Moggi Defends Juventus Against Mourinho Rant

Luciano Moggi has hit back at Mourinho's anti-Juve swipe...

Feb 19, 2010

Luciano Moggi defended Juventus from Jose Mourinho's verbal attack in which he accused the Old Lady of having a bigger penalty area so they could win more spot-kicks.

During his press conference, Mourinho made reference to the penalty Juventus were awarded last Sunday against Genoa after Alessandro Del Piero took a tumble.

"It's a fact that in Italy the penalty area is 25 metres long," said Inter coach Mourinho.

But Moggi wasted no time in responding. The Italian has said Mourinho has no reason to moan.

"I don't know why Mourinho is angry at Juventus because after all, look at all the favours he has enjoyed with Inter," :sventola: the Italian remarked to Forzaroma.info.

Juventus Supporters Call For Club's Directors To Quit

The supporters are continuing to call for the heads of the club's directors...

Mar 27, 2010

After losing their last three games in all competitions and with just four wins in their last 15 league games, Juventus fans have continued their protests against the club's hierarchy.

According to Italian news agency ANSA, a great quantity of leaflets calling for president Jean-Claude Blanc and his colleagues to leave the club were found outside the club's headquarters at Corso Galileo Ferraris, thrown there by fans in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The leaflets are reported to have read, "Disgrace - directors, go away" and "Never so low in 103 years of history."

Bianconeri fans have already set fire to part of the Stadio Olimpico this year in protests against former coach Ciro Ferrara, while another group called for Blanc and sporting director Alessio Secco to resign after the humbling defeat to Fulham in the Europa League.

Fans have also recently clashed with Felipe Melo and Jonathan Zebina as their season descends further into the mire.

John Elkann Confirms Andrea Agnelli

Will Be New Juventus President

Elkann has confirmed changes will be taking place...

Apr 29, 2010

John Elkann has activated the first wave of changes at Juventus, confirming Andrea Agnelli will become the new president.

It's the first time in 48 years that the club will be run by an Agnelli family member. The last was Umberto, Andrea's father.

"My cousin Andrea Agnelli will be the president of Juventus on a full-time basis, and this will allow Jean-Claude Blanc time to dedicate himself to managing the business," he told La Stampa.

Elkann is likely to rubber-stamp the move when he holds the annual meeting of Exor, Juventus' holding company, later today. He has also promised good investment.

"One thing I can guarantee the fans is that Juventus and all of its components will be strengthened with people of great calibre and experience."

And, to put the sweetners on the gloom, Elkann promised the club would make a formal request to the FIGC (Italian FA) to have Inter's 2005-06 title revoked.

"In the next few days we will ask the FA for the revocation of the 2005-06 Scudetto in accordance with what we have always believed. Rules are valid for all."

Elkann had given an indication of what to expect at the meeting in an interview he gave to La Stampa newspaper.

And he has now welcomed Agnelli, who will work alongside Jean-Claude Blanc as the club's new president.

New Juventus President Andrea Agnelli Promises Success

Agnelli is looking forward to rising up with Juventus...

May 19, 2010

Juventus president Andrea Agnelli is ready to amalgamate experience and hard work to fuse a winning formula at the club after the board of directors ratified his appointment as leader.

"The duty I have taken on board is testimony to the cohesion of our family, and the effort of this club," he told Juventus' official website.

Agnelli thus takes over from Jean-Claude Blanc. But, contrary to speculative reports, the Frenchman will stay on to help place the building blocks.

"The work we will carry out is very demanding. And for this, Jean-Claude Blanc, in harmony with the board, are already planning the future strategies for next season," added Agnelli.

The appointments of ex-Sampdoria pair Giuseppe Marotta, as sporting director, and Luigi Del Neri, as first tewm coach, are expected to be announced later.

The latest reports from Turin suggest both have already signed contracts at Vinovo.

"Marotta knows he has the resources to build a great Juventus. We won't discuss what, but they do have the resources to make this club a great one."

May 31, 2010

Juventus have annoucned the departure of director Roberto Bettega, through a note on their official website juventus.com.

John Elkann warns it will take time to turn Juventus around

Elkann says Juventus are working hard to build a successful future,

but warned fans not to expect overnight results.

Apr 28, 2011

John Elkann has warned it will take time to build a competitive Juventus, but promised support to help the club achieve their medium to long-term aims.

Speaking at the shareholders assembly, the Exor president said the club was working towards controlled and sustainable progression.

"There is in course a change which will take time at Juventus in order to have a young and competitive side," Elkann said, as reported by the Italian media.

"The prospectives are linked to a big event this year - the inauguration of the new stadium and the plans at which we are working towards for 2014."

His forecast was no decoy though as he moved to reassure fans that help would be provided.

"The next Juventus board meetings will decide the objectives, and if it is needed, Exor will provide support."

Jun 27, 2011

John Elkann, chairman and CEO of Exor, the company that owns Juventus, has voiced his belief that the Serie A side will soon become successful again.

The Turin side struggled in the 2010-11 campaign and only managed a seventh-placed finish in the league table, and also suffered a premature elimination from the Europa League at the group stage.

Blanc: New stadium will help us return to the top

The club's former general director is of the belief that the permanent replacement

for the Stadio delle Alpi means the club can compete on an even keel with the two Milan giants.

Aug 6, 2011

Juventus' special adviser Jean-Claude Blanc believes that the imminent move into the new Juventus Arena will enable the club to return to their former glories.

Blanc resigned as the club's chief executive officer in May but has special responsibilities pertaining to the opening and promotion of the new ground, which is built on the site of the old Stadio delle Alpi.

"I have a direct line to Uefa president Michel Platini and when I spoke to him, I realised that he was serious about Financial Fair Play," he told La Corriere dello Sport. "Our television rights are managed collectively and our marketing was fine but the new stadium will allow us to return to the highest level, not only in Italy but in Europe as well.

"The key word is planning. We bought the old Delle Alpi 10 years ago now and we focused on saving the club after Calciopoli. Despite Italy not getting to host Euro 2012, we did not give up on the project."

Blanc believes that Juventus will now finally have a stadium, which enables them to compete with their main rivals Inter and AC Milan, who share the Giuseppe Meazza.

"Inter and Milan are lucky enough to have a great stadium with a huge capacity but it is not a decisive factor in their turnover," he stated. "Our stadium is ready and will help us generate a lot of revenue even if it will take time."

Having shared the Turin's Olympic stadium for the past five years with Torino, Juventus will officially open the ground on 8 September, three days before their opening home match of the Serie A season against Parma.

Jean-Claude Blanc to join Paris Saint-Germain as general director

The 48-year-old will reportedly assume control over the French cash-rich club in October.

Sep 28, 2011

Former Juventus CEO Jean-Claude Blanc is poised to become the new general director of Paris Saint-Germain, Le Parisien reports.

The 48-year-old currently has no ties to any club following the opening of Juventus' new stadium, which was his only responsibility with the Serie A side after resigning as CEO in May.

Blanc is expected to be appointed as the new general director in mid-October, when PSG change their legal structure.

He will handle all administrative and financial matters of the club, replacing the current man in charge of those areas, Philippe Boindrieux, who will reportedly be relieved of his position.

The ex-Juventus official will work closely with Leonardo, who was named the club's sporting director in the summer.

Earlier in September, retired midfielder Claude Makelele was hired as a consultant to the club, who are joint-first with Lyon in the Ligue 1 standings.

Juve: 'Scudetto or Coppa? Both!'

Apr 4, 2012

Juventus patron John Elkann does not see why they should choose between targets this season. “Scudetto or Coppa Italia? Both!”

The Bianconeri have not won silverware since Calciopoli, but are currently two points behind Serie A leaders Milan and in the Final of the cup against Napoli.

“The team is playing well in both the League and the Cup competition, but as Antonio Conte says, it’s certainly not the time to lose concentration.

“Scudetto or Coppa Italia? Both! Conte said we should have 24 lions playing the final eight games of the Serie A season, but I’d say 24 lions who are playing as one single lion.”

Juve keep Liverpool off Paratici

May 19, 2012

There are reports Juventus have shot down Liverpool’s attempts to poach technical director Fabio Paratici.

The Sun suggested this week that they were looking at Paratici as a replacement for director of sport Damien Comolli.

According to the Italian media, there was some truth in this approach, but Juve slammed the door on any potential departure.

Paratici is the right-hand man of director general Beppe Marotta and contributed to constructing the Scudetto-winning side.

His contract ties him to the Turin giants until June 2013.

Elkann: 'Juve not worried'

May 29, 2012

John Elkann is confident there is “no shadow over Juventus” after Antonio Conte’s house was searched in the betting scandal.

Police staged dawn raids to conduct searches and present notices of investigation on Monday morning, including Coach Conte due to his time at Siena last season and Juve defender Leonardo Bonucci.

“There is no shadow over Juventus or this Scudetto,” club patron Elkann told La giornalaccio rosa dello Sport.

“It was a tournament won on the field and it seems entirely clear that the issues of the last few days have nothing to do with Juventus.

“Today there is insufficient evidence to make any conclusions. This issue, as the sporting authorities confirmed, does not touch Juventus and now we’ll see how these investigations progress.”

There is the risk Conte could be suspended, leaving the Bianconeri without a Coach for next season.

“President Andrea Agnelli has said everything that needs to be said and was very clear. I haven’t spoken to Conte yet, but I know his state of mind and that is of someone thinking about the future and the many games to prepare.”
