  1. Fabrizio Ravanelli offers some playing advice to Kenan Yildiz Former striker Fabrizio Ravanelli has offered some advice to Kenan Yildiz and also supports the decision to award the youngster the number 10 shirt at Juventus. Yildiz is anticipated to feature regularly for Juventus starting from next season, having proven to be a superb find for the Bianconeri. ............ The Bianconeri are looking to offer him a new deal and the number 10 shirt to show their commitment. While advising the youngster, Ravanelli said: “He must play wide in the last 20-30 meters. He has great quality and must not act far from the opponent’s penalty area. The number 10 shirt? I would give it to him without any doubt. The boy must grow with the mentality from 10 and must feel the trust of the club. With that shirt he would be even more at the center of the project.” ............ 2. Juventus manager Allegri lands on Napoli shortlist Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has reportedly emerged as a target for Napoli who are searching for a new manager. The 56-year-old still has another year left on his contract with the Bianconeri. However, the two parties could opt to part ways at the end of the season, with the management seeking a fresh start with a more progressive manager. Bologna boss Thiago Motta has emerged as the favorite candidate for the role. So Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has Allegri on his coach shortlist. ............. The Partenopei have already an agreement in principle with Juventus sporting Giovanni Manna who will vacate his post in Turin at the end of the season and head south. The 35-year-old could thus sponsor Allegri’s move. As for Juventus, they’re reportedly willing to offer a hand to make the operation feasible by covering half of the manager’s salary for the remaining year on his contract. 3. Official: Felipe Anderson snubs Lazio & Juventus in favor of Brazil return Lazio winger Felipe Anderson won’t join Juventus after all, as he instead opted for a return to Brazil through the gates of Palmeiras. The winger has been heavily linked with a move to Turin once his contract with the Biancocelesti expires at the end of the season. ............ Brazilian Serie A side Palemeiras announced their agreement with Anderson via the club’s official website. ............ 4. ‘Allegri will no longer be Juventus coach’, Caressa suggests Respected journalist Fabio Caressa suggested that Massimiliano Allegri ‘will no longer be the Juventus coach’ beyond this season, providing an update on his future. The 56-year-old Italian tactician has come under increasing pressure during his second spell in the Piedmont capital, and things reached a new level this season. After putting up a strong fight with Inter in the early stages of the title race, things began to fall off in the second half. Juventus have now managed just two wins in their last 11 Serie A matches, a run that has seen opinion on Allegri reach a consensus regarding his dismissal in the summer. One of the leading candidates to replace him is Bologna’s Thiago Motta, reports suggest. ............. Allegri future Speaking to Sky Calcio Club via TMW, Caressa first discussed the letter sent by John Elkann to Juventus shareholders last week. “The most important news of the week, beyond the 0-0 in the derby, was the letter that John Elkann wrote to the shareholders. There is a very important passage in which the team is given to Cristiano Giuntoli. ............. The famous Italian journalist then provided an update on the future of Allegri. “Allegri hasn’t been called by anyone yet, he has a good relationship with Elkann who recognizes him for having carried the team through a very difficult moment, but he hasn’t been contacted to tell him if he’ll be staying or going yet. “He feels a bit alone and abandoned but the feeling is that he will no longer be the Juventus coach next year.” Read more -> https://football-italia.net/allegri-no-longer-juventus-coach/
  5. Ex-Juventus striker predicts Allegri will leave Former Juventus striker Alessandro Matri sees ‘too much distance’ between the club and Massimiliano Allegri and predicts the Italian tactician will leave the Allianz Stadium in June. Allegri is under fire after Juventus’ 0-0 draw against Torino which means the Bianconeri have only two games from the last 11 in Serie A. ............. “There is too much distance between the club and Allegri, and it’s difficult to think they can continue together,” the ex-Italy international told DAZN. “When you talk about a project, you can’t get to this point and continue to stall for time. ............. What Giuntoli said about Allegri “At the end of the season, there will be time to sit down and understand what the future of Juventus will be with clear objectives,” said Giuntoli. “That is what we did last summer. The coach has a contract, he is doing a great job and at the end of the season we’ll sit down to talk with him.” Read more -> https://football-italia.net/ex-juventus-striker-predicts-allegri-will-leave/
  6. Juventus set more negative records – The worst attacking stats in decades Juventus continue to set some undesired records in what has gradually descended into a forgettable campaign. While Max Allegri and the club’s officials insist that the results remain in line with the objectives – that is finishing in the Top Four – the hollow performances have been difficult for the fans to digest, especially over the last few months. Yesterday, the Bianconeri fired blanks once more, settling for a goalless draw in the Derby della Mole against Torino. The last time the club scored fewer goals by this stage of the season was in the 1998/99 campaign. This term, the Bianconeri have only registered 45 goals since the start of the domestic campaign. In the 98/99 season, they had only scored 38 strikes after 32 rounds. So from an attacking standpoint, the stats suggest this is the worst version of Juventus in 25 years. ............ 7. JUVENTUS SPORTING DIRECTOR GIOVANNI MANNA SET TO JOIN NAPOLI Juventus sporting director Giovanni Manna will free himself and join Napoli in the coming days. Juventus sporting director Giovanni Manna was not present in the stands for the Turin derby and that could indicate a potential departure from the club soon. Giovanni Manna is looking to consider terminating his contract with the Bianconeri early as he is set to join Napoli in a much more advanced role. ............ 8. Juventus fans rejoice as record remains intact following Inter’s draw Juventus supporters can breath a sigh of relief following the 2-2 draw between Inter and Cagliari on Sunday night. While Max Allegri’s men haven’t given the fanbase many reasons to celebrate over the past few months, Claudio Ranieri’s Cagliari have at least helped the Bianconeri preserve an important Serie A record The Old Lady famously set the record for the league’s point tally in the 2013/14 campaign, assembling a whopping 102 points. This was Antonio Conte’s third and last season at the helm before his controversial departure in the following summer. ............ But while some of the Inter faithful were beginning to dream of breaking Juve’s record, their hopes were shattered last night when they settled for a single point against the tenacious Isolani. At the moment, Simone Inzaghi’s men have 83 points in the bag. If they win their remaining six league fixtures, they will finish the season with 101 points, one short of the Bianconeri’s record. ............ 9. “I’m always the first” – Chiesa mutters following his exit in Torino vs Juventus Juventus star Federico Chiesa was left irritated after leaving the pitch at the hour mark in the Derby della Mole against Torino. The 26-year-old was the Bianconeri’s most influential player in the final third during his time on the pitch. He put Dusan Vlahovic through on goal with a sublime cross that the latter squandered, and threatened with a low drive in the second half which hit his captain Danilo. Nevertheless, this hasn’t spared him from an early exit. As usual, Max Allegri decided to put a relatively premature ending to the striker’s outing, replacing him with Kenan Yildiz in the 60th minute. The manager simultaneously replaced Filip Kostic with Samuel Iling-Junior. Chiesa was left bemused and could hardly hide his frustration when forced to share an embrace with his manager. ............ Eventually, Chiesa was muttering to himself, and cameras caught him repeating the same line: “I’m always the first substitution”. ............ 10. Juventus Ultras clarify Superga banners: “We never intended to insult the dead” Juventus Ultras have released a statement explaining their actions in front of the Superga Basilica while denying any malice against the fallen Torino legends. Ahead of Saturday’s Della Mole, the Drughi (the most famous Juventus Ultras group) displayed banners in front of the Superga Basilica, causing great irritation among Torino supporters. This site is synonymous with the Superga air disaster which took the lives of the entire Granada squad on the 4th of May, 1949. That team was renowned as “Grande Torino”, having dominated Italian football in the post-WWII era. ............ “Regarding the controversy related to what happened on Friday night, we would like to underline that the Basilica of Superga has been a symbol of the city of Turin since its construction on a par with the Mole and the Caval’d Brons, and not Torino as a club,” reads the statement published by the Drughi. “We have always respected the dead, as we would like other fanbases to do towards our dead. “No one allowed themselves to even think about insulting the tombstone of the fallen. “It was just a demonstration that Superga, which protects our city from above (the hill), has been part of the history of Turin’s first team since 1897.” Read more -> https://www.juvefc.com/juventus-ultras-clarify-superga-banners-we-never-intended-to-insult-the-dead/
  11. OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL: Wojciech Szczesny has surgery after breaking nose Looks like Juve’s No. 1 could be sporting a cool mask the next time we see him take the field. ............... Szczesny, with his arms fully outstretched, caught an inadvertent elbow from Torino substitute Adam Masina, causing the Polish keeper to crash to the ground in obvious pain. About 12 hours after the final whistle sounded at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, we found out that what we expected to be the diagnosis after the big collision was indeed true — Szczesny broke his noise and had to undergo surgery to put things back in proper alignment, Juventus said in a statement on their website Sunday morning. “The surgery went perfectly successful,” it read. Szczesny is only expected to miss Friday’s trip to Sardinia against Cagliari. If that’s the case, that means Mattia Perin would play in back-to-back games for just the second time this season as he will make his usual Coppa Italia start the following Tuesday against Lazio, with Szczesny likely returning to the starting lineup on May 5 when Juve face Roma at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. ............... 15. Juventus suspect Szczesny fracture Juventus and Poland goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has a suspected fractured nose following a collision in the 0-0 draw with Torino. The shot-stopper went up to punch away a cross during the Derby della Mole when Adam Masina landed on him elbow-first in an accidental coming together. Play was halted for several minutes while Szczesny received treatment and he was clearly bleeding from the nose. Reports suggest that Juve medics believe there is probably a fracture and Szczesny will be taken to hospital for X-Rays this evening. ............... 16. Juventus 0 - Torino 0: Initial reaction and random observations What a great way to start the weekend... Knowing full well that the Derby della Mole is almost always going to be decided on the margins and incredibly close no matter who’s on the field, you can certainly bemoan the chances that Dusan Vlahovic couldn’t convert in the opening 30 minutes Saturday evening. You simply can’t afford to let big-time chances slip by in a game that you know full well going into things that is going to be tight from the opening kickoff to the final whistle. And yet, do those two moments completely overshadow how Juventus played for the entire second half against Torino? Man, it’s tough to say. Mainly because, as much as Vlahovic missing two should-be goals within the first half hour, Juventus playing simply as poorly as they did after halftime and creating next to nothing outside of a chance from substitute Kenan Yildiz played a big role in the final Derby della Mole of the 2023-24 season ending in a scoreless draw. Juventus did what Max Allegri has decided to do a lot this season rather than what common logic might tell you. Juve sat back and chose to protect the point rather than truly pushing forward on a consistent basis to try and get the win. Their pressing died off, their passing wasn’t as crisp or even as quick as it was and it was just an overall showing after the break that, no matter what Vlahovic did, left you befuddled as to why this team and manager continues to do these types of things in games that are very much of the winnable variety. On top of that, it makes you somewhat baffled that they actually had more possession than Torino after halftime. Your eyes said one thing, the stats say another thing. In the end though, this definitely feels like two points dropped rather than a point earned. ............ Yes, Vlahovic will bear a whole lot of the blame for those two missed chances. He deserves the criticism for it, and that’s just the nature of the beast when you’re the No. 9 of the biggest club in Italy and have such a transfer fee attached to your name whenever it’s mentioned. But, let’s face it, Juventus shouldn’t be going the next 60-plus minutes with just a couple of shots on goal no matter how tough of a defense you are facing. ............ We’ve talked for weeks now about how tough the schedule is to close the final stretch of the season and how the Turin derby was going to be one of the few games left against mid-table opposition that would very much be a game Juventus should (and probably had to?) win. As it turns out ... they didn’t. So now, instead of keeping the winning ways of last week going, we’re now hearing about the horrendous run of form Juve are on again. It’s now two wins in their last 10 league games, by the way. That’s just not good enough to keep a hold of where you want to finish no matter who you are. RANDOM THOUGHTS AND OBSERVATIONS Sure, it was at Torino’s home stadium, but that atmosphere sounded absolutely phenomenal at kickoff. We may have about that in a few days ... It took all of about two minutes for Dusan Vlahovic and Alessandro Buongiorno to show that they are two big boys who are very much going to scrap against one another for the next couple of hours. And then right after typing that there goes Vlahovic missing an absolutely glorious chance after some brilliant work on the right wing by Federico Chiesa. Like, how do you miss that? (Maybe he didn’t want to start all of the corto muso in the seventh minute, I dunno.) ............ Torino’s first shot on goal came in the 60th minute. Wojciech Szczesny made a very good save on it. I like Tek Szczesny. He can stay as long as he wants. What I don’t like is when Tek catches a stray elbow and might have ended up with a broken nose. The only positive to come out of that is that we might see him wearing a mask the next time he takes the field. That would look cool. Or maybe because it’s Szczesny kinda awkward because that’s just kinda who he is. The look on Chiesa’s face when he was subbed out pretty much told the whole story. Let’s look at it, shall we? ............ Adrien Rabiot was the only Juventus midfielder to record a key pass against Torino. Rabiot also had another pretty bang average performance. But don’t worry, he will continue to play a full 90, folks. There’s that fact we can bank on. Carlos Alcaraz coming on in second-half stoppage time tells you all you need to know about how proactive Max Allegri was as this game went on. Alex Sandro coming in for the final portion of the game when things are scoreless gave me visions of some kind of defensive blunder that would have made us very angry. I’m guessing I’m not the only one. Torino attempted 34 crosses. They completed about 20% of them. Tells you all you need to know about how Allegri approached this one. Juventus played pretty well defensively and yet Torino still almost scored in stoppage time. If they had converted that chance after Juve played like they did in the second hlf, I can only imagine what the mood would have been like. I’m so tired of this season. Like, these last 2 1⁄2 months have been pretty awful. I think everybody around here is just ready for the summer to start. 17. Juventus Player Ratings vs Torino: Wasteful Vlahovic, Solid Bremer Juventus (3-5-2) Wojciech Szczesny – 6.5 Another well-deserved clean sheet for the Pole who denied Antonio Sanabria in the second half. He almost left the pitch in the final minutes with a bloody nose, but insisted on standing his ground. Federico Gatti – 6 The former Frosinone man found Vlahovic with a great cross early on, but his poor passing skills offered possession to Torino on several occasions. Did well overall at the back, and had seemed to get on Duvan Zapata’s nerves. Gleison Bremer – 7 A rock-solid display from the Brazilian against his former employers. He used his experience, strength, pace and at times gamesmanship to keep Zapata at bay. Danilo – 6 The Juventus captain made some important interventions at the back but kept his attacking forays very limited. Andrea Cambiaso – 6 ............ Weston McKennie – 6 ............ Manuel Locatelli – 6 ............ Adrien Rabiot – 5.5 A mediocre display by the Frenchman’s high standards. His passing wasn’t too sharp and was hesitant to shoot in the final minute. Filip Kostic – 5.5 The Serbian did fairly well to limit Raoul Bellanova’s threatening runs and crosses, but found little success when he went forward himself. Dusan Vlahovic – 5 The former Fiorentina star had two glorious chances from close range to put Juventus in the lead but hit the post on the first and was denied by Vanja Milinkovic-Savic on the second. He never truly had opportunities to make amends in the second period. Federico Chiesa – 6 The Italy star had his moments in the first half and deserved to have an assist to his name after putting Vlahovic through on goal. But he was left starving for the ball in the second half and left the pitch at the hour mark. Substitutes Samuel Iling-Junior – 5 A forgettable cameo for the young Englishman who allowed Bellanova to skip past him on one occasion and also lost the air duel against Valentino Lazzaro which almost resulted in a Torino winner. Kenan Yildiz – 6 The Turkish teenager looked dangerous whenever he had the ball at his feet and even produced the solitary Juventus shot on target in the second half. But like Chiesa, his teammates hardly provided him with the ball. Moise Kean – N/A Alex Sandro – N/A Carlos Alcaraz – N/A Read more -> https://cultofcalcio.com/juventus-player-ratings-vs-torino-wasteful-vlahovic-solid-bremer/
  18. Juventus plays out drab draw to drop more Serie A points Following their two wins in two games, Juventus started their derby against Torino with confidence, knowing they would achieve a three-game winning streak with a victory. Dusan Vlahovic latched onto the ball for the game’s first real chance, but the Serbian shot wide. Andrea Cambiaso then set up Manuel Locatelli to open the scoring, but he also could not find the target. Vlahovic had another chance to test the Torino goalkeeper, but Vanja Milinkovic-Savic saved well from his fellow countryman. That was better from the striker. ............ Torino had the ball in the back of the net immediately after the break, but it was ruled out for a foul. Il Toro seemed to have returned from the break with more confidence, and after a spell of both teams failing to create a meaningful chance, Wojciech Szczesny was forced into a stunning save by Antonio Sanabria. That could have been the opener. Max Allegri responded to that by bringing on Kenan Yildiz and Samuel Iling-Junior for Federico Chiesa and Filip Kostic. ............ Torino got close to scoring again through Mergim Vojvoda, but Szczesny was similarly on hand to make another superb save. At the other end of the pitch, Yildiz cut in from the left and released a powerful shot that was heading towards a goal, but Milinkovic-Savic made a world-class save to deny him. Allegri made some bold changes, removing Vlahovic and Gatti for Alex Sandro and Moise Kean. Can any of them be the hero tonight? Both teams kept threatening each other but were frustrated, as Szczesny went down following an elbow from a Torino player who wanted to head the ball, and the game was halted so that he could get treatment. ............
