Romeo Attendance: 42000 Claudio Marchisio: We have to be more clinical in front of goal The Italy international has voiced his opinion that the Turin giants must improve their finishing if they are to be successful this season following their tie versus Genoa. Oct 23, 2011 Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio has stressed that the Turin side will have to be more clinical in front of goal if they are to fight for the title this term. The Serie A table toppers went ahead twice in their 2-2 home draw versus Genoa on Saturday, but they failed to put the match to bed before Andrea Caracciolo scored an 85th minute equaliser to snatch a share of the spoils. And Marchisio insists that they have to learn to finish games off when they are in the lead. "We can't go in front and then sit back hoping that the game will come to an end, like we did this evening. Instead we need to be more clinical and put the game beyond doubt," he was quoted as saying on the club's official website. "We had our opportunities to score: I

Romeo Attendance: 42000 I threatened to cut bonuses for my Genoa players & they drew with Juventus - Alberto Malesani A warning to get things right or forget about financial benefits saw instant change against Turin giants as the former Bologna man reveals how he motivated his charges. Oct 23, 2011 Genoa coach Alberto Malesani believes his side reacted to firm demands as they came from behind twice to draw 2-2 with Juventus in Serie A on Saturday. The outspoken boss said his men stood up and listened after he grilled them for their recent less-than-perfect performances. Malesani's side had lost twice and drawn once prior to their match at Juventus, and things looked bleak following Alessandro Matri's double for the home side. But goals from Marco Rossi and Andrea Caracciolo saw the Liguria-based outfit steal an unlikely point from their trip to Turin. "I ensured my players took note and I told the president there would be changes. I had become annoyed [with the poor form] and said there would be no bonuses for anyone. Look what happened ... the players gave 100 per cent the whole game," Malesani is quoted as saying by La Repubblica. "I did not look at what Juventus were doing, but I focused on ourselves. "We have done good things of late, but just some luck was missing from our performances." The result lifted Genoa to 9th place in the league ahead of their match on Wednesday against Roma. http://www.soccerway.com/national/italy/serie-a/2011-2012/regular-season/

Romeo Attendance: 42000 Antonio Conte rues dropped points against Genoa The 42-year-old has expressed his regret at seeing his side trudge off the pitch with a draw despite being in the lead twice, but insists they are still under development. Oct 22, 2011 Juventus coach Antonio Conte has declared his disappointment after overseeing a 2-2 draw against Genoa in their Serie A clash on Saturday. The Old Lady looked to be in control of the encounter, but were forced to settle for just the solitary point, as they blew their advantage twice to give Alberto Malesani's side a share of the spoils late on. Following the result, Conte was content with his side's display overall, but admits that they underestimated their opponents and remain on a learning curve as the season wears thin. "We faced a Genoa side with genuine quality, but we still created a lot, even if we suffered a bit more than in other games," the coach was quoted as saying after the game by La giornalaccio rosa dello Sport. "Towards the end, the match lost its spark with us still in the lead, and we had to be remain very attentive. I would rather lose the game and win the others beforehand than to earn four draws, but the road is long for us and we must continue to grow. Do not forget where we came from." Conte then turned to the topic of tactical changes throughout the match, where he reflected on his decision to replace Marcelo Estigarribia with Michele Pazienza near the death. "The entrance of Pazienza slowed down the opponents, but it meant that we hit some long balls upfield near the end," said the ex-Siena boss. "However, we are where we had to be and we must grow by the day. We will continue on our way, and we have a lot of work to do. You cannot win overnight, but we definitely lost two points." Juventus remain on top of the Serie A standings following a fourth draw in five games, but will now await the results of their league rivals on Sunday. http://www.soccerway.com/national/italy/serie-a/2011-2012/regular-season/
