  3. JUVENTUS - ATALANTA May 5, 2014 - 9:00 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee:‬ Andrea De Marco HT 0-0: Juve party still goalless May 5, 2014 Juventus and Atalanta both had chances, but at the break the Scudetto party is still goalless in Turin. This was one huge party, as on Sunday afternoon Roma lost 4-1 at Catania, mathematically handing the third consecutive Serie A title to Juve. Atalanta were also in a mood to celebrate, having secured their safety with mid-table comfort, welcoming back Maxi Moralez from injury. Antonio Conte fielded an all-new line-up to ensure everyone got in on the festivities. Sebastian Giovinco drilled just wide from distance, while Angelo Ogbonna charged down a German Denis effort in the box. Giovinco and Daniel Osvaldo blasted more attempts just off target, but Giacomo Bonaventura burst into the box and was only stopped by a last-ditch and extremely risky Stephan Lichtsteiner tackle. An Osvaldo looping header was palmed out from under the bar and from the resulting corner Ogbonna nodded over. Marco Storari smothered a Daniele Baselli effort, while Denis at full stretch just failed to get on the end of a Maxi Moralez cross to the back post. 4. Marotta drops Juve transfer hint May 5, 2014 Juventus director Beppe Marotta confessed “one signing will arrive from Ligue 1, the Liga or Premier League.” The general manager spoke to Sky Sport Italia ahead of the Scudetto celebrations in tonight’s game with Atalanta. He was asked whether the Bianconeri had made a bid for Atalanta midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura, who is also wanted by Fiorentina. “Bonaventura is a complete player who has grown a great deal in recent years, but we do not have any agreement with him,” replied Marotta. “We are still looking for players who are tactically versatile and can take different roles. I can say one signing will arrive from Ligue 1, the Liga or the Premier League.” Marotta refused to name names, but was asked about recent meetings with Real Madrid President Florentino Perez. “He asked me for many more players than I asked him.” This nonetheless confirms Juventus have requested some Real Madrid players and vice versa.

  9. JUVENTUS - ATALANTA May 5, 2014 - 9:00 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee:‬ Andrea De Marco Line-ups: Juventus-Atalanta May 5, 2014 Juventus host Atalanta for their Scudetto celebrations with a real party atmosphere in Turin tonight. It kicks off at 21.00 CET. The Bianconeri already had a preliminary party on Sunday afternoon, as Roma’s 4-1 defeat to Catania mathematically handed them the third consecutive Scudetto. Atalanta are already safe from the threat of relegation and comfortable in mid-table, so both sides can play without worrying about the result. The crowd is ready to be entertained and the Serie A trophy will be presented to the team after the game. It is also the chance to put the bitterness of last week’s Europa League semi-final elimination to Benfica behind them, as Juve hadn’t won three Scudetti on the bounce since the 1930s. Atalanta are without midfield string-puller Luca Cigarini due to suspension, while ‘bad boy’ striker Marko Livaja is in Croatia, as he was frozen out after abusing Atalanta fans on Facebook, the latest of several unsavoury incidents in his brief career. German Denis leads the attack with Giacomo Bonaventura, who has been linked with summer moves to Juventus or Fiorentina, and the returning Maxi Moralez. Atalanta have not beaten Juve in Serie A since 2001, while their last away victory was 1-0 in October 1989. JUVENTUS: Storari; Barzagli, Ogbonna, Chiellini; Lichtsteiner, Padoin, Marchisio, Pogba, Peluso; Osvaldo, Giovinco Juventus bench: Buffon, Rubinho, Isla, Caceres, Bonucci, Pepe, Pirlo, Vidal, Asamoah, Tevez, Llorente, Quagliarella ATALANTA: Consigli; Bellini, Lucchini, Yepes, Brivio; Raimondi, Carmona, Baselli, Bonaventura; Maxi Moralez; Denis http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  10. 'Don't think about money' - Nedved warns Pogba The midfielder has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain recently but his current employers are keen to ensure he remains at the club. May 5, 2014 Juventus team manager Pavel Nedved has warned Paul Pogba against having his head turned by the financial riches on offer at other clubs and instead focus on his growth as a player. The midfielder was linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain in January and reports continue to suggest the Ligue 1 champions are keen on securing his signature this summer. However, Nedved believes Pogba will develop better as a player if he remains with the Bianconeri for the foreseeable future. He said: "I think it would be better for his career to remain with Juventus. We want to keep him for as long as possible. "I spoke with the player and not his agent Raiola. I told him to think about his growth as a player and not money." Nedved then revealed the club will sit down with coach Antonio Conte this week and thrash out the details of a new contract after lifting their third straight Serie A title on Monday. "In the coming days there will be a meeting to discuss a renewal of his contract. We want him to stay and we are working harder to improve this team even further."
  11. JUVENTUS - ATALANTA May 5, 2014 - 9:00 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee:‬ Andrea De Marco Juventus-Atalanta Betting Preview: Conte's champions to celebrate another Scudetto in style Having been handed a third consecutive Serie A title over the weekend thanks to Roma's defeat at Catania, the hosts will be able to play without any pressure against La Dea. May 5, 2014 Juventus can put last week's heart-breaking Europa League exit behind them by lifting a third consecutive Scudetto when they take on Atalanta on Monday. Roma's shock 4-1 defeat away to lowly Catania on Sunday handed Antonio Conte's men the title without them even kicking a ball and they are overwhelming 1/7 (1.14) favourites with William Hill to celebrate that success with an 18th win from 18 Serie A home games. With mid-table obscurity secured and nothing left to play for this season, the visitors are 20/1 (21.00) outsiders to pick up a first win in five against a team they have not beaten in 10 years. The Bianconeri saw their dreams of a European final on home turf dashed after being held to a 0-0 draw by Benfica last Thursday, and you can get odds of 6/1 (7.00) on another stalemate taking place. While that frustrating 2-1 aggregate defeat does little to dispel the question marks surrounding Conte's credentials in European competition, it is impossible to doubt his record in Italy. The feisty coach's competitive nature has seen turned the champions into a relentless winning machine in Serie A, where they look set to break all previous records by becoming the first ever team to rack up over 100 points. With just seven points required from the last three games in order to make history, Conte is bound to have his team firing on all cylinders as they look to bounce back from their Europa League disappointment, in contrast their opponents. Despite trainer Stefano Colantuono's protestations, La Dea seem to have all but given up as they meander toward the finishing line, and their should pose little threat to a home defence that has conceded just nine in 17 games in front of their own fans. Considering only struggling Cagliari, Bologna and Catania have scored fewer than Atalanta's 14 goals on the road this season, odds of 17/20 (1.85) look too good to pass up on Juventus winning to nil for the 11th time in 14 home games this campaign. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  12. Roma frightened Juventus in Scudetto race, admits Buffon The experienced goalkeeper says he has been "truly impresseed" by Rudi Garcia's men and thanked them for bring the best out of the Bianconeri. May 5, 2014 Gianluigi Buffon has expressed his gratitude to Roma for pushing Juventus to reach ever greater heights this season. The Bianconeri were crowned Serie A champions on Sunday following the Giallorossi 's 4-1 defeat at Catania, yet the Italy international says that that shock defeat should not detract from what has been a remarkable season for Rudi Garcia's men, who finished seventh last year. "In general, all of Italian football should thank Roma for the way they played this season and kept the title race alive," Buffon told Mediaset Premium. "On many occasions this term they truly impressed me. "We weren't certain we could achieve our targets because they were so strong and confident that it frightened us, so I think the credit goes to them for pushing everyone harder." Buffon, a five-time league champion with Juventus, said he preferred to earn points to win the title, but was delighted to have claimed the crown nonetheless. "It is the second time I've won a Scudetto without playing, as it happened about 10 years ago. It’s different, a special sensation, but still wonderful. "Of course I prefer the satisfaction of winning on the field, that moment the whistle blows and you have given everything you’ve got, both physical and psychological." The Juve captain then went on to reveal that the 1-0 win over Genoa on March 16, when Andrea Pirlo struck with a late free kick, was the moment when he believed that the title was on its way to Turin once again. "We had gone through so many scares in that game and Genoa probably deserved more, but we managed to bring out that Pirlo free-kick from nowhere that gave us confidence," he explained. "We knew that we could push forward and put our hands on the Scudetto."
  13. Nedved: 'Juve best for Pogba' May 5, 2014 Pavel Nedved urged agent Mino Raiola to leave Paul Pogba at Juventus for his own good. “He mustn’t think about money.” The midfielder is in the middle of contract renegotiation talks, as Juve have offered an extension until June 2018 and the French talent is considering his options. “I spoke to Raiola, he mustn’t think about money but rather focus on what is best for the career growth of the player,” said Bianconeri director Nedved. “The best thing for Pogba would be to stay at Juventus.” Pogba is said to be worth upwards of €70m and wanted by Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, Barcelona and more. Nedved also commented on contract talks with Coach Antonio Conte amid rumours of an imminent split. “He has a year left on his contract and certainly over the next few days he’ll speak to the President. Then they will be the ones to decide.”
  14. Agnelli: No third star May 5, 2014 Juventus President Andrea Agnelli says the club will not be adding a third star to their shirts next season. The Old Lady clinched what is officially their 30th Scudetto yesterday following Roma’s defeat to Catania. It is tradition for a team to add an extra star to the top of their badge for each ten League titles they win. However, the head of the Bianconeri says the club will not acknowledge the milestone, seeing as in their eyes they have already won 32. “We have written a page in the history of Juventus,” Agnelli said today at a Press conference. “That is to the credit of the Coach, the players and my colleagues. “There will be no third star because, in our eyes, we have won 32 Scudetti even though the official records say we have only won 30. “From today we are allowed to choose when to put the star on. When other teams manage to add the second star, we will add the third to show the difference between us and them. “Failure in Europe? I’ve heard people talking about Bayern failing too but at the start of the season there were around 100 teams who were signed up for the Champions League. “So you can say that 98 of the teams failed as none of them managed to reach the final.”
  15. Agnelli discusses UNESCO partnership May 5, 2014 The Presidents of Juventus and Real Madrid today held a Press conference to confirm their UNESCO Cup meeting on 2nd June. The fixture will take place at Juventus Stadium, with teams comprising legends of both clubs set to lock horns. The proceeds from the match will go towards UNESCO’s initiative for the social reintegration of child soldiers forced into combat in the conflicts in Mali and Central African Republic. “I need to sincerely thank President Perez for being here,” Old Lady chief Andrea Agnelli said at the media briefing today. “It shows the importance of this match. I also thank Eric Falt, vice-director of UNESCO, with whom we have recently launched a relationship. “Thanking President Perez and Real Madrid for being here today is the least we can do, especially because it is thanks to them that we are part of the initiative. “Just over a year ago they asked us to play in the Corazon Classic Match, at their stadium. It’s from there that that idea of the Juventus Legends began. “I thank some of the great ex-players who are here today, Gianluca Pessotto, Pavel Nedved, Fernando Hierro, Emilio Butragueno and Edgar Davids, who will grace this match. “This will be the first UNESCO Cup, but it is our intention that this will become an annual thing that would enable the initiative to develop. “Today’s issues, like social integration and the fight against racism, are issues that need to be prioritised by UEFA. “But they should also be prioritised by educational bodies. That is to say everyone should be educated about this type of thing. “Examples are there in front of us all the time. We have recently seen the incident which has gone global since, the throwing of a banana onto the pitch in Spain. “We also saw what happened in America [with the behaviour of the owner of the LA Clippers]. “And, just this last Saturday, we saw the unacceptable events that took place before the Coppa Italia final. “Today with UNESCO we are not just presenting the project of the UNESCO Cup, which will do a great favour to the children of Mali and Central African Republic. “We also want a project of collaboration with UNESCO that, over the next 18 months, will have the main objective of producing a report that will hopefully help to bridge the cultural gap that divides top European sporting organisations and their audiences. “We want real evolution.”
  16. Juve: Pogba out, Madrid trio in? May 5, 2014 Juventus could be tempted into selling Paul Pogba to Real Madrid, but only if they receive up to three of their players. Corriere dello Sport report this morning that the Bianconeri may be open to letting the France international leave the club, if they can prize away a number of Los Blancos’ stars in return. Pogba has been heavily linked with a switch away from Turin over the past few months, with Real assistant Zinedine Zidane insistent that his side get the midfielder. Antonio Conte’s men have always been reticent to let one of their best players leave, but the paper believes that a possible deal could be struck. They suggest that Fabio Coentrao, Alvaro Morata and Angel Di Maria could leave Santiago Bernabeu for the Old Lady. All three of those names have been rumoured to be on their way out of the Spanish capital.
  17. Agnelli: We've written history May 5, 2014 Andrea Agnelli has admitted his pride after Juventus claimed their third successive Scudetto on Sunday. Catania’s 4-1 win over Roma at the weekend confirmed the Bianconeri’s 30th official title, with the capital club now eight points behind with just two matches remaining. And the Turin outfit’s President has thanked everyone at the club and the supporters after they clinched the trophy. “I am very proud of all the men and women of Juventus,” he briefly told Tuttosport. “We have written a great page in the game’s history. “We will fight until the end.” Juve have three matches to go until the end of the campaign, starting on Monday against Atalanta. Antonio Conte’s men will now hope to break the 100-point barrier, as they currently sit on 93 points.
