Del Neri: Selling Keeper Gianluigi Buffon Would Be Idiocy Luigi Del Neri has highlighted just how important Buffon is to Juventus with the transfer window approaching. Dec 27, 2010 Juventus coach Luigi Del Neri has issued a 'hands off' warning over experienced goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon before the January transfer window. Buffon is set to return from injury in the new year and his coach has attempted to prevent vultures from swooping in, with the likes of Manchester United reportedly interested in the Italian international. "You can't talk about great champions without the risk of being incorrectly interpreted. People want to create controversy, saying that I do not think Bufffon is the best. But I am not crazy. In the past 10 years Buffon has taught coaches how to coach goalkeepers," Del Neri told La Stampa. "How can I put his status under question? As for the idea of selling him, that would be pure idiocy. He is a real treasure for the club," the coach concluded.

Claudio Marchisio: I Could Never Wear An Inter Jersey Juventus midfielder admits he can't picture himself in an Inter shirt... Dec 27, 2010 Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio has compared himself to former club hero Pavel Nedved, claiming that he could not see himself playing for rivals Inter either. The 24-year-old is in the midst of contract negotiations with the Turin giants and the Nerazzurri have reportedly swooped in and offered him a better deal. "Inter? I am like Nedved, I don't see myself with the Nerazzurri, with that shirt," Marchisio told Il Giorno. "I know that there was some contact. I was pleased that a team that had won everything had asked about me. But now I am thinking only of Juve and I hope to renew my contract soon, I want to stay in Turin for life." The former Empoli player is confident that the Bianconeri can pick up some silverware this season, despite being eliminated from the Europa League in the group stage. "We want to win something at the end of the season, there is the Scudetto and the Coppa Italia and we'll do everything to reach these goals," he added.

Giorgio Chiellini Eager For Juventus To Keep On Improving In 2011 Juventus defender is hoping for a strong second-half of the season, maturing as a side together. Dec 26, 2010 Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini has seen a strong willingness from his team-mates to improve and hopes it can continue in 2011. The stopper is also hoping that the team can claim a trophy at the end of the season, as a just reward for all their hard work. "The first few months of 2010 did not go like we hoped, and there were a few problems," the Italian international told the club's official website. "Now, we have the willingness to do well . "We have had the odd problems during this new season, but it is normal after a raft of changes. With the months passing, we have found an equilibrium and things are now on the right path. "All we can do is now continue like this, growing and maturing match after match. "Individually, I hope to continue having fun and becoming an even more important player for the Bianconeri and Italy. I also hope that we can finally win a trophy as well," he concluded. The Turin giants sit in fourth place on the table, five points off leaders Milan.

Gianluigi Buffon: I Can Play Until I'm 45 Gianluigi Buffon has promised a long and refulgent career at Juventus as he puts issues which came to the fore into the background... Dec 23, 2010 Gianluigi Buffon insists he is at Juventus for the long haul and believes he can play on for at least another decade. The 32-year-old goalkeeper is expected to return from injury in January as his recovery from back surgery remains on course. And, despite concerns about his future - recent reports prefigure a Premier League move - Buffon will remain loyal to Juventus. "From what I have seen around I can play on until I am 45," he told Il Corriere della Sera. "Juventus? In July I never thought we could achieve these results in such short time, but I have been proved wrong and I am happy. "I hope to be back 100 percent so I can be ready for new battles. I have no fear as I can return to being how I was. "Del Neri? I had clear-the-air talks with the coach and I believe in him. There has always been transparency and honest and Andrea Agnelli told me he wants me back between the sticks soon."

Calciopoli 2006 Is No Longer Credible - Paolo Bergamo Former referee designator has said the Calciopoli 2006 trial was based on flaws... Dec 22, 2010 Calciopoli 2006 - the sports trial which saw Juventus stripped of two titles and sent to Serie B - is not credible according to former referee designator Paolo Bergamo. The former ref chief claims prosecutors four years ago never took note of his statements when he told them of the contacts he had with clubs and individuals. Bergamo was at FIGC headquarters when he was questioned by federal prosecutor Stefano Pallazzi over the 2006 proceedings in relation to their own investigation into evidence which is again being used at the current trial in Naples. "I have the maximum spirit to collaborate, I hope they believe me now seeing as in 2006 no one wanted to listen to me. The truth is that at the time they held a farcical process," Bergamo told Tuttosport. "I can say with absolute certainty that with the new phone calls which have emerged recently, the theorem that led to the 2006 trial is not credible. "It's sad to speak about these things four years on. I used to speak with everyone. I have always said that I used to speak with Giacinto Facchetti and Massimo Moratti and I did it because the FIGC wanted me to. "I used to speak with everyone regarding the draws for referees, and no one proved in Napoli that the draws with fixed. "As for the dinners... I had dinner with Facchetti first and then Galliani and after with Luciano Moggi and Antonio Giraudo, but only the Juventus guys had their houses surrounded by police." -
Dino Zoff Warns Juventus Not To Sell Gianluigi Buffon Italy legend Dino Zoff has urged Juventus not to sell star goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon. Dec 22, 2010 The 32-year-old has not played a single match this season since suffering a sciatic nerve problem in the 2010 World Cup against Paraguay, but is expected to return to action in the new year. However, there have been rumours that the Bianconeri are happy with Marco Storari and Buffon has been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Zenit St Petersburg. Zoff, who won six Scudetti with the Bianconeri and a World Cup and European Championship with the Azzurri, believes that Buffon is still the best shot-stopper in the world when healthy. "When he is doing well, Gigi has no rivals," he was quoted as saying by calciomercato.it. "Buffon has been affected by injuries, it's normal to believe this has caused some hesitation on the part of Juventus, but I do not think there is any ingratitude toward him or the club. I would think carefully before selling him."

Juventus Want To Win Everything - Leonardo Bonucci Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci wants it all as he eyes a successful 2011... Dec 22, 2010 Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci claims plans to win the Scudetto remain unchanged, but he is aware it will prove to be a difficult test for his side. Juventus stumbled last weekend as they threw away a lead to draw with Chievo, failing to take advantage of Milan's loss at Roma. But the outlook is good. "I want to improve more and win as much as possible," the Italian told Tuttosport. "We must not disappoint the fans, but we will do all we can to give them great satisfactions and fight in every game. "The balance this year is positive and I am happy. Everyday we are working better and the results can be seen."

Juventus Will Be Reinvigorated In 2011 - Giorgio Chiellini Chiellini believes the holiday break will allow the club to play their best in January... Dec 21, 2010 Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini was disappointed to end the year with a 1-1 draw against Chievo Verona after Sergio Pellissier equalised in the dying minutes, but is confident the Bianconeri will be back to their best following the winter break. "The draw against Chievo leaves a bitter taste in our mouths as they equalised in injury time," lamented the former Fiorentina and Livorno player on his official website. "Now we have some time off to recuperate all the energy we used in 2010 and then start up again." The Bianconeri remain a challenger for the Scudetto, sitting in fourth place in the Serie A standings after 17 matches. Chiellini has played a crucial role, earning a place in the Goal.com Serie A Team of the Season.

Gianluigi Buffon Opens Door To Premier League Future Buffon's Juventus future is unclear as he ponders Premier League fascination... Dec 21, 2010 Gianluigi Buffon believes the Premier League could cater for his future as he admits his penchant for English football while staying quiet over his time at Juventus. The Italian international goalkeeper is expected to return from a long injury lay-off in January. Reports have suggested Buffon is still a wanted man in the Premier League - a competition he admires and desires. "The Premier League fascinates me as many great players play there," he told BBC. "I still think Serie A is still the most difficult competition though. "My future? Now is not the time to speak about it."

Calciopoli 2006 Was A Farce As I Spoke With Everyone - Paolo Bergamo Former referee designator, a key figure in the current Calciopoli trial in Naples, believes the 2006 sports trial was flawed... Dec 21, 2010 Paolo Bergamo has put the sword into Calciopoli, claiming it was a flawed process and labelling it a "farce". Bergamo was called by federal prosecutor of the FIGC (Italian FA) Stefano Palazzi on Tuesday to answer questions in relation to the current Calciopoli trial in Naples. The FIGC are looking to open an independent investigation after Juventus asked to have their revoked Scudetti handed back based on evidence which has emerged in Naples. And the former referee designator claims Calciopoli 2006 was far from being impartial. "The Calciopoli 2006 process was not based on solid backing, it was a farce," Bergamo told Palazzi, as reported by Calcionews24.com. "I used to speak with everyone because the FIGC told us to have contacts with everyone and to give them our maximum attention. I am here to help shed light on what really happened. "Inter to have their Scudetto revoked? I don't care." -

Giuseppe Marotta Admits Juventus Are Ready To Pounce In The Transfer Market Juventus sporting director says the Bianconeri are ready to do well in the January transfer market. Dec 19, 2010 Juventus sporting director Giuseppe Marotta says he and the Bianconeri are ready to pounce in the January transfer market. The Turin giants, Marotta revealed, had eight new players on the field against Chievo in their 1-1 draw. The director wasn't interested in someone like Antonio Cassano, who will be joining Milan in the coming weeks. "Cassano to Milan? We are covered in that role. Our project going forward is different to Milan's," the sporting director said to Sky. "Obviously, there are players that exist that are better than us, but in January, we must take advantage of the opoortunities that present to us. "Today, we had eight new players on the field, with two 18-year-olds on the pitch. We deserved to win, but this football. "At the moment, what matters is how the side are playing and not the position on the ladder," he added.
