REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS October 23, 2013 8:45 PM Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Manuel Gräfe (Germany) Conte: 'Juve don't fear Real' Oct 22, 2013 Antonio Conte assures Juventus have “no fear” when taking on Real Madrid at the Bernabeu tomorrow night. http://markting10.nl/ The two giants clash in Madrid on Wednesday at 20.45 for the Champions League. “This game gives us huge motivation. Something imponderable happened in Florence, but in football this can happen. The numbers say we create a great deal,” said the Coach in his Press conference. He was referring to Sunday’s shock 4-2 defeat at Fiorentina, after his side had been 2-0 up until past the hour mark. http://markting10.nl/ The Bianconeri’s form in Europe has not been better with two draws against Copenhagen and Galatasaray, both after going behind. “We will play our game at the Bernabeu against one of the most successful clubs in the world. Tomorrow we’ll have to know how to suffer under pressure, but we must also be able to hurt them. “We respect Real Madrid, but have no fear. We are stepping on to the field well aware of our capabilities. This is going to be very tough, but it is an opportunity for us to give our all and prove ourselves too. http://markting10.nl/ “Tomorrow’s result will mean nothing in terms of qualification, whether we win or lose, as there are still another three games to go. We have to prove we’re up to the standard of this great football stage, not with words, but on the pitch. “I tip my hat to Carlo Ancelotti for his extraordinary career. It was great to have him as my Coach at Juventus.” Carlos Tevez will start, while Mirko Vucinic, Fabio Quagliarella and Stephan Lichtsteiner are sidelined. http://markting10.nl/ “Tevez has had a very positive impact at Juve. He sets the example in terms of quality and hard work he puts into everything. “Fernando Llorente is in good shape, he is at my disposal with the rest of the squad and I will make my decisions tomorrow.” http://markting10.nl/ Gigi Buffon has been criticised recently for his form, though some have said old age has made him ‘merely human’ after years of heroics. “Buffon is a champion as a football player and as a man. He is a guarantee for me and always will be,” added Conte.

REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS October 23, 2013 8:45 PM Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Manuel Gräfe (Germany) Varane back for Juve Oct 22, 2013 Raphael Varane has made Real Madrid’s squad for Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Juventus after concerns over his knee. http://markting10.nl/ The youngster returned from international duty with France last week struggling with discomfort and inflammation in the same knee he had only just returned to playing on after surgery in May. As a precaution, the centre-back missed training through last week and sat out the weekend win over Malaga. However, on from having since returned to training, Varane has made the 22-man squad named by Carlo Ancelotti today to face the visit of Juve this midweek. http://markting10.nl/ Real Madrid squad to face Juventus: Casillas, Diego López, Jesús, Varane, Pepe, Ramos, Coentrão, Marcelo, Carvajal, Arbeloa, Nacho, Khedira, Bale, Casemiro, Modric, Di María, Isco, Illarra, Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema, Jesé, Morata

REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS October 23, 2013 8:45 PM Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Manuel Gräfe (Germany) Ancelotti wary of Juve & Vidal threat Oct 22, 2013 Carlo Ancelotti has highlighted the threat Arturo Vidal will pose when Real Madrid face Juventus on Wednesday. http://markting10.nl/ The Bianconeri travel to Santiago Bernabeu looking for their first Champions League win of the season tomorrow. And the Italian tactician has admitted he is wary of the Turin side’s quality. “We have to analyse all aspects of Juve's last game, every minute and not just the 15 minutes when they struggled,” he told a Press conference. http://markting10.nl/ “Juventus in general have many players with a lot of quality. Arturo Vidal is very important, he can score and move about the pitch well. “He has shown his quality. Individuals aside, their overall strength lies in their organisation. “Our game against Málaga last weekend was a good one. We need to repeat that intensity tomorrow. We have more confidence. http://markting10.nl/ “Let's see what happens. I think we are better now [than at the start of the season]. We are playing with intensity. “We are focused. I know this is an important week and we are preparing well. Ancelotti then commented on his squad’s fitness ahead of the clash, as well as his aims for the season in the Spanish capital. http://markting10.nl/ “We have all of our players available except for Xabi Alonso - but I am not going to give you my team for tomorrow. Sergio Ramos is available - he can play. “Ángel Di María is playing well, he is full of confidence. He has a lot of character. I hope he continues that way as he is very important for us, he can play in many positions. “The aim here is for the young players to be the future of the club. Real Madrid had a clear objective in that - it is the priority of the club and the coach. http://markting10.nl/ “It is not easy to play here. They are gaining very important experience. Álvaro Morata is doing very well, I am happy with him and the rest of the young players. It is a fantastic experience for them. “Ronaldo starts on the wing but he will push on and try to score from a forward position - it's very hard to score from the wing. “We are not so crazy as to change the position of a player who scores 40 or 50 goals from a particular area of the pitch.” http://markting10.nl/ The ex-Juve Coach concluded by remarking on how he’s changed since he was in charge of the Old Lady. “What has changed since I coached Juve? My hair! No, many things. I have more experience now. My experience at Juventus was very important in terms of my growth as a coach and a person. “The results maybe were not great but my experiences and memories from that time are good ones.”

REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS October 23, 2013 8:45 PM Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Manuel Gräfe (Germany) Untested Madrid trio for Juve? Oct 22, 2013 Real Madrid Coach Carlo Ancelotti has this week trained with a provisional midfield trio of Sami Khedira, Luka Modric and Asier Illarramendi. http://markting10.nl/ Juventus visit the Santiago Bernabeu for matchday three of the Champions League group stage on Wednesday evening before Madrid then head out to face Barcelona in the first Clasico of the season. Ahead of those tests, indications from training have suggested that Ancelotti is going to try a new midfield central three of Khedira, Modric and Illarramendi. The Italian recently switched to a 4-3-3 formation and had been using summer signing Isco as one of the central three. http://markting10.nl/ However, training this week has seen the former Malaga favourite seemingly dropped out favour. Ancelotti has for the first time this season been working with a full squad at Madrid, in light of Xabi Alonso’s return to full training yesterday.

REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS October 23, 2013 8:45 PM Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Manuel Gräfe (Germany) C. Ronaldo: Juventus a great team Oct 22, 2013 Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo is showing Juventus respect despite their capitulation at Fiorentina on Sunday. http://markting10.nl/ The Italian giants were in control of the game in Tuscany thanks to a 2-0 advantage before conceding four second half goals. “We are expecting a great Juventus team, even though they lost their last match in Serie A,” the Portuguese wizard stated ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League tie. “The Juventus encounter is a huge one and we want to win this one. We must be focused.” http://markting10.nl/ Ronaldo is particularly aware of Carlos Tevez, his former teammate in the Premiership with Manchester United. “I played with Tevez and it was great linking up with him. We will have to be wary of him tomorrow, he is a very dangerous player. “The Champions League is the most important tournament, but whatever competition I compete in I want to win it. http://markting10.nl/ “We want nine points on the board by the end of tomorrow night.” Real will go into the tie as favourites despite their problematic start to the season under new boss Carlo Ancelotti. “We are getting better. We started a bit weak, but we are improving in many aspects. We have to continue like that,” he added. http://markting10.nl/ “It is a thing of great pride to work with this Coach – he is doing an extraordinary job. You can't say more than that. I am willing to give my all for him.” Real have a 100 per cent record in their group, while Juve have been held to draws against FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray. “We have six points on the board and nobody qualifies with six points. http://markting10.nl/ “We are calm, focused. We want to win tomorrow as that will also give us confidence for the game against Barcelona at the weekend. “I don't think it is a decisive week, but it's true that it is an important one for us. We didn't start as we would have liked but we are getting better.” http://markting10.nl/ Tomorrow’s meeting has inevitably seen former Juventus director general Luciano Moggi again remind fans of when he almost signed the player. “I’ve been close to everyone…but the only certainty for me was United,” continued the former Sporting Lisbon winger. “In all seriousness, I was close to Juventus at the age of 18 but I preferred Manchester United for their history and the possibility to mature.”

Llorente on training and tactics… Oct 22, 2013 Fernando Llorente has explained the reasons behind his initial lack of game time at Juventus following his summer move. http://markting10.nl/ The striker joined the club from Athletic Bilbao on a Bosman, but he has struggled to win a regular starting shirt in the plans of boss Antonio Conte. Speaking to AS on Tuesday, the international noted that he has had to get to grips with new training methods and the intricate tactical side of the Serie A game. “We work on strength very differently,” he noted. “I have never done that, used machines I did not know about. And there are other workouts that leave you exhausted. http://markting10.nl/ “The training is more demanding. It’s barbaric, the workouts are brutal, but it has an upside – you are left in better shape. “As for the tactics, they require an adaptation. This team has been playing together for three years. Everyone knows how to play and to produce that game you also have to train a lot. “It is a football that is highly mechanised. You cannot do whatever you want nor just have the ball. Each movement is studied. http://markting10.nl/ “The play ends as it has to end, and there are a lot of plays…” A reason given for his lack of use at the start of the season was the fact that he was mainly left on the bench in Bilbao last term after he decided to let his contract run down. “Even today I do not understand why. Athletic is a club based on their youth team and they cannot sell their best players. That’s the explanation I was given. http://markting10.nl/ “But I also think they wanted to show me, I believe, as an example to other players so that they would not opt to leave the club.” Llorente is back in his homeland today as the Old Lady prepare to play Real Madrid – an outfit who had shown an interest in him. “How many times have they tried to sign me? A few times, but in the end there was no agreement and nothing came out of it. http://markting10.nl/ “When? The last was when I had a year to go on my contract, after the good year in the Europa League. “Then, later on [with six months on his contract] Madrid did not come in for me and Juve did and gave me more confidence.” Juventus will go into the game tomorrow night on the back of a nightmare 4-2 loss at Fiorentina – a game they were leading 2-0. http://markting10.nl/ “We will arrive in Madrid good and strong despite what happened in Florence,” the 28-year-old added. “We have not started too well in the Champions League with two draws against Copenhagen and Galatasaray, so we are hungry to get points and need to get points in these two matches against Madrid.”

REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS October 23, 2013 8:45 PM Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Manuel Gräfe (Germany) Llorente: Real will let Juve play Oct 21, 2013 Juventus will need to take advantage of the space Real Madrid will give them in this week’s Champions League tie, says Fernando Llorente. http://markting10.nl/ The striker will return to his homeland as the Old Lady will look to pick up their first three points of their European Cup campaign this season. “We must believe in our chances, also because Real are an opponent that allows you to play – even if they are dangerous when they have possession,” said the Bosman signing from Athletic Bilbao. “Personally I am happy to be playing against a Spanish team, especially one as big as Real Madrid,” he continued. http://markting10.nl/ “But we have shown what we can do and we have started well, perhaps not as well as we had hoped in the Champions League and for this reason we now have to do well in these two games that lie ahead. “We have a good opportunity of obtaining points against Real, even if it won’t be easy.” http://markting10.nl/ The 28-year-old added: “It is always exciting to play in a stadium like the Bernabeu, where I have only won once, but that I have scored a couple of times in. “I’m sure Real Madrid will face us with the maximum respect given that they know we are a great side.” Llorente started in the 4-2 loss at Fiorentina on Sunday, but he was unable to improve on just one goal in his Bianconero career to date.

Vidal & Pobga to sign deals soon? Oct 21, 2013 Reports in the Italian Press suggest that Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal could be on the verge of signing new Juventus deals. http://markting10.nl/ Renowned journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola will meet with the Bianconeri hierarchy within seven days to sit down and discuss an extension. The news comes in the wake of comments made by President Andrea Agnelli, who admitted that the club would not be able to turn down a big offer for the France international. http://markting10.nl/ Vidal meanwhile is also close to renewal, and is set to earn €4m per season.

Prandelli on Buffon Oct 21, 2013 Cesare Prandelli has called Gianluigi Buffon ‘the best in the world’, despite some criticising the Juventus goalkeeper. http://markting10.nl/ The veteran Bianconeri man was called up by some sceptics on Sunday after he was at fault for one of Fiorentina’s goal in their 4-2 win. But the Coach has called the shot-stopper the best in the business. http://markting10.nl/ “Buffon is the best in the world,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “He will be our goalkeeper at the World Cup.

Tacconi stands up for Buffon Oct 21, 2013 Juventus and Italy are still in safe hands with Gigi Buffon, says former goalkeeper Stefano Tacconi. http://markting10.nl/ Buffon has had some shaky moments so far this season and questions have been asked of the second goal he conceded in the 4-2 loss at Fiorentina on Sunday. “These kind of moments can happen,” the ex-Juve and Italy custodian told TMW on Monday afternoon. “You just have to know how to get out of them. “I hope that Gigi accepts that he too can make a mistake and that he doesn’t feel as if he is invincible. He just has to think about playing. http://markting10.nl/ “A goalkeeping problem for Cesare Prandelli as well? I don’t think so. What is more important is the organisation of a team. The goalkeeper is a minor issue.” Asked about Juventus’ collapse in Florence on Sunday, where they lost after going 2-0 up, Tacconi said: “They thought they had already won the game. “At the start of the second half it was clear that they believed Fiorentina were dead. But that can’t happen in Florence.”

Moggi recalls missing Ronaldo Oct 21, 2013 This week’s Real Madrid-Juventus tie has again allowed Luciano Moggi to retell how he almost signed Cristiano Ronaldo for the Old Lady. http://markting10.nl/ “We agreed a swap deal with Sporting Lisbon between Marcelo Salas and Cristiano Ronaldo,” Moggi commented on Sphere Sports this week. “Salas travelled to Portugal, but backed out and went to River Plate instead. “At that moment, Manchester United came in and put an offer on the table that we did not have – a situation that forced us to end our interest.” http://markting10.nl/ Moggi was Juventus’ director general for over a decade before he resigned in the summer of 2006 following the Calciopoli revelations. Ronaldo, who will face the Bianconeri in the Champions League on Wednesday, joined United in 2003. He was sold six years later to the Spaniards for around €94m.

Marotta defends beaten Juventus Oct 21, 2013 Juventus director general Beppe Marotta has defended boss Antonio Conte, Gigi Buffon and the rest of the side following the loss at Fiorentina. http://markting10.nl/ The Old Lady looked like they were on the way to three more points before they threw away a 2-0 lead in the 4-2 Tuscan loss on Sunday. “We are aware that everything is still up for grabs and we should not put the Coach – Antonio Conte is doing a great job and is a winner – or the team on trial,” he said at the Premio Fair Play Calcio e Tv. “You can’t offer any excuses really because the game against Fiorentina was illogical. It is difficult to explain. http://markting10.nl/ “It is a moment of blurring. I wouldn’t talk of a crisis, but psychological tiredness. There was no tactical reason for the loss, we have to improve mentally. “We knew it was going to be a difficult year because of the games we have to play and the value of the opponents.” Some have pointed the finger of blame towards Buffon for the second Giuseppe Rossi goal which he conceded at the Franchi. http://markting10.nl/ “Buffon is a champion, the captain and a leader,” the former Sampdoria official added. “We are used to him doing some extraordinary things. “When he limits himself to the ordinary, when he doesn’t stop everything, there is excessive criticism. “Buffon was and remains the best. Right now we are conceding goals which expose him to criticism, but criticism should be made with respect.” http://markting10.nl/ Juventus will next be in action on Wednesday at Real Madrid, a crucial match given that they have drawn their opening two Champions League games. “We are confident of going to the Bernabeu to play our game. It’s an important tie, there are points up for grabs to be conquered with gritted teeth, but we can reach our objective. “The match at the Bernabeu will be against one of the strongest teams, who we face with respect and with the knowledge that we can have a leading role in the encounter.”

REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS October 23, 2013 8:45 PM Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Manuel Gräfe (Germany) Morata: I won't start against Juventus The 20-year-old was in the first XI against Malaga on Saturday, but he does not feel he has done enough to show he merits a place on Wednesday. Oct 21, 2013 EXCLUSIVE By Alberto Pinero Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata does not believe he will start against Juventus in the Champions League despite playing against Malaga. http://markting10.nl/ The 20-year-old led the line in Saturday's 2-0 victory over the Andalusian outfit, with world-record signing Gareth Bale on the bench and France attacker Karim Benzema left out of the squad completely. However, Morata believes he is likely to be watching from the sidelines against the Serie A champions. "I don't see myself starting against Juventus. I see myself as just one of the team like everyone else," he told Goal. "I'm ready to play when Ancelotti needs me. I hope that we can do well in the Champions League game." http://markting10.nl/ Having made his first-team debut for los Blancos back in 2011, Morata enjoyed what was a rare start in the Madrid line-up at the weekend following impressive appearances off the bench this season. And despite not scoring the youngster was pleased with his display and hopes that the performance will keep him in Carlo Ancelotti's thoughts with the Clasico to come this Saturday. http://markting10.nl/ "Whenever a striker goes home without scoring a goal, it doesn't mean that he did no work at all," Morata continued. "It was a great game against Malaga. We even deserved to have scored one more goal. "They are two great games. We are ready and eager to thrive."

REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS October 23, 2013 8:45 PM Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid Referee: Manuel Gräfe (Germany) Juve have great players, says Pepe Oct 21, 2013 Real Madrid defender Pepe is showing Juventus respect ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League meeting. http://markting10.nl/ Real will host the Bianconeri this week as they look for their third win from three European Cup games this season. “Juventus are one of Europe’s and Italy’s big teams,” he told the Bwin website. “The match could go either way because we are two great teams. “They have two Champions League titles and great footballers. http://markting10.nl/ “We have to respect all of their players. They have key ones like Gigi Buffon and Andrea Pirlo, but I think the most important thing about them is the team as a whole.” When asked which player he would take out of the Juve side if such an opportunity existed, the Portuguese international refused to answer. “They are all very good players, but I don’t think that taking any of them out of the team is good because people like to see that all of the players are at a high level. http://markting10.nl/ “Juve have a lot of them and that is good for the show,” continued the former Porto man. “So that is why I wouldn’t choose anyone.” Juventus have drawn both of their Champions League games this season – against FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray.

Buffon’s recipe for success… Oct 21, 2013 Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon has underlined that spending big is not a guarantee for success on the field of play. http://markting10.nl/ Speaking to AS ahead of this week’s Champions League game at Real Madrid – who spent €100m on Gareth Bale this summer – the veteran said there are many elements to lifting silverware. “Spending and having lots of money does not mean that by force you can win,” the 35-year-old commented. “Therefore, projects are needed, patience, work, balance. Of course, having so much money is a good base in which to start, but that alone is not enough.” http://markting10.nl/ He added: “In the last seven or eight years, Barcelona have surpassed all European clubs in terms of popularity and prestige. “That is because, ultimately, the real difference and value in a club is shown in winning and Barcelona in recent years have won much. “It is the same as with the legend of Madrid, from the 1950s when they won many European Cups.” http://markting10.nl/ Buffon was also asked to comment on the Iker Casillas situation at Real, the Spanish international ‘keeper who is struggling for games. “I can say that it is very unusual to see a goalkeeper like Casillas on the bench,” the Italian noted. “I do not know what happened last year or this year. I have just seen the line-ups. “But I think that last year it was not just a technical issue, but relating to other things. I think it was a relationship problem. http://markting10.nl/ “I really admire Iker. For me, during the moment that I still feel a strong goalkeeper and among the best, it would be hard to accept certain situations. However, he has this merit and I respect that more. “But in the midst of this discourse we must also have respect for Diego Lopez, who in the end, apart from what he is doing this year, has always been an excellent goalkeeper. “Iker has always proven to be a great champion and I think that great champions come out of these negative situations by nature.”
-
Barzagli on the defensive Oct 21, 2013 Centre-back Andrea Barzagli has no answers as to why his Juventus side are now leaking goals with regularity. http://markting10.nl/ The Old Lady have conceded 10 times in eight League games so far after letting in just 24 over the course of 38 matches in Serie A last term. “Unfortunately we’re paying the price this year,” the former Palermo stopper told Sky Sport Italia. “It’s not as if we’re allowing our opponents more shots on goal when compared to last season – but we’re always being punished.” http://markting10.nl/ Antonio Conte’s side amazingly shipped in four goals in a 15-minute period at Fiorentina on Sunday, as they threw away a two-goal lead at the Franchi. “I honestly don’t know how to explain what happened,” Barzagli continued. “There weren’t even signs of a potential Fiorentina comeback. “We dominated the game, going close to scoring a third goal and, before we know it, we find ourselves 3-2 down…”

Buffon: Casillas is a great champion The Juventus goalkeeper has hailed his Real Madrid colleague's professional attitude and is confident he will bounce back. Oct 21, 2013 Juventus shot-stopper Gianluigi Buffon has taken the time to praise Iker Casillas and feels the Real Madrid goalkeeper remains one of the best player in the world in his position. http://markting10.nl/ The Spain international lost his place as Madrid's number one to Diego Lopez under Jose Mourinho last season and has thus far been unable to displace the former Villarreal stopper under new coach Carlo Ancelotti. Buffon is surprised to see Casillas occupying a place among the substitutes, but believes his reaction to losing his spot in the team is great testament to his character and is confident the 32-year-old will bounce back. http://markting10.nl/ "I really admire Iker for who he is. He is still a strong goalkeeper and among the best out there. It is very hard to accept certain situations, but he does just that and I respect that," Buffon was quoted as saying by AS. "Iker has always been a great champion and great champions always find a way out of negative situations like this. When something like this happens, you draw strength from it. "I do not know what happened to him last season. I only saw the line-ups. But I think that last term was not just a sporting decision. It had to do with his relationship [with Jose Mourinho]. http://markting10.nl/ "I don't know what the problem is now, but I can say that it's very unusual to see a goalkeeper like Iker on the bench. Iker has only become a better man to me for his reaction." Casillas has made just two official appearances for Madrid so far this term but could feature in the Blancos' clash with Juve in the Champions League on Wednesday.

FIORENTINA 4 - 2 JUVENTUS Carlos Tévez (PG - 37') Paul Pogba (40′) Giuseppe Rossi (PG - 66′) Giuseppe Rossi (76') Joaquín (78') Giuseppe Rossi (81') October 20, 2013 3:00 PM Artemio Franchi Stadium Florence Referee: Nicola Rizzoli Attendance: 26000 Barzagli speechless over Fiorentina fightback The Italy international was shocked by his side's sudden collapse in the second half and feels Juventus have been lacking a bit of focus. Oct 21, 2013 Andrea Barzagli has voiced his frustration with Juventus' 4-2 Serie A defeat at the hands of Fiorentina on Sunday and was unable to explain what went wrong for the reigning champions as they threw away a two-goal lead after the break. http://markting10.nl/ The Bianconeri appeared to be on their way to the full three points after goals from Carlos Tevez and Paul Pogba, but eventually left the Stadio Artemio Franchi empty-handed after a hat-trick from Giuseppe Rossi and a Joaquin strike. "I honestly don’t know how to explain what just happened," the defender told Sky Sport Italia. "We dominated the game, coming close to scoring a third goal, but before we knew it we found ourselves 3-2 down. There weren’t even signs of a potential Fiorentina comeback. http://markting10.nl/ "Unfortunately we’re paying the price this year. It’s not as if we’re allowing our opponents more shots on goal compared to last season, but we’re always punished. "We’re 99 per cent focused, but clearly this isn’t enough." Juventus will be looking to return to winning ways in Wednesday's Champions League match away against Real Madrid. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

FIORENTINA 4 - 2 JUVENTUS Carlos Tévez (PG - 37') Paul Pogba (40′) Giuseppe Rossi (PG - 66′) Giuseppe Rossi (76') Joaquín (78') Giuseppe Rossi (81') October 20, 2013 3:00 PM Artemio Franchi Stadium Florence Referee: Nicola Rizzoli Attendance: 26000 Conte bemused by Juventus capitulation The Bianconeri coach bemoaned "10 nightmare minutes" that saw his side surrender a comfortable advantage in Florence and condemn them to their first league defeat of the season. Oct 21, 2013 Juventus coach Antonio Conte was left stunned by his team's self-destruction as they let a two-goal lead slip to lose 4-2 at Fiorentina. http://markting10.nl/ The Serie A champions went into Sunday's match unbeaten against the Viola at Stadio Artemio Franchi since 1998, and that run looked like it would continue as they went into half-time two goals up through Carlos Tevez and Paul Pogba. But it was a completely different story after the break, with Giuseppe Rossi grabbing a hat-trick and Juve coach Conte was at a loss to explain the defeat. "I think the game was practically closed. We were in control in every way, even in the second half and had some more great chances to add to our tally," he told Sky Sport Italia. http://markting10.nl/ "Then something strange and unthinkable happened. We lost a match that we had been dominating. How do we explain it? "In 10 minutes we destroyed all the hard work, both during and before the game. We managed to allow Fiorentina back into it and concede odd goals. "This is football. We have to take these 10 nightmare minutes and learn from them. I continue to say this year will be very, very difficult. http://markting10.nl/ "In these 10 minutes we did everything to help Fiorentina get back into the match, more than they had been at any stage. There are huge regrets. "We struggled more last season and got a draw, whereas this time until the 70th minute it was all Juventus. This is football, nothing can be taken for granted." With a Champions League tie against Real Madrid coming up on Wednesday, it had been suggested that Conte's men had let their concentration wander, but the 44-year-old did not feel that this was the case. http://markting10.nl/ "This was an important game in a fiery atmosphere, so we could not be distracted by Real Madrid," Conte said. "We were in the match from the start and only went wrong in those 10 minutes. "It has happened a few times this season that we’ve conceded chaotic goals. We have to work on it. That is all." http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

Oct 20, 2013 The Viola were trailing 2-0 up until the 66th minute, then Rossi got a hat-trick around a Joaquin strike to turn it all around for their first home win over Juve in 15 years. http://markting10.nl/ “They are three very important goals, but the team had an incredible performance in the second half,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “We reacted so well, we all wanted to fight back and it is down to everyone that we achieved it.” http://markting10.nl/ What could Coach Vincenzo Montella have said at half-time to prompt this fightback? “Montella told us to give more, as we got a bit scared after the first goal. We listened to him and did what the Coach wanted. We’re so happy. “Of course this team is built to win. There is great talent on the pitch and in the stands, so we know after this performance that we can challenge anyone.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

FIORENTINA 4 - 2 JUVENTUS Carlos Tévez (PG - 37') Paul Pogba (40′) Giuseppe Rossi (PG - 66′) Giuseppe Rossi (76') Joaquín (78') Giuseppe Rossi (81') October 20, 2013 3:00 PM Artemio Franchi Stadium Florence Referee: Nicola Rizzoli Attendance: 26000 Montella: 'Most enjoyable win' Vincenzo Montella admits Fiorentina-Juventus was a special victory and he “considered replacing” hat-trick hero Giuseppe Rossi. Oct 20, 2013 “It is certainly among my most enjoyable victories. In the first half it was balanced and Juve made the most of our errors, especially on the second goal,” he told Sky Sport Italia after a 4-2 win. http://markting10.nl/ “Juventus didn’t allow us spaces through the middle after the break and stopped us raising the tempo. We looked unable to score, but football is marvellous and the penalty changed the inertia of the game. “We achieved this despite going 2-0 down, despite losing Massimo Ambrosini, despite Rossi having a back problem. “It’s tough to score four goals against Juventus, especially with Antonio Conte in charge, and extraordinarily wonderful to do it in 15 minutes. http://markting10.nl/ “I thank the fans, who behaved impeccably and perhaps at times believed in this result more than we did. I am glad to note there was no crowd trouble either, despite the concerns and rivalry.” Rossi was the hero with a hat-trick, but Montella confesses it wasn’t a good start for Pepito. http://markting10.nl/ “Rossi didn’t have a great game in the first half, but in football quality makes the difference. I considered replacing him, but he’s a player who can change a game even when he’s not well. “He works for the team and is not egotistical. He scored extraordinary goals and gave us the strength to win this match.” http://markting10.nl/ This is Fiorentina’s first home win over Juventus for 15 years, since Gabriel Batistuta sealed a 1-0 result in 1998. “Pressure is part of football. If we had lost today, some would’ve said our season was over, whereas with a win suddenly we’re considered title contenders. We need to keep a balanced and objective view, then wait and see in the long run what the table tells us.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

FIORENTINA 4 - 2 JUVENTUS Carlos Tévez (PG - 37') Paul Pogba (40′) Giuseppe Rossi (PG - 66′) Giuseppe Rossi (76') Joaquín (78') Giuseppe Rossi (81') October 20, 2013 3:00 PM Artemio Franchi Stadium Florence Referee: Nicola Rizzoli Attendance: 26000 Conte: 'Nightmare 10 minutes' Antonio Conte felt Juventus had “dominated” the game with Fiorentina apart from “10 nightmare minutes.”. Oct 20, 2013 The Bianconeri were leading 2-0 until the 66th minute, but eventually lost 4-2 after a Giuseppe Rossi hat-trick and Joaquin counter-attack. http://markting10.nl/ “I think the game was practically closed. We were in control in every way, even in the second half and had some more great chances to add to our tally,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia. “Then something strange and unthinkable happened. We lost a match that we had been dominating. “How do we explain it? An explanation would be easy! In 10 minutes we destroyed all the hard work, both during and before the game. We managed to allow Fiorentina back into it and concede odd goals. http://markting10.nl/ “This is football. We have to take these 10 nightmare minutes and learn from them. I continue to say this year will be very, very difficult. “In these 10 minutes we did everything to help Fiorentina get back into the match, more than they had been at any stage. There are huge regrets. “We struggled more last season and got a draw, whereas this time until the 70th minute it was all Juventus. This is football, nothing can be taken for granted.” http://markting10.nl/ Conte brushed off suggestions Juve were lacking concentration ahead of the Champions League clash with Real Madrid on Wednesday. “This was an important game in a fiery atmosphere, so we could not be distracted by Real Madrid. We were in the match from the start and only went wrong in those 10 minutes. “It has happened a few times this season that we’ve conceded chaotic goals. We have to work on it. That is all.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

FIORENTINA 4 - 2 JUVENTUS Carlos Tévez (PG - 37') Paul Pogba (40′) Giuseppe Rossi (PG - 66′) Giuseppe Rossi (76') Joaquín (78') Giuseppe Rossi (81') October 20, 2013 3:00 PM Artemio Franchi Stadium Florence Referee: Nicola Rizzoli Attendance: 26000 Player Ratings Goal rates every player as a Giuseppe Rossi hat-trick inspires the Viola to a first home league win against the Bianconeri in 15 years. Oct 20, 2013 FIORENTINA Neto - A lapse in communication with Cuadrado gifted Juventus a second goal but aside from that, he commanded his area effectively, making several smart saves. Gonzalo Rodríguez - The Argentine tripped international compatriot Tevez in the box, allowing Juventus to take a lead which they perhaps did not deserve. Facundo Roncaglia - The rugged centre-half contained the threat of Llorente excellently and his quick pressing helped Fiorentina to win the ball back quickly. Stefan Savic - The Montenegrin was a threat from set pieces and despite the odd mistake, he dealt well with Tevez's movement. Manuel Pasqual - Although he added little to the attack, his good positioning and willingness to get back ensured Juventus had little joy down the right. David Pizarro - The Chilean's experience helped Fiorentina to win the ball back in the second half and he kept things simple in the midfield with his accurate passing. Alberto Aquilani - He struggled to make an impact against his former club and it was only after he was replaced that the Viola started to look more threatening. Borja Valero Iglesias - Provided Fiorentina's best chances of scoring with a brilliant creative display and assisted Joaquin's goal. Hardly ever surrendered possession. Massimo Ambrosini - The veteran midfielder gave solid protection to the Viola defence and his absence was sorely felt when he was substituted early on, as Juventus began to take control. Juan Guillermo Cuadrado - His bizarre clearance gifted the ball to Pogba who made it 2-0 in the first half. He redeemed himself in the second, however, with his direct dribbling and quick footwork, epitomised in his assist for Rossi's third. Giuseppe Rossi - After being quiet for 65 minutes, the diminuitive forward sprung to life and inspired the Viola's comeback with a superb hat-trick to take him up to eight goals in eight Serie A matches. http://markting10.nl/ Substitutions M. Fernández - Began the Viola's comeback when be was tripped for the penalty and he also supplied the pass for Rossi's second. Joaquín - Added inspiration to the Fiorentina attack and scored the crucial third goal to complete the turnaround. Ryder Matos - Came on as a late substitute and made an impression with his eagerness to run at the defence. http://markting10.nl/ JUVENTUS Gianluigi Buffon - The Juventus keeper was hardly tested in the first hour and he will not want to see the replays as he allowed Rossi's shot to squirm into the far corner to make it 2-2. Andrea Barzagli - Struggled to cope with Rossi's movement and was found flat-footed on more than one occasion. Leonardo Bonucci - Dealt well with Rossi during the first half, producing several crucial challenges and blocks, but looked uncertain after Joaquin's introduction. Giorgio Chiellini - Whilst he was solid in the air, the hardman turned in an uncharacteristic display as his willingness to get forward allowed Juventus to be exposed on the counterattack. Simone Padoin - Offered little going forward and found it difficult to mark Cuadrado when the Colombian drifted out to the left. Paul Pogba - Capped his return to the side with a goal and his all-round display was crucial to helping Juventus dominate the midfield battle for the majority of the game. Andrea Pirlo - Despite the poor quality of his set-pieces, Pirlo helped to spring Juventus attacks from deep with his clinical range of passing. Claudio Marchisio - Was determined to get forward at every opportunity and was denied by Neto on several occasions. Kwadwo Asamoah - The Ghanaian got into some brilliant attacking positions and put in a solid shift down the left. However, it was somewhat marred by his mis-timed tackle on Fernandez which gave the Viola a penalty. Carlos Tévez - The Argentine's clever movement won a penalty which he converted to open the scoring. However, he was provided with little service during the second half. Fernando Llorente - His strong hold-up play helped to bring his team-mates into the game and although he had few chances in front of goal, he was determined to get back to help out defensively. http://markting10.nl/ Substitutions Marco Motta - Came on as a late substitute, only to be booked for a nasty challenge on Pasqual. Arturo Vidal - Was put on the bench as a punishment for missing his flight back from international duty but could not help Juventus to prevent Fiorentina's outstanding comeback. Sebastian Giovinco - He was introduced in the hope of being a super-sub but he struggled to make an impact. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

FIORENTINA 4 - 2 JUVENTUS Carlos Tévez (PG - 37') Paul Pogba (40′) Giuseppe Rossi (PG - 66′) Giuseppe Rossi (76') Joaquín (78') Giuseppe Rossi (81') October 20, 2013 3:00 PM Artemio Franchi Stadium Florence Referee: Nicola Rizzoli Attendance: 26000 A psychological breakdown results in a Fiorentina comeback Oct 20, 2013 An unbelievable match. An unpredictable result. For the first time in 15 years, Fiorentina won a home match against Juventus. For the first time in his coaching career, Vincenzo Montella defeated an Antonio Conte led side. For the first time ever, Conte's Juve conceded four goals in a game to lose 4-2 away against the Viola. http://markting10.nl/ Juventus are wounded. Never have a side famed for their mental fortitude and ability to close out games collapse so tragically during a match. After going 2-0 up in the first half, the Bianconeri did well to penetrate effectively and get past Fiorentina's pressing game to score twice. However, so capable of individual errors this season, Juventus fell apart after Gianluigi Buffon's mistake and lost their ability to stand firm and defend. It's now ten goals conceded in eight games for a team that only let in 20 goals in their first season under Conte. Looking back at the first half, Fiorentina may have out passed Juve as they continued to rotate the ball, but they lacked a plan B in attack. Aware that they only had Giuseppe Rossi up top, their play had to be patient and focused around through-balls and intricate play. http://markting10.nl/ Pressing high up the pitch, the plan was to disturb Juve's rhythm as well as win the ball back in advanced positions in order to facilitate their journey to goal. However, Juve's defence stood firm whilst the Viola's movement seemed utterly blunt. With the midfield congested and both defences looking solid, the only way either side was going to score was if there was an individual error, or from a dead ball situation. That error came as a silly challenge on Carlos Tevez resulted in a penalty for the Old Lady that was converted by the Argentine. Juventus were 1-0 up and happy. The second goal came only three minutes later, when Paul Pogba exploited a defensive mistake to score and lift the away crowd. Montella's men were well on their way to yet another loss at home to Juve. The second half started in much the same way. The Old Lady was in control whilst the Viola struggled to really create any threatening chances. There were opportunities for the Bianconeri to add to their tally, whether it was from an Andrea Pirlo freekick or Claudio Marchisio's timely runs forward. Norberto Neto was working hard to keep his team in the game as he pulled off some good saves. http://markting10.nl/ Meanwhile, Fiorentina needed a change and it came when Montella opted to take off Alberto Aquilani and bring on Joaquin to allow for more attacking play. A challenge from Kwadwo Asamoah resulted in a penalty for the home side and Rossi scored to make it 1-2 for Fiorentina. Juventus held on. They continued to seek their own chances and a determined Giorgio Chiellini went close to scoring from a header. The Viola were struggling to be consistent with their forward thrusts until Rossi took a shot that beat Buffon for the equaliser. Once again, it's that easy for this Juventus side to concede. Another individual error, by the captain on this occasion, gifted Fiorentina the leveller and the Stadio Artemio Franchi was rocking. http://markting10.nl/ The Old Lady immediately fell apart and lost all ability to defend with discipline and intelligence. Asamoah in particular had a torrid time, while the entire defence were being shifted around. With Joaquin completely unmarked, the home side netted another to stun the Bianconeri. Three goals in 12 minutes. Conte's men simply could not handle the pace of their opponents and defensive organisation went out the door. You can blame individuals and some may even blame the coach but this was down to a pure psychological breakdown. The team that thought this would be an easy win after Fiorentina's early bluntness lost their focus, adopted a nonchalant attitude and then surrendered to panic and madness to gift the Tuscans the win they have dreamed of for 15 years. http://markting10.nl/ Up until the madness, Juve had defended well. What they cannot fight off effectively this season is that tendency to surrender to complacency. Conte has said it dozens of times: it's difficult to win three titles in a row and especially difficult considering the level of competition this season. This defeat had to come. This defeat may well be a blessing in disguise. Such psychological breakdowns can never be tolerated for a club that practically walked to the league title last season. The mental fortitude must return, the hunger has to be keenly felt and there needs to be more of a fight to maintain accuracy and solidity. Roma demonstrated the impact a healthy mind can have on a result and it's up to the Bianconeri now to show they want to win and will do everything to do so. Glory is there for the taking. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
