ATALANTA - JUVENTUS December 22, 2013 - 3:00 PM Atleti azzurri d'Italia Stadium — Bergamo Referee: Domenico Celi MATCH PREVIEW Dec 21, 2013 Atalanta could end 2013 in the top half of the table, but in order to do so must halt imposing League leaders Juventus. http://markting10.nl/ The Bergamo club secured a last-gasp draw at Genoa, but their winless run extended to four matches. Andrea Bertolacci had fired the Grifoni into a 72nd minute lead, however Giuseppe De Luca popped up in the fourth minute of stoppage time to claim a share of the spoils. Nonetheless, the point does leave the Nerazzurri five points clear of the bottom trio approaching the Christmas break. Stefano Colantuono is hoping that late goal can be a confidence boost and says his side ‘will try to make life difficult for Juventus’. Mario Yepes and Cristian Raimondi are battling to prove their fitness after missing the trip to Genoa, while Gianpaolo Bellini is a long-term absentee. They do recover Riccardo Cazzola from suspension. http://markting10.nl/ Juventus crushed Sassuolo to make it eight wins in succession – all coming with clean sheets. Carlos Tevez sunk the newly-promoted club with a hat-trick, while Federico Peluso opened his season account. It was the tonic needed following their shock Champions League exit at the hands of Galatasaray days before. The Bianconeri were back in action midweek, cruising to victory over Avellino in the Coppa Italia Last 16. Sebastian Giovinco starred, netting the opening goal before assisting Martin Caceres and Fabio Quagliarella. All three goals came within the opening half-hour. http://markting10.nl/ Andrea Pirlo will be out until the new year due to a knee injury, but Mirko Vucinic and Simone Pepe are back – the latter after a year out – with Claudio Marchisio also returning having served a one-match ban. Juventus were 1-0 winners in this fixture last season, making it 23 wins from 51 Bergamo visits. The Orobici have triumphed just seven times, the last of which was in 2000-01. http://markting10.nl/ Keep an eye on: Fernando Llorente (Juventus) – The Spaniard has enjoyed a good two-month spell and his partnership with Carlos Tevez is beginning to take off. Llorente has four Serie A goals to date and will look to end the year on a high. Form guide: Atalanta (W L D L D) Juventus (W W W W W) Last season: Atalanta 0-1 Juventus Stat fact: Juventus have won on their last six trips to Bergamo, a run stretching back to 2004-05. http://markting10.nl/ ATALANTA (probable): Consigli; Scaloni, Canini, Lucchini, Brivio; Brienza, Carmona, Cigarini, Kone; Moralez; Denis JUVENTUS (probable): Buffon; Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini; Lichtsteiner, Vidal, Pogba, Marchisio, Asamoah; Tevez, Llorente http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

ATALANTA - JUVENTUS December 22, 2013 - 3:00 PM Atleti azzurri d'Italia Stadium — Bergamo Referee: Domenico Celi Juventus squad for Atalanta Dec 21, 2013 Juventus named their squad for the trip to Atalanta, missing Andrea Pirlo and Mirko Vucinic. http://markting10.nl/ It kicks off in Bergamo on Sunday at 15.00 CET. Pirlo and Vucinic are still sidelined by injury problems. Simone Pepe made his first appearance in over a year when Juve beat Avellino in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday, but he is not included in the squad here. http://markting10.nl/ Juventus squad for Atalanta: Buffon, Chiellini, Caceres, Ogbonna, Pogba, Tevez, De Ceglie, Giovinco, Peluso, Llorente, Barzagli, Motta, Bonucci, Padoin, Asamoah, Vidal, Lichtsteiner, Quagliarella, Storari, Isla, Rubinho http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

ATALANTA - JUVENTUS December 22, 2013 - 3:00 PM Atleti azzurri d'Italia Stadium — Bergamo Referee: Domenico Celi Bonaventura reveals Juve love Dec 21, 2013 Giacomo Bonaventura will start for Atalanta tomorrow and admits he “was a Juventus fan as a child.” http://markting10.nl/ The two teams face off at the Stadio Azzurri d’Italia on Sunday at 15.00 CET. “I was a Juventus fan as a child, when Marcello Lippi was on the bench,” the midfielder told the Corriere dello Sport. http://markting10.nl/ “We have already taken points off Inter and Roma, so it would be a great Christmas gift if we could do the same with Juventus. “In order to achieve that aim, we need the perfect performance. I’d take Carlos Tevez off the Bianconeri, though this is a team full of champions and it won’t be easy to get a result.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

ATALANTA - JUVENTUS December 22, 2013 - 3:00 PM Atleti azzurri d'Italia Stadium — Bergamo Referee: Domenico Celi Atalanta-Juventus Preview: Pirlo absent as champions seek ninth straight win The Bianconeri sit five points clear of Roma in second and have not been beaten by Sunday's opponents since February 2001. Dec 21, 2013 Juventus will look to further cement their place at the top of Serie A as they face an out-of-form Atalanta side on Sunday. http://markting10.nl/ Antonio Conte's men travel to the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia in fine form having won their past eight league games. The Turin club now sit five points clear of Roma at the summit of the division and will head into the mid-season break as leaders, regardless of the result in Bergamo. Juventus have an outstanding record against Atalanta, and have not tasted defeat against the Lombardy club in Serie A since February 2001, when Atalanta earned a 2-1 win. http://markting10.nl/ And Conte's side will be favourites to take all three points from this encounter with a team that has won just one of its past eight outings in the league. That victory came against relegation-threatened Bologna but, although Stefano Colantuono's men are in the midst of a mediocre season, Atalanta can take some hope into the game having suffered only one loss in front of their home fans this term. Inter, Napoli and AC Milan were among Atalanta's biggest scalps last season, and Colantuono will be looking for his team to produce another strong showing against one of the division's best and end their 12-year wait for a league win over Juve. http://markting10.nl/ Still Juventus present an imposing challenge, particularly with midfield stalwart Andrea Pirlo (knee) the only absentee in a near fully-fit squad, with Simone Pepe having returned to action against Avellino after more than a year on the sidelines. Juve may hold a commanding lead over Roma as they seek their third consecutive Scudetto, but vice-captain Claudio Marchisio believes it is vital that Conte’s maintain their momentum heading into to the second half of the campaign http://markting10.nl/ "This year will end in the best possible way, with us in first place," Marchisio told JTV. Marchisio rules out Juventus exit in January The midfielder has dismissed suggestions that he will be on his way out of Turin in the near future and says the Bianconeri are keen to win the Europa League. Dec 21, 2013 Claudio Marchisio says he has no intention of leaving Juventus in the January transfer window and that he wants to stay at the club for as long as possible. AMAZONIAN The 27-year-old was linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer and has been in and out of the side this season, with Paul Pogba emerging as the preferred option alongside Arturo Vidal in the centre of midfield. However, Italy international Marchisio stated he does not want to cut his Bianconeri contract short for any team over the next two seasons. "No one has ever personally come knocking at my door to take me away from Turin," he told JTV. "But every year, and especially in the summer, there are rumours concerning me. AMAZONIAN "But, in addition to this season, I have two more years on my contract with Juventus. I hope to play for as long as possible at this club, it is not my intention to change clubs." Antonio Conte's men suffered a shock group-stage exit from the Champions League earlier this month but, with the Europa League final to be played at Juventus Stadium, Marchisio is hoping the team can still lift a continental trophy this season. AMAZONIAN "We were really disappointed to go out of the Champions League, but unfortunately that was the way it went," he added. "Now we know that we have to at least have a go at winning the Europa League, even if we know that will not be easy. "We want to have the possibility of winning the trophy in our stadium, but we saw in the group stages of the two European competitions that there are some very important teams."

ATALANTA - JUVENTUS December 22, 2013 - 3:00 PM Atleti azzurri d'Italia Stadium — Bergamo Referee: Domenico Celi Atalanta v Juventus – Team News, Tactics, Line-ups And Prediction Dec 21, 2013 It’s the final round in Serie A before the league takes its annual Winter break and goes on a two week hiatus. Naturally, teams will have their intentions firmly set on finishing the calendar year on a high. For Juventus, that could see them extend their five point lead at the top of the league; while for Atalanta, a win could propel them into the top half of the table. http://markting10.nl/ It’s a special occasion for Juventus manager Antonio Conte, who returns to Bergamo and a stadium he once called home. Conte had a brief tenure with Atalanta and featured in clash-ins with the team’s ultras. Juventus’ last Serie A game saw them brush aside new-comers Sassuolo 4-0 while Atalanta grinded out a low-scoring draw against Genoa. Team News and Tactical Brief ATALANTA Stefano Colantuono’s side have had their capability to win games questioned recently with their four game winless streak the subject of criticism. It took a last gasp Giuseppe De Luca effort to snatch a draw from the jaws of defeat against Genoa. Atalanta will be sweating on the fitness of fan favorite Cristian Raimondi and Mario Yepes. http://markting10.nl/ Colantuono should deploy his favored 4-4-1-1 formation. A couple of changes are expected from the side that grabbed a stalemate in Genoa. Canini and Brineza might be drafted back into the playing eleven. Diminutive play-maker Maxi Moralez will play in the hole behind German Denis. Moralez is the link between midfield and attack but after a great season last term, he hasn’t quite been able to match those levels. One player though that is always a threat is German Denis. The former Napoli man is a man mountain with admirable aerial prowess leads the goal-scoring charts with 6 to his name. The supplier in midfield comes in the form of Luca Cigarini; a player who was once recognized as Andrea Pirlo’s heir but never quite lived up to that billing. Cigarini, however, has put in some excellent performances this year and could certainly cause Juventus problems with his craft. The onus will fall on his shoulders to provide the goods and pull the strings from the heart of midfield. http://markting10.nl/ Possible Starting XI (4-4-1-1): Consigli; Scaloni, Canini, Lucchini, Brivio; Brienza, Carmona, Cigarini, Kone; Moralez; Denis JUVENTUS Two wins on the trot after the extremely disappointing Champions League exit is just the response Antonio Conte was looking for. His side look almost untouchable in Serie A, the domestic league where they’re viewed as the Alpha dogs. You’d have to go all the way back to that Fiorentina game in Florence to spot the last time the Bianconeri failed to grab the three points. It’s an incredible record as they’ve kept clean sheets as well alongwith their 8 successive wins. Gigi Buffon has gone an extraordinary 730 minutes without picking the ball out of his net in the league. http://markting10.nl/ With the Winter break around the corner, expect Conte to field a full strength side. Andrea Pirlo remains the only absentee in an otherwise fully fit team. Juventus will be high on confidence and will have momentum backing them. They will be anticipated to hold the lion’s share of possession and carve openings in the final third. Creativity, of course, that has been provided in plenty by Carlos Tevez will be key to unlocking the Nerazzurri’s defense. Tevez has 10 goals to his credit and his chemistry with Fernando Llorente is what has been grabbing the eye. Llorente’s height and strength gives Juventus a new dimension going forward, a classic target-man that could be used as a battering ram against those doors that just won’t budge. Possible Starting XI (3-5-2): Buffon; Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini; Lichtsteiner, Vidal, Pogba, Marchisio, Asamoah; Tevez, Llorente http://markting10.nl/ Player To Watch Out For Paul Pogba (Juventus) Juventus PogbaThe Frenc h International has arguably been one of the best midfield players in Serie A this campaign showing all the talent that we knew he had. Since Pirlo succumbed to injury however, Pogba hasn’t been able to grab a game by the scruff of its neck. The ‘regista’ role hasn’t brought out the best in him but he still his overwhelming ability always makes him a threat. http://markting10.nl/ Prediction ATALANTA 0-2 JUVENTUS A trip to Bergamo is often sighted as one of the most tricky places a team can visit. Atalanta are a formidable opposition at home having conceded victory on just one ocassion. Yet, with the form they’re in and the ammunition they possess, the scales tilt in the Bianconeri’s favor. You’d have to be a brave man to put your money on Juventus dropping points. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

Tevez: World Cup? I'll be on vacation Dec 20, 2013 Carlos Tevez has reiterated his belief that he won’t be going to the World Cup with Argentina. AMAZONIAN The Juventus striker told reporters earlier this month that he wasn’t expecting to be on the plane to Brazil. And in an interview with a radio station this afternoon, the Bianconeri man has claimed that he ‘won’t be given a chance’, and also revealed what he plans to do after the Old Lady. “I guess I won’t be called up even if I score 30 goals,” he told Radio La Red. AMAZONIAN “I won’t be given a chance. It hurts to watch the national team. “The World Cup? I’ll be on vacation. I won’t lose sleep about it, I’ve already played in two. AMAZONIAN “I have a three-year contract at Juve and after that I’ll probably go back to Boca. I would love my children to see me play in those colours. “My love for that shirt has never changed – I would play for free.”

ATALANTA - JUVENTUS December 22, 2013 - 3:00 PM Atleti azzurri d'Italia Stadium — Bergamo Referee: Domenico Celi Atalanta out to continue home record against Juve Atalanta midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura is hopeful his side's excellent home form continues against Serie A champions Juventus. Dec 20, 2013 The two sides meet in Bergamo on Sunday with Atalanta out to spring an upset in their final game before the mid-season break. http://markting10.nl/ Despite sitting 13th in the table, Atalanta have lost just once at home this season in a run that has seen them beat Lazio and claim 1-1 draws with both Inter and Roma. Juventus have not conceded in an eight-match winning run in Serie A, but Bonaventura is still confident of testing the league leaders. "It won't be a walk in the park against Juventus," Bonaventura told Corriere dello Sport. http://markting10.nl/ "I expect a really difficult game as Juventus have made their opponents suffer for some time and they have dominated for years. "We managed to hold Roma and Inter to 1-1 draws (though) and it would be a nice Christmas gift to get a result against Juve. "We can take anyone on at home, but we will need a perfect game." http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

Tevez: Ribery should win Ballon d'Or The Juventus star has tipped the Bayern Munich winger to claim next month's prize while admitting it appears likely that he will miss out on Argentina's World Cup squad. Dec 20, 2013 Carlos Tevez believes the Ballon d'Or should go to Franck Ribery ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. AMAZONIAN The 29-year-old Juventus forward says that the winger's pivotal contribution to Bayern's treble of the Bundesliga, German Cup and Champions League makes him the stand out candidate for this year's prize. "Messi and Cristiano are compete for the award every year, but for what he's done last season with Bayern and the way he played, I'd give it to Franck Ribery. He deserves it more," Tevez told Argentine radio station La Red. All three will appear at next year's World Cup in Brazil, a tournament Tevez admits he expects to miss. AMAZONIAN "Even if I score 30 goals this season I don't think I'll stand a chance of being included in Argentina's World Cup squad. That's very clear to me. "I don't have to explain anything to the fans. It's not me who has to explain why I'm not playing for Argentina." "Sabella is entitled to his decisions. I have to be a grown up person and accept it. AMAZONIAN Tevez has not appeared for his country since 2011 when Argentina failed to claim the Copa America on home soil and hopes that he will one day get the opportunity to enjoy some happier memories of international football. "It would make me sad if my last image with the national team is that missed penalty-kick against Uruguay at the Copa America 2011 quarter-finals."

Marchisio targets Europa League Dec 20, 2013 Claudio Marchisio says Juventus won’t underestimate the Europa League following their Champions League exit. http://markting10.nl/ The Old Lady were demoted from Europe’s premier club competition after defeat at Galatasaray, but they will now be in a position to target a trophy whose Final will be played at the Juventus Stadium. “We were really disappointed to go out of the Champions League, but unfortunately that was the way it went,” the Italian international told JTV. “Now we know that we have to at least have a go at winning the Europa League, even if we know that will not be easy. http://markting10.nl/ “We want to have the possibility of winning the trophy in our stadium, but we saw in the group stages of the two European competitions that there are some very important teams.” Juventus will take on Trabzonspor in the next round of the competition and they could face Fiorentina in the last 16.

Pirlo waiting for signal from Juventus to extend Dec 19, 2013 Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo is reportedly waiting for signals from the Old Lady as he hopes to extend his stay with the Turin outfit. http://markting10.nl/ Although general director Beppe Marotta said on Wednesday that there would be no talks of a contract extension anytime this month, the player is said to have made Turin his home and doesn’t wish to depart the club in the near future. However, Sky Sports 24 reports that Pirlo and his agent were recently spotted at a dinner which was also attended by AC Milan chief Adriano Galliani. http://markting10.nl/ Whilst it is highly regarded that there was nothing but the mere exchange of greetings during their encounter, some outlets suggest that the player’s good relationship with the Rossoneri means that anything is possible if he fails to meet an agreement with the Bianconeri.

Paris Saint-Germain ready €40 million bid for Pogba Dec 19, 2013 Paris Saint-Germain will attempt to sign Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba in January, according to reports in the French press. http://markting10.nl/ The Ligue 1 champions have repeatedly been linked with a move for the 20-year-old, but the Bianconeri’s Champions League exit may now force them to sell the French international. Paris-based newspaper L’Equipe expects Laurent Blanc’s side to offer €40 million for the former Manchester United man in January, with the future of Blaise Matuidi uncertain. http://markting10.nl/ Pogba is cup-tied in Europe, but the Parisians remain keen on his signature as they look to mount a challenge on four fronts. L’Equipe suggest that Juventus will look to sell the youngster in order to recoup the revenue lost from failing to reach the last 16 of the Champions League.

English duo to fight for Marchisio? Dec 19, 2013 Manchester United and Arsenal will fight for Claudio Marchisio, according to reports in the Italian Press. http://markting10.nl/ Il Sussidiario have claimed this evening that the Premier League duo will go in for the Juventus man in January. David Moyes’ side have been heavily linked with a move for the Italy international in the past, but Arsenal’s connection with the 27-year-old is only just coming to the surface. http://markting10.nl/ After tying down Arturo Vidal to a long-term contract, and Paul Pogba and Andrea Pirlo rumoured to be penning extensions, the future of Marchisio seems to be up in the air. As such, the English clubs are believed to be preparing bids during the winter window.

5 Reasons Juventus Failed in the Champions League This Season Dec 19 2013 Juventus failed to qualify from the group stage of the Champions League, falling well short of the expectations before the season started. http://markting10.nl/ Signings of Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente were supposed to boost the one weakness of the side and help to at least give the Bianconeri the opportunity to stand a better chance of reaching the semi-finals of the competition after defeat to Bayern in the quarter-finals a year ago. It has been a massive disappointment, especially as the group this season was vastly easier than the one that they topped last year. So where did it all go wrong? Let's take a closer look. http://markting10.nl/ Lack of Tactical Variety Juventus may have upgraded their attack significantly in the summer, but they failed to address something that they were accused of last season in Europe—an overreliance on the 3-5-2 system. Antonio Conte does have tactical variety, having started his tenure at the club with the 4-4-2, which was interpreted by some as a 4-2-4. Quite soon, though, it was clear that the 3-5-2 system best suited the players at his disposal, and it has been a huge success. http://markting10.nl/ However, given its lack of use in Europe—particularly the Champions League—it was unclear whether it could translate to the European game. After squeezing through the group stage on top, facing a weak Celtic side and then finally being eliminated by a formidable Bayern outfit, it was still unclear how successful it had been. Conte appears willing to experiment with a 4-3-3 formation that he used twice against Real Madrid this season, but the players required to use this system on a more regular basis are not available to him. http://markting10.nl/ Simone Pepe's injury has particularly harmed Conte's ability to switch formations more regularly, as there are a real lack of advanced wide players in the squad. Next summer, it will be clear that wingers will be the priority in the transfer market, which will then enable Conte to chop and change his tactics dependent on the competition or opposition. http://markting10.nl/ Tevez Failure to Translate League Form to Europe Carlos Tevez has been a success to an extent since arriving in Turin, but just as it was in his time with Manchester United and Manchester City, his form in the Champions League has been poor. Tevez has scored 10 goals in 16 matches in Serie A, which is a great return, matching the highest scorer in either of Juve's previous two seasons in the league. http://markting10.nl/ In the Champions League, though, El Apache has failed to score in six appearances. Worryingly, that means it will be over four years before he breaks his drought, with his last goal coming in April 2009 for Manchester United against Porto. Tevez must improve his record in this competition if he is to maintain his role as the No. 1 option in attack. If he doesn't, Juve will look to utilise Fernando Llorente in his place and switch to a 4-3-3 formation, or sign another striker in one of the next two transfer windows. http://markting10.nl/ Pirlo Injury Andrea Pirlo did play in five of Juve's six matches, but his absence in the deciding game against Galatasaray on Matchday 6 was a massive factor in the club's relegation to the Europa League. Pirlo started the season inconsistently, often struggling for form, but the 34-year-old looked back to his best in recent weeks—especially in the Champions League match with Real Madrid at the Juventus Stadium. Without the maestro, it meant that the side lacked a regista to anchor the midfield and orchestrate possession, which is so fundamental to the Bianconeri's success under Antonio Conte. http://markting10.nl/ Paul Pogba was played in a deeper role in an attempt to replace the Azzurri legend, which hindered his ability to impact the match in the way he had done so successfully up to that point in the season. Juve struggled to look after the ball on what was a dreadful pitch—a tactic which would have helped to sap the life out of the game and take them toward the draw, which would have qualified them from the group. http://markting10.nl/ Not Enough Penetration from the Wings Part of the reason that there has been clamour for Conte to use a 4-3-3 formation is the lack of pace in the wide areas when utilising the 3-5-2 system. Stephan Lichtsteiner does not possess express speed, but his close control and ability to carry the ball great distances does at least provide the Bianconeri with a threat from the right. However, the Swiss international was recently injured for four-and-a-half matches after being subbed off in the home game with Galatasaray. http://markting10.nl/ Kwadwo Asamoah has some pace and power, but he is not a natural left-sided midfielder and his form has been erratic, which is also the case for Mauricio Isla ever since the Chilean returned from injury. Simone Padoin is workmanlike, but lacks the ability to change a game, as does Paolo De Ceglie and Federico Peluso on the left side. Both Copenhagen and Galatasaray were happy to allow Juve to dominate possession and crowd the central areas in their matches at the Juventus Stadium, forcing Juve to spread the ball to the wings, where they rarely hurt the opposition. http://markting10.nl/ Multiple Defensive Lapses in Concentration Against Gala at Home Juventus were guilty of defensive howlers against Galatasaray, which ultimately cost them three points against the side that would eventually put them out of the Champions League. Had they won that game, Galatasaray would not have been able to catch them in the final game of the group stages. Leonardo Bonucci's dreadful pass allowed Didier Drogba to bear down on goal, and Gianluigi Buffon's eagerness to come off his line only exacerbated matters, allowing the Ivorian to give the Turkish side the lead. http://markting10.nl/ However, Juve were able to claw their way back and go in front—only to switch off again. Giorgio Chiellini failed to challenge sufficiently for a header on the edge of the penalty area, and then Andrea Barzagli was caught ball-watching, which allowed Umut Bulut to ghost into the penalty area and equalise. http://markting10.nl/ This, ultimately, proved fatal to Juve's hopes of reaching the next phase of the Champions League. The Turkish champions now face Chelsea in the last 16, a side that Juve beat comfortably last season, which makes the elimination even tougher to take.

JUVENTUS 3 - 0 AVELLINO Sebastian Giovinco (7′) Martín Cáceres (17′) Fabio Quagliarella (35′) December 18, 2013 - 9:00 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Massimiliano Irrati Pepe: Juve nightmare is finally over The former Udinese player has made his comeback after more than one year out of action due to physical problems. Dec 19, 2013 Simone Pepe has voiced his delight with his return to match action for Juventus in the 3-0 Coppa Italia win over Avellino on Wednesday after a lengthy spell on the sidelines. http://markting10.nl/ The 30-year-old had last featured for the Serie A champions on 17 November 2012, 396 days ago, in a goalless Serie A encounter with Lazio and he has thanked the fans for their support during a difficult period. "It’s been a long way back but I feel I can say the nightmare is finally over," Pepe was quoted as saying on the official Juventus website. "I need to work to regain full fitness and reach the same levels as my team-mates. http://markting10.nl/ "I’m not one who easily gets emotional, but I must admit I felt it when I heard the crowd’s roar. I need to thank the fans, as well as my family and team-mates, for supporting me throughout." Pepe then went on to discuss Juventus' chances of winning silverware this term and stressed that they have what it takes to enjoy a successful campaign. "I think this team has developed even further since I was last in action, especially from a psychological point of view. There’s a long way to go, but we could certainly enjoy a satisfying season. Juventus have everything in place to do so."

JUVENTUS 3 - 0 AVELLINO Sebastian Giovinco (7′) Martín Cáceres (17′) Fabio Quagliarella (35′) December 18, 2013 - 9:00 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Massimiliano Irrati Conte snubs media following Coppa Italia win The 44-year-old was accused of ignoring a match-fixing attempt during the week and elected not to speak following his side's 3-0 victory over Avellino. Dec 19, 2013 Juventus coach Antonio Conte refused to speak to the media in the wake of his side's 3-0 win over Avellino on Wednesday. http://markting10.nl/ The former Siena boss served a touchline ban last term for failing to report match-fixing activity during his time at the Tuscan club. Ferdinando Coppola, a goalkeeper during Conte's time at the club, accused him of knowing of an attempt to fix a match between the Artemio Franchi outfit and AlbinoLeffe on May 29 and letting the players decide what to do. Conte had released a statement slamming the allegations, which were widely picked up by Italian media, and duly refused to speak to reporters after his side's victory in Turin. http://markting10.nl/ Meanwhile, Fabio Quagliarella scored his side's third goal of the straighforward Coppa Italia victory and spoke of his delight at having taken his first-team chance. "We’re pleased. Tonight’s victory belongs to a group that always trains well and does everything our boss asks of us. "The players change, but the result is the same. I’m also happy for my goal as it’s always satisfying to put in a good performance when called upon."

JUVENTUS 3 - 0 AVELLINO Sebastian Giovinco (7′) Martín Cáceres (17′) Fabio Quagliarella (35′) December 18, 2013 - 9:00 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Massimiliano Irrati Juventus vs Avellino - Coppa Italia match report Dec 18, 2013 Juventus eliminated Avellino out of the Coppa Italia with three goals from the first half. Sebastian Giovinco, Martin Caceres and Fabio Quagliarella all scored for the home team, and allowed them to advance into quarter-finals. http://markting10.nl/ This was the last game scheduled for current calendar year of this Italian Cup edition. Juventus welcomed guests from Avellino and beat them with 3-0. First goal arrived at 7th minute of the game. Fabio Quagliarella left the ball for Sebastian Giovinco who placed it with curly right-footer in the back of the net. Beautifully taken shot by Atomic Ant, as Juventus fans like to address him. Nine minutes later it was 2-0. Giovinco took a free kick from outside the box; Martin Caceres followed it with perfect timing, and directed the ball behind Avellino goalkeeper. Juventus was pilling up the pressure. http://markting10.nl/ With 35 minutes on the clock, Fabio Quagliarella scored Juventus third goal of the night. It was yet again Sebastian Giovinco who assisted for the goal, after another well taken free kick. Half time ended with three goals to none for Conte’s men. Second half was slow paced, and boring for the neutrals. Juventus fans, however enjoyed themselves on the stands, as well as the guests from south of Italy. They came in numbers, and filled up away sector of Juventus stadium. http://markting10.nl/ At 59th minute Di Masi showed some skills by stopping Quagliarella’s shot. Ten minutes later, Avellino goalkeeper saved Motta’s header after corner kick taken by Giovinco. It was an amazing save by Di Masi. With eight minutes left to play, Simone Pepe entered the pitch, substituting Sebastian Giovinco. Home crowed welcomed his return with ovations and applause. He was absent from the field for more than a year, due to injury. Lichtsteiner who substituted Motta could and should have scored at 89th minute, after great vision and pass from Marchisio, but he failed to hit the target completely. It ended with the same result as first half. Avellino is out of Coppa Italia. http://markting10.nl/ Score: Juventus 3-0 Avellino Scorers: Giovinco 7’, Caceres 16’, Quagliarella 35’ Yellow Cards: Bouy 82’ Red Cards: - http://markting10.nl/ Lineups: JUVENTUS: Storari; Peluso, Ogbonna, Caceres; De Ceglie, Asamoah (Bouy 68’), Marchisio, Padoin, Motta (Lichtsteiner 82’); Giovinco (Pepe 82’), Quagliarella. JUVENTUS 3 - 0 AVELLINO Sebastian Giovinco (7′) Martín Cáceres (17′) Fabio Quagliarella (35′) December 18, 2013 - 9:00 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Massimiliano Irrati Juventus 3 - Avellino 0: Initial reaction and random observations Dec 18, 2013 It was all setup for a lopsided scoreline. The two-time defending Italian champions against a newly-promoted side in Serie B. Regardless of how well Avellino was playing, it was always going to be an uphill battle the Biancoverdi. http://markting10.nl/ Turns out, Avellino never had a chance to start the journey up the proverbial mountain before Juventus totally took control of things. First-half goals from Sebastian Giovinco, Martin Caceres and Fabio Quagliarella put the game away a mere 35 minutes after it started. Juventus dominated the visitors, which isn't exactly surprising despite Juve rolled out the 'B' squad on Wednesday night. Following the script of Serie A champs vs. Serie B newbies, Juventus went up early, got a comfortable lead, and then took the foot off the gas. As we saw after the game when the two managers shook hands, there was a clear respect between the two clubs. Juventus should have won by a convincing margin, and did just that. Nothing more, nothing less. http://markting10.nl/ All of this with nine new players in the lineup. Not bad, gents. Business taken care of. Now it's on to the quarterfinals where Juve will meet either Roma or Sampdoria. I'll take Roma for 500, Alex. Random thoughts and observations •A lot of chatter on the Twitter machine before kickoff — and during the game — about not having any primavera kids on the bench for tonight's game. I guess I'm kinda split on the whole thing. The Coppa, at least as Antonio Conte has shown since becoming manager, is the chance for the reserves to get the playing time they normally don't get in Serie A. But at the same, Juve were playing a Serie B side, which really could have been a chance to give the youngsters some serious playing time that doesn't involve them going out on loan. http://markting10.nl/ I don't know. I'm not completely outraged and finding the need to throw things at the wall about it all. Maybe a little disappointed is the way to go. •Marco Motta, starting on the right wing, wearing the No. 16 jersey. Somewhere Mauro Camoranesi is shaking his head along with the rest of us. •Even with the score 3-0 in the second half, Avellino's traveling fans were having the time of the lives, singing at full voice. Pretty awesome to see no matter what the scoreboard said. Respect. http://markting10.nl/ •Juventus are on cruise control, passing the ball around the midfield in the second half when suddenly, the crowd starts going nuts. Why? It was because Simone Pepe started warming up on the sidelines. When the 82nd minute arrived, the oft-injured winger made his long-awaited return to competitive action. Probably the most meaningful 10 minutes on the field in a blowout win in quite some time. Welcome back, Speedy. OptaPaolo @OptaPaolo 396 - Simone Pepe's last game for Juventus was dated back November 2012: 396 days ago. Return. http://markting10.nl/ •Sebastian Giovinco: One goal, two assists. By my calculations, Super Seba had a hand in every goal Juventus scored against Avellino. Say what you want about it being against a Serie B team, but Giovinco was the most lively player during Juve's first-half blitz. Even more impressive considering how little he has played the past two months or so. •Martin Caceres just shows up and plays well whenever he's called upon by Conte. At the same time, he must love to score goals in the Coppa Italia. I like this guy.

JUVENTUS 3 - 0 AVELLINO Sebastian Giovinco (7′) Martín Cáceres (17′) Fabio Quagliarella (35′) December 18, 2013 - 9:00 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Massimiliano Irrati Bianconeri set up Fiorentina clash Antonio Conte's side cruised to victory on Wednesday night thanks to three first half goals and will face the Viola in the last-eight. Dec 18, 2013 Juventus set up a Coppa Italia quarter-final clash with Fiorentina after beating Avellino 3-0. http://markting10.nl/ The Bianconeri opened the scoring after just seven minutes through Sebastian Giovinco's wonderful, curling effort. The forward controlled a pass from Fabio Quagliarella on the edge of the box before shifting the ball onto his right foot and dispatching a fine effort into the far corner. It didn't take long for the Serie A champions to double their advantage. Six minutes later it was 2-0 to the home side, with Giovinco again at the heart of the goal. http://markting10.nl/ The Italy international delivered a fine free-kick into the penalty area which found the head of the unmarked Martin Caceres and the defender was left with the easiest of finishes. Juve were all but out of sight and with just nine minutes remaining of the opening period they all but booked their place in the quarter-finals of the competition. Another brilliant free-kick from Giovinco caused all sorts of problems in the visitors' box and this time Quagliarella was on hand to prod the ball home at the near post to make it 3-0. http://markting10.nl/ Juve's dominance continued in the second half as Avellino goalkeeper Giuseppe Di Masi just about held on to Quagliarella's powerful free-kick, while Stephan Lichsteiner should have scored when he steered wide one-on-one in injury-time. Antonio Conte's side couldn't add to their tally before the referee blew his full-time whistle, but their first half efforts proved enough and the Viola now await in the last-eight of the Coppa Italia.
