  6. FIGC President Giancarlo Abete Responds To Juventus Revoked Scudetti Request Juventus have been told they face a tense and long wait to discover if they can have revoked Scudetti back... Nov 25, 2010 Juventus face another anxious wait in relation to their request to have the Calciopoli-revoked Scudetti restored based on the on-going trial at the Tribunal of Naples. It's been 200 days since Juventus lodged an appeal with the FIGC to have them review the revoked Scudetti decision which was taken in 2006 following the original Calciopoli sports trial. Juventus believe they have a right to have those titles restored based on evidence which has emerged in Naples. But despite the FIGC's federal office opening an investigation, times of discovery will be long and anxious for Juve. "Our objective is to look at Juve's appeal in technical times compatible with good sense, and the autonomy of the federal office," Giancarlo Abete told Tuttosport. "I would like to remind people that the fedeal office open its activity once the wiretaps were legally accepted at the trial. "In any case, we cannot invade territory which is not within our competence," he added, in relation to the ongoing trial of Naples.
  7. Giorgio Chiellini Disappointed With 'Inappropriate Comments' About His Contract Extension With Juventus Juventus defender says his new contract is valid and deems the comments made by the AIC as inappropriate... Nov 24, 2010 Juventus star Giorgio Chiellini signed a new contract that ties him to the club until 2015 on Tuesday evening, but today the Italian Players' Association (AIC) questioned the validity of the deal. The defender has responded by suggesting the comments by AIC vice-president Leandro Grosso regarding his contract were inappropriate. "The renewal of my contract has generated a number of comments and news that I consider inappropriate," the player stated through his official website. "I will say I have personally always supported the players' association and my contract is one that takes into account the complexity of the relationship between clubs and players in Serie A. "It should not be read as a statement of position in relation to recent discussions of current sports policy. I hope that my contract will facilitate dialogue on the new collective bargaining agreement," he concluded.
  8. Validity Of Giorgio Chiellini's 2015 Juventus Extension Questioned By Players' Association The Italian Footballers' Association (AIC) have shed doubts on the validity of Giorgio Chiellini's new Juventus contract... Nov 24, 2010 Doubts over the legality of Giorgio Chiellini's 2015 contract extension, signed on Tuesday with Juventus, have been expressed by Leonardo Grosso. Grosso, the vice-president of the AIC (Italian Footballers Association), said on Wednesday that Chiellini's deal could be worth nothing. "The contract signed by Chiellini with Juventus may not be valid as far as we [the AIC] are concerned," he told the press. Grosso said the contracted could be in violation of a set of rules established by the high court of the CONI (Italy's Olympic Committee). "The opinion of the court is that the new contracts must refer to the old accord in relation to the collective bargaining agreement, expired in June and thus new deals could not follow pre-established schemes on one side, and so I think we are on the wrong side of the regulations." Grosso was at the FIGC headquarters in Rome where he met Giancarlo Abete, the FIGC's president, and Maurizio Berretta, head of the Lega Serie A. There is a current dispute between Lega and AIC over the collective contract agreements. Both associations are at odds over the way forward in relation to how players handle contracts, transfers and extensions between themselves and clubs. So far no agreement has been reached over a new deal, leading to the threat of strikes, despite Abete acting as a mediator and limiting discussion points to six. The meeting in Rome today is just one of many which focuses on cutting the strike action.
  9. Official: Juventus Extend Giorgio Chiellini's Contract Until 2015 Juventus have sealed Chiellini's long-term future... Nov 23, 2010 Juventus have extended Giorgio Chiellini's contract until 2015, the Italian giants announced on Tuesday. A statement on their official website reads: "Chiellini has renewed his contract at the headquarters in Corso Galileo Ferraris that binds him Juventus until June 30, 2015." The Italy international centre-back had been linked with a number of clubs in recent weeks but he has now expressed his relief at finally putting pen to paper on a long-term contract at Juve. "I am very pleased with this agreement, which binds me to Juventus for the next few years," enthused Chiellini. "This is my team, in which I take great satisfaction and want to win something important. "I thank the club for the confidence they have placed in me and for demonstrating the willingness to extend our relationship."
  10. 'Stronger Than Ever' Buffon Is Back At Juventus & Will Not Join Manchester United In Berbatov Swap - Agent Juventus goalkeeper will not be used as bait for Manchester United's Dimitar Berbatov... Nov 23, 2010 Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon continues to carry a freight of association with Manchester United, but that is where it ends, as he will not become the new supreme celebrity at Old Trafford, Goal.com can exclusively reveal. Buffon was linked with United as part of a swap deal for Dimitar Berbatov, with both La giornalaccio rosa dello Sport and Telegraph reporting a deal was on the horizon. But Goal.com can reveal such a move is not on the road to expansion during the January transfer window, and new trade links between United and Juventus will not be fuelled by Buffon. In fact, Buffon is back at Vinovo training to get back in the team following his long term injury absence. "No, it's not true, this story is not true at all. I don't know anything about this," Buffon's agent Silvano Martina told Goal.com. "What I do know is that today Buffon is training with Juventus at Vinovo, diving and training hard so he can come back stronger than ever. "Of the rest I know nothing. I have never been contacted by any club in England, it's the usual paper talk. "I really don't know anything. You get people writing these things, offers like this, offers like that, but none of it is true. "From what I know Manchester United have already bought a goalkeeper from Denmark. United also have Tomasz Kuszczak and other goalkeepers there. "And I also have a client there in Nemanja Vidic. I have an excellent relationship with the Manchester United board of directors and they have never contacted me about Buffon. "We have never had any talks. The Buffon - Berbatov swap is an invention from the papers."
  11. Gianluigi Buffon Inching Closer To Juventus Return Buffon will begin a personalised fitness programme on Tuesday as he nears his return to the Bianconeri... Nov 22, 2010 Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon is nearing a return to the first-team with the 32-year-old set to begin training on Tuesday, the club revealed on their official website. The Italy international injured his back in the first half of the Azzurri

  13. Inter Are Finished, But A New Calciopoli Could Make Them Win Again - Luciano Moggi Inter's downfall has been instigated by coach Rafael Benitez, claims Luciano Moggi... Nov 22, 2010 Inter have been reduced to smoking rubble, torched by Rafael Benitez who has destroyed an empire built by Jose Mourinho, and not even a new wave of Calciopoli will be enough to douse the flames, claims Luciano Moggi. "Inter are finished. Their credit, obtained from Calciopoli has ran out," Moggi told Gold TV. "And for sure [Massimo] Moratti caused it by replacing Mourinho with Benitez - the complete opposite. "The team has turned from being a warship to a weak mob. "To win again Moratti will probably need a new Calciopoli..." And with Inter charred, if not completely burnt, Juventus, Milan and Roma will feed off the scraps. "In Italy the team who has Zlatan Ibrahimovic always wins," Moggi added. "I wonder if Arrigo Sacchi still thinks Milan made an error by signing him. "As for Roma, they are out of the crisis and they have reaquired self-esteem. Now they can return to being great again. "Juventus? They deserved to beat Genoa and are doing well, but thinking about the Scudetto would be an illusion for the fans."
