Cuadrado returning to Juventus?

http://www.football-italia.net/89874/cuadrado-returning-juventus?

Aug 16, 2016

Juan Guillermo Cuadrado could return to Juventus on loan for €4m after failing to break into the Chelsea side.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Chelsea have opened the door to releasing the Colombian on a paid loan, perhaps without an option to buy.

It's essentially the same deal as last season, but at €3-4m rather than €1.5m.

A meeting is expected between the two clubs on Wednesday.

This is after the 28-year-old already spent last season on loan with Juve, scoring five goals in 40 competitive appearances between Serie A, the Champions League and Coppa Italia.

He also provided eight assists for his Bianconeri teammates.

Cuadrado never really settled at Stamford Bridge after his €31m move from Fiorentina in February 2015 and has been pushing for a return to Serie A ever since.

Even the arrival of Italian Antonio Conte at Chelsea has not made him feel more at home or closer to a regular starting spot.

Cuadrado had been heavily linked with a move to Milan and his ex-Viola boss Vincenzo Montella, but by signing Jose Ernesto Sosa from Besiktas today, they have filled their non-EU quota.

Report: Juventus to try and sign

Juan Cuadrado on loan again

Could Juan Cuadrado be heading back to Juventus before the summer transfer

window comes to an end? It seems as though there’s a chance it could happen.

http://www.blackwhitereadallover.com/2016/8/17/12514444/juan-cuadrado-

chelsea-juventus-2016-epl-serie-a-summer-transfer-rumors

Aug 17, 2016

In a way, it seems as though Juan Cuadrado is like the girlfriend that Juventus can’t truly let go of after a bit of time. The two had a good season-long run, but knew full well going into things that it may not end up being a permanent kind of partnership.

But, like the good man that Beppe Marotta is, he’s working to make things happen again.

Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down, you gonna run around and desert you...”

(Back to reality.)

According to reports out of Italy on Tuesday night, Juventus are preparing a bid to sign Cuadrado on loan for a second consecutive season. The deal would be constructed much in the same kind of fashion as Cuadrado’s loan deal was last season, but the initial price of the loan deal will go up from €3.4 million from €1.5 million that Marotta acquired the Colombian winger for 12 months ago.

The reasoning behind it is that, even though new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is a known fan of Cuadrado, the 28-year-old winger has yet to fully impress and break into a squad that is flush with attacking options. Because of that, Cuadrado — who arrived at Chelsea for €31 million during the winter transfer window in 2015 but never truly settled into the starting lineup (or anything close to it) — would likely prefer to go out on loan than try to work his way off the bench. (Which, in a way, is somewhat ironic considering that he’d likely be an option off the bench more often than not for Max Allegri this upcoming season.)

Not only has Cuadrado been linked with a return to Juventus both on a permanent and/or loan deals this summer, he has also been a rumored transfer target of both Milan clubs. But seeing what kind of season he had at Juventus last year, one would think he’d prefer another go with Allegri and Co. considering the club will be competing on three fronts and in the Champions League.

Cuadrado to Juventus moving closer?

http://www.football-italia.net/89896/cuadrado-juventus-moving-closer?

Aug 17, 2016

Juan Cuadrado’s return to Juventus may be moving closer, with reports his agent is in London to broker a deal with Chelsea.

The Colombian winger spent last season on loan with the Bianconeri, but there was clause to make the deal permanent this summer.

Blues manager Antonio Conte is known to be a fan of the former Fiorentina man, so it was thought he’d remain at Stamford Bridge.

However, it has emerged in the last 24 hours that the Old Lady could take Cuadrado back to Turin, and now Tuttomercatoweb is reporting a step forward in negotiations.

It’s claimed Cuadrado’s agent, Alessandro Lucci, is in London today to put the final touches to the deal.

It’s expected the winger will arrive on a €4m loan, which will once again have no buyout option as Conte would like to keep the 28-year-old.

Juventus hold Cuadrado meeting

http://www.football-italia.net/89960/juventus-hold-cuadrado-meeting

Aug 18, 2016

Juventus are reportedly meeting with Juan Cuadrado’s agent, as a return from Chelsea gets closer.

The winger spent last season on loan with the Bianconeri, but there was no buyout clause in the deal and he returned to Stamford Bridge this summer.

At first it appeared that new Blues manager Antonio Conte was planning to keep the Colombian, but in recent days talk of a return to Turin has intensified.

Now Gianluca Di Marzio’s website is reporting that a meeting is underway between the Old Lady and Cuadrado’s agent, Alessandro Lucci.

While there is no definitive deal with Chelsea, it’s thought Juve are offering another loan without option.

Bianconeri general manager Giuseppe Marotta has admitted they'd like to have Cuadrado back, so the ball is in the Premier League side's court.

Juventus convince Chelsea to allow Cuadrado loan return

The Old Lady have successfully persuaded Blues officials to allow the Colombia international

to return to Italy on another temporary deal with a clause to buy him outright.

http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892/transfer-zone/2016/08/18/26645932/-?

Aug 18, 2016

Chelsea winger Juan Cuadrado is set to return to Juventus on loan following successful negotiations between the Bianconeri and his agent Alessandro Lucci, Goal understands.

Juve will pay €4 million up front and have agreed to buy the 28-year-old outright at the end of the season, with a fee for the permanent deal still to be agreed.

Antonio Conte had hoped to include Cuadrado in his first-team squad this season but Cuadrado and his family expressed their desire to return to Italy.

Despite his previous insistence Cuadrado would not leave, Conte was forced to leave the 28-year-old out of his squad to face West Ham on Monday night when it became clear he was unwilling to stay in London.

Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta revealed that "a small opportunity [had] opened up again" yesterday and it appears that their talks with Chelsea have reached a swift conclusion.

Cuadrado featured sporadically during Chelsea's pre-season after making 36 appearances for Juventus as they won Serie A and the Coppa Italia during the 2015-16 campaign.

Agent: ‘Cuadrado to Juventus not easy’

http://www.football-italia.net/89997/agent-‘cuadrado-juventus-not-easy’

Aug 18, 2016

Juan Cuadrado’s agent admits a return to Juventus “isn’t simple” but he’ll fly to London to meet Chelsea.

The Bianconeri are trying to bring the Colombian international back for another loan spell, but the situation is complicated given that Blues manager Antonio Conte is a fan of the winger.

“It’s not an easy question,” Lucci explained to SportItalia.

“However, I’ll fly to London tomorrow to try and unblock it.”

Cuadrado got four goals and five assists in Serie A last season, including a crucial last-minute winner in the Derby della Mole against Torino.

Conte: ‘Waiting for Cuadrado clarity’

http://www.football-italia.net/90016/conte-‘waiting-cuadrado-clarity’

Aug 19, 2016

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is waiting for Juan Cuadrado’s situation to “become more clear” amid talk of a Juventus return.

The winger spent last season with the Bianconeri, but there was no buyout clause and he returned to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Conte is known to be an admirer of the Colombian, so it was a surprise when he was left out of the squad to face West Ham United, and now talks are taking placeabout a return to Turin.

“About the transfer policy it’s right to speak with the club,” Conte told reporters ahead of the Watford game.

“I have contact every day and I repeat we must find - we must search to find - the right solution for the market, to buy and to sell.

“For Cuadrado we are waiting. The situation must become more clear about his position. [For] now he’s Chelsea’s player and today he had training with us.”

Reports: Juventus closing in on signing Juan Cuadrado on loan again

http://www.blackwhitereadallover.com/2016/8/20/12563220/juan-cuadrado-

chelsea-juventus-2016-epl-serie-a-summer-transfer-rumors

Aug 20, 2016

Juan Cuadrado rumors are back in our lives and it seems as though they’re not going away any time soon, folks. Well, unless Juventus and Chelsea strike some kind of deal in the very near future.

And it’s not like Juventus is going to suddenly lose interest in acquiring a player that had some very, very good moments at the club last season.

According to reports out of Italy — including La Gazzetta dello Sport and Gianluca Di Marzio — Juventus are closing in on re-signing Cuadrado on loan for a second consecutive season. That loan deal, much like was stated earlier in the week, would include a higher loan fee than a year ago, but the overall transfer fee come next summer wouldn’t be the same as the one that Juve passed on a couple of months ago.

Here’s what Di Marzio is saying about the matter:

(Juventus) are also strongly pursuing Juan Cuadrado as the player now seems closer to join: There will be a meeting on Monday between the involved parties as they will look to find an agreement for the Chelsea winger ( a dry loan). Chelsea seem ready to accept Juventus' offer as Cuadrado's agent Alessandro Lucci, is working hard to make a deal happen.

A guy most of us around here, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, had this to say about Cuadrado maybe potentially possibly joining Juventus before the transfer window closes:

"For Cuadrado we are waiting, waiting on the situation," Conte said. "It must become more clear about his position. Now he's Chelsea's player. Today he had training with us."

(Source: ESPNFC)

So, if we were to pull out our Cuadrad-O-Meter, I’d say that the odds of the Colombian winger — at least right now — point towards him making a return to Turin and wearing No. 16 once again.

It’s pretty to easy to figure out that even with Juventus not picking up Cuadrado’s buy option earlier this summer that the interest to bring him aboard is still there. And when Di Marzio says that Chelsea are basically ready to accept an offer for Cuadrado, you’ve got to think that something is happening relatively soon.

I guess that means we get to talk about even more speed on the wings than is currently there. Same goes for afros. Get your wigs ready if you want to start planning ahead for a potential move.

Juve get Cuadrado all-clear

http://www.football-italia.net/90066/juve-get-cuadrado-all-clear?

Aug 20, 2016

Chelsea and Antonio Conte have given the all-clear for Juan Cuadrado to return to Juventus, claim Tuttosport.

The Colombian already spent last season on loan in Turin and is eager for a comeback, as he never settled in London.

According to Tuttosport, Conte and Chelsea have accepted the offer to renew the loan at an increased cost of €3.5m.

Once again, Juve will have no option or obligation to buy at the end of the season.

Cuadrado was not even on the bench for today's Premier League trip to Watford.

Juventus hopeful of completing Cuadrado deal in "next few days"

Giuseppe Marotta says that his club hope to seal the signing of the Chelsea winger in the

coming days whilst Simone Zaza has been told that he will be free to leave the club.

http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2016/08/20/26715912/-?

Aug 20, 2016

Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta is optimistic that the deal to bring Chelsea's Juan Cuadrado back to Serie A will be completed "over the next few days".

The Colombia international joined Chelsea on a four-and-a-half-year deal for a reported £23 million in February 2015 but he struggled to make an impact in his first few months at the club.

As a result the versatile wide midfielder was shipped out on loan to Juve for the 2015-16 campaign, and he enjoyed a solid year as Massimiliano Allegri's men won Serie A.

The appointment of former Juve and Italy coach Antonio Conte as Chelsea's new manager seemed to give the Colombian's career in England a boost, but he now looks all set to return to Turin.

"I hope that over the next few days we can conclude the Cuadrado deal," Marotta told Mediaset.

"For now he is a Chelsea player. We presented a proposal to them and are waiting for a response, but we are optimistic."

One player tipped to go the other way and leave Juve for the Premier League is Simone Zaza.

The striker is free to depart the club and has already seen a switch to Wolfsburg fall through, but with West Ham reportedly circling, the Italy international's future should be resolved before the transfer window closes.

"We spoke to Zaza. The transfer is not a punishment, but he would undoubtedly find more space elsewhere," Marotta added.

"There was the Wolfsburg idea, but it all fell apart. Over the final 10 days of the transfer window, we've got all the time to find him a new club."

Chelsea-Cuadrado meet today over Juve

http://www.football-italia.net/90172/chelsea-cuadrado-meet-today-over-juve

Aug 22, 2016

Chelsea will meet Juan Cuadrado's agent today, say reports, as a loan to Juventus is still an open option.

The Bianconeri's sporting director Beppe Marotta has been discussing a transfer with the Blues for weeks now, but Coach Antonio Conte still hasn't green-lighted the deal.

Both the Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport report that a transfer is now imminent, with the former newspaper claiming it will be settled in two-three days.

Tuttosport also report that the player's agent will meet Chelsea today in an effort to find an agreement that will let the Colombian move.

At the moment, Juventus' plan would be to take the player on loan for the season for a cost of €3.5m, with no obligation to buy.

Chelsea stall on Cuadrado deal

http://www.football-italia.net/90206/chelsea-stall-cuadrado-deal?

Aug 22, 2016

Juventus still don’t have a deal with Chelsea for the return of Juan Cuadrado, reports suggest.

The Colombian spent last season on loan in Turin, but there was no buyout option and he returned to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

The Bianconeri are attempting to bring him back for another loan spell, with general manager Giuseppe Marotta expressing his confidence over the weekend.

However, Gianluca Di Marzio’s website is reporting that there is still no agreement with Chelsea on the €4m loan with no option to buy.

Cuadrado is believed to favour a return to Serie A, so his agent Alessandro Lucci will attempt to convince the English club.

Report: Chelsea stalling on potential Juan Cuadrado return to Juventus

More transfer drama. Just what we need this summer!

http://www.blackwhitereadallover.com/2016/8/22/12592466/juan-cuadrado-

chelsea-juventus-2016-epl-serie-a-summer-transfer-rumors

Aug 22, 2016

After hearing about Paul Pogba joining Manchester United “within the next 48 hours” or something along those lines, the last thing I wanted to hear about was another potential Juventus transfer deal being drawn out after we thought everything was done.

Seems as though Chelsea has other ideas regarding a Juventus-involved transfer getting resolved quickly.

According Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea are still balking at the loan offer that Juventus have reportedly presented to the Londoners to bring Cuadrado back to to Turin for a second straight season. I’d like to continue to blabber on about it, but I’ll just let Gianluca take it from here:

At this moment though a deal with Chelsea is missing, the Londoners have not given the ok to a loan of around 4 million euros without an option to buy.

Negotiations will continue over the next few days with the player's agent Lucci flying to London and speaking directly with the Blues. The agent intends to press on the player's will of returning to Italy for personal reasons. The situation is currently uphill for Cuadrado.

Ah, just what we needed in our lives, another drawn out deal when things seemed to be nearing their conclusion.

If Cuadrado is truly close to joining Juventus no matter what Chelsea may or may not be doing, then obviously he’s not in Antonio Conte’s plans as the former Juve manager has wanted us to believe. But it’s obvious that Chelsea want to get as much money from Juventus as they possibly can when it comes to this loan deal — whether it’s €3 million, €4 million or something higher.

And if Beppe Marotta is still as “optimistic” about a Cuadrado deal getting done as he was when he spoke to the press before Juventus’ season-opening win against Fiorentina on Saturday, then who am I to disagree with the guy?

Or maybe, just maybe, there could be a simple resolution to all of this...

I mean, if it’s that easy where you just split the difference, do it and get it done.

Cuadrado agent meets Chelsea

http://www.football-italia.net/90299/cuadrado-agent-meets-chelsea

Aug 24, 2016

Juan Cuadrado’s agent is reportedly in London, but Chelsea want Juventus to have an obligation to buy.

The Bianconeri are looking to bring the Colombian back for another loan spell, after he impressed in Turin last season.

However, Premium Sport is reporting that the Blues want the loan to include an obligation to make the deal permanent at the end of the current season.

The Old Lady would like an obligation to buy, meaning that the two parties are at an impasse.

Therefore Cuadrado’s agent, Alessandro Lucci, is in London to meet with Chelsea in order to try and unlock the deal.

Conte blocks Cuadrado to Juve

http://www.football-italia.net/90337/conte-blocks-cuadrado-juve

Aug 24, 2016

Chelsea Coach Antonio Conte is continuing to block Juan Cuadrado’s return to Juventus, it’s reported in Italy.

Sky Sport Italia insist the only obstacle remains Conte and his refusal to let the Colombian go.

Juve are prepared to take the winger on loan for around €3.5m, without including an option to buy as part of the move.

Chelsea are happy to accept that, even if they would prefer an outright sale to recoup some cash.

However, Conte is standing in the way and it’s believed to be causing tension with the player and agent Alessandro Lucci.

JUVENTUS TARGET JUAN CUADRADO SET TO STAY AT CHELSEA

http://www.thehardtackle.com/news/2016/08/25/transfer-news-

juventus-target-juan-cuadrado-set-to-stay-at-chelsea/?

Aug 25, 2016

Latest reports suggest that Chelsea coach Antonio Conte, who is apparently an ardent admirer of the Colombian winger, has blocked his move to Juventus from Chelsea. The former Fiorentina wing-back spent a year on loan at Juventus following an unsuccessful six months at Stamford Bridge.

Juventus had intensified contacts with Chelsea in the last couple of weeks to ensure that Juan Cuadrado comes back to Turin for a second consecutive loan spell. Earlier there were doubts as to whether Juve want the Colombian or not after the successful signing of Marko Pjaca from Dinamo Zagreb.

Juventus were looking to end the transfer window on a high trying to secure PSG’s Blaise Matuidi and Chelsea’s Cuadrado. But the latter move seems to have been blocked.

Conte and Cuadrado

Reports from Sky Italia suggest that Antonio Conte has blocked the transfer, despite the player’s insistence on a move back to Italy where he had earned his name playing for Juve’s rivals Fiorentina – a team Juve defeated last weekend in their opening fixture in Serie A.

Juventus were looking to land the winger on a cheap €3.5 million deal after their massive spending over the summer. Conte has been an admirer of the player and wanted him in his Juventus team before Allegri took over. Cuadrado is the perfect player for his 3-5-2 formation.

However, Conte no longer seems to rely on his characteristic 3-5-2 formation, which he heavily relied on for the Italian national team at the Euros. However these are still early days to decide which formation the Italian tactician will be sticking to.

Needless to say, he is more flexible than he was two years ago and certainly will not hesitate to use the bench if he needs so. Cuadrado will mostly start in the Chelsea bench and will be a squad rotation player, provided Conte does rotate his squad. The ex-Bari manager was notorious, in his early days, of not rotating his squad and using his bench players.

Fatigue was one of the reasons why his Juventus side could never do well in the Champions League. Juventus crashed out to Bayern Munich and Galatasaray in the round of sixteen and the group stages respectively when he was in charge.

Juve: new Cuadrado meeting

http://www.football-italia.net/90563/juve-new-cuadrado-meeting?

Aug 29, 2016

Juventus have a meeting today with Chelsea as Juan Cuadrado insists he wants a return to Serie A.

The Bianconeri seem to have given up on signing Paris Saint-Germain's Blaise Matuidi, but not on picking up one last reinforcement.

The former Fiorentina player could be a strong addition to the roster, and he currently doesn't seem to be part of Antonio Conte's technical project.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, he has repeatedly made manifest his desire to leave the Blues and join the Old Lady.

The two clubs are expected to have a meeting along with the player's agent today, in an effort to find an appropriate deal and take Cuadrado down to Serie A before the closing of the transfer window.

Report: Juan Cuadrado wants to return

to Serie A, not stay at Chelsea this season

http://www.blackwhitereadallover.com/2016/8/29/12688594/juan-cuadrado-

chelsea-juventus-2016-serie-a-epl-summer-transfer-windows

Aug 29, 2016

While we wait for Juventus’ transfer generals, Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici, to hammer out the details of potentially having central midfielder being signed, we know the club is still trying to get things done on the Juan Cuadrado front.

Dry loan deal?

Loan deal with an option to buy?

Where it will stop, nobody knows!

But, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport on Monday morning, one thing about Cuadrado is certain — he’s got a big-time desire to return to Serie A (again) and have that Italian team he plays for be Juventus (again). Considering that his future at Chelsea seems rather bleak after not being called up once again by new Blues manager Antonio Conte, a return to Italy may be the Colombian’s best shot at regular playing time if he wants to play at a team that wants him before the January transfer window arrives.

Logic, there’s plenty of it going on.

The one sticking point, as seems to be the case in just about all of Juve and Chelsea’s negotiations is just how the deal is constructed. To the surprise of no one who can read the writing on the wall, Chelsea want a deal that sees Cuadrado’s future sealed beyond just the 2016-17 season. Translation: If Cuadrado were to join Juventus on a loan deal, Chelsea wants there to be an obligation attached to it.

To date, what has been reported is that while Juventus are potentially open to signing Cuadrado on a loan-with-option-to-buy basis, a single-season loan deal with a fee of €4 million or €5 million has been put on the table. Talks between Juventus and Chelsea are scheduled to try and find some kind of framework for a deal, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. What comes out of it obviously remains to be seen.

Maybe the fact that there’s less than five days left in the summer transfer window will put some kind of urgency into negotiations. Hopefully, for the sake of this not dragging on much further, that will happen. Because if something doesn’t happen, then Cuadrado is looking at a time with Chelsea that probably looks a lot like what things were like when he first arrived in London.

RUMOURS: Juventus to make final move for Chelsea's Cuadrado

The 28-year-old Colombian is keen to push through a deal to the Turin side

having not been used by the Blues so far this season.

Aug 29, 2016

Juventus are set to make one final bid for Chelsea's Juan Caudrado, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Colombia international made 40 appearances for the Turin side during his loan spell last season but returned to Antonio Conte's squad ahead of the 2016-17 Premier League campaign.

However, the Italian coach is yet to select Cuadrado this season and as such the attacker has told the club he would like a return to the Serie A champions.

Chelsea open to Cuadrado return

http://www.football-italia.net/90601/chelsea-open-cuadrado-return

Aug 29, 2016

Reports suggest Chelsea have opened-up to the idea of Juan Cuadrado returning to Juventus.

The Bianconeri have been trying to bring the Colombian international back to Turin after this loan spell last season, but manager Antonio Conte was blocking any deal.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting a small breakthrough, with the English club now willing to negotiate.

It must be stressed that the deal is far from complete, as the two clubs must work out the finer details of the operation.

Previous reports have indicated that the Old Lady want another loan with no obligation to buy, while Chelsea wants a mandatory buyout next summer.

Cuadrado close to Juventus return

http://www.football-italia.net/90648/cuadrado-close-juventus-return?

Aug 30, 2016

Juan Cuadrado is moving closer to a Juventus return, with reports an agreement with Chelsea is near.

The winger spent last season on loan with the Bianconeri, but there was no buyout clause in the deal and he returned to Stamford Bridge this summer.

New manager Antonio Conte has been a fan of the Colombian for some time, and wanted to keep him in London.

However, the player himself is keen on a return to Italy, and Juve have been negotiating to bring him back on another loan deal.

Following more talks today, Gianluca Di Marzio’s website is reporting that an agreement is getting closer and closer.

It’s expected that the Old Lady will agree to another loan deal, but with a mandatory buyout clause linked to the number of games Cuadrado plays this season.

SportMediaset is also reporting that a deal is close, and agrees it will be a loan with obligation to buy.

Juventus secure loan agreement with Chelsea for Cuadrado

The 28-year-old will rejoin the Italian champions, who will sign him permanently for £20 million

next summer, after the details of the transfer were ironed out in London on Tuesday.

Juan Cuadrado will complete a loan move from Chelsea to Juventus in the next 24 hours after the clubs agreed a deal on Tuesday, Goal can reveal.

The Bianconeri have attempted to re-sign the Colombian winger, who won an Italian double with them on loan last season, all summer.

Negotiations had appeared to bog down on multiple occassions but it appears there has been significant progress made, as Chelsea are now prepared to send him back to Turin on loan with obligation to buy.

The Blues have been convinced to release Cuadrado after Juventus agreed to a £20 million compulsory purchase option which will be linked to the number of appearances he makes.

Chelsea will also receive an immediate loan fee of £3m for the player who made a total of 40 appearances in all competition for the Italian champions last term.

Cuadrado's agent, Alessandro Lucci, met with Stamford Bridge officials in London on Tuesday after a successful meeting with Juventus directors on August 18 to renew the loan.

Antonio Conte had not wanted to lose the winger – having previously tried to sign him when he was Juventus manager – but failed to convince the 28-year-old to stay at Stamford Bridge, with his family preferring a return to Italy.

TRANSFER RUMOUR: JUAN CUADRADO CLOSE

TO SEALING A RETURN TO JUVENTUS

Despite Conte’s attempts to block Juan Cuadrado’s move to Juventus, reports in Italy claim that he is close to

securing the same. Juventus will sign the player on loan with an option to purchase at the end of his loan term.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Cuadrado is inching closer to Juventus as the Old Lady is optimistic of securing his signature in the coming hours. The formula is of loan with an obligation to purchase, which is tied to a small number of appearances he makes for Juventus, similar to that of the Simone Zaza deal with West Ham.

Chelsea’s Loans

Chelsea look set to secure Marcos Alonso from Fiorentina according to reports, which is probably the reason why they are now eager to let Cuadrado go to Juventus. The 25-year-old Spaniard, who is also going to be purchased from Fiorentina just like Cuadrado, can play a number of positions including wing-back and centre back.

Understandably therefore, Chelsea having secured their depth in the backline can afford to let Cuadrado go who doesn’t fit the new system that Conte is trying at Stamford Bridge.

Moreover, Metro reported that Cuadrado’s agent Alessandro Lucci has let Antonio Conte know of the players wishes to leave despite the manager eagerly wanting the 28 year old Colombian.

It looks as if Conte will never get a chance to field Cuadrado in his lineup, which is tragic, since the tactician is so fond of him.

There are doubts regarding Cuadrado getting an immediate starting spot at Juventus as the Bianconeri has since then become a powerhouse of talents, signing the likes of Marko Pjaca and Dani Alves. Both can play in the right wing in addition to Stephan Lichtsteiner.

Moreover, with the players available at his disposal, Max Allegri might abandon the 3-5-2 formation altogether which is best suited to Cuadrado’s talents, and switch to a more attacking 4-3-3 formation utilising the attacking wingers he has at his disposal.

Juventus strike Cuadrado deal

Aug 30, 2016

Several Italian sources note Chelsea winger Juan Cuadrado will return to Juventus on loan for €5m with option to buy for €20m.

The Colombian already spent last season on loan in Turin and was determined to make it back there, as he never settled in London.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Mediaset Premium and Goal Italia, among others, a deal has essentially been struck this evening.

He’ll be allowed to go on loan for €5m with option to buy for another €20m.

Crucially, the option will become obligatory if Cuadrado makes a certain number of appearances during the season.

It'll be a busy deadline day for Juve, as Axel Witsel is also flying in for a medical.

Reports: Juventus, Chelsea agree to deal for Juan Cuadrado

juventus-chelsea-2016-serie-a-epl-summer-transfer-rumors

The haggling over Juan Cuadrado’s future is over. No more reports of Chelsea being mad, no more reports of Juventus standing firm on a price Chelsea doesn’t agree with. None of that. It’s time to see a player who played a big role last season come back to Juve just a couple months after he headed back to merry old England.

According to a handful of media outlets in Italy, Chelsea and Juventus have finally agreed to a deal that will see Cuadrado return to Turin for a second season — and likely more than that. The details? An initial loan deal worth €5 million and then a mandatory buy clause worth another €20 million that will be activated next summer. (Some say the option is obligatory right off the bat, others saying it will kick in after a certain number of appearances. We’ll see when the official word comes across.)

Regardless...

Chelsea gets the money they wanted for Cuadrado.

Cuadrado gets the return to Italy he so thoroughly wanted.

Juventus and manager Max Allegri get a player they’ve always thought very highly of no matter if it’s as a starter or off the bench.

Everybody’s happy! How about that, folks?

Cuadrado could never truly crack into the fold at Chelsea after the Blues shelled out big money for him in the January transfer window of 2015. The former Fiorentina winger then returned to the country where he made his name and played an influential role in Juve’s rebound from its early-season struggles. Playing as both a winger and a wingback, Cuadrado scored some important goals — Hi, Derby della Mole — that ensured Juve three points.

But when he headed back to England after Juve didn’t pick up his buy option earlier this summer, it wasn’t sure if he would return. Throw into the fact that his new manager, Antonio Conte, is a known Cuadrado admirer and you have a situation where the initial odds didn’t exactly favor a second season with Juventus.

So much for all of that.

Now, Cuadrado and his luscious hair is back in Turin. Allegri gets even more tactical flexibility than he already does. Not a bad player to have on the roster, that’s for sure.
