Jan 12, 2011 Juventus are on the verge of announcing the signing of Andrea Barzagli from Wolfsburg after settling a deal with club and player. Il Corriere dello Sport claims the 29-year-old stopper, who is out of contract with the Germans, will pen a deal until 2013 in Turin and his arrival is expected to be announced within the next few days. Juventus will not pay Wolfsburg for Barzagli, but it is said the German club will receive some form of discount on the money they are paying for the summer transfer of Diego. Andrea Barzagli To Leave Wolfsburg For Juventus In January Andrea Barzagli is expected to leave Wolfsburg for Juventus this winter. Jan 11, 2011 According to a report on Tuttosport, experienced defender Andrea Barzagli is on the verge of leaving Bundesliga side Wolfsburg in the winter transfer window in order to return to Italy with Serie A giants Juventus. The 29-year-old defender has an expiring contract at Wolfsburg and is reluctant to sign a new deal with the Woelfe. Therefore, the German side are widely expected to cash in on Barzagli in the winter transfer window. However, Wolfsburg supposedly want to see whether Germany international Arne Friedrich is fully recovered from his back injury before offloading Barzagli. Friedrich is expected to feature for Wolfsburg in the match against Bayern Munich on January 15 before the Woelfe make a decision about Barzagli. Juventus are eager to add some more depth to their back-line in the January transfer window and sporting director Giuseppe Marotta supposedly sees Barzagli as the perfect addition to his squad. The report claims that the Vecchia Signora have already agreed personal terms with the centre-back and the transfer could be completed next week.

Juventus Are Aiming For A Champions League Place, Not The Scudetto - Giorgio Chiellini Giorgio Chiellini has reconfigured plans for the season and suggests Juventus have been thrown off the Scudetto yoke... Jan 22, 2011 Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini has watered-down suggestions that they are a force for the Scudetto, claiming a top four finish for a Champions League place is more realistic. Aside from last week's narrow win over Bari, a negative run of form in recent weeks has seen Juventus thrown off the title chase. And Chiellini feels the Tricolore is out of reach. "Scudetto or fourth place? when things were going well we believed in it and it was not impossible. Now we are seeing Milan slow down," he told La Stampa. "Now, objective wise, certain things have happened and so it is right for us to aim for the Champions League. "I think this is our primary objective for the season. Who will win the title? Milan if Zlatan Ibrahimovic doesn't get injured."

Jan 22, 2011 Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio claims he would reject offers from Europe's top clubs to remain in Turin as he underlines his future plans. Asked by fans on Tuttosport whether he would join Chelsea, Real Madrid or Barcelona, Marchisio responded: "I would answer the phone, but my response would be 'no thank you'. "Interest from big clubs always makes you proud, but I want to remain at Juventus." Skeptics suggested Alberto Aquilani's brilliance could banish Marchisio to the margins - a description he rejected. "Alberto has taken nothing away from me. Infact I believe he has added so much quality to the team. He has settled instantly."
