Juventus fans have called for Gonzalo Higuain to stay at the club after he arrived for his preseason medical.

 

Higuain was included in Maurizio Sarri’s first training squad on Tuesday, and he checked into J Medical the following morning.

 

It was there that a group of Juve supporters made no secret of their desire for the striker to be retained. 

 

“Stay with us, Gonzalo,” was one of the chants that could be heard.

 

The 31-year-old appeared to be on the scrapheap after failed loan spells at Milan and Chelsea last season.

 

Roma are keen to take him, but his agent-brother is adamant he will not play for another Italian club.

Mino Raiola says Juventus are ‘the best team’ for Matthijs de Ligt, there is ‘nothing’ to report on Paul Pogba and that he ‘will see’ about Moise Kean.

 

Raiola took the opportunity to speak to reporters outside J Medical while De Ligt was taking his tests, and he did not hesitate to compare the defender to Pavel Nedved and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

 

“It’s not a question of who wanted him most, but Juve are the best team for him,” declared the agent.

 

“It’s important for a defender to come to Italy. He can learn to become the best in the world here.

 

“This step is necessary for his career. Certainly, he’s the best young defender.  After that, he only needs a bit of time to show that he’s the best on a different level.

 

“In terms of work and mentality, he approaches and, indeed even surpasses, Nedved. He reminds me of Ibra for his ambition.

Rai Sport is running the sensational line that Neymar’s father will meet Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici in Turin.

 

Shock links between Neymar and Juve first surfaced on Wednesday morning, when Mundo Deportivo claimed the Paris Saint-Germain forward had sounded out the Bianconeri as a possible next destination.

 

Rai journalist Paolo Paganini has since followed up that a meeting will take place between Neymar Sr and Paratici, although he stresses it is strictly ‘exploratory’ at this stage.

 

The 27-year-old became the world’s most expensive player when he joined PSG from Barcelona in the summer of 2017 for €222m.

 

He has gone on to score 51 goals in 58 games for the French giants, winning two Ligue 1 titles, but his time at the club has been overshadowed by injuries and the emergence of Kylian Mbappe.

 

The Brazilian now wants out of the club, with a return to Barca most heavily mooted, although the staggering figures involved make any transfer difficult.

Audacious reports in Spain suggest Juventus star Paulo Dybala could be used as part of an exchange deal with Paris Saint-Germain for Neymar.

 

Neymar has made it absolutely clear he wants to leave PSG this summer and postponed his return to pre-season training, further angering the club.

 

However, nobody is prepared to pay after his €222m release clause was activated from Barcelona last year.

 

The Blaugrana discussed his possible return, but PSG director Leonardo warned they were not in a position to make the deal, especially after paying €120m to get Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid.

 

Now El Chiringuito in Spain suggest Neymar could join Juventus in part-exchange for Dybala, forming an extraordinary attack with Cristiano Ronaldo.

 

It comes after Rai Sport claimed Neymar’s father would meet Juve director Fabio Paratici in Turin and Mundo Deportivo listed the Bianconeri as one of Neymar’s potential destinations.

Juventus have left their No 9 jersey vacant, amidst fresh speculation that a deal has been agreed with Inter striker Mauro Icardi.

 

Juve announced their squad for the International Champions Cup and the numbers for their new signings on Friday.

 

Gianluigi Buffon will wear No 77, with Matthijs de Ligt No 4, Aaron Ramsey No 8, Adrien Rabiot No 25 and Merih Demiral No 28.

 

Gonzalo Higuain, on the other hand, will wear No 21 on his return from Chelsea as opposed to 9.

 

That was followed by Gazzetta dello Sport reporting Icardi had agreed a five-year contract with the Old Lady worth €8m a season plus bonuses.

 

However, the newspaper is not expecting any movement until the end of August.

 

That is because Inter are demanding €50-60m for the Argentine and the Bianconeri need to free up space in their squad.

 

Giorgio Chiellini, meanwhile, has not travelled to the Far East after showing some slight discomfort in his left calf.

 

Also not making the trip are Ramsey, Moise Kean, Douglas Costa, Sami Khedira, Marko Pjaca and Mattia Perin, who is in Portugal to complete a transfer to Benfica.

Juventus are reportedly still planning to sell Gonzalo Higuain, despite the striker catching the eye in his cameo against Tottenham Hotspur.

 

Higuain appeared as a second-half substitute during Juve’s 3-2 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the International Champions Cup on Sunday.

 

The 31-year-old wore the captain’s armband, scored a goal and impressed Bianconeri fans with his overall performance.

 

However, Gazzetta dello Sport writes that did not change his fate and he remains out of the Old Lady’s plans.

New Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso has continually asserted that Chiesa would be staying put.

 

However, Gazzetta dello Sport’s Nicolo Schira writes the 21-year-old is ‘not convinced’ about the Viola project.

The forward has been given a price-tag of at least €80m and is the subject of a bidding war between Serie A giants.

 

Inter have been tracking him for months and it’s suggested they increased the proposal to €70m plus €5m in bonuses.

 

Juve fought back with cash plus Paulo Dybala, although it remains to be seen if the Argentina international would accept.

 

There is progress, as Lukaku posted a picture of himself with agent Federico Pastorello this afternoon along with the caption: “Soon to be continued.”

The brother-agent of Gonzalo Higuain is set to hold talks with Roma in the next few hours to discuss a potential move to the giallorossi this summer.

Juve are already set to sell Moise Kean to Everton for a fee of around 40 million euros but is seems as though he isn't the only striker who will leave the bianconeri this summer. Gonzalo Higuain and Mario Mandzukic can also leave.

Our correspondent Nicola Balice understands that there has been a breakthrough in Roma's chase for Higuain and the striker's brother Nicola will hold talks with Roma in the next few hours.

Roma boss Paulo Fonseca has himself tried to sign the player and while it has failed, something has changed after Juve came back from the Asia tour. Juventus already have a broad agreement for the player and an initial loan deal with the obligation to buy for 36 million euros is agreed.

This move will happen once Edin Dzeko leaves for Inter and it leaves the door open for Roma to make a move for the Argentine and it will allow Juve to go for one of Mauro Icardi and Romelu Lukaku.

Juventus are stepping up Manchester United negotiations for Romelu Lukaku and Paulo Dybala, as Fabio Paratici also flies in.

 

The exchange deal, which would include €15m cash going to Juve because La Joya is valued at €100m compared to €85m for the Belgian, continues to develop.

 

Director of sport Paratici is reported to have flown in to London for advanced negotiations, along with Lukaku’s agent Federico Pastorello.

 

The clubs continue to discuss the terms of the deal, but it all hinges on whether Dybala accepts a move to Manchester United and that is still far from certain.

And it now seems that the Spaniards have resigned themselves to missing out on the World Cup winner, with journalist Marcelo Bechler reporting on Twitter that the club have had a proposal accepted by Ajax, with the player also agreeing personal terms. 

 

With both Marca and Diario AS earlier reporting that Madrid had revived their interest in the player, Bechler was able to go one step further, explaining that Real already had an undisclosed deal in place with the club for the €60m-rated midfielder. 

 

 

After detailing the previous reports, Bechler explained: "From what I've learned, the thing goes further: there is already a proposal accepted by the Dutch club and player. Van de Beek should sign for five or six years in the next few days. Trading has been around for days."

 

If the accepted fee is in that expected region of €60m (£55m), then it would make the 22-year-old almost £100m cheaper than Pogba.

The International Champions Cup tie is in Cardiff on Saturday evening at 17.30 UK time.

 

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer named his travelling party for the game, but left out Lukaku and Darmian.

 

Both are believed to be on the market and Lukaku has skipped the last few friendly games, officially due to injury.

 

He is currently in advanced negotiations for a transfer to Juventus, having previously been linked with Inter, but that all depends on Paulo Dybala accepting a move in the other direction.

Former Juventus striker Nicola Amoruso believes Romelu Lukaku is a better fit for the Bianconeri than Paulo Dybala, ‘especially in the Champions League’.

 

Amoruso competed with the likes of Alessandro Del Piero, Filippo Inzaghi and David Trezeguet for a first-team spot at Juve between 1996 and 2002 but nonetheless managed 29 goals and three Scudetti.

 

As an ex-Old Lady hitman, he was asked about the club’s desire to swap Dybala for Manchester United’s No 9.

 

“He’s a player who has great strength, especially for Europe,” the 44-eyar-old told Il Bianconero.

 

“It’ll be crucial for Lukaku to integrate with Ronaldo so the Portuguese can take advantage of his movement and physique.

Patrice Evra discussed racism in Serie A and the Premier League, along with why Paul Pogba “felt loved” at Juventus, but not Manchester United.

 

The Frenchman announced his retirement this summer and spoke to the Mail on Sunday about his good friend Pogba, who has been linked with moves to Real Madrid or Juve.

 

“I don't know what Paul's future holds. I do know that he felt really loved in Juventus. He doesn't feel that love in Manchester.

 

“We always forget what a player is about. A player is about performing on the pitch. So kill him when he is not playing well, but if he is playing well, concentrate on that.

It is seen as a progression of the negotiations that had taken Juve to the verge of an exchange between Dybala and Romelu Lukaku.

 

However, Tuttosport don’t resolve the biggest problem that caused those negotiations to break down – Dybala does not want to join Manchester United.

Manchester United's move for Mario Mandzukic has hit a snag and the Croatian has now arrived for a training session at the Continassa.

Mandzukic was heavily linked with a move to United this summer and was said to be part of the deal that could have sent Paulo Dybala to Old Trafford and would have brought Romelu Lukaku to Turin.

We understand that some minutes ago, Mandzukic arrived at the Continassa, where he will train with the club's first team- a confirmation that he will not move to Man United.

Dybala's decision to not move to United saw the whole situation fall apart as United had prepared a contract offer for the Croatian, who was prepared to join the club.

A three-year contract worth 6.5 million net per year was ready for him , with a 35% increase compared to his Juventus contract. Juve feel that they need a physical presence up front in the side and decided against selling the player on the English transfer deadline day even though they would have accepted a fee of around 15 million euros for the striker.

There are growing reports Juventus are planning to swoop for David De Gea as a free agent when his Manchester United contract expires.

 

The Bianconeri have become experts at snapping up bargains, including Paul Pogba, Aaron Ramsey, Emre Can and Adrien Rabiot.

 

According to The Express, Sun and Daily Mirror, De Gea is ready to reject a new contract at Old Trafford, which would allow him to leave as a free agent next summer.

 

It also means the goalkeeper could sign a pre-contract agreement with his next club in January, which is precisely what Ramsey did when leaving Arsenal for Juventus.

 

There are rumours the final straw was seeing Kepa Arrizabalaga become the number one choice for Spain, along with Manchester United’s struggles to get back into the Champions League.

 

De Gea’s arrival would probably mean an exit from Turin for Wojciech Szczesny.

The Serie A champion are short at left-back, with Alex Sandro the first choice in that position, but with little cover afforded to Sarri behind the Brazilian.

 

Emerson has emerged as a target for a January bid, with Sarri having been impressed with the 25-year-old during his one-season stay at Stamford Bridge over the last campaign, reports Italian publication Calcio Mercato.

 

The Italy international displaced Marcos Alonso as the first choice left-back at Chelsea, starting the first five games of the Premier League season, before succumbing to a thigh injury that has kept him out since the home defeat to Liverpool last month.

 

Chelsea would be loathed to lose Emerson, with a transfer ban still in place until next summer and with manager Frank Lampard a fan of his attacking intentions from full-back.

 

The Brazilian-born defender was expected to sign a new contract last month, after his impressive start to the season, and the Blues may well reignite talks with Juve circling for his signature.

Juventus have reportedly offered midfielder Adrien Rabiot to Tottenham Hotspur as part of a deal which would see Christian Eriksen head to Turin.

 

The Dane, whose contract expires at the end of this season, was strongly linked with a move away from North London over the summer, with Real Madrid said to be frontrunners for his signature.

 

However, it was also claimed towards the transfer deadline that Juventus were preparing a last-ditch attempt to sign Eriksen.

 

According to Le10Sport, Juventus are willing to use Rabiot, who has been used sparingly under Maurizio Sarri, as a makeweight in a deal to land Eriksen.

 

Reports have suggested that Rabiot was already considering his Juventus future, despite joining as a free agent over the summer.

 

While Spurs would prefer to sell in January, Juventus may well hold out until the summer to sign Eriksen for free, just like they did with midfielders Rabiot, Aaron Ramsey and Emre Can.

Juventus are keeping tabs on Manchester United and Netherlands Under-21 winger Tahith Chong, according to reports.

 

Chong's contract expires at the end of the season, and both The Daily Mail and Calciomercato.com claim Juve are monitoring his situation.

 

Sporting director Fabio Paratici helped the Bianconeri sign Paul Pogba from United on a free transfer in 2012, and he has sent scouts to look at the youngster, who turns 20 next month.

 

Chong began his career at Feyenoord before moving to Old Trafford in 2016 and broke through towards the end of last term, making four appearances for the Red Devils.

 

He was born on the Caribbean island of Curacao but represents Netherlands at international level.
