Sarri: ‘Giuntoli will sort Juventus out’

Calciomercato Lazio, Sarri chiede garanzie. E Giuntoli lo raggiungerebbe volentieri

Maurizio Sarri believes his old Napoli director of sport Cristiano Giuntoli is ‘the right man at the right time’ to rebuild Juventus. ‘Unfortunately for Lazio, I think he’ll sort them out.’

The coach has worked with Giuntoli before at Napoli and then separately won the Scudetto at Juve, so he knows both sides of the situation very well.

Giuntoli has not officially started work at Juventus, but terminated his contract with Napoli a year early to begin this new adventure in Turin.

“I think he is the right man at the right time for this historic period, as Juventus need to rebuild,” Sarri told Sportitalia.

“Giuntoli is a phenomenon in these situations and I think this is the right moment. Unfortunately for us at Lazio, I think he’ll sort them out.

“I don’t know how quickly he will get those issues resolved, but knowing him, I do believe he will succeed in their reconstruction.”

Giuntoli looking to offload six Juventus players who weigh 45M on the balance sheet

Giuntoli alla Juventus, è ufficiale: «Penso a papà che era un grande tifoso juventino»

Following his arrival at Juventus, Football Director Cristiano Giuntoli has a plethora of knots awaiting him.

While the fans expect him to bolster the squad with competent incomers, the former Napoli sporting director must first sell to make room for new signings.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Giuntoli is now looking to offload six Juventus players. This would allow the club to save up to 45 million euros on next season’s wage bill.

The first name on the list is club captain Leonardo Bonucci. The aging defender costs the club 12 million .....

Paul Pogba is almost in the same wave. He costs the club similar numbers but failed to keep himself fit for almost the entire 2022/23 campaign. ....

Then we have Alex Sandro, another aging veteran who earns 11 million euros as gross wages. .....

Denis Zakaria could still complete a switch to West Ham United for around 18 million euros.

For his part, Arthur Melo has interest from Wolverhampton and Aston Villa.

As for Weston McKennie, he might end up completing a loan switch to Borussia Dortmund, but Juventus insist on including an obligation to buy.

Hardworking Giuntoli saves Juventus money and reduces squad average age

Giuntoli's goal for Juventus is to make the club competitive and sustainable - Black & White & Read All Over

Cristiano Giuntoli was enlisted by Juventus with the mission of revitalising the club, elevating its strength beyond its previous state. Having previously excelled as the director of Napoli, Giuntoli arrived at Juventus enriched with a wealth of experience, after securing the Serie A title for the Napoli team.

While Juventus is already positioned among the elite clubs in the nation, Giuntoli’s arrival was anticipated to grant him access to greater financial resources compared to his tenure at Napoli. Nonetheless, the anticipated financial transformation has not materialised as envisaged. Instead, the director has adeptly guided the club in prudent financial management. ......

Evidencing his efficacy, Giuntoli has already overseen a shift in the team’s composition, reducing the average age from 27 to 25 years. This attests to his strategic influence in fostering a younger and potentially more dynamic squad. .....

Giuntoli insists Juventus has to get back in the Champions League

Giuntoli: I bring my experience to this great club - Juventus

Juventus’ sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, has laid out the club’s primary objective for the season, stressing the importance of securing a place in the top four of the Serie A standings. ............

However, Juventus has had an inconsistent start to the season, which has raised doubts about their ability to sustain a title challenge. In light of these circumstances, Giuntoli suggests that the club is prioritising a return to the UEFA Champions League by securing a top-four finish in Serie A before contemplating a potential title challenge. This strategic approach reflects the club’s recognition of the importance of regaining a place among Europe’s elite clubs.

Giuntoli said:

“We have the objective of returning to the Champions League, because it would allow the club to return to the position it deserves. Let’s go step by step.” ............

Giuntoli says Juventus does not want to win matches with luck

Giuntoli

Cristiano Giuntoli has emphasised that Juventus aims to win every game based on merit and does not seek victories through luck.

While the Bianconeri have experienced an inconsistent start to the season, their overall campaign has been positive. This marks a promising beginning to a new term, especially considering the turbulence they faced in the previous season. Under Max Allegri’s leadership, Juventus has rekindled the hopes of their fans for another league title. .............

‘Our goal is to win matches and there is no escape from there. To win many we must understand the mistakes: you can win with luck, but we don’t want to achieve success by just being lucky. The team is young compared to last season and is gaining intensity and aggression, as we can see. We are happy with what we have done, with the points collected so far and with how we obtained them. But we must be more aggressive, more intense and with a greater desire to amaze.”  .............

Giuntoli is closing in on his first signing as a Juventus director

Giuntoli's goal for Juventus is to make the club competitive and sustainable - Black & White & Read All Over

Cristiano Giuntoli is poised to make his first signing as Juventus’ sporting director.

He joined the Bianconeri in the summer following a successful tenure at Napoli.

During the summer, Juve did not make many signings, but Giuntoli played a role in offloading several players from their squad.

The only signing made by the Bianconeri was Timothy Weah, and Giuntoli was not in charge of that transfer, having arrived at the club when the deal was virtually complete.

Since then, he has been actively working on various transfers, and his first signing will be Tiago Djalo.

The Lille defender has been a key figure at the Ligue 1 club in recent seasons, although he has missed this term due to a serious injury and is nearing a return to full fitness. ............

Giuntoli rules out more Juve signings in January as Henderson heads to Ajax

If you were thinking Juventus would sign a midfielder in the next couple of weeks, that doesn’t look very likely.

US Salernitana v Juventus - Serie A TIM

It looks as though Cristiano Giuntoli’s first January transfer window with Juventus is going to be a relatively quiet one when it comes to immediately adding to the team that is giving league leaders Inter a run for their money.

Giuntoli, the head of Juventus’ sporting area, essentially ruled out any further additions to the Bianconeri’s roster prior to kickoff of Tuesday night’s win over Sassuolo at the Allianz Stadium. During his customary pre-game chat with Italian streaming channel DAZN, Giuntoli started that outside of Tiago Djaló’s impending arrival, Juve’s January transfer market is closed. This come amidst rumors over the weekend that Juventus had held talks over a potential loan move for former Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson, who was very interested in ending his journey in Saudi Arabia all of six months after it began. ............

“At this moment, we have decided to close the transfer market. We decided to put faith in these lads, who had an extraordinary run of results.

“We want to keep winning to break further away from fifth place, as that is our objective and that is what how we go forward.

“It has been a great first half to the season and 46 points after 19 rounds were unthinkable at the start. We have to credit the coach, the staff and the lads for this extraordinary work and we hope to keep it going.

“We are down to the details (with Tiago Djaló) and hope to seal it over the next few days. When he is a Juventus player, then I will talk about Djaló.” ............

Essentially, Giuntoli and Juve like where they’re at and it’s not like the money is really sitting around and available even if they wanted to make a notable move for a midfielder. This is the squad they entered the 2023-24 season with and this is the same one that they will finish it with.

Pundit compares Giuntoli to Moggi over his purchase of Alcaraz

Alcaraz colpo low-cost targato Giuntoli: cifre e dettagli del classe 2002 in arrivo alla Juve - Calcio | Tribuna.com

Juventus has completed the signing of Carlos Alcaraz, a move that took most fans by surprise. ............

Pundit Roberto Savino is impressed with how Juve made the surprise move and compared the operation by Cristiano Giuntoli to Luciano Moggi.

He said:

“The way in which Alcaraz was hired reminds me of Moggi. It is right to act in this way, to deflect rumours without flaunting the objectives. I imagine Juve believes in this boy, considering that for the loan until June he will pay around four million euros. In any case, the right to buy gives the possibility to evaluate in June whether to buy him permanently or send him back to Southampton.” ............

L'indiscrezione: "Il futuro di Allegri è legato all'arrivo di Giuntoli"

Juventus Football Director Cristiano Giuntoli shies away from all discussions related to the future of Max Allegri at the club.

Great speculations are currently surrounding the manager’s fate. While his contract will expire in 2025, it is widely believed that he will either sign a new deal or walk away at the end of the season. ............

“Allegri’s words? Nothing has changed, at the right moment we will talk about the future,” said Giuntoli in his pre-match interview ahead of Juve’s clash against Napoli.

“We are happy with his work, but we are also very focused on the present. At the right time, we will sit around a table to plan the future.” ............

Criscitiello insists: Giuntoli will start his Juventus revolution by appointing Thiago Motta

Ko contro il Napoli decisivo per Allegri: Giuntoli accelera per Thiago Motta, le ultime - Calcio | Tribuna.com

Italian journalist Michele Criscitiello expects Juventus to replace Max Allegri with Thiago Motta this summer.

The Italo-Brazilian manager is enjoying a sensational campaign with Bologna who currently sit fourth in the Serie A table while playing an attractive brand of football.

The 41-year-old’s contract will expire at the end of the season, and the Bianconeri have emerged as his main suitor.

Many observers believe that Juventus will put an end to Allegri’s second reign at the club, paving the way for a new project. .............

“Giuntoli agreed to work for his favorite club but he knew well that he had two bitter pills to swallow: A summer without a transfer market, like tourist in Milan, and a year with Allegri on the bench,” wrote Criscitiello.

“He’s been a caged lion and now he starts to roar. It will be a revolutionary market that will lead to many changes among the players and Thiago Motta will arrive on the bench, in the imagination of Giuntoli, who moved in advance to anticipate the competition from other big clubs.

“With Motta, there is an agreement on years and numbers but above all on an agreement on how to set up the team.

“Allegri will go towards a sabbatical or the termination of his contract.” .............

“The new Juventus will not be experimental, the fans are tired and will not accept the transition year because there will be yet another revolution.

“Motta will take on a great responsibility. Let’s wait a few weeks and we’ll know more. For the coach, the next Champions League qualification with Bologna must first be achieved.”

Elkann supports Giuntoli’s choice: Juventus intensify contact with Thiago Motta

Thiago Motta's post-match comments | BolognaFC

Juventus Football Director Cristiano Giuntoli reportedly has the green light to pursue the services of Thiago Motta.

With every miserable outing, it is becoming evidently clear that Max Allegri has no future at Continassa.

The Livorno native has been unable to steer the team back to winning ways in recent months, as the Bianconeri continue to bleed points while falling further in the Serie A standings. .............

Juventus majority owner John Elkann is becoming increasingly convinced by Giuntoli’s plan to replace Allegri with the Italo-Brazilian coach.

The Juventus Football Director has intensified contacts with Motta’s entourage in recent weeks, as he looks to secure the services of one of the most sought-after young tacticians in Europe. .............

Juventus sporting director Giovanni Manna set to join Napoli

eofjqvcxa39u4tzzbj80.jpg

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano delivers breaking news on Juventus sporting director Giovanni Manna, linking him with a move to Napoli.

The 35-year-old joined the club as an academy manager back in 2019 before taking over the Juventus Next Gen project the following year.

When Federico Cherubini received a sporting ban last January, Manna earned a sudden promotion, becoming the first team’s sporting director.

Despite the arrival of Cristiano Guintoli in the summer, the 35-year-old maintained his post, acting as the right-hand man of the club’s new Football Director.

But while Giuntoli made the switch from Napoli to Juventus last summer, Manna could be set to move in the opposite direction. .............

Massimo Mauro discusses the difficult job Cristiano Giuntoli must do at Juventus

Giuntoli: 'Juventus on track, will sit down with Allegri'

With Juventus poised to embark on a rebuild at the conclusion of this season, Cristiano Giuntoli’s role at the club has undoubtedly become more challenging. .............

Having endured a prolonged period of stagnation, Juventus evidently lacks the necessary ingredients to reclaim its position at the summit of Italian football.

Giuntoli faces the daunting task of constructing a new foundation, potentially from the ground up. Pundit Massimo Mauro has shed light on the magnitude of this endeavor, underscoring the significant challenges that lie ahead for Giuntoli in reshaping Juventus.

He said:

“Giuntoli must do a great job, I would almost say he must transform the team. If I think about the work done in Naples, he managed to give Spalletti who then made him play the team did wonderfully well, they managed to win the Scudetto. At Juventus, this seems a little more complicated because Juventus competes with the teams that win in Europe and talking about Next Gen and attention to the budget seems incompatible with a Juventus that can compete in the Champions League and win the Scudetto next year or Giuntoli will perform miracles.” .............

Gli chiedono di Giuntoli: Allegri allo scoperto in conferenza sul ds del Napoli

Cristiano Giuntoli is the man who will decide Max Allegri’s future at the end of this season, and he continues to express his vote of confidence in the manager.

Allegri’s team is struggling, and most of the club’s supporters expect this to be his last season in charge.

The men in black and white have not shown improvement since Allegri returned to the club, and this season has been disappointing. ............

This is why fans are calling for a change in leadership and want Max Allegri to be replaced.

However, the gaffer has continued to get the public backing of Giuntoli, who said before Juve’s match against Cagliari:

“This is very simple: we are very happy with the coach, he is doing an excellent job. At the end of the year, with all the cards on the table, we will plan the future together. Behind the scenes? At the moment he has a contract and there is no need, we want to put all the energies that are defined”. ............
