  9. Barzagli's Arrival Signals End Of Juventus' Transfer Market - Giuseppe Marotta Juventus general director claims Barzagli's arrival from Wolfsburg ends their transfer plans for January... Jan 26, 2011 Juventus have closed the lid on their transfer market with the arrival of Andrea Barzagli from Wolfsburg. No further transfers will be engaged until at least June as the club revises its plans. Director Giuseppe Marotta made it clear there will be no panic buying from now until the end of the January window. "Transfer campaign over? Yes. There are no players able to make an immediate difference," he told La giornalaccio rosa dello Sport. "And, aside from costs, those arriving from abroad will need at least two months to adapt, so one might as well reason on the long term. "Buying just to buy is not for Juventus."
  10. Juventus Were Wrongly Stripped Of Deserved Titles By Calciopoli - Luigi Simoni Juventus success did not deserve to be broken down by Calciopoli, argues former Inter coach Jan 26, 2011 Juventus did not deserve to have their titles revoked by Calciopoli in 2006, former Inter coach Luigi Simoni has told Goal.com. His message comes just days after Inter president Massimo Moratti suggested Calciopoli favoured Juve. Simoni, who coached the Nerazzurri between 1997 and 1999, is certain Juventus were fully deserving of the 2005 and 2006 titles won under Fabio Capello which were later taken away by the investigations into the scandal. "Paradoxically Juventus were not stripped of two titles, but of two Scudetti which they more than deserved," Simoni told Goal.com Italia. "Capello's team was really the strongest of all. "However, there were years when people conditioned referees, but this is no longer the case now. "There are still errors, but this is normal."
  11. Andrea Barzagli To Join Juventus After Medical Juventus have confirmed Andrea Barzagli is having his medical in Turin and will pen his new deal afterwards as he arrives from Wolfsburg... Jan 26, 2011 Juventus have announced Andrea Barzagli of Wolfsburg is having a medical and will sign a deal later today. A statement on the club's official website reads: "Medical for Barzagli. "Andrea Barzagli is in Turin to undergo his medical. As usual, the examinations will take place in three Juventus-trusted establishments: The Fornaca clinic of Sessant, the Institute for Sport Medicine and the Isokinetic physiotherapy centre. "After the medical, Barzagli who has played for Wolfsburg since 2008, will move to the club's headquarters in Corso Galileo Ferraris to define the last details that will determine his transfer from the German club to Juventus." Barzagli, 29, left Palermo for Wolfsburg in 2008. His high moment arrived two years earlier when he won the World Cup with Italy in 2006.
  12. Luciano Moggi: Italian Football Has Not Changed Since Calciopoli Moggi claims nothing has changed since the Calciopoli scandal as hearing at Naples trial is postponed... Jan 25, 2011 Luciano Moggi has said the magnitude of Calciopoli has done little to change the Italian game. The former Juventus director suggested clubs are allowed to voice their concerns in relation to referees freely now, just like they were in the past. "The only difference in football post-Calciopoli is clubs like Palermo now write to the referee chiefs, where as before you were allowed to call the referee designators," Moggi told Gold.tv. "Nowadays you can no longer phone, but you can write. But football has not changed at all." Meanwhile, the latest hearing into the Calciopoli trial in Naples, which was due to take place on Tuesday, was postponed until February 22 by Judge Teresa Casoria. Roberto Porto, the assesor tasked with transcribing around 300 phone calls, was not ready to present the findings to the court, leaving Casoria to reschedule. However, the prosecuting attorney wanted the court to extend the postponement of the hearing so they could read through all the transcripts once Porto is done, but Casoria maintained the February 22 date. The counsel is expected to adress the defences from the next hearing onwards in relation to the charges.

Claudio Orlandini said the 29-year-old Italian is expected to pen a deal with the Turin giants as he returns to Italy following a two-and-a-half-year stint in Germany. "I confirm Barzagli will go to Juventus 100 per cent and he will sign a deal this week," Orlandini told Voxpopuliromani.it. "In the next few hours Andrea will arrive in Italy to define the agreement. "It was a long deal, but luckily it has ended well even though there is no signature yet. "I am happy for the player as he wanted to move back to Italy."
  15. Marotta Claims Champions League Football Is The Objective Juventus are planning forward as Giuseppe Marotta waters-down Scudetto hope... Jan 24, 2011 Juventus are being less than clear over their ambitions for the season as Giuseppe Marotta claims a Champions League place will suffice less than 24 hours after coach Luigi Del Neri said the Scudetto was possible. "Scudetto? Our priority now is to reach, and qualify for, the Champions League," Marotta told Tuttosport. "As for the rest, we will see based on results. The league is strange and difficult for everyone. Look at Inter, they lost to Udinese. "Of course, winning is in Juventus' DNA, but the priority is Champions League football."
