JUVENTUS 3 - 1 COPENHAGEN Arturo Vidal (29'-PG) Olof Mellberg (56′) Arturo Vidal (60′-PG) Arturo Vidal (63′) November 27, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Attendance: 39506 Vidal hat-trick spearheads Juventus past Copenhagen Nov 27, 2013 Juventus earned their first Champions League victory of the season as they trounced Copenhagen 3-1 at Juventus Stadium on Wednesday evening. http://markting10.nl/ Arturo Vidal grabbed himself a hat-trick, rendering Olof Mellberg’s solitary strike in vain as the Bianconeri moved into second place in their group. Given the fact that only one point separated the Bianconeri from Galatasaray for second place behind Real Madrid, coach Antonio Conte opted to field his strongest line-up possible with burgeoning strike duo Fernando Llorente and Carlos Tevez spearheading the attack. The Bianconeri also welcomed Giorgio Chiellini back from his ban following a red card received versus Real Madrid on 23 October. Copenhagen naturally, were looking to absorb as much pressure and frustrate their opponents, hence the Lions didn’t venture much outside their own half for the opening portion of the first period. However, as they slowly grew into the match, spaces began to open up that the home side were keen to exploit, with opportunities on goal falling to Tevez and Paul Pogba during the early stages of the game. http://markting10.nl/ Still, as the last 15 minutes of the first half started approaching the match remained goalless, with the Bianconeri support making their growing frustration known as their team were unable to put anything past Johan Wiland despite their dominance in terms of overall possession. That is, until defender Lars Jacobsen committed a handball whilst mixing things up with Pogba and Vidal duly converted the subsequent penalty to put them ahead in the 29th minute. The goal appeared to lift a huge weight off the Old Lady’s shoulders as the fans also seemed to settle down a bit, with midfield maestro Andrea Pirlo having two opportunities in the remaining 10 minutes before halftime but was unable to really make anything out of either of his free-kicks. There were some nervy moments for Juventus immediately following the break, as a clearance by Martin Caceres struck defender Ragnar Sigurdsson but fortunately for the reigning Scudetto holders, the ball deflected wide. Still, despite the early scare, Conte’s troops were soon able to re-assert themselves on the game with Tevez and Llorente showing more signs of their growing understanding with some good link-up play only to have the Argentine’s effort balloon over the bar. http://markting10.nl/ Seemingly out of nowhere though, Olof Mellberg came back to haunt his former club in the 56th minute as he equalized from a goal mouth scramble to make it 1-1. However Mellberg went from hero to villain as he wrestled Llorente to the ground minutes later to concede a penalty.Vidal, as he had done nearly half an hour earlier stepped up and again duly dispatched the penalty to restore the Bianconeri’s advantage. The home side weren’t done yet–as the second goal spurred the home side again into life, with Pirlo pulling the strings as he set up Pogba, who in turn fed Vidal and the Chilean headed past a stranded Wiland to complete his hat-trick three minutes later. http://markting10.nl/ With victory assured, Conte opted to rotate the squad, sending on Mirko Vucinic, Claudio Marchisio, and Angelo Ogbonna to wrap things up. The result sets up a crucial clash between Juventus and Galatasaray, with the winner being the one to book their place in the round of 16.

JUVENTUS 3 - 1 COPENHAGEN Arturo Vidal (29'-PG) Olof Mellberg (56′) Arturo Vidal (60′-PG) Arturo Vidal (63′) November 27, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Attendance: 39506 CL: Vidal hat-trick revives Juve! Arturo Vidal’s hat-trick gave Juventus a 3-1 victory over Copenhagen, so they’ll qualify with a point in Istanbul. Nov 27, 2013 The Chilean became the first Juve player to score a Champions League treble since Pippo Inzaghi in a 4-4 with Hamburg in September 2000 and ended their six-game winless streak in the tournament. As Galatasaray lost 4-1 to 10-man Real Madrid, the Italians will go through if they avoid defeat in the final game. http://markting10.nl/ The Bianconeri were still without a victory in Group B and bottom on three points, but Copenhagen and Galatasaray had four, so a win here was absolutely essential. Andrea Barzagli, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Mauricio Isla and Sebastian Giovinco were sidelined, but Angelo Ogbonna still benched in favour of Martin Caceres. Copenhagen were without Daniel Braaten and held Juve to a 1-1 draw earlier this season. There were threats from the Juve ultras to go on ‘strike’ in the stands after the closure of the Curva in Serie A, but that was suspended and they got behind their team. Paul Pogba sprung the offside trap early on only to fire straight at Johan Wiland, while Carlos Tevez had a volley deflected wide and another charged down by ex-Juve defender Olof Mellberg. http://markting10.nl/ Juve were struggling to find a way through amid all the pressure, until Lars Jacobsen bizarrely chose to put out his hands and block an Andrea Pirlo cross for Pogba, as he seemed to not know where the ball was. It was an inevitable penalty and one that Arturo Vidal converted powerfully at the near post despite Wiland guessing the right corner. Pirlo had a couple of free kicks and Vidal didn’t get enough power to a curler to beat Wiland, while Pogba hit the side-netting. Straight after the restart, the Danes were dangerous as the ball ricocheted around the six-yard box until it was eventually bundled wide. Fernando Llorente held up a Kwadwo Asamoah cross for Tevez to blast over, then the Ghanaian’s effort was charged down in the box. http://markting10.nl/ Copenhagen grabbed an equaliser when a throw-in was catapulted into the box, the defence failed to deal with the high ball and ex-Juve man Mellberg fired in on the volley from 12 yards. Replays show Claudemir had his feet over the line, so it was a foul throw. However, Mellberg wrestled Llorente to the ground as the Spaniard tried to turn and shoot, leading to another penalty. Vidal stepped up again and this time sent the goalkeeper the wrong way. Chilean midfielder Vidal was star of the show, as he completed his hat-trick moments later with a stunning header. He hung in the air and looped a Pogba cross back across the face of goal into the far top corner. http://markting10.nl/ Gigi Buffon’s first save of the night was on 66 minutes, turning a sudden Youssef Toutouh snapshot round the post, but there was another mad scramble in the six-yard box that the Bianconeri struggled to clear. Juventus moved to a four-man defence and Wiland blocked a Pirlo free kick, while Vidal was granted a standing ovation with his late substitution. http://markting10.nl/ JUVENTUS 3-1 COPENHAGEN Scorers: Vidal pens 29, 61 and 63 (J), Mellberg 56 (C ) JUVENTUS: Buffon; Caceres, Bonucci, Chiellini; Padoin (Marchisio 69), Vidal (Ogbonna 83), Pirlo, Pogba, Asamoah; Tevez (Vucinic 81), Llorente COPENHAGEN: Wiland; Jacobsen, Mellberg, R Sigurdsson, Bengtsson; Gislason, Claudemir, Delaney (Amankwaa 77), Bolanos (Kristensen 60), Toutouh (Pourie 81); N Jorgensen Ref: Eriksson (SWE)

JUVENTUS 3 - 1 COPENHAGEN Arturo Vidal (29'-PG) Olof Mellberg (56′) Arturo Vidal (60′-PG) Arturo Vidal (63′) November 27, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Attendance: 39506 Vidal hits hat-trick in vital victory for Bianconeri The Chile international opened the scoring just before the half-hour mark and then struck twice in the space of three second-half minutes after Olof Mellberg had equalised. Nov 27, 2013 Arturo Vidal scored a hat-trick as Juventus moved from the bottom of Champions League Group B to second place courtesy of a 3-1 win over Copenhagen. http://markting10.nl/ The Chilean converted two penalties either side of Olof Mellberg's equaliser before nodding in a third to take his tally to five goals in the competition this season. The result, which eliminates Copenhagen, leaves Juventus second in Group B, two points clear of Galatasaray, whom they visit in their final game with just a point needed to progress to the knockout stages. Vidal's first penalty came shortly before the half-hour mark when Lars Jacobsen handled, but the hosts were momentarily stunned in the 56th minute when Mellberg levelled the scores against his former club. http://markting10.nl/ Midfielder Vidal claimed his second from the spot five minutes later following a foul by Mellberg before completing his hat-trick with a header two minutes later. The hosts made one change from the weekend as Leonardo Bonucci replaced Claudio Marchisio, while Claudemir and Christian Bolanos came into the Copenhagen side in place of Cesar Santin and Igor Vetokele, respectively. Paul Pogba wasted the first chance of the game in the seventh minute, firing a weak shot at Johan Wiland from the edge of the box after beating the offside trap. http://markting10.nl/ In the 29th minute, Juventus were gifted the chance to break the deadlock when Jacobsen inexplicably handled a cross while under pressure from Pogba and the referee had no hesitation in pointing to the spot. Vidal stepped up and slammed the penalty low to Wiland's right for his third successful spot-kick in this year's competition. Juve were dominant as the half wore on, Pogba rippling the side-netting from the edge of the area four minutes before the break. http://markting10.nl/ Copenhagen equalised 11 minutes into the second half when Mellberg hooked the ball home from 10 yards after the Juve defence failed to clear a long throw from the left. Parity lasted just five minutes, however, Mellberg's evening turning sour as he hauled down Fernando Llorente inside the area, Vidal once again sending the ball low into the bottom left-hand corner. http://markting10.nl/ Vidal put some daylight between the two sides two minutes later, hanging in the air at the far post to meet Pogba's left-wing cross and loop a header into the far corner. The remainder of the game proved uneventful with Juventus happy to sit back and soak up pressure to claim their first win of the campaign at a crucial time.

JUVENTUS - COPENHAGEN November 27, 2013 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Marotta: 'Win by any means' Nov 27, 2013 Juventus director Beppe Marotta praised Paul Pogba, but warned tonight they must beat Copenhagen “by any means necessary.” http://markting10.nl/ The Bianconeri face Copenhagen in the Champions League this evening. “It is certainly a game we have to win, by any means necessary, then there is an equally difficult final match away to Galatasaray,” Marotta told Sky Sport Italia. “We must therefore try to put this result under lock and key while we await the result from Real Madrid-Galatasaray.” http://markting10.nl/ Fernando Llorente and Carlos Tevez start up front tonight and have overcome early hiccups. “When we signed Llorente it was because he was a great transfer opportunity. He was off the field for almost a year and had to adapt to a different style of football. “Antonio Conte did well to drill those concepts into him and now we are all satisfied. He was a Spain international before, so it’s not as if we are just discovering his talent. http://markting10.nl/ “Of course there were going to be doubts on how Tevez would settle into a new environment, but he is an ideal professional and made the process very simple.” Another starter is Pogba, who was signed on a free transfer from Manchester United and has become a regular in the France midfield aged 20. “We didn’t expect Pogba to explode so quickly. We knew he was a very talented and promising player, but didn’t imagine him to emerge like this.”
