Vlahovic rejects Juventus idea to extend his contract Dusan Vlahovic’s contract expires at the end of next season, and he would earn around €12 million net in the last year of his deal. For this campaign, the striker is reportedly set to earn around €10 million per season at the club, which falls outside the latest financial parameters set by Juventus. The Bianconeri are cutting down on their wage bill and want to offer reasonable salaries to their players. ............ Juventus wants him to spread his earnings over a new contract until 2029, with a salary of around €8 million per season. While that may be a fair salary compared to what the top earners at some Serie A clubs make, Vlahovic is not open to such a significant reduction in his salary. The report claims he would reject an offer of €8 million net per season, insisting that the lowest wage he is willing to accept is €10 million per season. ............ Cambiaso says the responsibility of playing for Juventus has made him improve Andrea Cambiaso is living the dream of most Italian footballers by playing for Juventus, and he understands the significance of wearing the Bianconeri shirt. Juve is the biggest club in Italian football, and the men in black and white showcase some of the most unique talents in the game. Cambiaso recognises that it is a privilege to be one of their players, and he works hard every day to remain relevant at Allianz Stadium. ............ However, Cambiaso has earned the right to continue playing for the club, knowing that Motta has no favourites and will only give chances to those who truly deserve them. This calls for constant improvement, and Cambiaso was asked about his improvements, and he said: “From a physical and mental point of view, playing with this shirt is a responsibility that you have to take on and that’s nice, now I’m more and more focused.” ............ Enrico Valentini tells Juventus what to expect from RB Leipzig FC Nürnberg’s Enrico Valentini has sent a message to Juventus about RB Leipzig ahead of their Champions League clash today. Juventus has been in fine form both in Europe and domestically this season, but their match against Leipzig will be an even bigger test for the Bianconeri. ............ While Juve has been solid defensively and tough to break down, they are well aware that Leipzig is equally strong at the back, making this an evenly-matched contest. It means we are in for an interesting game, and Valentini said: “Without beating around the bush, they are a tough team that makes intensity and aggression their best weapons. The attack is among the best three in the Bundesliga, then in terms of names (Sesko, Openda and Xavi) they have almost nothing to envy the top clubs. I really like their game”. ............ Szczesny joins Barcelona following the long-term injury to club captain Marc Andre ter Stegen and has put pen to paper on a short-term deal until the end of the 2024-25 season. ............ The move is also set to benefit Juventus, as they will no longer have to continue paying Szczesny’s salary, which could save them around €2m over the course of the 2024-25 season. RB Leipzig vs Juventus: Preview and Prediction RB Leipzig will face another tough challenge in the UEFA Champions League when they host Juventus at the Red Bull Arena on Wednesday. Looking at the fixtures list, most big teams have only two or three big oppositions to play for, meaning the home side probably have the most challenging fixtures list in the Champions League league phase. Having already suffered defeat in the opening matchday to a late Atletico Madrid goal, RB Leipzig are now readying themselves to host an unbeaten Juventus side. ............ Meanwhile, Juventus will feel confident about this clash away in Germany after an unbeaten start to their season in all competitions. The Bianconeri opened their Champions League account with a 3-1 win at home over Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven. Had it not been for a late consolation from Ismael Saibari, Thiago Motta’s men would have maintained their 100% defensive record in all competitions. They have yet to concede a goal after six rounds of Serie A fixtures, and their 3-0 win over Genoa at the weekend also ended their three-match winless run. With that win at the weekend, which also ended their goal drought in the league, Juventus will be itching to take on Leipzig and collect another win in their quest to finish in the top eight. Team News & Tactics RB Leipzig Marco Rose will continue to deploy an attacking 4-4-2 formation against Juventus. Once again, Benjamin Sesko and Lois Openda will take charge of the attacking setup. Both strikers scored at the weekend, and the manager will hope to see their names again on Wednesday. ............ Probable Lineup (4-4-2): Gulacsi; Geertruida, Orban, Lukeba, Raum; Baumgartner, Seiwald, Vermeeren, Simons; Sesko, Openda Juventus Thiago Motta does not have too many concerns about injuries and absentees, as Arkadiusz Milik, Timothy Weah, and Vasilije Adzic are the confirmed absentees ahead of this trip to Leipzig. Motta did rest a few of his stars from the weekend’s game, and given his bent on using many of his squad options, this game against Leipzig could see the manager field a strong lineup. Juan Cabal could be the only change to the backline, as Jonas Jakob Rouhi, who started at left-back against Genoa, could make way. Motta will continue to experiment with his midfield, as it appears he has not found his best pairing yet. The Juventus side has seen a constant chopping and changing of that double-pivot, and this Leipzig game will see another change to the setup. Both starters at the weekend in Weston McKennie and Nicolo Fagioli will drop out as two of Douglas Luiz, Manuel Locatelli, and Khephren Thuram could come into the lineup. On paper, Luiz and Locatelli should form the partnership in the middle, while the front four is primarily expected to stay the same. Teun Koopmeiners will once again be tasked with the creative duties on the side, while Nico Gonzalez and Kenan Yildiz are the preferred choices for the wide roles. Dusan Vlahovic will continue to lead the line following his goalscoring performance at the weekend. Probable Lineup (4-2-3-1): Di Gregorio; Danilo, Kalulu, Bremer, Cabal; Locatelli, Luiz; Gonzalez, Koopmeiners, Yildiz; Vlahovic Key Stats Juventus are unbeaten in all competitions this season, conceding just once. Juventus remain the only side in Europe’s top five leagues yet to concede a goal in domestic action. RB Leipzig have lost only once in 19 games across all competitions. RB Leipzig are on a club-record run of Bundesliga games without a defeat. ........... Player to Watch Benjamin Sesko The young Slovenian striker’s decision to stay put and continue his development at Leipzig may eventually prove to be the right call. ........... Prediction RB Leipzig 2-2 Juventus Both teams are coming into this encounter in a superior vein of form, and either manager will want to assert their dominance in the game. Leipzig is coming off a big win at the weekend and will look to take home advantage against Juventus. The defensive resilience of this Juventus side will prove tricky for Leipzig’s otherwise livewire attackers. The game seems poised to go either way, meaning there’s a high chance of an entertaining draw in Germany, with a predicted score of a 2-2 draw. Champions League | RB Leipzig v Juventus: Match Preview The Red Bull Arena in Leipzig is set to host a thrilling Champions League encounter on Wednesday evening as RB Leipzig welcome Italian giants Juventus. Both teams enter this match with contrasting fortunes from their opening fixtures, setting the stage for an intriguing battle. RB Leipzig come into this match looking to bounce back from a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat to Atletico Madrid in their Champions League opener. ............ Juventus, under new manager Thiago Motta, made a triumphant return to the Champions League with a 3-1 victory over PSV Eindhoven. The Bianconeri have remained undefeated in their seven matches this season, conceding just one goal. Their weekend 3-0 win against Genoa in Serie A further underlines their current form. ............ Marco Rose’s Leipzig are known for their high-pressing, attacking style. The potential inclusion of summer signing Antonio Nusa or the experienced Christoph Baumgartner could add an extra dimension to their attack. Thiago Motta has brought a fresh approach to Juventus, fielding the club’s youngest-ever Champions League lineup in their opener. The Italian tactician will likely continue to trust in youth, with 19-year-old Kenan Yildiz potentially playing a key role. ........... Expected Starting XIs RB Leipzig (4-2-2-2): Gulacsi; Geertruida, Orban, Lukeba, Raum; Baumgartner, Haidara, Vermeeren, Simons; Sesko, Openda Juventus (4-2-3-1): Di Gregorio; Kalulu, Gatti, Bremer, Cambiaso; Locatelli, Fagioli; Gonzalez, Koopmeiners, Yildiz; Vlahovic Prediction Given Leipzig’s strong home record and Juventus’ recent struggles in away Champions League fixtures, this match could be a closely contested affair. Leipzig’s attacking firepower might just give them the edge in what promises to be a tactical chess match between two well-drilled sides. Prediction: RB Leipzig 1-0 Juventus Read more -> https://www.footitalia.com/champions-league-rb-leipzig-v-juventus-match-preview/

Thiago Motta: “It’ll be an open game against Leipzig, we are two similar teams.” Ahead of Juventus’ upcoming Champions League match against RB Leipzig, head coach Thiago Motta shared his thoughts on the challenge awaiting his team. ............ “Leipzig lost while playing well and showing important football against Atletico Madrid,” Motta began. “I think it will be an open match. They will press high with the intention to attack. It will be a different squad to face compared to those we’ve seen so far.” “We will try to take control of the game from the start. These are two similar teams with young players, great energy, intensity, and a desire to move forward. We must compete with them to keep possession and then play well, attacking them in a balanced way. Their counterattacks are dangerous.” ............ When asked about striker Dusan Vlahovic, Motta replied: “He’s been doing well since day one. For all strikers, it’s important to score, but our game is not just about that. Dusan has been giving his all from the first day; he’s a positive leader.” ........... Thiago Motta could launch new-look Juventus midfield against Leipzig Juventus coach Thiago Motta could be enticed to unleash a midfield trio that constitutes three summer signings in the upcoming Champions League contest. ............ Since the start of the campaign, Motta has been consistently tweaking his starting lineup, and he’s expected to do likewise for the clash against RB Leipzig. The Juventus manager could finally launch the midfield trio that the fans were awaiting in the summer, fielding Khephren Thuram and Douglas Luiz behind Teun Koopmeiners. These three players cost the Serie A giants a combined 125 million euros in the summer. However, we’ve yet to see them together in the starting lineup. ........... The Frenchman and the Brazilian both did well after coming off the bench against Genoa. Thuram produced the assist for Francisco Conceicao, while Luiz showcased his passing range and helped bring the ball forward with exquisite vertical plays. So it remains to be seen if the time has finally come for the new trio to combine with one another from the first minute. Preview: RB Leipzig vs. Juventus - prediction, team news, lineups After losing to a late goal on the opening matchday, RB Leipzig will target their first Champions League win of the season when unbeaten Juventus pay them a visit on Wednesday evening. While the Bundesliga side were painfully edged out in Madrid, their Italian counterparts returned to UEFA's top competition with a win over Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven. Match preview Faced with a particularly tough run of league-phase fixtures, Leipzig were keen to take at least one point from their first game - perhaps the toughest of all, away to Atletico Madrid at the Metropolitano. In addition to facing Serie A heavyweights Juventus and Inter Milan, Die Roten Bullen must also meet Liverpool and Portuguese champions Sporting Lisbon, plus Premier League high-flyers Aston Villa. ............ Amid an impressive start to his reign in Turin, Juventus coach Thiago Motta steered his side to success on their Champions League comeback - a potentially tricky fixture against Eredivisie champions PSV. Highlighting a changing of the guard under new management, 19-year-old Kenan Yildiz scored a brilliant opener in the Bianconeri's 3-1 victory, as Motta named Juve's youngest-ever lineup in the competition, with an average age of 25 years and 149 days. Yildiz also became their youngest Champions League scorer, with the only minor blot being the concession of a stoppage-time goal that remains the only one they have conceded all season. Undefeated in seven games so far, Juventus followed a strange streak of three goalless draws in Serie A by beating Genoa 3-0 at the weekend, with Dusan Vlahovic striking twice in a stellar second-half display at Stadio Luigi Ferraris. While several big-money signings are yet to truly find their rhythm, Juve are now well-placed to improve a dismal recent record on the road - at least in continental competition. The two-time European champions have lost four of their last five Champions League away matches, including each of the last three - their longest such run for a decade. Motta is now looking to end that sequence and become the third Juventus manager to win his first two games in UEFA's elite competition, following in the footsteps of two greats: Marcello Lippi in 1995 and Fabio Capello nine years later. ........... Team News ........... Meanwhile, Juventus could again be without Timothy Weah (ankle), and Arkadiusz Milik has yet to feature this season after suffering a knee injury on international duty, but Francisco Conceicao came on to score a late goal on Saturday after recovering from a thigh problem. Dusan Vlahovic notched twice in Genoa, and the Serbian striker has been directly involved in four goals from eight Champions League appearances to date, including an assist against PSV. Once again, he should lead the Bianconeri's front line in Germany, with support from Teun Koopmeiners, Nico Gonzalez and Kenan Yildiz. Elsewhere, first-choice goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio should return in place of deputy Mattia Perin. RB Leipzig possible starting lineup: Gulacsi; Geertruida, Orban, Lukeba, Raum; Baumgartner, Haidara, Vermeeren, Simons; Sesko, Openda Juventus possible starting lineup: Di Gregorio; Kalulu, Gatti, Bremer, Cambiaso; Locatelli, Fagioli; Gonzalez, Koopmeiners, Yildiz; Vlahovic We say: RB Leipzig 1-0 Juventus Leipzig have conceded just two goals in four Bundesliga matches so far this season - and both of those came in the course of beating champions Bayer Leverkusen - while Juventus have shipped only one overall. Naturally, it could be a close-fought contest, with one moment of magic enough to make the difference between two well-matched teams. A more potent attack should ensure that the hosts take maximum points. Capello praises Juventus for their turnaround performance against Genoa Fabio Capello was impressed with Juventus’ performance in their match against Genoa yesterday, praising them for how they secured the win. Initially, it seemed they were heading for another draw, but in the second half, Juve turned on the style and won 3-0. ............ The Bianconeri are determined to challenge for trophies, and their performance against Genoa certainly impressed Capello. He told: “The Bianconeri disappointed a bit in the first half, playing along the lines of previous performances: slow and predictable ball possession. But in the second half, once the result was unlocked, they showed that they have excellent potential. “I really liked the desire of the attackers from Thiago Motta’s team: they put a lot of pressure on the opponents to recover the ball and they threw themselves well into spaces. After the 1-0, Genoa lowered the defensive level and for Juve it was all easy .” ........... Journalist believes Juventus keeping clean sheets is a recipe for success Juventus returned to winning ways against Genoa yesterday, keeping yet another clean sheet in the league. The Bianconeri have conceded only one goal across all competitions this season, and no team has managed to score against them in Serie A. ............ Journalist Vittorio Oreggia is impressed, stating that not conceding goals is a proven recipe for success in Italian football. He said: “Beyond the clear victory after an honestly difficult first half, the difference is made by the fact that Juventus continues not to concede goals. And in Italy those who do not concede goals go very far, very far.” ........... Read more -> https://www.juvefc.com/journalist-believes-juventus-keeping-clean-sheets-is-a-recipe-for-success/
