Buffon's future has come under scrutiny following a poor season which left the Old Lady without European football. The 33-year-old has been linked with Roma, and while his agent Silvano Martina said he was happy at Juventus on Friday, he added that a great offer would be hard to refuse. However, the shot-stopper has looked to set the record straight, by noting that he remains tied to the club. "Will I leave? The same things are always being said, but I have a contract with Juventus," he told the press. Buffon's current agreement at the club he joined from Parma in 2001 runs until the summer of 2013.

Non è mai facile trovare le parole in questi momenti, quando finiscono legami e storie che nel tempo (in questi strepitosi otto anni) hanno scritto pagine indimenticabili. La frase che sorge spontanea ad ogni tifoso juventino è: GRAZIE DI TUTTO. Grazie per tutte le emozioni che hai contribuito a farci vivere in questo periodo. Sarebbe facile, troppo facile, limitarsi ad elencare uno per uno tutti i successi che la tua Juve ha conquistato nei due diversi cicli. Ricordare ogni scudetto, ogni trofeo ed ogni vittoria. Preferiamo invece ricordare alcune delle tanti incredibili sensazioni vissute nell’ultimo decennio. La vittoria in rimonta contro la Fiorentina nel 1994 od il primo scudetto dopo l’ennesimo duello con il Parma, il trionfo in Champions League a Roma contro l’Ajax o l’Intercontinentale di Tokyo con il River Plate, il sorpasso del 5 maggio 2002 od ancora la “partita perfetta” contro il Real Madrid di un anno fa. Momenti indelebili che hanno reso ancora più orgoglioso ogni tifoso bianconero. Sei arrivato dieci anni fa, proprio in questo periodo. Al termine di una stagione che aveva allungato ancora il digiuno bianconero di successi tricolore. Sei giunto a Torino chiamato da una nuova dirigenza che come te aveva tanta voglia di fare grande la Juventus ed insieme ad un gruppo di ragazzi motivati ed affamati di vittorie. Hai contribuito a forgiare un gruppo solido che nel giro di pochi messi ha iniziato a far vedere cose egregie. Che spettacolo la tua prima Juve! Quella targata 1994/95. Quella dei Vialli e dei Baggio, dei Ravanelli e dei Peruzzi, ma anche dei Conte, Ferrara, Del Piero e Tacchinardi, ragazzi che ti hanno sempre accompagnato in tutti questi anni. Una Juve convinta, spettacolare e cinica, fantasiosa e potente al tempo stesso. Un mix perfetto che in appena due stagioni e mezzo ha fatto issare la bandiera bianconera in cima all’Italia, all’Europa ed al Mondo. Una squadra capace di entrare in ogni stadio a testa alta, pronta ad imporre con personalità il proprio gioco, riuscendo spesso ad essere più forte di tutto e tutti. Un primo ciclo formidabile durato oltre quattro anni e mezzo, prima di interrompersi in maniera quasi improvvisa. Non proprio il modo più bello per spezzare un sogno splendido. Non proprio il lieto fine per una favola scritta anno dopo anno, partita dopo partita. Ed infatti la storia non è finita quel brutto giorno del febbraio 1999, quando hai deciso di lasciare la società che hai contribuito a far tornare grande. Una pausa di una trentina di mesi e poi, quasi d’incanto, tutto è tornato alla normalità. La Juve, che per due stagioni consecutive si vede stoppata ad un passo dal traguardo, ti richiama al timone. E la favola riprende. Nel maggio 2001 i giornali annunciano «Lippi torna sulla panchina bianconera». L’arte della critica prova anche ad ironizzare, parlando senza mezzi termini di minestra riscaldata. Il primo a credere proprio il contrario è una persona a cui tu Marcello, ma in generale tutto il popolo bianconero, è molto legato: l’Avvocato Agnelli. Ed ancora una volta il primo tifoso vede bene e la scelta fatta dalla dirigenza di richiamare il tecnico delle ultime vittorie è quella giusta. La “Juve due” non cerca vendette e riscatti. Cerca invece certezze e consapevolezza della propria forza. Ritrovate un passo alla volta e suggellate con l’indimenticabile pomeriggio di domenica 5 maggio, una data entrata di diritto nella storia della “Vecchia Signora”. Tu ed i tuoi ragazzi in corsa fino all’ultimo giro, con caparbietà, e sul traguardo ecco lo scherzo tirato all’Inter. Quella stessa Inter in cui hai trascorso parte del periodo di lontananza da Torino. L’anno dopo il bis in campionato. Lo scudetto numero 27, da dedicare proprio all’Avvocato (ed a Vittorio Chiusano) scomparso nel gennaio 2003, prima di poter vedere esaudito il sogno della terza stella sulla maglia bianconera. Ma è in Europa che riviviamo le emozioni più intense. Torniamo a vincere lontano da Torino (succede a Kyiv), ma soprattutto assistiamo ad una serie di imprese d’altri tempi, soprattutto contro le temibili rivali spagnole: il successo all’ultimo secondo sul Deportivo, il colpaccio al Camp Nou contro il Barcellona ed il trionfo con il Real Madrid, in quella che molti hanno definito la partita perfetta. Più semplicemente quella che tutti i sostenitori juventini non dimenticheranno mai. Un altro ciclo vincente, realizzato grazie a tanti ragazzi che già avevano fatto grande la tua prima Juve ed altri che, man mano negli anni, sono stati inseriti nel meccanismo. E che tu hai aiutato a far crescere o ad esplodere, magari con l’ausilio di qualche accorgimento tattico. Al Pallone d’Oro conquistato recentemente da Pavel Nedved ha contribuito in maniera determinante la posizione di trequartista dietro le punte che hai disegnato per lui. Così come l’ultima ottima annata vissuta da Gianluca Zambrotta è frutto soprattutto della posizione di esterno sinistro difensivo. Un’annata invece non altrettanto indimenticabile per tutta la Juventus. Una stagione in cui la dea bendata ti ha spesso voltato le spalle, in particolare nel momento topico, affrontato con gli uomini contati. Nonostante tutto sono arrivati un terzo posto in campionato, con un bottino di punti appena inferiore a quello che dodici mesi prima aveva permesso la conquista del titolo, una finale di Coppa Italia e, per chi se lo fosse dimenticato, una Supercoppa Italiana, conquistata a spese del Milan Campione d’Europa in carica. Traguardi che forse in altre piazze sarebbero festeggiati a lungo. Non così in una società come la Juventus. Forse anche per questo hai deciso di lasciarci. E lo hai fatto con la dignità che ti ha sempre contraddistinto in questi splendidi anni. Durante la conferenza stampa in cui hai annunciato la tua decisione, hai detto al mondo «Non saranno certo questi ultimi mesi a farmi dimenticare quanto questa squadra ha fatto nel corso di questi due cicli, questa è una favola che resterà sempre nel mio cuore». E tra i primi a capirlo ci sono stati proprio i tifosi bianconeri. L’applauso del Delle Alpi ed il tuo giro di campo al termine della gara contro la Sampdoria rimarranno nella memoria di tutti. Ora sì che possiamo dire con tranquillità: la favola ha avuto il suo meritato finale. Cosa possiamo ancora dirti, caro Marcello, se non un altro GRAZIE e salutarti con affetto. No, non ti diciamo addio. Se la tua strada e quella della Juventus torneranno ad incrociarsi, sarà solo il destino a dircelo. Chi lo sa, magari un domani ci sarà anche un “Lippi tre”, forse con altri incarichi diversi dalla panchina. Intanto ti diciamo un arrivederci. Prima di lasciarci hai dichiarato ancora «Io resterò per sempre un grandissimo tifoso di questa squadra e mi vedrete tante volte in tribuna a tifare e gioire con questa squadra». Allora a presto, al Delle Alpi, magari in compagnia di Lorenzo che in questi mesi è diventato forse il nipote più famoso d’Italia. Un nipote a cui nonno Marcello ama raccontare soprattutto una favola. Quella di Lippi alla Juventus.
