Serie A Week 6 - 2/10/2011 (08:45 p.m.) 2 - 0 87′ Claudio Marchisio 90+2′ Claudio Marchisio Juventus Arena - Turin Referee: N. Rizzoli Attendance: 42000 Player Ratings Goal.com analyses the performances of the players on show as the hosts grabbed all three points in a late, late show. Oct 2, 2011 Juventus Gianluigi Buffon 6.0 - The experienced shot-stopper was largely untested but demonstrated his ability to maintain his concentration levels by flicking Boateng's volley wide. Andrea Barzagli 6.0 - Celebrated his return to the Italian national squad for the first time in three years by helping his side keep a clean sheet. Didn't have much to do due to Milan's lack of attacking threat. Leonardo Bonucci 6.5 - Almost scored with a bundled effort seconds after the break. Like his partner, he was not offered much of a challenge by Milan's front two. Giorgio Chiellini 6.0 - Started at left-back and was free to get forward in the lack of an attacking threat from Milan down the flank. There were some distribution problems at times, but nothing disastrous. Stephan Lichtsteiner 6.5 - Bombed forward at every opportunity, providing more of an attacking threat than Krasic in his time on the park. Will be a little disappointed with the quality of his delivery, though. Andrea Pirlo 7.5 - Played the regista role to perfection, keeping his side firmly in control with crisp and precise passing. Fired in a few testing shots on goal and picked out Bonucci with a cross which he almost converted. Claudio Marchisio 7.5 - The midfielder may have been fortunate with both of his goals, but his was a match-winning contribution. And, in any case, his one-two with Vucinic to manufacture the first opportunity was an impressive move. Simone Pepe 6.0 - Played on the left of Juventus' midfield four until Krasic was replaced early in the second half, moving over to the right from then on in, but wasn't much of a threat despite looking lively in spells. Milos Krasic 5.0 - Despite his side's dominance, the Serbian made almost no impact and was replaced after just 54 minutes. One unsuccessful attempt to take on Van Bommel summed up his night. Arturo Vidal Pardo 7.0 - The Chilean was a real driving force for his side. He rained in shots on goal with varying levels of success, but his dynamic presence was a key factor in his side's control of the midfield. Mirko Vučinić 7.0 - The Montenegro international was given a lone striking role from where he had an effective 90 minutes. Went close on several occasions, including an impressive effort which hit the underside of the crossbar. Also played his part in the first goal, working a one-two with Marchisio to put him in on goal.

Serie A Week 6 - 2/10/2011 (08:45 p.m.) 2 - 0 87′ Claudio Marchisio 90+2′ Claudio Marchisio Juventus Arena - Turin Referee: N. Rizzoli Attendance: 42000 Oct 2, 2011 Claudio Marchisio scored two late goals to hand Juventus victory over AC Milan in Turin tonight. The Italian midfielder gave Juve a deserved lead three minutes from time. Milan then had Kevin-Prince Boateng sent off for a second bookable offence and Marchisio notched his second in injury time. The result lifts unbeaten Juve to the top of the standings, level on 11 points with Udinese. Milan, meanwhile, have just five points from five games. Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic missed the last three league games through injury but returned to the line-up to face his former club. The hosts dominated the opening stages and former AC Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo was first to test Christian Abbiati with a 30-yard drive towards the near post which the goalkeeper saved. Juve almost went in front in the 37th minute. Mirko Vucinic's right-footed shot from the edge of the area struck the crossbar with Abbiati well beaten. With Milan opting for a defensive approach, the home side continued to press forward and came close to scoring just before the break as Vucinic's powerful drive went just wide of the far post. Juve picked up where they left off after the re-start with Abbiati forced to palm Leonardo Bonucci's close-range effort over the bar. At the other end, Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon turned Boateng's right-footed strike round the post for a corner. Shortly after the hour mark, Milan wasted a good chance when Clarence Seedorf fed Ibrahimovic but the Swede was unable to control the ball inside the area and the opportunity went begging. Juve finally broke the deadlock in the 87th minute when Daniele Bonera's poor clearance fell to Marchisio, who fired past Abbiati. Seconds later, Boateng was handed his marching orders after brushing Giorgio Chiellini's face with his arm as he ran past. Juve got their second when Abbiati allowed Marchisio's volley from outside the area to go in between his legs. Serie A Week 6 - 2/10/2011 (08:45 p.m.) 2 - 0 87′ Claudio Marchisio 90+2′ Claudio Marchisio Juventus Arena - Turin Referee: N. Rizzoli Attendance: 42000 Marchisio stuns Milan Oct 2, 2011 Claudio Marchisio grabbed two late Juventus goals to beat Milan after Kevin-Prince Boateng saw red. This was the first real test of Juve's Scudetto credentials and they needed a victory to keep up with Udinese at the top of the table. Pirlo shook off a knock to the knee so he could face his former teammates, but Giorgio Chiellini was moved to left-back with Mirko Vucinic the lone centre-forward. Zlatan Ibrahimovic returned midweek against Viktoria Plzen, though Alexandre Pato, Robinho, Gennaro Gattuso, Philippe Mexes and Mathieu Flamini were still sidelined. Kevin-Prince Boateng made his comeback, but felt the problem in his ribs again during the warm-up and only decided moments before kick-off whether to start the game. The Rossoneri had won their last two trips to Turin, scoring four goals and keeping clean sheets. Their most recent defeat was 4-2 in December 2008, while the fixture hadn't ended in a stalemate since March 2006. This was, however, Milan's first ever visit to the new Juventus Stadium. Christian Abbiati tipped a Stephan Lichtsteiner cross-shot over the bar, while Claudio Marchisio blasted over and the goalkeeper smothered a long-range Pirlo strike. Abbiati punched a Pirlo free kick off the line, but Simone Pepe got back to charge down Ibra's half-volley for a corner. Abbiati also smothered when Mirko Vucinic spun round to fire low. Vucinic went extremely close to an opener on 36 minutes when he lobbed from outside the box, which Abbiati at full stretch fingertipped on to the crossbar, as the ball bounced back off the ground and out. Juve were dominating as time went on, but Marchisio failed to get power on the finish after a wonderful take and volley on Vidal's ball over the top. Vucinic flashed a shot across the face of goal, whistling past the far post. Straight after the restart Pirlo's cross found Leonardo Bonucci to try to bundle it over the line with a combination of thigh and chest, but Abbiati somehow managed to keep the ball out from point-blank range. At the other end, a Cassano pass found Boateng at the back post for a low volleyed cross-shot that Gigi Buffon fingertipped round the far stick. Vucinic pounced on a poor Mark Van Bommel backpass to run into the box, but Thiago Silva got back and did just enough to put him off. Alessandro Nesta had been struggling with a knee problem for the entire second half and eventually requested a substitution, so Luca Antonini came in with Daniele Bonera moving to centre-back. Vidal flashed a dangerous daisy-cutter inches past the far post after Pirlo's dummy let the pass through. Vucinic went even closer, as his curler shaved a coat of paint off the same stick. Juventus finally took a deserved lead with just four minutes to go. Marchisio burst forward and had a double give-and-go with Vidal and Vucinic to enter the box, then Bonera's desperate attempt at an interception ricocheted in off his shin. Boateng then received a second yellow card for a bizarre foul, as he seemed to try to slap the ball off Chiellini's head and poked him in the face, requiring a bandage for a cut. Juve doubled their lead with another odd strike, as Marchisio hit a splendid volley from distance that squirmed between Abbiati's legs. Alessandro Matri made a gesture to toe-poke it, but did not appear to make contact, so it was a howler from the goalkeeper. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Juventus: Buffon; Lichtsteiner, Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini; Pirlo, Marchisio; Krasic (Giaccherini 54), Vidal (Pazienza 94), Pepe; Vucinic (Matri 88) Milan: Abbiati; Bonera, Nesta (Antonini 73), Thiago Silva, Zambrotta; Nocerino (Ambrosini 83), Van Bommel, Seedorf; Boateng; Ibrahimovic, Cassano (Emanuelson 61) Ref: Rizzoli Sent off: Boateng 88 (M)

Serie A Week 6 - 2/10/2011 (08:45 p.m.) 2 - 0 87′ Claudio Marchisio 90+2′ Claudio Marchisio Juventus Arena - Turin Referee: N. Rizzoli Attendance: 42000 Marchisio double earns Turin side late win as Boateng is dismissed for visitors After dominating long sections of the match, the hosts looked as though they would have to settle for a draw until the Italy international popped up with a dramatic late brace. Oct 2, 2011 Juventus continued their impressive start to their Serie A campaign on Sunday night by defeating last season's champions, AC Milan, 2-0 in Turin. The Bianconeri dominated the vast majority of the match without looking like breaking the deadlock. But, in the final three minutes, Claudio Marchisio popped up with two fortunate goals to secure the win and send his side back level with Udinese at the top of the table. Milan's misery was compounded in the 89th minute when Kevin-Prince Boateng was dismissed following a second yellow card for hitting Giorgio Chiellini with a flailing arm. The first half began at a frantic pace with Juventus firmly in the ascendancy as they drove at Milan almost from the first whistle, and while there would be no scoring in the first 45, the hosts looked far more likely to break the deadlock. Former Milan player Andrea Pirlo was the first to force Christian Abbiati in action when, in the 20th minute, he fired off a long-range effort which the goalkeeper gathered with relative ease. Seven minutes later, he again forced a save from the Rossoneri custodian with a free-kick, which although on target, was far too central, leaving Abbiati the simple task of punching to safety. The half continued in a similar vein with the likes of Marchisio and Mirko Vucinic peppering the Milan goal with shots from distance. And it was from one of these efforts that the Old Lady came closest to striking the first blow. In the 37th minute, Vucinic accepted a Pirlo pass on the edge of the Milan area and instantly looked to catch Abbiati out with a visionary chip. However, the Milan keeper appeared to get the merest of touches on the ball to push it onto the underside of the crossbar. The second period followed an almost identical pattern, particularly in the early stages as Abbiati contorted his body to flip the ball over the crossbar after Leonardo Bonucci bundled Pirlo's cross from the left towards goal. For their part, Milan began to have sporadic spells as an attacking force, and actually almost snatched an undeserved lead in the 51st minute when Boateng volleyed Antionio Cassano
