INTER - JUVENTUS 1 - 2 Mauro Icardi (9') Claudio Marchisio (42'-Penalty) Álvaro Morata (83') Saturday, May 16th, 2015 - 6:00 p.m. Giuseppe Meazza Stadium (San Siro), Milan Referee: Daniele Doveri Marchisio: Juventus Play As A Team May 16, 2015 Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio has stated that the Bianconeri play as a team, following their 2-1 win over Inter in Saturday’s Derby d’Italia. La Vecchia Signora have already secured the Serie A title for a fourth consecutive season, but the Italian international assured that his side were aiming to win the game, thus reflecting on the result. “The substitutes always give their best, and in the second half there was a will to win,” Marchisio told Sky. “We didn’t have one of our best games, but we play as a team.” Marchisio continued his words by saying that his side want to be on top form come the Champions League final against Barcelona on June 6. “The Champions League final is still far away but time will pass by quickly, and it’s important to stay focused so we can be at our best in the final,” he started. “We were criticised in the past, but this year we have two finals [Champions League and Coppa Italia] to play in, we’re taking another step forward. We believed that we could progress, and we have to be stay in shape for the final.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

INTER - JUVENTUS 1 - 2 Mauro Icardi (9') Claudio Marchisio (42'-Penalty) Álvaro Morata (83') Saturday, May 16th, 2015 - 6:00 p.m. Giuseppe Meazza Stadium (San Siro), Milan Referee: Daniele Doveri Mancini: 'San Siro a problem' May 16, 2015 Roberto Mancini admits Inter have “a San Siro problem,” need champions, but lacked “luck” against Juventus. The Nerazzurri had gone 1-0 up on home turf in the Derby d’Italia, but were beaten 2-1 by a second-string and largely unmotivated side. “We played truly well in the first half and should’ve gone 2-0 or 3-0 up. Instead, in my view, we failed to make the most of that pressure,” Mancio told Sky Sport Italia. “After the break we conceded on a ball we got wrong. I thought we played better than Juve, but that’s not enough in a game like this, as you need good luck too. “Yuto Nagatomo created a lot down the left when he came on and we did have the chances to score more goals.” The goals were gifted to Juve, as Nemanja Vidic brought down Alessandro Matri on a Gary Medel backpass for the penalty, then Samir Handanovic’s howler let in an Alvaro Morata shot. “Vidic could’ve been a bit more careful, but these things happen.” With this defeat, hopes of qualifying for the Europa League have surely crumbled. “It’s difficult, but as I said a few weeks ago that won’t change our future. We are building for the future, this team needs experienced players who can raise the quality level of the squad. “Above all, experienced champions help the younger players to grow and slowly improve in every area.” Inter are surprisingly poor at home, so is it a tactical or a psychological problem? “San Siro weighs on us a bit too much and we have to work on that, as San Siro is our home, so we need to make it into a strength and not a weakness.” Mancini was asked why Juventus were head and shoulders above the rest of Serie A. “Juventus are stronger, but it’s not such a clear gap. I think if we do things the right way, the gap can close up.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

INTER - JUVENTUS 1 - 2 Mauro Icardi (9') Claudio Marchisio (42'-Penalty) Álvaro Morata (83') Saturday, May 16th, 2015 - 6:00 p.m. Giuseppe Meazza Stadium (San Siro), Milan Referee: Daniele Doveri Player Ratings: Inter 1-2 Juventus May 16, 2015 Inter lost 2-1 at home to Juventus on Saturday afternoon in Serie A as Bianconeri striker Alvaro Morata continued his rich vein of form, hitting the second half winner. The Nerazzurri took the lead through Mauro Icardi but were eventually beaten by a second-string Juve side after Claudio Marchisio slotted home a late first half penalty and Morata struck the winner with seven minutes left to play. Inter Samir Handanovic – 4.5 – Howler - Almost took the award for ‘Howler of the Season’ away from Torino’s Daniele Padelli after just four minutes. Managed to make another mess of the Morata effort which did go in capping off a miserble match for the big goalkeeper. Danilo D’Ambrosio – 6 – Effective - Attacked his right side quite well, just a shame his final pass was often wayward which was frustrating given the good positions he took up. Almost scored with an excellent curling effort. Andrea Ranocchia – 5.5 – Baffled - Defended adequately but suffered the current effect Morata seems to have on every defence he plays against. Didn’t seem too happy being substituted as Inter swapped to a back three late in the game. Nemanja Vidic – 4.5 – Desperate - Some very poor decision making from the ex-Manchester United centre half, putting his side under unnecessary pressure at times. Out-paced by Alessandro Matri, then hauled the striker down for the penalty. Awful afternoon for the Serbian. Juan Jesus – 5.5 – Nervous - Fails to convince time and time again as a left back. Has neither the pace, dribbling or crossing ability to do the attacking role asked of him. Booked for a terrible challenge on Claudio Marchisio. Marcelo Brozovic – 7 – Goal - Hit the shot that flicked off Icardi for the opening goal and much the busier of the Inter midfielders. Made plenty of runs into the box and was easily the Nerazzurri’s stand out performer. Gary Medel – 6 – Modest - Partly at fault for the penalty as his poor pass allowed Alessandro Matri in on goal which marred an otherwise typical swashbuckling performance. Mateo Kovacic – 5.5 – Insufficient - Another limp display from the creative Croatian, who offered some decent flashes of genius but little else. Inter need more from a palyer who promises so much but continues to fail to live up to the hype. Xherdan Shaqiri– 6 – Acceptable - Smacked the woodwork and looked a threat whenever he had the ball at his feet. Surprised to see him substituted given he can be a match winner but obviously does not convince Roberto Mancini. Rodrigo Palacio – 6 – Mediocre - Usual good off-the-ball movement from the Argentine but looked slightly off the pace tonight and didn’t really trouble the Juventus defence. Mauro Icardi – 6.5 – Motivated - Bizarre opening goal which brushed off his chest and past Storari. Made the conscious effort to drop deeper in search of the ball which allowed him to keep away from the rottweilers Bonucci and Barzagli and was very effective. Devoured a great opportunity towards end of the match with a free header directed wide. Substitutes Yuto Nagatomo (72 mins) – 5.5 – Tactical - Came on to help down the left side but made little difference. Lukas Podolski (82 mins) – N/A Assane Gnoukouri (88 mins) – N/A Juventus Marco Storari – 7 – Miracle - No chance with the Icardi goal but an incredible reflex stop from Rodrigo Palacio which kept his side in the game in the first half. Then made a double save of epic proportions with five minutes to go as Inter pushed for an equaliser. Stephan Lichtsteiner – 5.5 – Slack - Complained of a lack of support when trying to attack the right flank and was not his usual dynamic self. Subbed early in the second half. Andrea Barzagli – 6.5 – Barrier - The veteran centre back looked concentrated and organised. A complete guarantee at the back for the away side. Leonardo Bonucci – 6 – Adequate - Looked slightly jaded and possibly could have done with the rest given his midweek heroics against Real Madrid. Didn’t do too much wrong but could have been punished had Palacio and co. been a bit sharper. Simone Padoin – 6 – Sufficient - A few too many errors in terms of distribution though marginally improved when Juventus switched to a back three. Romulo– 5 – Feeble - Very little from the bench warmer who failed to make the most of a rare start. A far cry from his Fiorentina days. Claudio Marchisio – 7 – Leader - Tucked away the spot kick confidently and has become the leader of the side in the absence of Buffon. Much more consistent than he has ever been, Juventus will soon be totally dependent on him once Andrea Pirlo moves on. Stefano Sturaro – 6 – Typical - Battled hard in a congested midfield without really standing out from the crowd. Growing with every game however and rarely makes an error. Roberto Pereyra – 5.5 – Quiet - Looked somewhat confused as he struggled to find the time and space on the field to have a real impact on the match. Alessandro Matri – 6 – Starved - Won the first half penalty but had poor service for much of the match. His physique demands aerial balls but he was offered precious little. ALVARO MORATA – 7.5 – Galactic - Everything he does right now just seems magical. Still on a high from his Champions League exploits, the Spaniard was in splendid form running through the Inter defence with ease at times. Missed an absolute sitter at the start of the second half but scored the winner, what more can you ask for from your striker? Substitutes Angelo Ogbonna (55 mins) – 6 – Strong - Came on as Massimiliano Allegri switched to a back three and helped repel the Inter front line. Fernando Llorente (66 mins) – 5 – Passive - Can’t get a look in right now with Morata about. Did little in the time afforded to him. Paul Pogba (78 mins) – N/A http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

INTER - JUVENTUS 1 - 2 Mauro Icardi (9') Claudio Marchisio (42'-Penalty) Álvaro Morata (83') Saturday, May 16th, 2015 - 6:00 p.m. Giuseppe Meazza Stadium (San Siro), Milan Referee: Daniele Doveri Allegri: 'Juve always intense' May 16, 2015 Max Allegri complimented Juventus for beating Inter at San Siro with a second string side, but had advice for Alvaro Morata. “I have to compliment all the lads, as they confirmed everything they’ve done throughout the season,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia after a 2-1 result. “It was a good performance, showing character against an impressive Inter side. We did well coming out for the second half and I am very happy the lads again played with great intensity and desire for victory.” Ex-Real Madrid striker Morata scored thanks to a Samir Handanovic howler, but also wasted several more opportunities. “Morata is a player who has gained confidence of his own abilities, is learning about Italian football and developed physically too. “There was a period when he only ever went for goal, then he only ever passed it to his teammates. I told him he needs to find a middle ground! He knows this and is working on it. “Marco Storari was also decisive today with some wonderful saves, including in the first half. “The important thing today was to put in a good performance and keep the concentration levels, as we have to prepare for the Coppa Italia Final and the Champions League. “A Coach can only consider himself fortunate to work with a team that is always prepared to learn and do more. We do still need to move the ball around more quickly, though. “There are moments in a match when you need to soak up pressure, because few teams keep the ball and attack for a full 90 minutes. You need a breather and also be aware that you can score at any moment.” Allegri was asked whether he still felt the shadow of Antonio Conte after reaching the Champions League Final. “I think it’s normal that after three years achieving so much that Conte would remain in the history of the club and the hearts of the fans. “In football the main thing that counts is getting results. I believed in this team and felt they could improve further, which they are indeed doing.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

INTER - JUVENTUS 1 - 2 Mauro Icardi (9') Claudio Marchisio (42'-Penalty) Álvaro Morata (83') Saturday, May 16th, 2015 - 6:00 p.m. Giuseppe Meazza Stadium (San Siro), Milan Referee: Daniele Doveri Internazionale 1-2 Juventus May 16, 2015 Inter Milan suffered a setback in their pursuit of a place in Europe next season after falling to a 2-1 defeat at home to champions Juventus. Mauro Icardi gave the Nerazzurri a lead which would have seen them rise to fifth had they been able to see it through to the end. However, a Claudio Marchisio penalty and Alvaro Morata strike saw Juve turn the game around and, just days after reaching the final of the Champions League, reinforce their position as Italy's leading club with Inter left with work to do in their final two matches. A seven-game unbeaten streak had taken Inter to within touching distance of a place in the Europa League next season and that positive trend looked set to continue when Icardi got the deftest of touches with his chest to Brozovic's shot to divert the ball into the far corner of Marco Storari's goal. Rodrigo Palacio had a shot saved by Storari and Xherdan Shaqiri hit the crossbar with Brozovic's goal on the rebound ruled out for a marginal offside decision as the hosts asserted themselves on the game. Juve, fresh from booking their place in the final of the Champions League and with a changed starting XI, were not at the races until Alessandro Matri was put through on goal and he went down under the challenge of Nemanja Vidic just before half-time. Marchisio stepped up to send Samir Handanovic the wrong way and bring the Bianconeri level. Morata had two good chances to give Juve the lead early in the second half, but after shooting into the side-netting, he headed wide from a handful of yards out. He did get his name on the scoresheet in the 83rd minute, but only thanks to a mistake by Handanovic, who let his weak shot slip through. Inter could have levelled a few minutes later when both Palacio and Icardi were denied by Storari before Morata wasted a chance to seal things for the Italian champions, who are still on course for a treble after beating the first and last Italian side to succeed in that undertaking in 2010. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

INTER - JUVENTUS 1 - 2 Mauro Icardi (9') Claudio Marchisio (42'-Penalty) Álvaro Morata (83') Saturday, May 16th, 2015 - 6:00 p.m. Giuseppe Meazza Stadium (San Siro), Milan Referee: Daniele Doveri Alvaro Morata scores late winner for Juventus May 16, 2015 Juventus have come from behind to secure a 2-1 win over Inter Milan at the San Siro in Serie A this evening, with Alvaro Morata scoring the winning goal inside the final 10 minutes. The home side broke the deadlock less than 10 minutes after kickoff as Marcelo Brozovic sent a high ball into the box, which Mauro Icardi deflected into the back of the net off his chest. The champions pushed to get back on level terms shortly after, dominating possession, but Samir Handanovic was ready to punch a Morata strike clear. Marco Storari came under pressure down the other end moments later though as Rodrigo Palacio pushed for a second for Inter, but the keeper palmed it away. Inter continued to look the more likely as Xherdan Shaqiri struck the crossbar with a curling effort from the edge of the box, before Brozovic's strike on the rebound was chalked off for offside. Despite the home side's dominance, Juventus were back on level terms before the break when Alessandro Matri was brought down by Nemanja Vidic, setting up Claudio Marchisio for an equaliser from the penalty spot. The visitors were pressing again at the start of the second half as they tried to take the lead for the first time, but Morata blasted the ball just wide, before heading just past the post moments later after Stephan Lichtsteiner picked him out with a cross. Icardi tried to ease the pressure for the hosts with a quick attack down the other end, but his drive from just outside the box failed to test the keeper. Both sides continued to run at the opposing goal as they looked for a winner, with Inter coming close when Danilo D'Ambrosio hit the ball first time from just inside the area before watching the finish bobble wide, leaving the sides level as the final 10 minutes approached. Marchisio tried to punish Inter from another set piece when he lined up a free kick from a dangerous position, but Handanovic watched it all the way to claim it with ease. Juventus were back on the attack moments later though when Inter failed to clear the ball, leaving Morata to hit it on the half volley from just outside the box, slotting it into the bottom right corner. Palacio led the charge for the home side as they battled to get back on level terms straight away, but Storari managed to get his fingertips to the ball to push it out for a corner. Morata tried to put the win beyond doubt in the final moment as he leapt up to head the ball towards goal from a Marchisio free kick, but his nodded finish was a fraction wide. Juventus have already clinched the league title, but the win extends their advantage over second-placed Roma to 19 points, while Inter remain eighth in the table. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

INTER - JUVENTUS 1 - 2 Mauro Icardi (9') Claudio Marchisio (42'-Penalty) Álvaro Morata (83') Saturday, May 16th, 2015 - 6:00 p.m. Giuseppe Meazza Stadium (San Siro), Milan Referee: Daniele Doveri Inter 1-2 Juventus: Handanovic Howler Gifts Bianconeri Win May 16, 2015 Juventus came back from a goal down to defeat Inter 2-1 at the Stadio Meazza on Saturday evening in Serie A. Mauro Icardi continued his terrific goalscoring exploits against Juve, bagging his sixth goal in five matches against the Bianconeri, before Claudio Marchisio brought Juventus level just before halftime with a penalty. Alvaro Morata then put Juventus ahead with just seven minutes left to play following a howler from Samir Handanovic. It was Inter though, who started the the better dictating play and possession with Icardi forcing Marco Storari into a fine save early on. Juve did have a couple of chances with the best coming from Morata who ran through the entire Inter team, but his shot was hit straight into the side netting. However, Inter took the lead through Icardi after Marcelo Brozovic’s shot took a deflection of the Argentinian putting it out of Storari’s reach. Gary Medel, Brozovic and Icardi all had efforts blocked by Juve, while Leonardo Bonucci headed wide from a corner and Morata again hit the side netting. The goalkeepers were then called into action as a Rodrigo Palacio snapshot from inside the area demanded a good reaction save from Storari, then a rasping effort from Stefano Sturaro was pushed away by Handanovic . Xherdan Shaqiri hit the crossbar and although Brozovic put the rebound into the back of the net it was ruled out for offside. Then, just before half-time, the game turned on its head somewhat as Alessandro Matri raced onto a poor backpass, beating Nemanja Vidic for pace, only for the Serbian to foul the striker in the penalty area. Marchisio stepped up and converted the spot kick. After the break, Morata had two chances to give Juve the lead. First, he raced past Andrea Ranocchia but for the third time in the match his shot rippled the side netting, before heading a Stephan Lichtsteiner cross over from close range. Mateo Kovacic then played a delightful ball over the defence for Danilo D’Ambrosio whose first time volley sailed past the far post. Brozovic had another shot blocked, before Icardi headed wide as Inter looked to get themselves back in front. It was, however, Juventus who took the lead. Good strength in the penalty area from Paul Pogba saw the ball ricochet to Morata on the edge of the area. His effort seemed to bobble in the six-yard box which wrong footed Handanovic allowing the ball to bounce over the goalkeeper and into the goal. Inter looked to get straight back onto level terms but a stupendous double save from Storari kept the away side ahead. First denying Palacio then stopping Icardi from close range. Despire there being five minutes of stoppage time, Inter were unable to find an equalising goal. The defeat leaves Inter in eighth place in Serie A, one point behind both Sampdoria and Genoa, and two back from Fiorentina in the race for Europa League football next season. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

INTER - JUVENTUS 1 - 2 Mauro Icardi (9') Claudio Marchisio (42'-Penalty) Álvaro Morata (83') Saturday, May 16th, 2015 - 6:00 p.m. Giuseppe Meazza Stadium (San Siro), Milan Referee: Daniele Doveri Inter Hand Derby d'Italia to Juve Juventus rested top players and had nothing to play for, but still conquered Inter 2-1 at San Siro thanks to a Samir Handanovic howler. May 16, 2015 The Derby d’Italia had an unusual feel to it, as Juve had already won the Scudetto and rested numerous players ahead of the Coppa Italia Final. They were fresh from earning their first Champions League Final spot in 12 years against Barcelona, so confidence was sky high. Hernanes was suspended for the hosts, plus Fredy Guarin, Jonathan, Dodo and Hugo Campagnaro injured, so Xherdan Shaqiri got a rare start. Mauro Icardi has scored in all four previous Serie A meetings with Juventus and it took him under 90 seconds to test Marco Storari with a viciously swerving shot. Alvaro Morata went on a mazy run from midfield and eventually hit the side-netting, but Inter broke through with an odd goal. A corner came out to Marcelo Brozovic for a screamer which Icardi redirected with his chest. It will be credited to the Argentine, his sixth goal in five games against Juve. Morata managed to get two Inter players down at the touchline, then surged forward for a deflected shot on to the side-netting. At the other end Storari was very quick to get down and deny Rodrigo Palacio from close range after a Stephan Lichtsteiner error. Samir Handanovic was also called into action by Stefano Sturaro’s low curler, but Shaqiri smacked his shot against the frame of the goal and Brozovic turned in the rebound after the offside flag had been raised. However, replays suggest Lichtsteiner was keeping Brozovic just about level. Roberto Pereyra horribly wasted a free header from 10 yards, turning it off target. The hosts shot themselves in the foot before half-time, giving away the ball for a counter-attack that saw Alessandro Matri easily out-sprint Nemanja Vidic. The Serbian eventually went into the tackle for an inevitable penalty, but the referee opted only for a yellow card. Vidic has given away four penalties in Serie A this season – more than any other player. Claudio Marchisio converted past spot-kick specialist Handanovic, low at the near corner to send him the wrong way. After the restart within 90 seconds Morata could’ve had a brace, as he flew away from Andrea Ranocchia to fire wide, then nodded off target from five yards when Danilo D’Ambrosio did just enough to put him off. Shaqiri drilled wide with his weaker right foot, while Andrea Barzagli got his nose in the way of a Brozovic header. D’Ambrosio was unlucky not to score one of the goals of the season when his sensational volley with the inside of the left foot curled inches past the far top corner, leaving Storari stranded on the Mateo Kovacic cross. Juventus took the lead with a shocking howler from Handanovic. Morata scuffed his shot and had assumed it was an easy save, so turned away, but heard the crowd noise to see it had somehow bounced over the goalkeeper when he was down on the ground. Moments later Storari performed an incredible double save to keep Juve in front, one-handed low on Palacio, then getting back up to beat the Icardi follow-up off the line at the back post. Morata’s glancing header whistled just wide from a Marchisio free kick. Inter: Handanovic; D'Ambrosio, Ranocchia (Gnoukouri 89), Vidic, Jesus; Brozovic (Podolski 82), Medel, Kovacic; Shaqiri (Nagatomo 71); Palacio, Icardi Juventus: Storari; Lichtsteiner (Ogbonna 55), Barzagli, Bonucci, Padoin; Romulo, Marchisio, Sturaro; Pereyra (Pogba 78); Matri (Llorente 65), Morata Ref: Doveri http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

INTER - JUVENTUS 1 - 2 Mauro Icardi (9') Claudio Marchisio (42'-Penalty) Álvaro Morata (83') Saturday, May 16th, 2015 - 6:00 p.m. Giuseppe Meazza Stadium (San Siro), Milan Referee: Daniele Doveri Inter 1-2 Juventus: Handanovic howler gifts champions the win Roberto Mancini's men face a real battle to reach the European spots after Alvaro Morata's late strike somehow evaded his grasp. May 16, 2015 Inter's European hopes were dealt a crushing blow by Juventus on Saturday as a howler from Samir Handanovic gifted the champions a 2-1 win. Spain international Alvaro Morata scored the decisive goal in Juve's 1-1 draw at Real Madrid on Wednesday as they progressed to the final of the Champions League thanks to a 3-2 aggregate victory. And the striker atoned for a glaring miss at the start of the second half to settle the contest at San Siro, albeit with a helping hand from Handanovic, who allowed Morata's weak effort to bounce over him. Juve made seven changes to the side that played Real, as the likes of Gianluigi Buffon, Carlos Tevez and Arturo Vidal were all rested with one eye on Wednesday's rearranged Coppa Italia final against Lazio. The makeshift XI started on the back foot and Inter deservedly took the lead inside 10 minutes when Marcelo Brozovic's long-range strike was diverted in by Mauro Icardi. Roberto Mancini's men came desperately close to a second when Xherdan Shaqiri rattled the crossbar and they were dealt a sucker punch before the break when Claudio Marchisio kept his cool from the spot after Nemanja Vidic chopped down Alessandro Matri. Worse was to come for Inter with Morata's 83rd-minute winner and defeat strikes a huge blow to their hopes of sneaking into the Europa League next term. Juve's much-changed side began sluggishly and Inter were rewarded for enterprising early efforts when Brozovic's 25-yard effort clipped Icardi's chest and nestled in the bottom left-hand corner. The visitors sought a swift response. Morata drove at the Inter defence and hit a wicked left-foot shot that Handanovic expertly kept out of the top right-hand corner. Marco Storari was then called into action at the other end as he got down well to Rodrigo Palacio's well-struck 10-yard effort after pouncing on a poor Juve clearance. Inter's pressure continued and Shaqiri bent a wonderful left-foot shot onto the crossbar from the edge of the box, Brozovic tucked away the rebound but was flagged offside. The hosts' luck was out again four minutes before the break when Vidic could only foul Matri after being outpaced and Marchisio duly placed the resulting penalty into the bottom left-hand corner. Morata missed two great chances at the start of the second half, first racing free down the left channel only to poke wide inside the area, before inexplicably heading Stephan Lichtsteiner's right-wing cross wide at the back post with the goal gaping. The midweek hero's frustrations grew as he tried his luck again with a 30-yard drive that cleared the crossbar, but Morata could finally smile with seven minutes to go as his bobbling shot crept in to provide Juventus with even more momentum heading to the Olimpico in midweek. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

INTER - JUVENTUS - Saturday, May 16th, 2015 - 6:00 p.m. Giuseppe Meazza Stadium (San Siro), Milan Referee: Daniele Doveri HT 1-1: Marchisio cancels out Icardi May 16, 2015 Claudio Marchisio’s penalty wiped out a Mauro Icardi chested finish, as Inter and Juventus are 1-1 at the break. The Derby d’Italia had an unusual feel to it, as Juve had already won the Scudetto and rested numerous players ahead of the Coppa Italia Final. They were fresh from earning their first Champions League Final spot in 12 years against Barcelona, so confidence was sky high. Samir Handanovic was also called into action by Stefano Sturaro’s low curler, but Shaqiri smacked his shot against the frame of the goal and Brozovic turned in the rebound after the offside flag had been raised - incorrectly, albeit by millimetres. Roberto Pereyra horribly wasted a free header from 10 yards, turning it off target. The hosts shot themselves in the foot before half-time, Gary Medel's backpass giving away the ball for a counter-attack that saw Alessandro Matri easily out-sprint Nemanja Vidic. Claudio Marchisio converted past spot-kick specialist Handanovic, low at the near corner to send him the wrong way.
