2nd UEFA Cup

16 May 1990

An all Italian final, against Fiorentina who had beaten Werder Bremen in the semi-final. The first leg, on 2nd May in Torino saw the farewell to the old Stadio Comunale. Juve won 3-1 with goals from Galia, Casiraghi and De Agostini. The return leg, on neutral territory of Avellino, finished 0-0. Juve had got their hands on the second UEFA Cup in their history.

3rd UEFA Cup

19 May 1993

Juventus added their third UEFA Cup to the trophy cabinet after a two-legged final against the German team Borussia Dortmund, winning 3-1 in Germany on 5th May (Dino and Roberto Baggio on the scoresheet) and then 3-0 at the Delle Alpi on 19th May (double from Dino Baggio and a strike from Moeller).

23rd Scudetto

21 May 1995

Eight long years passed before Juve could reclaim the Scudetto. The summer of 1994 saw much change, returning history to the tradition. It was a completely reformed Juventus, with Marcello Lippi in charge: Ferrara at the back, Paulo Sousa and Deschamps in midfield, and the young Del Piero who had joined the first team, all notable additions. The first convincing test, an encounter between predicted title contenders, is against Sampdoria. Di Livio opened the scoring, but the assist was by Del Piero, formidable in the position of Roberto Baggio whose season had been disrupted due to injury. The team played good football but unfortunately the balance was upset. After the 0-0 against Inter, the team stumbled against Foggia. only Parma seemed to be able to keep up with the momentum possessed by Lippi’s men. After the derby was postponed due to a terrible flood that brought Piedmont to a standstill, Juve embarked on a magnificent run of victories. The second half of the season began in the right manner until Juve try to make life difficult for themselves, losing three home games in a row, but alternating these defeats with resounding victories on the road. Two games from the end, the title had been sealed at home. Ferrara and Ravanelli were ever-present, and Vialli ended the season as top scorer on 17. Ravanelli notched 15 and Del Piero joined Baggio on 8 goals, preparing to inherit his legacy.

9th Coppa Italia

11 June 1995

The final against Parma is the last act of a season that saw both sides battling for victory on all fronts, from the Championship to the UEFA Cup. As it happened, heading into the Italian cup final, both clubs stood on one trophy each. Juve won the Scudetto and Parma lifted the UEFA Cup.


The first leg was played at the Delle Alpi on June 7th 1995. An dgy match was resolved by a scrappy goal, Porrini the scorer. Doubts remained as to whether 1-0 would be enough for the Bianconeri in the return leg. However, Juventus came out fighting at the Tardini and Porrini scored again, withRavanelli adding another, to end the season with a cup triumph.

1st Italian Supercup

17 January 1996

17th january 1996: at Delle Alpi, filled with fog, goes on the match between Juventus and Parma, Italy Cup finalist that was defeated in the double match just from Juventus (1-0 in Turin and 2-0 in Parma).
Juventus opposes: Peruzzi, Ferrara, Tacchinardi, Vierchowod, Torricelli, Conte, Paulo Sousa, Deschamps, Ravanelli, Vialli. Scala's Parma answers with: Bucci, Mussi, Fernando Couto, Sensini, Cannavaro, Di Chiara, Baggio D., Brambilla, Crippa, Zola, Stoichkov. Referee Ceccarini from Livorno.
A goal by Vialli at 33' in the first half gives Juve the first success in the competition, established in the 1987-88 season.

2nd Champions League

22 May 1996

On the 22nd May, in Rome, Juventus is against the super favourite Ajax. The Bianconeri take all the first time to figure out how to beat the "Lancers" and at the first serious attempt they take the lead with Ravanelli. The game was frustrating, the broken balance didn’t give the Bianconeri a tactical advantage because Ajax swept forward without fear. Before the break Litmanen profited from a rebound in the area and beat Peruzzi to bring the visitors level. In the second half Juve raised their game, Vialli went desperately close to making it 2-1, whilst Padovano also tried his luck, having come on in place of Ravanelli. Nothing further occurred and the scores remained level in extra time. It went to penalties. Davids couldn’t beat Peruzzi, Ferrara netted his spot kick. Litmanen, Pessotto, Scholten and Padovano found the target, but another moment of brilliance from Peruzzi against Silooy tipped the balance in the Bianconeri’s favour. Jugovic was up next, if he scored it was all over. And he did.The cup was Juve’s and Vialli lifted it high into the Roma sky.

2nd Intercontinental Cup

26 November 1996

Tokyo, November 26, 1996. Juve challenges the South American champions of River Plate. It is a Juventus at the top of the international ranking. Lippi sent on: Peruzzi, Ferrara, Torricelli, Montero, Porrini, Di Livio, Deschamps, Jugovic, Zidane, Boksic, Del Piero. The Argentines oppose players like Francescoli, Ortega Ayala and Salas. The game proves difficult start for the Bianconeri, who suffer the technique and the good tactic disposition of the opponents, but in the second half the match changes face and Juventus, slowly, assumes command of operations. A great goal by Del Piero, man of the match, seals the victory of Juventus for the second Intercontinental Cup, 11 years later the first.

2nd European Supercup

5 February 1997

Juve had won their second Champions League in Rome at the expense of Ajax and then beat River Plate to clinch the Intercontinental Cup in Tokyo, the triple was completed facing and beating Paris St. Germain. In Paris on 15th January 1997, the Bianconeri romped to a 6-1 victory (goals from Porrini, Padovano, Ferrara, Padovano again, Lombardo and Amoruso). The return leg in Palermo, on 5th Feburary, was little more than a formality: Juve running out 3-1 winners, with a double by Del Piero and an additional strike from Christian Vieri.

24th Scudetto

1 June 1997

Juve finished the previous season second behind Milan, but became European champions at the expense of Ajax. A great deal changed over the summer. In attack, Vialli and Ravenelli left the club and Boksic, Vieri and Amoruso arrived. Also remaining with the club were Del Piero and Padovano. Strengthening both the defence and the midfield were two key players, Montero and Zidane. The beginning of the season was underwhelming but successive victories propelled Lippi’s men to the top of the table. But the Bianconeri couldn’t switch off for a moment: Roma, Napoli and Milan drew with Juve who had been caught. Vital, the hard fought victory over Bologna, thanks to a great goal from Zidane, whose influence on the team was growing game by game. Everything was decided on the evening of 15th May. Juve played hosts to Piacenza, whilst Parma who were challenging the Bianconeri faced Milan. Juventus made hard work of their visitors, but then dominated, whereas the team from Emilia Romagna were beaten at home by the Rossoneri. It was all over. On 18th May, Juventus-Parma finished 1-1, and the following week the Bianconeri drew in Bergamo clinching the point which, one game before the end of the season, gave them a mathematical victory of title number 24.

2nd Italian Supercup

23 August 1997

23rd August 1997: at Delle Alpi goes on a single match between Italian Champions Juventus and surprising Italy Cup winner Vicenza.

Juventus on the field with: Peruzzi, Birindelli, Ferrara, Montero, Pessotto, Conte, Deschamps, Zidane, Di Livio, Inzaghi, Del Piero. Vicenza of Guidolin resists all the first half to the attacks of Juventus, but capitulates at the start of the second half by the invention of newly acquired Inzaghi, that repeats himself few minutes later signing the 2-0. In the final also Conte scores for a 3-0 which gives Lippi's team the title of Super Cup for the second time in its history.

25th Scudetto

10 May 1998

Pippo Inzaghi and Edgar Davids were the two new arrivals at Juve for season 1997-98, signed with the intention of repeating the success of the previous year. The season started early, due to the World Cup looming in the summer. Juve were slightly different from the previous year, preferring pace up front, where Del Piero and Inzaghi began to develop an understanding. It seemed to be the year for Moratti’s men, but Juve refused to give in: five consecutive victories over Vicenza, Bologna, Atalanta, Lecce and Roma, tipping the balance in the Bianconeri’s favour. It was evident that the direct games would prove to be decisive. Finally, on 26th April, having dispatched Piacenza and Empoli, the game of the year against Inter had arrived. The Nerazzurri had lost a few games but still had managed to cling onto first place with Juve. A goal from Del Piero sealed victory and, practically, the Scudetto. Del Piero and Zidane were the driving force of the side, and the Del Piero-Inzaghi partnership devastated Championship defences, scoring 39 goals between them.

Intertoto Cup

24 August 1999

To obtain a place in the UEFA Cup 1999/2000 competition, Juve were forced to cut their summer break short and participate in the Intertoto Cup. It began on 18th July, against the Romanian side Ceahlăul Piatra Neamţ. The Bianconeri made hard work of their task, and drew twice with Tacchinardi’s goal in the 1-1 away leg proving decisive. Two goal fests (4-0 away and 5-1 at home) settled the encounter with Rostelmasch.
In the final, on 10th August in Cesena, the Bianconeri won the first leg 2-0 against Stade Rennais with a double from Inzaghi, and drew 2-2 in the second leg in Rennes, clinching the trophy.

26th Scudetto

5 May 2002

The summer of 2001 saw many arrivals. Juventus changed face, starting with their manager: Marcello Lippi returned, the man who had won everything, starting and ending a fantastic period for the club, between 1994 and 1998. Buffon, Thuram, Nedved and Salas were the most notable purchases. Zidane the biggest loss. It was a bright Juve on the opening of the season but then problems began to emerge. Juve faded slightly, this spell was overcome by showing strong determination and meanwhile they didn’t give up when the much awaited Pavel Nedved found his form, having not previously been firing on all cylinders. With the squad settled, Lippi demanded the pursuit of the first teams, a furious chase. April 21st, the first turning point. Inter, who were three points ahead of the Bianconeri, couldn’t break down Chievo, whilst Juve beat Piacenza with a great goal from Nedved. One point, just one point. And Roma could also breathe again. The penultimate round passed without upset. A thrilling finale. The Nerazzurri were away in Rome against Lazio, the Bianconeri were to play Udine, and the third contender Roma were at the Delle Alpi against the already safe Granata. Juve started with vigour and sealed victory in the first quarter of an hour. Inter had some problems, recovered, went behind again and collapsed. Immense joy for the Bianconeri and Ronaldo’s tears: these are the images that will be remembered in the story of Juventus’ Scudetto number 26.

3rd Italian Supercup

25 August 2002

Tripoli, 25 August 2002: it is again a challenge between Juventus and Parma to assign the Italian Super Cup.
At the stadium, "June 11th" Juventus is on the field with this formation: Buffon, Thuram, Iuliano, Montero, Moretti, Camoranesi, Tacchinardi Baiocco, Nedved, Salas, Del Piero.
Mister Prandelli opposes: Frey, Diana Ferrari, Bonera, Falsino, Marchionni, Lamouchi, Donati, Nakata, Di Vaio, Adriano. Farina of Novi Ligure as the referee.
Del Piero took the lead and at the 38' scores but Juve is reached by a goal from Di Vaio at 64'. Again Del Piero at 73' brings definitively ahead the Bianconeri.

27th Scudetto

24 May 2003

15th September 2002, from the second game, saw the new tricoloured adventure of Juventus. Little had changed from the start of last season. According to the experts, it would be a season of the two Milan sides, and in fact Milan and Inter pushed the champions all the way. After the international break, on 19th October, it was Inter-Juve, a perfect opportunity for the Nerazzurri to dispose of a title rival in the early stages of the season. Juve had a great opportunity to win a hard-fought, nervous encounter thanks to a penalty from Del Piero in the 88th minute. However, Inter netted a late equaliser, following a frantic scramble in the penalty area which saw the Nerazzuri goalkeeper Toldo join the attack. November was the month in which Juve’s comeback was sealed.

The start of the second half of the season began with a straightforward victory over Piacenza, dedicated by the squad and supporters to the memory of Gianni Agnelli, who had passed away several days before.

Juve were flying high in their quest for the Scudetto: Scudetto that began to take shape on 27th April. Only the mathematical confirmation was needed. After the 0-0 at the Olympic Stadium against Lazio (Buffon superb, saving a Fiore penalty), of which Inter failed to take advantage by drawing in Bergamo, it was the 2-2 against Perugia, on 10th May that handed the Scudetto to Juve two games before the end. The final game of the season, on 24th May, saw Juve celebrate a feast of goals against Chievo, a true joy for the fans. Scudetto number 27 on the board, and a special mention to Nedved, who was great in the more troubled times.

4th Italian Supercup

3 August 2003

It is August 3, 2003: at the Giant Stadium in New York goes on stage the Italian Super Cup with the challenge of challenges, between Italian champions Juventus and Milan Italy Cup winner. But above all, the game is a rematch of the Champions League final in Manchester, won by AC Milan after penalties.
90 minutes and 0 goals. The match has a start in the second overtime. AC Milan took the lead on a penalty converted by Pirlo, but after less than a minute Trezeguet equalized. It goes to penalties, whith the transformations of Di Vaio (who had replaced Del Piero), Trezeguet, Birindelli, Camoranesi (replaced Miccoli) and Ferrara (entered in place of Iuliano). The decisive error of AC Milan is from Brocchi. Juve imposes for 5-3 and winning the trophy for the fourth time.

28th Scudetto

8 May 2005

The summer of 2004 saw the departure of Marcello Lippi, who was replaced as manager by Fabio Capello. The squad was reshaped significantly. Arriving were Emerson, Fabio Cannavaro, Blasi, Zebina and a new target man, the Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Juve got off to a flying start: overcoming Brescia and beating Atlanta and Sampdoria. The Bianconeri squad drew only once in the opening stages but soon regained their momentum. At the end of November, Inter recovered from 2-0 down to 2-2, and Milan left the Delle Alpi unbeaten on the 18th of December. However, Juve’s form made them unstoppable. On 5th March 2005, following the victory over Roma at the Olympic Stadium, it seemed that the Scudetto was well within Juve’s grasp. But the missed opportunity at home to Inter, and the great form of Milan meant there was only one other rival, with the game against the Rossoneri, on 18th May holding a great significance. Juventus emerged victorious, the winner came from Trezeguet, and this time first place was made safe. Milan, in second, finished 7 points away, while Inter were 14 points adrift of the Bianconeri.

29th Scudetto

2 April 2006

With Mutu, Chiellini and moreover Vieira added to the squad, Juventus began season 2005-2006. Nine consecutive victories were recorded before this run came to an end in Milan against AC Milan. But the form of Capello’s men picked up again on 19th November, at the Olympic Stadium, triggered by a goal from Nedved at the end of the first half. The Bianconeri showed an impressive demonstration of force, winning 4-1 with an extraordinary goal from Ibrahimovic and a double from Trezeguet.
Juve also won in Firenze, on 4th December, the 2-1 to send them clear at the top of the table. Any doubts were removed on 12th February 2006: against Inter in Milan they clinched three extremely valuable points to keep them ahead of the pack. A draw against Milan at the Delle Alpi was enough to secure a first place finish.

Serie B 2006/07

Juventus were condemned by the sporting body to play a season in Serie B, and penalized nine points as the two previous Scudetti were taken away. Didier Deschamps was the new manager who began his mission with a core of champions: Del Piero, Buffon and Camoranesi, coming from the World Cup victory achieved in Berlin, as well as Trezeguet and Nedved. Alex Del Piero finished the season as Serie B’s top scorer, having broken the all-time Juve record for goals scored.

30th Scudetto

13 May 2012

For the 2010–11 season, Jean-Claude Blanc was replaced by Andrea Agnelli as the club's president. Agnelli's first action was to replace Zaccheroni and Director of Sport Alessio Secco with Sampdoria manager Luigi Delneri and Director of Sport Giuseppe Marotta. However, Delneri failed to improve their fortunes and was dismissed. Former player and fan favourite Antonio Conte, fresh after winning promotion with Siena, was named as Delneri's replacement.

With Conte as manager, Juventus went unbeaten for the entire season. Towards the second half of the season, the team was mostly competing with northern rivals Milan for first place in a tight contest. Juventus won the title on the 37th matchday, after beating Cagliari 2–0, and Milan losing to Internazionale 4–2. After a 3–1 win in the final matchday against Atalanta, Juventus became the first team to go the season unbeaten in the current 38-game format. Other noteworthy achievements include the biggest away win (5–0 at Fiorentina), best defensive record (20 goals conceded) in Serie A and second best in the top six European leagues.
