REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS - Semi-final - 2nd leg Wednesday, May 13th, 2015 - 08:45 P.M. Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Juve can go on to win the Champions League - Emerson The former midfielder is confident Massimiliano Allegri's men can get the better of Real Madrid and go on to lift the trophy for the first time in 19 years. May 11, 2015 Former Real Madrid and Juventus midfielder Emerson is confident that the Italian side can go on to win the Champions League this season. Juve travel to the Spanish capital on Wednesday looking to maintain their 2-1 lead over Carlo Ancelotti's men in their semi-final tie. And Emerson believes the Turin side can go even further than progressing to the final, but can lift the trophy in Berlin for the first time in 19 years. "It will be difficult in Madrid, much more so than at Juventus, but I think in the end Juve will progress," he told Tuttosport. "I liked the way they played a lot. It's a tough team. In critical moments they grow and defended well. "Who would have thought that they would reach the semi-finals? I would look in their eyes and say to the players: 'Nobody believed in us, now we must show that we can win the Champions League'." Emerson, though, admits that Cristiano Ronaldo could single-handedly crush the Bianconeri's dreams of European glory, but stressed the importance of Andrea Pirlo to the visiting side. "With champions like Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar, you must only pray that they are not on their game. "Andrea is a phenomenon and the Bernabeu stadium would be a good place for one of his punishing free kicks. From the edge of the area Pirlo has crazy accuracy. It's a goal 90 per cent of the time." Ancelotti's job has come under scrutiny in recent weeks, with Madrid trailing to Juventus and four points behind Barcelona in the league with two games to go. However, Emerson feels his former coach will get through it. "The Real Madrid players are accustomed to controversy. I can assure you that Ancelotti, with whom I worked at Milan, is phenomenal at bringing serenity in times of a storm. Carletto is charismatic and highly respected by the players: I have seen so many people go beyond their limits just for him."

REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS - Semi-final - 2nd leg Wednesday, May 13th, 2015 - 08:45 P.M. Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Pogba: Juventus Want To Reach The Champions League Final May 11, 2015 Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has revealed that his team’s main goal is to make it to the Champions League final this season, though he understands their semi-final second leg against Real Madrid will be difficult. The Old Lady will be heading to Spain to face Los Blancos on Wednesday with hopes of repeating their successful 2-1 victory during the first leg in Turin on May 5 and the 22-year-old confirms that he’s ready to give his all to his team now that he’s physically fit again, having scored in his return match against Cagliari on Saturday. Pogba spoke to the official Juventus YouTube channel about the decisive away clash with Real Madrid and commented on the Bianconeri’s determination to make it to the final stage of the Champions League. “I’m happy for the goal I scored against Cagliari, I feel very good and I can say that I was able to play without any problems,” said the French international. “I think we’re on the right track and I’m ready for Real Madrid. We know it will be difficult in their home stadium, but we want to win and we will do everything possible to earn the victory. “I’ve always said that we want to go as far as possible in the Champions League and it would be wonderful for us to reach the final.”

City offer Toure for Pogba? May 11, 2015 Reports in Britain claim Manchester City could offer Yaya Toure to Juventus as part of a deal to secure Paul Pogba. The French midfielder only signed a new contract with the Bianconeri in October, but has nonetheless been linked with a move away from Italy. The Guardian is today reporting that Manchester City have met with the Old Lady in Turin to discuss a possible move for the player. Inter target Yaya Toure has been offered as a possible makeweight in the deal, with the English side also willing to offer Samir Nasri, Stevan Jovetic, Aleksandar Kolarov or Edin Dzeko should Juventus be open to including players in the deal. The newspaper believes, however, that the Italian champions would seek a cash-only deal, with the asking price thought to be in the region of €100m. The Guardian believes that City are the only club to have gone as far as visiting Turin for the player, although no formal bid has yet been made.

REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS - Semi-final - 2nd leg Wednesday, May 13th, 2015 - 08:45 P.M. Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) James: Real Madrid will show no fear against Juventus The Colombian says his side know how Wednesday's Champions League opponents will set up and is confident the Spanish side will reach the final. May 11, 2015 Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez has warned Juventus that his side will show no fear as they look to overturn a 2-1 deficit in their Champions League tie and reach the final. Alvaro Morata and Carlos Tevez scored to give the Italian side a lead in Turin before Cristiano Ronaldo halved the deficit for a vital away goal for his side before Wednesday's semi-final second leg. With Madrid looking to become the first side to retain the European crown in the Champions League era, James insists they know how Massimiliano Allegri's men will approach the encounter but Los Blancos are not afraid. "Madrid fear no one," he told El Pais. "We respect many teams throughout the world, but we do not fear. We know what Italian teams are like. They defend well and we have to know how to address them. You must deal with it. If we play to our best, then we will be in the final.” Cristiano Ronaldo has scored an incredible 54 goals in 51 games in all competitions this season, but James insists the team must not be overly reliant on him. The Colombian added that he is happy to work hard for the team instead of try and score on his own. "Ronaldo cannot carry Real Madrid alone," he added. "I do what the team needs me to do. I participate in all aspects of the game. The reason you work every day with every effort is to try to learn. We are always learning, always.”

REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS - Semi-final - 2nd leg Wednesday, May 13th, 2015 - 08:45 P.M. Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Bale and Kroos doubtful? May 11, 2015 Real Madrid's Gareth Bale and Toni Kroos are both struggling with knocks ahead of the return leg with Juventus. The Merengues are already without midfielders Luka Modric and Sami Khedira for the rest of the season and could have further problems. Calcio News 24 reported that during this morning’s training, Bale remained inside while Kroos only joined in for a small part of the session. It remains unclear whether today’s stops are only precautionary or not, but Karim Benzema is continuing to struggle with a knee problem despite training regularly. The Spanish giants are the holders of the competition, but go into this semi-final second leg trailing 2-1 to the Bianconeri.

REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS - Semi-final - 2nd leg Wednesday, May 13th, 2015 - 08:45 P.M. Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Carlo Ancelotti: 'Karim Benzema could be ready for Juventus' May 11, 2015 Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that Karim Benzema is in contention for Wednesday's Champions League semi-final second leg against Juventus. The Frenchman has been on the sidelines for almost one month with a knee problem, but he could return for the European clash at the Bernabeu. "He has a little [knee] problem from a hit and I think he will be ready for Wednesday," Ancelotti has been quoted as saying by UEFA.com. Benzema is expected to be named in the squad, but is unlikely to go straight back into the starting XI. Real Madrid, who are the holders of the Champions League, lost the first leg 2-1 in Turin last week.

REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS - Semi-final - 2nd leg Wednesday, May 13th, 2015 - 08:45 P.M. Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Between Allegri’s Champions League Failings And Real Madrid’s Miracles Despite heading into the game with the advtange, Juve mustn’t think about the final if they want to book a ticket to Berlin. May 11, 2015 Juventus are halfway there, another 90 minutes left before they can call themselves Champions League finalists for the first time since the 2002-03 season. However, if they want to actually reach the final, they shouldn’t start thinking about the ‘dream final’ just now. “It would be a great achievement to reach the final as few would’ve bet on us to do it, dreams are beautiful and hopefully it becomes true.” — Andrea Barzagli The truth remains is that if Juventus are not calm and collected without being too complacent on the night, the tables could turn, especially against a side like Real Madrid. Not only that, but Massimiliano Allegri himself has a history of such ‘scars’. In the 2012-13 season, when Allegri was coach of AC Milan, the Rossoneri defeated Barcelona 2-0 in the first leg at the Stadio Meazza. In the return leg, youngster M’baye Niang hit the post early on in a goal that would’ve potentially put the tie to bed. The consequences of that miss were catastrophic, as the Blaugrana ran out 4-0 winners in the end. Not only that, but Allegri’s AC Milan also found themselves on the brink of suffering an ignominious Round of 16 defeat in 2011-12 — this time due to complacency. Having won the first leg against Arsenal 4-0, the Rossoneri had all but booked a quarter-final berth. However, the second leg in London saw a spirited Arsenal score thrice in the first half to take the aggregate score to 4-3; however, and fortunately for AC Milan, they were able to hang on. If anyone believes Real Madrid will be the ones unable to turn the tables, supposedly due to current injuries to key players such as Luka Modric, then it’s ultimately a false assumption. The truth is that Los Merengues have epitomised comebacks in recent seasons, and prevailed in games when they gave trailed. In the 2011-12 season, they lost 2-1 to Bayern Munich in the first leg, but came back into the game and only lost on penalties. In the following season, the team then coached by Jose Mourinho, overturned a tie against Manchester United at Old Trafford by scoring twice in the space of three minutes. Despite being unable to repeat their heroics in the semi-final, they came really close. After losing 4-1 to Borussia Dortmund in the first leg, Los Blancos just missed out on the final after having won 2-0 in the return fixture, meaning a goal would’ve been enough to see them progress. In the following season Real Madrid were the underdogs when they came up against defending champions Bayern Munich in the last four. Karim Benzema’s goal decided the first leg in Spain, however Los Blancos extended their lead in the second leg by winning 4-0 at the Allianz Arena. Los Merengues won the Champions League in the end by defeating city rivals Atletico Madrid 4-1 in the final, a game in which they were only kept in by a Sergio Ramos header in injury time. If it wasn’t for the goal, Los Colchoneros would’ve become champions. The truth is that not only are Real Madrid’s players more used to bottle-neck situations such as this, having reached the semi-finals for the last five seasons, but they are known for getting themselves out of them. In short, Juve must stay focused, they do have the advantage, but 90 minutes at the Santiago Bernabeu against a Real Madrid with such a ‘never-say-die’ attitude, can feel like an eternity. If they want to reach the final, they will have to put Allegri’s scarred Champions League stories to one side.

REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS - Semi-final - 2nd leg Wednesday, May 13th, 2015 - 08:45 P.M. Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Chiellini: 'Juventus must score' May 11, 2015 Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini has said that the Bianconeri must score against Real Madrid if they are to reach the Champions League final. The Old Lady travel to Spain with a 2-1 lead from the first leg, but the Italian international believes the score line isn’t substantial enough to merit a defensive approach. He also praised the atmosphere in the Juventus camp and described the excitement of the squad ahead of the semi-final second leg. “We will need to score a goal, because we know that that you can’t go to Madrid and defend such a slender advantage,” Chiellini said to Sky Sport. “Our spirits are high and we’ve had a relaxing week, having already won the Scudetto. We’ve prepared well for the match and can’t wait for Wednesday evening.”

REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS - Semi-final - 2nd leg Wednesday, May 13th, 2015 - 08:45 P.M. Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Real Madrid vs. Juventus: semifinal preview May 11, 2015 Opportunity knocks for Pogba Paul Pogba has timed his return to fitness with Juventus to perfection, as the France midfielder is about to be provided with the perfect stage to promote his talents. Pogba's rise from his unsuccessful spell as a rising star at Manchester United to becoming one of the most wanted men in European football will reach a crescendo if he leads Juve into the Champions League final with a stand-out performance against Real Madrid on Tuesday. His side are defending a 2-1 advantage following an intriguing first leg in Turin. The hamstring injury that kept Pogba on the sideline for the first meeting against the reigning European champions last week has healed in time for him to take his place for the second act at the Bernabeu, giving a global audience the opportunity to judge if the intense speculation surrounding his future has been justified. Persistent headlines suggest Juventus could expect to receive around £70 million if they sell Pogba in the summer, with Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea among the clubs reported to be eyeing up his services. It does, though, seem like a huge fee for a 22-year-old still seeking to prove himself as a world-class talent. However, with his value at such heights, a summer move may well be inevitable for Pogba, especially if he plays a key role in helping Juventus claim Champions League glory. Such a prospect seemed improbable heading into this season as, with the exception of Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan in 2010, Serie A clubs have struggled to make an impression in the latter stages of the Champions League over the last seven years. Juventus are threatening to change all that in the next few weeks. Led by the free-scoring Carlos Tevez, Juve will take a 2-1 first-leg advantage with them to the Bernabeu, with Pogba's role at the heart of their midfield pivotal to their hopes of prevailing. Time for James Rodriguez to stand up James Rodriguez was the chosen one for Real Madrid president Florentino Perez as he sought to sign his latest marquee name last summer, yet success has not flowed readily for the Colombian in the Spanish capital. The statistics suggest the player who lit up last summer's World Cup finals in such spectacular fashion has not been the shining star of Real Madrid that his £63 million price tag indicated he should be, with 12 La Liga goals in an injury-hit campaign little more than a reasonable return for the 23-year-old. Fitting him into a team built around Cristiano Ronaldo's talents was always likely to be a delicate issue for Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti, yet Rodriguez has the ability to step forward in the biggest of games and make a difference. "At Real Madrid, I sit a bit further back," Rodriguez said earlier his season. "I feel a bit more comfortable in the position I play for Colombia because I like to play closer to the goal, but as a footballer, I have to be able to stop and create as well." If Rodriguez could turn in a match-winning display on an occasion such as this, his belated coronation as a Real Madrid galactico would be confirmed.

REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS - Semi-final - 2nd leg Wednesday, May 13th, 2015 - 08:45 P.M. Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Vidal: 'Juventus have a dream' May 11, 2015 Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal has described the Champions League final as ‘a dream’ and says they are ‘not afraid of Real Madrid’. The Bianconeri travel to the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday for the second leg of their Champions League semi-final, holding a 2-1 lead. “We have a dream and we are close to the final,” Vidal said to SportMediaset. “We are not afraid of Real Madrid, we are a strong team that has shown it can move forward. “Playing at the Bernabeu is difficult, but we want to progress and to do that we will play with heart. “They will start strongly so we must be calm and level headed if we are to create chances. The important thing is that Juventus get into the Champions League final.” The Chilean international also reflected on the Old Lady’s fourth consecutive Scudetto title but their first under Coach Massimiliano Allegri. “It’s been the most difficult, with a new Coach and new players, but we’ve been in front from the first minute to win the Scudetto,” he said. “Allegri has changed our way of playing compared to Conte and the team responded well on the pitch this season. “I had some problems this year, but the important thing is to be on form at this decisive point to achieve our objectives. “I trained twice a day to be 100%, now people have realised the sacrifice that I made.”

REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS - Semi-final - 2nd leg Wednesday, May 13th, 2015 - 08:45 P.M. Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Eriksson to referee Real-Juve May 11, 2015 Swedish referee Jonas Eriksson will take charge of Juventus’ Champions League semi-final second leg against Real Madrid on Wednesday. The Old Lady won the first leg 2-1 in Turin and will reach the final by avoiding defeat against a star-studded Madrid side at the Bernabeu. The appointment of Eriksson bodes well for both sides, as the Swede has officiated two Champions League matches for the respective clubs previously. For the Bianconeri, Eriksson took charge of a 3-1 away win against Shakhtar Donetsk in 2012-13 and a 3-1 home win against Copenhagen in 2013-14. The referee has also officiated Madrid’s 3-0 win over Zenit St Petersburg in 2008-09 and a 4-1 victory over Ajax in 2012-13. However, the Swede suffered heavy criticism from Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini this season after officiating City’s 2-0 defeat to Barcelona at the Etihad Stadium.

REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS - Semi-final - 2nd leg Wednesday, May 13th, 2015 - 08:45 P.M. Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Carvajal: Madrid can't go mad against Juventus The right-back has emphasised the importance of a patient approach against the Bianconeri as his side bid to reach the Champions League final. May 11, 2015 Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has warned his team-mates that a gung-ho approach against Juventus will get them nowhere. The Bianconeri lead the European champions 2-1 from the first leg of their Champions League semi-final thanks to strikes from Alvaro Morata and Carlos Tevez, but Cristiano Ronaldo's away goal could prove crucial. The former Bayer Leverkusen right-back feels his side should adopt a patient approach and look to slowly break down Massimiliano Allegri's men rather than attack en masse. "We must keep a cool head, be patient and not go crazy," he is quoted as saying by Marca. "We know what a game of football lasts 90 minutes. We have to make them pay a high price for suffering without possession. "We have to learn from the game in Turin. They created danger for us. If we stay calm, have patience and move them, the game will fall to us. "We cannot make mistakes on easy passes in simple situations. That gives them life." Morata began his career at Real Madrid before moving to Juventus last summer and, though Carvajal is happy to see him playing well, he is not looking forward to facing his old colleague. "To find a friend in the semi-finals of the Champions League is great but playing against him is a disadvantage because he's a great player and a big danger." Madrid are expected to be boosted by the return of star forward Karim Benzema and Carvajal feels his comeback could shift the tie in his side's favour. "Karim brings us a lot of things. I hope he can get to the game on Wednesday and do his bit, which is always important." Carvajal also called upon the Santiago Bernabeu faithful to get behind the team to give them extra motivation to reach the Berlin showpiece. "We will feel the breath of the fans; they'll be our 12th man."

Tevez set for Juve offer May 11, 2015 Juventus are set to offer Carlos Tevez a one-year contract extension to end rumours of a return to Boca Juniors. The 31-year-old has openly expressed his desire to return to his home club, but the Bianconeri are keen to hold on to Serie A’s top scorer who has scored 20 league goals this season. La giornalaccio rosa dello Sport has reported that Tevez requested a three-year contract from Boca to leave this summer, but the Buenos Aires club have only offered a one-year deal. The Bianconeri have now apparently responded to this development by proposing a one-year contract extension for the striker, taking his deal to June 2017. It is believed that the Old Lady hierarchy are willing to fork out €5m plus bonuses to keep the Argentina international in Turin. The giornalaccio rosa also reiterate reports that Juve are closing in on an initial €32m deal for Palermo’s Paulo Dybala.

REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS - Semi-final - 2nd leg Wednesday, May 13th, 2015 - 08:45 P.M. Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Lippi: ‘I see myself in Allegri’ May 11, 2015 Former Juventus and Italy Coach Marcello Lippi believes he has a lot in common with current Bianconeri boss Massimiliano Allegri. Speaking to Radio Rai, Lippi explained their similarities and why he has been impressed by what Allegri has achieved in his first season on the Old Lady bench. “I see myself in Allegri,” the 2006 World Cup-winner has commented. “We both got a job at a big team at about the same age and we both won the Scudetto at the first attempt. “We are united by certain concreteness, we both paid our dues. He soaked up everything he could on the tactical level and put it in his teams. “I really like the wisdom with which he has approached this season. He hasn’t taken anything out of the team, he’s just added something to it.” Juventus travel to Madrid for the second leg of their Champions League semi-final with Real Madrid on Wednesday and Lippi is confident they will progress. “They have many international players. Gigi Buffon, Andrea Pirlo, Andrea Barzagli, Claudio Marchisio, Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini - these players have international experience. “In front of 90,000 people there will certainly be difficult moments, but the Juventus players have the characteristics to deal with this kind of match. Real will be unbalanced and Juventus can exploit these spaces.” Lippi was asked what advice should be given to the players before such a crucial match. “Enjoy yourselves. You do not say anything. “Before a final and after so many victories, the attitude of the players has changed to such an extent that the strength of conviction has changed completely. “The conviction of Juve is distinctly different than earlier in the season.”

REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS - Semi-final - 2nd leg Wednesday, May 13th, 2015 - 08:45 P.M. Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Lichtsteiner: More to Madrid than Ronaldo The Switzerland international has warned his team-mates that paying too much attention to the 30-year-old could cost them a spot in the Champions League final. May 11, 2015 Juventus defender Stephan Lichsteiner says he has more to worry about ahead of Wednesday's Champions League game than just Cristiano Ronaldo. The Bianconeri hold a 2-1 lead from the first leg of their semi-final, with strikes from Alvaro Morata and Carlos Tevez giving the Serie A champions the win. However, Ronaldo netted a potentially crucial away goal and the Switzerland international, who has the unenviable task of facing the 30-year-old at the Bernabeu, feels a number of Madrid players pose a threat. "The game will come down to small details," he told Juve's official television channel. "We have a team. Two years ago, we were eliminated in the quarter-finals against Bayern Munich and they won the Champions League. "It's all about the minor details - winning a little and losing a little. We have improved with every game. "Real Madrid are very strong, not just Ronaldo. We have to prepare well but we have to believe we can do it. "We had a great match in the first leg, but the return leg is still to come and it'll be very difficult. We have to play well, but we are prepared."

Man City to make Paul Pogba the highest paid midfielder in the world? City to offer Juve star record deal? May 9, 2015 Mino Raiola will have the luxury of advising his client Paul Pogba which multimillion-pound deal is the best fit for him this summer, and the agent will be rubbing his hands with glee given various reports in the British media that the Juventus star may soon become the best paid midfielder in the world. The papers claim that Manchester City are eager to beat the likes of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and rivals Manchester United to the France international's signature, and will offer him an astronomical £250,000-a-week contract -- after tax -- in order to blow their competition out of the water. According to the Mirror, City have lined up a deal worth £12.5 million-a-year net. Which comes out at around £385,000 a week before tax. Simply stunning. Such a deal inevitably raises questions about the state of the modern game, but Pogba would be worth the wages and then some if he restores City to the top of the Premier League and helps them realise their potential in the Champions League.

REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS - Semi-final - 2nd leg Wednesday, May 13th, 2015 - 08:45 P.M. Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Allegri: Juventus need near-perfection to beat Real Madrid The Bianconeri coach feels that Wednesday's match at the Santiago Bernabeu is the biggest in which his side have been involved in 12 years but says that they can progress. May 10, 2015 Juventus need to produce an "almost-perfect" performance to progress past Real Madrid and reach a first Champions League final in 12 years, according to coach Massimiliano Allegri. The Serie A champions head to the Spanish capital on Wednesday leading 2-1 from the first leg of their semi-final. A 2-2 home draw with Valencia on Saturday looks to have ended Madrid's title challenge in La Liga, as leaders Barcelona stretched their lead to four points with two games remaining, giving extra significance to their clash with Juve. Allegri is confident that his side can put in a great performance against Carlo Ancelotti's men and make a shock appearance in the final in Berlin. "We have to focus and treat it as it's the most important game of the year," he told the press. "We have to try to secure qualification in Madrid - that won't be easy, for sure, but it could also take us to an unexpected final. "Juventus are having a good spell from a physical point of view. "The club hasn't played a game of this importance for 12 years but I believe we now have the experience and confidence to play well at this level. "On Wednesday we will need to deliver a performance that is almost perfect. I won't say perfect because that is impossible in football but, for sure, we'll need our best performance to go through."

REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS - Semi-final - 2nd leg Wednesday, May 13th, 2015 - 08:45 P.M. Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Kroos passed fit for Juventus clash The midfielder picked up a back injury in the 2-2 draw with Valencia on Saturday but has been given the all clear after a medical examination on Sunday. May 10, 2015 Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has been passed fit to face Juventus on Wednesday following an injury scare. The midfielder was substituted 25 minutes into the first half of the Blancos' 2-2 draw with Valencia on Saturday with a back problem, sparking fears he would join Luka Modric on the Santiago Bernabeu sidelines. Kroos' absence would have given Carlo Ancelotti a major midfield headache ahead of the second leg of his side's Champions League semi-final, but Goal understands a medical examination on Sunday cleared the Germany international to feature against the Scudetto holders. The 25-year-old tried to extinguish lingering injury concerns by thanking fans for encouraging comments and telling his Twitter followers "don't worry, let's focus on Wednesday" after his check-up. It will be all the more important for Madrid that Kroos is fit after the reigning European champions blew their chance of catching Barcelona in the Liga title race by dropping points at home to Valencia. The club trail Juventus 2-1 following the first leg of their Champions League tie last week, in what is their only remaining hope of winning silverware this season.

REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS - Semi-final - 2nd leg Wednesday, May 13th, 2015 - 08:45 P.M. Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Toni Kroos tells fans not to worry after injury May 10, 2015 Toni Kroos has played down fears that he could miss Real Madrid's Champions League semifinal second leg against Juventus at the Bernabeu on Wednesday after suffering an injury in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Valencia. Germany international Kroos was substituted after 25 minutes, leaving the pitch appearing to hold his thigh, and was replaced by Asier Illarramendi. But he wrote: "Thank you for your kind messages! I've just been through the examination. Don't worry. Let's focus on Wednesday!" Real -- whose home stalemate with Valencia means Barcelona need one win from their two remaining games to secure the Primera Division title -- are 2-1 down to Juventus after the first leg in Turin. The Champions League holders could replace Kroos with Asier Illarramendi or Lucas Silva against the Serie A winners should he be unable to play.

REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS - Semi-final - 2nd leg Wednesday, May 13th, 2015 - 08:45 P.M. Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Barzagli: 'Juve dreams come true' May 10, 2015 Andrea Barzagli urged Juventus to ignore Toni Kroos and Real Madrid injury news. “Our dreams can come true.” The first leg ended 2-1 in Turin and the decider of the Champions League semi-final is on Wednesday night. “We are very concentrated for the game and aware of its importance. The idea is to play for the win at the Bernabeu,” insisted Barzagli. The Merengues will be even more determined to succeed after a 2-2 draw with Valencia last night severely dented their Liga hopes. Kroos also limped off early on and will undergo tests today. “We all know Real Madrid will throw everything into it anyway, as it’s a Champions League semi-final. “We’ll see if Kroos is able to play or not, but the most important thing is that we need a great performance to qualify.” Paul Pogba made his comeback after 52 days, scoring in the 1-1 draw with Cagliari. “I saw him in the same shape as he usually is. He’s such a young lad with such physical strength that he doesn’t need much time to find his feet after two months out. It was an important test of his fitness, then the Coach will decide. “It would be fantastic to reach the Champions League Final, especially as so few even expected Juventus to reach the final four. We are there and we hope our dreams can come true. “Juve proved that we belong up there with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. We might not have as many superstar players as them, but the team has its merits and we deserve to be there.”

REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS - Semi-final - 2nd leg Wednesday, May 13th, 2015 - 08:45 P.M. Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Pepe demands Juventus response May 10, 2015 Pepe has urged his Real Madrid teammates to bounce back from Saturday's costly draw with Valencia and focus on knocking Juventus out of the Champions League next week. Los Blancos' La Liga bid suffered potentially irreversible damage in the 2-2 draw at the Bernabeu - a setback that leaves them four points behind Barcelona with two games to play this season. Carlo Ancelotti's side welcome Juve to Madrid on Wednesday hoping to overhaul a 2-1 first-leg deficit en route to booking their place in the final. Pepe and Isco netted last night as the hosts cancelled out Los Che's two-goal lead, and the Portuguese defender is confident of beating the Italian giants if they can reproduce their second-half display. "We didn't start the match well, but we had a great second half," he told reporters afterwards. "If we play well against Juve, we'll beat them. La Liga is difficult now, but we must sweat for the jersey." Paco Alcacer and Javi Fuego had fired the visitors into a 2-0 half-time lead on Saturday, with Cristiano Ronaldo missing a penalty moments before the break.
