  1. Buffon: “Calciopoli? I have the medals, I know who was stronger” Gianluigi Buffon, the legendary former Juventus and Italy goalkeeper, recently gave an extensive interview to Juventibus, reflecting on his illustrious career and touching upon significant moments such as Serie B, Calciopoli, and more. ............ Reflecting on Juventus’ relegation, Buffon said: “Serie B was very special and beautiful. It was one of the reasons that led me to make a choice that conditioned my career. I was 28 years old; it was the best period for a professional goalkeeper. I did it because I felt it was the right choice.” On Calciopoli, Buffon stated: “I’ve always focused on what happened on the field. Those championships that were discussed, I lived as a protagonist with my teammates as the team to beat. I still have those medals; I smile at them because I know what happened on the field and who deserved it.” He described his feelings during the scandal: “For me, it was humiliating to be called into question. You can say anything about me; sometimes I do unusual things, but don’t touch certain aspects because you’re touching the wrong person.” ............ . 2. Juventus hopes Douglas Luiz will be fit for their next Champions League game Douglas Luiz’s injury layoff, stretching over 40 days, has been a troubling development for Juventus. Signed in the summer transfer window with high expectations, Luiz was heralded as one of the finest midfielders to emerge from the Premier League. The move to Turin was seen as a statement signing for the Bianconeri, with hopes that he would bring creativity, physicality, and control to the midfield. However, his journey has been far from smooth, with injuries and a lack of form defining his first few months in Italy. ............ Despite these setbacks, Juventus remains patient with Luiz. According to reports, the club has no intention of selling him during the January transfer window. This decision reflects their long-term faith in his potential and belief that he can turn his fortunes around once fit. However, Luiz is still not training with the group, casting doubt on his availability for the upcoming Serie A clash against Bologna. Juventus now aims to have him ready for the crucial Champions League encounter against Manchester City—a game with personal significance for Luiz, given his history at the English club. ............ . 3. Does Juventus regrets not making Conte their manager again? Juventus reportedly considered Antonio Conte for a managerial return in the summer but ultimately decided to appoint Thiago Motta, favouring a fresh approach over bringing back a former coach. Conte, who previously led the Bianconeri to great success, including multiple Scudetti, was seen as a natural choice by many fans and analysts. However, Juventus’s recent experiences with Max Allegri’s second stint, which ended in underwhelming results, likely influenced their reluctance to rehire Conte. Conte, after not receiving a call from Juventus, joined Napoli and has since turned the Partenopei into serious title contenders, further highlighting his managerial prowess. Napoli’s success under Conte has sparked debate among pundits, with some suggesting Juventus may regret their decision. Massimo Brambati hinted at this sentiment, emphasising Conte’s ability to instil a winning mentality in his teams. He remarked, “Conte is an added value, both on the field and in the group. Napoli hasn’t grown in the game but in group mentality. This makes the difference, that stuff is transmitted to you by the coach and you carry it with you.” ............ Despite Conte’s proven track record, Juventus opted for Thiago Motta, an emerging managerial talent with a different style and vision. The decision likely reflects the club’s desire to chart a new course. ............ . Read more -> https://www.juvefc.com/does-juventus-regrets-not-making-conte-their-manager-again/
  4. Thiago Motta could recover two players before the Bologna game Juventus prepares to face Bologna this weekend as they push to recover momentum in what has been a challenging season so far. The Bianconeri have grappled with an unusually high number of injuries, leaving the team significantly weakened at key moments. Missing as many as nine critical players during their last outing against Lecce, Juventus struggled to secure a win, but there is optimism heading into their next fixture. Juventus may receive a significant boost with the potential return of Dusan Vlahovic and Vasilije Adžić for the Bologna clash. The return of these players could offer much-needed reinforcement for a squad that has been stretched thin. Vlahovic’s presence in particular would bolster Juve’s attacking options, addressing a critical need for more firepower as they aim to secure three crucial points. ............ The stakes are high for Juventus, which cannot afford to drop more points if it hopes to remain in contention near the top of the Serie A standings. ............ . 5.
  10. Adani on Juventus: “Thiago Motta should be compared to Allegri’s first year….” Lele Adani has shared his perspective on the transition at Juventus from Massimiliano Allegri to Thiago Motta, emphasizing the need for fair comparisons between their respective tenures. Adani stated, “I am not interested in making comparisons, but if others make comparisons, I have to say my piece.” ............ Adani further elaborated, “Thiago Motta in his first year will be compared to the first year of Allegri’s three-year term and not to the third. Forgive me, but why should he be compared to the third year when one has three years of work and Thiago Motta is in his first year?” He pointed out that Motta should be assessed based on his initial season at Juventus, similar to how Allegri was evaluated during his return. ............ “What did they do? Let me tell you: in the 2021/2022 season, after the first 14 matchdays, Juventus had 21 points in the standings and now has 26; goals scored 18 and now 22; goals conceded 16 and now 8. That’s all, just to be precise.” . Read more -> https://www.footitalia.com/adani-on-juventus-thiago-motta-should-be-compared-to-allegris-first-year/
  11. Why Juventus will sell Fagioli in January Nicolò Fagioli is struggling with playing time at Juventus, so the Bianconeri will sell the Italian midfielder in the January transfer window. ............ After five months in charge of the Old Lady, coach Thiago Motta is not entirely convinced about the Italian midfielder, who has been struggling for playing time in recent weeks. Fagioli has provided one assist in 15 appearances this term but collected just 683 minutes of football on the pitch. Fagioli is unhappy with his status in Turin, while Motta hasn’t seen enough improvements from the 23-year-old. ............ According to the report, Motta isn’t even happy with the midfielder’s performances and attitude when he’s introduced as a substitute from the bench. ............ PSG, Marseille, and Napoli are interested in the Italian midfielder even if the Partenopei haven’t yet contacted the Bianconeri. . 12. Key Juventus star targets a new date to return to action Dusan Vlahovic has been notably absent from Juventus’s lineup in their last three matches, and his absence has left the Bianconeri struggling to find a suitable replacement upfront. The Serbian striker’s importance to the team was clear from the start of the season, with Juve recognising the challenges they would face if he were sidelined. As their only recognised striker, his injury has significantly impacted their attacking options. Adding to their woes, Juventus has also been without Arkadiusz Milik, who has remained out of action since last summer. ............ . Vlahovic could make his comeback in Juventus’s upcoming match against Bologna. The report indicates that he is expected to participate in at least three days of full training with the squad this week. Should he complete these sessions without any setbacks, he will likely be included in the team to face Bologna, a fixture that carries additional intrigue as Thiago Motta prepares to take on his former side. ............ . 13. Journalist insists it is too early to say Motta’s honeymoon at Juventus is over Thiago Motta’s tenure at Juventus began with a promising start, but in recent weeks, the team has struggled to secure wins. While they have managed to avoid defeats, most of their results have been draws, which has kept them stagnant in the standings and allowed other teams to overtake them. This trend has led many to believe that the team is still adjusting to their new manager and the changes he has implemented. Defensively, Juventus has been solid, maintaining a number of clean sheets despite the absence of key players like Gleison Bremer. Motta’s adjustments at the back have certainly had a positive impact, but it is in midfield and attack where the team has underperformed. ............ Despite these challenges, journalist Gianni Balzarini believes it is too soon to say that Motta’s honeymoon period is over. In an interview, Balzarini stated, “If you then want to blame the coach for the purchase of a player like Nico Gonzalez who has been injured for some time, it is wrong because he was not the one who hired the former Viola player. The club was aware of the history of the former Fiorentina player with respect to physical problems. Instead, if we want to talk about Douglas Luiz, we can shift the focus to Motta. I remember that the coach himself, when the Brazilian arrived, said that he was an ideal element with respect to his need to have versatile players. It seems to me that the midfielder disappointed him in this respect. But to speak of a ruined honeymoon is, frankly, too early.” ............ . 14. Man Utd may have closed the door on selling Juventus target in January Joshua Zirkzee’s move to Manchester United initially seemed like a misstep for both the player and the club, as the Dutch striker struggled to adapt to life in Manchester. After excelling at Bologna last season, Zirkzee was widely expected to reunite with Thiago Motta at Juventus. However, United won the race for his signature, and his early performances raised doubts about whether he was suited to their system. ............ However, United’s managerial change has reshaped the situation. Under new boss Ruben Amorim, Zirkzee has shown signs of resurgence, scoring twice in his most recent match. This newfound form may lead United to reconsider their plans, making it increasingly unlikely that Zirkzee will be available for a January move. If the Dutch forward continues to impress, United will likely retain him, forcing Juventus to look elsewhere for attacking reinforcements. For Juventus, Zirkzee’s previous success with Motta at Bologna made him a compelling option to strengthen their forward line. His familiarity with the coach’s system could have provided an immediate boost to their attack. ............ . 15. Juventus Director Giuntoli: “Antonio Silva is an Interesting player…..” Cristiano Giuntoli, the Football Director of Juventus, recently shared insights regarding the club’s current situation and future plans during the Gran Galà del Calcio AIC event. ............ Reflecting on the ongoing season, Giuntoli remarked, “This is a particular year for us. We have many absences, and we are relying on the qualities of our group. Our declared goal is to finish in the top four. We are aiming for a different style of play. Paradoxically, despite everything, we are content.” On the upcoming January transfer window, Giuntoli expressed interest in Benfica’s Antonio Silva, stating, “Antonio Silva is an interesting player among others. In January, no one shows their cards; we need to be careful and vigilant.” This indicates that Juventus is actively considering bolstering their squad with new talent. ............ . 16. Juventus snub Koulibaly and push for Antonio Silva Reports in Italy suggest Juventus have been offered ex-Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly, but the Bianconeri would get a younger centre-back instead, especially Benfica’s Antonio Silva. ............ The 33-year-old is under contract with Al-Hilal but reportedly seeks an escape route from the Saudi club through his agent, Fali Ramadani. Juventus, however, don’t seem interested in the veteran defender and would rather get a younger player to replace Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal. Benfica’s Antonio Silva, 21, is among the Bianconeri’s priorities, even if the Portuguese club are unwilling to discuss an initial loan deal. The defender’s agent, Jorge Mendes, will continue pushing to complete the transfer, but the two clubs are far from reaching an agreement at this stage. ............ The Bianconeri also monitor David Hancko. Giuntoli scouted the ex-Fiorentina defender during a Champions League game against Manchester City last week, in which the 26-year-old scored a late equaliser. . 17. Journalist insists Juventus is not yet at the level of the other top clubs in Serie A Although Juventus made managerial changes and secured new signings during the summer, expectations remain high for the Bianconeri to contend for the Serie A title. As the most decorated club in Italian football, Juve is accustomed to competing for honours every season, regardless of the challenges they face. Despite the team’s efforts and an unbeaten record in Serie A so far, their campaign has been far from dominant, with many matches ending in draws rather than victories. ............ Journalist Carlo Tarallo has been closely observing the Serie A title race and believes Juventus lacks the quality of their main rivals. Tarallo remarked: “Yes, Juve is not at the level of the other big teams. Motta is trying to compensate for the difficulties with tactical experiments, but the absence of a real striker is felt. Vlahović, for example, is disappointing expectations, and we could say the same about Lukaku, at least until recently. But now Lukaku is changing pace, and this gives us hope for the future. Then the Belgian takes part in the manoeuvre, so he is much more incisive than his Juventus colleague.” ............ . 18. Koopmeiners: “I want to contribute more to Juventus” Teun Koopmeiners, the midfielder for Juventus, spoke to Sky during the Gran Galà del Calcio event, sharing his thoughts on the team’s performance and his personal goals. Reflecting on the team’s current form, Koopmeiners stated, “We defend well, but we are Juventus, and we need to attack. I also need to do better. We have learned a lot in the early matches, and we are on the right path. We always want to earn three points, and I have confidence that beautiful moments will come.” Koopmeiners expressed his commitment to the club and its supporters: “I want to do everything for this city and these fans. It has been a dream for me to arrive here, and I want to help everyone as much as I can.” ............ Addressing the need for growth within the team, he added, “We need to grow as a group. I play a bit differently now than before, but I’m not worried. I have confidence.” . Read more -> https://www.footitalia.com/koopmeiners-i-want-to-contribute-more-to-juventus/

  20. Pavan says Juventus had no one to turn to on the bench against Lecce Juventus came agonisingly close to returning to winning ways in their match against Lecce, only for their opponents to score a late equaliser. This left the Old Lady with yet another frustrating draw. The Bianconeri, still grappling with injuries, played the match without a recognised striker, making it even more challenging to secure a decisive victory. Despite their limitations, Juventus worked hard and managed to take the lead, a testament to their resilience and determination. As the match progressed, it seemed likely that Juventus would walk away with all three points. However, the lack of depth on their bench became glaringly obvious. The substitutes who entered the game were unable to make a meaningful impact, and Lecce exploited this vulnerability to score late in the match. ............ To regain their dominance, it is crucial that their injured players return to action, providing stronger options for rotation and tactical changes. Without sufficient quality in the squad, matches like these—where tactical adjustments and fresh legs can make the difference—will continue to slip away. Massimo Pavan, an Italian journalist, reflected on the match and criticised the lack of quality options on the Juventus bench. He said: “On Sunday, I saw a team that needed changes in the second half but didn’t have any. The real points lost through fault were with Parma; in Lecce, there was fault but mitigated by the circumstances. With Cagliari instead, there were episodes and an inadequate referee.” ............ Stronger reinforcements might have turned matches like these into victories, but until such issues are resolved, the Bianconeri risk continued disappointment. . 21.
  22. The standout stats from Lecce draw: Juventus break record 68-year-old record At the Via del Mare, Juventus failed to return to winning ways, settling for a 1-1 draw against their hosts Lecce. ............ The official Juventus website provided us with the most interesting stats and facts recorded in the aftermath of the contest. We begin with the most significant one, as the Bianconeri ended up breaking a club record that stood since 1956 when the club registered 17 draws in Serie A. While 2024 has yet to draw to a close, Juve have already shared the spoils on 18 occasions this year, setting up a new undesired club record shared by Max Allegri, Paolo Montero and Thiago Motta. On another note, Cambiaso scored his first away goal in the top flight. ............ Juventus are sixth in the Serie A standings with six wins and eight draws. Nevertheless, they remain among three clubs in Europe’s Top Five Leagues who have yet to suffer defeat on the domestic stage. The other two are Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain who sit on top of the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 table respectively. This season, only Cagliari have hit the woodwork more than Juventus. The Sardinians were denied by the post on 10 occasions, one more than the Bianconeri and Roma. . 23. Juventus midfielder on Lecce draw: “Zero alibis, zero excuses” Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli insists Juventus cannot hide behind any excuses following their disappointing draw in Lecce. With nine first-team players ruled out with various injuries, the Bianconeri traveled south with a depleted squad. Hence, Thiago Motta gave call-ups for five youngsters from the club’s Next Gen and Primavera squads their maiden senior call-ups, and one of them, Diego Pugno, earned his debut, coming on late in the match for Francisco Conceicao. Juventus were the better side in the first half, but the hosts held firm until the second period, when Andrea Cambiaso’s shot was deflected by Kialonda Gaspar who wrongfooted Wladimiro Falcone. However, the Juventus fullback turned from hero to villain, as he ill-advisedly tried to dribble past several opponents in the middle of the park with just one minute on the clock. The Italy international was dispossessed and the play culminated with Ante Rebic scoring an equalizer to earn the Giallorossi a precious point. ............ But while many would point towards the injury crisis and the packed schedule to justify the current skid, Locatelli refuses to offer any alibi. The Juventus stalwart simply believes that the team must do better. ” Zero alibis and zero excuses, we need to do more. We remain united and convinced of the work we do! Until the end,” this was the message that the former Sassuolo man tried to convey to his teammates on his Instagram account. ............ .
