The Bianconeri showed incredible resilience in Germany, overcoming significant challenges to secure a memorable victory. Entering the match with their unbeaten start to the season on the line, Juventus needed to prove they could handle the pressure. Despite facing a Leipzig side that matched their strong defensive record and boasted dangerous attackers, the Bianconeri were confident they could rise to the occasion. ............ After the fixture, he said: “I’m extremely happy, especially for the team. We played for almost 45 minutes with a man down. We’re becoming a real team. 4. Journalist heaps praise on impressive Juventus defender Pierre Kalulu has been one of Juventus’ standout performers this season, consistently exceeding expectations since joining the club. Despite not being a regular starter at AC Milan, which led to their willingness to let him go, Kalulu has thrived in Turin, and his success is now something Milan likely regrets. ............ Juventus is extremely pleased with Kalulu’s contributions and is expected to pursue a permanent transfer at the end of the season. Paolo Aghemo, a journalist who has closely followed Kalulu’s progress since his arrival in Turin, has also expressed his admiration for the player’s impressive form. ............ “Thiago Motta will have to manage the space for alternatives and in particular, there in the middle of the defence Pierre Kalulu is emerging as a true leader, who is a player that Cristiano Giuntoli has focused on , together with the coach in the summer market. So Kalulu is increasingly a fixed point for this Juventus. He was stratospheric in some recoveries right in Leipzig to maintain the advantage gained by Juventus”. ............ The Bianconeri had placed him on minimum wage during his suspension and patiently waited for his appeal, although the club was not optimistic about his chances of receiving a lighter sentence. ............ Upon his return, Pogba will once again be one of the club’s highest earners, and he will be eligible to compete for game time starting in March. 8. Season over for Juventus defender Bremer Juventus have been dealt a severe blow as their defensive stalwart Gleison Bremer is set for an extended period on the sidelines. The Brazilian center-back was forced to leave the field after just 5 minutes in the second Champions League match against RB Leipzig. Medical examinations conducted today have confirmed the worst fears: a rupture of the cruciate ligament and meniscus in his knee. The incident occurred in the 4th minute when Bremer challenged Openda as the Belgian striker was breaking towards Di Gregorio’s goal. The two players collided shoulder to shoulder, but in the process, the former Torino defender landed awkwardly, causing a serious distortion of his left knee. Bremer immediately fell to the ground in visible pain. Despite on-field medical assessments, a substitution was quickly required, with Federico Gatti replacing the injured Brazilian. This morning, Bremer arrived at JMedical on crutches with a prominent brace covering his entire leg. The diagnostic tests revealed a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Surgery is scheduled for the coming days, but typically, recovery times for such injuries range from 5 to 6 months, followed by additional months of rehabilitation. It’s highly likely that this injury will end Bremer’s season prematurely. ............ Read more -> https://www.footitalia.com/breaking-season-over-for-juventus-defender-bremer/
  9. Letexier could have ruined the game: Italian media blame referee despite Juventus’ win Italian sports papers blamed referee François Letexier on Thursday and giornalaccio rosa said the French official could have ‘ruined the game’ even if Juventus still managed to secure a 3-2 win in Leipzig. It was an eventful night at the Red Bull Arena last night. French referee Letexier ignored Juventus’ penalty kick appeals in the first half and needed VAR checks to give Michele Di Gregorio a straight red and Leipzig a penalty only five minutes later. ............ Leipzig’s penalty kick was “debatable” because Douglas Luiz tried to protect his face. However, VAR “suddenly woke up” and urged Letexier to the pitchside monitor. Letexier should have done the same to check the Vlahovic penalty incident in the first half but didn’t do so in a “mix of distraction, hasty and arrogance.” The Bianconeri were like an “anti-theft team” in Leipzig and managed to win the game “despite the referee.” ............ 11. Thiago Motta: ‘Juventus wanted to prove superiority in Leipzig’ Thiago Motta praised 10-man Juventus for the comeback victory away to RB Leipzig. ‘Negative incidents happen, but the important thing is how you react to them. We wanted to prove our superiority on the field.’ It was truly an eventful match in Leipzig, as Gleison Bremer and Nico Gonzalez went off injured in the opening 11 minutes, then RB Leipzig were leading 2-1 when Michele Di Gregorio was sent off for handling outside the box on the hour mark. “We still need to understand what happened with Bremer and Nico, they need tests and hope the problems are not too serious, but it’s too early to say.” ............ “We played well in the first half too, even if there were a few technical errors, but we did even better when going down to 10 men,” Thiago Motta told. “I think the difference in the second half was that we had more belief and wanted to prove our superiority on the pitch. The first half was good, but in the second we needed to prove that we were superior to our opponents and therefore deserved the victory.” “The courage was shown by my players, not by me, so they deserve the credit. The team gave the feeling it genuinely believed in what we had talked about before the match,” continued Motta. ............ “Negative incidents happen in games, they were truly very negative today, but the important thing is how you react to them. We kept our heads high, showed the right attitude and these are the foundations you need for a team at this level. We proved with this attitude we could overturn a very, very complicated game.” Juventus now have six points from two Champions League games under Motta, having beaten PSV Eindhoven 3-1 and now RB Leipzig 3-2 at the Red Bull Arena. ............ He was unfortunate to touch the ball with his hand while rushing off his line, leaving his side with a man down. Nicolò Savona – 6 ............ Pierre Kalulu – 7.5 A robust display at the back from the Frenchman who produced a host of vital interceptions. He’s already establishing himself as a protagonist at the club. Nico Gonzalez – N/A ............ Teun Koopmeiners – 6 The Dutchman still lacks the killer instinct from his Atalanta days. His impact on the left wing was very limited. Dusan Vlahovic – 9 A magical evening for the Serbian who expertly latched on Cambiaso’s square ball to flick it past the goalkeeper. He then dragged the 10-man Juventus back into the match once more with a jaw-dropping strike. Substitutes Federico Gatti – 6.5 ............ Francisco Conceicao – 8.5 After scoring his first Serie A goal over the weekend, the Portuguese has now cemented himself as a hero among Juventus supporters with his maiden Champions League. Douglas Luiz – 4 The Brazilian gave away a spot kick seconds following his introduction while protecting his face with his hand, and his cameo never got off the ground. 14. RB Leipzig 2-3 Juventus: Incredible comeback victory with 10 men Juventus incredibly fought back from 2-1 down with 10 men in Germany to secure a stunning 3-2 Champions League victory over RB Leipzig with Dusan Vlahovic’s brace and a Francisco Conceicao solo effort. ............ The Germans had a big chance after four minutes when Lois Openda shrugged off Gleison Bremer to roll across for a panicked Pierre Kalulu clearance, but the Brazilian turned his ankle and knee during the incident and had to be replaced by Federico Gatti. Incredibly, he was followed moments later by Nico Gonzalez with a thigh issue, replaced by Francisco Conceicao, so Juve had lost two players and used up two substitution slots within 12 minutes. RB Leipzig took the lead with a sensational goal, as Openda’s absolutely inspired ball over the top found Sesko to control with the right foot, let it bounce and volley in with the left off the underside of the crossbar, giving Michele Di Gregorio no chance. It was only the second goal Juve had conceded all season. ............ Juve came out fighting for the restart, as first Teun Koopmeiners thumped the far post on a McKennie assist when he really should’ve done better. Moments later, Andrea Cambiaso’s cross from the left saw Vlahovic sneak in front of his marker to sweep in at the near post. Leipzig also threatened to restore their lead when Openda’s solo effort smacked against the upright, though moments later Openda was going clear on goal when Di Gregorio came sprinting outside the box and his glove just grazed the ball. Following a VAR review, the goalkeeper was shown a red card for stopping the clear scoring opportunity. It got even worse for Juventus on the resulting free kick, which Douglas Luiz charged down with his arm while trying to protect his face from Xavi Simons. It was the ex-Aston Villa midfielder’s first touch of the game, the referee awarded a penalty following the VAR review and Sesko converted the spot-kick. Nonetheless, 10-man Juventus equalised moments later with a remarkable solo strike from Vlahovic, who bent the vicious finish into the top corner from distance. ............ Instead, Juventus turned it around to lead 3-2 when Francisco Conceicao dribbled past David Raum and bent the finish into the far bottom corner from the tightest of angles. ............ Juventus held on through 10 minutes of added time for an extraordinary victory and have six points from two Champions League games. RB Leipzig 2-3 Juventus Sesko 30, pen 65 (L), Vlahovic 50, 69 (J), Conceicao 82 (J) Sent off: Di Gregorio 59 (J) Read more -> https://football-italia.net/ucl-rb-leipzig-2-3-juventus-incredible-victory/
  15. Ten-man Juventus stun Leipzig with superb win in Germany Juventus earned a sensational 3-2 win against RB Leipzig despite being down to ten men for the majority of the second half. The game started in the worst possible way for Juventus, as they lost Gleison Bremer within the first six minutes due to injury and Nicolas Gonzalez was also substituted minutes later following an injury, with Francisco Conceicao replacing him. Despite these setbacks, the Bianconeri controlled the ball in phases during the first half, but Leipzig opened the scoring through Benjamin Sesko. ............ However, after the break, they responded almost immediately with a goal from the in-form Dusan Vlahovic. Juventus had matched their hosts all night and deserved that equaliser, but their joy was short-lived as Michele Di Gregorio was harshly sent off for handling the ball outside his area. From the resulting free-kick, Douglas Luiz conceded a penalty, and Sesko was on hand to score his second of the game. Nevertheless, Juventus struck back almost immediately with another fine goal from Vlahovic, and the Bianconeri continued to attack their German hosts bravely despite being a man down. ............ Just when it seemed the Bianconeri would settle for a draw, a moment of magic from Conceicao gave Juventus the lead! Leipzig, stunned, tried to find an equaliser, but Juventus, brimming with confidence, matched them in every area of the pitch. Mattia Perin was particularly superb in goal.
