  1. Tevez deserves Argentina recall - Allegri The 30-year-old celebrated his return to the international fold with two goals against Parma and his coach has hailed his commitment and quality. Nov 10, 2014 Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri says that Carlos Tevez richly deserves his recall to the Argentina set-up. The former Manchester City striker scored twice in the Bianconeri's 7-0 demolition of Parma on Sunday, including a stunning solo effort which saw him run the length of the pitch before firing home. The 30-year-old was handed a place in Gerardo Martino's latest national squad - his first since 2011 - and Allegri believes it is a just reward. "Tevez scored an extraordinary goal," he is quoted as saying by the club's official website. "It was something he needed because it had been a while since he last scored. He's an example for the way he trains and he's celebrated his richly deserved call-up to the Argentina squad in the best possible way." Fernando Llorente and Alvaro Morata also found the net twice in the Turin rout and Allegri believes he has great options and variety in attack. "We've got an excellent group of strikers, from the 'older' players like Tevez and Llorente, to the younger ones like [Kingsley] Coman and Morata. "We had a couple of issues in the first 15 minutes, but then we broke the deadlock and the lads read the game well. I'm very happy."

Tevez, 30, had the whole Juventus Stadium on their feet applauding an excellent goal which he said afterwards was "all planned." Few supporters could have predicted what was to come when the forward, who returns to international duty with Argentina for the first time in nearly three-and-a-half years this week, picked up the ball 10 yards inside his own half. "I knew that I just had to free myself from my marker," Tevez told Sky Sport Italia. "Then I just had to win another one-on-one and shift the ball to the right. I knew which way to send it past the goalkeeper because I was coming so fast at him that he had no chance of diving. It was all planned. "It's been a beautiful week for me and returning to the national team now is my reward." The standing ovation for Tevez's strike continued to sound around the stadium, almost right up until the moment he added his second (and Juve's fifth) eight minutes later in a comprehensive 7-0 win which cemented the Bianconeri's place at the summit of Serie A. "It was a great game from the lads," Juve coach Massimiliano Allegri told the club's official website. "Tevez's goal was extraordinary, both in technical terms and for the character he showed. "He needed that because he's not scored for a while now, but he's an example for the way he works hard in training and this is the best way for him to celebrate a thoroughly deserved call-up to the national team." Tevez's brace means he has now scored eight goals in 10 Serie A games this season, and 10 from 14 in all competitions. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

JUVENTUS - PARMA 7 - 0 Fernando Llorente (23') Stephan Lichtsteiner (29') Fernando Llorente (36') Carlos Tévez (50') Carlos Tévez (58') Álvaro Morata (76') Álvaro Morata (88') Sunday, November 9th, 2014 - 3:00 PM Juventus Stadium, Turin Referee: Carmine Russo Juventus impress in rout of Parma as Allegri gets comfortable in charge Nov 9, 2014 On Alessandro Del Piero's 40th birthday, Juventus rediscovered their efficiency against Parma, winning 7-0 at home to send a clear signal to their challengers. The last time the Old Lady managed such a score-line was 31 years ago, in 1983. Deployed in a 4-3-2-1 formation, they played with Antonio Conte's intensity and Massimiliano Allegri's tactical intelligence, exploiting space, stretching the field and making the most of Parma's ineptitude at the back. The Gialloblu have never conceded more than five goals in Serie A but today a record was broken as the visitors played the kind of game that perfectly explained why they have the worst defensive record in Serie A. Unorganised, inattentive and overwhelmed, Juve's sheer fluidity and freedom going forward was simply too much for them to contain. This was not the Bianconeri's best line-up but it didn't need to be. The interpretation of the "Christmas tree formation" encouraged runs from midfield, with plenty of lateral cover and the ability to overwhelm. There were simply too many bodies venturing forward that players like Stephan Lichtsteiner were barely tracked, leaving the wing-back to enjoy the game of his life as he scored and created on a perfect afternoon for the Italian champions. In essence, the Ducali made life very easy for the Old Lady. With absolutely no resistance from midfield and no player capable of pressing or closing down the opponent, Juventus penetrated the final third with ease. Despite the fact that Parma regularly had plenty of men at the back, their naivety meant they all occupied the central area, almost in a cluster, allowing the Old Lady to enjoy time and space in the wide areas as they fell deeper and deeper -- this was especially true of Juve's third goal. Even when Parma managed to gain possession they were quick to concede it, inaccuracy ruining their attacking game plan. In truth, had their midfield been able to control the game somewhat better, they may have indeed scored a goal in the first half considering the pace they boast and the intelligent movement of Antonio Cassano going forward. After all, Juventus have yet to find total tactical balance in this formation, at times ceding too much space to the opponent. However, with Gianluigi Buffon available to make a good save and an attacking philosophy that barely allowed the visitors to breathe, Juventus were always going to enjoy themselves in this match. Fernando Llorente seems to have recovered his confidence. Having already opened his goalscoring account this season, he notched Juve's first on the day before managing another. However, it was Carlos Tevez' goal that deserved a thousand compliments at the start of the second half. Demonstrating hunger, technique and impressive strength, he grabbed possession, dribbled all the way from his own half and beat three men to score a magnificent goal -- Juve's fourth on the day. The home fans were on their feet applauding the Argentine's majesty, grateful that the man who donned the no.10 shirt after Ale also possesses wicked skill on the ball. The maestro eventually made way for Kingsley Coman before Llorente came off for Alvaro Morata -- another impressive forward who managed to grab a brace in the game. In truth, there is little to learn from matches such as Sunday's. Parma simply didn't show up nor were they good enough on the day to contain the pressure. However, such a clinical demonstration will hopefully encourage Allegri to deploy more courageous formations in Serie A and beyond, especially against sides that aren't expected to attack ferociously. The change in shape not only allowed the Bianconeri to truly enjoy the game and the freedom to surge ahead but it allowed for greater efficiency in front of goal. Well done to the coach -- he seems to finally be transmitting his own ideals to the club and ensured a motivated performance from a squad that had played a tough game in Europe midweek. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

JUVENTUS - PARMA 7 - 0 Fernando Llorente (23') Stephan Lichtsteiner (29') Fernando Llorente (36') Carlos Tévez (50') Carlos Tévez (58') Álvaro Morata (76') Álvaro Morata (88') Sunday, November 9th, 2014 - 3:00 PM Juventus Stadium, Turin Referee: Carmine Russo Juventus vs. Parma: Winners and Losers from Serie A Game Nov 9, 2014 Parma travelled to Juventus Stadium for the third time on Sunday, fully aware they had lost on each previous visit. Having been defeated 4-1 in the competitive debut of Juve’s state-of-the-art home, Roberto Donadoni’s men knew they would face another arduous afternoon against the Bianconeri. “Juve are the strongest team in Serie A and we must go to Turin with a great performance,” the coach told reporters at his pre-match press conference, per Football Italia. While the recent form of the reigning champions had been cause for concern, no club has suffered as much as Parma this term. The Ducali enjoyed a successful 2013-14, finishing in sixth place in Serie A and securing qualification for the Europa League. However, failure to pay taxes amounting to approximately €300,000 saw their place handed to Torino, per ESPN, and the current season has seen them struggle significantly. With a number of key players—including Jonathan Biabiany, Mattia Cassani and Gabriel Paletta—missing, they had won just two of their opening 10 games of the campaign. Having won against both Empoli and Olympiacos last week, Juventus would add yet another victory, running out emphatic winners in a 7-0 rout. The following pages contain a glimpse of the winners and losers from this encounter. Take a look at the best and worst individual displays from this afternoon. Winner: Carlos Tevez (Juventus) After beginning the season in impeccable form, Carlos Tevez had struggled in recent weeks, failing to build on his tally of eight goals in his first eight appearances. After enduring six games in which he had not found the back of the net, the 30-year-old struck twice against Parma. “We’ve been wasting a lot of opportunities recently,” Tevez said to Mediaset after the game (h/t Football Italia). “So we made up for it today and we[re] perfect in front of goal.” Having also earned a recall to the Argentina squad after a three-year absence, the striker can enter the international break filled with confidence. Winner: Massimiliano Allegri (Juventus) While the lack of fight from Parma can be debated, it is impossible to argue that the result was hugely important to Massimiliano Allegri. The Juventus coach once again opted to field his troops in a 4-3-1-2 formation, overcoming a number of key absences on the way to a convincing victory. With Andrea Pirlo joining the suspended Arturo Vidal on the sidelines, Juventus still dominated the game—and Allegri deserves huge praise for his decisions. Winner: Fernando Llorente (Juventus) Even though Tevez rediscovered his scoring form, the match was even more significant for Fernando Llorente. The Spanish striker has struggled this term, yet found the back of the net twice this afternoon in an impressive display. Winner: Alvaro Morata (Juventus) Despite being dropped to the bench in favour of Llorente, Alvaro Morata seized his opportunity against a struggling Parma. Introduced in the 70th minute, the 22-year-old netted twice to reinforce the excellent form he has displayed of late. The Real Madrid youth product has been rewarded with a call-up to the Spanish national squad for their matches next week. Loser: Roberto Donadoni (Parma) After a season in which they qualified for Europe, it is difficult to see a more underperforming side than Parma this term. The Ducali finished sixth last year, yet they are now rooted to the bottom of the table (having lost nine of their 11 games thus far). Roberto Donadoni is undoubtedly under pressure, as the coach has been unable to inspire his side as they limp to a string of defeats. “There is just a sense of impotence and shame after a game like that,” he told RAI immediately after the final whistle (h/t Football Italia), summing up a disappointing afternoon. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

Buffon - Made a great full-stretch save to deny Acquah in the first half but was otherwise a spectator. 26 S. Lichtsteiner - Fired home an exquisite effort from 25 yards to make it two for Juve and whipped in excellent deliveries from the right throughout. 19 L. Bonucci - Composed in and around his own penalty area, and strong aerially. 3 G. Chiellini - Strong aerial presence in both boxes and was very comfortable in possession. 20 S. Padoin - Filled in at left-back and didn't look out of place. Battled and showed real work rate, though his set pieces weren't great. 8 C. Marchisio - Another engine in the Juve midfield, the Italy international wasn't afraid to shoot or distribute crossfield balls. 2 Rômulo - Provided an engine in midfield and kept play ticking over. 6 P. Pogba - Full of running down the left-hand side and showed some nice touches. A constant threat in and around the penalty area, but spurned a late opportunity. 37 R. Pereyra - Dangerous in and around the box, but wasn't able to turn any half chances into testing the goalkeeper. 10 C. Tévez - Frustrating before the break but was excellent afterwards, turning home a smart strike and capping his outing with a brilliant run and finish. 14 Llorente - Fired home two first-half efforts to set Juve on their way, tucking home clinically from limited chances. A strong performance as the hosts' focal point. Substitutes 11 K. Coman - Bright in the late stages, clipping through a brilliant assist for one of Morata's goals. 9 Álvaro Morata - Stroked home one finish, before cushioning a beautiful volley into the far corner to grab his second. Parma 83 A. Mirante - Gifted Juve two goals with some terrible saves in a very forgettable afternoon for the visitors' goalkeeper. 19 Felipe - Stepped out to make a couple of good interceptions, but struggled against the relentless pressure of the Bianconeri. 6 A. Lucarelli - Didn't marshal his defensive line too well, playing Llorente onside occasionally. 15 A. Costa - Made one good challenge but otherwise chased shadows like the rest of his fellow defenders 33 A. Rispoli - Struggled defensively and wasn't able to break upfield often to support any Parma attacks. 30 A. Acquah - Went closest to scoring with a long-range drive denied by Buffon and was physical in midfield. 8 J. Mauri - Sat in front of the back four and worked hard to break up play, but couldn't offer anything forward-thinking. 21 F. Lodi - His set pieces weren't great, with the former Catania midfielder unable to set away any Parma breaks from deep. 11 P. De Ceglie - First player to be sacrificed, with the former Juve full-back failing to replicate his two-goal performance against Inter. 99 A. Cassano - A very quiet afternoon for the ex-Italy international, who received extremely rare service. 5 A. Ghezzal - Broke away a couple of times in the very early stages, but faded quickly. Substitutes 18 M. Gobbi - Delivered one cross from the left-hand side, which was claimed easily by Buffon. 31 M. Mariga - X 10 I. Belfodil - Introduced as Parma searched for a goal, but offered absolutely nothing. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

The only thing we can do today is apologise for the terrible embarrassment,” said Lucarelli. “It is the only think we can do to maintain some dignity. The only thing I feel ready to say, on behalf of the whole team, is that we apologise to our fans and to everyone, including the President, the general manager, the Coach and our family, because this is unacceptable. “You can lose to Juventus, but not like this. We can only take the blame and leave with heads bowed. In my career I have never been so ashamed to leave the pitch as I was today. I’d never been humiliated like that. “We lost confidence and when you lose intensity against a team like Juventus, they don’t let up. We conceded one, two, three goals without ever coming out of our own half. “We knew it would be tough to come here and get a result, but today we didn’t have the right determination to spit blood to the end, to at least try to respond.” After this hammering and with Parma losing nine of their 11 games this season, is Coach Roberto Donadoni at risk? “The locker room was absolutely silent. We all put ourselves at risk, so the players take responsibility for this defeat.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

JUVENTUS - PARMA 7 - 0 Fernando Llorente (23') Stephan Lichtsteiner (29') Fernando Llorente (36') Carlos Tévez (50') Carlos Tévez (58') Álvaro Morata (76') Álvaro Morata (88') Sunday, November 9th, 2014 - 3:00 PM Juventus Stadium, Turin Referee: Carmine Russo Juve 7-0 Parma: Seventh heaven for Juve as Lichtsteiner and the strikers make Parma pay Juventus dominated Parma to the tune of 7-0 in a rainy Juventus Stadium. Nov 9, 2014 On the 40th birthday of legendary former captain Alessandro Del Piero, Juventus welcomed Parma to Juventus Stadium. Four days after a vital Champions League win and missing several players through injury, the home side continued with Massimiliano Allegri's new-look 4-3-1-2 formation. Though initially Juventus lacked a bit of fluidity, with Parma struggling to get hold of the ball or create any kind of chances it always seemed a matter of time for the home side. Three goals in 12 first-half minutes put an end to the match as a contest but the reshuffled Juventus lineup never took its foot off the gas, with four second-half goals making for a gaudy 7-0 final score. After the first first must-win match of the campaign against Olympiacos, the only real risk was complacency against a Parma side that has conceded goals by the hatful. A steady November rain greeted the teams on Sunday afternoon, but neither the elements nor the long injury list slowed Juventus for long. Roberto Donadoni has begun to feel the pressure as his Parma remains mired in the relegation zone, and although nobody would blame him for losing in Turin, conceding seven will certainly increase the pressure on the former Italy coach. Parma never really troubled the newly-assembled four-man backline, which marshalled Antonio Cassano well and forced the mercurial Italian to pick up possession far away from goal and with limited support. The Juventus midfield was very fluid, with Paul Pogba and Rômulo frequently running beyond the strikers while Carlos Tévez and Roberto Pereyra were happy to come deep and help with the buildup play. Parma were thoroughly overmatched in every department, and Juventus' strikers took full advantage with Fernando Llorente, Tévez, and Álvaro Morata each grabbing a brace. In the end the game was even more comfortable than predicted for Juventus. The midweek exertions were barely noticed, and despite treating the second half much like a training session the goals kept pouring in Antonio Mirante's net. Now with two weeks off for an international break, the Old Lady will hope to recover names like Pirlo, Vidal, and Asamoah for Lazio and the vital Champions League game away to Malmö. While a 7-0 result is remarkable in it's own right, the fact that Juventus were able to achieve such dominance with a long injury list and with a new formation provides great optimism for the season ahead. MATCH SUMMARY The early stages were controlled by Juventus, with Parma resigned to hopeful counterattacks. Despite the control Juventus struggled to create good early chances, as the new-look lineup was perhaps too impatient in getting the ball forward. Lichtsteiner provided a sense of things to come when he easily beat De Ceglie and crossed for Pereyra, but the Argentine's acrobatic effort went wide of the post. Marchisio and Tévez had early efforts from range, but Juventus had trouble getting into the box for the first twenty minutes or so, with the team often hitting long balls to Pogba along the left flank. Parma even created a chance on 23 minutes when Afriyie Acquah and Abdelkader Ghezzal found space in front of the Juventus defense, but the Algerian's shot flew well over. From the resulting goal kick, Juventus got their first. Rômulo played a ball over the top looking for Tévez that was cut out, but only as far as Paul Pogba. The French international's thunderous shot was parried straight to Llorente, who finished confidently. Parma had perhaps their best chance of the game minutes later, as Cassano fed Stefano Mauri for a shot from the edge of the box, but Gianluigi Buffon was alert to push the ball wide of the post. It only took until the 29th minute for the second to arrive, as Parma stuggled to clear their lines effectively. Tévez' shot-cross was blocked but fell kindly for Stephan Lichtsteiner and the Swiss Express scored one of the goals of his career, a sweet outswinging strike that went off the post and in. It only took seven more minutes for the 3-0 to arrive, with Tévez and Lichtsteiner involved again. Rômulo surged upfield and fed Tévez, who played in Lichtsteiner. The fullback had time and space to pick out a cross, which Llorente tapped home. Mirante had justifiable complaints about the position of Rômulo, but he was never going to make the save. The second half started with another half-chance for Parma, as Pogba's pass went straight to Ghezzal who eventually fired high and wide. But soon Juventus had the ball in the net again, and it was a signature goal from Carlitos Tévez. A defensive clearance came to the Argentine well inside his own half, and he was off to the races, shrugging off Andrea Costa and gliding past Alessandro Lucarelli and Felipe before beating Mirante. It was a wonderful solo goal, and just reward for the Argentine who scored his first goal since the 3-2 victory over Roma. It only took eight minutes for El Apache to complete his brace. Pogba again tried his luck from distance, and again the shot forced Mirante to concede a dangerous rebound. Tévez was on hand this time to make it 5-0. With the game well in hand, Tévez and Llorente made way for youngsters Kingsley Coman and Álvaro Morata. Not to be left out, in the 76th minute the new arrivals combined for the sixth. Coman dropped deep to the left side to pick up possession and run at the defense before clipping a lovely ball over the defense for Morata to tap in. The French youth international was creating havoc, nearly creating another by beating his man and putting a killer ball across the box, but Pogba was slow to react. But soon after the seventh goal did arrive, and it was Lichtsteiner again creating the chance. The right back won a 50/50 ball and crossed for Morata, who adjusted his body well to volley in. 7-0 is perhaps an exaggerated scoreline, but Parma's dire defending combined with a welcome return to form for the Bianconero strikeforce made it a day to remember. LE PAGELLE Buffon: 6 Only really troubled once, the veteran netminder will be all smiles on his way to meet up with his national teammates in Coverciano. Lichtsteiner: 8 Rarely does a fullback have this much influence on a game. The Swiss Express dominated his flank, putting in dangerous crosses for two assists and scoring a wonderful goal of his own. Bonucci: 6 It was an easy day for the Juventus backline, who controlled the box and kept Cassano far away from goal. Chiellini: 6 Like his partner at the back, Giorgio will have much more difficult days to come. Contributed to Tévez' first with a sliding defensive clearance that turned into an assist. Padoin: 6 While not as influential as Lichtsteiner on the other side, Padoin showed his versatility and reliability by filling in for the injured Asamoah and Evra at left back. Marchisio: 6.5 Always alert to cover for his teammates, Il Principino kept things ticking over in midfield and had a few shots of his own. Romulo: 6 Another called in to deputize, the Brazilian ran all day. Often sitting next to Marchisio in deeper midfield, the former Verona and Fiorentina utility man did everything asked of him. Pogba: 6 Contributed to two goals with powerful strikes from outside the box, but was lucky not to be punished for a sloppy giveaway early in the second half. Pereyra: 6 The Argentine played behind the strikers, but was often seen pulling wide. His movement was more influential than his technique, but the strikers ahead more than made up for it. Tévez: 8 While in the first half he looked a tad desperate, in the second everything came off for the man from Fuerte Apache. Always available for his teammates, the returning Argentine international showed he can score them all, whether running from his own half or reacting quickest to a loose ball in the box. Llorente: 7.5 Finally off the mark in Serie A, the Basque striker took his season tally to 3 with two well-taken poacher's goals. Substitutes: Coman: 6.5 The young Frenchman picked up where Tévez left off, terrifying the Parma defense with his pace and trickery. Played a lovely pass over the top for Morata's first. Morata: 7 Newly called up for Spain, the striker found plenty of space between Parma's back three and made it pay with two goals. Mattiello: N/A Brought on for Marchisio with 10 minutes to go, the youngster filled in at left back bringing Padoin into midfield. Allegri: 7 Everything fell into place for Juventus today, and Allegri deserves credit for getting such a resounding performance out of a changed side. His switch to a back four has coincided with two wins in a row, and while there will be much more demanding opponents than Parma, today Allegri will live up to his name. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

The Old Lady brushed Parma a side with all three forwards scoring two goals each, with Stephan Lichtsteiner scoring one in a comfortable victory, which sees the Turin club remain on top of the Serie A standings. “I am happy with the game as they had very few chances, while we made so many today,” the Spaniard told Rai Sport following the conclusion of the match. “Tevez, Morata and me could all play up front together but you would need to ask the coach, we are all doing very well. “I do not think about the national team any more. “I had my opportunities but now I am no longer considered by the coach. “I will take this opportunity to rest and focus my attention on Juventus.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

The Crociati stay bottom of the table and have now conceded 28 goals in Serie A, by far the most in the league. “The result is quick to shout out to you, we came up against a strong Juventus side and we never really took the field,” Donadoni told the press. “There’s just a great sense of helplessness and shame after a game like that. “I am more worried about the results in these matches than our place in the table as that is just a consequence of our results.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

His three strikers, Carlos Tevez, Fernando Llorente and Alvaro Morata each scored two and Stephan Lichtsteiner finished the scoring for the home side. “We did very well in front of goal today, a lot of our shots found the net,” Allegri told Sport Mediaset. “It was important to keep our winning form and now we will work to get a result after the international break. Allegri then spoke about Tevez’s wonderful solo goal which made the score 4-0. “It was an amazing goal, he led by example,” the tactician said. “I’m happy with the team today, we have so many reliable players and now we have an international break to allow time to recover.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

A couple of Fernando Llorente goals and a completely unanticipated Stephan Lichtsteiner golazo can do that to a lot of people. "Hey, three goals to the good and we're sitting pretty. Somebody pass the popcorn and fire up the Abba on YouTube while we're at it." But then Carlos Tévez went weaving through the Parma defense like a freaking madman, scoring what is and will be easily one of the best goals we'll see in Serie A and/or European football this season. Let us watch this about 1,000 times on a loop. I don't think anybody with Juventus colored glasses on will object after the first couple of viewings. And then Álvaro Morata comes on for Llorente and scores a pair of goals within 12 minutes of one another. And then Kingsley Coman had beIN Sports commentator Ray Hudson wishing he was a Frenchman after he replaced Tévez midway through the second half and subsequently ran the Parma defense ragged. And then the number of goals under the Juventus logo on the Juventus Stadium scoreboard kept getting bigger ... and bigger ... and bigger. It was just one of those nights for Juventus where nearly every single thing went as good as it could have — and probably a lot more. This was a Juventus side without Andrea Pirlo, without Arturo Vidal, without an actual left back, and without two of its best central defenders. But what they still have is a strike force that had one hell of a day at the office against a defense that couldn't stop a damn thing even if its life depended on it. It was just the perfect storm, folks. I must say, though, this new system with a four-man defense Max Allegri has rolled out — Sunday it was more of a Christmas tree-like deal with Tévez and Roberto Pereyra supporting Llorente — is looking mighty nice two games in. Juventus' attack and midfield looks rejuvenated. The squad has its bite back, non-Luis Suarez category, and is just creating so much more than it used to. JuventusFC ✔ @juventusfcen .@OfficialAllegri: “We had a couple of issues in the first 15 mins, but then we broke the deadlock and read the game well. I’m very happy.” Who wouldn't be happy after a game like that? Well, maybe a couple people. Random thoughts and observations It's been over a year and a half since Juventus dropped points at home in Serie A. That's insane. Parma's defense is hilariously bad. Like, seven goals allowed twice through 11 rounds kind of bad. If you get goal alerts on your phone like I do, you might need to charge your battery after that game. Bing! Bing! Bing, bing, bing! Bing! Bing! Juventus since their loss to Genoa: Twelve goals scored, two goals conceded. I'd say that's a good ratio. What we're seeing now is the difference between Stephan Lichtsteiner the right back and Stephan Lichtsteiner the right wingback. While he wasn't bad by any means as a wingback in a 3-5-2, Lichtsteiner's game is just suited so much better for an all-out right back roll. I don't think there's any doubt about it at this point. Fernando Llorente back???? His first goal was a beauty, his second an easy finish off of Lichtsteiner's fine cross into the box. You just know scoring his first goal of the season got the confidence going again, and he's playing like it again. This is the Llorente we got so used to last year, and now he's got two really good games to build on heading into the international break. Seriously, Kingsley Coman, guys. I know he came in when the game was long over, but holy smokes he was impressive out there. I would like him to play more, Mr. Allegri. Álvaro Morata has four Serie A goals in just over 200 minutes. That's pretty good, right? Claudio Marchisio with another quietly impressive game filling in for Andrea Pirlo. You've found your future position, Principino. No need to look further. Seriously, Carlos Tévez's half-field run was amazing. The thing that started it all of will go unnoticed by a lot of people — how he won the ball back to start the one-man counterattack. The guy is just so good and works his ass off to contribute defensively. (Also, Pavel Nedved's reaction to Tévez's goal was AMAZING.) Gigi Buffon had one save to make. It was really, really good. Then he just sat in his recliner for the entire second half and thought of what he was going to buy with his latest paycheck. Tough gig. Two Paul Pogba rocket of shots led to two Juventus goals. What did they teach you as a young player growing up? Just put it on frame and could things can happen. They certainly did for Juve on Sunday. See what happens when Max Allegri gives a start to Simone Padoin? Yeah, good things. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

Nov 9, 2014 Juventus striker Carlos Tevez was a happy man after celebrating his Argentina recall with a double in Sunday's 7-0 demolition of Parma. The forward netted the Bianconeri's fourth after a sensational run from inside his own half and struck again eight minutes later, tapping home a rebound after Paul Pobga had seen a shot saved by Gialloblu goalkeeper Antonio Mirante. For Tevez, it was the perfect way to mark Gerardo Martino's decision to end his international exile after a three-and-a-half year absence from the Albicleste squad. "It was important to win today," the former Manchester City striker told Sky Sport Italia. "It's been a beautiful week. No I will enjoy the national team. It's like a prize." Bianconeri boss Massimiliano Allegri was also quick to pay tribute to Tevez after another inspirational display for the reigning Serie A champions, who sit six points clear of second-placed Roma having played one game more. "He had a great game, on a technical level and in terms of his character," the ex-AC Milan boss enthused. "In training he is one that is always most committed. He is very charismatic and he deserved that great goal. "I congratulate him on his national team recall." http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

The 47-year-old coach has largely kept to the successful 3-5-2 formation used by previous coach Antonio Conte since replacing him in the summer, but made the change to his preferred four-man backline in the 3-2 victory over Olympiakos in the Champions League on Tuesday. Lichtsteiner, who has moved from right wing-back to right-back in the change, told giornalaccio rosa dello Sport that he finds playing in the new formation easier and claims that the Old Lady are good enough to cope with the transition. “We play more with the ball,” said the 30-year-old.”It is easier because I have the game in front of me. “For the defenders I think three or four is not a problem, we are so strong at the back that our form is no different. “We had good games with 3-5-2, sometimes we were a bit unlucky, but we almost always created many chances. But in terms of possession is so much easier to play as a four.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

JUVENTUS - PARMA 7 - 0 Fernando Llorente (23') Stephan Lichtsteiner (29') Fernando Llorente (36') Carlos Tévez (50') Carlos Tévez (58') Álvaro Morata (76') Álvaro Morata (88') Sunday, November 9th, 2014 - 3:00 PM Juventus Stadium, Turin Referee: Carmine Russo Player Ratings: Juventus 7-0 Parma Nov 9, 2014 Parma travelled to Turin to take on reigning champions Juventus on Sunday afternoon, but as their defensive woes continued the Gialloblu were swept aside as the Bianconeri inflicted the Ducali’s heaviest ever Serie A defeat. Once the Old Lady took the lead through Fernando Llorent victory never looked in doubt and Stephan Lichtsteiner doubled their lead before the Spaniard netted his second. The second-half saw strike partner Carlos Tevez get involved in the scoring with a brace, the first a wonderful individual effort, before substitute Alvaro Morata added two more. Juventus Gianluigi Buffon – 7 – Concentrated - Even during a career as long as the veterans he will have had fewer quieter days than in Turin today but kept his concentration to make a vital save from Mauri when leading 1-0. Stephan Lichtsteiner – 8 – Storming - Despite operating in a back-four the Switzerland international refused to let it suppress his attacking forays and netted a sublime goal that was preceded by an equally impressive piece of control. Leonardo Bonucci – 7.5 – Solid - Rarely threatened by the Parma attack and as his boredom increased was often seen stepping forward into midfield making the visitors look even more overrun by the Bianconeri. Giorgio Chiellini – 7.5 – Strong - As with centre-back partner Bonucci there was little action on which to judge the Italian international but still gave an assured performance. Simone Padoin – 7 – Decent - Troubled during the early exchanges by Rispoli but kept it simple and will have few easier games for the Old Lady. Romulo – 7.5 – Tidy - What better game to replace the injured Andrea Pirlo but his distribution was assured and kept the tempo high as the Bianconeri looked to embarrass the Ducali. Claudio Marchiso – 7 – Impressive - Like Romulo his crisp passing helped dominate midfield and was unlucky not to open the scoring himself with an impressive drive. Paul Pogba – 8 – Dominant - At his wonderful best as the Bianconeri controlled and pressed with intensity and the Frenchman was constantly on the offensive. Roberto Pereyra– 7 – Quiet - Overshadowed by the performances of some teammates but that should not take away from an assured display by the ex-Udinese man. CARLOS TEVEZ – 8.5 – Determined - Was a constant influence on the Bianconeri waves of attack and scored a contender for goal of the season driving past three Parma players and slipping the ball past the goalkeeper. Fernando Llorente – 7.5 – Clinical - Seemed barely involved in the match at times but netted a brace with two clinical finishes. Substitutes Kingsley Coman (for Tevez 60 minutes) – 7 – Exciting - Continued the attacking assault after entering the match and provided an excellent assist for Morata to score. Alvaro Morata (Llorente 71 minutes) – 7.5 – Deadly - Only on the pitch for 20 minutes but did not hesitate in fear of the offside flag when played in by Coman and finished expertly passed Mirante and then added another with a controlled volley. Federico Mattiello (Marchiso 81 minutes) – No mark Parma Antonio Mirante – 5 – Abandoned - With his defence deserting him for much of the game it would be harsh given the weather condition to blame him for the opener which was palmed out for the onrushing Llorente, but he was at fault when doing the same for Tevez’ second. Felipe – 5 – Sleepy - His distribution from the back was poor and his ball watching for the opening goal effectively allowed Llorente to sweep unchallenged past Mirante. Alessandro Lucarelli – 5 – Feeble - A poor clearance from the captain eventually led to the Bianconeri’s second goal and with him dropping so far deep his teammates rarely ventured out of their own half. Andrea Costa – 5 – Woeful - With him not making any individual error that resulted in one of Juventus’ many goals it could be argued that he was the better of his two defensive colleagues, but that is not much of a compliment. Andrea Rispoli – 6 – Promising - Began the match well and looked to have the better of Padoin at left-back as he tried to push on, however, as the Gialloblu retreated so did his attacking threat disappear. Afriyie Acquah – 5.5 – Energetic - Displayed plenty of energy and willingness to recover the ball from a dominant Juventus midfield but was not up to the task and was too often seen in Pogba’s shadow. Francesco Lodi – 5 – Invisible - Like most of the Gialloblu midfield the former Genoa man was a passenger for most of the match, however, when the visitors needed his excellent left foot to retain some possession his passing fell woefully short. Jose Mauri – 5 – Quiet - Other than forcing Buffon into making a difficult save when still only trailing 1-0 he provided little else for Roberto Donadoni’s team. Paolo De Ceglie – 5 – Irrelevant - After a match-winning performance last weekend the wing-back failed to halt the runs of Lichtsteiner and was rightly withdrawn at half-time. Antonio Cassano – 5.5 – Lonely - Regularly making himself available to relieve the pressure of the hosts he was left frustrated by an inability to deliver him the ball and when he did some excellent hold-up was pointless with teammates unwilling to push on in support. Abdelkader Ghezzal – 5.5 – Lively - Some tireless running at the start, but other than a first-half shot well off target provided little more than relinquishing possession with fouls and running offside. Substitutes Massimo Gobbi (for De Ceglie 45 minutes) – 5 – Inconsequential - Tried to push forward but the game was already lost and found himself dragged back into the attempts to reduce the onslaught. MacDonald Mariga (Mauri 54 minutes) – 5 – Invisible - Clearly introduced to stem the flow through the Parma midfield and failed woefully. Ishak Belfodil (Cassano 64 minutes) – 5 – Muted - Looked as though he had as much hope in recovering any form of self-respect from the game when arriving from the bench as the travelling fans, his efforts highlighting the fact. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

The Ducali had never previously lost a Serie A game by more than a five-goal margin. “I had never lost 7-0 either in my career,” the Coach told Rai Sport. “These are games easy to comment on: we faced a great Juve side and we never turned up. “There is just a sense of impotence and shame after a game like that. We weren’t great after beating Inter and we are not a total disaster after this 7-0 defeat. “Am I worried that we’re bottom of the table? The Bianconeri had been repeatedly wasting chances so far this season and the Coach urged them to practice basic finishing skills in training. That appears to have paid off, as they banged in seven in Turin this afternoon, their first Serie A victory by 7-0 since 1983. “Everything can be improved with practice. We’ve got a great selection of forwards, including wise old men and young talents, but everyone can get better by practicing movements,” Allegri told Sky Sport Italia. “It was a good performance and after breaking the deadlock we controlled it well. Carlos Tevez scored an extraordinary goal and he needed that, as he hadn’t found the net in a while. It was remarkable both for the technique and his determination. I’m happy he’s been recalled by Argentina, as he deserves it.” This was the first match using the new Christmas Tree formation, so has Allegri permanently scrapped Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 system now? “No, I wouldn’t say that. It all depends on the demands of the game, the opponent and the players available. That system won three consecutive Scudetti and we started well this season using it too. “It is all down to the way you interpret systems, not just the line-up. Besides, I think our interpretation meant we hardly ever played with a pure three at the back this term.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

Nov 9, 2014 Fernando Llorente, Carlos Tevez and Alvaro Morata all netted twice as Juventus crushed Parma 7-0 to increase the heat on Roberto Donadoni. The Serie A champions were made to work extremely hard for their 3-2 win over Olympiacos in the Champions League on Tuesday, but they were back to their ruthless best as the three strikers starred on Sunday. Juve were 3-0 up at the break as Llorente twice knocked in simple finishes and Stephan Lichtsteiner drove a ferocious half-volley beyond the helpless Antonio Mirante. Massimiliano Allegri had something of a defensive injury crisis to contend with pre-match, as Kwadwo Asamoah, Patrice Evra, Andrea Barzagli and Martin Caceres all missed out. Yet Parma struggled to make any impact as an attacking force and Tevez netted twice in the first 15 minutes of the second half, first scoring an incredible solo effort and then pouncing on a rebound. Juve still had it in them to net two more as Morata, a 71st-minute replacement for Llorente, coolly slotted home 14 minutes from time and then added the seventh at the death to mark his first Spain call-up in style. Under-pressure Donadoni attempted to rally his men in the build-up, but Juve were utterly dominant right from the start, with Roberto Pereyra's over-head kick serving as a warning after just eight minutes. Parma struggled to come to terms with Juve's clever use of the ball in the final third and it came as little surprise when the hosts finally took the lead in the 23rd minute. Mirante failed to hold on to Paul Pogba's 20-yard effort and Llorente was on hand to tap in the rebound. They doubled their lead just six minutes later and in spectacular fashion. Lichtsteiner ran on to a loose ball 25 yards from goal and met it with an unstoppable half-volley, giving Mirante no chance in the Parma net. The Swiss full-back was integral again as Juve opened up a three-goal lead in the 36th minute, cutting an intelligent cross behind a crowd of players in the area to set up an easy finish for Llorente. Juventus looked determined to punish Parma at the start of the second period, despite already holding a comfortable lead. And Tevez single-handedly scored the hosts' fourth in the 50th minute as the Argentina forward ran from well inside his own half, dribbled past two defenders and produced a tidy finish into the bottom-right corner to complete a sensational goal. Tevez's second arrived eight minutes later as he tapped past Mirante from 10 yards after the goalkeeper could only parry a Pogba effort. Juve added number six 14 minutes from time as Kingsley Coman, introduced for Tevez, produced an audacious chipped pass over the Parma defence and Morata prodded past Mirante. The young Spaniard rounded off an incredible win for the hosts in the 88th minute as he steered Lichtsteiner's cross into the top-right corner with a precise volley. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

JUVENTUS - PARMA 7 - 0 Fernando Llorente (23') Stephan Lichtsteiner (29') Fernando Llorente (36') Carlos Tévez (50') Carlos Tévez (58') Álvaro Morata (76') Álvaro Morata (88') Sunday, November 9th, 2014 - 3:00 PM Juventus Stadium, Turin Referee: Carmine Russo Juventus put seven past Parma as Llorente, Tevez, Morata net braces Nov 9, 2014 Juventus reasserted their absolute authority in Serie A by humiliating Parma 7-0 in Turin on Sunday. The league leaders could not have sent a clearer message to title rivals Roma as braces from Fernando Llorente, Carlos Tevez and Alvaro Morata, and a fine strike from Stephan Lichtsteiner, reminded the capital club exactly what kind of machine they are daring to challenge. Relegation-threatened Parma were brought down to earth with an almighty bump - suffering their worst ever Serie A defeat - following last weekend's inspiring victory over Inter Milan and the Gialloblu meekly returned to last place having reached 30 goals conceded from only 11 games played in an utterly dismal campaign. Parma's various weaknesses meant they were never likely to cause Juve too many problems and they did rather well to keep the champions at arm's length until the 24th minute. After Tevez had blasted over the bar from distance Paul Pogba enjoyed better accuracy and when Antonio Mirante parried his drive into harm's way, Llorente arrived at speed to tuck home a neat finish. Jose Mauri got Gianluigi Buffon working with a fierce attempt off his right boot in the 27th minute but the effort gave Parma false hope and they soon fell two goals behind. Juve's second was a goal of real beauty as Lichtsteiner shaped his body to send the ball on a curving arc that was too good for Mirante and nestled in the top corner. The Bianconeri caught their breath before resuming their assault in the 36th minute, which saw Lichtsteiner streak down the right before picking out Llorente for an easy conversion at the far post. A fourth goal before the break might have been cruel on Parma, so they were grateful to Tevez as his shot on the turn missed the mark in the seconds preceding half-time. Abdelkader Ghezzal sparked fresh hope in the Parma team with his angled attempt immediately after the restart, but it was yet another false dawn. Tevez got the Juventus Stadium bouncing once again with a fine fourth at the end of a mazy dribble that left three Gialloblu defenders standing. The Argentinian doubled up in the 58th minute. Parma's centre-backs were caught ball-watching when Mirante repelled Pogba's effort and Tevez capitalised to thrash the ball home. Juve had long since secured a remarkable result but never abandoned their quest for goals. Parma enjoyed 18 minutes without conceding but shipped a sixth when Morata controlled fellow substitute Kingsley Coman's ball over the top before beating Mirante with ease. Goal number seven arrived two minutes from time, insult decisively added to injury as Morata tucked home Lichtsteiner's dainty pass to convert his own brace and compound Parma's misery. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

Nov 9, 2014 Carlos Tevez, Fernando Llorente and Alvaro Morata bagged braces as Juventus destroyed Parma 7-0 with a new tactical system. The Bianconeri were three points clear at the top of the table and fresh from a hard-fought 3-2 Champions League win over Olympiacos. That was their first game of the season starting a four-man defence and Max Allegri repeated the experiment with a Christmas Tree formation. Banned Arturo Vidal joined Andrea Pirlo, Andrea Barzagli, Kwadwo Asamoah, Patrice Evra and Martin Caceres on the sidelines. Parma ended their club record run of five consecutive defeats by surprising Inter 2-0 last week with Paolo De Ceglie’s brace. They missed Jonathan Biabiany, Gabriel Paletta, Marco Cassani, Cristobal Jorquera, Massimo Coda and Bidaoui. Parma wore special green jerseys, which will be auctioned off to raise funds for those affected by recent floods in the city. Naturally, the Juventus Stadium had banners and chants wishing Alessandro Del Piero a happy 40th birthday. Roberto Pereyra’s early overhead kick was audacious, but off target, while Antonio Mirante got down to palm a Claudio Marchisio daisy-cutter round the post. Antonio Mirante spilled a Paul Pogba screamer from distance into the path of Fernando Llorente to turn in from six yards. Gigi Buffon was at full stretch to deny Jose Mauri’s right-foot shot, but Stephan Lichtsteiner doubled Juve’s lead with a scorching strike from the edge of the box into the top corner. Incredibly, this was the Swiss international’s third goal in the last four editions of this fixture. Llorente completed his first brace of the season, as Lichtsteiner pulled back from the right for the Spanish centre-forward to volley in undisturbed from 10 yards. Abdel Ghezzal fired just over straight after the restart, but Tevez scored a divine individual effort. He started from his own half, surged forward to dribble past four different Parma players and deposit into the net. The Apache received a standing ovation from the crowd for that goal. Tevez got another goal soon after, as Mirante again only parried a Pogba strike into his path. Kingsley Coman chipped a pass over the top for Alvaro Morata to spring the offside trap, keeping his cool to side-foot past Mirante. At 6-0, this was now the worst defeat in Parma’s top flight history. Pogba somehow didn’t score a seventh, as Coman went on a series of step-overs to cross and the ball bounced wide off the ex-Manchester United midfielder’s shin from six yards. Morata did make it 7-0 with a wonderful cushioned volley on the inside of his right foot. Braces from strikers Fernando Llorente, Carlos Tevez and Alvaro Morata and a long range effort from Stephan Lichtsteiner destroyed the Gialloblu. In a changed blue strip, Juventus, as expected took the initiative in the match and nearly took the lead in the 9th minute as Claudio Marchisio tried his luck from range but it was well saved by Antonio Mirante. After two missed chances from Tevez, the home side did take the lead through Llorente. Paul Pogba fired a shot on goal which was spilled by Mirante, and the Spaniard reacted quickest and smartly dinked it over the keeper from close range. Parma were close to equalising moments later as Antonio Cassano fed Jose Mauri who curled an effort from just outside the box which was saved well by Gianluigi down low to his left. The Bianconeri doubled their lead on the half-hour mark through Swiss full back Lichtsteiner with a delicious goal. The ball fell to him around 25 yards from goal and he fired into the top corner. In the 36th minute the game was effectively out of sight for the away side. The Gialloblu were being exploited by Juventus on the wings and after Marchisio played it wide to Roberto Pereyra, the Brazilian sent Lichsteiner in on goal and the full back dinked into the box for Llorente to guide into the bottom corner. At half-time the game was already over as the Old Lady led Parma 3-0. Minutes into the second half, it was four for Juve. A fantastic solo goal from Tevez as he received the ball in his own half and shrugged off his marker, then ran at the Parma defence beating two and then slotting into the bottom corner leaving Mirante helpless. In the 57th minute, Tevez was first to the rebound from Pogba’s shot to fire into the bottom corner and make things more embarrassing for Parma. The away side could have and should have been down to ten men in the 72nd minute as Afriye Acquah scythed down Kingsley Coman with his feet off the ground but was only given a yellow card by the referee. In the 75th minute, substitute Morata made it six as youngster Coman played an exquisite lob pass over the defence and the forward took one touch before slotting under Mirante into the bottom corner. Pogba could have added to the scoring late on but the Frenchman wasn’t expecting Coman’s cross to reach him, and the ball hit him and went wide. Just before the end Lichtsteiner drifted in a cross for Morata who showed good technique to volley home to make the scoreline 7-0. The game ended there, with Juventus extending their lead at the summit of Serie A whilst Parma stayed bottom of the table but have now conceded 28 goals, by far the worst defence in the league. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  23. JUVENTUS - PARMA - Sunday, November 9th, 2014 - 3:00 PM Juventus Stadium, Turin Referee: Carmine Russo Line-ups: Juventus-Parma Nov 9, 2014 Max Allegri revamps Juventus against Antonio Cassano’s Parma, adopting a Christmas Tree formation. The Bianconeri are three points clear at the top of the Serie A table and received a huge boost in the Champions League midweek by beating Olympiacos 3-2. Allegri achieved that with a change of system, starting four at the back for the first time this season and definitively putting the Antonio Conte era behind him. Now the Bianconeri are embracing the new tactics with a Christmas Tree formation, as Carlos Tevez takes a supporting role with Roberto Pereyra behind Fernando Llorente. Andrea Pirlo was a late addition to the injury list with Andrea Barzagli, Kwadwo Asamoah, Patrice Evra, Martin Caceres and the suspended Arturo Vidal. Parma ended a club record run of five consecutive defeats with a surprise 2-0 victory over Inter last week. What made it even more surprising was that Paolo De Ceglie got both goals, his first ever career brace, and he faces his former club in Turin today. Cassano leads the line with Abdel Ghezzal, but Jonathan Biabiany, Gabriel Paletta, Marco Cassani, Cristobal Jorquera, Massimo Coda and Bidaoui all miss out. The Ducali will be wearing special green jerseys that are to be auctioned off after the game to raise funds for people in Parma affected by recent floods. 24. JUVENTUS - PARMA - Sunday, November 9th, 2014 - 3:00 PM Juventus Stadium, Turin Referee: Carmine Russo Pirlo out of Juve-Parma Nov 8, 2014 Andrea Pirlo has been ruled out of Juventus-Parma on Sunday, leaving Max Allegri with few options. This evening the Bianconeri released their 19-man squad list for the game, noting that Pirlo bruised his left thigh during training yesterday. The pain persisted today and tests ruled out any muscular lesion, but the veteran midfielder has been urged to rest for five days. This could also mean Pirlo missing the call-up for international duty against Croatia. Juve are already without the suspended Arturo Vidal, injured Kwadwo Asamoah, Andrea Barzagli, Patrice Evra, Martin Caceres and Luca Marrone. 25. JUVENTUS - PARMA - Sunday, November 9th, 2014 - 3:00 PM Juventus Stadium, Turin Referee: Carmine Russo Donadoni: 'Parma can hurt Juve' Nov 8, 2014 Roberto Donadoni feels Paolo De Ceglie set the path for Parma against Juventus. “Everyone in the team can score.” “Juve are the strongest team in Serie A and we must go to Turin with a great performance,” said the Coach in his Press conference. “What Parma must not lack is enthusiasm, as that is a very important component. Before the Inter game we had enthusiasm in preparing for it, which allowed us to take on that challenge with the right spark. We need the same attitude tomorrow. “We must realise that everyone in the team can score, like De Ceglie did with his brace against Inter. I have the utmost faith in my lads, confident they will play a super match.” Despite that 2-0 victory, the Ducali remain in the bottom two and in the middle of a huge injury crisis. “Daniele Galloppa is available, but not 100 per cent due to that injury he suffered two weeks ago. Palladino made steps forward, but his fitness levels are still poor. “As for Pozzi, he is very eager to return, but a step behind Palladino, so I’d be very cautious with him. It is a good sign that the players are so determined and willing to come back.” Absentees include Jonathan Biabiany, Gabriel Paletta, Marco Cassani, Massimo Coda and Cristobal Jorquera.
