  7. Media attacks against Chiellini are excessive, says agent The Italy international has been struggling to find his best form, but his brother feels that the criticism aimed at the defender is over the top. Oct 24, 2011 Claudio Chiellini, the brother and agent of Juventus defender Giorgio, has admitted that his client has made some mistakes this season, but feels that he doesn't deserve the harsh treatment he gets in the press. Chiellini has received his fair share of criticism following some disappointing performances and he again failed to impress in Juventus' 2-2 Serie A draw against Genoa last weekend. "It is true that he has made some mistakes this season, but people act like Juventus' problem is Giorgio Chiellini," Claudio said to Tuttosport. "The media attacks are excessive in my opinion. It looks like they're after a scapegoat after every disappointing result. Giorgio doesn't deserve this treatment. He has done a lot for Juventus in the last six years and was the best defender in Italy for three seasons. "These are pretty unfortunate episodes though, as it seems as if every minor mistake he makes results in a goal at the moment." Chiellini has made 177 league appearances for Juventus since joining the club from Livorno in 2004.
  8. Trio have Juve role to play Oct 24, 2011 Juventus insist that Alessandro Del Piero, Milos Krasic and Giorgio Chiellini all have a key part to play in 2011-12. Del Piero was only used as a very late substitute on Saturday against Genoa at the end of a week when it was announced that this would be his last season as a player in Turin. Krasic and Chiellini, meanwhile, have struggled to perform with any sort of consistency under new boss Antonio Conte so far.

  10. Giuseppe Marotta aiming for top three finish in Serie A The Turin side's general director feels that Champions League qualification would be a realistic target for Antonio Conte's men. Oct 24, 2011 Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta has told Tuttosport that he has targeted a top three finish after the club's strong start to the Serie A season. Despite drawing 2-2 with Genoa on Saturday, the Turin giants sit third in the table, two points behind leaders Udinese. And although many have touted Antonio Conte's men as potential title winners, Moratta feels that Champions League qualification should be the target. "The word Scudetto is part of the Juventus lexicon, so it is always a goal. The target is to finish in the top three, so that we may fight for something important. In each game we go out to win. "Conte arrived this year, along with many new players. The boss's work is initiated with different tactics and it takes time to mix a new group," Marotta said.

Romeo‎ Attendance: 42000‎ Claudio Marchisio: We have to be more clinical in front of goal The Italy international has voiced his opinion that the Turin giants must improve their finishing if they are to be successful this season following their tie versus Genoa. Oct 23, 2011 Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio has stressed that the Turin side will have to be more clinical in front of goal if they are to fight for the title this term. The Serie A table toppers went ahead twice in their 2-2 home draw versus Genoa on Saturday, but they failed to put the match to bed before Andrea Caracciolo scored an 85th minute equaliser to snatch a share of the spoils. And Marchisio insists that they have to learn to finish games off when they are in the lead. "We can't go in front and then sit back hoping that the game will come to an end, like we did this evening. Instead we need to be more clinical and put the game beyond doubt," he was quoted as saying on the club's official website. "We had our opportunities to score: I
