Juventus vs Milan: Match Preview - Juventus

After experiencing very different emotions in midweek, Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan meet on Saturday, with second place in Serie A still up for grabs.

While Milan watched on as their arch-rivals claimed the Scudetto at San Siro, Juve squeezed through to the Coppa Italia final thanks to a late goal in Rome.

Match preview

Though they let a two-goal lead from the first leg slip and faced an embarrassing exit, a late twist in Tuesday's 3-2 aggregate win over Lazio eventually saw Juventus book their return to the Italian capital for next month's cup final.

Arkadiusz Milik scored only moments after coming on as a substitute to send the Bianconeri through from their semi-final tie, and they will be back at Stadio Olimpico for the decider against Atalanta BC in less than three weeks time.

Max Allegri's men can therefore salvage some silverware from another difficult season - with a 15th Coppa Italia trophy now in touching distance - having dramatically fallen off the pace in Serie A of late.

A run of two wins from 12 - including draws in their last two top-flight matches, against city rivals Torino and then Cagliari - has left them a distant third place in the table, five points behind Milan and some 22 adrift of top spot. ............

While Allegri once coached Milan and enjoyed great success, his opposite number this weekend represented Juventus as a player - but both men could be looking for new employment in just a few weeks time.

Stefano Pioli stands on the precipice, as Milan's sixth straight loss in the Derby della Madonnina was surely the bitterest of all: losing 2-1 to Inter Milan on Monday saw the Nerazzurri formally anointed Serie A champions, after what turned into a tempestuous clash at San Siro. ............

Team News

Max Allegri is not expected to rotate his squad despite being involved in an intense Coppa Italia semi-final on Tuesday, and swapping Wojciech Szczesny for cup 'keeper Mattia Perin may be his only change this weekend.

While Arkadiusz Milik returned to action in spectacular style, Moise Kean (knee) will be missing again this weekend, while midfielder Fabio Miretti may not return from a foot injury in time to make the bench.

Although both Milik and Kenan Yildiz are also vying for selection, Federico Chiesa - who has been directly involved in six Serie A goals against Milan - and Dusan Vlahovic (10 goals from 12 league appearances in 2024) are set to be retained up front. ............

Juventus possible starting lineup:
Szczesny; Gatti, Bremer, Danilo; Cambiaso, McKennie, Locatelli, Rabiot, Kostic; Chiesa, Vlahovic

AC Milan possible starting lineup:
Maignan; Musah, Thiaw, Gabbia, Florenzi; Adli, Reijnders; Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek, Leao; Giroud

We say: Juventus 1-0 AC Milan

Across the last six Serie A games between Juventus and Milan, only once have both sides scored. Another tight contest is on the cards for Saturday, but as the visitors must field a makeshift defence, their hosts can capitalise and close the gap to second place.

Former Juventus and AC Milan man says their weekend game has no relevance

juventus-vs-ac-milan.jpg

Former Juventus and AC Milan player José Altafini will watch both teams face each other this weekend with almost no expectations.

He strongly believes that the fixture is not important for either club. ............

Altafini says Milan should focus on preparing for next season, while Juventus should focus on winning the Italian Cup.

He said:

“A match that unfortunately counts for little compared to the past. Milan now have to think about next year ; while Juve can and he would do better to concentrate only on the possibility of winning the Italian Cup.” ............

Juventus has been handed a fitness boost as they prepare for their game against AC Milan this weekend.

The Bianconeri are currently five points behind Milan in the league table and are eager to secure a win to close the gap.

Juve also risks falling behind Bologna in the table if they lose this fixture, as only two points separate them from Thiago Motta’s men. ............

There is good news as Moise Kean is now fit again and participated in the team’s latest full training session.

The striker had been injured and was a doubt for the game, but he is back and will hope to score his first goal of the season against Milan. ............

PREDICTED LINE-UPS | JUVENTUS V MILAN

Allegri, Mourinho e Pioli, le panchine dei vip incerte che stravolgeranno la Serie A - la Repubblica

The battle for second place in the league standing continues as Milan aim to go clear of competition by defeating chasing pack Juventus.

Juventus scraped past Lazio in the semi-finals in their previous outing to reach the Coppa Italia finals. Federico Chiesa and Dusan Vlahovic gave them a headstart in the first-leg and the Biancocelesti equalised the scores on aggregate with a brace from Taty Castellanos in the second. The Bianconceri held onto their nerves and Arkadiusz Milik’s late strike stood the difference between the two sides. ............

Meanwhile, Milan come into this match on the back of a humiliating 2-1 defeat at the hands of neighbourhood rivals Inter as the victory helped the Nerazzurri clinch the Scudetto in front of their fans at the San Siro ............

Here are the predicted line-ups for the match:

Juventus (3-5-2): Szczesny; Gatti, Bremer, Danilo; Cambiaso, McKennie, Locatelli, Rabiot, Kostic; Chiesa, Vlahovic

Milan (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Musah, Thiaw, Gabbia, Florenzi; Adli, Reijnders; Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek, Leao; Giroud

This could be the perfect time for Juventus to face AC Milan

Official: Juventus vs. AC Milan starting XIs - Rebic and Paqueta start in 4-2-3-1

Tomorrow evening, Juventus welcomes AC Milan to the Allianz Stadium in a game that could have a significant impact on who finishes second behind Inter Milan in the standings. All things considered, this could be the perfect time for Juve to face their fierce rivals.

Juventus has home advantage and goes into the game in good spirits following their progress to the Coppa Italia final. Meanwhile, Milan has just lost at home to bitter local rivals Inter, which saw the Nerazzurri claim the Scudetto. ............

So, in essence, we have two teams in very different places right now. Juve is in a very positive mood, having reached a cup final, while Milan will be devastated by what transpired this week.

Of course, this does not mean that it will be a walkover for Juve. They will be up against a good side that certainly dislikes the Bianconeri and will be desperate to win in Turin. However, football is an emotional sport and right now, Juve is in far better shape in that regard.

It will be a tough match, but Juve does have the advantage. Milan will be weakened because of suspensions, and the timing of this game is probably as good as it can be for Juventus.

Allegri: Next season will be beautiful for Juventus

Coach’s comments ahead of Juventus clash against Milan

SS Lazio v Juventus FC: Semi-final Second Leg - Coppa Italia

Juventus will host Milan with a last opportunity to rein in the second-placed side and get the closing stanza to their own season back on track. Two wins in the last twelve games has not only seen Juve fall out of contending for the Scudetto, but there’s a very real chance now that fourth-placed Bologna could overhaul them with the two teams set to meet in the penultimate weekend of the season.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference, coach Massimiliano Allegri talked about the upcoming game.

“Tomorrow is Juventus-Milan, always a good game to play. Milan are a strong team with valuable players. Winning the [Coppa Italia] semi-final has allowed us to partially achieve one of our objectives.

“Now we have three games before the final where we have to get as many possible points to qualify for the Champions League.

“Tomorrow is a match, in case of a victory which won’t be easy, that can give us the opportunity to get to second place. Next season will be beautiful, because when you play a lot of competitions it’s stimulating.” ............

The coach was asked what was missing in this Juventus side that they needed to lift the Scudetto again.

“The club and those who carry out the transfer market must answer this question. I am the coach and not the transfer market. We must remain focused on our Champions League objective. This would allow us to see Juventus in more competitions and then there’s the economic aspect.

“Now we have to stay focused, because the teams behind us are scoring points. We have to be good at playing a good game and winning again in the league.” ............

Would winning the Coppa Italia change his perception of how this season has transpired?

“These are not my exploits, they belong to everyone. Of a strong club, of a strong team. When we are at Juventus everyone must have the ambition to win. Then if the others are better, we have to work to improve. ............

“Juve can’t play with fire.” Pavan warns Juventus ahead of the AC Milan match

Max Allegri being considered for the England job after Euro 2024 | Juvefc.com

Juventus has an important fixture this weekend as they face AC Milan. They must win this game to maintain the narrow gap between them and Bologna. ............

However, they are not the only threat, as AS Roma is currently only six points behind the Bianconeri, with Atalanta also in close pursuit.

This makes every remaining match a must-win for Juventus, starting with the weekend fixture against Milan. ............

Massimo Pavan insists that Juventus must avoid playing with fire and ensure they win their remaining matches.

He said:

“We need a victory against Milan because Juve can’t play with fire.

“Roma are two victories away, Atalanta potentially at minus 7, their place in the Champions League is still far from certain.” ............

Preview: Juventus vs Milan – Team News, Lineups & Prediction

Juventus_Milan_Preview.jpg

Allianz Stadium sets the stage for a blockbuster Serie A showdown between eternal rivals Juventus and Milan. Saturday’s clash in Turin is a battle between the two sides keen to finish ‘best of the rest’ after Inter claimed the Scudetto earlier this week.

It’s been another disappointing season for Juventus, even though they’re on the verge of returning to the Champions League group stages after a season-long absence. Massimiliano Allegri’s men sit third in the table ahead of this round, boasting a comfortable ten-point lead on sixth-placed Atalanta. ............

Match Preview

Juventus

Juventus fans voiced their discontent with Allegri’s management again as Bianconeri shared the spoils with relegation-threatened Cagliari in a 2-2 draw last time out after giving up two first-half penalties. Another sub-below performance fuelled supporters’ rage, with the record-time Italian champions now winless in six of their seven most recent league outings (D3, L3).

Overcoming Lazio in midweek Coppa Italia action to reach the grand final offered some light at the end of the tunnel. However, Allegri has a more pressing matter to address before his troops take on Atalanta in the title-deciding fixture later this month.

Notoriously wasteful in the front third, Juventus have failed to score before halftime in 20 of their 33 league games this season. It’s their worst first-half tally since 2007/08, perhaps best explaining the club faithful’s unrest. But there’s a silver lining.

Juventus are unbeaten in their last five home games in Serie A (W3, D2) and have racked up three consecutive clean sheets in Turin in the build-up to this encounter.

Milan

In contrast to Juventus’ well-documented scoring woes, Milan have been lethal this season, with only Inter (79) bettering their decent-looking tally of 64 Serie A goals. Particularly proactive on the road, Pioli’s men have netted 2+ goals on their last three Serie A travels (W2, D1), contributing to an impressive ratio of 2.17 goals per away league match this season. ............

Team News

Nicolo Fagioli’s return from suspension for breaching betting rules is just around the corner, but he’s still unavailable. The same goes for Paul Pogba, while there’s hope for Moise Kean to make the matchday squad amidst a minor knee problem.

As for Milan, Pierre Kalulu and Tommaso Pobega are in the treatment room, while Simon Kjaer has to beat the clock to put himself at Pioli’s disposal. Fikayo Tomori accumulated yellow cards against Inter and will remain on the sidelines.

That’s not the end of Pioli’s troubles. Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez lost their tempers at an ill-tempered tail-end of the Derby della Madonnina, picking up straight reds, which makes them unavailable for selection.

Juventus vs Milan Potential Lineups

Juventus (3-5-2): Wojciech Szczesny; Federico Gatti, Gleison Bremer, Danilo; Andrea Cambiaso, Weston McKennie, Manuel Locatelli, Adrien Rabiot, Filip Kostic; Federico Chiesa, Dusan Vlahovic.

Milan (4-2-3-1): Mike Maignan; Yunus Musah, Malick Thiaw, Matteo Gabbia, Alessandro Florenzi; Yacine Adli, Tijjani Reijnders; Christian Pulisic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Rafael Leao; Olivier Giroud.

Juventus vs Milan Prediction

Malick Thiaw’s first-half expulsion helped Juventus grab a narrow 1-0 win in the reverse fixture. Another low-scoring contest could be on the cards, but we expect a depleted Milan to settle the account.

Prediction: Milan Win

Juventus vs. AC Milan match preview

Kijk Juventus - Milan Live Stream | DAZN BE

Most years, a late-season meeting at the end of April between Juventus and AC Milan would garner attention for good number of days before things actually kick off. Throw into the fact that both teams are sitting in the top three, then you have the makings of all the storylines that the Italian press oh so desires: it’s the big matchup between two of the biggest clubs in Serie A with plenty at stake.

... well, that’s the case most years.

This late-season matchup between Juve and Milan doesn’t have the same pop as previous years certainly had. The Scudetto has already been wrapped up. Milan’s grip on second place seems pretty safe mostly because the team directly behind them, Juventus, have been playing like a team that might get relegated over the last 12 games. ............

It’s all quite the setting for a Juventus team that has one win in their last six, two wins since the start of February and has seen nearly all of their 18-point advance over fifth place from three months ago almost completely disappear.

It’s not like Milan’s form in all competitions is all the more impressive. While they have four wins in their last six league fixtures, they enter their trip to Turin having lost three out of their last four between Serie A and the Europa League, with a pair of losses to Roma and another to Inter in the Scudetto-deciding fixture happening all within the last two weeks. ............

And while Allegri will have a nearly full-strength squad, Milan will head to Turin without three of their four starting defenders, with Theo Hernandez, Davide Calabria and Fikayo Tomori all suspended thanks to what all went down in the Derby della Madonnina back on Monday night at San Siro.

In theory, that should benefit Juventus as they go against a mostly second-string defense that Pioli will be forced to trot out. But, as we know, Juventus has had games where they create very little and can’t score the few chances they get, or they create plenty of chances and then their finishing in front of goal is what lets them down time and time again.

That is evident by the simple numbers of the last 12 games in which Allegri’s squad has had the form of a relegation battler, scoring just 12 goals over that span.

The only teams who have scored fewer times than that? Lecce, Udinese and Salernitana, who just sealed their ticket back to Serie B with Friday’s loss to fellow relegation candidate Frosinone. ............

Because, let’s be honest, it’s not like the first time these two teams met was all that glamorous. Juventus won, but even against a 10-man Milan team for nearly an hour it was far fro man impressive kind of showing. And now you factor in what has happened over the last three months? Oh boy. I’m feeling uneasy no matter how many Milan defenders are suspended and forced to watch at home back in Lombardi.

TEAM NEWS

  • Moise Kean is the only Juve player who is expected to miss the Milan game due to injury.
  • The other two players who will not take part are the two suspended midfielders, Nicolo Fagioli and Paul Pogba. Fagioli is officially less than a month away from being eligible to play in an official game again, with his suspension coming to an end on May 20.
  • At his pre-match press conference, Allegri said that Bremer was dealing with “a slight injury” against Cagliari and that he’s “better now,” but still has to decide Saturday morning about the Brazilian’s status.
  • Two Juve players are at risk of being suspended for the trip to Rome next weekend if they are shown a yellow against Milan: Timothy Weah and Andrea Cambiaso.

JUVENTUS PLAYER TO WATCH

Somebody in a black and white jersey will have the responsibility of trying to keep one of the most explosive players in Serie A, Rafael Leao, under wraps Saturday evening.

Based on the predicted lineups that are out there, it is likely going to be an American out wide on the right.

The thing is, we don’t know which U.S. international. So we’ll just go in a broad sense.

Some say it will be Weston McKennie starting out wide against Milan. Others think it will be Timothy Weah on the right as one of the two wingbacks in Allegri’s 3-5-2. Either way, the two USMNT fixtures will have a very large task no matter who is starting: trying to keep pace with Leao, who has three goals and two assists in his last six appearances in all competitions. ............

MATCH INFO

When: Saturday, April 27, 2024.

Where: Allianz Stadium, Turin, Italy.

Official kickoff time: 6 p.m. in Italy and the Central European time zone, 5 p.m. in the United Kingdom, 12 p.m. Eastern time, 9 a.m. Pacific time. ............

Milan suffer more injury woes ahead of their match against Juventus

Fiumi di lacrime rossonere: no della Lega A allo spostamento della partita del Milan - Atalantini.com

AC Milan will be without Luka Jovic for their game against Juventus later today.

The Bianconeri will face Milan in a match that is a direct clash between two rivals competing for second place in the league table.

Max Allegri’s men are eager to win more fixtures to close the gap between the two clubs, and this match presents them with a good opportunity to do so.

They have been handed a boost as Jovic is suffering from a muscle strain and will be unavailable for the game.

He joins Theo Hernandez, Davide Calabria, Fikayo Tomori, and likely Simon Kjaer on the list of Milan stars who will miss the game. ............

Sportiello saves Milan as Juventus drop two points at home again

Sportiello ferma la Juve, il Milan blinda il secondo posto - Giornale di Sicilia

Juventus dropped two more points after playing to a goalless draw against AC Milan this afternoon. The Bianconeri started the game on the front foot and won the first corner after just five minutes. However, they failed to convert either of the two corners in quick succession. Dusan Vlahovic soon tested Marco Sportiello with a shot, but the goalkeeper saved it, albeit uncomfortably.

It took almost 20 minutes into the game before Milan got close to troubling Juve’s defence. The skilful Rafael Leao beat his man, but the angle was tight, and he conceded a goal kick. Andrea Cambiaso had the next chance for Juve, but he shot wide as the Bianconeri looked for that elusive opener. In the 30th minute, Cambiaso set up Timothy Weah one-on-one with the goalie, but before he could shoot, a defender made a fantastic block out of nowhere. ............

Juve began the second half keen on getting the opener and forced Sportiello into a stunning double save. Kostic shot first, and the Milan keeper parried it towards Danilo’s path, who shot on the rebound, but the goalie saved again. After Christian Pulisic, Adrien Rabiot, and Tijjani Reijnders all tried to break the deadlock and failed, Max Allegri substituted Filip Kostic and Vlahovic for Federico Chiesa and Arkadiusz Milik. ............

Allegri brought on Weston McKennie for Weah with 19 minutes of normal time left. Two minutes later, Milik rose highest to head the ball towards goal, only for Sportiello to pull off another world-class save.

Despite their efforts, Juventus couldn’t score. The Bianconeri defended well, with Leao having another attempt to shoot blocked by Juve’s defence. Yildiz was the next Juventus player to leave the pitch, replaced by Fabio Miretti. The Turkish teenager was at the heart of some of Juventus’ best attacking moments in the game.

Sportiello made a mess of a simple ball, and Rabiot pounced on the rebound, but somehow Malick Thiaw made a goal-line block. That was as close as it got for Juventus. Milik then had the next chance to score, but the Pole headed off target as Juve became desperate for a goal. However, they never came close again, and Sportiello was the hero as Juve dropped points once more.

Juventus Player Ratings vs Milan: Bianconeri Thwarted by Sportiello

3956665-80347008-2560-1440.jpg

Juventus (3-5-2)

Wojciech Szczesny – 6

The former Arsenal man didn’t have a single save to make all match. ............

Federico Gatti – 6

 ............

Gleison Bremer – 6.5

The Brazilian stood his ground and prevailed in his duel against Giroud and Noah Okafor. A comfortable outing overall.

Danilo – 6.5

The Juventus captain looked confident and robust at the back, and even had some attacking forrays. However, he should have done better on the rebound with the goal at his mercy.

Timothy Weah – 6.5

This was perhaps one of the American’s most impressive performances since joining the club. Matched Leao’s pace as he managed to pull off perfectly-timed interceptions against his foe. He also posed a threat in the final third, but lacked a killer touch.

Andrea Cambiaso – 6

The versatile Italian acted as a box-to-box midfielder for Juventus. Worked hard in the middle of the park, but still needs to improve his shooting.

Manuel Locatelli – 6

 ............

Adrien Rabiot – 5.5

 ............

Filip Kostic – 6

An encouraging display from the Serbian winger who delivered decent crosses to the box while also keeping Christian Pulisic in check. Tested Sportiello with a good shot from a surprising angle.

Kenan Yildiz – 5.5

The Turkish teenager showcased flashes of genius, but they were too little too late. Lost the ball in promising positions on several occasions.

Dusan Vlahovic – 6

The former Fiorentina man started on the right foot and threatened to score early on. He made himself involved in almost every Juventus play, but eventually ran out of steam before leaving the pitch at the hour mark.

Substitutes

Federico Chiesa – 6.5

The Bianconeri became more dangerous following the Italian’s introduction, created a host of chances from the flanks, including a couple for Milik.

Arkadiusz Milik – 6

The Pole almost replicated his heroics from Tuesday, but was denied by Sportiello on one occasion, while another header whistled past the post.

Weston McKennie – 6

 ............

Fabio Miretti – N/A

Stunning stat: Juventus the worst attack in Serie A over the last six weeks

Juventus, nessuna conseguenza per Chiesa: Allegri ha compreso la 'frustrazione' | ilbianconero.com

A report in the Italian media revealed that Juventus have scored fewer goals than any other team in Serie A over the last month or so. ............

For instance, Juventus have failed to score in four of their last six Serie A fixtures. They only managed to net three goals during this run, two coming from set pieces (Federico Gatti’s corner vs Fiorentina and Dusan Vlahovic’s freekick vs Cagliari) plus an own goal (Alberto Dossena).

Astonishingly, the last time Juventus scored from open play dates back to the 1-1 draw against Atalanta on March 10th.

So statistically speaking, the Bianconeri currently boast the worst attack in Serie A over the past month and a half. Even the relegated Salernitana managed to outscore Juventus during this timespan.

These horrifying stats surely won’t go unnoticed when the Juventus management begins to plan for next season, starting with the technical staff.

Juventus 0 - AC Milan 0: Initial reaction and random observations

A proactive second-half showing couldn’t provide Juventus with the one thing that was eluding them all game long.

Juventus v AC Milan - Serie A TIM

For large stretches of Saturday night’s showdown with AC Milan, I feel like I was able to say something about Juventus that we haven’t said very much at all over the last three months (or maybe even longer than that): This team, this incredibly frustrating team, is doing a lot of things right.

No, don’t close the page just yet, dear reader. I actually mean it. I promise. I’m serious.

This was, I think, the best performance from Juventus — especially in the second half after Max Allegri made a couple of subs — that we’ve seen in weeks, if not longer than that.

There was just one thing missing, and something that is one of the biggest things that has haunted Juventus over this three-month run of brutal results.

The inability to finish in front of goal struck again for Juventus against Milan at the Allianz Stadium. Not even a second-half surge that was led by Federico Chiesa terrorizing the shorthanded Milan defense and a shift to a three-man attack was enough to see Juve get something past last-minute starter Marco Sportiello in goal. Try and try and try some more, but not one of Juve’s 13 shots they recorded in the second half found the back of the net, as the two rivals played out a scoreless draw that extended the Bianconeri’s run of draws in Serie A to three straight games. ............

The reason that makes it so frustrating and gives you the feeling that Juve dropped two points more than earned one point is that they were simply better on the whole than Milan. Not only did Juve outshoot Milan on the day and doubled them up in the process, the defense played about as well as it has in weeks — which meant that there was only one team that had actually recorded a shot on goal when the final whistle sounded. ............

They now have just two wins at home in the last three months. That just ... yeah, it’s not very good no matter how you try and spin it, and it’s something that surely has to be one of the biggest regrets amongst the many that this team will look back on once Matchday 38 comes and goes.

RANDOM THOUGHTS AND OBSERVATIONS

  • Personally, I like when Juventus actually score goals. Too bad they’ve forgotten how to do so over the last three months. I miss those first 3 12 weeks of January so much, man. ............
  • Sportiello made more saves WITH HIS FACE than Szczesny made all game. Take that in.
  • I don’t want Federico Chiesa to be some sort of super sub going forward, but he sure was pretty damn great as a super sub against Milan on Saturday. That boy was EVERYWHERE, and was very much the driving force of Juve’s push to take the lead after coming on. The only problem was that despite all of Chiesa’s contributions, Juve just couldn’t score.
  • I mean, in half an hour on the field, Chiesa had four key passes. That’s half the amount that Milan had as a team.
  • Sure would like Chiesa to play like that the rest of the season. And then into the Euros.
  • Also would like the three-man attack to become a regular thing because, you know, it actually allows Chiesa to play in a way that suits him perfectly. ............
  • Juventus had 13 shots in the second half and didn’t score a single goal. This damn team.
  • This was a mixed bag of a start for Kenan Yildiz. He did some positive things, but there were other moments where he was just off the mark a little bit. One of the best things to see is him getting both a start and then some serious minutes on top of that. That’s because Saturday night was his highest minutes total of the season. ............
  • Juventus has two more home games. They’re against an already relegated Salernitana and then the season finale against Monza. How many points do we think they’re getting in those? Because I’m sure some kind of B.S. is gonna happen since that’s what we’ve seen plenty of times the last three months.

Allegri defends substituting Vlahovic when Juventus needed a goal

Aveva ragione Allegri: Vlahovic via dalla Juventus

Juventus manager Max Allegri has defended his decision to substitute Dusan Vlahovic during their match against AC Milan when they needed a goal.

The Bianconeri played to a 0-0 draw against their rivals in the race for the second spot in the league, and Allegri started the game by pairing Vlahovic and Kenan Yildiz.

It was a surprise selection, but an even bigger surprise was when he subbed off Vlahovic for Arkadiusz Milik during the game. ............

Juve could not find a goal to win the game, and Allegri was questioned about that decision after the fixture.

He said:

“It was a normal substitution, Dusan had done well, but I needed fresh legs. Milan were getting deeper, so I threw on Milik, Chiesa and McKennie who is good on crosses. ............
