  1. Juventus hold no Conte grudges, says Agnelli The coach's decision to fill the Italy hotseat following his shock departure from the Scudetto holders has not attracted any ire from his former employees. Sep 13, 2014 Juventus president Andrea Agnelli insists he holds no grudge against Antonio Conte for ditching the club then becoming Italy coach. Conte guided the Bianconeri to three successive Serie A championships in as many years but surprised many by resigning this summer, with board level arguments allegedly the reason for the trainer walking away. With Cesare Prandelli having resigned as Italy boss following a disastrous World Cup group stage exit this summer, Conte was the early favourite to take the job and it was not a shock when he was put in charge in August. However, there's no bad blood between Agnelli and the coach who brought Juventus so much success and he wished Conte the best with the Azzurri, who will be hoping to reach Euro 2016 in impressive fashion to banish World Cup 2014 memories. "I was delighted to see Antonio Conte on the bench of the national team, he's a quality trainer," the club president told Juve's official website. "What needed to be said on the fact that we went separate ways in July has already been said and nothing more needs to be added. "Conte had the opportunity to lead Italy, he was sought after and it gives me great pleasure that he got it. I heard from him immediately after his nomination to wish him good luck because he deserves it. "To Conte and to the Italian national team I cannot but wish them the best of luck, starting with Euro 2016." Juventus, and new coach Massimiliano Allegri, opened 2014-15's Serie A season with a victory over Chievo two weeks ago.
  2. We have no injury worries - Allegri The coach insists all of his players are fit, dismissing reports that Arturo Vidal and Carlos Tevez had fresh injury worries as nonsense. Sep 12, 2014 Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri said reports of an injury crisis at the Serie A champions are nonsense. Allegri's home debut at Juventus Stadium against Udinese on Saturday sees him without the services of midfielders Andrea Pirlo (hip) and Arturo Vidal (thigh), while defender Giorgio Chiellini is suspended. But Allegri said Andrea Barzagli (foot) will join the matchday squad for their home opener, while Alvaro Morata (knee) is also close to a call-up. "We have to be clear about injured players. I heard many things without any sense around," Allegri said. "A few players were previously injured or played in the World Cup, such as Barzagli or Vidal. "Chiellini was suspended so he couldn't play. However, he is training with the team now and Morata will join the team soon. "Regarding Barzagli, the doctors have done a great job and he is going to sit on the bench tomorrow." Allegri also waved away fears that striker Carlos Tevez was unavailable, after reports spread the Argentine picked up a knock. The coach added veteran Pirlo is close to a return, with midfielder Luca Marrone (thigh) the only player not in training. "Tevez is OK. He had just a little problem kicking a ball. Pirlo is almost ready. Marrone is the only player that is not fit," he said.

JUVENTUS - UDINESE - Saturday, September 13th, 2014 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee:‬ Antonio Damato Juventus Squad Named For Match Against Udinese Sep 12, 2014 Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has named a 22-man squad for the Bianconeri’s home match against Udinese on Saturday. The reigning champions opened up their season with a 1-0 victory against Chievo and will be looking to continue their perfect start against the Zebrette at the Juventus Stadium. Carlos Tevez and Andrea Barzagli have been included in the squad along with Alvaro Morata as the trio have recovered from their injury concerns. Arturo Vidal and Luca Marrone remain out while Giorgio Chiellini is still suspended. Goalkeepers: Buffon, Storari, Rubinho Defenders: Caceres, Ogbonna, Barzagli, Bonucci, Lichtsteiner, Evra Midfielders: Romulo, Pogba, Pepe, Marchisio, Coman, Padoin, Asamoah, Pereyra, Mattiello Forwards: Morata, Tevez, Giovinco, Llorente http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  5. Pirlo: Recovery going well Aug 26, 2014 Andrea Pirlo is hoping to be able to return to regular training with Juventus soon, as he provides an updated on his recovery. The 35-year-old is currently on the treatment table aiming to come back from a hip injury sustained in training at the close of pre-season, but has revealed his optimism. “The injury is going well,” Pirlo has told Sky Sport whilst visiting the MotoGP paddock alongside Andrea Agnelli today. “Next week I'm going to do some tests and then well see how it goes, see if I can starting kicking a ball.” The hope for Juve is that the veteran will be back in time to face former side Milan in Week 3. “I'm not sure yet. We'll see how the tests go on Monday and then we'll see day by day. “This is an important season, as tough as any other, between the League, the Champions League, Coppa Italia and national team. “We began well on the first day and tomorrow we start again in the true sense of the word, because from there it will be a series of important games that will launch this season.”
  6. JUVENTUS - UDINESE - Saturday, September 13th, 2014 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee:‬ Antonio Damato Juventus vs. Udinese: How Juve Will Line Up in Serie a Game Sep 12, 2014 Juventus finally host their first home game of 2014-15, the international break delaying the debut of Massimiliano Allegri in front of the Turin crowd. The new coach will line up against Udinese, pitting him against former Inter boss Andrea Stramaccioni in an important match for both sides. After another summer of upheaval, the Friulian side will be buoyed by their 2-0 win over Empoli last week, with talismanic captain Antonio Di Natale getting both goals. For Juventus, a routine one-goal victory at Chievo handed Allegri a solid start to his reign, and he will look to build on that on Saturday. The Bianconeri will be without several key figures, as Arturo Vidal and Andrea Barzagli sit out injured, while Giorgio Chiellini is suspended. It is likely the side will once again be deployed in a 3-5-2 formation, continuing with the framework Antonio Conte favoured with great success over the last three years. Goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon will certainly start between the posts, the club captain is looking to add to his opening day clean sheet as he bids to keep Di Natale and company at bay. The 36-year-old enjoyed a quiet afternoon against Chievo, making just two saves over the 90 minutes, according to ESPN FC stats. Defence More than anywhere else, defence has become a concern for Allegri, with a number of players unavailable for the coach. As well as the injury suffered by Barzagli and Chiellini’s suspension, Juventus will also struggle to call upon Kwadwo Asamoah on Saturday. Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Allegri told reporters the Ghanaian only returned from international duty 24 hours earlier. That means Patrice Evra will start on the left flank, per Football Italia, with Stephan Lichtsteiner opposite the Frenchman. In the back three, the Bianconeri are expected to continue with the trio of Martin Caceres, Angelo Ogbonna and Leonardo Bonucci, just as they did against Chievo. The latter will be boosted by a fine performance for Italy, where he was among the many positives of the Azzurri win over Norway. Midfield Juventus will also have to face Udinese without the talented Arturo Vidal, the Chilean midfielder returning from international duty with another injury. He has suffered a strain in his right thigh, which the Bianconeri will monitor in the coming days, as per Football Italia. Luckily for Allegri, he continues to have a raft of talented midfielders at his disposal, with Roberto Pereyra ready to deputise for Vidal alongside Paul Pogba and Claudio Marchisio. That trio should be comfortable against Udinese, the club Pereyra moved to Turin from this past summer. Attack Carlos Tevez was reportedly injured earlier this week, but the striker took to Twitter to deny he was hampered in anyway. “Thank you to everyone for being worried about me,” he wrote (h/t Football Italia). “I have no lesions and I am preparing for Saturday’s game.” Despite those assurances, it is expected that Fernando Llorente will start the match against Udinese, stepping in for the Argentinean. Alongside him, the impressive Kingsley Coman—who was analysed in detail here—may be handed a second start by Allegri. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  7. JUVENTUS - UDINESE - Saturday, September 13th, 2014 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee:‬ Antonio Damato Former Juventus And Udinese Striker Anticipating Exciting Clash Sep 12, 2014 Former Juventus and Udinese striker Vincenzo Iaquinta is looking forward to seeing his past employers face each other in Serie A on Saturday night. The Bianconeri hired Massimiliano Allegri and the Zebrette recruited Andrea Stramaccioni as coaches for their respective clubs but Iaquinta said that both teams can already play good football. “It will be a beautiful challenge between two teams who play well in spite of the arrival of two new coaches on both benches,” Iaquinta told TuttoMercatoWeb. “I saw a great Juve capable of putting in a great test on the field against Chievo. “It must be said that the level of module and tactics I seemed to have seen were of Antonio Conte’s team but perhaps after three years it is also normal. “Udinese have always been a team that plays well and it will also do so with Stramaccioni. “They started well and now comes the test at the Juventus Stadium, a stadium in which it is always difficult to play at.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  8. JUVENTUS - UDINESE - Saturday, September 13th, 2014 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee:‬ Antonio Damato Juventus v Udinese: Preview Sep 12, 2014 Udinese head coach Andrea Stramaccioni expects a tough test against Juventus on Saturday despite the fact the Italian champions are missing several key players. Juve are without the services of Arturo Vidal, Andrea Pirlo, Andrea Barzagli and Alvaro Morata, who are all out injured for the Serie A clash in Turin. Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini is suspended and, to further complicate matters for Juve coach Massimiliano Allegri, Argentinian striker Carlos Tevez is doubtful after he sustained a muscular injury in training. ``We expect a difficult game at Juventus even if they are missing several important players,'' Stramaccioni told the giornalaccio rosa dello Sport. ``I'm sure the players that will replace them will be eager to prove their worth.'' Stramaccioni has reason to be wary considering Juve were unbeaten at home during the 2013-14 campaign and went on to claim their third straight Scudetto. ``We need to play an intelligent game,'' Stramaccioni said. ``We will need to run much more than them and make fewer mistakes than they do if we are to have a chance against them.'' Juve, under their new boss Allegri, started the campaign with a 1-0 victory at Chievo and begin their Champions League adventure at home to Malmo on Tuesday night. ``We want to start the Champions League on the right foot,'' Allegri said. ``We want to go far in this competition. ``However, we will only focus on the game against Malmo after our match against Udinese.'' Stramaccioni, who replaced Francesco Guidolin in the Friuli dugout this summer, will also be without several players. Defenders Gabriel Silva and Giovanni Pasquale are sidelined with muscular problems while goalkeeper Simone Scuffet sustained an ankle injury while on Italy Under-19 duty this week. Orestis Karnezis will start in goal. Antonio Di Natale, whose brace earned Udinese their 2-0 opening-day win over Empoli, will lead his team's attack against Juve. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  9. JUVENTUS - UDINESE - Saturday, September 13th, 2014 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee:‬ Antonio Damato Juventus V Udinese: Injury Hit Bianconeri Face Former Tormentor Sep 12, 2014 Serie A resumes after the international break and champions Juventus welcome Udinese to the Juventus Stadium on Saturday evening at 20:45. Both sides opened their accounts with wins in the opening round of fixtures. The Bianconeri usurped Chievo 1-0 away from home and Udinese having a comfortable 2-0 victory over Empoli. The Bianconeri will be calling on the strength of their squad with several major players out with injury. Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal and Andrea Barzagli all out injured with Giorgio Chiellini also missing through suspension. Fears have been allayed over the fitness of Carlos Tevez and is expected to play, while Alvaro Morata is also rumoured to be in line for some game time. Claudio Marchisio will continue in the absence of Pirlo with Martín Cáceres replacing Barzagli and with the prospect of Roberto Pereyra making his first competitive start for Juve against his former club, replacing the injured Vidal. The partnership of Fernando Llorente and Tevez may be reunited despite the impressive debut of young Frenchmen Kingsley Coman in the opening game against Chievo. Udinese also suffering from injuries with highly rated young goalkeeper Simone Scuffet missing along with full-backs Gabriel Silva and Giovanni Pasquale. Juventus did the double over their visitors from Udine last season without conceding a goal with a 1-0 in Turin then a 0-2 win in the Stadio Friuli. Since then, both clubs have changed coaches with Massimiliano Allegri at the helm of the champions and Andrea Stramaccioni hoping to rebuild his career with Udinese. Stramaccioni inflicted the only loss to the Bianconeri in their own stadium whilst in charge at Inter, and in all their previous meetings as coaches, Allegri has never won against a side coached by Stramaccioni. As always, ever green striker Antonio Di Natale will be key for the Zebrette and having already opened his account with two goals against Empoli will be once again in the running for the Capocannoniere. Expected starting XIs JUVENTUS - Buffon, Caceres, Bonucci, Ogbonna, Lichtsteiner, Pogba, Marchisio, Pereyra, Asamoah, Llorente, Tevez. UDINESE - Karnezis, Heurtaux, Danilo, Domizzi, Widmer, Allan, Guilherme, Badu, Piris, Muriel, Di Natale. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  10. JUVENTUS - UDINESE - Saturday, September 13th, 2014 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee:‬ Antonio Damato Juventus V Udinese – Team News, Tactics, Line-Ups And Prediction Sep 12, 2014 Juventus host Udinese in their first home game this season looking for a positive result ahead of a testing few weeks where they will meet AC Milan and AS Roma. A dominant display against Chievo yielded 3 points but Massimiliano Allegri expressed concerns over the host of missed chances in front of goal and he would be hoping that Juventus are more clinical than the first game of the season. Udinese meanwhile have started very brightly with wins over Ternana in the Coppa Italia followed by a 2-0 win over new boys Empoli in the first game of the new Serie A season. This will be the first real test of new manager Andrea Stramaccioni as they take on the champions but the confidence of a good start should see them put up a decent challenge in the intimidating Juventus stadium. Team news and tactical brief JUVENTUS Despite reports suggesting that Allegri would switch to a 4man defence against Chievo, the new head coach went for the tried and tested 3-5-2 formation with Martin Caceres, Leonardo Bonucci and Angelo Ogbonna in defence. They are expected to be retained for this game also as Andrea Barzagli has not regained full fitness although he has started training and played 45mins in a practice match against Serie D side Pro Settimo Eureka at Vinovo. Giorgio Chiellini is still serving a 3 match suspension and he is not yet fully fit. He was recalled from the national camp amidst controversy. Luca Marrone will most likely be out for 20 days after he suffered a muscle injury in his left thigh. Paul Pogba was at his majestic best against Spain last Friday displaying his full array of skills and he will be looking to lead the line as Andrea Pirlo is still nursing an injury. Amidst reports of a fresh knee injury, Arturo Vidal played the full 90 mins against Mexico on Sunday but returned to Vinovo after that with a thigh injury. Judging by his performances against Chievo and Mexico, it is safe to say his knee is almost fine but this thigh sprain should keep him out for this game. New signing Roberto Pereyra should start in midfield against his old club alongside Claudio Marchisio who also returned early from national duty as he was suspended for the game against Norway. Kwado Asamoah and Stephan Lichtsteiner will take up their usual positions as fullbacks in the team. Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente were both in Vinovo during the international break but Tevez suffered a muscle injury and will miss this game. They are yet to start as a pair upfront this season. Kingsley Coman will get his home debut after a wonderful performance against Chievo and Kazaksthan u21 last week. New signing Alvaro Morata played the full 90 mins in the practice match and is very close to regaining full fitness. He is also expected to start as a substitute but Juventus fans will be looking forward to seeing him on the pitch for a few minutes after his big money move from Real Madrid this summer. Probable Starting Line-up (3-5-2): Buffon; Caceres, Bonucci, Ogbonna; Lichtsteiner, Pogba, Pereyra, Marchisio, Asamoah; Coman, Llorente UDINESE For the first time since 2010-11, Udinese do not have any European commitments this season. This will allow new head coach Andrea Stramaccioni to focus only on domestic competitions. Interestingly, Stramaccioni was the first manager to get three points in the Juventus stadium with his Inter Milan side in 2012. Chances of repeating that feat looks unlikely but Udinese are buoyed by a steady start to their campaign. This will be a tough test for a relatively young looking side with teenage sensation Simone Scuffet again missing out with an ankle injury. He was not picked for the first game and his injury will mean another chance in goal for Greek international Orestis Karnezis. Gabriel Silva is out with an injury so his position on the left side of the defence will be taken up by Danilo. Pasquale and Frenchman Heurtaux will partner experienced campaigner Maurizio Domizzi in the 3man backline. Silvan Widmer will take his place on the right side of the five man midfield. Central figure in midfield will be the ever reliable Allan who will be looking to stifle the free flowing Juventus midfield. The bulk of the dirty work is expected to be done by Ghanaian Agyemang-Badu. New summer signing Panagiotis Kone will make his debut on Saturday after coming on as a sub in the last game against Empoli. Kone was one of the few players who caught the eye in Bologna and he also had a decent outing in Brazil for his national side Greece. Upfront Luis Muriel will partner the red-hot Antonio Di Natale with new signing Cyril Thereau once again expected to come on as an impact substitute. Probable Starting Line-up (3-5-2): Karnezis; Danilo, Heurtaux, Domizzi; Kone, Pasquale, Widmer, Allan, Badu; Muriel, Di Natale Players to Watch Out For Paul Pogba (Juventus) Paul Pogba is one of the biggest names in world football at this moment. His scintillating displays against Spain and Serbia just cemented the belief that this boy is destined for greatness in his career. Against Chievo, Pogba once again put on a decent shift and combined well with the frontmen. Reports suggest he is very close to a contract extension and he fully committed himself to his club in a recent interview with La Stampa. Max Allegri is expecting Pogba to take an advanced role in midfield and contribute more to the attacking play. It remains to be seen how he functions in this new role but early signs are good enough to suggest that the Frenchman can do justice to his new role. Antonio Di Natale (Udinese) The evergreen icon of the Zebrette, the talismanic captain has entered his 11th season for Udinese in the best possible fashion scoring 6 goals in two games including four against Ternana in the Coppa Italia. He bagged a brace last week against Empoli and he is definitely the man to watch out for in this game. Di Natale has not scored in the Juventus stadium as of yet but he will be looking to break his duck on Saturday. He is just five goals shy from the 200 mark in Italy. Prediction Juventus 2–0 Udinese Allegri will be confident of picking up three points in his first official home game as Juventus manager ahead of a busy schedule in September. Apart from Di Natale, Udinese squad looks pretty average and it should be a relatively easy win for the Bianconeri. Blast From the Past A tight contest was settled deep into injury time by Fernando Llorente who headed in a cross(shot) from Stephan Lichtsteiner last time these two sides met in Turin. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  11. JUVENTUS - UDINESE - Saturday, September 13th, 2014 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee:‬ Antonio Damato Allegri: Injuries not that bad Sep 12, 2014 Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has cooled the furore over the injury situation in Turin. A number of the Old Lady squad have been sidelined in recent weeks, with Arturo Vidal the latest casualty. “Too much has been made of the injuries,” Allegri stated on Friday. “You all now that there are two or three players who have had problems for a few months. “People like Andrea Barzagli and Arturo Vidal, whereas Giorgio Chielllini was suspended and he’s now training again. “Barzagli could be on the bench tomorrow, Alvaro Morata will return, while Andrea Pirlo is on the road to recovery. And Carlos Tevez has no injury. “I’ll talk to Carlos. He is fine and he wants to play, but I want to evaluate any risks as we have to start the Champions League campaign well too. “Morata is available, but he hasn’t got 90 minutes in his legs. He’s in decent shape, but we expect a lot from him. As well as having speed, he has great quality. “I have faith in the players at my disposal. The season is long and everyone will have to make a contribution.” Following the Week 1 win at Chievo, Allegri will be looking for maximum points when Udinese visit on Saturday. “Udinese are a difficult side to face. They are well built and Andrea Stramaccioni has inherited a good team from Francesco Guidolin. “It will be a special game for me as it will be my first as Juventus boss at the Juventus Stadium. We’ll need the support of the fans.” Allegri opted to stick with the 3-5-2 formation of his predecessor Antonio Conte in Verona and he will do again – even if confirming that Patrice Evra will play. “Let’s be clear, it is not as if Juventus belong to one Coach if they play with a four at the back and another if they field three. “Ripping up a system that has worked makes no sense. Also, if Barzagli and Chiellini are missing then a four-man defence is no good. “Evra was an important signing and he’ll certainly play tomorrow. He can play in a four-man defence or a five-man midfield. He just has to get used to Italian football.” Allegri was also questioned on Juventus’ title rivals this term. “Roma have done some excellent things on the transfer market, Milan too. “It will be a balanced championship and harder than last term. It will be decided in the last few weeks. Napoli are to be feared as well.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  12. JUVENTUS - UDINESE - Saturday, September 13th, 2014 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee:‬ Antonio Damato Stramaccioni respects Juve strength Sep 12, 2014 Andrea Stramaccioni says his win in Turin while Inter boss means nothing ahead of the Juventus-Udinese encounter. Stramaccioni famously ended Juve’s 49-game unbeaten streak during his stint with the Nerazzurri and he’ll return to the Juventus Stadium on Saturday. “It was a great game, unique,” said the man who replaced Francesco Guidolin on the Udine hot-seat in the summer. “It was first against second and I remember it fondly. But that is part of the past and Juventus-Udinese must not be influenced by that memory. “I know it will be a different game tomorrow. We know what Juventus are, we respect them, but we want to cause them problems. “I’ve seen a lot of Juventus games in preparation for this tie. You often get the sensation that they will score in every game. “With humility, I say that we will go there to defend, but our mentality will be to try to do them harm whenever they make a mistake.” Juventus also changed bosses over the summer when Massimiliano Allegri stepped in for Antonio Conte. Allegri made a winning start with a 1-0 win at Chievo two weeks ago. “Week 1 of the season showed that Juventus are still a solid side,” Stramaccioni added. “They played with a good rhythm and won at a difficult ground. “It looks like the same old Juventus to me, with the same system that has allowed their players to win so much already. “They played with excellent intensity despite injuries.” Juventus won all of their League games at home last season. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  13. JUVENTUS - UDINESE - Saturday, September 13th, 2014 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee:‬ Antonio Damato Juventus-Udinese Preview: Allegri faces injury crisis The Serie A champions have a growing injury list with Carlos Tevez the latest casualty, meaning Sebastian Giovinco and Fernando Llorente are the coach's only striking options. Sep 12, 2014 Massimiliano Allegri will have to contend with a growing injury list as Juventus welcome Udinese in Serie A on Saturday. With Arturo Vidal (thigh), Andrea Pirlo (hip), Andrea Barzagli (Achilles) and Giorgio Chiellini (calf) all unavailable, though it looks as though Carlos Tevez has survived an injury scare. Reports in the Italian press claimed that the Argentine forward limped out of training on Wednesday with a suspected hamstring injury. However, the former Manchester City man insisted that he is 100 per cent fit, much to the relief of the Italian champions, with Tevez having scored 19 goals last season as Juve saw off the threat of Roma to take a third consecutive Scudetto. It would also leave Sebastian Giovinco and Fernando Llorente as Allegri's primary striking options for his first home match in charge. Juve coach Allegri could, however, be boosted by the return of close-season signing Alvaro Morata, who has made a swift recovery from the knee surgery he had in July. Morata joined from Real Madrid with the promise of increasing Juve's attacking threat and, though a start against Udinese is unlikely, he could play a role from the bench. Chiellini's absence has been the subject of some controversy, with the defender having been withdrawn from international duty by his club. Juve were forced to defend the decision to recall Chiellini amid criticism from the Italy hierarchy, who argued that he should have stayed with his country until the end of the international break. While Allegri's tenure started with a 1-0 win over Chievo, Udinese were also victorious in Andrea Stramaccioni's first game at the helm - beating newly promoted Empoli 2-0. Stalwart striker Antonio Di Natale scored twice in that match to defeat the club where his career began almost two decades ago. That double added to the 36-year-old's incredible five-goal haul against Ternana in the Coppa Italia, and Udinese will need their talisman to be on top form if they are to upset the odds this weekend. Udinese, who finished 13th last season, have not beaten Juve in the last six attempts and lost twice to them in the 2013-14 campaign. JUVENTUS - UDINESE - Saturday, September 13th, 2014 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee:‬ Antonio Damato Morata poised for Juventus debut against Udinese Massimiliano Allegri says the striker could play some part this weekend and claims it would be foolish to rip up Antonio Conte's system. Sep 12, 2014 Alvaro Morata is fit enough to make his Juventus debut against Udinese, coach Massimiliano Allegri has confirmed. The striker has been sidelined since suffering an ankle injury in training shortly after completing his move from Real Madrid during the summer, and while the Spaniard is not yet ready for 90 minutes of action, Allegri expects to be able to call on the 21-year-old for Saturday's clash. “Too much has been made of the injuries,” Allegri told reporters on Friday when asked about the supposed crisis within the squad. “You all know that there are two or three players who have had problems for a few months, like Andrea Barzagli and Arturo Vidal. "Giorgio Chiellini was suspended and he’s now training again, though. “Barzagli could be on the bench tomorrow, Alvaro Morata will return, Andrea Pirlo is on the road to recovery. “Morata is available, but he hasn’t got 90 minutes in his legs. He’s in decent shape, but we expect a lot from him. As well as having speed, he has great quality." Carlos Tevez denied reports this week that he was struggling with injury and Allegri has confirmed the Argentina striker is fit to play - though he warned he may have to rest some players before the Champions League begins next week. "Carlos Tevez has no injury," he said. “I’ll talk to Carlos. He is fine and he wants to play, but I want to evaluate any risks as we have to start the Champions League campaign strongly, too. “I have faith in the players at my disposal. The season is long and everyone will have to contribute something. “Udinese are a difficult side to face," he continued. "They are well built and Andrea Stramaccioni has inherited a good team from Francesco Guidolin. “It will be a special game for me as it will be my first as Juventus boss at the Juventus Stadium. We’ll need the support of the fans.” Allegri also made it clear he is in no rush to abandon Antonio Conte's winning 3-5-2 formula, and is determined to find a way to fit Patrice Evra into the side. “To be clear, it is not as if Juventus belong to one coach if they play with four at the back and another if they field three," said the former AC Milan boss. “Ripping up a system that has worked makes no sense. Also, if Barzagli and Chiellini are missing then a four-man defence is no good. “Evra was an important signing and he’ll certainly play tomorrow. He can play in a four-man defence or a five-man midfield. He just has to get used to Italian football.” Allegri also believes Juve's quest for a fourth-successive title has been made extremely tough by the strengthening their main rivals conducted in the summer. “Roma have made some excellent moves in the transfer market, Milan too," he added. “It will be a balanced championship and harder than last term. It will be decided in the last few weeks. Napoli are to be feared as well.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  15. JUVENTUS - UDINESE - Saturday, September 13th, 2014 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee:‬ Antonio Damato Tevez: Injury rumours are rubbish The Argentine has dismissed reports in the Italian press suggesting that he is unavailable to face Udinese. Sep 12, 2014 Juventus striker Carlos Tevez has revealed that rumours claiming he is unfit to face Udinese on Saturday are untrue. Reports in Italian media claimed that coach Massimiliano Allegri would be without his star striker in his first home match in charge of the Scudetto holders after the Argentine limped out of training on Wednesday. However, Tevez - whose international exile continued this month when new Argentina coach Gerardo Martino left the forward out of his first squad - has dismissed suggestions Juve will have to fend without him this weekend as he has avoided picking up a knock. "Thanks to those of you who expressed your concern, but I am not injured," the 30-year-old wrote on his official Twitter account. "I'm preparing myself to play on Saturday." Tevez scored 21 times for Juventus last season, forging a great partnership with fellow striker Fernando Llorente, who himself bagged 18 goals. Allegri's men will be aiming to add to their opening day 1-0 win over Chievo against an Udinese side who also triumphed in their first clash of 2014-15. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  16. Llorente: Allegri is a winner The Juventus forward says he is confident in his coach's ability to win trophies and also had encouraging words for new team-mate Alvaro Morata after his summer arrival. Sep 11, 2014 Fernando Llorente insists new Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri is a winner and expects the Turin side to enjoy another successful season under his leadership. The Spanish striker was a Scudetto winner in his first season in Italy, scoring 16 Serie A goals to help Juve to their third consecutive title after signing on a free transfer from Athletic Bilbao. Coach Antonio Conte left the club in the summer and was controversially replaced by former AC Milan boss Allegri, but Llorente believes the club’s era of success will continue despite the coaching change. "Allegri has not been here for long, but you can already tell he is a great coach," the 29-year-old told Sky Sport Italia. "He has a winning spirit and he will certainly be able to win with Juve too. "Allegri is a coach with a very clear idea of his football and he is transmitting that well to the squad." Llorente believes fellow countryman Alvaro Morata - who joined the club from Real Madrid this summer to bolster an attacking group that also contains Carlos Tevez - will be a man to watch in 2014-15. "Morata is a player with a lot of mobility and he is very quick to finish his goalscoring opportunities too," said Llorente. "He can do well in any attacking role and I think he will really make his mark." Juventus host Udinese on Saturday before kicking off their Champions League campaign with a home tie against Malmo next week.
  17. JUVENTUS - UDINESE - Saturday, September 13th, 2014 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee:‬ Antonio Damato MATCH PREVIEW Sep 11, 2014 Defending champions Juventus are missing five of their first choice XI and Udinese could take advantage with veteran sharpshooter Antonio Di Natale. The international break has certainly not done Massimiliano Allegri's unenviable task of following in the footsteps of the indefatigable Antonio Conte any favours. Arturo Vidal, the highly coveted midfield maestro will be out of action for a minimum of 10 days after he picked up a thigh injury whilst on duty for Chile. The 27-year-old joins first team players Andrea Pirlo and Andrea Barzagli on the treatment table. Worse news was yet to come, as in Wednesday's training session the club's top scorer from last term Carlos Tevez suffered a similar thigh injury to Vidal. Early prognosis is that he will face a race to be fit for the clash with Milan next weekend and he will likely miss the Udinese game and midweek Champions League group stage opener against Malmo. Spanish striker Alvaro Morata will be unable to make his Bianconeri debut as he too is still recovering from knee surgery. Terrier like centre-back Giorgio Chiellini is suspended meaning that Allegri is without five of his best starting XI. Fernando Llorente will spearhead his 3-5-1-1 with either Kingsley Coman, who impressed on his debut against Chievo, or Sebastian Giovinco replacing Tevez in the hole. Udinese meanwhile are without 18-year-old goalkeeper Simone Scuffet and full-backs Gabriel Silva and Giovanni Pasquale through injury. Coach Andrea Stramaccioni may have cut his teeth at Inter before Erick Thohir removed him like a rotten molar, but he has a chance to start afresh with a Zebrette side eager to make amends for a disappointing campaign. Antonio Di Natale continues to ignore father time and an opening round brace against Empoli surely indicates that the 36-year-old is once again game for a Capocannoniere challenge. Keep an eye on: Roberto Pereyra (Juventus) – Having replaced Vidal for the final few minutes in Round 1, the 23-year-old Argentine is set to make his Juve League debut proper - at home and against his former club. The tricky winger has already scored for his new Bianconeri side in the Trofeo TIM and will need to take his chance in the absence of Vidal. Form Guide: Juventus ( - - - -W) Udinese ( - - - -W) Last season: Juventus 1-0 Udinese Stat fact: Juventus have won five of their last six home League ties with Udinese, four of which were to nil. The Zebrette last bucked the trend here four seasons ago with a 2-1 victory and the winning goal from the now Arsenal player, Alexis Sanchez. JUVENTUS: Buffon; Caceres, Bonucci, Ogbonna; Lichtsteiner, Pogba, Marchisio, Pereyra, Asamoah; Llorente; Giovinco Suspended: Chiellini UDINESE: Karnezis; Heurtaux, Danilo, Domizzi; Widmer, Allan, Guilherme, Badu, Piris; Muriel, Di Natale Suspended: None http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  18. Llorente: 'Allegri has winning spirit' Sep 11, 2014 Fernando Llorente said Juventus Coach Max Allegri has “a winning spirit” and trusts Fernando Torres will impress at Milan. The Spanish centre-forward spoke to Sky Sport Italia ahead of Saturday night’s Serie A match with Udinese. Click here for a match preview. “Allegri is a Coach with a very clear idea of his football and he’s transmitting that well to the squad. He hasn’t been here for long, but you can already tell he’s a great Coach and has a winning spirit. He will certainly be able to win with Juve too. “We have several different tactical options and you cannot play every game the same way. We’ll continue working on alternatives and then the Coach will decide how we play from match to match. “I hope this season to help the team with hard work and many goals. It’d be a dream to improve on the number of goals I scored last term.” Llorente is one of several Spanish strikers in Serie A this year, including his Juventus teammate Alvaro Morata and Milan’s Torres. “Morata is a player with a lot of mobility and can do well in any attacking role,” continued ‘The Lion King.’ “He is very quick when finishing scoring opportunities too, so I think he can really make his mark. “Torres is a fantastic player and he just needs a good year. I think he can do very well at Milan and wish him all the best, but at the end of the day the teams are more important than the players and I hope we can have a winning year.”
  19. JUVENTUS - UDINESE - Saturday, September 13th, 2014 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee:‬ Antonio Damato Juventus Star Tevez Denies Injury Claims Sep 11, 2014 Juventus striker Carlos Tevez has denied rumours claiming that he’ll be out for the Old Lady’s next match with Udinese and insists that he’s doing fine. The 30-year-old had reportedly pulled out of training with the Bianconeri on Wednesday after suffering a thigh injury and was originally expected to miss Juve’s Serie A game with the Zebrette on Saturday, as well as their Champions League group stage meeting with Malmo on Septemeber 16. Tevez spoke through his official Twitter page about the false claims regarding his physical condition and thanked the Juventus fans for their concern. “Thank you all for worrying about me,” wrote the Argentine. “I do not have any injuries and I am currently preparing for the match on Saturday.” The positive news on the striker’s condition comes as a sign of relief for Juventus as they will already be facing Udinese without Arturo Vidal and Andrea Pirlo, who are both currently recovering from their own injuries. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  20. JUVENTUS - UDINESE - Saturday, September 13th, 2014 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee:‬ Antonio Damato Serie A Preview: Juventus v Udinese Massimiliano Allegri will have to contend with a growing injury list as Juventus welcome Udinese in Serie A on Saturday. Sep 11, 2014 With Arturo Vidal (thigh), Andrea Pirlo (hip), Andrea Barzagli (Achilles) and Giorgio Chiellini (calf) all unavailable, it now looks as though Carlos Tevez could also be set for a spell on the sidelines. Reports in the Italian press claimed that the Argentina forward limped out of training on Wednesday with a suspected hamstring injury. That would represent a major blow for the champions, with Tevez having scored 19 goals last season as Juve saw off the threat of Roma to take a third consecutive Scudetto. Udinese, who finished 13th last season, have not beaten Juve in the last six attempts and lost twice to them in the 2013-14 campaign. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  21. Tevez calms injury fears Sep 11, 2014 Carlos Tevez assured Juventus fans he has “no lesions and am preparing for Saturday’s game” against Udinese. There were reports last night that Tevez had pulled up during a training session with a muscular problem. It had been rumoured Apache would be out of action for this weekend and potentially the next two matches against Malmo and Milan too. “Thank you to everyone for being worried about me,” wrote Tevez on Twitter this evening. “I have no lesions and I am preparing for Saturday’s game.” Juventus host Udinese in Turin on Saturday at 20.45 CET.
  22. JUVENTUS - UDINESE - Saturday, September 13th, 2014 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee:‬ Antonio Damato Domizzi adds to Udinese woes Sep 11, 2014 Udinese will be without Maurizio Domizzi and Simone Scuffet for a month. The Friulani are having a bad week on the injury front, as goalkeeper Scuffet had already been ruled out for three to four weeks with a sprained ankle. Today it was confirmed defender Domizzi had been diagnosed with a left thigh strain that will see him on the treatment table for 20-25 days before he can resume training. It looks as if Igor Bubnjic will get the nod in place of Domizzi against Juventus this weekend. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  23. Tevez adds to Juventus injuries Sep 10, 2014 Bad news for Juventus, as Carlos Tevez has joined Arturo Vidal and Andrea Pirlo on the treatment table. Tevez pulled up during today’s training session in Turin and reports suggest he has suffered a muscular injury. That would rule him out of this weekend’s Serie A game against Udinese, while he’d also be at risk for the Champions League clash with Malmo and the next fixture at Milan. Today it was confirmed Vidal will be out for at least a week due to a thigh problem he picked up while on international duty with Chile. Pirlo and Alvaro Morata are also out of action, while Andrea Barzagli is recovering from Achilles tendon surgery.
  24. Agnelli: 'Juventus fighting racism' Sep 10, 2014 Juventus President Andrea Agnelli made a speech at the UEFA Respect Diversity meeting on fighting racism. With UEFA President Michel Platini among those attending, Agnelli outlined the club’s “ongoing pledge to focus on education as the key to tackling all forms of discrimination and promoting integration. “Anti-discrimination, integration and education. These can be regarded as the three building blocks of a happy society – especially in this world I already described, a world in which people are moving from country to country at an unprecedented rate for working, studying and living abroad.” Agnelli addressed why racism in Italian stadiums – and indeed society – is still an issue, because historically this country was not accustomed to mass immigration. “For many decades now, the United Kingdom has witnessed very high levels of immigration, leading to a multicultural environment, not only in the big cities, but even in the countryside. “From my experience of living and studying in England, I noticed how it is completely normal for British people to walk down the street, even in smaller towns, and see as many people of a different ethnicity as his or her own. This is the situation and most people are not concerned nor bothered by it. They are used to it and they get on with their daily lives. “Italy is just waking up to this phenomenon of mass immigration. Of course, we were for many years a land of emigrants, but this is the first time in our history that we are seeing such numbers of people arriving on our shores and staying for long periods in order to make a living. The world has changed and Italy too is becoming a more multicultural country than ever before. “There is no better example of this than the football pitch. Our teams and our changing rooms have become multicultural workshops, filled with players from all over the world. I only need to think of the Juventus line-up this year to count eight different nationalities that take to the field every weekend. “When they put on those black and white stripes, our fans are not worried about where they come from. The Italian public has become accustomed to cheering for these men. They could be from Ghana, Argentina or Turin. All that matters, is they work together. “The current World Champions Germany are made up of a group of footballers who were not necessarily born in the country. Their all-time leading goalscorer, Miroslav Klose, was born in Poland but has become an iconic figure for all of Germany. “If we were to look at the Italian national side, we have a few players with Italian passports but with foreign heritage, who are becoming prominent figures for both club and country. It goes without saying that if Italy can include every component of its population in the same way as Germany, we would reap the benefits both on and off the pitch. “The international nature of the modern-day football club makes this sport the perfect means through which we can tackle racism.” Agnelli also noted the problem with ‘territorial discrimination’ – usually anti-Neapolitan or Southern Italian chanting that until this season was treated as racist abuse. “Unfortunately, we still hear chants in football stadia, both in the form of racism and territorial discrimination between Italians. “We all know that Italy is a country made up of different provinces with different ways of life – this is the cultural variety that should make us stronger as a people, yet we continue to turn a positive into a negative. “Why do we need to look at our differences with anger and aggression? If Italy can win World Cups by coming together as a nation, this country can excel in all walks of life when we treat each other equally and unite properly.” Juventus help sponsor anti-racism projects in schools in Piedmont. “If we can open up people’s minds from a young age, they will grow up to become the responsible and respectful adults of tomorrow. These are the kind of people we also want to see at the Juventus Stadium, which already provides the best family atmosphere in Serie A. “I believe that the wonderful initiatives we have come up with at Juventus are able to show that there are people working in Italy to overcome the ongoing problem of discrimination. “The example set at our club is something that we hope other teams will follow attentively. Football has a responsibility to eradicate this problem and by pulling together in the same direction we will learn to respect each other’s differences.”
  25. Italian Super Cup at Christmas Sep 10, 2014 The Italian Super Cup tie between Juventus and Napoli will probably take place at San Siro on December 23. Although the date and venue are yet to be made official, all the signs suggest that the Lega Serie A will agree to such a scenario. The annual encounter between the League champions and the Coppa Italia winners usually takes place at the start of the season. However, finding time in the summer 2014 calendar wasn’t possible so the match has had to be delayed. The 1995-96 clash between Juventus and Parma was also postponed to January 17. Both clubs also look set to give the thumbs up to playing the tie in Milan after the options of going to the UAE or Qatar were discounted. Juventus have won the last two editions when they beat Napoli 4-2 in 2012 and Lazio 4-0 last year. Milan are the only side in history to win the trophy on three consecutive occasions thanks to their triumphs in 1992, 1993 and 1994.
