JUVENTUS 2 - 2 REAL MADRID Arturo Vidal (41′-PG) Cristiano Ronaldo (52′) Gareth Bale (60′) Fernando Llorente (65′) November 5, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Howard Webb (England) Attendance: 40696 ‘Juve deserved to beat Real’ Italian goalkeeping legend Dino Zoff insists Iker Casillas is the only reason Juventus didn’t beat Real Madrid in midweek. Nov 7, 2013 The Bianconeri collected a 2-2 draw at the Juventus Stadium in a spectacular game of European Cup football. http://markting10.nl/ “I’m very satisfied with Juventus’ performance,” the former Old Lady custodian and Coach told Calcio News 24. “Antonio Conte’s side gave their all against Real and the 2-2 draw is a little tight for them to be honest – they deserved a win. “Casillas made two or three high class saves and Real found the determination of Arturo Vidal and company difficult to deal with.” http://markting10.nl/ Juventus are now bottom of their group with just three points from four games, but they still have a chance of progression. “Things have changed in terms of morale at the club,” Zoff added. “Confidence is now high and I think they still have an excellent chance of reaching the knock-out stages.” Juventus will go through with wins at home to Copenhagen and away at Galatasaray.

Llorente only at 60 per cent Nov 7, 2013 Summer signing Fernando Llorente has assured Juventus fans that there is still much more to come from him this term. http://markting10.nl/ The striker, netted on a Bosman from Athletic Bilbao, is now starting to play more regularly after being used cautiously by boss Antonio Conte at the start of the campaign. And, after scoring a goal in each of the two Champions League games against Real Madrid, he’s told Tuttosport that he is still not near his best. “These goals give you confidence, but I’m still not in top form,” he noted. “Two years ago, I was offering a superior level of football in the Europa League. http://markting10.nl/ “I feel better with each game, but I know what I can offer and I’m aware that I can still make improvements. “Let me say that I’m only at 60 per cent…” Llorente netted the crucial equaliser in the 2-2 draw with Real in the week, a result which keeps their Champions League hopes alive. http://markting10.nl/ “It was a good result, but the important thing was that we showed we were on the same level as a great side. “I think if Casillas wasn’t playing, we would have won the game. He was extraordinary, especially in the first half when he made some incredible stops. “Now we have two tough games coming up, but I’m hopeful. We are working as a team and everyone is giving their all.”

Genoa had Buffon deal – Spinelli Nov 7, 2013 Livorno chief Aldo Spinelli has revealed he almost signed Gigi Buffon while he was in charge of Genoa. http://markting10.nl/ “Everything was already agreed between us at Genoa and Parma,” Spinelli told Tuttosport on Thursday. “However, Luca Bucci then got injured and Parma would no longer give him to us.” Buffon, who supported Genoa as a boy, subsequently joined Juventus in 2001 for a fee of around £32m. The Italian international, however, is coming towards the end of his career given that he is now 35-years-old. http://markting10.nl/ One of a number of ‘keepers who could one day take his place in the Azzurri net is Livorno youngster Francesco Bardi, who is actually owned by Inter. “Bardi reminds me of a young Buffon,” the Amaranto owner added. “He has enormous potential. Every week he is being watched by scouts from the two Manchester sides and other clubs. “I just hope that Samir Handanovic continues to do well at Inter so they decide to let Bardi stay here with us…”

Scolari would pick Totti and Pirlo Nov 7, 2013 Luiz Felipe Scolari says Francesco Totti and Andrea Pirlo would be in his summer World Cup plans had they been Brazilian. http://markting10.nl/ Speaking to the Corriere dello Sport on Thursday, the Brazilian tactician fuelled calls for the Roma captain – now 37 – to be recalled to the Italy set-up for Brazil 2014. “I like Totti a lot,” Scolari noted. “He’s playing well, he has unsurpassable qualities and a great affection for Roma. “Had he been Brazilian then he would have a great chance of being called up by me, but he is lucky enough to be eligible for a fantastic and spectacular national side. http://markting10.nl/ “Whoever is good enough for Italy could also play for Brazil.” While Totti quit the national side after success in Germany 2006, Pirlo has continued to inspire the Azzurri. “Throughout the world there are players who are head and shoulders above the others,” Scolari noted of the 34-year-old Juventus playmaker. http://markting10.nl/ “Pirlo is one of those who has marked an era for his quality, for how he treats the ball and for his ability to always find the right position on the field. “He would play in any team in any League.” Turning to the Italian side as a whole, the 64-year-old tactician is expecting great things from Cesare Prandelli’s men in South America. http://markting10.nl/ “Italy are one of the top candidates to win the World Cup in Brazil. I like Prandelli as a Coach and a man. He’s done an exceptional job in renewing the Italy side both in terms of tactics and spirit. “The Italy midfield plays the ball well and has elements who can develop the play, with long or short passes.” Scolari also confirmed the story that he was once considered as a replacement for Giovanni Trapattoni after the 2002 World Cup debacle. http://markting10.nl/ “I was in Italy in 2002 to talk to the Federation officials. There was a possibility that I would become the Coach of your national side, but I then went to Portugal. “A move to Italy in the future? My contract will expire after the World Cup. Italy is certainly an appetising place for any Coach in the world. Everyone would like to work in your country.”

Llorente not for sale Nov 7, 2013 Juventus director general Beppe Marotta insists the club have no plans to cash in on Bosman capture Fernando Llorente. http://markting10.nl/ The striker joined the club in the summer after his contract with Athletic Bilbao expired. Rumours in recent days have suggested Arsenal are showing an interest in possibly making a €20m bid for him. “But the player is not for sale,” the club official is quoted as saying by Tuttosport on Thursday. “He’s never been available. “He will stay here with us. There is great faith in the boy and he is reaching his peak condition. We’re very happy with him ad his progress.” http://markting10.nl/ Llorente initially struggled for action upon his arrival in Turin, but he has been used with increasing regularity by boss Antonio Conte. The Spanish international has one goal in eight Serie A games, but has struck twice in three Champions League ties – both of those came against Real Madrid.

Tevez: Scudetto is the priority Nov 7, 2013 Carlos Tevez has underlined that Juventus’ top target this season is the Scudetto and not the Champions League. http://markting10.nl/ Although the club are keen to go as far as possible in Europe, the Old Lady are looking to cement their title as the best team on the peninsula. “The first objective we have this season is called the Scudetto,” the summer signing from Manchester City told the media in his homeland. “We want to win the title because it would be the third in a row for Juventus. That would be a very important achievement, a proud moment in the club’s history. http://markting10.nl/ “And then there is the Champions League.” Juventus are joint second in the championship with Sunday’s opponents Napoli, just three points behind leaders Roma. “I’m happy with my transfer to Juventus,” the forward, six goals in 11 League games this term, added. http://markting10.nl/ “They are a top club like my previous ones – Boca, Corinthians, the two Manchester sides. I don’t see any differences. “I’m happy in Turin, it’s a nice city and the fans show me their affection. It is always a pleasure to hear your name sung.”

JUVENTUS 2 - 2 REAL MADRID Arturo Vidal (41′-PG) Cristiano Ronaldo (52′) Gareth Bale (60′) Fernando Llorente (65′) November 5, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Howard Webb (England) Attendance: 40696 Another Champions League Draw, But Grinta Shines Through Nov 6, 2013 This is what the Champions League is made for. After the contentious 2-1 victory for Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, Juventus were out for revenge in the return leg at Juventus Stadium in Turin. http://markting10.nl/ Both teams have been in fine form lately with Real seemingly able to score at will against any team that isn’t Barcelona while Juventus had outscored their provincial opponents 7-0 over three consecutive Serie A victories. As the game started, both teams switched shares of possession. Real seemed a sleeping giant, able to awake and pounce at any moment but for the time sleeping. Meanwhile, Juve were relentless through the first half once they got into their groove. They were creating plenty of chances, and had come very close to taking the lead 20 minutes into the first half as Carlos Tevez made a wonderful cross to the head of Claudio Marchisio – only for the effort to be saved by the leg of Iker Casillas. It was a wonderful display of reflexes from a keeper who has been having a tough time with his club lately. http://markting10.nl/ Towards the end of the first half, Paul Pogba took possession of the ball in Madrid’s 18 yard box, only to be fouled by a foolishly reckless tackle from fellow 20 year old Frenchman Raphael Varane. Referee Howard Webb awarded a penalty – a decision that may seem harsh to some but seems reasonable to me, given that Varane clearly fouled Pogba in the box, though perhaps it wasn’t the most committed of slide tackles. Llorente and Pogba - Juventus v Real MadridArturo Vidal converted the chance, and Juve cruised into half time with a 1-0 lead. They then promptly went into the second half without nearly as much intensity as they had played with in the first half. Cristiano Ronaldo scored seven minutes in to the half. This prompted a bit of a rebound from Juve, and they made some attacking ventures, but Real would score again thanks to a fine Gareth Bale strike. Juve were down 2-1 but only for about five minutes. Caceres crossed in a ball to the box, and Varane again made an error as he completely failed to nullify Fernando Llorente, who headed in Juve’s equalizer. It was the second goal against Real for Llorente, who has made great strides in returning to form. http://markting10.nl/ That was it for the scoring – but the game remained very entertaining. Conte waited quite a bit to make substitutions, and towards the end it was clear both sides were satisfied with the draw. Juve can also look to the performances (mostly in the first half) of players like Pogba and Caceres with great satisfaction – Caceres was at fault for one of Madrid goals but had a fantastic first half. Pogba was electric in the first half, and while not as dangerous in the second still very good. It was a great achievement for Pogba, to shine on such a big stage against such a big club. The two sides put on a fantastic match – and Juventus are still very much alive in the Champions League thanks to result elsewhere in the group. FC Copenhagen defeated Galatasaray, so Juventus still control their destiny. http://markting10.nl/ However, attention must now turn back to Serie A. Roma drew Torino this past weekend, so Juventus are joint second with Napoli and only three points behind Roma. Of course, Juventus and Napoli play this Sunday, while Roma plays 18th placed Sassuolo. Most likely the winner of Juve/Napoli will still be second place behind Roma – but they will have perhaps partially vanquished a second Scudetto challenger. A draw would be a bad result for both sides, especially if Roma win, so I think we can expect another exciting game this weekend. After that, there is the international break, and Juve’s schedule before the winter break features relatively tame Serie A sides, giving them a chance to focus on their crucial Champions League games against Galatasaray and FC Copenhagen.

JUVENTUS 2 - 2 REAL MADRID Arturo Vidal (41′-PG) Cristiano Ronaldo (52′) Gareth Bale (60′) Fernando Llorente (65′) November 5, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Howard Webb (England) Attendance: 40696 Italians with every reason to keep head high after Real showdown We could've controlled things for most of the match, yet we settled with just the amazing first 45 minutes. Nov 6, 2013 I did one of these rants for the first Real Madrid game review, why not do one for the second too. Not sure if you guys share this sentiment, but I feel like these two games were two missed opportunities to show the world that Juventus can beat even a team like Real Madrid. http://markting10.nl/ Is Juventus actually a better team than Real? Let's not kid ourselves here - Real is overall superior. But because football is beautiful like that, pit any two teams together that have something to play for and you just cannot predict the result. Especially when on one side you have a fighting team like our Bianconeri. After a disappointing result in Madrid where we all felt like we deserved a lot more from that game, the second round in Torino left me with a similarly sour taste in my mouth - regret. At halftime, I was in a huge personal struggle to hide my elation of our performance in fear we would give it all away in the second half. Which we almost did. But man, that first half was beautiful. Could it have been better? Yes, we could've taken a couple more of our chances and really put Real to the test. But the way we played, we fought, we suffocated Real in almost every sense...that was spectacular. Vidal's world-class penalty was the cherry on top. http://markting10.nl/ Then the second half came and our whole team sat back, inviting Real to score. Which, of course, they did. You can blame individuals (and later I will), but in summary we allowed Real to play at their strengths and they punished us like any big team would. At the end of 90 minutes, the result was fair, but the opportunity cost of our second half performance was way too high for me to be satisfied. Regretfully, David once again failed to beat Goliath. There is plenty to take from our performance, but man, I just wish we crossed that bar. You know, the way we crossed a similar bar last year against Chelsea. I'm keeping my head up high though, proud of the team I support each and every day. We'll just have to finally learn some things, fill the holes that are still gaping on our squad, and get 'em next time! http://markting10.nl/ MATCH RECAP Conte turned to his now tried and tested 4-3-3 with Bonucci coming in for Chiellini in defense, Caceres on the right, and makeshift left back Asamoah on the left. Marchisio played on the right in an attacking midfield role, Tevez spread play on the left, and Llorente was right in the middle of Madrid's defense. The first half, as already discussed, was fantastic for Juventus. We dominated possession, were first to every ball, and overpowered the powerhouse that is Real Madrid. Even their counter attacks were mostly taken away from them, with clever and quick pressing and defending. Vidal capped off our performance with a beautiful penalty right before halftime for the 1-0 lead. The second half brought a lot more goals, and a lot more heartache for Juventus fans around the world. Not only did we significantly decrease our intensity, but we pretty mach sat back and let Real Madrid come at us. Then, Caceres' terrible pass under pressure allowed Benzema to set up Cristiano Ronaldo for the equalizing goal. It wasn't long until another counter attack, this time ending up on the right side at Bale's feet, allowed Real Madrid to go up 1-2. Just like that, all our efforts in the first half went down the drain. http://markting10.nl/ Was Caceres' pass terrible? It was teeeeerrrible. But overall, his error wasn't our demise. In the post-match comments, Conte blamed our fatigue for the lack of intensity to start the second half. Errrr. Wrong again. Not that either. Imagine, just for a second, how the game might have transpired if Juventus started the second half as determined and as hungry as we did in the first 45 minutes. You say that's impossible due to the nature football goes after one team scores a goal? Fine, let's imagine we had 75% of our desire in the first half. Real Madrid wouldn't be able to press so high, Caceres' mistake if it repeated wouldn't necessarily cost us a goal, and we may have even scored a second before Real Madrid had a chance to equalize. http://markting10.nl/ Why do I think it wasn't fatigue? Because this team is in better shape than just 45 quality minutes. I would've loved to see Conte push and challenge our team to continue playing like we did in the first half, so that we actually SAW the fatigue on their faces and in their legs late in the second half. Instead, we found ourselves having to push for a point, when we needed and could've won all three. Damn, I'm going into mad rant mode again here. Let's just move on to the ratings. http://markting10.nl/ LE PAGELLE Buffon: 7 - Cleaned up what he could clean up, and couldn't do much on either goal really. He was as vocal as ever, organizing that 4-man defense as best as he could from behind. Ultimately outshined by Cassilas on the other end. Caceres: 6.5 - If we're brutally honest here, his mistake is inexcusable and he single-handedly gave Madrid a goal in a sense. I still will defend him, however, and laud him for the excellent first half and the beautiful cross to Llorente for Juve's second goal. What can I say, I like him on that right side, because of his potential in attack. He provided a lot of width by pushing up often. I hope he doesn't get too down on himself for that errant back pass. Barzagli: 7 - Did his job defensively against a team whose style is Andrea's Achilles heel. Can't ask much more than that. Bonucci: 7.5 - Not sure how it happened, but Bonucci ended up being one of our best performers of the match in my opinion. I was actually ready to tweet that he's our weakest link after 15-or so minutes, but the man cleaned up so many counter attacks and intercepted key passes. Fought out Benzema as well. Great game for Bonucci. Asamoah: 6.5 - I went back and forth on Asamoah here. For what he is - not a left back - he had a pretty decent game. That said, he didn't really contribute anything notable offensively, though you can say he played a bit more conservatively to prevent Ronaldo/Bale counter runs. Pirlo: 7 - As was the story with most of our players, he had an excellent first half and a poor second. In the first 45 minutes, he mostly directed our attacks to the sides and tried to seek out Llorente centrally when possible. In the second, I do remember a couple decent long balls forward but there should've been more. Vidal: 8 - If Pogba hadn't given such a half-hearted effort on Bale's goal, he would've probably been my man of match despite not scoring. However, Arturo Vidal is clearly a complete two-way player, who gave an incredible performance in defense and scored a beautiful penalty in a high-stakes match. Screw his second half practice of invisibility, I am giving him an 8. The joy he brought me throughout this game was immense. Pogba: 7.5 - This is what I wrote of his performance in Madrid: "His first half performance had me mesmerized. It's no secret I'm a fan of the boy, but how he handles himself in big matches at his age is truly amazing...In the second half, he failed to really make an impact, though he did very well supporting Tevez on the left side of the field when possible. My biased man of match." Deja vu, anyone? Marchisio: 6.5 - We've talked about this - we are all worried about our Principino. To be frank, his position today did not suit him, and he did...okay in it. Had a couple scoring opportunities on which he probably could've done better. I was generally okay with his performance as it could've been much worse. His real wake-up game is yet to come, and it's not gonna happen in a 4-3-3 formation on the right. Tevez: 7 - He wasn't lethal, but he was very useful. Played his role almost to perfection at times, spreading the defense wide left then cutting in and linking up with our midfielders/Llorente. However, he hasn't had his shooting boots on for a second game in a row. Defensively, helped out incredibly as always. Llorente: 7.5 - A very similar game to the first round in Madrid - nothing flashy but he got on the scoresheet when it most mattered. Did well linking up with Pogba, Tevez, and the rest of the midfield. He's not David Trezeguet, and it will be a while if ever that we sing "Quando gioca segna sempre Llorente," but I would love to build up his confidence and integrate him well in our team. He is very, very talented in that box. http://markting10.nl/ Subs: Quagliarella: sv Giovinco: sv Conte: 6.5 - He will have to teach this Juventus squad to be a two-half team instead of just play for 45 minutes in game that matter. That's on him. The first half display was a thing of beauty, and he should completely get credit for it. Similarly, I put sole blame on him for the way we handled ourselves in the second half.

JUVENTUS 2 - 2 REAL MADRID Arturo Vidal (41′-PG) Cristiano Ronaldo (52′) Gareth Bale (60′) Fernando Llorente (65′) November 5, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Howard Webb (England) Attendance: 40696 There’s life in the Old Lady A see-sawing 2-2 draw with Real Madrid leaves Juventus’ Champions League future in an uncertain state, but still within their grasp. Luca Cetta writes. Nov 6, 2013 Tuttosport asked for ‘another night like this’ referring to Juventus’ stirring 3-1 victory over Real Madrid 10 years ago in the Champions League semi-final. Meanwhile, the two sides would be doing battle five years to the day Alessandro Del Piero hit a memorable brace in the Spanish capital. Matches between Juventus and Real stir up unforgettable moments for fans of both clubs, yet for Bianconeri boss Antonio Conte their second season meeting was not about history, but a fundamental contest to aid Juve’s chance of progression. http://markting10.nl/ A boisterous Juventus Stadium was treated to a pulsating affair. Both sides traded blows at certain stages. Juve were up, Real down. Real up, the Bianconeri down. What the clash between two of football’s heavyweights didn’t do was make Juve’s situation any easier. The draw means there’s still a way to go to book a spot in the last 16. When quizzed about their system in the pre-match Press Conference, Conte retorted the key was how Juventus played, not in what shape. “What is more important than the system is the way we interpret the game, because we are playing a candidate to win the Champions League.” It needed to be a performance of intensity, of spirit and of enthusiasm. For the opening 45 minutes those qualities were all on show. Iker Casillas – supreme throughout, despite his lack of regular playing time – was the busier of the two goalkeepers. He was throwing arms and legs at anything in his path to thwart La Vecchia Signora. http://markting10.nl/ Nearing the end of a first half in which the Turin giants’ midfield dominated and its defence and forward line worked hard to nullify Real’s threats, they were finally rewarded. Paul Pogba was sliced down and Arturo Vidal confidently dispatched the resulting penalty. Carlo Ancelotti’s side turned the tide after the interval, assisted also by Martin Caceres – who played well otherwise. An errant pass gave the men in orange a chance to equalise, one Cristiano Ronaldo did not pass up. It was the start of a dominant spell for the visitors. In it, Xabi Alonso smacked the woodwork and Gareth Bale put them ahead. What happened to the Juventus of the opening 45 minutes? Gianluigi Buffon spoke afterwards of being wary every time Real strode forward, so perhaps they aimed to hold. Ancelotti noted half-time tweaks. Yet for Conte, tiredness was the main factor. “In the second half we suffered a little at keeping that tempo with such a packed fixture list. When the intensity drops against Real Madrid, you inevitably risk paying the price, especially when Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are running at you on the counter.” http://markting10.nl/ Juve needed to bounce back and get something from the game. They did just that. Caceres redeemed himself by crossing for Fernando Llorente’s powerful header. It was the Spaniard’s second goal in consecutive European ties and further highlighted what he brings to the team. Real controlled possession in the final stages, as both looked content with a point. Conte was generally satisfied. “I’d rate our performance very highly. The team did very well and the first half was perfect in every respect, organisation, quality and intensity.” Buffon rated the performance seven out of 10. For La giornalaccio rosa dello Sport, it was a great Juve which took a ‘golden point.’ http://markting10.nl/ As the group stage reaches its climax, Juve are now drawn into a must-win situation. Currently bottom with just three points from four games, they were aided by Copenhagen’s win over Galatasaray. That keeps them alive and essentially still in control of their destiny. Victory over the Danes in three weeks would give Juventus an opening. Should Real Madrid defeat Gala, it would even leave Conte’s men in second place. A 2-2 draw may not have been the wholly desired result last night, but it remains in Juve’s hands to finish second in Group B. They must now grasp the chance.

JUVENTUS 2 - 2 REAL MADRID Arturo Vidal (41′-PG) Cristiano Ronaldo (52′) Gareth Bale (60′) Fernando Llorente (65′) November 5, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Howard Webb (England) Attendance: 40696 Buffon hails 'decisive' Casillas The Bianconeri goalkeeper was quick to salute his Blancos counterpart for pulling off three stunning stops during their sides' Champions League showdown. Nov 6, 2013 Juventus captain Gianluigi Buffon has heaped praise on Iker Casillas for the Real Madrid goalkeeper's sensational display in Turin on Tuesday night. http://markting10.nl/ The two European giants drew 2-2, with Casillas made a number of excellent saves throughout the match to earn his side a point. The two men have been hailed as the world's top goalkeepers for a decade now, and Buffon was left in no doubt as to the brilliance of his Madrid counterpart. "Casillas was decisive," the World Cup winner told Futbol. "He had a great game and made three critical interventions." http://markting10.nl/ Despite the draw, Juve dropped to the bottom of Group B, but they are just one point behind Galatasaray and Copenhagen, with games to come against both. Consequently, Buffon remains optimistic that the Bianconeri will make the last 16. "We are in a difficult group but we still have a good chance of getting through," the 35-year-old shot-stopper stated. http://markting10.nl/ "Copenhagen and Galatasaray are both doing well and however far Real Madrid get in the competition, they have great quality. "We are in a tough group, but we must keep on fighting."

JUVENTUS 2 - 2 REAL MADRID Arturo Vidal (41′-PG) Cristiano Ronaldo (52′) Gareth Bale (60′) Fernando Llorente (65′) November 5, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Howard Webb (England) Attendance: 40696 Pogba: Everyone should fear Juventus The France midfielder feels the Serie A champions remain one of Europe's prominent clubs and is still confident of progressing from Champions League Group B. Nov 6, 2013 Paul Pogba insists Juventus are still a force to be reckoned with in Europe despite the fight they face to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League. http://markting10.nl/ The Turin club sit bottom of Group B on three points after Tuesday's 2-2 draw against Real Madrid and Copenhagen's win over Galatasaray, yet Pogba feels they should still be feared despite their troublesome start to their European campaign. "Juventus will always be Juventus, a great team, and everyone should be afraid of facing us," he told Sky Sport Italia. "We have to prove that we're strong and that we can win. We have to think about ourselves, focus on winning and only afterwards see what the other teams have done." http://markting10.nl/ The Frenchman then went on to reflect on Tuesday's draw against Madrid and was pleased with the performance of his side. "We put in a good performance, especially in the first half, and we did want to start strong. http://markting10.nl/ "We were facing a great team and saw that the moment we make one mistake, they hit us with pace." The Serie A champions host Copenhagen in three weeks' time, before travelling to Istanbul to face Galatasaray in their final group game on December 10.

JUVENTUS 2 - 2 REAL MADRID Arturo Vidal (41′-PG) Cristiano Ronaldo (52′) Gareth Bale (60′) Fernando Llorente (65′) November 5, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Howard Webb (England) Attendance: 40696 Llorente: Juventus will qualify for knockout stages The Spanish attacker believes the Old Lady still have every chance of making it to the round of 16 following Tuesday's results. Nov 6, 2013 Fernando Llorente remains confident that Juventus can qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League after Tuesday's 2-2 draw at home against Real Madrid. http://markting10.nl/ The Serie A champions currently sit fourth in Group B with just three points from four games, but Llorente - who scored the equaliser after Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale had cancelled out Arturo Vidal's opener for the Bianconeri - thinks they can still progress if they win their remaining two matches. "The group is still very open and if we win the next two games, I think we will qualify," the 28-year-old told the official Uefa website. "We managed to earn a very important point especially considering that Galatasaray lost in Copenhagen. http://markting10.nl/ "I think we have played a very good game against Madrid. We saw a strong Juve, a Juve side fully aware of what was at stake. "It wasn't easy but the team worked hard and did well." Juventus resume domestic action on Sunday when they host Napoli.

JUVENTUS 2 - 2 REAL MADRID Arturo Vidal (41′-PG) Cristiano Ronaldo (52′) Gareth Bale (60′) Fernando Llorente (65′) November 5, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Howard Webb (England) Attendance: 40696 Ancelotti: Casillas was crucial for Madrid The Italian praised the club skipper and defended Raphael Varane - who he says will one day be the best defender in the world. Nov 6, 2013 Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti admitted Iker Casillas played a crucial role their 2-2 draw at Juventus on Tuesday. http://markting10.nl/ The goalkeeper has been the Italian's No.1 between the sticks in the Champions League, though Diego Lopez is being favoured in the first team for games in La Liga. However, Casillas did himself a world of good with a top performance in Turin and the former Chelsea boss heralded the shot-stopper for his efforts in keeping the Bianconeri from scoring more than twice. "He played a very good game," he told Canal Plus. "He was decisive and made two great saves in the first half. http://markting10.nl/ "For him it is easy to not play every game, but he is ready to do it and that means he's very professional." Raphael Varane was at fault for both Juve goals in the European encounter but the Italian trainer refused to criticise the Frenchman, who he clearly sees as having a brilliant future ahead of him. "Varane is only 20 and will be the best in the world," he added. "I could not ask him to make zero mistakes." http://markting10.nl/ Madrid looked off the pace in the first half but reacted to Arturo Vidal's 41-minute opener with second-half strikes from Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, though Fernando Llorente equalised to earn the hosts a point. Ancelotti continued: "We reacted so well in the second half. I'm very happy about this: the courage and the attitude. "In the first half we defended too deep, allowing space to Paul Pogba and Claudio Marchisio. After that, we changed and pressed more in the midfield. http://markting10.nl/ "Ramos was in the starting XI to cover gaps. Because in Madrid Juventus crossed too many balls in and Ramos is so good with the head. He played well, he is a great player but him at right-back is only temporary." One more point in the final two group stage games - at home to second-placed Galatasaray and away to Copenhagen - for los Blancos will see them ease into the last 16.

Should Galatasaray fail to win at Real, then a win against Copenhagen and a draw in Istanbul would be enough for the Italians.

Then the Coach told us we had to attack, we had to use the flanks and that is what we did and it worked.”

I only play once every two weeks.” http://markting10.nl/ Real Madrid aren’t qualified yet, as Juve ended their 100 per cent record in Group B. “We are doing very well, 10 points out of 12 is good,” smiled the goalkeper.

We were facing a great team and saw that the moment we make one mistake, they hit us with pace.” http://markting10.nl/ Copenhagen beat Galatasaray 1-0, which leaves those teams on four points and Juve last on three. However, it’s still a positive situation, because the Bianconeri could qualify by beating Copenhagen in Turin and earning a draw in Istanbul. http://markting10.nl/ “We have to think about ourselves, focus on winning and only afterwards see what the other teams have done. “Juve are Juve, so as a great team everyone should be afraid of facing us. We have to prove that we’re strong and that we can win.”

We played the first half very well and played good football, taking a deserved lead,” Llorente told Sky Sport Italia. “It was tougher after the break, as Real Madrid kept possession better and we were chasing the ball, especially with players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale. http://markting10.nl/ “We are working on service and my teammates are getting to know me, so the more we play together the better it will be. I’m sure the crosses will come in better as time goes on. “I think I can still give a lot more, gain more confidence and settle in, as I haven’t been here for long. I can help this team and hope every game can be an improvement for me. “I do need to be more determined in front of goal, that’s something I’m working on and always think about in the box.”

JUVENTUS 2 - 2 REAL MADRID Arturo Vidal (41′-PG) Cristiano Ronaldo (52′) Gareth Bale (60′) Fernando Llorente (65′) November 5, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Howard Webb (England) Attendance: 40696 Ancelotti: 'Juve caused us problems' Carlo Ancelotti reveals Juventus forced Real Madrid to make adjustments and is confident they’ll qualify. Nov 5, 2013 “We defended too deep in the first half, as Paul Pogba and Claudio Marchisio’s positions were causing us a few problems,” he told Sky Sport Italia after a 2-2 draw in Turin. http://markting10.nl/ “We didn’t pressure them in midfield, but changed that at half-time and it went much better. “We are improving, even if there are still amnesias in defence and at times we lose our balance, but the second half was good.” Ancelotti is confident Juve will get through to the knockouts after Galatasaray lost in Copenhagen. This leaves Galatasaray and Copenhagen on four points with the Bianconeri on three. http://markting10.nl/ Juve would therefore qualify if they beat Copenhagen in Turin and earned a point in Istanbul, as long as Real Madrid defeated Galatasaray. “Juventus will certainly qualify, even if it’s not easy to get a point in Turkey, but they have more quality than Galatasaray. “There is only one path at the Bernabeu and that’s for a Real Madrid victory!”

JUVENTUS 2 - 2 REAL MADRID Arturo Vidal (41′-PG) Cristiano Ronaldo (52′) Gareth Bale (60′) Fernando Llorente (65′) November 5, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Howard Webb (England) Attendance: 40696 Conte: 'Juve fortified by Real draw' Antonio Conte is confident Juventus “emerge fortified” from their 2-2 draw with Real Madrid. Nov 5, 2013 “I’d rate our performance very highly. The team did very well and the first half was perfect in every respect, organisation, quality and intensity,” he told Sky Sport Italia. http://markting10.nl/ “In the second half we suffered a little at keeping that tempo with such a packed fixture list. When the intensity drops against Real Madrid, you inevitably risk paying the price, especially when Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are running at you on the counter. “Iker Casillas was Man of the Match in my view and saved Real Madrid on several occasions.” Copenhagen beat Galatasaray 1-0 this evening, so in theory Juventus could qualify if they beat the Danes and earn a draw in Istanbul. http://markting10.nl/ “We have absolutely made a step forward and are obliged to beat Copenhagen. In my view, we have picked up far fewer points than we deserved to in this group. Tonight the draw could’ve been a win, but Real Madrid are an Armada with players who can change the game at any moment. “What satisfies me the most is the hunger these players put on to the field and the way they faced Real Madrid openly. We weren’t nervous or too respectful and that is how it should be for us to grow in the Champions League. “We proved on the pitch that the difference in economic strength between the clubs was really not that visible. http://markting10.nl/ “We reached the Champions League quarter-finals last season and are still alive now, which is what counts. We need to continue playing with this intensity against anyone, including Real Madrid. “After last year’s valuable experience, I am convinced that if we get through the group phase then we can have our say in the Champions League. We have a gap with European powerhouses like Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, particularly one of experience. “We emerge fortified from this match. We have to realise that regardless of the financial situation, we do our talking on the pitch.”

JUVENTUS 2 - 2 REAL MADRID Arturo Vidal (41′-PG) Cristiano Ronaldo (52′) Gareth Bale (60′) Fernando Llorente (65′) November 5, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Howard Webb (England) Attendance: 40696 Asamoah: 'Tough with Ronaldo and Bale' Kwadwo Asamoah admits “it was tough” to become a defender against Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale. Nov 5, 2013 “We did well tonight against a great team. It wasn’t easy, but we did the right things,” he told Sky Sport Italia after a 2-2 draw between Juventus and Real Madrid. http://markting10.nl/ Angelo Ogbonna had been expected to start, but Antonio Conte chose Asamoah instead for that role. “It was tough against players like Ronaldo and Bale, with such pace and technique, but I did what I had to. http://markting10.nl/ “I saw that when Carlos Tevez cut in, there was space for me to push forward, so we could create some chances.”

JUVENTUS 2 - 2 REAL MADRID Arturo Vidal (41′-PG) Cristiano Ronaldo (52′) Gareth Bale (60′) Fernando Llorente (65′) November 5, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Howard Webb (England) Attendance: 40696 Buffon: 'Casillas was decisive' Gigi Buffon praised Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas, but noted Juventus have other regrets. Nov 5, 2013 The Bianconeri are still without a win in the Champions League this season, but held Real to a 2-2 draw in Turin this evening. http://markting10.nl/ “This is following on from the results we achieved last season, but unfortunately these aren’t the points we dropped,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “You can win, draw or lose against Real Madrid, but the quality of their individuals in attack is impressive. They always make you apprehensive every time they go past midfield, as you know they can create something out of nothing.” Buffon exchanged jerseys with Casillas at the final whistle and the Spaniard was perhaps Man of the Match. http://markting10.nl/ “Casillas performed three truly important saves that in the end proved decisive for them to bring home a point. “How would I rate tonight’s performance? Seven out of 10.” http://markting10.nl/ Copenhagen beat Galatasaray 1-0 in Denmark, so those two sides are level on four points with Juventus last on three. This result opens up qualification from Group B, as it’s all very tight behind Real. “I don’t know, as if they won then it means they’re no pushovers and we have to do our duty at home. Galatasaray are going to Madrid and they’re not beaten on paper either.”

JUVENTUS 2 - 2 REAL MADRID Arturo Vidal (41′-PG) Cristiano Ronaldo (52′) Gareth Bale (60′) Fernando Llorente (65′) November 5, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Howard Webb (England) Attendance: 40696 Conte: Juventus are stronger after Real Madrid draw The Italian champions are bottom of Group B following their 2-2 tie with los Blancos on Tuesday but the former midfielder maintains their qualification is in their hands. Nov 5, 2013 Antonio Conte believes Juventus have been made stronger by their 2-2 draw with Real Madrid on Tuesday and is confident they can still qualify for the last 16. Arturo Vidal put Juve ahead from the spot shortly before half-time, but Real hit back seven minutes after the break through Cristiano Ronaldo. http://markting10.nl/ Gareth Bale then put the Spanish side ahead on the hour mark before Fernando Llorente salvaged a point for the Serie A champions. The result leaves Juve propping up their group with just three points and no wins, but Conte insists that the competition is not over for his side. "We can play at their (Real's) level, which we had already proved in Madrid two weeks ago," said the Juve coach. "We will still have something to say in this competition. http://markting10.nl/ "We feel stronger after this game, and we know what we do on the pitch decides who is going to win or lose, it's up to us." Goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon feels the Italians should be proud of their point but admits qualification from Group B is now an uphill task. "It's no disgrace to drop points against a big team like Real Madrid," he said. "They have great individual quality, wonderful strikers and every time they get near the goal you can feel the pressure rising. http://markting10.nl/ "It won't be easy for us now. but we'll do what we can to qualify." The veteran goalkeeper reserved special praise for his opposite number, Iker Casillas, who made a string of crucial saves as he was restored to the first team. "Iker Casillas did really well," he continued. "His saves helped his team to get a draw."

JUVENTUS 2 - 2 REAL MADRID Arturo Vidal (41′-PG) Cristiano Ronaldo (52′) Gareth Bale (60′) Fernando Llorente (65′) November 5, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Howard Webb (England) Attendance: 40696 Juventus grateful to Mancini as Galatasaray blow their big chance The Bianconeri went a fourth game without victory after squandering the lead against Real Madrid, but they still remain well poised after the Turks' failure in Denmark. Nov 5, 2013 COMMENT By Kris Voakes Juventus have still not won a game in the Champions League since seeing off Celtic in the last 16 of last season’s competition back in March. And yet eight months and six games on from that 2-0 second leg victory, they are clear favourites to qualify from Group B in second place and again reach the knockout stage. It doesn’t always turn out this well. http://markting10.nl/ Tuesday’s 2-2 draw against Real Madrid looked decent enough in and of itself, but it was a scoreline which would have left them staring at the prospect of having to win both of their remaining group fixtures in order to progress were it not for Copenhagen’s shock 1-0 victory over Galatasaray at the Parken Stadion. Thanks to the Danes’ win, the Bianconeri know that a victory at home to Stale Solbakken’s side in three weeks’ time will more than likely leave them needing just a draw in Turkey in their closing game in order to qualify for the last 16. In a competition in which 10 points is often considered the minimum target, Juve could still get away with only notching seven. That they are still even mathematically in with any chance is a stroke of pure fortune. Yes, they have played well for large periods of their two clashes with Madrid, but it is only thanks to the convincing fashion in which the Spanish giants have polished off Copenhagen and Galatasary before now that Juve are in such a positive position. http://markting10.nl/ Their third point of the group campaign came thanks to a Fernando Llorente equaliser after they had somehow managed to throw away a 1-0 lead garnered through hard work and great vigilance. Arturo Vidal’s penalty – awarded for Raphael Varane’s rash challenge on Paul Pogba – was a worthy advantage, yet all it took was two individual errors for the Italians to find themselves behind. First Martin Caceres tried a criminal pass across the face of his defence which allowed Karim Benzema to slip in Cristiano Ronaldo, then Kwadwo Asamoah’s inexperience as a left-back was exposed by a great piece of footwork from Gareth Bale, with the Welshman slotting home confidently to put Madrid ahead. Varane was again caught out when he turned his back on a Caceres cross, with Llorente making him pay, but by that point it was Galatasaray’s failures which were promising to be the most important of the night. http://markting10.nl/ After conceding a wonderful early goal to Daniel Braaten, Roberto Mancini’s men simply never got going. Half-chances were made and wasted, but they rarely looked likely to come up with an equaliser, let alone a winner. In their 2-2 draw at Juventus Stadium and then the comfortable home win against FCK, Gala looked more than capable of making Juve’s life hard in the race for qualification. But after their horror show in Copenhagen they will need to beat Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabeu if they are not to hand the advantage to the Bianconeri ahead of the crucial matchday six clash at the Turk Telecom Arena. Juve should be counting themselves very, very lucky. Plenty of teams have failed to reach the last 16 of the Champions League despite collecting 10 group points. The Italian champions cannot now achieve double figures and yet are set fair for qualification. That’s just the way it happens sometimes. http://markting10.nl/ Question marks remain over whether this Juventus side are good enough to truly challenge in Europe. Tuesday’s game gave us nothing in the way of answers, and there’s a fair chance that Antonio Conte’s side will head to the last 16 without even coming close to delivering a riposte of any sort. After starting badly last year they had to really get their hands dirty and were rewarded with the top spot in the group. This time around, the path looks likely to be a hell of a lot easier.

JUVENTUS 2 - 2 REAL MADRID Arturo Vidal (41′-PG) Cristiano Ronaldo (52′) Gareth Bale (60′) Fernando Llorente (65′) November 5, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Howard Webb (England) Attendance: 40696 Player Ratings Goal took in the action in Turin as los Blancos moved to the brink of the last 16 to leave the Italian champions facing a battle to join them in the next round. Nov 5, 2013 JUVENTUS Gianluigi Buffon - Made a good save on Bale in the first half, and took care of what else came his way. Hard to find fault in him for either Madrid goal. Martín Cáceres - Was having a fine game until the 52nd minute, where a catastrophic attempt at a back pass instead released Madrid for the equaliser. Andrea Barzagli - Stretched once or twice on the break, but was generally solid throughout not making any obvious mistakes. Leonardo Bonucci - Defended superbly against the Madrid front three, making a series of fine plays at the back to win possession back for his team. Kwadwo Asamoah - Failed to do much to stop Bale in the buildup for the Madrid go-ahead goal, as he was sidestepped with ease by the Welshman. Paul Pogba - Ran the show throughout Juve's dominant first half, getting past his man at will, holding off challenges and generally trampling all over his Madrid counterparts in the middle of the park. Andrea Pirlo - Completely in control during he first half as he helped Juve concentrate play in the Madrid zone, but he began ti tire noticeably after the break, and chased the game for the mist part. Arturo Vidal - Put in an inconceivable amount of tackles to break up play by the opposition, and came up trumps at the other end of the pitch with a splendid penalty to put his side into the lead towards the end of the first half. Claudio Marchisio - Looked completely out of place when drifting out wide, as he never created much, and fluffed his lines twice when getting on the end of some glorious chances. Carlos Tévez - Drifted excellently between the midfield and attacking lines, setting his teammates in motion with a series of excellent passes and deliveries. Very difficult to pick up for the opposition. Fernando Llorente - Made himself a nuisance in the box, nearly slotting in a Tevez ball in the first half, before powerfully heading in the Juve leveler in the second half ahead of his marker Varane. http://markting10.nl/ Substitutions Sebastian Giovinco - Barely had any time to make an impact, coming on in the 88th minute. Fabio Quagliarella - With his first touch, he made Casillas work to save his low drive towards the corner. http://markting10.nl/ REAL MADRID CF Iker Casillas - Another emphatic return to the starting XI for the Madrid captain, as he thwarted Juve time and time again with a collection of fantastic saves. Could not help either goal, and were he not on his game, Juve could have been out of sight at the half. Raphaël Varane - Looked nervy before his fatal slip up, a late trip on Pogba that was spotted well by the referee, leading to a penalty which Vidal converted. Manhandled embarrassingly by Llorente for Juve's second goal in what turned out to be a nightmare. Pepe - Nearly turned the ball past his own keeper when defending a dangerous Pogba cross, and endured an uneasy time against the Juve frontline for the majority of the game - though he made amends with a goal line block on Marchisio. Sergio Ramos - Handled the threat of Marchisio easily, and stepped into his own box when needed to help out the central defence. Efficient and occasionally dynamic in attack, Marcelo - Defended well against Marchisio out wide, and was efficient on the ball, setting Madrid's equaliser in motion with a perfectly weighted pass to Ronaldo. Sami Khedira - Torn this way and that in the first half by Juve, but his side's second half dominance saw him return to effectiveness, as he mopped up loose ends well. Luka Modric - A big part of Madrid's second half revival, as his vision on the ball and hard work off it helped the visitors dominate the midfield, an area that they conceded in the first half. Xabi Alonso - Stymied in the first half but looked like his usual self after the restart, facilitating his team well from deep. Ran out of gas eventually though, with Illarramendi coming on in his place. Cristiano Ronaldo - Hit and miss in the first half, but came alive after the break. Clinically slotted Madrid level shortly after the restart, before teeing up Bale, who made it 2-1. Karim Benzema - Relatively quiet, though he registered a nice assist for Ronaldo's equaliser with a deft through ball to find the Portuguese unmarked. Missed a pair of efforts himself. Gareth Bale - Tested Buffon in the first half with a low effort, but was more effective after the break, burying an exquisite goal after running at the Juve defence and picking his spot. http://markting10.nl/ Substitutions Ángel Di María - Helped inject some more pace down the flanks for Madrid in the closing stages, coming close to picking out Ronaldo with a deep cross. Asier Illarramendi - Did not miss a beat when filling in for Alonso in the latter stages of the game. Jesé Rodríguez - Did not have much time on the ball to affect play.
