We will make an offer for Atletico's Sergio Aguero - Giuseppe Marotta

The Juventus director has made it clear that Aguero is the club's primary target

to strengthen their attack but favourable taxation elsewhere might prompt Argentine to snub Turin.

Jul 1, 2011

Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta has stated that the Turin side won't hesitate to spend a large part of their transfer budget on one player if necessary and confirmed that Atletico Madrid's Sergio Aguero is their primary transfer target.

However, Marotta admitted that another club could land the 23-year-old if they make an "economical offer" that can't be matched by the Serie A outfit, claiming that the Argentine could opt to take advantage of the advantageous taxation policy in Spain in comparison to Italy.

"We are ready to spend a large part of our transfer budget on one player, even if other factors like wages then have to be taken into consideration," Marotta said to Tuttosport.

"Aguero, for example, benefits from tax breaks in Spain with Atletico Madrid that he wouldn

Giuseppe Marotta claims 'cautious' summer spending will continue

Juventus director says the addition of new players is likely,

but has urged discretion about getting carried away on the market.

Aug 4, 2011

Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta has said the summer deals will continue, but made it clear that the rest of the transfer window will be approached with caution.

On Thursday morning Goal.com revealed how Juventus were being fiscally responsible in their chase for Fiorentina's Juan Manuel Vargas.

And now Marotta has confirmed the club are still keen on adding players to their squad, but the heavy spending of recent weeks is likely to be curtailed.

"We want to get to our objectives by respecting the ethics and we will not overpay for players we want to buy," Marotta told La Repubblica.

"We want to get to the end of the market with the best squad possible. The coach wants a competitive team and we will try and accommodate this.

"We have our ideas but we have to be cautious and we have to be certain before announcing something."

Juventus are currently at their pre-season training camp and they will play AC Cuneo on Friday afternoon.

Giuseppe Marotta rejects Zenit St Petersburg offer for Bonucci

The Turin side's general director has admitted an offer has come in for the defender

but has turned it down and insisted that the club have no intention of selling the 24-year-old.

Aug 5, 2011

Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta has revealed that Zenit St Petersburg have made a formal bid for Leonardo Bonucci, but added that the Turin side have rejected the offer as they want to keep hold of the defender.

It is thought that the Russian side's coach Luciano Spalletti is keen to link up with his compatriot, with earlier reports suggesting that an

'Juventus will sign two or three more players' - Giuseppe Marotta

Juve director says some more reinforcements are needed as talks continue for Diego Perotti and Emanuele Giaccherini.

Aug 19, 2011

Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta has revealed the club are working on signing more players before the end of the transfer window.

The Italian giants have been linked with Cesena's Emanuele Giaccherini and Sevilla's Diego Perotti as they continue to bolster their squad ahead of the 2011-12 campaign.

And Marotta said the plan is to bring in more reinforcements.

"A minimum of two or three arrivals are expected," Marotta is quoted as saying by Il Corriere dello Sport.

"In terms of the current situation, we are working in harmony with the coach. The club are ready to welcome his ideas and take advantage of any opportunities which may arise.

"We are waiting to see what happens with Perotti. As for Giaccherini, talks are on-going."

Marotta promises more signings

Aug 23, 2011

Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta says the club will sign "at least two new players" before the close of the transfer window.

After finishing seventh in Serie A last season, Juventus have had a busy summer in the transfer market, bringing in the likes of Mirko Vucinic, Andrea Pirlo and Arturo Vidal, but Marotta has revealed their business is far from finished.

"At least two new players will arrive before the transfer window closes, but we could even sign a third," he said.

Cesena forward Emanuele Giaccherini is said to be a target and Marotta, speaking at a Lega Calcio meeting, said: "I'm not here today to specifically talk to Cesena, but there is always an opportunity to discuss things with colleagues."

On Sevilla winger Diego Perotti, he said: "He is not the only opportunity that we are evaluating. We know that we have a few holes to plug."

Juventus could buy more players in January - Giuseppe Marotta

The transfer chief has made clear there will more cash invested if the team needs

new additions in future, but grandiose spending on one individual is not the plan.

Sep 11, 2011

Juventus director general Giuseppe Marotta admits the club may find itself spending more equity during the winter transfer window after seeing a flurry of players arrive in the summer.

Players such as Eljero Elia, Mirko Vucinic, Arturo Vidal, Marcelo Estigarribia and Emanuele Giaccherini were just a handful of stars to arrive during an active market.

But, Marotta has hinted there could be more as he wants his squad to be competitive with the rest.

"We had a satisfying transfer campaign, but we must always improve, and so we will operate in January if we need to," Marotta told Sky Sport Italia.

"We did well, but in Italy you cannot spend

Giuseppe Marotta: New stadium represents

important financial growth for Juventus

The Turin side's general manager claims that owning their own arena gives them

plenty of advantages, including allowing the supporters to be the '12th man'.

Sep 22, 2011

Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta has taken the time to highlight the positive impact the club's new stadium will make on their finances.

The Turin giants completed their move to Juventus Stadium this summer, and Marotta cannot see anything but positives following the opening of the 41,000-capacity venue.

"It will bring in greater receipts and represents an important financial growth, but it also enables the development of an environment in which the team can be supported," Marotta told sportal.it.

"The public, by being so close to the pitch, will truly be our 12th man."

The former Sampdoria chief then went on to heap praise upon head coach Antonio Conte, as he feels the former Juventus player is the perfect man for the job.

"Conte is a leader who knows the environment, the value of the shirt, and he has a great sense of belonging," he added, referring to the time Conte spent as a player in Turin between 1992 and 2004.

Giovinco could return to Juventus - Giuseppe Marotta

Good performances for Italy have yielded positive results for the 24-year-old

as the Turin-based giants take note for future reference and contemplate taking the player back.

Oct 12, 2011

Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta is offering Parma forward Sebastian Giovinco a chance to return permanently as he speaks openly about the player's future.

The 24-year-old Italy international has been in stellar form for Parma this season, scoring five goals in four Serie A games for Franco Colomba's team.

Those performances were noticed by Italy coach Cesare Prandelli who called Giovinco up for their recent Euro 2012 qualifiers against Serbia and Northern Ireland - matches in which the player featured.

Marotta is also keeping his lens on the Italian who is co-owned by Juventus and Parma after the clubs struck a

Giuseppe Marotta aiming for top three finish in Serie A

The Turin side's general director feels that Champions League qualification

would be a realistic target for Antonio Conte's men.

Oct 24, 2011

Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta has told Tuttosport that he has targeted a top three finish after the club's strong start to the Serie A season.

Despite drawing 2-2 with Genoa on Saturday, the Turin giants sit third in the table, two points behind leaders Udinese.

And although many have touted Antonio Conte's men as potential title winners, Moratta feels that Champions League qualification should be the target.

"The word Scudetto is part of the Juventus lexicon, so it is always a goal. The target is to finish in the top three, so that we may fight for something important. In each game we go out to win.

"Conte arrived this year, along with many new players. The boss's work is initiated with different tactics and it takes time to mix a new group," Marotta said.

Trio have Juve role to play

Oct 24, 2011

Juventus insist that Alessandro Del Piero, Milos Krasic and Giorgio Chiellini all have a key part to play in 2011-12.

Del Piero was only used as a very late substitute on Saturday against Genoa at the end of a week when it was announced that this would be his last season as a player in Turin.

Krasic and Chiellini, meanwhile, have struggled to perform with any sort of consistency under new boss Antonio Conte so far.

Marotta moves to block Chelsea switch for Giovinco

Dec 6, 2011

Juventus GM Beppe Marotta is ready to battle Chelsea for Parma midfielder Sebastian Giovinco.

Giovinco's agent has already confirmed Chelsea's interest in the Atomic Ant, where Blues owner Roman Abramovich is a big fan.

However, the midfielder is co-owned by Juve and Marotta has made it clear they want to bring him back to Turin.

"We hope that Giovinco would return to Juve," he said.

"Parma is a friendly club. There is a real possibility: it will be good for Juventus and, therefore, also good for the national team. We have half, so we can bring him back."

Marotta already in talks with Chelsea's Kalou

Dec 7, 2011

Juventus are eyeing unsettled Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou.

Kalou has been put up for sale by Chelsea ahead of the January market and Tuttosport says Juve are ready to make an offer.

Juve GM Beppe Marotta has already sounded out Kalou's camp about the prospect of playing in Italy next year.

Kalou's arrival would suit coach Antonio Conte, who wants 'outside attackers' to suit his 4-3-3 system.

Marotta puts away Juve chequebook

Dec 13, 2011

Juventus director general Beppe Marotta has warned fans that the club won’t be making any big game signings during January.

The Old Lady have been linked with a number of new elements, but the club official has eased expectations.

“The club made some significant investment in the summer and I don’t think we’ll be making any more,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“Saying that, if there are some opportunities, like Andrea Barzagli last year, then we’ll look to take advantage of them if we can.”

Centre-back Barzagli, 30, joined the Bianconeri from Wolfsburg for an initial transfer fee of €300,000 as he had less than six months left on his contract.

While Juve may not buy after Christmas, they are expected to sell – starting with unwanted striker Amauri.

“We spoke to him last week,” Marotta said of the reported Tottenham target. “He wants to find a new club as soon as possible. We just have to find the right buyer.”

The former Sampdoria director also again denied speculation that the outfit could sell Milos Krasic after he lost his place in the first team.

“At this moment in time he is not demonstrating the value that he has, but he is a strong player and he’s proved it.”
