Ten man Juventus suffer last minute equaliser at Lazio

Lazio 1-1 Juventus: Matias Vecino's Last-Gasp Equalizer Keeps UCL Hopes Alive

Lazio and Juventus played out a tense 1-1 draw this evening, with Matias Vecino scoring a late equaliser to deny the Bianconeri a crucial victory in the race for Champions League qualification. ............

This match was always expected to be decisive, with both sides aiming to assert dominance over a direct rival. With AS Roma breathing down their necks in the standings, neither Juventus nor Lazio could afford to drop points. The intensity of the occasion was clear from the outset, with Juve determined to start quickly and seize control. ............

The Bianconeri had to endure significant pressure in the opening stages and were made to pay with two yellow cards. Both Nicolo Savona and Khephren Thuram will now miss their next match due to suspension.

Despite Lazio’s attacking threat, Juventus worked hard to stay compact and frustrate their opponents. As the first half wore on, both sides struggled to find a breakthrough, heading into the interval with the score still goalless. ............

After the break, Juventus showed renewed energy, and their efforts were rewarded when Randal Kolo Muani found the net to put his side ahead. The goal was a deserved reward for Juve’s persistence and handed a vital boost to their hopes of securing a top-four finish.

However, the match took a negative turn for the visitors when Pierre Kalulu received a red card, reducing them to ten men. ............

Their resistance was eventually broken when Matias Vecino struck late for the home side, salvaging a point for Lazio. The result leaves both clubs frustrated, knowing that they missed a key opportunity to pull ahead in the race for Champions League qualification. ............

Lazio 1-1 Juventus player ratings

Lazio: Mandas 6; Marusic 5 (65′ Lazzari 6.5), Gila 6.5, Romagnoli 6.5, Pellegrini 6.5; Guendouzi 6.5, Rovella 5.5 (65′ Vecino 7); Isaksen 5 (53′ Pedro 6.5), Dele-Bashiru 5 (53′ Dia 5.5), Zaccagni 6; Castellanos 7. Coach: Baroni 6.5.

Best Lazio Player: Castellanos 7 ............

Lowest Lazio rating: Dele-Bashiru 5 ............

Lazio coach: Baroni 6.5 ............

Juventus: Di Gregorio 7; Kalulu 4, Veiga 6, Savona 5; Alberto Costa 6.5 (79′ Douglas Luiz N/A), McKennie 7, Locatelli 6.5, Thuram 6.5, Weah 5; Nico Gonzalez 5 (46′ Conceiçao 5.5 (86′ Gatti)), Kolo Muani 7 (76′ Adzic 86′ Vlahovic). Coach: Tudor 5.5.

Best Juventus player: McKennie 7 – A complete performance from the American, who played as a central midfielder and as a winger and from that position he produced a perfect assist for Kolo Muani (same rating for the Frenchman). Special mention to Di Gregorio, who made two big saves in the dying minutes. Vecino scored from the rebound from one of those.

Lowest Juventus rating: Kalulu 4 – Another red card for violent conduct. The second one in three games for Juventus. Totally unnecessary. Juventus paid a high price for it.

Juventus coach: Tudor 5.5 – Confused in some decisions, especially when he introduced Adzic only to leave him on the pitch for 10 minutes. Opposite to Baroni, he was not helped by Kalulu’s madness.

epa12089277 Juventus' head coach Igor Tudor reacts during the Italian Serie A soccer match between SS Lazio and Juventus FC at the Olimpico stadium in Rome, Italy, 10 May 2025. EPA-EFE/RICCARDO ANTIMIANI

Igor Tudor reveals why he ‘apologised’ to two Juventus players after the dramatic 1-1 draw with Lazio and accepts the Pierre Kalulu red card. ‘It was an odd choice I admit, but I would do it again.’ ............

The Bianconeri had taken the lead with a Randal Kolo Muani header, only for Pierre Kalulu to see red nine minutes later for a pointless lashing out at Taty Castellanos that was spotted by VAR.

His team held on down to 10 men for over 30 minutes, surviving a penalty scare that was disallowed due to offside, but at the 96th minute Matias Vecino turned in the equaliser for Lazio. ............

“It was a great game, I am sorry that we dropped two points right at the end, but we keep going. There are two matches to play, the lads gave their all in the circumstances with players missing, so I congratulated them in the dressing room and we go forward with confidence,” Tudor said. ............

“It’s disappointing, as it’s two games now we have been reduced to 10 men for long periods, which at this stage of the season is incredible. I don’t know how much contact he actually made, but it was a naïve thing to do. You shouldn’t do that, Kalulu is a good guy, we accept this red card.

“He was disappointed, but surprised too, he’s a good guy who cares so much. We’ll see what happens, we hope it’ll be just a one-match ban.” ............

“Gatti was coming off a fracture, he never trained with the rest of the team, he was still limping and we brought him along thinking if we really needed it, he could play five minutes.

“I took off the two lads who came on, I immediately apologised to them in the dressing room. It rarely happens and I didn’t like doing it, but I had to because we needed experience and height in those final minutes to help the team. It was an odd choice I admit, but I would do it again.” ............

“These are moments that change a lot in a season. I couldn’t comment, having come towards the end without knowing how the fitness training was done. It is a squad with quality, I think with two or three new players it could be a team of a very high level, but it’s already high now,” concluded the coach. ............

Lazio 1 - Juventus 1: Initial reaction and random observations

SS Lazio v Juventus - Serie A

As I sit here in the minutes following Juventus’ 1-1 draw with Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico, I really don’t know where to begin. I don’t tend to make these post-game threads all about me and use the first person all that often, but I feel like the general feeling of both frustration and general confusion is one shared by plenty of folks. ............

Many are wondering what exactly Pierre Kalulu did to get sent off less than 10 minutes after Randal Kolo Muani scored to put Juventus in front Saturday night. Like, has anybody seen a decent replay of it? Because I haven’t. Show me a decent replay! I beg you — show me one and then I’ll be able to actually have a genuine opinion rather than relying on extremely blurry photos and thinking that Kalulu was just as naive as Kenan Yildiz was a couple of weeks ago when he was shown a red for violent conduct. (And maybe Kalulu was just that no matter what, but because we haven’t seen a quality replay, I don’t know what to think!) ............

And Juve were up to their late tricks again, with Matias Vecino putting away the rebound off a great initial save from Michele Di Gregorio to level the score at 1-all with one minute of stoppage time remaining and send Juve to yet another draw and one that is a serious hinderance to their Champions League qualification hopes.

Depending on what happens Monday night, Juve could either somehow end Matchday 36 still in fourth place or see Roma jump into the final Champions League spot if they claim a win over Atalanta in Bergamo. (Which, considering how Claudio Ranieri keeps grinding out wins no matter who Roma play, who is to say he can’t at this point?).

So this is the situation that we were hoping Juventus could avoid. The one where they need help from others to ensure that they’re in fourth place. Instead of controlling their own destiny, they are now needing Atalanta to get some sort of result against Roma so that they can go into the final two weeks of the 2024-25 season still in fourth place. ............

Yet after the opening 60 minutes in which Di Gregorio really had virtually nothing to do, it all turned on a red card most of us are still questioning and meant Igor Tudor suddenly had to set up shop and hope Juve could hold on.

For much of the time before Vecino’s equalizer, it was looking like they could actually do it. Of course, that involved a decent amount of luck, with a VAR call actually going Juve’s way rather than a penalty call against Di Gregorio being upheld because of an offside call just a split second before. But Juve were, for the most part, holding their own as Lazio sent in cross after cross after cross.

But then the dam broke, and with it a serious hit to Juve’s Champions League chances. ............

Maybe it’s just a microcosm of Juventus’ season as a whole. Considering they are back to having as many draws (16) as wins, it feels somewhat appropriate. This level of frustration has certainly been present plenty of times before this day, too. Same goes for the level of poor officiating from a country previously known for having some of the best in the business. ............

RANDOM THOUGHTS AND OBSERVATIONS

  • This man Davide Massa based Kalulu getting sent off on one replay angle? ONE? Game’s gone, folks. This is the level of Serie A refereeing. They are about as frustrating to deal with as we’ve ever seen — and they’re not getting any better. That’s worrying as all hell.
  • That being said, regardless of how you feel about Kalulu getting sent off, you gotta admit that he can’t put himself in that kind of situation, right? When Kalulu was sent off, Lazio had twice as many fouls as Juventus yet the Bianconeri were shown three yellows — including two players who will now be suspended for next week’s game against Udinese — compared to none for the home side. Massa was already showing that he wasn’t up for it, so basically putting your fate in his hands just felt like such a wrong
  • All that said, give Taty Castellanos an Oscar. That was some serious acting to sell all that. ............
  • Seriously, though ... I have no idea how Di Gregorio got a hand onto the shot that he redirected onto the post. It ended up being a save that kept Juventus from potentially losing, and that save right before the goal was in that late as well. It’s just unfortunate that two great reflection saves from close range within a couple of minutes left him absolutely gutted more than anything.
  • I also have no idea how Federico Gatti was even able to play a few minutes despite having not trained with the group at all, clearly limping and just having come back from a broken bone in his heel. ............
  • No Khephren Thuram against Udinese next weekend. Not great.
  • No Kalulu against Udinese next weekend, too. Not great.
  • No Nicolo Savona against Udinese next weekend as well. No matter how feel about how he’s played the last two weeks, that’s not great, either. ............
  • Letting Vecino get goal side of him for the goal was not Veiga’s greatest moment of the day. Maybe even worse than that free kick.
  • We got a Weston McKennie assist and Juventus trying to hold onto a 1-0 lead with lots of defending. It’s like the 2023-24 season all over again, my friends.
  • Alberto Costa, in his first Juve start, nearly scored for the second straight week. If only ............
  • Still wondering if Juventus will ever score on a corner kick again this season. It’s such a waste these days.
  • Time to turn into somebody who supports Atalanta for the next 24 hours or so. It’s come to this. Come on, Gasp, let’s make some good things happen. ............

Juventus has missed a very good opportunity against Lazio

Serie A: Lazio-Juventus 1-1 DIRETTA e FOTO - Calcio - Ansa.it

Juventus dropped two crucial points in the race for a top-four finish in Serie A after conceding a late equaliser against Lazio in a match that was expected to define the fortunes of both sides in the run-in. ............

With several clubs vying for the coveted fourth spot in the league, every point is vital at this stage of the season. ............

The Bianconeri, however, saw their advantage slip away in the final moments, as Lazio scored a dramatic late goal. This came after Juventus were reduced to ten men due to a red card, leaving them vulnerable during the closing stages of the match. The result not only denied them the victory but also potentially handed AS Roma a significant advantage in the top-four race.

If Roma win their next fixture on Monday, they will move above Juventus in the standings, making the dropped points even more painful for Igor Tudor’s men. ............

Commenting on the outcome, football journalist Paolo Condò expressed disappointment with Juventus’s inability to see the game through. He highlighted critical errors in judgment by individual players, particularly Pierre Kalulu, whose red card played a key role in shifting the momentum of the match. Condò said:

“I am negatively surprised by Kalulu’s naivety which comes shortly after Yildiz’s, inexplicable at this level. I believe that Juventus tonight effectively missed a golden opportunity and left Roma two fundamental points for the race for fourth place.” ............

Referee analyst gives his view on Kalulu red and fears the consequences

Pierre Kalulu after being shown red card v Lazio

Pierre Kalulu was sent off during Juventus’ match against Lazio this evening, and the consequences of his dismissal could prove costly for the Bianconeri as they fight to secure a Champions League place. ............

Although there is an argument that Kalulu was unlucky, the act for which he was dismissed was unnecessary. The referee did not spot the offence in real-time, but VAR provided a clearer angle that led to the sending off. Juventus are now facing the possibility of losing Kalulu for the remaining games of the campaign.

With Nicolo Savona already banned from the next match due to yellow card accumulation, Juve could be without two important players as they aim to finish the season strongly. ............

Luca Marelli, a respected referee analyst, explained the situation clearly and highlighted the serious nature of the offence. He stated:

“It’s a gesture that has nothing to do with the game, at first I said that there would be no intervention by the VAR because the violence was not perceived. The shot that clarifies everything, from above, is completely different from the first replays, and you can clearly see that Kalulu hits the opponent with a slap in the neck, who is now far away. One detail: let’s remember that Yildiz was suspended for two games for violent conduct, this foul could cost Kalulu the end of the championship”. ............

Tudor blasts ‘naive’ Kalulu, explains controversial double-sub: “It was odd I admit”

Juventus, ancora guai per Tudor: chi è in forse per lo "spareggio Champions" con la Lazio | sport.it

Juventus manager Igor Tudor had many topics to tackle after the dramatic 1-1 draw against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Bianconeri were only two minutes away from escaping with three invaluable points in the race for fourth place, thanks to Randal Kolo Muani’s opener at the start of the second period. However, Matias Vecino equalised the scoring in the 96th minute to keep the two sides level on points.

The turning point of the match was Pierre Kalulu’s red card. The Juventus defender was expelled following a VAR review for violent conduct. He was spotted hitting Taty Castellanos in the face. ............

“It was a great game, I am sorry that we dropped two points right at the end, but we keep going. There are two matches to play, the lads gave their all in the circumstances with players missing, so I congratulated them in the dressing room and we go forward with confidence,” said Tudor in his post-match interview.

“I took off the two lads who came on (Conceicao and Adzic), I immediately apologised to them in the dressing room. Fabio Capello believes that Juventus were on course for victory against Lazio on Saturday up until a ‘stupid’ red card from centre-back Pierre Kalulu, which has cost Bianconeri control of the race for a Champions League spot and leaves them needing a favour from ‘St. Gasperini’. ............

As things stand on Sunday morning, Juventus are still in fourth, level on points with Lazio in fifth (both on 64), while Roma (63 points) are due to play against third-placed Atalanta on Monday. ............

Capello feels that Juve’s performance against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico was ‘ruined’ by Kalulu’s red card, which he feels would not have even been sent for a VAR check in the Premier League.

“The game was ruined by Kalulu’s sending off. Juventus started looking determined, they created dangerous situations for Lazio,” Capello said.

“The Bianconeri paid for Kalulu’s stupid gesture. But these days the players throw themselves on the ground and hope for VAR, which, unfortunately, often rewards them. In England, they wouldn’t have even taken this incident under consideration.

“The Frenchman’s red card changed the game and in the end, Lazio’s siege was rewarded with Vecino’s equaliser in the 96th minute.”

Capello was also asked which team he thinks benefited most from the 1-1 draw between Lazio and Juventus on Saturday, to which he replied: “Those who are chasing, like Roma. Now Juventus no longer have the ball in their court. They must hope for Atalanta and St. Gasperini against the Giallorossi.”

How Juventus could line up vs Udinese without suspended trio

Igor Tudor

Igor Tudor have major selection headaches to resolve ahead of next Sunday’s clash against Udinese at the Allianz Stadium.

The Bianconeri are currently embroiled in an epic race for the fourth Champions League which also involves Roma, Lazio, Bologna, Fiorentina and possibly Milan. ............

Juve’s Roman trip yielded more problems than headaches, as three players earned suspensions for next week’s contest.

Pierre Kalulu foolishly got himself sent off for hitting Taty Castellanos in the face, so the Frenchman’s campaign might be over already.

Moreover, Khephren Thuram and Nicolo Savona picked up their fifth bookings of the season, so they’ll be serving one-match bans. ............

So how will Tudor cope with this emergency situation?

Manuel Locatelli will play as a stopgap defender alongside Federico Gatti and Renato Veiga.

With the Juventus captain dropping into a deeper role, Douglas Luiz should get a rare chance to start in the middle of the park alongside Weston McKennie. ............

Kenan Yildiz returns from a two-match ban to start as an attacking midfielder, likely alongside Nico Gonzalez, while Randal Kolo Muani should keep his place in attack.

Juventus (3-4-2-1): Di Gregorio; Gatti, Locatelli, Renato Veiga; Alberto Costa, McKennie, Douglas Luiz, Weah; Yildiz, Nico Gonzalez; Kolo Muani.

Good news for Juventus as Udinese lose two key players for next weekend’s match

Lorenzo Lucca on the pitch for Udinese

Udinese have lost the services of two important players ahead of next Sunday’s clash against Juventus at the Allianz Stadium.

While the Zebrette have little to play for at this stage since they currently reside in the middle of the table, this will be a must-win match for the Turin-based giants if they hope to maintain their chances of clinching the all-important fourth place in the league.

Juventus must beat Udinese and Venezia, and hope that Roma drop points in their final three contests, beginning with Monday’s clash against Atalanta. ............

Udinese have also lost a couple of important players, as Lorenzo Lucca and Arthur Atta have both picked up their fifth booking of the season. ............

The 24-year-old showcased his clinical touch once more on Sunday, but scoring the Friulians’ solitary strike against Monza after come off the bench. ............

Lucca’s cameo also saw him collect his fifth yellow card of the season, so he’ll have to sit out the next contest against Juventus.

The same goes for Atta who has now established himself as a regular starter as a regular starter in Kosta Ronjaic’s lineup in recent weeks. ............

Udinese will also be without the injured Florian Thauvin and Souleymane Toure.

Juventus Next Gen teenager will join the first team amidst injury crisis

Javier Gil - Player profile 24/25 | Transfermarkt

Juventus coach Igor Tudor will reportedly resort to the Next Gen ranks to address the deficiency at the back, calling up Javier Gil Puche.

The Bianconeri still have two matches remaining before the end of the Serie A season, and they will be keen to prevail on both occasions to maximise their chances of securing the all-important fourth place.

But unfortunately for Tudor, he will have to negotiate next Sunday’s meeting with Udinese with a depleted squad. ............

Teun Koopmeiners could regain his fitness in time, while Kenan Yildiz is back after serving a two-match ban, but Khephren Thuram, Nicolo Savona and Pierre Kalulu have all been ruled out through suspension.

So the Juventus manager will turn to the Next Gen to add some depth to his squad. He’s expected to call up Gil Puche has who has emerged as one of the most exciting teenagers at Vinovo. ............

Gil made 28 appearances for the club across all competitions this season, contributing with a single assist.

However, this wouldn’t be the centre-back’s first senior call-up, as Thiago Motta had added him to his squad for the two Serie A contests against Parma and Udinese between October and November last year, but he has yet to make an appearance for the first team.

Teun Koopmeiners expected to recover for Udinese clash

Teun Koopmeiners celebrating goal against Bologna

Juventus midfielder Teun Koopmeiners is tipped to pull off a comeback against Udinese, while two of his teammates will be pushing for swift recoveries.

The 27-year-old has been out of action since picking up an Achilles tendon injury during the win over Lecce last month. ............

Koopmeiners had been expected to return earlier, but wasn’t able to shake off this injury.

Nevertheless, after one month on the sidelines, he’ll rejoin Igor Tudor’s squad for the club’s contest against Udinese in the penultimate round of the season.

This will be a crucial fixture for the Bianconeri who must win their two remaining Serie A fixtures in order to prevail in the thrilling race for fourth place. ............

The Netherlands international has often been deployed as an attacking midfielder, but Tudor might field him in a deeper role, especially with Khephren Thuram serving a one-match ban, and Manuel Locatelli potentially filling in as an emergency centre-back. ............

How Juventus can secure a Champions League spot before the final game

champions league

Juventus remain in fourth place on the Serie A table despite recording two consecutive draws in their most recent matches. The Bianconeri continue to face difficulties in securing victories, and the race for the final Champions League qualification spot is becoming increasingly competitive.

Several clubs are contending for fourth place, yet Juventus have so far retained their position largely due to the inconsistency of their direct rivals. ............

With two matches remaining, Juventus are level on points with Lazio and hold a one-point advantage over AS Roma. They lead Lazio on goal difference, which could prove decisive should teams finish the campaign with identical point totals. Like their immediate competitors, Juventus have two opportunities left to secure their place in next season’s Champions League.

Their next fixture is against Udinese at home, a match that offers a promising opportunity for three points. If Juventus win that match and the following results occur,  Lazio loses to Inter Milan, AS Roma loses to AC Milan, and Bologna fails to win away at Fiorentina, Juventus would secure fourth place before the final day of the season. ............

Such a scenario would make the final match of the campaign, against Venezia, effectively a formality. The team’s destiny remains in their own hands, and victories in their remaining two matches would guarantee their return to Europe’s elite competition. ............

OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL: Jeep, Visit Detroit are Juventus’ new shirt sponsors

Jeep & Visit Detroit Closer to Juventus Shirt Sponsorship Deal - Footy Headlines

After a year of having no official front-of-shirt sponsor, Juventus are going back to an old friend. At the same time, they are also welcoming in a new one, with the front of Juve’s jersey set to be a little more crowded for the next few years.

Juventus announced Tuesday that they have agreed to a dual front-of-shirt sponsorship deal with Jeep — who served in the same role for over a decade up until last spring — and Visit Detroit, the convention and visitors bureau for the Motor City and surrounding area. The deal with Jeep and Visit Detroit will run through 2028 and has a total value of €69 million, according to a press release from Juventus. The deal includes Juve wearing both logos on the front of the jersey for domestic competition (Serie A and Coppa Italia), with only Jeep set to be worn in European competition (and other international tournaments like the Club World Cup) as a result of UEFA rules permitting just one main sponsor on the front of a club’s jersey.

The announcement of the deal with Jeep and Visit Detroit comes a day before Juventus will unveil their home kit for the 2025-26 season, one they will debut this Sunday when they play Udinese at the Allianz Stadium. ............

The total of €69 million for the deal is less than the last reports we heard in mid-April when Reuters said Juventus’ agreement with Jeep and Visit Detroit would be worth €25 million a season. We first heard that Jeep could be making a comeback to the front of Juventus’ jerseys at the beginning of April, with the Visit Detroit component also coming to light at the same time.

Jeep was previously Juventus front-of-shirt sponsor from 2012 until the end of the 2023-24 season. ............

OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL: Pierre Kalulu gets two-match ban for red card vs. Lazio

Lazio-Juventus, l'audio del Var sul rosso a Kalulu: cosa è stato detto all'arbitro

We have not seen the last of Pierre Kalulu in a Juventus shirt since we all expect him to be made a permanent part of the roster in a matter of weeks. But when it comes to the on-loan Frenchman’s participation in the 2024-25 season, it will now all be referred to in the past tense.

And at a time in which Juve can’t afford to be losing any more players, too.

But this is the result of Kalulu getting show a straight red card for his violent conduct in the second half of Juventus’ 1-1 draw with Lazio this past weekend at the Stadio Olimpico. Just as was the case with Kenan Yildiz when he was sent off against Monza 2 12 weeks ago, Kalulu was handed a two-match ban, and with the timing of which it has come down it means that one of the few healthy center backs that Juventus actually have on the roster will miss the season’s final two games against Udinese and relegation-threatened Venezia.

Kalulu will not be the only Juventus player suspended for the Bianconeri’s final home fixture of the campaign, with Khephren Thuram and Nicolo Savona also serving one-match bans for yellow card accumulation. ............

Juve interim manager Igor Tudor will likely have to get creative when it comes to his starting lineup against Udinese this coming Sunday. It could very well mean somebody like Locatelli has to play in the center of Tudor’s three-man backline along with Gatti and Renato Veiga, the only two central defenders who are likely to be available this weekend.

Former Juve player explains why he is scared for Juventus

Juventus v Monza line up

Juventus are currently in the top four of Serie A and have a strong opportunity to secure Champions League qualification. However, their inconsistent performances throughout the season have left many of their supporters uncertain about the team’s ability to finish the campaign strongly. ............

With two games remaining, Juventus must face Udinese and Venezia. On paper, these are opponents that the club should be capable of defeating comfortably. However, the team’s recent form offers little assurance. Supporters are rightly concerned about whether the players can deliver under pressure when it matters most.

There is an air of tension around the club, as fans and analysts alike recognise that Juventus have shown little in the way of a reliable pattern. ............

Former Juventus midfielder Beniamino Vignola has voiced his concerns over the current situation. Reflecting on the team’s prospects, he stated:

“To be honest, I’m very scared, as I think many are. We’ve reached the final rush and there’s no more room for error, Juve has made a lot of them this year. Qualifying for the most prestigious cup has a vital value from an economic/financial point of view. The project was born under the banner of young people, with the aim of settling the accounts. Of course, the results count, they haven’t been brilliant.” ............

Juventus unveil 2025-26 home jersey with new sponsors and splash of pink

Screenshot_2025_05_14_at_1.24.42_AM.0.png

Just a few short hours after Juventus unveiled their new (yet kinda familiar) front-of-shirt sponsorship deal, it was time to give us a glimpse at what next season will look like even though the 2024-25 campaign is still a couple of games away from reaching its conclusion. ............

Juventus unveiled their home kit for the 2025-26 season on Wednesday, with Adidas returning to the kind of design and that strays away from so many of the class Juve kits that are favorites amongst everybody. Instead of another clean look like we have seen this season, Juve have opted for an unbalanced kind of look down the middle of the kit. ............

And on top of it all? That very noticeable splash of pink comes with the J logo and the adidas crest, and the new sponsorships that sees Jeep to the front of return a season after they ended their agreement with Juventus and Visit Detroit’s big arrival to the front of the biggest name in Italian football.

Juventus will debut their new kit this weekend in their home finale against Udinese on Sunday night at the Allianz Stadium. ............

The reasoning for the out-of-the-box look for the 2025-26 season? Here’s what Juventus’ announcement about the new home kit had to say:

The new home kit encapsulates the essence of Bianconeri’s identity, paying homage to the rich history and youthful spirit that defines the team. Every day, ‘We Are Youth. Since 1897’ is the philosophy that defines an ever-evolving identity, guided by the same intensity and purpose that have driven us forward since the beginning. This spirit is present in full force in the new 2025/26 home kit, which sees the classic black and white structured lines re-interpreted in a bold new design, with different levels of thickness as a nod to an aesthetic seen across Italian fashion. ............

Juventus trio set for last match at Allianz Stadium – Will they play in Club World Cup?

Randal Kolo Muani scores against Lazio

On Sunday, three Juventus players are expected to play their last home fixture for the club before their loan spells expire.

The trio in question is Randal Kolo Muani, Francisco Conceicao and Renato Veiga.

Naturally, these aren’t the only three players who could depart at the end of the season, as the likes of Dusan Vlahovic and Andrea Cambiaso have also been heavily linked with the exit door. ............

Conceicao left Porto to join the Serie A giants in August, while Kolo Muani and Veiga sealed moves from PSG and Chelsea in January.

It should be noted that some reports suggested that all three players could stay beyond the current campaign. ............

All three players are now expected to leave the club at the end of the season, so this weekend’s clash against Udinese should mark their last appearance at Allianz Stadium, at least as Juventus stars.

Nevertheless, the management remains hopeful of finding a temporary solution to keep them until the end of the club’s Club World Cup campaign. ............

Boost for Juventus as a defender returns to group training

142404484-bf809ebb-4cce-41a8-9712-fd22e1055b58.jpg

Juventus centre-back Lloyd Kelly has trained alongside his teammates at Continassa on Thursday morning. ............

Kelly missed the last two crucial contests against Bologna and Lazio due to a muscle injury in the hamstring. Both contests ended in a 1-1 draw. ............

The 26-year-old is making comprehensive progress on the training ground, and even joined his teammates in group training, albeit partially.

Hence, this could pave the way for a call-up at the weekend. The Bianconeri will play their last home fixture of the campaign on Sunday when they host Udinese, before travelling to Venezia on the final day of the Serie A season.

Igor Tudor’s men must secure victories in their final two contests in order to maintain their fourth place in the Serie A table and consequently book a place in the Champions League, as Lazio, Roma, Milan and Bologna are all breathing down their neck. ............

Juventus will be without Pierre Kalulu who has been slapped with a two-match ban due to his violent conduct against Lazio, while Gleison Bremer remains out of action.

The source also revealed that Federico Gatti, Andrea Cambiaso and Teun Koopmeiners have been training separately, so it remains to be seen if they will recover in time to earn call-ups against Udinese.

Preview: Juventus vs. Udinese - prediction, team news, lineups

Serie A LIVE: Juventus vs. Udinese - Football Italia

Still clinging on to a precious top-four place, Juventus play their final home game of the Serie A season when they welcome Udinese to Turin on Sunday.

In a battle of the Bianconeri, Juve need points to aid their Champions League quest, while the visitors are already bound for a mid-table finish.

Match preview

With two rounds remaining, there are still a quartet of teams within two points of fourth place in Serie A, and Juventus head the pack as an incredibly tight race reaches its final bend.

As things stand, Juve occupy fourth spot on 64 points, level with Lazio, while Roma are sixth on 63 and Coppa Italia winners Bologna sit seventh on 62.

The fallen giants could have been carrying a three-point advantage into the penultimate matchday, but Pierre Kalulu's red card proved costly against direct rivals Lazio last week. Randal Kolo Muani's goal had put the Bianconeri on track for a 1-0 win at Stadio Olimpico, but his French compatriot was later sent off, before the home side netted a dramatic stoppage-time leveller.

That brought more frustration for Juve's fans, as a tally of 16 league draws this season is just one short of their all-time record, set back in 1955-56.

Nonetheless, they have won seven of their last eight Serie A home games - after drawing seven of the previous nine - and interim head coach Igor Tudor boasts a flawless record in Turin.

Only two Juventus managers have won all of their first four home fixtures over the last 50 years - Max Allegri in 2014 and Maurizio Sarri in 2019 - but Tudor can join that select club on Sunday.

Juve have won 12 of their last 15 league games against Udinese, scoring an average of 2.3 goals in the process, so history suggests Tudor's team can take one step closer to the Champions League. ............

Team News

Juventus are faced by a defensive dilemma, as English centre-back Lloyd Kelly recently joined ACL victims Bremer and Juan Cabal on the sidelines, while Andrea Cambiaso is sidelined by a thigh injury.

Furthermore, Igor Tudor must do without Pierre Kalulu - who will serve a two-match ban after his red card for violent conduct against Lazio - and Nicolo Savona (also suspended).

So, captain Manuel Locatelli may have to drop back from midfield, where Juve will be missing another regular, Khephren Thuram, due to suspension.

In better news for Tudor, Kenan Yildiz is now available, while top scorer Dusan Vlahovic returned from a layoff last week and could be promoted from the bench - but Randal Kolo Muani hopes to keep his place up front.

Despite recently suffering a drought, the latter has still scored seven Serie A goals since making his Juve debut in January, and only Capocannoniere favourite Mateo Retegui has netted more (10) during that time. ............

Juventus possible starting lineup:
Di Gregorio; Gatti, Locatelli, Veiga; Costa, Luiz, McKennie, Weah; Gonzalez, Yildiz; Kolo Muani

Udinese possible starting lineup:
Okoye; Kristensen, Bijol, Solet; Modesto, Payero, Karlstrom, Lovric, Kamara; Ekkelenkamp; Davis

We say: Juventus 2-1 Udinese

Both hit by numerous absences, neither side is particularly adept at retaining leads, so there could be a twist in the tale late on.

Udinese have lost four Serie A games after leading at half time - a league high - while, only Venezia and Como have dropped more points from winning positions than Juventus (23).

Yet, Juve's need for points to finish fourth should see them scrap out a win against aimless mid-table opponents.

Juventus coach Igor Tudor insists he’s ‘not inferior to anybody’ and notes that the team was in a ‘deep hole’ when he was appointed in March.

Juventus host Udinese in the last home game of the season on Sunday.

Tudor previewed the game at a pre-match press conference, but most of the questions were about the team’s previous performances and his future at the club. ............

“For what he’s done, the best Gatti can do is the same as in the last game,” Tudor said.

Gatti has just recovered from a calf bone fracture and was introduced only for the final five minutes in the previous game against Lazio.

Juventus are level on 64 points with the Biancocelesti in fourth position, but they have a better head-to-head record, so if they win the remaining two matches, they’ll qualify for the Champions League.

“I think we’ve done a good job despite all the problems,” Tudor insisted. ............

“When you don’t have Gatti, Koopmeiners, Yildiz, Cambiaso, Kelly, and a team that plays down to one man for two games, it isn’t easy.

“We must always be exigent and know that Juventus must win. I am the first one to be sorry, but I feel that the team has done all it could, given the circumstances. The team was in a deep hole when I arrived. Now, they are more aware, and they fight more, also with the playing time we’ve had. You need to understand the moment, and I congratulate the lads who have given their all. ............

Kenan Yildiz will return to action on Sunday after serving a two-game ban for violent conduct.

“He has suffered a lot. He is a fundamental player in the team,” said Tudor. ............

Tudor will remain in charge until the Club World Cup, but it’s not guaranteed that he’ll be offered a contract extension. According to several media outlets, Antonio Conte is Juventus’ primary coaching option for 2025-26.

“I live day by day, but I don’t think about the future,” insisted Tudor.

“If you ask me whether I feel inferior to anybody, I say no to no one.”

Serie A Preview: Juventus vs Udinese – Team News, Line-ups & Prediction

Juventus_Udinese_Preview.jpg

Juventus were second away from claiming a crucial win at Lazio last weekend, only for Matias Vecino’s 96th-minute equalizer to settle an ill-tempered 1-1 draw. Randal Kolo Muani’s opener was in vain as the record-time Italian champions finished the round in fourth, albeit level on points with the fifth-placed Biancocelesti.

The situation is far more complex, though. Roma languish only a point adrift of Juventus, whose lead over seventh-placed Bologna stands at only two points. Probably needless to say, anything other than victory against Udinese would likely put the Turin giants in an inferior position heading into the final round.

During his pre-match conference via Calciomercato, under-pressure boss Igor Tudor admitted he doesn’t feel the heat despite Juventus’ complicated position. The club’s first foreign manager in almost two decades must be glad to see Udinese touch down at the Allianz Stadium, considering his team’s recent record in this match-up.

A 2-0 win in November’s reverse fixture marked Juve’s 12th victory in their last 15 league meetings with the Friulian outfit (D2, L1). With that in mind, Kosta Runjaic’s side should make this journey with low expectations, especially after the embarrassment of a 2-1 defeat to an already-relegated Monza in the previous round.

Match Preview

Juventus

These are far from idyllic times for Juventus. Back-to-back draws against fellow top-four hopefuls Bologna and Lazio have heightened the pressure on Tudor. Furthermore, sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has come under scrutiny, even though the club renewed confidence in the former Napoli executive.

Despite drawing a league-high 16 matches this season, Juventus’ home record against Udinese suggests this clash will go one way or another. Indeed, none of their 28 league meetings since the start of the 1994/95 campaign have ended all square (W22, L6), though the visitors emerged 1-0 victors in this corresponding fixture last term.

However, Juventus defied a numerical disadvantage to beat Monza 2-0 in their last Serie A home outing, preserving a near-flawless league record on home turf in 2025. Tudor’s charges have won seven of their eight top-flight matches since the calendar year flipped (D1), including all three since his appointment.

Udinese

 ............

Team News

Much of Juventus’ problems in 2025 came from a full-blown injury crisis. In addition to long-term absentees Arkadiusz Milik, Gleison Bremer, and Juan Cabal, Tudor cannot call upon the likes of Andrea Cambiaso, Lloyd Kelly, and Teun Koopmeiners. Moreover, Pierre Kalulu, Nicolo Savona, and Khephren Thuram are absent with suspensions. ............

Juventus vs Udinese Potential Starting Line-ups

Juventus (3-4-2-1): Di Gregorio; Gatti, Locatelli, Veiga; Costa, Luiz, McKennie, Weah; Gonzalez, Yildiz; Kolo Muani.

Udinese (3-5-1-1): Okoye; Kristensen, Bijol, Solet; Modesto, Payero, Karlstrom, Lovric, Kamara; Ekkelenkamp; Davis.

Juventus vs Udinese Prediction

Tudor can become only the third Juventus manager in the last 55 years to win each of their first four Serie A home games. Given Udinese’s notorious struggle in this fixture and a rather unenviable track record outside the Bluenergy Stadium, joining the illustrious company of Maximiliano Allegri and Maurizio Sarri should be a mere formality.

Prediction: Juventus to Win

Juventus vs Udinese: Preview and Prediction

Kijk Juventus FC - Udinese Calcio Live Streams | DAZN BE

For a club like Juventus and their ambitions, securing UEFA Champions League football is imperative, as Igor Tudor has a massive task at hand in the final two games of the Serie A season against Udinese and Venezia. The race for the fourth spot is still very much alive, with four teams angling to occupy that coveted place.

As things stand, Juventus are level on 64 points with Lazio, while AS Roma and Bologna are chasing those two down with 63 and 62 points, respectively. With two games remaining, these minute gaps will determine a close-edged finish to the season’s top-four race.

Juventus have met two of those three teams in their last two games, with both ending in eventful draws. ............

As a bonus, Tudor will hope that Udinese will continue their terrible record against Juventus on Sunday, with the visitors only managing to score once in their last six meetings. That strike came last year, at this very venue when Kosta Runjaic’s side secured a 1-0 win. ............

Team News & Tactics

Juventus

Igor Tudor must manoeuvre through a defensive crisis ahead of this game, as Lloyd Kelly will miss out with a problem. He joins Juan Cabal, Gleison Bremer, and Andrea Cambiaso on the sidelines, while Pierre Kalulu also misses out for Juventus against Udinese with a suspension.

To add to their woes, Nicolo Savona is also missing through a suspension, and Tudor might consider using skipper Manuel Locatelli as a makeshift centre-back for this clash. Alberto Costa and Renato Veiga could slot on either side of Locatelli in that back three, which could allow Douglas Luiz to stake a claim in one of the central midfield roles alongside Khephren Thuram.

Francisco Conceicao and Timothy Weah are pencilled in for the wing-back roles, while Nico Gonzalez and Kenan Yildiz manage the attacking spaces. Randal Kolo Muani’s key strike against Lazio will likely let him start against Udinese ahead of Dusan Vlahovic, who has not scored for Juventus since Tudor took over.

Probable Lineup (3-4-2-1): Gregorio; Costa, Locatelli, Veiga; Conceicao, Luiz, Thuram, Weah; Yildiz, Gonzalez; Kolo Muani

5fwlxA6nMA0FWj0mkw5Y_Csh.png

Udinese

 ............

Probable Lineup (3-5-1-1): Okoye; Kristiansen, Bijol, Solet; Modesto, Lovric, Karlstrom, Zarraga, Kamara; Davis; Pafundi

XjaSEHQ1Yl375EPYTE9J_Em5.png

Key Stats

  • Juventus are undefeated in 34 of their last 38 matches (Serie A
  • Juventus have kept a clean sheet in five of their last six matches against Udinese in all competitions
  • Juventus are undefeated in 17 of their last 19 matches against Udinese in all competitions.
  • Udinese have managed one victory against Juventus in their last 6 meetings.

Player to Watch

Manuel Locatelli

The Juventus skipper will probably play the most important game of the season so far in a slightly unfamiliar role in central defence when they take on Udinese this weekend. A crisis at the back will likely see Igor Tudor use Locatelli in the back three, and the Italian international must put in a masterclass shift to ensure his team gets all three points. ............

Prediction

Juventus 2-0 Udinese

Udinese are missing key attackers, and add to their terrible record against Juventus, there is not much expected from Kosta Runjaic’s side ahead of this trip to Turin. The visitors are not under any pressure with regards to their season, although they might suffer because Juventus will be hungry for a win here.

This clash with Udinese is probably the most important game for Igor Tudor so far in his short reign as Juventus manager. A win will place the Bianconeri as the clear favourites to finish fourth ahead of the final game of the campaign, and despite the Turin side having some key issues at the back, they are expected to take all three points and keep a clean sheet in the process.

Two Juventus stars still not training with the main group

Infortunati Juve, novità da Koopmeiners e Vlahovic a Gatti

Juventus are intensifying their preparations ahead of this weekend’s crucial fixture against Udinese, with the pressure mounting to secure all three points. As the Serie A season enters its final stretch, the Bianconeri find themselves battling injury setbacks and suspensions, making squad depth and resilience more important than ever. ............

While the club remains optimistic about recovering some of the sidelined players in time for the weekend’s match, the most recent training session offered mixed news. Both Federico Gatti and Teun Koopmeiners were unable to participate in team drills. Instead, the duo trained separately due to fitness concerns, casting doubt over their availability for the Udinese fixture.

This update will be unwelcome news for supporters, as both Gatti and Koopmeiners have been influential figures for Juventus this season. Their presence on the pitch often adds stability and creativity, and they have contributed significantly in key matches throughout the campaign. ............

Gatti and Koopmeiners are undoubtedly vital players, but Juventus must now rely on the depth of their squad to overcome this challenging period. Alternatives within the team must rise to the occasion and ensure the club’s objectives remain within reach. ............
