Miralem Pjanic Transfer Rumours: Latest News

and Speculation on Roma Midfielder

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2644969-miralem-pjanic-transfer

-rumours-latest-news-and-speculation-on-roma-midfielder?

Jun 8, 2016

Juventus, Chelsea and Manchester United target Miralem Pjanic could reportedly be available this summer for less than his €38 million (£29.7 million) release clause, after Roma decided to relax their position on the midfielder.

Continue for updates.

Rudiger Injury Alters Roma Transfer Strategy

Wednesday, June 8

"Roma are now open to discussing a sale of Pjanic to Juventus that would not involve the €38 million clause," reported La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Football Italia).

"Apparently this is because the €38 million clause, if activated, would see a full 15 per cent (€5.7 million, £4.5 million) of the payment go directly to Pjanic himself, and not to the club," the report added.

Thus Roma are reportedly happy to negotiate a deal around the €30 million (£23.4 million) mark, which would not involve them losing out on a large chunk of the fee.

Furthermore, the recent injury to defender Antonio Rudiger—which has ruled him out of action for Germany at Euro 2016—has forced Roma to change their summer transfer plans, as they were previously planning to sell the highly rated centre-back to raise funds.

Now, Pjanic is seen as the key man for Roma if they are to bring in some cash, and along with Juve, Antonio Conte's Chelsea and Jose Mourinho's United have also been touted as suitors for the 26-year-old central midfielder, per Mundo Deportivo (via Metro's George Bellshaw).

Pjanic is a top-class player who is able to sit deep in the middle of the park or play in a more advanced role and contribute goals and assists aplenty.

He netted 10 Serie A goals for Roma last term and provided 12 assists, both of which were career-best marks for the Bosnian in a league season, per WhoScored.com.

Given his quality, it is unsurprising there are so many high-profile suitors out there, and now that he is reportedly available for less than £25 million, there is likely to be an intense battle for his signature.

His quality on the ball, passing range, goalscoring ability and set-piece threat make him a very attractive target, and he would be a fine addition to even the best sides in the world.

Juve look as though they are leading the race, and his familiarity with Serie A would likely make him an immediate hit at the Old Lady.

But Chelsea and United will surely put up a fight as they are both looking to rebuild, and Pjanic could be a major asset in that endeavour.

Juve-Roma talks for Pjanic?

http://www.football-italia.net/85571/juve-roma-talks-pjanic?

Jun 8, 2016

Mediaset Premium report Juventus director Beppe Marotta visited Roma directors today to discuss Miralem Pjanic.

There have been multiple reports that the Bianconeri are ready for a summer swoop, perhaps not even needing to pay the €38m release clause.

According to reports this evening on Sport Mediaset, Juve director Marotta was in Rome today for talks with the Giallorossi chiefs.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claimed today that the clause will see the player himself receive 15 per cent of the fee if activated.

Therefore, it is in Roma’s interests to negotiate a sale with Juventus instead.

Juventus €32m Pjanic deal?

http://www.football-italia.net/85576/juventus-€32m-pjanic-deal

Jun 8, 2016

Juventus are close to agreeing terms with Roma for Miralem Pjanic, €30m plus €2m bonuses, claim multiple sources.

Since La Gazzetta dello Sport broke the story that Pjanic will receive 15 per cent of any transfer fee if his €38m release clause is activated, there have been multiple reports of advanced negotiations between the clubs.

This evening Mediaset Premium, Il Messaggero and the Corriere dello Sport maintain they have reached an agreement for €30m plus another €2m in performance-related bonuses.

Considering the Bosnia international is only 25 years old and has been consistently one of the best midfielders in Serie A, it is something of a bargain.

Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Chelsea have also been linked with Pjanic.

The player also returned to Rome for negotiations after a vacation in Ibiza.

There could well be a knock-on effect too, as if Roma sell Pjanic, then Chelsea target Radja Nainggolan will not be allowed to leave.

The Giallorossi were forced into a corner by Antonio Rudiger's anterior cruciate ligament injury, as it means they cannot sell him for €30m.

Reports: Juventus, Roma in serious talks regarding Miralem Pjanic signing

http://www.blackwhitereadallover.com/2016/6/8/11889758/juventus-

roma-miralem-pjanic-2016-serie-a-summer-transfer-rumors

Jun 8, 2016

Two days after reports regarding Juventus' confidence when it comes to a potential Miralem Pjanic signing came out, the next logical step has happened, according to reports out of Italy on Wednesday.

Depending on what Italian media outlet you click on, Juventus and Roma are at a variety of different stages in negotiations for the 26-year-old midfielder. Juventus and Roma are either discussing the deal, seriously discussing the deal or potential close to agreeing to a deal that would see Pjanic trade in giallorosso for bianconero.

The main theme throughout these various reports from our friends in the Italian media: Juventus' attempt to sign Pjanic isn't slowing down — at all. In fact, depending on who says it, things are looking more than just a little positive right now.

So, in short, said reports including the following information:

  • Pjanic traveled back to Italy to negotiate any potential deal.
  • Beppe Marotta has made his way to Rome to try and close the deal.
  • Juventus' price could be as low as €32 million — which, if that's the case, would be an absolute steal considering his buyout clause is for another €6 million.

All of this, of course, is just conjecture at this point until we hear some kind of concrete information from either club. The "OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL" rule still applies — especially for a big-name, big-money transfer like this one could be. But it's hard not to get all jazzed up over the potential of adding somebody of Pjanic's quality to a midfield that already includes Paul Pogba, Sami Khedira and (when he returns from injury) Claudio Marchisio.

Let's go ahead and see what our Roma fan friends have to think about it...

Sell him to Barca, move him to Munich, I don't care, but for the love of god please don't be so stupid as to hand him over to Juventus.

Oh my. Oh. My. (Hand him over to Juventus, though. I'm cool with that.)

Multiple reports: Pjanic to Juventus

http://www.football-italia.net/85579/multiple-reports-pjanic-juventus?

Jun 8, 2016

Multiple reports claim Juventus will buy Miralem Pjanic for €38m, though only €30.4m goes to Roma, after agreeing a five-year contract.

The midfielder has a release clause in his contract with Roma allowing him to walk away if someone pays €38m.

However, it emerged that if the clause is activated, then somewhere between 15 and 20 per cent of that transfer fee will go to the player.

That means Roma will only get €30.4m from the sale of one of their star players, calculate Sky Sport Italia.

It is also reported that today Juventus directors Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici were in Rome for talks with Pjanic, agreeing personal terms for a five-year contract worth €4.5m per season plus bonuses.

Pjanic was going to favour overseas options so as not to strengthen Roma's rivals, but Juve were the only ones genuinely prepared to pay the release clause.

At the same time, losing Pjanic suggests Roma will not give in to Chelsea courtship of Radja Nainggolan for less than the €45m asking price.

So far Antonio Conte’s Chelsea have offered €35m.

According to Mediaset Premium, it was Roma who pushed to speed up the Pjanic negotiations with Juventus after Antonio Rudiger's injury.

They had been ready to sell Rudiger to Chelsea for €30m, but as he is out for six months with a torn ACL, the club had to get cash elsewhere.

Pjanic had this clause in his contract, so Roma preferred to focus on keeping players they have more control over.

Reports: Juventus agree €32 million

deal to sign Miralem Pjanic

http://www.blackwhitereadallover.com/2016/6/8/11889964/

miralem-pjanic-juventus-roma-2016-serie-a-transfers

Jun 8, 2016

Just like when with the Dani Alves signing developments, things are happening fast.

Just a few short moments after we thought all Juventus and Roma were doing was sitting around and talking about a potential Miralem Pjanic, things have escalated in a hurry. Just about everybody and their mom in the Italian media is reporting that Juventus and Roma have struck a deal that will make Pjanic a Juve player. No jokes here, people. The deal is reportedly in place and there's nothing any of us can do about it now.

(Well, besides celebrate and toast a cocktail or two toward Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici, of course.)

Here are details from one of those reporting the deal being done, Sky Sport's Gianluca Di Marzio:

Today, an agreement was reached between Juventus and Roma for Miralem Pjanic. The 1990-born midfielder apparently met with Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici. Meanwhile, discussions with Roma over the details of a 30.4 million euro payment due to secure Pjanic's release. Juventus could recoup some of that money with the sale of Roberto Pereyra, who is liked by Watford and has others in England who rate him highly. Pereyra's price tag is 13 million euro, which would represent about 50% of Pjanic's release. The deal overall is work 38 million euro, with 7.6 million euro belonging to the player per his contract with Roma: the 20 percent for Pjanic will be inserted in the 5 year deal he is set to sign with Juventus.

(Source: Gianluca Di Marzio)

Wow. I mean, seriously, I had hopes for this, but not weeks before the transfer window actually, you know, opens up.

But it's clear now that all of this talk about André Gomes being Juventus' No. 1 transfer target was either a total load of crap or just a way for Juve to keep the attention off their pursuit of the 26-year-old Pjanic, who led Serie A in assists last season along with Paul Pogba. Juventus has swooped in, reportedly gotten their man, and now we just have to sit back and hope nothing stupid happens before the official announcement is made and an "OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL" post goes up on this here website.

The price ends up being the same €38 million that we've been hearing about for weeks. But the breakdown, one that is quite unique given the circumstances, is detailed above — €32 million going to Roma, the rest going to Pjanic himself.

All in all, not a bad little Wednesday. Miralem Pjanic a Juventus player might actually be close to happening. What a day, man, what a day.

Juventus close in on €30 million Pjanic deal

While the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United have been linked with the Bosnia

international, Juve appear to have the upper hand after offering a tempting bait to Roma.

http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892/transfer-zone/2016/06/08/24426442/-?

Jun 8, 2016

Juventus have emerged as the front-runner to sign Roma star Miralem Pjanic, with the Turin side ready to part with €30 million for the highly rated midfielder.

Goal understands that the Juve authorities have given the green light to the arrival of the Bosnia-Herzegovina international, whom Massimiliano Allegri sees as a key part of his plans for the coming season.

Pjanic has been linked with top clubs across Europe, with Manchester United and Chelsea among those reportedly interested.

But a Juventus bid of more than €30m including bonuses and other payments would put them in the driving seat.

The player, meanwhile, will be offered a bumper contract worth €4.7m a season plus bonuses until 2021 to seal the deal.

Juventus: Pjanic, Berardi, Gomes

http://www.football-italia.net/85586/juventus-pjanic-berardi-gomes

Jun 9, 2016

Juventus will reinvest the cash from Paul Pogba's sale into the signings of Sassuolo's Domenico Berardi, Roma's Miralem Pjanic, Valencia's Andre Gomes and one striker.

The sale of the French midfielder remains relatively uncertain, but the Bianconeri are planning for a team fit to compete in the Champions League even in his absence.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pogba's departure would kick off a number of important market operations, the first of which would be the €25m signing of Sassuolo's Berardi.

The Neroverde striker is believed to already have a deal with the Bianconeri and his purchase should be guaranteed, regardless of what happens with Pogba.

The Old Lady would then look to restructure the midfield by replacing the French 23-year-old with Pjanic and Gomes.

The Roma player appears increasingly likely to head to Turin, as the Gazzetta, the Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport all confirm that the deal is imminent.

The Bianconeri's sporting director Beppe Marotta was in Rome yesterday, officially for a summit of the technical staff, but the presence in the city of Pjanic and his agent suggests there may have been a meeting between the two.

The sale of Pogba would also unlock a sufficient amount of capital for Juventus to try and buy Andres Gomes, whom Valencia price at €50-60m.

Finally, the Italians would look for a star striker. Paris Saint-Germain's Edinson Cavani remains at the top of the pecking order, but he costs €45m and his purchase might depend on the fate of Alvaro Morata, who could still remain or be sold. The alternatives are confirmed to be Liverpool's Christian Benteke, Everton's Romelu Lukaku and Olympique Marseille's Michy Batshuayi.

Pallotta silent on Pjanic

http://www.football-italia.net/85596/pallotta-silent-pjanic

Jun 9, 2016

Roma President James Pallotta ignored questions on Miralem Pjanic and seemed rather bothered by the Press.

The American magnate is in Rome, where he is holding a number of meetings with the club's figureheads as well as with the city's institutions.

After settling the matter of Francesco Totti's new contract and refining the question of the Giallorossi's new stadium, Pallotta went in for a meeting today with director general Mauro Baldissoni and Carlo Feliziani, who is responsible for match-ticket sales.

Pallotta was once again met by a number of journalists, but while in the past he released a few statements, this time he looked rather angry and did not speak to the Press, according to PagineRomaniste.

He answered no questions on today's hot topic, the prospected sale of Pjanic to rivals Juventus.

Pjanic to Juve official next week?

http://www.football-italia.net/85613/pjanic-juve-official-next-week

Jun 9, 2016

It’s reported Miralem Pjanic’s move from Roma to Juventus will not be made official until next week.

The Bosnian’s move to Turin appears to be a done deal, with numerous sources reporting that the Bianconeri have secured the playmaker.

Now La Repubblica is reporting that for bureaucratic reasons, the transfer will not be made official until next week.

The paperwork for the transfer will be signed over the weekend, with the deal then being officially announced a few days later.

It’s thought the Old Lady have activated Pjanic’s buyout clause, but only around €31m will go to the Lupi, as the player and his entourage get a cut of between 15 and 20 per cent.

‘Juventus have Pjanic’

http://www.football-italia.net/85644/‘juventus-have-pjanic’

Jun 10, 2016

Miralem Pjanic’s PR manager confirms the Roma midfielder will join Juventus - “they activated the clause”.

Rumours began spreading earlier this week that the Bianconeri had agreed a deal for the Bosnian international, with the move expected to be made official next week.

Now, speaking to a Bosnian website, the player’s PR representative has confirmed the move.

“Juventus have activated the €38m clause and we expect to finalise the transfer very soon,” Adis Junuzovic told N1.

“There were a lot of clubs interested in him, PSG [Paris Saint-Germain], Chelsea, Barcelona… Juventus were the fastest and most concrete.

“The signing of the contract? That should happen within the next week, and then there’s the official presentation.”

Pjanic: 'No Juventus announcement'

http://www.football-italia.net/85666/pjanic-no-juventus-announcement?

Jun 10, 2016

Miralem Pjanic warns the ‘PR manager’ who said he’s joining Juventus “has no right to speak for me. If something is to be announced, it’ll be by the Roma President.”

Today Bosnian media quoted Adis Junuzovic as claiming Juventus had decided to activate the release clause, so a transfer was imminent.

“This is a person I do know, but who has no right to speak for me. Maybe he was just looking for his five minutes of fame,” Pjanic told news agency ANSA.

“Only my lawyer Michael Becker can permit himself to express an opinion in my name about the contract situation. Anyone else who does so is a liar.

“If something is to be announced about this matter, it will be done by the Roma President.”

Roma: 'Pjanic asked for Juventus'

http://www.football-italia.net/85684/roma-pjanic-asked-juventus

Jun 11, 2016

Roma director Mauro Baldissoni confirms Miralem Pjanic “has asked to activate his release clause” to join Juventus.

The latest controversy was the front page of the Corriere dello Sport Rome edition, publishing an alleged Whatsapp conversation Pjanic had with a friend telling him it was Roma who approached Juventus for the sale and ‘they sold me in 15 minutes.’

“When the limits of professional behaviour are breached, we have to intervene,” Baldissoni told Roma Radio.

“We read more rubbish on the Pjanic situation. Today we read supposed private conversations he confided in a friend, which the player has denied.

“I spoke to the lad this morning and he said he never wrote anything of the sort. I told him to defend himself and be careful, but above all we need to change the way things work in this city.”

However, Baldissoni’s comments effectively confirmed the Bosnia international will leave for Juventus, so the club is only denying that Roma made the first move.

“It’s ridiculous that we have to come here and read out official contracts and documentation to deny things that are not true.

“There are certain contractual agreements, that is true, and it’s legitimate that someone can be part of a negotiation process, as that is ordinary activity for a football club.”

The director general then read out a formal statement from Pjanic, dated June 9, confirming he intends to activate the release clause.

“Dear AS Roma SpA, for the attention of General Manager Mauro Baldissoni,

“I herewith wish to inform you of my intention to exercise my right to be transferred to another club, as per our previous agreements.

“I also wish to inform you that I will settle the 20% of the transfer fee that is due to me directly with the club purchasing my contract, which I can inform you is Juventus Football Club. I thank you and ask you to make contact in order to complete the necessary contractual formalities.

“Yours sincerely, Miralem Pjanic.”

Baldissoni then resumed the interview to explain Roma had no choice in the matter.

“What we cannot stand for is banners insulting players or staff members outside the training ground, abuse via social media, claims President Jim Pallotta lied to the fans.

“It is not normal that we have to come here with documentation to prove what we have said. The media is poisoning the Roma fans and we are here to defend them.

“Stories have to be verified by the media and then published, otherwise they are just baseless rumours.”

Roma confirm that Miralem Pjanic

will be signing with Juventus

roma-confirm-that-miralem-pjanic-will-be-signing-with-juventus

Jun 11, 2016

The necessary steps are becoming fewer and fewer, people. The reports said Miralem Pjanic is going to become a Juventus player, and in a rather odd yet important press conference, Roma has told us exactly what we wanted to hear.

Pjanic is going to be a Juventus player soon enough.

It's not official yet, but it's about one post on the Juventus website — and this website as well because we're cool like that — from being just that.

As we heard from Roma director Mauro Baldissoni, Pjanic has asked to activate his release clause. Put two and two together and that avalanche of reporting that we heard about regarding Pjanic's future is all but true — the 26-year-old midfielder, one of the best passers in world football today, will be heading to one of Roma's biggest rivals in Juventus.

Here is what Baldissoni read from a formal statement penned by Pjanic himself:

"With this note I inform you that I intend to activate my right to be transferred to another club, as agreed beforehand. I also tell you my intention to send the 20 per cent of my share of the transfer fee directly to the club that will buy my contract, which I specifically inform you is Juventus. I thank you and urge you to make contact to finalise the necessary contractual formalities."

(Source: Football Italia)

You want formal confirmation that this Pjanic-to-Juventus move is going to happen, there you go.

There is no clearer sign that this big-time move on Juventus' behalf is going to be happening than Pjanic himself saying it through a statement that a Roma director read at a press conference. And there is no clearer sign that Pjanic wants this move to happen simply by what he said in the statement above.

We're still obviously waiting on the official announcement to take place so that we can hear the financials of it all. Some say Juventus will pay €30. 4 million, others say they will fork over €32 million. It's not a huge difference in the grand scheme of things, but it's still a difference of about a million and a half. (IT AIN'T MY MONEY, THOUGH, MAN.)

But that official announcement will come soon enough. Why do I say that? Well, it's simple: Because Miralem Pjanic is going to be a Juventus player. And I like typing that sentence, so I may do it again.

Miralem Pjanic is going to be a Juventus player. Cool, very cool.

Marotta: 'Pjanic pushed for Juve'

http://www.football-italia.net/85687/marotta-pjanic-pushed-juve

Jun 11, 2016

Juventus director Beppe Marotta confirmed Miralem Pjanic “strongly wanted” this transfer by activating the Roma clause.

This morning Giallorossi director general Mauro Baldissoni announced on Roma Radio that Pjanic had formally requested a transfer to Juve on June 9.

“The Pjanic operation was concluded with the push of the player, who strongly wanted the transfer to Juventus by activating the release clause he had already stipulated with Roma,” Marotta told Tuttosport and La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Pjanic himself facilitated the operation by deciding to forego the percentage of that sum he would’ve been due.”

The release clause is worth €38m, but Pjanic has opted not to take the 20 per cent of the fee he was legally owed.

“It was therefore not a negotiation between Roma and Juventus directors, but merely technical meetings to define the transfer via the release clause payment.

“The player will undergo a medical with us shortly.”

Pjanic set for Juventus medical

http://www.football-italia.net/85721/pjanic-set-juventus-medical

Jun 11, 2016

Miralem Pjanic is expected to undergo his Juventus medical on Monday or Tuesday after Roma confirmed the transfer.

This morning Roma director Mauro Baldissoni went on Roma Radio and read out the legal letter Pjanic sent, formally requesting a transfer to Juve by activating his release clause.

Bianconeri chief Beppe Marotta also then confirmed the deal was done.

Now Sky Sport Italia are reporting the Bosnia international will undergo his medical in Turin on Monday or Tuesday at the latest.

He has already agreed personal terms with the club.

The release clause is worth €38m, but Pjanic is due 20 per cent of that fee.

However, in the note he confirmed that he’ll forego that sum and let Juve keep it.

Report: Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic to undergo Juventus medical on Monday or Tuesday

http://www.blackwhitereadallover.com/2016/6/12/11910582/miralem-pjanic

-juventus-roma-2016-serie-a-summer-transfer-rumors

Jun 12, 2016

With both Juventus and Roma confirming that midfielder Miralem Pjanic will be signing with the five-time Serie A champions, the amount of steps left to finalize the deal can probably be counted on one hand at this point.

We know the buyout clause will be activated. We know Pjanic is going to be a Juventus player sooner rather than later. Both of these things are true, and there's nothing that either the rest of Serie A or Europe can do about it.

The only remaining question is when, exactly, we will see Pjanic holding up his new Juventus jersey and answering question from the press after officially signing his €38 million deal to come to Turin.

According to Sky Sport Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio, Pjanic's move is just a couple of days away. The 26-year-old Bosnian midfielder is reportedly set to undergo his medical at Juventus at the beginning of the new work week on Monday or Tuesday, with his transfer to the club announced shortly thereafter. Then, it's official, and Juve's midfield will have added a massive jewel to an already incredibly strong group.

While other rumored deals for Barcelona defender Dani Alves and Sassuolo playmaker Domenico Berardi are either still working out the final details or currently on the back burner with the Pjanic deal under the microscope, Pjanic certainly does seem like the first of those deals that will become official. The reports certainly were a massive avalanche, seemingly moving just as fast as Juventus' pursuit of the player itself.

And just a few days after the reports said that Juventus and Roma agreed in principal to a deal that would bring Pjanic to Turin, the two clubs confirmed it was going down on Saturday. Pjanic requested a transfer, and now it's going to happen.

So all we have left is the medical and the official announcement. It's happening, folks.

Jun 13, 2016

Miralem Pjanic is officially in Turin for his medical exams ahead of a transfer from Roma to Juventus.

The midfielder announced his move to the Bianconeri quite suddenly last week, causing an enraged response in the capital.

His move was expected to be only a formality, and Juventus have now confirmed that his medical tests are ongoing.

“Miralem Pjanic is at the JMedical,” reads a statement on their official site. “The Bosnian midfielder, who reached Turin yesterday evening, is undergoing his medical exams at the new structure, inaugurated last March.”

Vucinic: 'Pjanic a champion'

Former Roma and Juventus striker Mirko Vucinic says 'champion' Miralem Pjanic's move doesn't surprise him.

The Giallorosso midfielder is currently undergoing his medicals in Turin, ahead of formalising his transfer to the Old Lady.

“Nothing can surprise me anymore about what happens in the world of football,” Vucinic told Tuttosport. “Juventus are strengthening themselves even more.

“Pjanic is an important player. We're talking about a champion, the type that is decisive, and he proved that with Roma.

“Leaving the Giallorossi wasn't easy for me, but in the end I did not regret my decision. I was very happy at Juventus and I won a lot.

“In Rome there is more pressure. But in the Juventus changing room you can immediately perceive a unique winning mentality.

“Even if you snatch a draw at the 90th minute coming from behind, you won't see anyone cheerful or smiling. Instead, everyone is angry, because the only thing that matters is victory.”

Some believe that Pjanic will be the best possible replacement for former Juventus playmaker Andrea Pirlo.

“Andrea is special, unique. Playing with him I really understood that. I've never seen another player capable of receiving the ball in their own box, and then walking out of it calmly with the ball still at their feet.”

Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic

Monday morning

Bye bye, giallorossi. Hello, bianconeri.

We know the steps needed to make Miralem Pjanic's move to Juventus was pretty much as low as it could get before the Roma midfielder is standing in front of the media and revealing what squad number he has taken.

As most of Italy got up and moving Monday morning, so did Pjanic himself.

As the clock struck 9 a.m. in Turin, Pjanic arrived at the same medical offices where some of his future teammates underwent their medical exams to go through the same procedures ahead of his move to Juventus. Cameras swarmed him, and understandably so. Juventus' newest midfielder is just a few minor details and a contract signing away from making his move from Rome to Turin as official as official gets.

We know this because we have photographic evidence.

I think a popular gif is in order now, don't you think?

it's happening

Yep, seems rather appropriate, if you ask me. Juventus has a world-class midfielder set to join the club — and relatively soon if everything, as expected, goes according to plan and Pjanic signs his contract shortly after his medicals go through.

We will soon know the details of the deal, which is expected to be a €32 million deal with Juventus activating Pjanic's buyout clause built into his contract with Roma. It's going to be the first official signing made by Beppe Marotta, Fabio Paratici and the rest of the Juventus management team. And with Brazil being eliminated from the Copa America on Sunday with its controversial loss to Peru, the Dani Alves signing may soon follow rather shortly.

But, for now, it's Pjanic time. It's almost officially official, folks. Seems like a pretty wonderful way to start the work week, isn't it?

Miralem Pjanic will see a different mentality in the Juventus dressing room when he joins from Roma, but will make them a better team, according to Mirko Vucinic.

Pjanic arrived in Turin for his medical on Monday ahead of a proposed move to the Serie A champions.

Vucinic swapped Roma for Juve in 2011 and stayed for three years, and he expects the Bosnia-Herzegovina midfielder to thrive.

"Nothing can surprise me anymore about what happens in the world of football," Vucinic toldTuttosport. "Juventus are strengthening themselves even more.

"Pjanic is an important player. We're talking about a champion, the type that is decisive, and he proved that with Roma.

"For me it was not easy to leave the Giallorossi, I thought about it for a long time. In Rome I enjoyed some great moments, but I have no regrets. I was very happy at Juventus and I won a lot.

"In Rome there is more pressure. But in the Juventus dressing room you can immediately feel a unique winning mentality.

"Even if you snatch a draw at the 90th minute coming from behind, you won't see anyone cheerful or smiling. Instead, everyone is angry, because the only thing that matters is winning."

OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL: Juventus

Juventus has made their first signing of the summer, and what a signing it is.

Miralem Pjanic is officially a Juventus player, ladies and gentlemen. Juve's already very good midfield — even without the long-term injury to Claudio Marchisio — is getting a whole lot better with one single move. Pjanic has put pen to paper on his big-money move to Juve, with a five-year contract worth a reported €4.5 million coming along with him in toe. The final total of the move will see Juventus pay the total of Pjanic's buyout clause, with €32 million of that going to Roma.

Here's the official word from Juventus' website:

Turin, 13 June 2016 - Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that the agreement with A.S. Roma S.p.A. for the definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the player Miralem Pjanic has been finalized. The consideration for the acquisition is € 32 million.

This acquisition will generate economic and financial effects starting from 2016/2017 sportive season.

Juventus and the player have signed a 5-year contract of employment.

It's beautiful, isn't it?

Juventus saw the opportunity to vastly improve its midfield, and then totally swooped in to get the job done in quick order. And a lot in the same kind of fashion when they got their big signing in the form of Paulo Dybala done and out of the way early and weeks before the transfer window technically opened, they've gone and done the same with Pjanic.

Let's just go ahead and see what Pjanic did in 33 Serie A appearances last season, okay?

10 goals, 12 assists, 85 percent pass completion, 1.4 tackles per game

Yep, that sounds pretty good. And this is the second time in as many summers that Juventus has signed a player who had double-digits in both goals and assists the season before. But, this time, it isn't a striker signing like was the case with Dybala a summer ago. Pjanic does his goal-scoring damage a variety of different ways — free kicks, runs forward into the 18-yard box, rockets from outside the box. Then there's his passing, which is about as pinpoint and impressive as you can get for a player who can anchor the center of the midfield.

All of this is now Juventus' to take full advantage of as they look to win a sixth straight Serie A title and do major damage in the Champions League next season. What a time to be alive.

Jun 13, 2016

Juventus have officially signed Miralem Pjanic from Roma, as confirmed by the club in a statement.

The 26-year-old midfielder's transfer will certainly go down as one of the biggest moves in Serie A this summer, whilst the player suddenly turned into public enemy number one in the capital.

After completing his medicals today, Pjanic signed his contract to officially become a Juventus player, with Gazzetta dello Sport reporting a five-year deal worth €4.5m per season.

“Juventus FC have reached an agreement to sign the player Miralem Pjanic from AS Roma", a statement on the Old Lady's official website confirmed.

Pjanic joined the Giallorossi from Lyon in 2011, and scored 30 goals in 185 appearances for the capital club.

However, when signing a new contract in 2014, a €38m release clause was included, and the Bianconeri activated it before taking him to Turin.
