played. I want to go match by match and do our best in the next one. Stay focused and train well, then we’ll see where this mindset and way of working takes us.”

On his substitutions, the coach said “If you make changes it is because you think you have other options. A substitution isn’t always made just because someone isn’t doing well.” ............

Juventus 1 - Genoa 0: Initial reaction and random observations

TOPSHOT-FBL-ITA-SERIEA-GENOA-JUVENTUS

Juventus claimed their second win in as many games to begin the 2025-26 season with a 1-0 victory over Genoa at the Marassi, as Igor Tudor has now replicated the same kind of results as Thiago Motta did to begin his Juve managerial career. But because of who scored the lone goal of the night and how Juve were oh-so-close to seeing that slim lead of theirs go up in smoke with essentially the last kick — or, in this case, head — of the ball before the final whistle.

For the second game in a row, Dusan Vlahovic was on the scoresheet. Last week, it was a goal that put away Parma once and for all. This week, though, it was even the more important, with his header off a Filip Kostic corner kick in the 73rd minute — SERIOUSLY, A PRODUCTIVE CORNER! — proving to be the game-winning goal that enabled Juve to claim six points out of a possible six to begin the season under Tudor.

But it wouldn’t be a tight Juve win without a little bit of a scare, right? Well, we certainly got that, too, as the final corner of the game after a big Michele Di Gregorio save resulted in Patrizio Masini getting a great look on goal, only to see his header hit off the top of the crossbar and keep Juventus in front. Di Gregorio was able to punch the ball away after it hit the woodwork to hopefully ease a little bit of the blood pressure spike that surely all of us were suddenly dealing with. ............

On a night when Juventus weren’t at their best by any stretch of the imagination, Vlahovic proved vital. Seriously, he did. If coming off the bench is going to be his role more often than not this season, then he’s showing the early returns of it have been quite fruitful. How much of it is the circumstances of where he finds himself at the club is feeding into it, who really knows, but Vlahovic — with some of his flaws still incredibly present — has come out firing to begin this new season. ............

Genoa made things incredibly tough on Tudor’s squad. Their pressing was relentless, with Juventus’ passing giving you the feeling at times of if they were going to be able to actually string much of anything together. As much as Genoa weren’t creating much of anything in the final third until the final couple of minutes, it was a lot like last weekend’s season opener where Juve weren’t exactly peppering the opposing goalkeeper for much of the night. Outside of a couple of chances late in the first half — including the most notable from the man Vlahovic came on for in the second half, Jonathan David — it’s not like former Juve prospect Nicola Leali was all that busy at all. ............

RANDOM THOUGHTS AND OBSERVATIONS

  • Juventus and Genoa combined for 20 fouls in the first half. It felt like there was a whistle happening ever 30-60 seconds. Yet, we only get one minute of stoppage time? That’s hilarious.
  • Personally, I would like David to have another crack of that sitter that he missed. ............
  • It proved to be a pretty forgettable day for David after his heroics in the season opener last weekend. He wasn’t on the ball much, getting only 20 touches, and just didn’t feel like he was in the same kind flow as he was against Parma. That’s fine. It’s early. With how truncated this preseason was, it was always going to be tough for him to dominate early. He’s got the talent to do well — he just needs some time.
  • Who would have guessed that Leali would make a couple of great saves against Juventus? It’s almost like these things are predetermined no matter who the opponent ends up being. ............
  • If you want to know just how much that first save from Leali on Federico Gatti was bound for goal, just go back and see the reaction from Manuel Locatelli to the save itself. Locatelli thought that was a goal. A lot of us probably thought it was a goal. And yet, Leali saved it and it was still scoreless at the half because of it. ............
  • I understand why Tudor took a bit of a gamble with Joao Mario on the left wing since Andrea Cambiaso was suspended. But the end result was not great, and hopefully that isn’t something we see against Inter in the Derby d’Italia in a couple of weeks.
  • More breaking news: Bremer good. Welcome back again, my man.
  • You want to know how hard Genoa made Juventus work on Sunday? Look at just how exhausted Kenan Yildiz looked on the bench after he was subbed off. That young man just looked completed spent. ............
  • Khephren Thuram getting absolutely blasted in the forehead by a teammate’s close-range shot maybe should have been an early sign that this was going to be a tough day.
  • Di Gregorio didn’t have much to do in goal all game, but he sure was crucial in the final couple of minutes o stoppage time. This is a man who just looks so much more comfortable in goal compared to this time last season. He’s really carried over his late-season form from the spring into this new campaign, and it’s quite nice to see. ............

Juventus given fresh injury concern as Conceicao suffers knock in Genoa

Pagelle Genoa-Juventus: Bremer (6,5) dantesco, David (5) fatale, Vlahovic (7) ancora tu | Corriere.it

Juventus are sweating over the condition of Francisco Conceicao, who left the pitch carrying a knock on Sunday evening.

The 22-year-old was in the starting lineup against Genoa, forming the attacking trident alongside Kenan Yildiz and Jonathan David. ............

As for Conceicao, he was forced to leave the pitch in the 83rd minute after hurting his right leg as a result of a tackle.

The Portuguese tried to grit his teeth and overcome the pain, but eventually succumbed to the injury. ............

Igor Tudor thus brought on Nicolas Gonzalez as a replacement, in what could go down as the latter’s last ever appearance for Juventus. The Argentinian is currently finalising his transfer to Atletico Madrid. He joins the Spanish capital side on loan with the obligation to buy for €33 million. ............

But the good news for the Old Lady is that Edon Zhegrova is only hours away from sealing a deadline-day switch to Juventus. ............

Lois Openda and Edon Zhegrova joined Juventus on deadline day, so here’s how the Old Lady could line up with their latest purchases.

Juventus were probably busier on the deadline day than in the entire summer transfer window, having completed two of their four new signings in the final 24 hours of negotiations. ............

Considering Jonathan David, who had already joined the Bianconeri on a free transfer from Lille earlier this summer, the three Juventus centre-forwards (David, Vlahovic and Openda) have combined 58 goals in the last year.

But how will Tudor line up his Juventus side with all these options in attack?

Technically, Openda is a centre-forward, which means he can play alongside or in place of David with an attacking midfielder – Yildiz – behind them. ............

Tudor, however, has been using a 3-4-2-1 system for the last few years, so either Openda or David may need to adapt to a slightly different position if the Croatian tactician doesn’t change his system.

On the other hand, Zhegrova can fit into the Juventus formation by partnering Yildiz as an attacking midfielder, supporting David, Openda or Vlahovic. ............

Surely, Tudor knows how to use strikers well, given that Giovanni Simeone had the most prolific season in his career in 2021-22 when he played under the Croatian boss in Verona. ............

Juventus have officially confirmed their Champions League squad list for the first half of the 2025-26 campaign, and to no real surprise, Arkadiusz Milik has not been included among Igor Tudor’s selections. ............

The Bianconeri have officially announced their selections, with no major surprises. All of the club’s summer signings have been selected, including deadline day arrivals Edon Zhegrova and Lois Openda. ............

Technically, participating teams will all submit two squads, titled List A and List B. Teams can name a maximum of 25 players in List A. Eight of those must be ‘locally trained’ ie. having come through an academy in Italy, and at least four of those eight must have come through the club’s own academy system, or in other words ‘club-trained’. ............

Clubs can name an unlimited number of players to List B. They must be born after January 1, 2004, and must have been eligible to play for their club for an interrupted period of two years from the age of 15 upwards.

Curiously, Kenan Yildiz has been included in Juventus’s List B rather than List A. ............

List A

1. Mattia Perin, 3. Gleison Bremer, 4. Federico Gatti, 5. Manuel Locatelli, 6. Lloyd Kelly, 7. Francisco Conceicao, 8. Teun Koopmeiners, 9. Dusan Vlahovic, 11. Edon Zhegrova, 15. Pierre Kalulu, 16. Michele Di Gregorio, 17. Vasilije Adzic, 18. Filip Kostic, 19. Khephren Thuram, 20. Lois Openda, 21. Fabio Miretti, 22. Weston McKennie, 23. Carlo Pinsoglio, 24. Daniele Rugani, 25. Joao Mario, 27. Andrea Cambiaso, 30. Jonathan David, 32. Juan Cabal.

List B

10. Kenan Yildiz, 40. Jonas Rouhi, 41. Javier Gil Pouche, 42. Filippo Scaglia, 43. Matteo Fuscaldo, 47. Bruno Martinez.

Rampulla reveals why Juventus could surprise everyone this season

Dusan Vlahovic celebrates with his Juventus teammates

Juventus made notable late moves in the transfer market just before the window closed, and as a result, they are now being regarded as one of the leading contenders to win Serie A and potentially other trophies this season. ............

Under the leadership of Igor Tudor, Juventus are aiming to turn its renewed squad strength into silverware. The team already appear stronger than they were last season, both defensively and offensively. A major boost will come from the return of Gleison Bremer, who was sidelined for almost the entirety of the previous campaign, featuring only in its opening weeks. His presence at the back is expected to be instrumental in maintaining defensive stability, while the club’s attacking reinforcements have added depth and variety up front. ............

Former Juventus goalkeeper Michelangelo Rampulla has expressed his optimism about the club’s prospects this term. He said, “Juventus finished fourth last year despite problems with Vlahovic, the coach, and more. This year they’re definitely starting from a better foundation; they could be a nice surprise because they have a fairly competitive squad. Transfer news aside, Bremer’s return is a great acquisition, considering he got injured almost immediately last year.”

His remarks reflect the belief that Juventus are in a much stronger position now compared to the previous season. Rampulla views the return of Bremer as equivalent to a new signing, further strengthening the overall squad. ............

Stefano Impallomeni thinks Juve now has a good team for trophy pursuit

Juventus, la strategia di Comolli che piace ai tifosi: nessun acquisto in serie A. L'unico

Stefano Impallomeni has expressed his admiration for the transfer business carried out by Juventus during the recent summer window, noting in particular the strengthening of their attack on deadline day. The club, which has operated under the necessity of selling before making acquisitions, was one of the busiest in the final hours of the market. ............

By the morning of the final day, Juventus had several negotiations ongoing and were under pressure to bring them to completion before the window closed. Ultimately, the club did not succeed in signing Randal Kolo Muani, a player they had tracked throughout the summer, as Paris Saint-Germain’s financial demands proved too high. Nevertheless, the Bianconeri were able to secure the signings of Edon Zhegrova and Lois Openda, two forwards who are expected to provide both depth and quality in attacking areas.

The arrival of these players has raised optimism among supporters and analysts alike, with many suggesting that Juventus now possess one of the strongest forward lines in Serie A. ............

Reflecting on the club’s efforts, Impallomeni shared his view that the outcome of the summer window has left Juventus well-equipped for the challenges ahead. He stated, “Ultimately, it’s right that the Kolo Muani affair is over, because PSG’s request wasn’t acceptable. Openda and Zhegrova are making it clear that they need to move on from the player. Now Juve are in good shape for the league and the Champions League.” ............
