SS Lazio vs Juventus: Preview and Prediction

PREVIEW | Lazio vs Juventus - team news, lineups, predictions - Yahoo Sports

Two of Serie A’s most storied clubs meet on Sunday night at Stadio Olimpico, each hoping to reignite faltering campaigns. Lazio and Juventus have both struggled to live up to expectations so far, and this fixture arrives at a crucial point for managers Maurizio Sarri and Igor Tudor, whose teams are each desperate for stability and momentum.

Juventus head to Rome in the midst of one of their toughest spells in recent memory. After a 2-0 league defeat to Como last weekend and a midweek Champions League loss to Real Madrid, the Bianconeri find themselves in the middle of a worrying slide. Their 1-0 defeat at the Bernabeu was their third straight match without a goal, extending their scoring drought past the 300-minute mark.

Despite a solid defensive structure, Juventus’s lack of cutting edge in the final third has been glaring. Dusan Vlahovic and Lois Openda both squandered key opportunities against Real Madrid, continuing a run of wasteful finishing that has cost them valuable points. Their last goal came from Francisco Conceicao against Villarreal over three weeks ago, underlining the team’s current creative stagnation.

The loss to Como also snapped an 11-match unbeaten run in Serie A, though many of those results were draws, a pattern that reflects Juve’s broader inconsistency this season. Still, the Turin giants can take some solace in history: they have failed to score in only one of their last 29 away matches against Lazio, a streak they will hope continues this weekend.

Manager Igor Tudor faces mounting pressure to steady the ship. His side’s last two defeats have come amid questions about tactical balance, and he will need both structure and spark if Juventus are to reverse their slide. ............

This match pits two tacticians with distinct philosophies against each other. Igor Tudor prefers a compact, high-energy 3-4-2-1 system built around pressing and vertical transitions, but Juventus’s execution of that approach has been inconsistent. Expect Manuel Locatelli and Khephren Thuram to anchor midfield, with creative responsibility falling to Kenan Yildiz and Francisco Conceicao behind Jonathan David.

Maurizio Sarri, meanwhile, will stick with his trademark 4-3-3 structure, emphasizing controlled buildup and wide overloads. ............

Given both sides’ recent attacking struggles, control of midfield tempo could determine the outcome. Lazio’s slow buildup might play into Juventus’s pressing traps, but the visitors’ confidence in front of goal remains fragile. ............

Team News & Tactics

SS Lazio

Probable Lineup (4-3-3): Provedel; Lazzari, Gila, Romagnoli, Marusic; Guendouzi, Cataldi, Basic; Isaksen, Dia, Zaccagni

Lazio welcome Juventus in what should be an electric clash in Serie A on Sunday night.

Juventus

Juventus enter the trip to Rome with a near full-strength squad, though a few key absences continue to shape Igor Tudor’s lineup decisions. The defensive unit remains without Gleison Bremer, who is sidelined with a hamstring problem, depriving the Bianconeri of their most commanding presence at the back. In addition, wing-back Juan Cabal is unavailable due to a muscular issue, limiting Tudor’s options on the left flank.

Midfielder Manuel Locatelli, who started on the bench against Real Madrid, is expected to be recalled to the starting lineup and resume his leadership role in central midfield. His return would likely come at the expense of Weston McKennie, whose recent form has been inconsistent. The rest of the squad is fit and available, offering Tudor flexibility in attack as he searches for a more fluid and effective formula in front of goal.

Up front, Jonathan David, Lois Openda, and Dusan Vlahovic are in contention for starting roles. Vlahovic’s record against Lazio may give him the edge, as the Serbian striker has scored seven goals in his career versus the Biancocelesti, including two braces in Serie A fixtures. Tudor’s challenge will be balancing his attacking options without compromising the team’s defensive stability.

Igor Tudor is expected to stick with his preferred 3-4-2-1 system, which emphasizes compact defensive organization and swift transitions into attack. Michele Di Gregorio will continue as the first-choice goalkeeper, protected by a back three of Federico Gatti on the right, Daniele Rugani in the central role, and Lloyd Kelly on the left. This trio will aim to remain tight and disciplined against Lazio’s wide-oriented buildup play.

The wing-back positions are likely to feature Pierre Kalulu on the right and Andrea Cambiaso on the left. Both will play key roles in balancing defence with forward thrust, as Juventus rely heavily on their wide players to stretch the field and provide service to the forwards.

In central midfield, Manuel Locatelli will return as the deep-lying orchestrator, providing passing range and composure, while Khephren Thuram will operate alongside him, offering box-to-box dynamism and physical presence. Ahead of them, Francisco Conceicao and Kenan Yildiz will occupy the attacking midfield roles, floating between the lines to link play and support the lone striker.

Leading the line, Jonathan David is expected to get the nod over Vlahovic and Openda, bringing movement and sharp finishing to Juventus’s attack. His combination play with Conceicao and Yildiz will be vital in breaking down Lazio’s defensive block.

Probable Lineup (3-4-2-1): Di Gregorio; Gatti, Rugani, Kelly; Kalulu, Locatelli, Thuram, Cambiaso; Conceicao, Yildiz; David

Lazio welcome Juventus in what should be an electric clash in Serie A on Sunday night.

Key Stats

  • Juventus have been a dominant force in this fixture, losing only one of their last 12 Serie A meetings with Lazio (winning eight and drawing three). Their last defeat to the Biancocelesti came in November 2019.

  • The Bianconeri have failed to score just once in their last 29 away games against Lazio across all competitions, highlighting their consistent ability to find the net at the Stadio Olimpico.

  • Lazio have won only two of their last 15 Serie A home matches, drawing 10 and losing three. They have also kept just one clean sheet at the Stadio Olimpico during that run.

  • Juventus have gone over 300 minutes without scoring in all competitions, their longest barren spell since 2011. Their last goal came from Francisco Conceição against Villarreal earlier this month.

  • Recent meetings between these sides have been low-scoring affairs, four of the last six encounters have produced under 2.5 goals, with Juventus winning three of those by a single-goal margin.

Player to Watch

Kenan Yildiz

At just 20 years old, Kenan Yildiz has quickly become one of Juventus’s most intriguing young prospects, offering a rare blend of technical flair, confidence, and creativity in a team that has often struggled for inspiration. The Turkish international has shown flashes of brilliance this season. His close control, intelligent movement, and ability to operate between the lines make him a valuable asset in Igor Tudor’s evolving system.

Yildiz’s natural composure on the ball allows him to dictate attacking transitions with maturity beyond his age. ............

Against a Lazio defence that tends to sit deep and absorb pressure, Yildiz’s agility and unpredictability could prove decisive. His ability to glide past defenders and create openings from tight spaces will be key in breaking down Maurizio Sarri’s compact shape. If Juventus are to end their scoring drought, Yildiz’s inventiveness and quick link-up play may well be the spark that reignites their attack.

Prediction

SS Lazio 0-1 Juventus

Both teams enter this fixture under pressure and struggling for rhythm, which sets the stage for a tense and tactical battle at Stadio Olimpico. Lazio’s home record has been disappointing for over a year, with only two league victories in their last fifteen games, and their injury crisis leaves Maurizio Sarri short of options in attack and defence. Without Valentin Castellanos and Matteo Cancellieri, Lazio’s forward line lacks its usual sharpness, relying heavily on Mattia Zaccagni and Boulaye Dia to find moments of creativity.

Juventus, meanwhile, are desperate to halt their scoring drought, having gone over 300 minutes without a goal. Yet, history is on their side, they have found the net in 28 of their last 29 visits to the Olimpico, and Igor Tudor will expect a reaction after back-to-back defeats. The potential return of Manuel Locatelli to midfield should restore some balance, while young Kenan Yildiz’s creativity could finally unlock the attacking rhythm that has been missing.

Given Lazio’s defensive inconsistencies and Juventus’s attacking frustration, a cautious, low-scoring contest appears likely. Both sides may find success in moments rather than sustained dominance, and a solitary goal could prove decisive.

Lazio vs Juventus probable lineups: Tudor to finally unleash striking duo?

Jonathan David Ingin Duet dengan Vlahovic di Juventus, tapi Tudor Belum Setuju, Mengapa? - Radar Madiun

Juventus will be keen to put an end to their negative streak when they take on Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Igor Tudor’s men haven’t tasted victory in their last seven outings across all competitions, and are now coming off back-to-back defeats to Como and Real Madrid. ............

Tudor is considering a 4-4-2 system spearheaded by Dusan Vlahovic and Jonathan David. This would be the first time these two strikers play side by side from the first minute.

On the other hand, Kenan Yildiz would be rested for the first time in months. The Turkiye international was the stand-in captain at the Santiago Bernabeu, but wasn’t able to produce the goods. ............

With Khephren Thuram picking up a slight knock in midweek, Teun Koopmeiners and Manuel Locatelli should start in the double pivot, while the versatile Weston McKennie takes the left wing, and Francisco Conceicao operates on the opposite flank.

Finally, the backline will consist of Pierre Kalulu, Federico Gatti, Lloyd Kelly and Andrea Cambiaso, with Michele Di Gregorio in goal. ............

Lazio & Juventus probable lineups

Lazio (4-3-3): Provedel; Lazzari, Gila, Romagnoli, Marusic; Guendouzi, Cataldi, Basic; Isaksen, Dia, Zaccagni.

Juventus (4-4-2): Di Gregorio; Kalulu, Gatti, Kelly, Cambiaso; Conceicao, Locatelli, Koopmeiners, McKennie; David, Vlahovic.

Concern for Juventus as Kenan Yildiz asked to be rested against Lazio

Juventus, Yildiz tra rinnovo e nuovo agente: occhio alle sirene estere

Juventus are worried about the condition of Kenan Yildiz, who has reportedly requested some rest ahead of Sunday’s clash against Lazio.

The young forward is considered an irreplaceable player in Igor Tudor’s plans, so he has started in each of the club’s 10 fixtures this season, registering two goals and four assists in the process. Only Pierre Kalulu and Lloyd Kelly have collected more minutes than the Turkiye international. ............

In his pre-match press conference, Tudor revealed that Yildiz is also suffering from a slight knee problem, which has been hampering his performances.

While the manager didn’t specify the player’s condition, it's as patellar tendinopathy. The source believes that this issue can be managed while avoiding a spell on the sidelines, but the attacker’s playing time must be carefully managed. ............

The report adds that Yildiz himself has asked to be rested against Lazio, so he’s expected to start the contest on the bench, before receiving a second-half cameo.

Therefore, Tudor could shift to a 4-4-2 formation, with Dusan Vlahovic and Jonathan David starting alongside one another for the first time, with Francisco Conceicao and Weston McKennie take the wings. ............

With Juventus playing twice a week, Tudor will certainly have to drop Yildiz on a few occasions, as losing his most influential player to injury would be a devastating blow at this stage.

Referee controversy continues in Lazio vs Juventus after drama in Napoli win over Inter

ROME, ITALY - OCTOBER 26: The referee Andrea Colombo during the Serie A match between SS Lazio and Juventus FC at Stadio Olimpico on October 26, 2025 in Rome, Italy. (Photo by Marco Rosi - SS Lazio/Getty Images)

After refereeing controversy in Napoli’s 3-1 win over Inter, tonight’s game between Lazio and Juventus has also had several key incidents that continue to shine negative light on officiating in Serie A. ............

The incident involved a potential penalty for Juventus, after Mario Gila was judged to have stood on the foot of Bianconeri winger Francisco Conceicao.

The Juventus man went down and Gila immediately looked sheepish, anticipating a spot-kick for the visitors. ............

However, after VAR review, the referee’s on-field decision stood and no penalty was given. ............

Serie A | Lazio 1-0 Juventus: Basic adds to Old Lady problems

Lazio-Juventus 1-0: senza Yildiz Tudor non sa accendere la squadra e il VAR resta spento

Juventus fell to a third consecutive defeat in all competition, as Toma Basic made the most of Jonathan David’s error for a Lazio victory, but both sides were furious with controversial refereeing.

The Bianconeri were without a win in seven competitive games, fresh from back-to-back defeats to Como and Real Madrid. ............

Isaksen squirmed between three to pull back at the by-line, forcing Federico Gatti into a panicked clearance from five yards, and the deadlock was broken soon after.

David got his back-pass header completely wrong, giving it straight to Danilo Cataldi, and Toma Basic saw his strike from outside the area deflected off Gatti to totally wrong-foot Perin. ............

Kenan Yildiz replaced Cambiaso for the restart in a very attacking Juve formation, but Vlahovic’s blushes were spared by the offside flag for Kelly after firing onto the crossbar from 12 yards on his assist. ............

There was even more controversy on the hour mark when Mario Gila appeared to tread on Conceicao’s foot, but the referee waved play on and VAR did not intervene for a penalty either. ............

Player Ratings: Lazio 1-0 Juventus – Isaksen shines as David woes continue

210118625-68ee3381-2492-448b-8d12-75b0fb69bfd3.jpg

Lazio beat Juventus 1-0 at the Stadio Olimpico this evening and Gustav Isaksen is Man of the Match. ............

Lazio: Provedel 6; Lazzari 6 (Pellegrini 6), Gila 6, Romagnoli 6.5, Marusic 5.5; Guendouzi 6, Cataldi 6.5, Basic 7 (Vecino 5.5); Isaksen 7.5 (Pedro N/A), Dia 5.5, Zaccagni 6

Best Lazio player: Isaksen. ............

Lowest Lazio Rating: Dia ............

Coach: Sarri 7 – Set up well against a strong Juventus and did just enough to secure the three points. ............

Juventus: Perin 6; Kalulu 6, Gatti 5.5 (Joao Mario N/A), Lloyd Kelly 5.5,;Cambiaso 6 (Yildiz 6); Conceicao 6.5, Koopmeiners 6 (Thuram 6), Locatelli 6.5, McKennie 5.5 (Openda N/A); Vlahovic 5.5, David 5.

Best Juventus player: Conceicao – Despite not being able to get his team a point, the Portuguese winger was effective in his duties this evening. Potentially should have been awarded a penalty after a foul from Mario Gila in the box and was fairly lucid in an otherwise tame performance from the Bianconeri.

Lowest Juventus rating: David – Involved in a goal tonight, but not in the way he would’ve liked. At fault for Lazio’s opener, the Canadian struggled to redeem himself and was eventually hooked just after the hour mark. Life has not started well for the former Lille man in Turin.

Coach: Tudor 5 – Showing the signs of a coach under immense pressure, Tudor took risks today and they failed to pay off. His front two of Vlahovic and David continue to struggle to develop any sort of chemistry together and his decision to bring on Kenan Yildiz at half-time was a little too late.

Juventus player ratings vs Lazio: David woeful at both ends

210118272-ebe7d25f-9f26-4852-b356-440fa6dfda79.jpg

Juventus extended their miserable run by suffering a third defeat in a week, this time at the hands of Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Biancocelesti struck early through a deflected effort from Toma Basic, before retreating back and vigorously defending their lead for the rest of the contest. On the other hand, the Bianconeri were too slow and stagnant in attack to pose a threat to their opponents, even though the team’s display improved in the second half. ............

Juventus XI (4-4-2)

Mattia Perin – 6

 ............

Pierre Kalulu – 6

 ............

Federico Gatti – 6.5

The Italian defender made a series of key interventions, including a goal-line clearance.

Lloyd Kelly –  5

The former Newcastle man looked confused at times, and had trouble containing Gustav Isaksen. He ran the risk of receiving a second yellow card.

Andrea Cambiaso – 6

The wing-back was arguably Juve’s most dangerous player in the first half. He defended well and put David through on goal, but was nowhere to be seen after the break.

Francisco Conceicao – 6

The Portuguese tried to get something going, but his highlights were too few and far between. Perhaps he should have earned Juventus a spot-kick

Teun Koopmeiners – 5.5

The Dutchman worked hard, but he simply isn’t adding anything to the equation, whether in the attacking or defending phase.

Manuel Locatelli – 5.5

 ............

Weston McKennie – 5.5

 ............

Jonathan David – 4

The Canadian gifted Lazio the opener with a needless back-pass. He also squandered the team’s best chance in the first half, as he couldn’t beat Ivan Provedel from close range, and was often wasteful in possession.

Dusan Vlahovic – 4.5

The Serbian was given 90+ minutes to inflict the damage upfront, but his clinical touch abandoned him every time the ball came his way.

Substitutes

Kenan Yildiz – 5.5

The Turkish star added some flair to the final third following his entry, but he’s obviously far from his best, as he was often dispossessed.

Khephren Thuram – 6

The midfield improved with the France international on the pitch, but couldn’t beat Provedel with his header.

Filip Kostic – 6

 ............

Loic Openda – 6

 ............

Joao Mario – N/A

Tudor: ‘Juventus in a bad moment, but I don’t care about my future’

ROME, ITALY - OCTOBER 26: Juventus head coach Igor Tudor reacts during the Serie A match between SS Lazio and Juventus FC at Stadio Olimpico on October 26, 2025 in Rome, Italy. (Photo by Marco Rosi - SS Lazio/Getty Images)

Igor Tudor was critical of Andrea Cambiaso and Jonathan David after Juventus suffered a third straight defeat to Lazio, but insisted he ‘doesn’t care about my future.’ ............

Tudor evidently wasn’t happy, as within 10 minutes he had Filip Kostic warming up and was shouting at Cambiaso, who was eventually replaced at half-time. ............

“Kostic was warming up because I saw Cambiaso was not doing well, but in general the team had the right attitude from the start, apart from Johnny’s error and that goal,” Tudor said.

“It is a bad moment, a difficult moment, we need to stay united and all work together. There is disappointment, because I think we prepared it the right way, but we are always missing something. We get to the penalty area and then don’t put the ball in the net.

“We also keep telling ourselves don’t make mistakes, but there is always a mistake, and we lose games. We feel terrible, but we have to stick together.” ............

Their biggest problem would seem to be clear, as this was Juve’s fourth consecutive match without scoring a goal, something they hadn’t seen since March 1991 under legendary flop Gigi Maifredi.

“We tried with two strikers from the start, then four attacking players, we tried everything, but are certainly missing something upfront,” confessed Tudor. ............

“We are all responsible. We must try to do better and stay united, we have another game in a couple of days, I think a victory will get us on the right track. It’s a problem if we need four strikers to score and 10 midfielders when defending. It is a problem if someone always makes a mistake.

“As I said, there’s no need to make a drama out of it, we play again soon and need to stay focused.” ............

“It was a decision because Kenan needed rest. Johnny and Dusan have goals in their blood, but we put the crosses in and in the final third someone has to put it in the net, otherwise nothing happens and you get punished for every tiny error at the back.” ............

“I saw Cambiaso was struggling with Isaksen and when attacking we wanted him to cover the whole wing, but I didn’t like the way Andrea was interpreting the role. McKennie can cover the wing and Andrea can be a mezz’ala, so I swapped them.” ............

“People keep asking me if I feel safe or worried, but I don’t think about myself. I don’t care about my future, what I care about is doing what I can, being aware of all the problems and trying to improve things. My future is of zero interest.”

Lazio 1-0 Juventus – Alarming night of statistics for the Bianconeri

210118287-8a8e4f1d-3eba-4313-bbe0-abde80ebbb51.jpg

Lazio emerged as 1-0 victors over Juventus this evening as the pressure continues to pile on Bianconeri head coach Igor Tudor. ............

For Igor Tudor, an initially strong start to the season has quickly eroded and now it seems as though his days are numbered in Turin. ............

As per Opta, it is the first time that the Old Lady have gone four games consecutively, in all competitions, without scoring, since 1991.

Furthermore, it is the Bianconeri’s longest winless streak since 2009 when Claudio Ranieri was in charge. ............

To add insult to injury, it was Lazio’s fastest goal against Juventus since Giuseppe Favalli’s third-minute goal in March 1996.

Overall, a dismal evening for Juventus as Tudor continues to break records, for all the wrong reasons.

Lazio 1 - Juventus 0: Initial reaction and random observations

-

SS Lazio v Juventus FC - Serie A

Another game has come and gone without Juventus winning.

Or even getting a damn point.

This team is spiraling. They’re out of ideas. They don’t have an identity. They don’t have that same fighting spirity we saw just six weeks ago in the Derby d’Italia comeback last month. And they’re not showing any sort of signs of snapping out of it — not even with what many viewed as an improved performance just four days earlier against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Instead, it was a third defeat in the span of eight days for Igor Tudor and Juventus with Sunday night’s 1-0 loss to Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico. It only extended the run of games without a win for Juventus — which stretches all the way back to that same victory over Inter Milan six weeks ago at the Allianz Stadium. Since then, Juventus have seemingly forgotten how to score, are looking totally bereft of anything that connects things in attack, are disorganized at the back, have a midfield that doesn’t make any sort of notable impact and don’t show many signs — if any — of snapping out of this funk with how things are currently being run.

If Tudor wasn’t worried about his job status entering the trip to the Italian capital, you have to wonder just how much longer he has as Juventus’ manager and what the chat is going to be like following this loss.

And to add a little extra salt in the wound, this was a Lazio side that had barely won at home during the 2025 calendar year. ............

It’s hard to know where this team can suddenly improve to potentially save Tudor’s job. They did good things against Real Madrid, sure, but then they come right back and look a lot like the team that lost to Como while facing Lazio. Lazio, to their credit, got the early goal and then just sat on it and dared Juventus to try and beat them. ............

Juve have gone four straight games without scoring a goal now — and it’s not like they’re looking like they’re just getting unlucky more than anything. ............

This isn’t solely Tudor’s fault nor should it be viewed that way. This roster, even when everybody is healthy, can be viewed as one that isn’t a complete one. The depth is an issue. The fact that they spent so much on the attack yet didn’t address the backline is being reflected now.

But it’s not like he’s doing a lot to help this team. They need a spark in the worst possible way — and they continue to fail to actually find one. Doesn’t matter if it’s the players or the manager. ............

Should Juve have deserved a penalty when Chico Conceição’s foot was stomped on in the Lazio penalty area? Well, yeah. The fact that his foot got stepped on in the box, he went down and they didn’t even go to VAR to check is just another example of the systematic problem with a replay setup that is being run by folks who are also inconsistent at their job.

Even without getting that penalty call, what did Juve show us today? What did they do well? What kind of sign did they show us that they are going to snap out of this and maybe go on some sort of run to get back into the top four.

I don’t think they did. I know I’m not going to be alone in thinking that.

With AC Milan’s draw with Pisa all the way back on Friday and Napoli’s win over Inter 24 hours earlier, Juventus (somehow) had the chance to get within three points of the new league leaders. Instead, they did what they did on Sunday night and are sitting in a very un-Juventus-like eighth place as they suddenly turn their attention to midweek Serie A action against Udinese and then a trip to Cremona to face Cremonese.

I honestly have no idea if Tudor will be around to face either of those teams with how things are going.

It was just another unwatchable performance from a team that is looking mediocre at best this season. There feels like no real in-house answer in sight. That might be the most worrying thing of all.

RANDOM THOUGHTS AND OBSERVATIONS

 ............

  • Honestly, it was so bad that actually paying complete attention to what Juventus was (or wasn’t) doing in the second half felt like a task in of itself. They are just 11 players out there right now with no sort of cohesion or tactical plan right now. And it’s not even November yet.
  • And Kenan Yildiz, potential knee issue and all, is out there trying to will this team to a win? My man, I love you for that, but now is not the time to risk things for your future.
  • Let’s face it, the way this current club is constructed and looking on the field, why would Yildiz want to commit long term to it? Hard to know how much that fact is playing into the prolonged contract negotiations, but you gotta feel at this point that it certainly ain’t helping at all.
  • Just so we’re clear, though: Yes, it was a penalty and the fact they didn’t even check it just shows us (again) how inept these Serie A referees can be when it comes to important calls. ............
  • I’m pretty sure I lost count of how many long passes Manuel Locatelli tried against Lazio that went right to the other team.
  • Boy, that header by David that was meant for a teammate but went right to somebody in light blue and turned into a goal five seconds later sure does sum up how things are going for him at Juventus.
  • Remember the Juventus side that played quick and direct when Tudor first showed up in place of Thiago Motta in the spring? I miss that kind of team. This one just had so much possession against Lazio and failed to really do much of anything with it.
  • Juventus attempted 34 crosses against Lazio. They were successful with six of them. ............
  • All that possession and Juve just barely outshot Lazio 14-13. Nice. ............
  • Chico as a quasi-wingback? Sure. why not. (At least he’s working his ass off out there, right?)
  • It’s one thing for Andrea Cambiaso to get turned around by one of Real Madrid’s star attacking players. It’s another thing when it’s Gustav freakin’ Isaksen. ............
  • Since Juventus’ last win in September, they’re currently sitting just above the relegation zone when it comes to points earned over that span. Good times. ............

Lazio 1-0 Juventus | Perin: ‘We must stay united – we’re not showing our level’

-

Mattia Perin urged Juventus to stay united and rediscover their identity after a damaging 1-0 defeat away to Lazio, a result that deepens the pressure on Igor Tudor and extends the Bianconeri’s winless run. ............

Perin stressed that the mood in the dressing room is one of disappointment rather than resignation. “We feel a lot of sadness and frustration,” he said.

“We train well during the week, but we’re not showing that in matches. It’s difficult to find a single answer, but we must stay united and compact, because right now we are not proving to be at the level we should be.” ............

“I already knew before Madrid that I would play,” Perin revealed.

“But I can’t be happy when results aren’t coming. We believe in the coach’s ideas, and emotionally we like what he transmits to us. It’s difficult to understand why things aren’t working, but I’m sure we’ll raise our level.” ............

Perin also described a post-match discussion between the squad and Tudor aimed at stopping the slide. “We spoke to understand why these defeats are happening,” he explained.

“There is the desire from everyone to get out of this as soon as possible. Fortunately, we play again in three days and that could help us turn this moment around.” ............

Del Piero on Juventus crisis: ‘Not as if this team would win with another coach’

-ROME, ITALY - OCTOBER 26: Players of Juventus pose for a team photograph prior to the Serie A match between SS Lazio and Juventus FC at Stadio Olimpico on October 26, 2025 in Rome, Italy. (Photo by Paolo Bruno/Getty Images)

Alessandro Del Piero insists Igor Tudor is ‘not the problem’ at Juventus and ‘it’s not as if with another coach this squad would win the Scudetto.’ ............

They are on their longest winless streak in all competition since 2009, as after five draws in a row between Serie A and the Champions League, they lost three on the bounce. ............

With Tudor continually chopping and changing the line-up and tactics, is there too much confusion on the bench?

“I wouldn’t say confusion is the right word,” Del Piero said when analysing his beloved Juventus.

“The coach is not the problem, it’s more complicated than that, and includes how the team has struggled to come together so far this season.” ............

Although there were 1-0 defeats to Real Madrid and Lazio, Del Piero still saw some signs of improvement.

“The team was alive and did not deserve to lose tonight, perhaps a draw was the right result. They weren’t bad against Madrid either, the problem was the performance against Como.

“In any case, it’s not as if with another coach this team would win the Scudetto.” ............

“Tudor doesn’t yet have a first choice XI, but it’s not because Tudor doesn’t want to find it, it’s because aside from a few individuals, the others have struggled to perform consistently.

“If you look at the best teams in Italy and Europe, they more or less all have a regular XI that will start the big games.”

Marelli insists Juventus were denied a penalty against Lazio: “Gila realised he messed up”

Lazio-Juve, i casi arbitrali analizzati a Sky Calcio Club | Video Sky Sport

Former Serie A referee Luca Marelli believes Juventus should have been awarded a penalty in the second half against Lazio.

The Aquile aggravated the Bianconeri’s wounds by beating them 1-0 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Toma Basic’s early strike was enough to earn Maurizio Sarri’s men a valuable victory.

However, things could have drastically changed when Mario Gila appeared to have clipped Francisco Conceicao in his own penalty box. ............

The Portuguese winger went to the ground wailing in agony, claiming the Spanish defender had stomped him.

Nevertheless, match official Andrea Colombo immediately dismissed the incident, waving play on, while the VAR decided not to intervene, even though the slow-motion replays suggested that Conceicao may have indeed been fouled. ............

For his part, Marelli admitted that Gila’s challenge warranted a penalty kick, and that the latter’s facial expressions exposed his guilt.

“Gila immediately realised he had messed up,” said the esteemed refereeing expert in his post-match appearance.

“His right foot was on Conceicao’s left. The Juventus player certainly searched for contact, but all players do it.

“I don’t understand why an On-Field Review wasn’t called. In my opinion, this is a clear penalty.”

Unfortunately for Juventus, this isn’t the first time they’ve been hard done by the refereeing this season.

Igor Tudor was also furious with the match official and the VAR following the 1-1 draw against Hellas Verona. ............

Preview:Juventus vs Udinese - prediction, team news, lineups

Juventus vs Udinese Prediction, Stats, H2H - 29 Oct 2025

Having gone eight games without a win, fallen giants Juventus are amid a full-blown crisis before welcoming Udinese to Turin on Wednesday.

In a battle of the Bianconeri, Juve will seek a response after sacking their coach, but an away win would see the Fruilani leapfrog their hosts in the Serie A standings.

Match preview

After failing to produce a response to going 1-0 down within 10 minutes at Stadio Olimpico, Juventus lost to Lazio on Sunday evening, recording their third straight defeat across all competitions.

The last time Juve claimed maximum points was in mid-September, when they won a seven-goal Derby d'Italia against Inter Milan by freakishly scoring with all of their shots on target.

Having previously lost 2-0 to Como and 1-0 to Real Madrid - following a tense goalless draw with AC Milan - the Turin club have now failed to score in almost 400 minutes of action since Francisco Conceicao found the net against Villarreal.

With just two points from their first trio of Champions League fixtures, Juventus have also been performing below expectations in Europe, so Igor Tudor's position inevitably came under increased scrutiny.

The axe finally fell just before the Croatian coach met his former club, who he saved from relegation during the first of two brief spells in Udine.

Following a 2-0 home victory in May, Juve have won 13 of their last 16 league games against Udinese, so at least history suggests they can stop the rot under interim boss Massimo Brambilla. ............

Juventus Serie A form:

W D D D L L

Juventus form (all competitions):

D D D L L L

Udinese Serie A form:

W L L D D L

Udinese form (all competitions):

L W L D D W

Team News

Juventus are still missing Brazilian defender Bremer and Colombian wing-back Juan Cabal due to injury, but Brambilla should otherwise have a full squad to choose from.

The caretaker coach has to solve a quandary up front, where Lois Openda, Jonathan David and contract rebel Dusan Vlahovic are all vying for selection: the latter two were paired against Lazio but still failed to score.

Regular starters Michele Di Gregorio, Kenan Yildiz and Khephren Thuram were all benched at the weekend, but they could return to the starting XI on Wednesday. ............

Juventus possible starting lineup:

Di Gregorio; Kalulu, Gatti, Kelly; Conceicao, Locatelli, Thuram, Cambiaso; Koopmeiners, Yildiz; Vlahovic

Udinese possible starting lineup:

Okoye; Bertola, Kabasele, Solet; Zanoli, Piotrowski, Karlstrom, Atta, Kamara; Zaniolo, Davis

We say: Juventus 1-1 Udinese

Although precedent strongly suggests that Juventus should win, recent showings cast doubt on their chances.

Not only are Juve in total disarray at the moment, but Udinese have now found some form and are well set up under Runjaic.

Juventus vs Udinese: Preview and Prediction

Juventus vs Udinese: Prediction, Preview, lineups, tips and odds on October 29, 2025 – Ratingbet.com

Ninth-placed Udinese will look to build on the win in their last outing when they hit the road to the Allianz Arena square up against Juventus, who have been struggling for some time now and have parted ways with their manager.

The home team are eighth on the points table with just 12 points in their eight outings. They have been winless in their last five league outings and have suffered defeats in their last two. They are heading into this fixture on the back of a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Lazio.

Despite dominating possession and creating quite a few chances, the Italian giants failed to find the back of the net. Overall, they have been winless in their last eight outings, and it has led to the sacking of Igor Tudor. Massimo Brambilla has been handed the reins on a temporary basis. ............

Team News & Tactics

Juventus

The home team remain without the services of Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal. Apart from the duo, everyone else should be available for selection for Juventus when they host Udinese this midweek.

Despite Igor Tudor’s departure, Juventus are expected to line up in a 3-4-2-1 formation, where Michele Di Gregorio will continue in goal. In the heart of the defence, Pierre Kalulu will start alongside Federico Gatti and Lloyd Kelly.

Francisco Conceicao and Andrea Cambiaso will feature as the wing-backs, while Manuel Locatelli will partner with Khephren Thuram in a more central role. The midfield duo will look to ensure they dominate the ball and control the tempo. Teun Koopmeiners and Kenan Yildiz should be the two attacking midfielders behind Dusan Vlahovic.

Probable Lineup (3-4-2-1): Di Gregorio; Kalulu, Gatti, Kelly; Conceicao, Locatelli, Thuram, Cambiaso; Koopmeiners, Yildiz; Vlahovic

Juventus vs Udinese Predicted XI

Udinese

 ............

Probable Lineup (3-5-2): Sava; Bertola, Kristensen, Solet; Ehizibue, Piotrowski, Karlstrom, Atta, Zemura; Bravo, Davis

Juventus vs Udinese Predicted XI

Key Stats

  • Juventus have been winless in their last eight games across competitions.
  • Udinese have lost 13 out of their last 16 games against the Turin-based club.
  • The Old Lady have failed to win any of their last five league outings. After a run of three consecutive draws, they have suffered back-to-back defeats in the Serie A.
  • Prior to their win over Lecce, Udinese were also on a four-match winless run.
  • The Turin-based outfit have failed to score a goal in any of their last four outings.

Player to Watch

Kenan Yildiz

Given the kind of form Juventus have been in, they do need someone to step up and deliver a sensational performance, and Yildiz can certainly be that guy. The 20-year-old Turkish gem has already established himself as one of their mainstays, and he certainly has the quality to be the difference between the two teams on Wednesday.

While the Bianconeri have been struggling, Yildiz still has six goal contributions in his 11 outings. He is in fine form and will certainly be eager to help his team return to winning ways when they host Udinese.

Prediction

Juventus 2-2 Udinese

Both teams head into this fixture looking to build some momentum after inconsistent starts to the season. Juventus have struggled badly in recent weeks, failing to win any of their last eight games across all competitions.

The sacking of Igor Tudor has only added to the uncertainty around the club, but with Massimo Brambilla taking temporary charge, the Old Lady will hope for an immediate response in front of their fans. Udinese, on the other hand, will be buoyed by their recent 3-2 win over Lecce, which ended a four-match winless run.

The visitors will look to exploit Juventus’s defensive vulnerabilities and will believe they can take something away from this game. However, their backline has looked shaky at times, and keeping a clean sheet against a desperate Juventus side might prove difficult. ............

Evra derides ‘soft’ Juventus players and sees Manchester United comparisons

Lazio vs Juventus – Match preview and team news - Yahoo Sports

Patrice Evra released a video attacking Juventus players as ‘soft’ and seeing comparisons between Igor Tudor’s sacking and when David Moyes was fired by Manchester United. ............

“I just want to go back on the sacking of Tudor. Thank you coach for everything. This is a message for the players.

“When they fire the coach, it means you haven’t done your job on the field. It only happened to me once in my whole career, when I was at Manchester United and they sacked David Moyes. I felt like s**t, and I hope the players right now at Juventus feel the same way, because they’ve gone through three or four coaches in a couple of years now.

“You are at Juve, you have to take responsibility. The problem is this doesn’t work on the new generation, it is a soft generation. So all the commentators and pundits who are ex-players are wasting their time talking to them.

“We were football players, we played for passion, for the shirt, for history, to put food in the mouths of our families.

“This generation are athletes more than players. They are brands, they are rappers, fashionistas, get involved in politics. There are too many distractions.

“This is why I am not harsh on them, as we didn’t have those distractions. We would eat, sleep, play football, that’s it. The world has changed, not just football.

“Juve have changed completely, we have lost the real values. I remember my first game with Andrea Agnelli, I was happy to see the history everywhere, we had Pavel Nedved, Platini, others. ............

“Remove the coach, now there is no excuse. If you don’t want to stay there at Juve, then leave. You are too soft.” ............

Alessio Tacchinardi explains what the current Juventus team lacks

Does Juventus have the squad to target Champions League and Serie A titles? - | Juvefc.com

Juventus are enduring one of the most difficult periods in its modern history, and the recent dismissal of another manager has only deepened concerns about the club’s direction. The Bianconeri have now sacked two managers in the same year, a sign of just how turbulent things have become in Turin. Alessio Tacchinardi, a former Juventus midfielder, has expressed his alarm at the situation and questioned the team’s mentality and leadership. ............

The once-dominant force of Italian football now finds itself struggling to compete both domestically and in Europe. Despite investing heavily in recent years, Juventus appear a shadow of the side that once claimed multiple consecutive league titles. The current squad, while containing several talented players, has been criticised for lacking identity and the fighting spirit that defined earlier generations.

Tacchinardi believes the club’s ongoing instability is damaging its long-term prospects. He notes that while managers have come and gone, the deeper issue lies in the team’s mentality. The players, in his view, have not demonstrated the character or leadership expected at a club of Juventus’ stature. ............

Tacchinardi was forthright in his analysis of the current situation. He said: “We lack leaders, players with depth and charisma who take responsibility. Del Piero is right: there are no men with Juventus DNA, those who give everything and pin those who don’t against the wall, those who feel bad and suffer if they don’t win. I was in Madrid and there were people happy to have lost but with their heads held high. That’s not Juve.”

His comments reflect the frustration felt by many former players and supporters who have watched the club’s standards drop. The lack of leadership both on the pitch and in the dressing room has left Juventus without the resilience it once prided itself on. ............

Round 9: Juventus vs. Udinese match preview

Kijk Juventus FC - Udinese Calcio Live Streams | DAZN BE

The hammer has fallen and Igor Tudor is no longer Juventus’ manager. ............

Juventus dismissed Tudor on a Monday. All of 48 or so hours later, Juventus have another game with the first midweek edition of Serie A this season. The man who will be leading the team on the sidelines, Next Gen head coach Massimo Brambilla, will only be there for one game — or so we think. As Juve work to secure a more experienced/suitable/well-known replacement for Tudor, Brambilla will be the one who will take the helm on Wednesday evening when Juventus face Udinese in a class all-bianconero battle between the teams sitting in eighth and ninth place, respectively, at the Allianz Stadium.

Brambilla, in his second stint as the Next Gen squad’s manager, has done plenty of really good work in Serie C. But he now — albeit for one game as we await Luciano Spalletti to take things over come Thursday’s training session — steps into a situation a lot like when he was brought back to Turin early last season. You know, the kind of squad that needs something to turn things in the right direction. Or, since it’s widely assumed he’s just in place as the caretaker manager to face Udinese and that’s it, to just try and stop the bleeding before Tudor’s longer-term replacement comes in later in the week. ............

Just what the vibe at the Allianz Stadium will be like on Wednesday as Udinese come to Turin will be an interesting one. Juve are on their worst run of form in 16 years and haven’t gone four games without a goal since 1991. In their first two league games out of the October international break, Juve have looked increasingly out of sorts in so many different phases of the game.

Brambilla, for all that he’s accomplished with the Next Gen squad (especially last season after coming back to the club while it was in the midst of a terrible run of form), has never coached in Serie A. And while this is looked at as a one-game deal and then he’s back with his usual Next Gen squad, it’s a game that Juventus need to desperately win to try and put this winless run to an end once and for all. ............

TEAM NEWS

  • Brambilla did not hold a pre-match press conference, so it’s hard to know where things stand fitness-wise of some players — most notably Kenan Yildiz, who was bugged by a bit of a knee issue entering the trip to Rome — as Juventus get set to face Udinese on short rest. ............
    • Based on the predicted lineups that have come out in the Italian press on Tuesday, the thinking is that Brambilla won’t stray too far away from the 3-4-2-1 that Tudor used for the vast majority of his time with Juventus.
    • While most of the starting lineup seems pretty straightforward for Brambilla, there are a couple of rumored runoffs between Juventus players: Jonathan David and Dusan Vlahovic up front, Weston McKennie or Joao Mario as the wingback on the right, and Federico Gatti or Daniele Rugani in defense. ............

    JUVENTUS PLAYER TO WATCH

One of the biggest issues that folks had with Tudor was the constant changing of his starting lineup rather than having any sort of continuity even with the jam-packed fixture list that presents itself to a club competing on multiple fronts like Juventus are this season.

None position group is more proof of that than what Tudor did with his decisions at No. 9 spot up front in his 3-4-2-1. So while it’s not expected that Brambilla is going to shake things up in terms of formation, he could very well go with the man who played a major role in the only goal scored over the weekend against Lazio. ............

The first couple of months at Juventus for Jonathan David has not been very kind to the talented Canadian striker. (And yes, he is talented no matter what his form at Juve has shown thus far.) He has been bounced in and out of the starting lineup, and hasn’t been able to find any sort of positive rhythm at his new club — and his personal and the squad’s overall form has shown. ............

Of course, it could very well be an hour before kickoff against Udinese and Vlahovic is the one who will be leading the line for Juventus at the Allianz Stadium. But David is at least somebody who Juventus need to get going both for the immediate as well as a more longer term future considering they’ve invested a lot in him when it comes to his annual salary. Vlahovic’s future at Juventus is likely done when the 2025-26 season comes to an end. For David, though, he’s a player who will almost certainly be around for a span of time longer than that.

And Juventus need him to be the David that Canadians see with the national team as he’s decked out in red and white or what Lille supporters saw for the better part of the last five years. The real Jonathan David has yet to show himself at Juventus, and hopefully the final days October proves to be the time in which he can start anew.

Serie A | Juventus 3-1 Udinese: Managerless Old Lady rediscovers success

175817183-c52ac747-068d-4004-970e-1d4d7fc6968f.jpg

Juventus started the post-Igor Tudor era with their first win in over a month, as Dusan Vlahovic, Federico Gatti and Kenan Yildiz dismantled Udinese.

The Bianconeri were under caretaker manager Massimo Brambilla, the coach of their Next Gen team, after Monday’s sacking of Igor Tudor and three consecutive defeats in all competition. ............

It was a lightning start for the Old Lady, as in the opening minutes Openda found Vlahovic, brought down by Saba Goglichidze for a penalty which the Serbian converted successfully. ............

TURIN, ITALY - OCTOBER 29: Dusan Vlahovic of Juventus FC scores his goal from the penalty spot during the Serie A match between Juventus FC and Udinese Calcio at on October 29, 2025 in Turin, Italy. (Photo by Valerio Pennicino/Getty Images)

However, Udinese equalised in first half stoppages when Juve got into a tangle playing their way out from the back, and after Buksa’s effort was charged down into his path, Zaniolo took a touch before bending the left-foot finish into the far bottom corner. ............

Juve responded, a defensive block decisive to stop Openda’s back-heel flick from four yards. On the resulting corner, Openda again had an effort charged down in the penalty area. ............

On the resulting corner, Andrea Cambiaso floated a cross to the back post for Federico Gatti’s header from a tricky angle, surprising Okoye. ............

Kenan Yildiz hit a solo effort that again tested the Udinese goalkeeper, then his low finish through Goglichidze’s legs clipped the base of the upright. ............

Kenan Yildiz fired over when he could’ve rolled across for substitute Jonathan David, then went on a slalom in the penalty area and went down in a coming together with Goglichidze. Initially, the referee had given a foul against the Juve man, but saw on the VAR review that it was the Turkish talent who got there first. Kenan Yildiz converted the penalty himself to end this negative Bianconeri streak.

Juventus 3-1 Udinese

Vlahovic pen 5 (J), Zaniolo 45 (U), Gatti 67 (J), Kenan Yildiz pen 96 (J)

Player ratings: Juventus 3-1 Udinese – Yildiz puts the cherry on top

193412990-faa84bad-ed8f-4970-950f-ed4c04bb8c16.jpg

Juventus picked up their first victory since September 13 with a 3-1 Serie A victory against Udinese under interim head coach Massimo Brambilla on Thursday evening, with Kenan Yildiz once again putting in one of Juve’s better performances. ............

The Juve no.10 won and converted a penalty in second-half injury-time, which followed Bianconeri goals from Dusan Vlahovic and Federico Gatti. Nicolo Zaniolo had made it 1-1 moments before half-time. ............

Juventus 3-1 Udinese – Player ratings

Juventus: Di Gregorio 6; Kalulu 6, Gatti 6.5, Kelly 6; Cambiaso 6, McKennie 6, Locatelli 6, Kostic 6.5; Yildiz 7; Openda 6.5, Vlahovic 6.5.

Best Juventus player: Yildiz 7 – Yildiz continues to show why he is rated so highly in Bianconeri circles. He tested Okoye with a few shots from distance, but showed that he is capable of creating chances for himself from nothing. Should have made it 3-1 in injury time, but then won and converted a penalty that did restore his side’s two-goal advantage a few moments later.

Coach: Massimo Brambilla 6.5 – Difficult circumstances for the interim Juventus head coach, who has only had since Monday to prepare the team following the sacking of Igor Tudor. The goal drought is over, though, and the team responded well despite the Udinese equaliser just before half-time. Not the most thrilling of Juventus performances by any means, but a valuable three points have been secured. ............

Udinese: Okoye 5; Goglichidze 4, Kabasele 6, Solet 6; Ehizibue 6, Piotrowski 5.5, Karlstrom 6, Atta 6, Kamara 6; Zaniolo 6.5, Davis 5. ............

Best Udinese player: Zaniolo 6.5 – ............

Post-Tudor Juventus beat Udinese to end poor run of form

195133657-71bcfdc9-b081-44fc-a6d4-7bfb90e0afb4.jpg

Juventus returned to winning ways with an important 3-1 victory over Udinese this evening, ending a disappointing run of eight consecutive matches without a win. The Bianconeri, playing under the guidance of an interim manager, showed renewed determination and spirit as they finally secured three crucial points. The result provided a much-needed lift for both players and supporters after a challenging period marked by inconsistency and frustration.

From the opening minutes, Juventus displayed a sense of urgency that had been missing in previous games. Their positive start was rewarded after just five minutes when Dusan Vlahovic confidently converted a penalty to give Juve an early lead. The Serbian striker once again demonstrated his composure in front of goal. ............

Despite that setback, Juventus maintained its intensity and continued to push forward. The performance suggested that the players were eager to respond positively after the recent managerial change, as though they had been waiting for a fresh start to show their true potential.

However, Udinese gradually grew into the contest, gaining confidence as the first half progressed. Their persistence was rewarded when Nicolo Zaniolo equalised late in the opening period, leaving Juventus once again facing familiar doubts. ............

Juventus came out in the second half with renewed focus and began to dominate possession, pressing forward in search of the breakthrough. Federico Gatti provided the crucial second goal, putting the Bianconeri back in front and restoring belief among the players. ............

Their persistence was rewarded once more when they earned a second penalty, which Kenan Yildiz calmly converted to make it 3-1. The goal sealed a deserved victory and underlined a much-improved performance from a side desperate to regain confidence.
