Juve: Conte targets Pogba, Cuadrado

http://www.football-italia.net/80415/juve-conte-targets-pogba-cuadrado?

Feb 26, 2016

Antonio Conte will target Juventus's Paul Pogba and Juan Cuadrado if he signs for Chelsea, say reports.

The current Azzurri Coach is widely believed to have reached an agreement with the Pensioners that will have him sitting on their bench next season, after Euro 2016.

President Roman Abramovich gave Conte wide options in terms of the transfer budget, and he will make use of that to pursue a few targets he is keen on.

The French 'golden nugget' Pogba, valued at approximately €100m, is said by TuttoMercatoWeb to be the Italian's first target.

Cuadrado, who is with the Bianconeri on loan from Chelsea, may also be a target for Conte, as reported by the Telegraph.

Cuadrado: ‘Juventus must believe’

http://www.football-italia.net/80774/cuadrado-%E2%80%98juventus-must-believe%E2%80%99?

Mar 4, 2016

Juan Cuadrado says Juventus must “believe” against Bayern Munich - “we’re a great team, and we can play”.

The Bianconeri were dominated for large parts of the first leg in Turin, but came back from 2-0 down to take a 2-2 draw to Bavaria.

“We have to go to Munich with the mentality we showed in the second half in the first leg,” Cuadrado told Mediaset.

“We’re a great team and we can play, we have to go there to try and win.

“The treble? We have to stay calm and take things one step at a time. In the Coppa Italia we’ve achieved our objective and are in the final, we have to stay in the lead in the League and for the rest we’ll see.”

Cuadrado is on-loan from Chelsea, and with long-term admirer Antonio Conte expected to take over at Stamford Bridge, could he have a future in London?

“I’m very calm, I’m just thinking about finishing my season well with Juve where I’m very happy. Then in the future we’ll see.”

Cuadrado: 'No Conte call'

http://www.football-italia.net/81151/cuadrado-no-conte-call?

Mar 11, 2016

Juan Cuadrado prepares Juventus for Bayern Munich, but says Antonio Conte “hasn’t called” for a return to Chelsea.

The Colombian spoke to Mediaset Premium and Sky Sport Italia after this evening’s 1-0 Serie A victory over Sassuolo.

“We faced a great side, but the most important thing is getting the result and now we’ll try to break away at the top,” said Cuadrado.

“We struggled at the end because Sassuolo are very strong in attack, but as always we held out with a great defence. We must continue being concentrated for the full 90 minutes.

“It is also important for Gigi Buffon that we keep doing well, because we can help him achieve the Serie A record. I am happy for him and he in turn gives us great results.”

Juventus will visit Bayern Munich in the Champions League Round of 16 on Wednesday, having drawn the first leg 2-2.

“It is a very important game for us. Winning today also helps give us the strength, self-belief and conviction to get a result in Munich.

“We have to go there and give it our all.”

Cuadrado joined Juve on loan from Chelsea, but has Conte – by all reports set to be their manager next season – asked him to return to base?

“No, I haven’t heard from him, but I am happy to be here at Juve and want to win something seeing as we’re still in the running for three tournaments. After that we’ll see.

“Juve are like a big family and that is part of our strength.”

Has Juan Cuadrado Done Enough to Earn
a Permanent Move to Juventus?

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2622935-has-juan-cuadrado-done-enough-to-earn-a-permanent-move-to-juventus?

Mar 13, 2016

There is no denying the impressive results recorded by Juventus recently, the reigning champions finally rediscovering their best form and reclaiming top spot in Serie A in recent weeks. A miserable start to 2015/16 saw the Bianconeri take just five points from their opening six games, only to spark into life and embark on a club-record 15-match winning run.

That streak began with a last-gasp 2-1 victory over crosstown rivals Torino in October, a memorable moment for Juan Cuadrado to net his first goal for the club. The Colombian entered the derby encounter as an 11th-minute substitute for the injured Sami Khedira and made his presence felt by setting up Paul Pogba for Juve’s opening goal.

As the graphic in the tweet below highlights, it was a superb performance from the player, but the question of whether his move should be made permanent continues to linger.

Adam Digby ‎@Adz77

Cuadrado joined the club on loan in late August, but their official website made no mention of a pre-agreed fee should the Bianconeri wish to sign him outright at the end of the campaign.

Despite that lack of official confirmation, however, director general Beppe Marotta revealed such a deal does exist when discussing the former Fiorentina winger’s future with Rai Sport (h/t Football Italia) back in January:

In tactical terms he is very different to the other players, so it’s only normal he suits us. There is a verbal agreement for an option to buy from Chelsea, so we’ll see what happens. We are happy with what he’s doing both on and off the field, so certainly he is someone we’ll try to keep in Turin next season too.

Making a case for them to do so is quite straightforward given the impact Cuadrado has made, weighing in with a total of three goals and five assists in his 28 appearances to date. Those performances have notably improved as the campaign has progressed too, supporters voting him as their player of the month for February, reported by the club’s official website.

Here's why @Cuadrado is your #MVP for February

During that period, he struck a vital goal against Frosinone and was heavily involved in the own goal that led to victory over Genoa, two results that were essential to opening up a lead over Napoli atop the Serie A standings.

His future may not solely depend on his own displays, however, with Juventus also believed to have an option to sign Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi in June. According to La giornalaccio rosa dello Sport (h/t Football Italia), the fee for that agreement is set at €25 million. It is unlikely the Bianconeri would sign both players.

Yet should Cuadrado and his effervescent style help secure a historic fifth consecutive league title, it would be difficult to imagine Juventus allowing him to return to Stamford Bridge, with the man himself seemingly fully focussed on achieving exactly that.

"We know that there are other teams near us, and they’ll fight to stay in the battle for the Scudetto," he told Sky Italia recently (h/t Football Italia). "We mustn’t give up, and continue with grit and always try to win. We must always go onto the field with the right mental attitude, and we have to work because we know the matches are difficult and anything can happen.”

That list of unknown variables could include making his switch permanent, particularly given the variety of options he provides playing as a wing-back in coach Massimiliano Allegri’s 3-5-2 formation or further forward in an alternate setup.

His dribbling and ability to beat a defender open up so many avenues for the Juventus attack, with the graphic above showing he has completed an impressive 66 per cent of the take-ons he has attempted this term, per Squawka.

Ignoring the potential signing of Berardi and given his valuable skill set, few would argue against Cuadrado’s stint in the club’s famous black-and-white stripes being extended.

Juve visit Chelsea for Cuadrado

http://www.football-italia.net/81529/juve-visit-chelsea-cuadrado?

Mar 19, 2016

Juventus will send emissaries to London for talks, as they hope to make Juan Cuadrado’s loan from Chelsea permanent.

The Colombian only spent six months at Stamford Bridge and struggled to adapt to the Premier League, visibly lacking confidence.

He has rediscovered both his scoring touch and self-belief in Turin during his loan spell this season.

According to Tuttosport, Juve will send representatives to London next week for negotiations with Chelsea, as they aim to make the move permanent.

While that would’ve been simple enough a few weeks ago, the situation is complicated by the imminent arrival of Antonio Conte on the Chelsea bench.

Conte is an admirer of Cuadrado and would like him to be recalled to base next season.

Tuttosport claim Juventus hope Cuadrado’s opinion will be decisive in the matter.

Candreva to replace Cuadrado?

http://www.football-italia.net/81761/candreva-replace-cuadrado?

Mar 23, 2016

Juventus will reportedly target Lazio’s Antonio Candreva this summer, to replace Juan Cuadrado.

The Italian international spent the second half of the 2009-10 season on loan with the Bianconeri, but they opted not to make the move permanent.

According to Sky, the lack of a redemption clause in Juan Cuadrado’s loan deal makes it all-but impossible to sign him outright from Chelsea this summer.

Antonio Conte is expected to take over at Stamford Bridge this summer, and is a long-term admirer of the Colombian winger, making it unlikely the English club will sell.

The news outlet therefore reports that Candreva is a target for the Turin giants, though they could face competition from Milan and Inter.

How history proves that Cuadrado will
come back to be a success under Conte

The Colombian has the talent, work ethic and versatility to shine under the guidance
of the Italian, who tried to sign him during his time in charge of Juventus.

http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892/transfer-zone/2016/04/06/22039272/-?

Apr 6, 2016

Antonio Conte wants to bring Juan Cuadrado back to Chelsea when he takes over at Stamford Bridge next season, despite Juventus's interest in securing a permanent deal for the Colombian.

The Italian champions have no clause to sign the Colombian in their one-season loan deal and would have to agree a fee with Chelsea for any move - but Conte is eager for the winger to return to London.

A look into the history of Conte and Cuadrado shows that this is not a surprise, given that the former Juventus coach was desperate to sign him while in charge in Turin before Chelsea got hold of him in February 2015 for around £24 million.

The 46-year-old Italian identified Cuadrado as his number one target when he was at the helm of the Italian giants, but his club's poor institutional relations with Fiorentina - stretching back to Roberto Baggio's contentious world record 1990 transfer - put the move out of reach.

A look at Serie A this season shows a side to the 27-year-old Colombian that was rarely seen at Stamford Bridge, where he won two trophies but scored no goals and was often relegated to the substitutes' bench in favour of Willian.

In Italy, he has shown his pace and energy down the right flank, with his most impressive display this season coming against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

The Colombian has played in 34 matches this season, scoring four goals and proving himself to be a versatile option, playing in any position down the right hand side.

Conte has been watching and has had great success playing in a 3-4-3 formation, with Cuadrado currently excelling in that role under Massimiliano Allegri at the Old Lady.

The second formation Conte likes is a 4-2-4, which requires the midfielders and wingers to put in a great deal of work, something Cuadrado has the attributes to accomplish. This formation stunned Italy as attacking football got his Bari side promoted from Serie B in 2009.

Conte has also played 'the English way' with the Italian national team, in what could be termed a traditional 4-4-2. This would leave open two spots for Cuadrado, who could play on the wing or at full-back, where he played much of his early career.

The defensive side of Cuadrado isn't one that English fans have seen much of, but he has had a big defensive responsibility at wing-back for Juventus under Allegri.

With the announcement of a new manager, there are signs that there is a way back for him at Chelsea despite struggling to break Eden Hazard and Willian’s stronghold in their wide positions during last year's title-winning campaign with Mourinho.

Mourinho promised the wide man that he "will have his time" after a cameo appearance in their League Cup final win last season over Tottenham - but that time never came.

Juventus chiefs have admitted to Goal that it will be “extremely difficult” for Cuadrado to return to the Turin club next season.

Cuadrado will be happy with how his season has gone with Juventus - who are six points clear in Serie A - and it may be tempting for him to try and stay where he is. With Conte's presence at Stamford Bridge confirmed, though, Cuadrado could finally be given the chance to shine in west London.

Cuadrado: 'Juve like a family'

http://www.football-italia.net/82859/cuadrado-juve-family?

Apr 15, 2016

Juan Cuadrado feels the secret to Juventus success is “it’s like a family here and Gigi Buffon is one of the best in the world.”

The Colombian is on loan from Chelsea and it remains to be seen if Juve will buy him outright.

“It’s like being in a family here. We are a great group off the field too, we all work in the same direction and you can see that when it’s time to fight too. Nobody holds back and we all give everything,” Cuadrado told JTV.

“This is a great squad made up of great champions. Max Allegri asks me to play simple, to be concentrated in defending and, when I have space, to try my moves.

“I feel his faith in me and try to improve, because that is football. You must always try to grow. I’d love to score an overhead kick. It’s difficult, but who knows…”

There is visible admiration within the squad for captain and goalkeeper Buffon.

“We all know full well what he brings to the team. He is one of the best in the world and knowing he’s in our goal fills us with confidence and pride.

“He doesn’t just give his contribution on the field, but in the locker room too.”

On Sunday afternoon the Serie A leaders host Palermo in Turin, fresh from their ninth change of management.

“It will certainly be a difficult match, as always. We must go out there with the hunger and determination to get a result. Playing at the Stadium and having the fans by our side is always an extra weapon.”

Juventus Loanee Set For Chelsea Return

http://forzaitalianfootball.com/2016/05/juventus-loanee-set-for-chelsea-return/?

May 11, 2016

Following a successful season with Juventus, Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado’s future looks to be in London, with parent club Chelsea keen to bring him back to Stamford Bridge.

The former Fiorentina man initially signed for the then-Jose Mourinho’s Blues in January 2015, however, limited playing time saw him loaned back to Italy to join the Old Lady.

Now, according to Tuttosport, incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is a keen admirer of Cuadrado, dating back to his time as Juventus coach, and will welcome him to the club’s Cobham training complex with open arms.

So far this season, the 27-year-old has appeared 28 times in Serie A and contributed by scoring four goals as well as providing an additional five assists for his teammates.

During his short stint in London, Cuadrado started just four times in the Premier League, making an additional eight appearances as a substitute, which earned him a league-winners medal.

On-loan Juventus winger Juan Cuadrado to decide future after Copa América Centenário

http://www.blackwhitereadallover.com/2016/6/4/11857826/juan-

cuadrado-chelsea-fc-barcelona-juventus-transfer-rumour-report-interview

Jun 4, 2016

When we sat around and first had discussions regarding Juan Cuadrado's future with Juventus, it seemed like a certainty that the Colombian winger was going to make his loan deal a permanent one and that would be that. Nothing more than Beppe Marotta negotiating a price that would make Chelsea happy and that would be that for the most part.

Then known Cuadrado admirer Antonio Conte had to go and take over at Chelsea, a club that still owns the 28-year-old's contract. That has caused Cuadrado's once seemingly Juventus-filled future to be thrown for a bit of a loop. As we sit here during the first weekend in June, we don't know whether Cuadrado's stay will just be for one season on loan and that's it or for anything more than that. It's anybody's guess at this point, really.

What does Cuadrado have to say about all of this? Glad you asked, self...

"It's nice to hear [about Barcelona reports], but here you do not think about it, only the national team. After [Copa América] we will see what happens with my future."

(Source: Evening Standard)

This shouldn't be a surprise to anybody, really. What should Cuadrado be focusing on right now, the 2016-17 club season or the tournament Colombia just began on Friday night against the United States? Yeah, I think we know the answer to that one, folks.

It's no secret that Marotta has stated Juventus' desire to keep Cuadrado in Turin beyond this season. It's been that way for months, and I would think that even with Conte now in charge at Stamford Bridge, it will stay that way. Who knows how much the soon-to-be signing of Dani Alves will play into Cuadrado's future at Juventus. It's not like it would be a total like-for-like switch between one South American for another.

Go on and play well over the next couple of weeks at the Copa América, Juan. Maybe we'll see you next season. Or maybe not.

Juve ask Chelsea for Cuadrado

http://www.football-italia.net/86882/juve-ask-chelsea-cuadrado

Jul 5, 2016

Juventus are in talks with Chelsea to retain Juan Cuadrado for a total €24m deal, claim Sky Sport Italia.

The Colombia international spent this season on loan in Turin and rediscovered his confidence after a shaky six months in the Premier League.

According to reports in Italy this evening, Juve are in negotiations to extend the loan by another year for €2m.

Crucially, it would include a mandatory option to buy in June 2017 for €22m.

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will give this the all-clear, as new Coach Antonio Conte is eager to work with Cuadrado.

The Stamford Bridge side spent €31m to take Cuadrado from Fiorentina in February 2015.

Juventus trying to re-acquire Juan Cuadrado

from Chelsea on loan with option to buy

L-W-O-T-B are Beppe Marotta's five favorite letters. In that order.

http://www.blackwhitereadallover.com/2016/7/6/12102264/juan-cuadrado

-juventus-chelsea-2016-serie-a-epl-summer-tranafer-rumors

Jul 6, 2016

For whatever reason, all has been very quiet on the Juan Cuadrado front this summer. We thought Juventus were going to try and keep him in Turin, but then that deadline passed. Since then, it's basically been radio silence in terms of what we've heard about Cuadrado in the press. Not a weird -- which is somewhat odd considering that his future seemed anything but certain a few months ago.

Well, think again. Beppe Marotta might be going back to the well one more time.

According to Sky Sport Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio, Juventus are looking to acquire the Chelsea winger on loan for a second consecutive season. And while new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte -- yeah, you might have heard of him -- is a known admirer of the speed Colombian with the big afro, it looks as though there could be a chance we will be seeing more of Cuadrado in our lives next season.

Juan Cuadrado relaunched his career last season on Juventus after joining them on loan from Chelsea. The Colombian winger was a decisive player in numerous matches, and now the bianconeri would like to keep him. They contacted Chelsea about acquiring him on loan with a forced option to buy- they have offered €2 million for the loan with an option set at €22 million. The parties have yet to reach an agreement, but agent Lucci is working as a mediator between the clubs- Chelsea is asking for more than Juve is offering also because Conte would like to keep him.

Sounds a lot like the rumored deal Juventus set up with Chelsea a little less than a year ago, doesn't it?

No matter what the construct of the deal truly was or will be, Juventus looking at Cuadrado again based on who the club has already added is in interesting one. With Dani Alves signed up for next season, one would think that Juventus would be looking to play Cuadrado more as a natural winger than as a wingback like he did a handful of times last season. That, of course, is dependent on him actually coming back to Juve for a second season, but it surely means Max Allegri would have more tactical flexibility to bounce between formations if he so pleases.

But now that we've finally cracked the Cuadrado silence, I would assume this isn't the last we've heard of the matter. Once the first report gets out, then surely there will be more to follow. It's just simple mercato logic, boys and girls.

Juventus close to signing Juan Cuadrado on loan from Chelsea

http://www.blackwhitereadallover.com/2016/7/8/12123948/juan-cuadrado

-juventus-chelsea-2016-serie-a-epl-summer-tranafer-rumors

Jul 8, 2016

While the footballing world continues its collective freakout session about Paul Pogba rumors that may or may not be close to the truth, Juventus is reportedly getting close to doing some business that involved a player from last season's double-winning squad. And it just so happens that it's one of Pogba's dancing partner from a year ago.

In case you don't wanna click the link that was inserted into the second sentence of the this post and subsequently try and read some Italian, here's the short version of what you would read there.

Cuadrado is going to Juventus [Di Marzio]

Yes, that's right. According to Sky Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio, Juventus is close to bringing speedy winger Juan Cuadrado back to Italy after bringing him back to Italy last summer. If this is just piggybacking off what we heard a few days earlier regarding a potential deal being struck, then Juve will likely be signing Cuadrado on loan with either an option or a mandatory to buy the 28-year-old Colombian next summer for a fee of around €22 million.

Cuadrado, who was signed from Fiorentina in the January 2015 transfer window, never settled in at Chelsea. And even with a new manager who has reportedly tried to bring him to Juventus in the past in the form of Antonio Conte taking over at Chelsea, it's looking more and more likely that Cuadrado's future isn't going to be in London.

And after weeks of not hearing a damn thing about Cuadrado — maybe that had to do with the fact that Copa América was going on and the fact that he wanted to pay attention to the actual games going — there's a whole lot of wind in the sails of a return to Turin. So, go on and negotiate that loan with option to buy, Beppe. You know that's what you do best.

Milan fight Juve for Cuadrado

http://www.football-italia.net/87055/milan-fight-juve-cuadrado

Jul 8, 2016

Milan are making an approach to Chelsea for Juventus transfer target Juan Guillermo Cuadrado.

The winger would be reunited with his former Fiorentina Coach Vincenzo Montella at San Siro.

According to Mediaset Premium, the Colombian is the latest target for the Rossoneri ahead of their Chinese takeover.

Cuadrado would suit Montella’s 4-3-3 system and is already confident in Serie A.

Juventus also want Cuadrado after his season-long loan spell in Turin.

It’s reported the latest Bianconeri offer to Chelsea is €26m and Milan aim to match it.

Chelsea, Juventus to discuss Juan Cuadrado future?

chelsea-juventus-to-discuss-cuadrado-future_276465.html

Jul 10, 2016

New Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has reportedly indicated that he wants to keep Juan Cuadrado at Stamford Bridge next season.

Cuadrado joined Chelsea in January 2015 but after a poor start to his Blues career, he was loaned out to Juventuswhere he made 28 appearances during their Serie A title victory.

The Italian giants are said to want to secure his services for another 12 months but according toGetWestLondon, Conte is keen to keep the left-sided Colombian international in West London.

It is claimed that Cuadrado would prefer a return to Turin but after watching him numerous times last season, Conte wants to include the 28-year-old in his new squad.

Cuadrado's future could become clearer when agent Alessandro Lucci meets with Chelsea next week.

Chelsea ready to sell Cuadrado

http://www.football-italia.net/87693/chelsea-ready-sell-cuadrado

Jul 20, 2016

Chelsea are open to selling Juan Guillermo Cuadrado for €30m, as Juventus, Inter and Milan show interest.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Antonio Conte has given the all-clear for the Colombia international to move on, as the player requested a return to Serie A.

The ideal for him would be joining Juve, where he spent last season on loan to rediscover his confidence.

Inter and also Milan, who have his ex-Fiorentina Coach Vincenzo Montella, are other options for the 28-year-old.

The report claims Juve have offered €25m spread out in a loan with mandatory option to buy, but Chelsea want €30m.

The Blues paid €31m to take Cuadrado from Fiorentina in February 2015, but he never felt comfortable in London.

Chelsea ask €30m for Cuadrado?

http://www.football-italia.net/87765/chelsea-ask-€30m-cuadrado

Jul 22, 2016

Milan are reportedly very interested in Juan Cuadrado, but Chelsea want €30m for the winger.

The Colombian international spent last season on loan at Juventus, but Blues manager Antonio Conte is a long-term admirer of the former Fiorentina man.

As a result, the English side are reluctant to sell, although reports have suggested that Cuadrado favours a return to Serie A.

Today Leggo reports that the Rossoneri are keen to bring him to San Siro, but wouldn’t be able to pay the €30m asking price.

They are therefore hoping to lower the transfer fee through intermediary Alessandro Lucci.

Milan go all-in for Cuadrado

http://www.football-italia.net/88213/milan-go-all-cuadrado

Jul 23, 2016

Milan are going all in to reunite Juan Cuadrado with Vincenzo Montella, especially if Chelsea allow him to leave on loan with option to buy.

The Colombia international winger had his best days at Fiorentina under Coach Montella.

His confidence evaporated after a move to Chelsea in January 2015 and he returned for a successful loan spell at Juventus last season.

According to Tuttosport, Milan are the strongest contenders for Cuadrado and are going all-in for the 28-year-old.

Chelsea are prepared to let Cuadrado go on loan with a mandatory option to buy for around €30m after agent Alessandro Lucci flew in to London yesterday for negotiations, begging to be released.

This is the same sum the Rossoneri hope to reap by selling Carlos Bacca to West Ham United and, crucially, would allow Milan to spread the payments over more than one year.

A return to Juventus or even a move to Inter are also options for Cuadrado, who is desperate to stay in Serie A.

Milan favourites for Cuadrado

http://www.football-italia.net/88296/milan-favourites-cuadrado

Jul 24, 2016

Milan are the new favourites to sign Juan Cuadrado and are reportedly in direct talks with Chelsea.

The Colombia international spent last season on loan at Juventus and rediscovered his confidence, never quite settling in the Premier League.

He seems eager for a return to Serie A and played his best football at Fiorentina under Vincenzo Montella, who is now the Coach of Milan.

According to Sky Sport Italia and Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri are the favourites for Cuadrado due to this rapport and the chance to guarantee regular first team football.

Milan are having a cash-flow crisis, as the Chinese takeover is still not finalised and there are problems selling Carlos Bacca to raise funds.

They hope to be allowed to sign Cuadrado on loan with a mandatory option to buy for a total of just under €30m.

His agent, Alessandro Lucci, is in London for negotiations and to ask for a loan deal.

Juventus continue Cuadrado chase

Juventus are not giving up on Juan Cuadrado but Chelsea are not keen to sell, reports suggest.

The winger spent last season on loan with the Bianconeri, but there was no buyout clause in the agreement and he returned to Stamford Bridge this summer.

New Blues manager Antonio Conte is known to be a big fan of the Colombian international, making it unlikely he’ll be allowed to leave the club ahead of the coming season.

However, Premium Sport reports that the Old Lady aren’t giving up on Cuadrado, and still hope to bring him back to Turin before the transfer window closes.

There is also interest from Milan, but the Rossoneri must sort out their ownership situation before venturing onto the transfer market.

Milan interested in signing Cuadrado from Chelsea

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte faces a battle to keep hold of the winger,

who returned from an impressive loan spell with his old club Juventus.

AC Milan remain interested in signing Juan Cuadrado next season despite Antonio Conte being adamant that he wants him to stay at Chelsea, Goal understands.

The former Fiorentina winger is well known in Italy and had a successful loan spell at Juventus last season, but he is in contention to start against AC Milan in his club's International Champions Cup match Wednesday.

The 28-year-old faces stiff competition for places in his position at Chelsea, having to compete with Willian, who won Player of the Year, Pedro and Eden Hazard, with Conte acknowledging that he is a player who is drawing interest.

"Juan Cuadrado is a Chelsea player as I said with Diego Costa," Conte said. "He has worked very hard and is training very hard with us. Everyone knows what I think about him and everyone knows that good players have a lot interest in a transfer window."

"Now he is a Chelsea player and happy. If you will ask me what could happen in future I couldn’t answer about Juan Cuadrado nor other players."

Conte has long been an admirer of the Colombia international since his spell as the manager of Juventus but lost out on signing him to Chelsea due to his old club's poor relationship with Fiorentina.

Milan face competition from Cuadrado's old club Juventus, who wanted to make their loan permanent last season after their domestic double-winning season, before Conte blocked the deal.

Rossoneri head coach Vincenzo Montella refused to be drawn on whether he was interested in bringing Cuadrado to the San Siro. When questioned, he said: "He is a Chelsea player — you will have to ask him."

Conte: ‘Cuadrado is a Chelsea player’

Antonio Conte warns Milan and Juventus that “Juan Cuadrado is a Chelsea player”.

The Colombian winger spent last season on loan with the Bianconeri, and it’s been reported that they’re keen to bring him back to Turin.

In addition, Milan are said to be looking for a loan deal to bring the former Fiorentina man back to Serie A.

However, Blues manager Conte is known to be a big fan of Cuadrado, and warned again today that he wants to hold onto him.

“Cuadrado is a Chelsea player,” Conte said in a Press conference.

“He has worked very hard and is training very hard with us. Everyone knows what I think about Juan Cuadrado. Everyone knows that good players have a lot of interest in the transfer window.

“Now he's a Chelsea player and happy. If you ask me what could happen in the future, I can't answer Juan Cuadrado and other players.”

Antonio Conte once again declares that

Juan Cuadrado is a Chelsea player

When it comes to Juventus transfer talk these days, it obviously centers around Paul Pogba and goes from there. That means the impact of what a potential move to Manchester United would mean to be Juventus' bank account and then what the club could be doing in an attempt to sign a replacement. There's no escaping it. That's how it's been for weeks.

So when it comes to talk of Juan Cuadrado potentially coming back to Juventus for another season (or more), it seems as though mum's the word these days. And some of that has to do with what known Cuadrado admirer, new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has had to say about the Colombian winger since taking over in London.

Conte once again reaffirmed that Cuadrado is in his plans for this upcoming season, one that is quickly approaching with all clubs in the middle of their preseason preparations. Even with rumors of Juventus and potentially AC Milan getting in on a bid for Cuadrado, Mr. Conte is, unsurprisingly, having none of it.

"Cuadrado is a Chelsea player," Conte said in a press conference.

"He has worked very hard and is training very hard with us. Everyone knows what I think about Juan Cuadrado. Everyone knows that good players have a lot of interest in the transfer window.

"Now he's a Chelsea player and happy. If you ask me what could happen in the future, I can't answer Juan Cuadrado and other players."

Conte may say what he said in the final graf of the quote above now, but if he wants Cuadrado to stay at Chelsea, then I feel pretty confident that Cuadrado is going to be staying at Chelsea.

And seeing as Juventus has added a pretty dang good wingback in Dani Alves, a young and talented winger in Marko Pjaca and is pretty capped out in terms of additions outside of maybe a central midfielder should Pogba make his way to Manchester (and blah blah blah!), then bringing in Cuadrado could just mean playing time would be even that much tougher to come by than it was last season.

Could Cuadrado be useful in this Juventus squad? Yeah, probably given his attributes. But where's he going to fit? That's the main thing with the way the roster has been constructed this summer. While some of may like Cuadrado as a player, it's hard to see where he fits into this current Juventus puzzle as the month of August starts up.

Cuadrado, Zaza back on Milan radar

http://www.football-italia.net/88829/cuadrado-zaza-back-milan-radar

Aug 5, 2016

It is reported that Juan Cuadrado and Simone Zaza are back on the transfer radar of Milan.

The speculation comes after news that the Rossoneri will be taken over by a Chinese consortium, with President Silvio Berlusconi having signed preliminary documents to sell the club.

With an immediate €15m of investment and a further €85m to come once the takeover is finalised, transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio suggests the San Siro club will return to Chelsea with an offer for Cuadrado.

The Colombian winger is thought to be a direct request of Coach Vincenzo Montella, with Di Marzio adding that a loan with the option to buy deal could be a realistic option given Milan’s newly improved funds.

Another player potentially joining the Rossoneri could be Zaza, though this would only take place if striker Carlos Bacca were to leave.
