It happened early in the second half, with the Old Lady still 1-0 down. David latched onto a sharp pass from Francisco Conceiçao but, striking with the wrong foot, somehow failed to convert into an empty net, producing one of the most astonishing misses of the season. The Canadia was replaced at minute 86, making room for Dusan Vlahovic. Italian media strongly criticised David on Thursday. ............ Tuttosport rated the Canada striker 4/10, saying that he was ‘indefensible’ and sarcastically asking: ‘Is it a joke?’ “It’s impossible to find adjectives,” added the Turin-based paper, “and he should have scored also when he hit the crossbar. The Bianconeri were minutes away from earning their first victory in the Champions League this season, after pulling off a sensational second-half comeback against Villarreal, led by Federico Gatti and Francisco Conceicao. ............ In the 90th minute, Veiga rose above his markers to net the all-important equaliser for the Yellow Submarines, thus setting El Madrigal ablaze. Although his header was too central, the power took it past Mattia Perin. ............ The Portuguese defender insists that the Bianconeri remain in his heart, and that he didn’t mean to disrespect his former teammates and their supporters. “I spoke to almost everyone after the match. I love them all, and they told me the same,” said the 22-year-old in his post-match interview. “Juventus is a team with great players, but above all, great men. They will always have a special place in my heart. ” I scored and celebrated because that’s who I am; I live the game intensely. I didn’t mean to disrespect anyone. After the contest, Capello rued Juve’s inability to defend corner kicks, noting how they have now developped a knack for conceding from set pieces. “The worst thing about this Juventus side is that they’ve always been surprised by every corner,” said the 78-year-old during his post-match appearance. “The headers are always won by the opposition. It’s always a corner, and I predicted the goal for precisely that reason.” ............ “Juventus changed following Conceicao’s entrance. There was balance on the pitch; this player’s creativity caused Villarreal problems, and for a while, Juve were calm on the pitch, dominating.” ............ “Juventus dropped off significantly in the final 20 minutes; some substitutions probably needed to be made earlier. “I still don’t understand why David remained on the pitch until five minutes from time. The French midfielder and the Brazilian defender both suffered knocks in last weekend’s Serie A contest against Atalanta, forcing Igor Tudor to replace them in the second half. ............ The clash at El Madrigal also bore another injury concern for Juventus, as Juan Cabal, who has only just returned from a 10-month layoff, picked up a knock early in the match. The Colombian is expected to undergo clinical tests in the coming hours, but he is highly unlikely to recover for the weekend’s big tilt. ............ The club is increasingly confident about Thuram and Bremer, tipping the duo to pull off a timely recovery and make themselves available against Milan. Juventus may be winless in their last four matches, though they have not suffered defeat in that run, while AC Milan arrive in strong form, having secured four consecutive league victories under Max Allegri. ............ Matri commented, “It’s a tight match, even though Milan are coming off five straight wins and Juventus have drawn four. These are two teams that have strengthened over the summer and are doing well, even though the Rossoneri have found their feet more quickly. I think they have a good idea of how to play, and against Napoli, who were down to ten men, they showed defensive solidity and the ability to struggle. The Bianconeri, on the other hand, are struggling a bit more because they’re conceding a few too many goals, and there’s still no established hierarchy for the center-forward role.” Matri’s words highlight the strengths and weaknesses of both sides. While Milan appear to have settled more quickly into a rhythm, Juventus continue to face challenges in certain areas, particularly in attack and defensive stability. ............ Both clubs have begun the season positively, but for Juventus, victory in this fixture could prove especially significant. Returning to winning ways against one of their fiercest rivals would provide a much-needed confidence boost and help maintain momentum in the title race. While the men in black and white boast several top European talents in their squad and continue to work hard to secure victories, lapses in concentration have repeatedly cost them crucial points. ............ Commenting on the issue, Massimo Pavan said: “The lack of concentration during Villarreal’s equaliser is very serious. Tudor and Gatti were right to get angry, but the responsibility must be shared by the entire team. Juventus absolutely must return to defending with order and concentration, especially on set pieces, where they can no longer afford to be careless.” Pavan’s remarks underline the growing frustration around the team’s defensive lapses. His assessment suggests that the problem is not confined to individual errors but is a collective issue that requires a more disciplined and coordinated approach from the entire squad. ............ Juventus supporters have also voiced disappointment with the nature of recent goals conceded, describing some as avoidable and careless. Poor concentration at decisive moments has transformed potential victories into frustrating draws, limiting the team’s momentum and progress. If Juventus wishes to remain in contention for trophies this season, defensive stability must become a priority. Draws are not enough for a club with their ambitions, and greater focus, particularly during set pieces and in the closing stages of matches, will be vital. ............ . His recent contributions have drawn attention and reinforced his importance within the Juventus setup. ............ Chico has proven to be an influential figure at the Allianz Stadium. In the recent match against Villarreal, it was his presence that altered the course of the game in favour of Juventus. Brought on to replace the struggling Teun Koopmeiners, Conceicao provided a spark that enabled Juventus to elevate their performance and improve upon a lacklustre display earlier in the match. His energy and direct play proved decisive, shifting momentum at a crucial stage. Conceicao is now in line to secure a starting place when Juventus take on AC Milan this weekend. The prospect of facing Max Allegri’s side, currently labelled a winning machine, presents both a challenge and an opportunity for the forward. ........... Gleison Bremer and Khephren Thuram were absent when Juventus travelled to Spain to face Villarreal in the Champions League during midweek. Both players had sustained minor injuries in the previous match against Atalanta, prompting Igor Tudor to take a cautious approach and leave them behind rather than risk aggravating their conditions. ............ Juventus have an opportunity to secure a vital result when they meet Milan, direct rivals in the league standings. The contest carries added importance as both clubs aim to establish themselves as consistent contenders for the title this season. The return of key personnel could prove decisive in determining the outcome of the match. Bremer has been central to Juventus’s defensive solidity since his arrival, and his presence at the back will be critical in containing Milan’s attacking threats. When the teams convene in Turin, Juve will trail Milan - who are now coached by their former manager - by one point in the standings, with both hoping to fight for the title. Match preview While there have been some familiar flaws on show this season, Juventus remain unbeaten in Serie A, and their 10-match run without a league defeat stretches all the way back to April. Last week's 1-1 draw with injury-hit Atalanta BC kept them on the coat-tails of leading trio Napoli, Roma and Milan, with 11 points on the board so far. Yet, it was a frustrating result against La Dea on home turf, and only a 78th-minute equaliser from Juan Cabal saw Juve share the spoils. Then, in the Champions League, Igor Tudor's team continued their entertaining start to the league phase on Wednesday night, following up a frantic 4-4 draw with Borussia Dortmund with a four-goal game in Spain. Juventus fell behind, then came back to lead 2-1 against Villarreal, but they failed to keep the back door shut, as ex-Juve loanee Renato Veiga hauled the hosts level late on. Tudor certainly has plenty to work on - not helped by some uneven recruitment at the Turin club in recent years - and his next test comes along this weekend. Just before Tudor's return, Juventus won their most recent home game against Milan in January - a few days after losing to them in the Supercoppa Italiana - but that is Juve's sole success across the last four meetings. ............ Both men were unavailable after sustaining minor injuries in the previous Serie A fixture against Atalanta, and their absence was felt as the Bianconeri recorded a 2-2 draw. ............ Juve’s defensive line remained relatively solid in Spain, yet the midfield struggled to impose itself over ninety minutes. Reflecting on the performance, Alessio Tacchinardi gave his assessment of where the team suffered most. He said: “I think Thuram’s absence in midfield was really felt. Bremer is an important player, but the defense didn’t play terribly. The midfield problem is becoming quite evident; the team needs something extra and some players. The feeling from the outside is that the two midfielders are struggling to hold the entire pitch for ninety minutes.” Tacchinardi’s comments reinforce the sense that Juventus lacked energy and stability in the middle of the park. Without Thuram’s presence, the side found it difficult to maintain control, leaving gaps that Villarreal exploited. ............ Juventus have now failed to win in their last four matches, a run that underlines the importance of getting their key players back to full fitness. The Rossoneri have shown excellent form in recent matches and will be looking to continue their impressive streak against one of Italy’s most historic clubs. Juventus, on the other hand, will be keen to ensure that Milan’s run of victories does not extend beyond four games in front of their home supporters. ............ Milan will work hard to secure a win, but they could be without one of their key players for the upcoming match. Fikayo Tomori has been a doubt for the game as an important part of their three-man defence and is now expected to miss the fixture. The defender has not recovered in time to make the squad, and even in the hours leading up to the match, there is only a slim chance he will be declared fit to play in Turin. Milan has indicated that they will not risk fielding him if he is not fully ready, leaving Juventus one less player to consider in their preparations. ............ Although Tomori has been a key player for Milan, the team has other talented individuals capable of influencing the outcome of the match. After leaving Juventus in 2024, Allegri returned to management this summer by taking charge of Milan. His storylines add further intrigue to a match that is already rich with history and rivalry. Allegri knows both clubs well. He spent eight years at Juventus across two separate spells, guiding the team through numerous domestic battles, while also previously serving as Milan’s manager. ............ Allegri explained: “It’s not a revenge. When I went to Juve, I thanked Milan for the first four years. Before coming back here, I thanked Juve. Tomorrow isn’t a revenge, it will be a good match. Fortunately, I’ll be on the bench; it seemed strange to me the other day after the suspensions I picked up (laughs). We’ll have to play a good match tactically. Defense? We defended well against Napoli, but we could have done better, like in the penalty shootout.” His remarks reflect a calm and pragmatic approach. Rather than dwelling on the past, Allegri emphasises the importance of tactics and focus, underscoring that preparation and execution will ultimately determine the match’s outcome. ............ As one of the most experienced coaches in European football, Allegri recognises that sentiment cannot overshadow performance. While some might expect animosity after his sacking by Juventus, he appears to acknowledge that his dismissal was a consequence of the team’s poor results and his own decisions, rather than wrongdoing by the club. This perspective allows him to approach the clash without personal distraction. ............ . Milan are a top-level team with a great coach and great players, and they are in good form. We’re playing at home and we have to play a great game,” Tudor said at a press conference on Saturday. ............ “What’s missing is a win, that’s clear. When I analyse, I look at the performance. Against Atalanta and Villarreal, we put in two great performances, and we played better than our opponents,” Tudor said. “The players pushed hard and gave everything. We were just short of taking all three points. “We’ve been playing the same way for six months; we surely have an identity. ............ “We need to play a great match tomorrow. The former Juve icon maintains a keen interest in his old club and, like millions of supporters worldwide, hopes to see the team secure a victory. ............ Del Piero commented on the situation: “The fact that they’re playing in the Champions League doesn’t put any more pressure on them. When you play a game a week, you absolutely have to do it well, so Milan has a huge responsibility. But they’re two teams equipped to do anything.” His remarks highlight the contrasting circumstances both clubs face and underline that Milan’s lighter schedule places expectations on them to perform consistently. Top teams with strong squads, who compete in fewer matches per week, are often seen as having a better opportunity to challenge for domestic titles. Yet Del Piero emphasises that such factors should not be an excuse for Juventus. Elite clubs, he suggests, thrive under pressure and are expected to deliver results regardless of the schedule or the obstacles in front of them. ............ While Juventus may not be considered outright favourites for the clash, the team is determined to demonstrate its ambition in the title race. Del Piero’s insights reinforce the idea that, despite the challenges posed by European commitments and the strength of the opposition, Juventus possess the quality and experience required to compete at the highest level. ............ . Socrates 9150 Joined: 04-Apr-2006 137872 messaggi Inviato Sabato alle 20:48 Round 6: Juventus vs. AC Milan match preview Even if a certain somebody wasn’t coming back to Turin this weekend, Juventus and AC Milan’s first meeting fo the 2025-26 season would be filled with narrative with how both clubs have started the season. They’re one point apart in the Serie A standings, with Milan sitting atop the table alongside defending champions Napoli and Roma on 12 points. Juve, of course, are just one point behind despite their recent string of draws. ............ This weekend is the first time since their not-so-amicable split a year and a half ago following the Coppa Italia final that Max Allegri will be walking through the tunnel at the Allianz Stadium. But instead of making the turn to the home bench that he’s spent so many years patrolling, he will turn the opposite direction on Sunday night as he makes what he has described as an “emotional” return to Turin for the first time with Milan. He will almost certainly get a warm reception for what he did during his time as Juve manager regardless of how things ended. (And things technically ended with him winning a trophy, so it’s not like it was so bad.) ............ Allegri has the same kind of situation going for him in his first season with Milan that he did during his last campaign with Juventus — no European football and a week to train (and rest his players accordingly) between games. It’s clearly paying off so far, and the proof of that is what they did against Napoli last weekend even with the hurdle to clear of being down to 10 men for the final half hour at the San Siro. So, it’s pretty easy to see that Milan enter Sunday night’s showdown as the more in-form squad. And the much more rested, too. ............ Regardless of the results, Juve manager Igor Tudor says that things are improving. That, of course, is the public-facing view on things, but Tudor has shown during his short time as coach that he is a pretty straight shooter when it comes to how he views his team and the things going on around them. So this is what he had to say about things when asked about the current state of his squad at Saturday’s pre-match pre-match press conference: ”In my opinion, the lads have performed better than their opponents in the last two matches, coming close to victory in both games. The team is doing well and I can see them improving. They’re giving their all, and we have had a clear playing identity for six months now and know what we want to do both when we have the ball and when we don’t.” ............ TEAM NEWS The two big doubts for Juve’s meeting with Milan continue to be Gleison Bremer and Khephren Thuram, who both missed the draw with Villarreal due to their respective injuries. Even if available for selection, neither player is expected to start against the current league leaders. Thuram did return to full training on Satruday, so he looks to be available to face Milan in some capacity. Bremer, however, could miss a second straight game going into the international break after doing individualized training to start the weekend. ............ Dusan Vlahovic appears to be the favorite to start in the No. 9 spot of Tudor’s 3-4-2-1 formation over Jonathan David and Loïs Openda. So if you were hoping for a little continuity up front, it might not be happening this weekend coming out of the midweek fixture. Francisco Conceição is expected to be back in the starting lineup after only being fit enough to come off the bench against Villarreal, a game in which he scored in to give Juve the lead. In a clear sign of just how long his wonderful career has spanned, 40-year-old Luka Modric will be playing against a team managed by his former national team teammate in Tudor, who is seven years his senior. That is pretty nifty. JUVENTUS PLAYER TO WATCH He was the unexpected source of an absolute worldie of a goal midweek. But, at the same time, there is still a lot to be desired about what his primary responsibility on the opposite end of the field. And with Bremer looking like he’s set to probably miss a second straight game, Mr. Cats only becomes that much more important to Juventus’ chances of beating their former manager at the Allianz this weekend. If you were to compare the form that Federico Gatti is displaying at this point of the season compared to 12 months ago, it is a very noticeable difference. For whatever reason, the early-season level Gatti displayed to begin the 2024-25 season has not been the same come the 20245-26 campaign. ............ With Allegri switching to a 3-5-2 a few weeks back, it likely means that Gatti will be going up against more speed in attack rather than a pure No. 9 that is brute force trying to match his brute force. That’s not something you really associated with Santi Giménez, and certainly not with Christian Pulisic — who should combine to form an all-CONCACAF strike partnership against Juventus. So that means Gatti will, like against Villarreal, have a lot of pace and technical ability to try and stop no matter if he’s on the right or in the center of Tudor’s three-man backline. ............ Socrates 9150 Joined: 04-Apr-2006 137872 messaggi Inviato Sabato alle 22:34 (modificato) Juventus vs AC Milan: Preview and Prediction Two of Italy’s most decorated clubs face off under the Turin lights on Sunday evening, as Juventus welcome AC Milan to the Allianz Stadium in what promises to be a captivating Serie A showdown. Separated by a single point in the standings, both sides have made encouraging starts to the 2025/26 season and see this as a key early test in their title ambitions. For Juventus, consistency has been the main theme under Igor Tudor. The Bianconeri remain unbeaten in Serie A, extending their league run without defeat to 10 matches dating back to April. However, despite the solidity, performances have not been without their flaws. A 1-1 draw against an injury-stricken Atalanta BC last weekend saw them drop valuable points, salvaged only by a late equaliser from Juan Cabal. Tudor’s side have shown attacking improvement, but defensive lapses continue to haunt them, a recurring theme evident again in their Champions League campaign. In midweek, Juventus were involved in yet another thriller, following up their chaotic 4-4 draw with Borussia Dortmund by drawing 2-2 with Villarreal. Despite leading 2-1 heading into the final minutes, they were pegged back by former loanee Renato Veiga’s equaliser. The Croatian coach will be looking for a reaction as Juve return to domestic action, aiming to close the gap on leaders Napoli, AS Roma, and AC Milan. They can take confidence from their 1-0 win over the Rossoneri at this venue in January, though that remains their only victory in the last four meetings between the sides. ............ Team News & Tactics Juventus Juventus head coach Igor Tudor faces a few injury concerns ahead of the weekend clash against AC Milan. The Bianconeri will be without Colombian wing-back Juan Cabal, who sustained a thigh injury just 15 minutes into Wednesday night’s Champions League draw with Villarreal. He now joins Fabio Miretti, who is still recovering from a muscular problem, on the treatment table. However, there is encouraging news for Juventus fans, as both Gleison Bremer and Khephren Thuram are expected to make their returns to the starting lineup. Bremer’s comeback will be a major boost for the defensive unit, while Thuram’s recovery from a minor knock could see him replace Weston McKennie in central midfield. In attack, Tudor faces a pleasant selection dilemma. Dusan Vlahovic, Lois Openda, and Jonathan David are all pushing for a place in the starting XI. Vlahovic remains the natural first-choice striker, but Openda’s energy and David’s versatility could tempt the coach into some tactical reshuffling depending on how the game unfolds. Juventus are expected to line up in a 3-4-2-1 formation. Michele Di Gregorio will retain his spot in goal, shielded by a back three of Federico Gatti, Gleison Bremer, and Lloyd Kelly, who together will aim to contain Milan’s fluid attacking trio. Out wide, Pierre Kalulu and Andrea Cambiaso are likely to occupy the wing-back roles, providing both defensive cover and overlapping runs to support transitions. In midfield, Manuel Locatelli will anchor the play, operating as the deep-lying playmaker, while Khephren Thuram will provide physicality and forward thrust alongside him. Further forward, Francisco Conceicao and Kenan Yildiz will slot in as the two attacking midfielders, drifting into half-spaces to connect with the front line and exploit any gaps in Milan’s defence. At the tip of the formation, Dusan Vlahovic should lead the line, using his aerial prowess and hold-up play to trouble the Rossoneri’s back three. This setup allows Juventus to balance compactness at the back with rapid vertical transitions, a key feature of Tudor’s tactical philosophy. The wing-backs will be crucial in stretching Milan’s shape and providing service into the box for Vlahovic, while the midfield duo will need to match Milan’s intensity to prevent being overrun. Probable Lineup (3-4-2-1): Di Gregorio; Gatti, Bremer, Kelly; Kalulu, Locatelli, Thuram, Cambiaso; Conceicao, Yildiz; Vlahovic AC Milan ............ Probable Lineup (3-5-2): Maignan; De Winter, Gabbia, Pavlovic; Saelemaekers, Fofana, Modric, Rabiot, Bartesaghi; Pulisic, Gimenez Key Stats Juventus and AC Milan have been inseparable in recent years, their last eight Serie A encounters have produced two wins each and four draws. Only eight goals have been scored by either side combined during that period, highlighting how tightly contested and defensively disciplined these fixtures have been. The Bianconeri have kept four consecutive clean sheets against Milan in Serie A, their longest such run in the fixture’s history. The last goal they conceded to the Rossoneri was scored by Olivier Giroud in May 2023, meaning Milan have gone over 400 minutes without scoring against Juventus. Juventus won their most recent home meeting with Milan (2–0 in January 2025), ending Milan’s four-match unbeaten streak in Turin. Interestingly, only one of the last six Serie A clashes between these sides in Piedmont has ended level, a 1–1 draw in September 2021. Igor Tudor’s side are one of only three unbeaten teams in Serie A this season. Their ongoing ten-match unbeaten run (W6 D4) stretches back to April 2025, when they last lost a domestic game, to Parma. This consistency has been built largely on their defensive resilience and efficient counter-attacks. Under Massimiliano Allegri, AC Milan have rediscovered form, winning four consecutive Serie A matches, marking their longest winning streak since April 2024 (under Stefano Pioli). During this run, the Rossoneri have scored eight goals while conceding only twice, reflecting a well-balanced and revitalized side. Player to Watch Dusan Vlahovic All eyes will be on Dusan Vlahovic, Juventus’s prolific frontman, as he leads the line against AC Milan in what promises to be a high-stakes encounter in Turin. The Serbian striker has rediscovered his rhythm under Igor Tudor, combining physical dominance with sharp finishing to reassert himself as one of Serie A’s most lethal forwards. ............ The 24-year-old has scored crucial goals in tight matches this season, often breaking deadlocks when Juventus need inspiration. Against a reshuffled Milan backline missing Fikayo Tomori and Pervis Estupinan, Vlahovic’s physical presence and predatory instincts could prove decisive. If he finds space in the box, Milan’s defence may struggle to contain him for the full ninety minutes. ............ Prediction Juventus 2–1 AC Milan Both Juventus and AC Milan come into this clash in strong domestic form, with unbeaten streaks that underline their credentials as title contenders. Juventus have built their recent success on defensive discipline, conceding very few goals in Serie A this season, while AC Milan’s resurgence under Massimiliano Allegri has been driven by sharp attacking transitions and the creative spark of Christian Pulisic. The hosts’ biggest advantage lies in their defensive solidity and the return of key players such as Bremer and Khephren Thuram, which should restore balance to Igor Tudor’s system. Dusan Vlahovic will look to capitalise on a weakened Milan backline missing Fikayo Tomori and Pervis Estupinan, giving Juventus a slight edge in physical duels inside the box. Milan, however, remain dangerous on the counterattack, especially with Christian Pulisic and Santiago Gimenez capable of punishing any defensive lapses. Yet, the Rossoneri’s lack of defensive stability and fatigue from squad adjustments could tilt the contest in Juventus’s favour. . This season, three centre-forwards have been vying for the No.9 role: Dusan Vlahovic, Jonathan David and Loic Openda. ............ Former Juventus striker Alessandro Matri doesn’t agree with Tudor’s reported choice, as he insists that Vlahovic should be ahead in the pecking order, even though his expiring contract is complicating his status at Continassa. “In terms of quality, I’d say Vlahovic, but we know about his contractual issues,” noted the former Cagliari bomber in his interview. “For a club looking to build a project, I don’t know how feasible that is, but of the three strikers they have, I’d always go for Vlahovic.” ............ For his part, Fabio Quagliarella agrees with his former Juventus teammate, as he also believes that Vlahovic has something extra to offer. “I’d start Vlahovic tonight against Milan at the Stadium, despite rumours that David will start,” said the retired striker ............ . It was a cagey affair to begin with; neither team prepared to take many risks in the early stages. ............ Jonathan David continued his woes in front of goal in the first of two communication mix-ups with Weston McKennie, rising to meet a cross before heading it down at the feet of McKennie who does not have enough time to react. ............ Juventus continued to exploit the space out wide, with McKennie once again getting on the end of a cross but deflecting past everyone and out for a goal kick. A few minutes later, Locatelli played a superb pass through to Kalulu on the right-hand side, with the Frenchman putting the ball on a plate for Jonathan David. However, the summer signing lost his footing and slipped over. Milan had the last good chance of the first half, when a surging run from Pavlovic on the flank saw the defender put a great ball into the box, with Santiago Gimenez heading wide from close range. ............ Juventus started the second half strong, after a short corner taken by Conceicao sees the winger put a good ball into the box, flying past everyone to the back post where Gatti blasts the shot on the volley and Maignan pulled off a wonderful reflex save to deny the Bianconeri defender. Milan finally had their chance to break the dead lock when Lloyd Kelly clumsily fouled Gimenez in the box in the 52nd minute. However, Christian Pulisic stepped up and blasted the ball over the bar, giving Juventus a huge let-off. Milan took control of the game after the penalty miss, pushing hard with Luka Modric orchestrating play in the middle of the park. Juventus had flashes after the hour mark before Rafael Leao came on and nearly marked his cameo with an instant impact. The Portuguese forward saw Juventus keeper Di Gregorio off his line and attempted to lob the shot-stopper from the halfway line. The ball was struck well and the goalkeeper was left scrambling but the shot ended up just over the bar. ............ Juventus’ subs gave them some much needed energy but resulted in the loss of taking off their two most dangerous players on the night: Kenan Yildiz and Francisco Conceicao. The game lost a lot of momentum in the closing stages, Tudor attempted to switch things up by bringing on Filip Kostic for Daniele Rugani but it was too little too late. Allegri’s Milan dug in to pick up a clean sheet and a valuable point on the road. ............ However, with Pulisic’s missed penalty, Milan will be disappointed they were not able to pick up three points at the home ground of one of their fiercest rivals. . Coach: Tudor 6. Best Juventus player: Locatelli 6 – There wasn’t really a standout performer among the Bianconeri. Daniele Rugani started the first game this season and looked quite in control at the back. Gatti had the best chance in the game for Juve, but was denied by a fantastic Mike Maignan save in the second half. Manuel Locatelli was composed on the ball and helped defensively, but nobody gave that decisive spark to win the game. Lowest Juventus rating: Kelly 5 – The Englishman caused a penalty kick for a foul on Santiago Gimenez, and it could have been a costly mistake. Luckily for the Bianconeri and Kelly, Christian Pulisic skyrocketed the attempt from the spot. Juventus coach: Tudor 6 – The priority was not to lose the game, and the performance was quite flat in the end. Credit to Milan defenders as well, as they conceded very little to the Old Lady. The question is whether Juventus have enough quality to offer more than this. Surely the boos from the Allianz Stadium at full-time were not encouraging. Milan (3-5-2): Maignan 7; Tomori 6.5, Gabbia 6.5, Pavlovic 6.5; Saelemaekers 6, Fofana 6 (63′ Loftus-Cheek), Modric 6.5, Rabiot 5.5, Bartesaghi 6; Gimenez 6 (63′ Rafael Leao 5.5), Pulisic 5 (74′ Nkunku 5.5). Much was expected from the Allianz Stadium clash between the two old Serie A rivals, but the action fell off the mark. The Bianconeri had very few chances to score, with the most memorable being Federico Gatti’s close-range attempt that was miraculously denied by Mike Maignan. ............ Juventus (4-2-3-1) Michele Di Gregorio – 8 A superb showing from the Italian goalkeeper who pulled off a string of saves, including a late one on Leao. Federico Gatti – 6 The former Frosinone man should have done better in front goal, but was somehow denied by Maignan. But did well at the back. Daniele Rugani – 6.5 A confident display from the experienced defender, although Santi Gimenez gave him a few scares. Lloyd Kelly – 6 The Englishman was solid in defence, but gave away a spot kick. While it was a harsh decision, he should have avoided the situation by beating Gimenez to the ball. Pierre Kalulu – 6 ............ Manuel Locatelli – 6 ............ Weston McKennie – 5.5 ............ Andrea Cambiaso – 5.5 ............ Francisco Conceicao – 6.5 The Portuguese was an absolute livewire down the right flank. He was easily Juve’s main source of danger, but his impact dwindled as the match progressed. Kenan Yildiz – 5.5 The Turk began his evening with some flashes of brilliance, but the tide gradually turned in Youssouf Fofana’s favour, with the Frenchman getting the better of him. Jonathan David – 5.5 The energetic Canadian pressed high and connected with his teammates. However, Juventus need goals from their main striker, whereas the 25-year-old slipped when he had the opportunity to threaten his former Lille teammate, Maignan. Substitutes Khephren Thuram – 6 ............ Dusan Vlahovic – 5 ............ Loic Openda – 5.5 The Belgian wasted a promising chance with a wayward shot. Filip Kostic – N/A . Socrates 9150 Joined: 04-Apr-2006 137872 messaggi Inviato 16 ore fa Juventus Player Ratings vs Milan: Uneventful Bianconeri Held Again Juventus and Milan shared the spoils in a dramatic 0-0 draw in Sunday’s Serie A classic at the Allianz Stadium. Despite a scoreless outcome, the match was far from dull as both teams had their chances to take all three points. ............ However, it was a forgettable first half in Turin as neither team could impose itself. Chances were few and far between, with both defenses standing firm and midfield battles dominating the opening 45 minutes. Juventus came agonizingly close to drawing first blood at the start of the second half. Yet, Mike Maignan pulled off an astonishing save to deny Federico Gatti’s close-range volley. The Bianconeri nearly got punished for Gatti’s miss as Lloyd Kelly tackled Santiago Gimenez to the ground inside the box. Christian Pulisic took the spot-kick dreadfully, blazing his shot well over the crossbar. Still, Milan could’ve snapped up a late win, only for Rafael Leao to miskick the ball in a one-on-one situation against Michele Di Gregorio. In the end, Juventus preserved their undefeated record in the 2025/26 Serie A season but lost further ground on pacesetters Napoli. ............ Juventus (3-4-2-1) Michele Di Gregorio – 8/10 The highly-rated goalkeeper saved his team tonight, making several important stops to thwart Gimenez, Pulisic, and Leao. Lloyd Kelly – 4/10 Erratic and clumsy, the Englishman gave away a chip penalty and was lucky to get away without a booking after making a silly foul on Youssouf Fofana. Daniele Rugani – 7/10 Unlike his defensive colleague, the Italian ace did well for most of the game, though Gimenez caught him off guard once, which nearly led to Milan’s goal. Federico Gatti – 7/10 Though he was Juventus’ best-performing center-back tonight, the former Frosinone star will not forget that 48th minute anytime soon. He did everything right, only for Maignan’s brilliance to deny him celebrations. Andrea Cambiaso – 5/10 ............ Weston McKennie – 6/10 ............ Manuel Locatelli – 7/10 Apart from a reckless yellow card at the start of the second half, the Juventus captain had a near-spotless game, dictating the pace with composure and precision. Pierre Kalulu – 6/10 ............ Kenan Yildiz – 4/10 In such a cagey affair, where Juventus needed a moment of brilliance to unlock Milan’s defensive block, their No.10 failed to rise to the occasion and looked largely ineffective before being subbed off. Francisco Conceciao – 5/10 Despite showing plenty of ambition, the diminutive winger couldn’t make an impact, often struggling to outpace Davide Bartesaghi. Jonathan David – 2/10 A night to forget for the struggling Canadian striker saw him fluff his lines, the only time he had a chance to put Maignan to the test. His dreadful start in Turin continues. Substitutions Lois Openda – 5/10 Dusan Vlahovic – 4/10 Khephren Thuram – 6/10 Filip Kostic – N/A .
