Motta pondering lineup changes ahead of Juventus vs Parma After registering a 4-4 draw in a historic edition of the Derby d’Italia, Juventus will hardly have time to catch their break, as their next Serie A encounter against Parma is just around the corner. The Bianconeri will host the newly-promoted side at the Allianz Stadium in Turin this Wednesday. After expanding so much energy in the back-and-forth showdown at San Siro, Thiago Motta will be looking to rotate his starting lineup for the midweek contest, even though the injury crisis is leaving him with limited options. After all, the likes of Teun Koopmeiners, Douglas Luiz and Nico Gonzalez are unlikely to recover in time for the next one. ............ Motta could start by giving the nod to Mattia Perin following his heroics against Stuttgart last Tuesday. ............ Nicolo Savona and Federico Gatti will get the nod at the back from the start after earning cameos at San Siro. The latter will likely start given Danilo’s recent woes at the back. In the middle of the park, Khephren Thuram should return to the starting formation, albeit it remains to be seen who would make way between Manuel Locatelli, Weston McKennie and Nicolo Fagioli. Last but not least, Kenan Yildiz will certainly reclaim his starting berth following his exceptional cameo on Sunday. ............ . Preview: Juventus vs. Parma - prediction, team news, lineups After rescuing one point from a dramatic Derby d'Italia last weekend, Juventus will seek all three on Wednesday, when they welcome Parma to Turin. ............ Match preview After trailing, then leading, then going in 3-2 down at half time, Juventus produced a remarkable comeback to draw 4-4 with reigning champions Inter on Sunday evening, as Italy's most prestigious Calcio contest produced a stone-cold classic. Shortly after the break, Juve fell two goals behind, before surviving several scares, but Turkish teenager Kenan Yildiz emerged from the bench and scored twice to turn the game on its head at San Siro. Incredibly, the four goals they conceded were as many as throughout all of their previous 10 league matches dating back to the end of last season - and Henrikh Mkhitaryan's first-half strike is the only one from open play so far this term. ............ Just one point behind Inter in the race to haul back early front-runners Napoli, Motta's men are still well-placed to contend for the title, and they can aid that quest with a midweek win. As Juve have scored in every top-flight home game against Parma to date - across 26 previous meetings, at an average of 2.5 goals per game - history suggests they should prevail on Wednesday evening. Such has been the Bianconeri's dominance, Parma have won only one of their last 14 league matches against Juventus, losing 10 times in the process. On this occasion, the Gialloblu will arrive at the Allianz Stadium having taken just four points from seven games since upsetting AC Milan back in August. ............ Team News Rarely reliant on the same starting XI from game to game, Thiago Motta is set to tinker with his team on Wednesday, ahead of a weekend trip to Udine. Having pressed his claims for inclusion by making a massive impact on the Derby d'Italia, Kenan Yildiz could be recalled, as the 19-year-old forward seeks a first league goal at the Allianz Stadium - his four Serie A strikes so far have all come away from home. As well as long-term absentees Bremer and Arkadiusz Milik, summer signings Teun Koopmeiners and Nico Gonzalez may miss out again, while Douglas Luiz remains a slight doubt due to a thigh problem. While Dusan Vlahovic sets the standard for Juve in this season's Capocannoniere chart, Parma's last six goals have been scored by six different players. ............ Juventus possible starting lineup: Di Gregorio; Savona, Kalulu, Gatti, Cabal; Thuram, Locatelli; Conceicao, Yildiz, Weah; Vlahovic Parma possible starting lineup: Suzuki; Coulibaly, Del Prato, Balogh, Valeri; Sohm, Bernabe; Man, Hernani, Mihaila; Bonny We say: Juventus 2-0 Parma Expect normal service to resume for Juventus, whose superb defensive record was disregarded by Inter last time out, as Parma lack a major goal threat. At a venue where they generally hand over three points to their hosts, the visitors will not end their wait for a first away win of the season. . Juventus laying the groundwork to sign Brazilian defender in January Juventus have reportedly identified Leo Ortiz as the right profile to replace his compatriot Gleison Bremer in Thiago Motta’s defensive department. ............ Motta has been left with limited options at the back. Federico Gatti and Pierre Kalulu have been his main options, while club captain Danilo has been showing worrying signs of decline, especially in his last two outings against Stuttgart and Inter, gifting penalty kicks on both occasions. Therefore, Juventus are preparing to enter the market in January and bolster Motta’s defensive department with a new centre-back. Juventus have been working on this track over the past few weeks, laying the groundwork for the Brazilian’s possible arrival in January. The Bianconeri are thus looking to strike an agreement with Flamengo as well as the player’s entourage. This would be Ortiz’s first experience on the European scene. ............ . Juventus defence in crisis: From 1 Goal conceded with Bremer to 8 without him Juventus’ defensive prowess has taken a dramatic turn for the worse since the injury of key center-back Gleison Bremer. The team that once prided itself on a near-impenetrable defense, conceding just one goal in eight Serie A matches, now finds itself struggling to maintain its defensive solidity. Prior to Bremer’s injury in Leipzig, Juventus boasted the best defensive record among Europe’s top five leagues. ............ The statistics paint a stark picture of Bremer’s importance to the team. Before his injury, Juventus had conceded just one goal in seven matches. In the five games since his absence, they’ve allowed eight goals. Only in the match against Lazio did they manage to keep a clean sheet during this period. This defensive collapse is further emphasized by the number of shots Juventus are now allowing. In the Champions League match prior to the Inter game, they conceded 24 shots, a significant increase from their previous total of 21 across all matches. Against Inter, they allowed 18 shots, with goalkeeper Di Gregorio making two crucial saves. The team’s defensive record in Serie A has now slipped, with five goals conceded, putting them on par with Napoli. ............ . Motta’s Three game-changing maneuvers that rescued a point for Juventus against Inter On Sunday evening, Thiago Motta appeared to be facing his first Serie A defeat as a Juventus manager, but somehow managed to escape unscathed by roaring back to earn a 4-4 draw against Inter at San Siro. ............ Motta deserves the credit as his second-half maneuvers turned the tide in the Old Lady’s favor. The report mentions three ploys that worked almost to perfection. The first was replacing Timothy Weah with Yildiz. While the introduction of the Turkish youngster was a no-brainer at that point, taking off the American raised some eyebrows. ............ The second maneuver was the introduction of Nicola Savona which left many perplexed ............ Nevertheless, Savona’s entry freed up Andrea Cambiaso who got the license to roam forward. The latter played an instrumental part in the last equalizer. Last but not least, Dusan Vlahovic’s exit was certainly a controversial decision with Juventus trailing in the score, but Samuel Mbangula’s entry meant that the Inter defenders no longer had fixed points to mark. ............ . Yildiz beaming: “Juventus believe in the Scudetto, proud to score against Inter Juventus teenager Kenan Yildiz emerged as the ultimate hero for the Bianconeri faithful in the thrilling 4-4 draw against Inter. While the young attacker has been a regular starter since the start of the season, Thiago Motta decided to drop him from the lineup for the Derby d’Italia, instead relying on Timothy Weah on the left flank. ............ “Is it better to start from the bench next time too? It wasn’t easy,” said the Juventus number 10 in his post-interview. “But I’m very happy and I thank my teammates and the coach. These goals make me happy. “I’m proud to have scored against Inter. After the first one, I didn’t stick my tongue out because I had to keep my feet on the ground. But after the equalizer, I celebrated as I always do. I hope to score more. ............ “We have to remain on the positive track. In football, everything can change quickly, but we played as a team and it eventually went well for us. We believe in the Scudetto, but the season is still long.” ............ . Read more -> https://www.juvefc.com/yildiz-beaming-juventus-believe-in-the-scudetto-proud-to-score-against-inter/

Italian newspaper player ratings for Juventus: Yildiz stars against Inter, Danilo flops Juventus teenager Kenan Yildiz was unanimously named as the Man of the Match following his marvelous cameo in the Derby d’Italia. ............ However, Yildiz emerged as the ultimate hero by scoring twice with his weaker foot to force a 4-4 draw, much to Inter’s dismay. Curiously, The 19-year-old hadn’t scored in Serie A this season prior to this contest, only netting a strike against PSV in the Champions League. ............ On the other hand, Danilo was the ultimate flop after another shaky display at the back – his second in a row after his disappointing showing against Stuttgart in the Champions League – giving away a spot-kick early in the match for a late challenge on Marcus Thuram. ............ Di Canio praises Motta’s tactical approach in Inter-Juventus thriller Paolo Di Canio, former Juventus and Lazio striker turned TV commentator, shared his insights on the thrilling 4-4 draw between Inter and Juventus from the Sky studios. He began by framing the result in context: “Half a defeat for Inter and half a victory for Juve? Given how things unfolded, yes. Normally, we would have been discussing the defensive disaster, with poor individual and unit choices. There was a real lack of quality at that level. But instead, the spectacle prevails.” ............ “On a tactical level, Motta got everything right because he switched McKennie with Locatelli and pushed Fagioli up, essentially turning him into a forward. This way, if they recover the ball, they have the technical ability to play a vertical pass to Vlahovic. And if the pressing line is breached, there are two reliable players in front of the defense who know how to do this job, while Fagioli often struggles in that role. Things were going well for them.” ............ “But I liked Juve’s character, desire, and DNA. They seem like a complete team, especially in terms of mentality.” ............ . Ciro Ferrara praises Juventus star for being difficult for Inter to stop Former Juventus player Ciro Ferrara has lavished praise on Kenan Yildiz, following the teenager’s game-changing performance in the dramatic 4-4 draw against Inter Milan. Despite starting the high-stakes match on the bench, Yildiz made a crucial impact after coming on, scoring twice late in the game to help the Bianconeri come back from a 4-2 deficit and rescue a vital point. ............ Yildiz, who had not yet scored in the league this season, was electric from the moment he stepped onto the pitch. His dynamic play and eye for goal created problems for the Inter defence, who struggled to cope with his pace and skill. The youngster’s brace not only salvaged a draw for Juventus but also solidified his reputation as a player capable of delivering in critical moments. Ferrara, watching as the action unfolded, was particularly impressed with Yildiz’s performance, describing him as a constant threat to defenders. The former Juventus defender commented: “Yildiz? He scored a brace, the boy had not yet scored in the championship. Yildiz is an annoying player and difficult to stop.” Ferrara’s choice of the word “annoying” highlights the youngster’s tenacity and persistence, qualities that make him a handful for opponents. ............ . Journalist praises Thiago Motta for his substitutions against Inter Milan Juventus delivered a thrilling 4-4 draw against Inter Milan, staging a remarkable comeback from two goals down to earn a point in a dramatic clash. This match came at a crucial time for the Bianconeri, who had just suffered their first competitive defeat of the season to Stuttgart earlier in the week. With several key players unavailable due to injuries, Juventus fans were looking for a strong response from their team, and they certainly got one. ............ Kenan Yildiz played a pivotal role in the comeback, coming on in the second half to make a significant impact on the game. His contributions helped inspire the Bianconeri’s resurgence, demonstrating why he is regarded as one of the club’s bright young talents. The decision to bring Yildiz on was one of several key substitutions made by Motta that altered the course of the match. Journalist Nicola Gallo praised Motta’s tactical acumen, especially his substitutions, which proved to be game-changing: “Juve is a very young team, they held the field and then took advantage of the drop in tension and probably physical condition of their opponents. Of course, Thiago Motta was also good because the substitutions changed the game, some seemed a bit strange but he was right.” ............ Motta’s tactical prowess and the team’s determination are positive signs that the Bianconeri are on the right path, even if there are still areas to improve as the season progresses. Del Piero admits Juventus stunned him with their comeback against Inter Milan Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero admitted that he didn’t expect Juve to come back after falling 4-2 behind Inter Milan in the Derby d’Italia. The Bianconeri showed courage from the start, responding quickly when Inter took the lead. However, when the Nerazzurri extended their advantage with two more goals, it seemed unlikely that Juve could stage a successful comeback. Defying the odds, Juventus fought back to level the score, thanks to the brilliance of Kenan Yildiz, whose introduction from the bench surprised some fans. ............ Speaking in the Sky Sports studio, Del Piero confessed that he doubted Juve’s ability to mount a comeback and even thought Inter might score again to make it 5-2: “Did I expect Juventus to come back? No. After the 4-2 Inter came up strong, they had more than one or two chances to make it 5-2, I think this must be Inter’s great regret. Di Gregorio was the hero, then some balls went just wide of the post. In a match that seemed like a boxing match, Juve had this flash. Yildiz? You need things like that, one on one and the ball thrown in. Conceicao was the best on the pitch in my opinion.” ............ Juventus 4 - Inter Milan 4: Initial reaction and random observations Just another relaxing Sunday in which your blood pressure never spiked even once. With his team trailing 4-2 and less than a half-hour to go in Sunday night’s Derby d’Italia at the San Siro, Juventus manager Thiago Motta brought on the biggest piece he had on the bench. It involved the young man who now calls the No. 10 jersey his own, with Kenan Yildiz coming on in the 62nd minute to somehow turn what was already a wild meeting of the two bitter rivals into an even crazier affair. And what did Juventus’ young star boy do? Only pull his team back in and be arguably the biggest reason why they were able to get a point out of their trip to Milan. Ten minutes after coming on, Yildiz did exactly as he talked about in an interview entering the week — score a goal against Inter at the San Siro. But he wasn’t done there. Yildiz only added to his night that involved becoming the youngest-ever player to score a brace in the Derby d’Italia with a game-tying strike — his second with his left foot, no less! — capping a one-man comeback to give Juventus a point in a 4-4 draw with Inter, one of the highest Derby d’Italia nights we will ever come across. ............ Even with Dusan Vlahovic and Timothy Weah finding the back of the net in some quality combination play from Weston McKennie and Francisco Conceição, respectively, Juventus still found themselves down. That’s because the defense was just a total mess. And that might be putting it lightly, too. ............ Thankfully — and I can’t stress that enough — Inter didn’t find a fifth goal. That allowed Juventus to actually level the scoreline once and for all. Yildiz goal to cut the deficit in half was just a fantastic solo effort, showing off both his ability to control the ball as well as how just the simple threat of him cutting inside like he does so often is always going to be in a defender’s head no matter what the young Turk actually ends up doing. His second goal was obviously just as equally as important even though it came in a much different kind of way. It was, almost somewhat ironic that Denzel Dumfries — the man who scored the goal to put Inter up 4-2 — didn’t close out Yildiz after a failed headed clearance and the rest was done. ............ RANDOM THOUGHTS AND OBSERVATIONS I like Kenan Yildiz a lot. Give him another contract extension! I also miss Gleison Bremer a lot. ............ Within a two-minute span right after Yildiz came on, Michele Di Gregorio made a couple of great saves — the second arguably his best in his short Juve career — to keep the score 4-2. In hindsight, those two saves look absolutely massive to keep the deficit where it was and then see Yildiz cut the score to 4-3 just a few minutes later to begin the late-game comeback. This kind of performance is not exactly going to support the case that Danilo should be playing more now that Bremer is out for the rest of the season. That was rough. ............ Watching Francisco Conceição dribble in those little pockets of space is so fun. He’s such an absolute menace in those situations. I also don’t know how Conceição, in the 90th minute, is just still buzzing around like a total wild child with endless energy. Good to see him playing a full 90, too. Bringing on Nicolo Savona at the same time in which Yildiz came on and pushing Andrea Cambiaso a little more forward rather than being pinned back with Federico Dimarco playing so high up the field certainly helped a little bit. ............ Thiago Motta on Juve’s thrilling 4-4 draw with Inter: “At 4-2, we stayed in the game” In one of the most anticipated matches of the season, Inter Milan and Juventus played out a 4-4 draw in the Derby d’Italia at San Siro. Following the eight-goal thriller, Juventus manager Thiago Motta shared his thoughts on the game. “We fell behind in the first half with two penalties. These were complicated situations, but we still managed to stay in the game,” Motta explained. “Inter deserved to score a fifth goal, but in the end we equalized and even deserved to take the lead.” ............ “Conceding four goals? We can improve on everything. Every match has a different story. Today we suffered a lot defensively, partly due to the technical quality of our opponents. We left too many chances.” Despite these challenges, he was pleased with his team’s attacking response. “But on the other hand, we went on the attack and created many dangers,” he noted. “It was an open game and a clean match.” ............ He praised his players for their resilience: “We managed to stay competitive even when facing adversity.” Read more -> https://www.footitalia.com/thiago-motta-on-juves-thrilling-4-4-draw-with-inter-at-4-2-we-stayed-in-the-game/

Juventus Player Ratings vs Inter: Conceicao and Yildiz Shine in Marvelous Derby d’Italia Juventus (4-2-3-1) Michele Di Gregorio – 6.5 Despite conceding four goals, the Italian goalkeeper can leave the pitch with his head held high. After all, none of the goals were his fault, and he then produced a couple of jaw-dropping saves to keep his side in the match while the scoreline was 4-2. Andrea Cambiaso – 6 The former Genoa man was often second best to his Italy teammate Federico Dimarco, but he still his moments, like playing a part in the last equalizer. Pierre Kalulu – 5.5 The Frenchman has been highly impressive since joining Juventus, but looked shaky at the back this time. ............ Danilo – 5 Another torrid evening for the Juventus captain who was too slow to react to the ball and ended up giving away a penalty kick. Struggled all night against Marcus Thuram’s superior pace. Juan Cabal – 6 ............ Weston McKennie – 6 ............ Manuel Locatelli – 6 The Euro 2020 winner didn’t make himself noticed when Juventus had the ball, but did his best to limit Barella’s danger. Kept a cool head when his team seemed lost on the pitch. Francisco Conceicao – 8 A majestic display from the Portuguese who created the second goal for Weah almost out of nothing, and also delivered the assist for the last equalizer. Prior to Yildiz’s introduction, he seemed to be Juve’s solitary source of inspiration. Nicolò Fagioli – 5 ............ Timothy Weah – 6.5 The former Lille man sneaked behind the Inter defenders to poach the second Juventus goal, and almost found the top corner with a long-range screamer. Nevertheless, he was one of the culprits on the opener, as he couldn’t hamper Benjamin Pavard’s run. Dusan Vlahovic – 6.5 The Serbian had only one chance to score, and although it wasn’t the neatest of finishes, he managed to find the back of the net on the half-volley. Worked hard for the cause before leaving his place for Mbangula. Substitutes Nicolò Savona – 6 ............ Kenan Yildiz – 8 The teenager showcased why he inherited the iconic Juventus Number 10 with a sensational cameo. Revived what seemed to be a lost cause by scoring twice with his weaker foot. Udinese name their asking price for rising hitman wanted at Juventus Juventus are already probing the marker in search of a new striker, and Lorenzo Lucca has recently emerged as one of the most prominent names on Cristiano Giuntoli’s shortlist. ............ Since arriving in Friuli, Lucca has been growing from strength to strength. He recently made his debut for the senior Italian national team, coming in as a substitute in the Azzurri’s 4-1 win over Israel in UEFA Nations League which ironically ensued in front of his home supporters at the Bluenergy Stadium. ............ Udinese wouldn’t want to lose their striker’s services in the middle of the season. Therefore, Juventus might have to wait until the summer to stand a chance to sign the Italy international. Moreover, the source reveals that the Zebrette have set their asking price at circa 20 million euros, although this figure could further rise if the attacker continues to deliver the goods in front of the goal. ............ Late Yildiz show rescues a point for Juventus against Inter Milan Kenan Yildiz came on as a second-half substitute and helped Juventus secure a point in a thrilling 4-4 draw against Inter Milan this evening. ............ The men in black and white fell behind early after conceding a penalty that Piotr Zielinski converted. Given Inter’s reputation as one of the country’s top sides, it was no surprise that they took the lead. However, Juventus responded just five minutes later through Dusan Vlahovic and then took the lead again seven minutes after that. It was a remarkable turnaround, especially considering they were playing away from home. Juve’s advantage, however, was short-lived. Inter rallied to score twice before halftime, taking a 3-2 lead into the break in a topsy-turvy first half that saw five goals. Inter extended their lead shortly after the interval, prompting Thiago Motta to make some changes. He introduced Yildiz, and the Turkish teenager made an immediate impact, scoring ten minutes after coming on to pull one back for Juventus. Yildiz continued his impressive performance by netting another goal to level the score at 4-4. From there, Juventus looked the more likely side to find a winner, with Yildiz posing a constant threat. ............
