Caratteristiche tecniche Di ruolo ala sinistra, Alajbegović è un calciatore ambidestro, tecnico, abile nel dribbling (giocata che effettua spesso) e nell'effettuare, anche grazie alla sua visione del gioco, assist ai propri compagni di squadra. Carriera Club Cresciuto nei settori giovanili di Colonia e Bayer Leverkusen, il 3 luglio 2025 è stato acquistato a titolo definitivo per 2 milioni di euro dal Salisburgo, club della prima divisione austriaca; ha esordito tra i professionisti (e contestualmente anche nelle competizioni UEFA per club) il 23 luglio seguente, nell'incontro dei turni preliminari di UEFA Champions League 2024-2025 vinto 4-1 contro i norvegesi del Brann. In finale la Bosnia ed Erzegovina affronta l'Italia: anche in questo caso Alajbegović subentra nella ripresa e fornisce una buona prestazione sul campo, per poi realizzare il proprio tiro dal dischetto durante i rigori, consentendo così ai bosniaci di qualificarsi ai Mondiali. Nella competizione iridata il 24 giugno segna il suo primo gol nel successo per 3-1 contro il Qatar nella terza giornata della fase a gironi, chiusa dalla Bosnia al terzo posto nel girone B.
