Asamoah: 'Inter are strong' Sep 12, 2013 Kwadwo Asamoah is impressed by Saturday’s opponents Inter, but believes Juventus need only “think about ourselves.” AMAZONIAN The Ghanaian midfielder sat down with JTV and looked ahead to the San Siro trip on Saturday at 17.00 UK time. “Inter are a strong side, who also began well last season. I’m expecting a good game, but we mustn’t think about them, just ourselves,” said Asamoah. “I’m happy with how my Juventus experience is going. I’ve won a Scudetto title and two Super Cups in the space of a year. I’ve always got on well with everyone, this team is like a family.” The Bianconeri have started out with a 100 per cent record after two rounds, matching Inter, Fiorentina, Napoli and Roma. AMAZONIAN “The group’s been bolstered by the arrival of players who have shown great personality, both on and off the field. “We know that it will be a difficult year, and that’s why we worked even harder over the summer in order to prepare ourselves. “We’re aware of our strengths and know that if we apply our spirit and ruthless approach we can once again achieve important targets.”

Real Madrid want Llorente? Sep 12, 2013 FIFA agents added to Spanish speculation Juventus striker Fernando Llorente could join Real Madrid on loan in January. http://markting10.nl/ The forward arrived over the summer as a free agent after his contract with Athletic Bilbao expired, but the 28-year-old has barely set foot on the pitch so far. Both Italian and Spanish media have suggested Llorente could be available on loan in January to regain his fitness and form. “Fernando Llorente could get transferred to Real Madrid and play in the Champions League, as he is not getting minutes with Juve,” commented FIFA accredited agent Francois Gallardo to Punto Pelota. “Fernando is very good, he knows the Spanish League and if he arrives on loan then the club won’t be splashing out in January.”

INTER - JUVENTUS September 14, 2013 6:00 PM Giuseppe Meazza Stadium — Milan Referee: Daniele Orsato Buffon aware of Inter threat Sep 12, 2013 Juventus captain Gigi Buffon is showing Inter respect ahead of Saturday’s San Siro Derby d’Italia showdown. The Old Lady have started their quest for a third successive Scudetto in confident mood, but the Nerazzurri also have a 100 per cent record after two games. http://markting10.nl/ “It’s time to concentrate on the championship again and Inter because we can’t make any mistakes,” Buffon, who secured World Cup qualification with Italy in midweek, told Tuttosport. “It won’t be an easy game. Actually, right now, it is possibly the most difficult we could play. They are in good shape, charged up with enthusiasm after a good start, eager to confirm themselves.” The Milanese club made changes this summer after finishing last term in ninth. As well as new players, they replaced boss Andrea Stramaccioni with Walter Mazzarri. “They could repeat our cycle,” the goalkeeper, whose Juve side went from two seventh-place finishes to back-to-back titles, added. “There are similarities – they have rebuilt and there is a new Coach who is very good, another reason to respect them ahead of the game. “I don’t know what a defeat could signify for them at this moment in time,” he continued. “They are only at the start of a new project. “Their project is a solid one and they can implement it without worrying about playing in Europe. I don’t think one lost game can bring an end to it. “But we need a victory for us, not a victory to stop them.”

INTER - JUVENTUS September 14, 2013 6:00 PM Giuseppe Meazza Stadium — Milan Referee: Daniele Orsato Quagliarella set for Inter start Sep 11, 2013 Fabio Quagliarella is increasingly likely to start for Juventus against Inter on Saturday after he scored a brace in training. http://markting10.nl/ The Bianconeri visit San Siro at 17.00 UK time on Saturday, but Mirko Vucinic is a major doubt after he was stretchered off while on international duty with Montenegro. Quagliarella is emerging as the favourite to partner Carlos Tevez, as Fernando Llorente is still not finding his form after a year of barely featuring for Athletic Bilbao. This afternoon Juve played a friendly test against Serie D team Borgomanero that ended 7-0 with Quagliarella and Tevez bagging a brace each. Llorente, Sebastian Giovinco and Ouasim Buoy completed the rout. The Turin giants have also lost Simone Pepe and Martin Caceres to injury this week.

Buffon a true champion, says Marotta The Juventus director has praised the veteran keeper's professionalism and says he would like to see him retire with the Turin giants. Sep 11, 2013 Juventus director Beppe Marotta has lauded Gianluigi Buffon as a true champion and voiced his hope that the goalkeeper will retire at the club. http://markting10.nl/ The Bianconeri skipper has spent the last 12 years in Turin, winning four Serie A titles with the club and becoming captain in 2012. Marotta believes the 35-year-old is an excellent professional and would like to see the former Parma man continue to represent the club for years to come. "Buffon is a true champion," he told La giornalaccio rosa dello Sport. "He is a superlative professional. http://markting10.nl/ "My hope and wish is that he can defend Italy and Juve's goal for many years to come. "I believe and I hope that he will finish his career with Juve and this is the basis for him to remain at Juve for a long time."

Juventus expect Gianluigi Buffon to remain at the club Sep 11, 2013 Juventus expect Gianluigi Buffon to remain at the club for the rest of his playing days. http://markting10.nl/ The Italy goalkeeper received a standing ovation in the 2-1 triumph over the Czech Republic in Turin after he equalled the record of 136 international appearances set by former Azzurri captain Fabio Cannavaro. Buffon has proved crucial in helping Italy book a place in next year's World Cup having conceded just five goals in eight games in qualifying. "Buffon is a true champion," Juventus club administrator Giuseppe Marotta said to giornalaccio rosa dello Sport. "He is a superlative professional. "He deserves this recognition. "My hope and wish is that he can defend Italy and Juve's goal for many years to come. http://markting10.nl/ "I believe and I hope that he will finish his career with Juve and this is the basis for him to remain at Juve for a long time." Buffon joined Juve in 2001 from Parma and signed a two-year extension to his contract in January which will keep him at the Serie A champions until 2015. The 35-year-old, who won the World Cup with Italy in 2006, recently stated he has no plans to retire from international duty and has one eye on the European Championship in 2016.

Buffon: 'Now we celebrate' Sep 11, 2013 Gigi Buffon admits he was “terrorised” of the party atmosphere in Turin, but after victory can celebrate his record 136 caps. http://markting10.nl/ The World Cup qualifier with the Czech Republic had been painted as a huge festival of football, as Buffon matched Fabio Cannavaro’s total Italy caps at the Juventus Stadium and a win would book their spot at Brazil 2014. “I am terrorised of the lead-ups to games that are proclaimed as parties,” laughed the goalkeeper on RAI Sport. The Azzurri were trailing 1-0 at the break, but fought back for a 2-1 win. “Once that first half was over, we can now say that we can celebrate everything – my little personal record, but above all the qualification for the World Cup. “I thank all the lads, as thanks to them I can celebrate 360 degrees tonight. We have created so much together over these years and I thank the fans for cheering us on today, as it felt like a new atmosphere to have so much support for the Nazionale. That wasn’t always the case. “We also dedicate this victory to those two lads who were coming to see us in Sicily and sadly never got there.” Buffon was referring to the two Sicilian fans who died in a car crash on their way to Friday’s World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria in Palermo. Mario Balotelli missed several sitters in the first half, but Buffon assured there was no need to calm him down at the break. “There was nothing for us to say. The Coach focused on that and we just helped him feel within a sense of calm and confidence. He never takes penalties in training, as he knows we might face him one day and doesn't want to give us any advantages...” Buffon is now the joint all-time top Italy player with 136 caps and at the age of 35 revealed the secret to his longevity. “There were times in my life when I wanted to have fun and I did, particularly as my body allowed me to. After reaching a certain age you realise that in order to last you have to become a man and behave in a certain way.” Italy and Holland are the only European teams to have already qualified for the World Cup, but Buffon sees the Azzurri outside the favourites. “In my view we are on the third row of the grid, but ready for a quick start and potential late surge.”

Chiellini: 'We felt cursed...' Sep 11, 2013 Giorgio Chiellini feared the match with the Czech Republic was “cursed,” but sent Italy on their way to the World Cup. Mario Balotelli hit the bar and missed several sitters as the Azzurri went into the break 1-0 down, but Chiellini’s header and a Balotelli penalty sealed the 2-1 victory in Turin. http://markting10.nl/ “The Coach just told Balotelli to relax, as we knew he’d score sooner or later. He is a decisive player and we saw that again tonight,” the defender told RAI Sport. “He will probably never miss those chances again in his career! It was strange to see him miss, so we were starting to fear it was a cursed game, but we started out strong in the second half because we wanted this celebration at all costs tonight. “We know our limitations and our qualities. On the field you must help each other out to hide the defects and make the most of our many positives. “We might not have the best individuals in the world, but as a collective on the field we make everyone raise their game. “We certainly cannot give away these chances at the World Cup. I don’t believe it was a dip in tension or concentration, but rather a lack of sharpness as we pushed so hard to fight back that we were tired. I think it’s clear that without concentration this squad won’t get far!” Italy and Holland have already qualified for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. “I’d put Spain and Brazil as the favourites.”

Del Piero marks Buffon record Sep 10, 2013 Alessandro Del Piero wrote an open letter to Gigi Buffon congratulating him on his record 136th Italy cap tonight. http://markting10.nl/ The goalkeeper will mark the occasion – matching Fabio Cannavaro’s tally – at the Juventus Stadium in Turin against the Czech Republic. “Dear Gigi, just a couple of words (unusually in public…) to celebrate a great target that you'll reach tonight: 136 caps for Italy, you have tied the record of our friend - Fabio Cannavaro, the captain of ‘our’ World Cup,” wrote Del Piero on his blog. “We shared a lot of these presences, sometimes suffering, but mostly getting crazy of joy. Just think of all the unforgettable memories both in Juventus and in the National team. “I am happy that you can represent the Italian National Team with the captain's armband, achieving this prestigious goal. Good luck to you and the rest of the team for your qualification for Brazil 2014! “Alessandro”

Buffon to equal Italy cap record Sep 10, 2013 Gianluigi Buffon is set to match the appearance record of Fabio Cannavaro when Italy face the Czech Republic this evening. The Juventus man is just one cap short of the 136 which were won by his former club and international teammate. http://markting10.nl/ The goalkeeper, who has conceded 109 goals while guarding the Azzurri net, made his debut in a World Cup play-off tie against Russia in October 1997. The now 35-year-old, who will be playing in his club stadium this evening, was a key part of the 2006 World Cup winning side. Buffon was also instrumental in Friday’s 1-0 win over Bulgaria when he made a string of fine saves. “They have a monument in goal,” reflected Bulgaria boss Luboslav Penev after the Palermo tie. Brazil 2014 would be the legend’s fifth World Cup if he is named in Cesare Prandelli’s squad.

Marotta 'optimistic' Pirlo will sign Sep 10, 2013 Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta has admitted he is ‘optimistic’ that Andrea Pirlo will sign a new deal. http://markting10.nl/ The veteran midfielder’s current contract runs out next summer, but the administrator is confident that the 34-year-old will sign on the dotted line. “Pirlo? I am quite optimistic about his renewal,” Marotta told Sky Sport Italia.

INTER - JUVENTUS September 14, 2013 6:00 PM Giuseppe Meazza Stadium — Milan Referee: Daniele Orsato Inter out to stun Juventus, insists Zanetti The Argentine defender is looking forward to the upcoming Derby d'Italia and hopes the Nerazzurri can cause an upset. Sep 10, 2013 Inter skipper Javier Zanetti is eagerly anticipating this weekend's Serie A match against Juventus and is hopeful the Giuseppe Meazza side can record a shock win. Zanetti, who is still out of action because of an Achilles injury suffered at the end of last season, acknowledges that the Turin giants are the team to beat, but has insisted that the Nerazzurri will do their utmost to bag the full three points on Saturday. http://markting10.nl/ "Juventus are a great team that has been playing well for years. We’re going to give our all. I believe we’re a team making rapid progress. It won’t be an easy game. We’ll see what happens on the pitch," the 40-year-old told reporters. "It will be a big match, as it always is between these two great clubs. It’s a game you really get up for: it means a lot and we hope it goes well for us. "I think Juventus are a great team and I’m sure they’ll fight to the end to win the league."

INTER - JUVENTUS September 14, 2013 6:00 PM Giuseppe Meazza Stadium — Milan Referee: Daniele Orsato Marchisio wary of 'fierce' Inter threat The 27-year-old, who will miss Saturday’s Derby d’Italia with an injury, believes victory over the Nerazzurri would grant a timely boost of confidence. Sep 10, 2013 Claudio Marchisio has warned that Inter will make life extremely difficult for Juventus in Saturday’s Derby d’Italia. The Nerazurri brought the Serie A champions' 49-game unbeaten run to an end in Turin last season as a brace from Diego Milito inspired his side to a 3-1 win, although the Bianconeri exacted revenge with a 2-1 win in Milan in March. http://markting10.nl/ Marchisio has urged his team-mates to be fully focused against Walter Mazzarri's "fierce" outfit this weekend, stating that a win over their rivals would grant a timely confidence boost so early in the season. "Inter have always made it difficult for us," he told reporters. "They beat us last year and also have a new coach. They are capable of playing good, fierce football. "For us to beat a strong team like Inter on the third day of the season would be a real boost of confidence." The Italy international will miss the clash after picking up an injury in the 4-1 Supercoppa clash with Lazio. He added: "I am sorry not to be there, but the team is doing well. I have great confidence in my team-mates."

Uefa must help Italian football, says Marotta The Juventus official has urged European football's governing body to act and added that a process of reform is necessary. Sep 9, 2013 Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta feels Uefa must intervene to help Italian football close the financial gap with other nations. Marotta believes that varying tax regimes across Europe are one of the reasons why Serie A clubs are no longer able to pay the same transfer fees and wages as foreign sides and thinks European football's governing body could play a role in changing the situation. http://markting10.nl/ "The varying tax regimes in other countries are penalising Italian football," Marotta told reporters. "These need to be harmonised because otherwise they create disparity, which is why I hope Uefa intervene." The Bianconeri official then went on to say that it's vital for Italian clubs to start a process of gradual change and improve their facilities. "It's essential Italian football undergoes reform, beginning with stadium facilities, most of which are currently in disrepair. "We need new legislation on stadiums because one of the reasons we're lagging behind other countries is the difference in income from stadiums."

Gilardino wanted Juventus move, says Bonucci The defender has claimed that his international team-mate was keen on a move to the reigning Italian champions. Sep 9, 2013 Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci has revealed that fellow Italy international Alberto Gilardino told him he was keen to join the Serie A champions earlier this summer. The 31-year-old Genoa striker was on the verge of a move to the Turin giants in the closing stages of the transfer window, but the transfer eventually fell through for unknown reasons. http://markting10.nl/ "Gila has told me that he would have been very pleased to join Juventus," Bonucci was quoted as saying by Tuttosport. "It's a shame that he didn't sign for Juventus in the end. He would have been another option for us. "His arrival would have been convenient for Antonio Conte." Gilardino has a contract with Genoa until June 2016.

INTER - JUVENTUS September 14, 2013 6:00 PM Giuseppe Meazza Stadium — Milan Referee: Daniele Orsato 'Always tension before big matches' Sep 9, 2013 Inter captain Javier Zanetti has admitted he is nervous ahead of their clash with Juventus at the weekend. The Nerazzurri play the Bianconeri on Saturday, and the Argentine defender has claimed that his side have a ‘great desire’ to win the match. http://markting10.nl/ “You always feel a tension before an important match,” he told reporters. “I am just sorry I can’t play. “Juventus are a great team, but we will try hard to beat them. [Coach Walter] Mazzarri is a hard worker and will do his best. “At the beginning of the season I was struck by the young players especially. They all have a great desire to do well.”

Marchisio confident ahead of Inter Sep 9, 2013 Claudio Marchisio has insisted he has great confidence in his Juventus teammates to put in a good performance against Inter. The Bianconeri play the Nerazzurri this Saturday in the Derby d’Italia, and the midfielder, who is injured for the clash, believes it will be a tough encounter for his men. http://markting10.nl/ “Inter have always made it difficult for us,” he told reporters. “They beat us last year and also have a new Coach. “They are capable of playing good, fierce football. “For us to beat a strong team like Inter on the third day of the season would be a real boost of confidence. “I am sorry not to be there, but the team is doing well. I have great confidence in my teammates.”

Marotta calls for reform Sep 9, 2013 Juventus director general Giuseppe Marotta has underlined how crucial new stadiums could be for the re-birth of Italian football. Top Serie A sides are lagging behind their European rivals in terms of generating revenue, with council-owned arenas seen as a significant handicap. http://markting10.nl/ “It's essential Italian football undergoes reform, beginning with stadium facilities, most of which are currently in disrepair,” Marotta said at a conference in Cernobbio. “We need new legislation on stadiums because one of the reasons we're lagging behind other countries is the difference in income from them.” Juventus, of course, are the exception given that they own the Juventus Stadium – a venue which will host Italy’s World Cup qualifier against the Czech Republic on Tuesday. “It’s a modern stadium, part of the club's heritage, which is welcoming, iconic and safe. These are all prerequisites for a good arena,” added the former Sampdoria official. “We hope the Italy game can be decisive for qualification. It’s a real point of pride for us to host the national team at the Juventus Stadium.” Marotta also called on UEFA, European Football’s governing body, to help level out the playing field. “The varying tax regimes in other countries are penalising Italian football,” Marotta said as he mirrored the concerns of Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani. “These need to be harmonised because otherwise they create disparity, which is why I hope UEFA intervene.”

Bonucci and Maggio trust De Rossi Sep 8, 2013 Leonardo Bonucci and Christian Maggio are confident Daniele De Rossi can do well as a centre-back for Italy against the Czech Republic. http://markting10.nl/ The Roma midfielder was tested out in defence for a 3-5-2 system in today’s training session ahead of the World Cup qualifier on Tuesday. “I am not particularly surprised, as he has already played that role in the past,” Maggio told Sky Sport Italia. “Of course, Daniele did not start as a defender, but he has the technical qualities that allow him to play in that role. In fact, having such good feet means he’s useful in launching moves from the back.” De Rossi has previously played for the Azzurri in a four-man defence, while he occasionally took that position in a back three for Roma. “Competition is just further motivation to do better and improve, as we must all be ready,” added Juventus defender Bonucci. It is like De Rossi and Bonucci will be joined by Giorgio Chiellini against the Czech Republic. The World Cup qualifier kicks off at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT) at the Juventus Stadium on Tuesday.

Berlin veterans save Italy Italy moved a step closer to the 2014 World Cup thanks to two stars of the 2006 tournament, says Susy Campanale. Sep 8, 2013 The Azzurri have the chance to make history on Tuesday against the Czech Republic. A win would mean Italy book their ticket to the World Cup in Brazil, securing qualification with two rounds to spare – something the Nazionale has never previously achieved. It wasn’t always pretty, but September fixtures rarely are, especially when players like Mario Balotelli, Dani Osvaldo and Riccardo Montolivo are suspended. The credit goes to two men: Alberto Gilardino and Gigi Buffon. http://markting10.nl/ It was a night for the Old Guard in Palermo, as 31-year-old Gila silenced his critics with a well-taken header and 35-year-old Buffon put in one of the best goalkeeping performances of his glittering career. Is it a coincidence these two players also won the World Cup in 2006? Cesare Prandelli doesn’t think so. “When Gila runs out of energy, he keeps going, as that is what a World Cup winner and a Nazionale player has to do. He knows how to suffer and feels no fear.” Nobody ever said Gilardino should be first choice for Italy, but as a valid alternative to the fiery Balotelli and Osvaldo he’s just the ticket. We’ve already seen this term that veterans like Luca Toni still have much to give, while nobody is more consistent in front of goal over the last few years than Antonio Di Natale. It was really Buffon’s night in Palermo and boy did he deserve that. For months we’ve listened to armchair pundits complain Gigi has ‘lost it’ and ‘can’t get down quick enough’ to block shots. A sprightly kitten couldn’t have reacted quicker to those Bulgaria efforts from point-blank range. He was simply magnificent and his post-match comments only reiterated his position as a true captain, both on and off the field. We’ve recently seen Manuel Neuer and Joe Hart commit howlers, so I say Buffon is still up there as the best goalkeeper in the world. All of Italy now waits for Tuesday night, when Buffon can match Fabio Cannavaro’s all-time record of 136 Italy caps, secure World Cup qualification historically early and soak up the praise from his very own Juventus Stadium crowd. There’s plenty of life in the old dogs yet.

INTER - JUVENTUS September 14, 2013 6:00 PM Giuseppe Meazza Stadium — Milan Referee: Daniele Orsato No injury worries for Inter striker despite absence in friendly Sep 8, 2013 Inter striker Mauro Icardi was held out of the Nerazzurri’s friendly against Lugano on Saturday but it is believed the youngster will be available for next weekend’s match against Juventus. http://markting10.nl/ The friendly saw the return of heralded striker Diego Milito to the first team as the Argentine striker scored a second half goal to help the Nerazzurri fight back from two goals down to snatch a 2-2 draw against the Swiss side. While the veteran’s return is a positive for the Beneamata there were concerns as Icardi was a notable absentee from the match. However fcinternews.it have stated that Icardi, who is still recovering from a knock picked up against Genoa on opening day, will be available for the side when they take on rivals Juventus in the Derby d’Italia on Saturday. Icardi joined the Nerazzurri earlier this summer from Sampdoria after scoring ten goals in 31 appearances for the Blucerchiati last season.

INTER - JUVENTUS September 14, 2013 6:00 PM Giuseppe Meazza Stadium — Milan Referee: Daniele Orsato Marotta: 'Inter Scudetto favourites' Sep 8, 2013 Juventus director general Beppe Marotta warned next weekend’s opponents Inter are “among the Scudetto favourites.” The Derby d’Italia is next Saturday, kicking off at 17.00 UK time, and after two rounds they both have a 100 per cent record. http://markting10.nl/ “We will face an important test against a strong side that renewed very well. I think Inter can do a great deal this season,” declared Marotta at a public event in Cernobbio. “Walter Mazzarri has revitalised the feeling around the club and this is why I think Inter should be considered among the Scudetto favourites.” Bianconeri director general Marotta also commented on the UEFA Financial Fair Play rules which in his view do not go far enough. “The fiscal disparity in European football absolutely damages Italian clubs in international tournaments. “The objective now is to create harmony in the rapport with other nations. I hope UEFA will intervene, otherwise the competition is falsified.”

Buffon: 'My loves, Juve and Italy' Sep 8, 2013 Gianluigi Buffon will earn a record 136th cap in Turin on Tuesday, combining “my two great loves: Italy and Juventus.” When the Czech Republic visit the Juventus Stadium, the goalkeeper has the chance to match Fabio Cannavaro as the player with most senior Azzurri caps. http://markting10.nl/ “My rapport with the Nazionale runs very deep. Every time I pulled on the Azzurri jersey, I have felt a more mature person,” Buffon told Sky Sport Italia. “Catching Cannavaro’s record means a lot of time has passed, as I’ve been in the Nazionale for 16 years, or 20 if you count the youth levels. I always tried to raise our tricolore flag as high as possible and I still want to win something.” That included winning the 2006 World Cup and only a couple of months later dropping down into Serie B to stay with Juventus. “I have had the fortune as a professional football player of staying in the same locker room for many years, 13 with Juventus and 16 with the Nazionale. “They are both stories of great love, passion and affection that mapped out my life, where I met many wonderful people, experienced victories and defeats. “It would be nice to win another World Cup. We do have the potential to do it, although clearly other nations have an even better chance. “I would never give up on the Nazionale. I don’t see why I should, unless it is a decision by the Coach that I would accept without problems. I haven’t the courage to give up and it’d be a shame to do so if I was still competitive.” Buffon was asked if he would trade Italy winning another World Cup if it meant he wasn’t the captain. “That would be absolutely fine with me. Lifting the Cup or being captain is irrelevant. In fact, I sometimes feel a little embarrassed to be the one who picks it up.”
-
Pogba: 'I've done nothing yet' Sep 8, 2013 Paul Pogba is now a Juventus fan favourite, but insists he’s “not a King or Ballon d’Or winner, so I can’t stop now.” http://markting10.nl/ The 20-year-old former Manchester United midfielder is already a full France international, a regular starter for Juve and won the Under-20 World Cup. “Nothing has changed for me,” Pogba told French newspaper L’Equipe. “People do not look at me differently. Winning the Under-20 World Cup was fantastic and it was great to be voted best player of the tournament. “However, these things don’t make you King of the world. I haven’t won the Ballon d’Or. I can’t stop now.”

Buffon: Italy can win World Cup The goalkeeper is confident the Azzurri can be crowned world champions again, while revealing his pride as he prepares to match Fabio Cannavaro's appearance record. Sep 8, 2013 Gianluigi Buffon believes Italy have what it takes to lift a second World Cup inside eight years. The Azzurri lifted the trophy back in 2006 and also reached the final of Euro 2012, with the Juventus goalkeeper hungry for a second taste of World Cup glory. http://markting10.nl/ "It would be nice to win another World Cup," he told Sky Sport Italia. "We do have the potential to do it, although clearly other nations have an even better chance. "I would never give up on the Nazionale. I don't see why I should, unless it is a decision by the coach that I would accept without problems. I haven't the courage to give up and it'd be a shame to do so if I was still competitive." The Juventus man is just one cap behind current record holder Fabio Cannavaro and will go level with him when Italy meet Czech Republic in Turin on Tuesday. And Buffon, 35, admitted that emulating the achievement of his former team-mate would be a high point in his career. He added: "Catching Cannavaro’s record means a lot of time has passed, as I've been in the national team for 16 years, or 20 if you count the youth levels. "I always tried to raise our tricolore flag as high as possible and I still want to win something." Victory on Tuesday would secure Italy's place in Brazil next year.
