JUVENTUS - FROSINONE - MATCHDAY 5 Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee: Angelo Cervellera Line-ups: Juventus-Frosinone http://www.football-italia.net/73388/line-ups-juventus-frosinone? Sep 23, 2015 Juventus give Simone Zaza his first start with Paulo Dybala as they host Serie A absolute beginners Frosinone. It kicks off at 20.45 CET. The Bianconeri have been stuttering so far this season, able to beat Manchester City away in the Champions League and struggle in Serie A against minnows. Max Allegri has an injury crisis on his hands and the need to rotate ahead of Saturday’s huge trip to Napoli. He’s without Mario Mandzukic, Alvaro Morata, Claudio Marchisio, Sami Khedira and Kwadwo Asamoah. Zaza therefore gets his first start in a Juventus jersey, partnered by Dybala with support from Roberto Pereyra, Paul Pogba and Mario Lemina. Gigi Buffon and Hernanes are among those rested, so Norberto Neto gets a rare outing. Frosinone are without a single point after four rounds and their historic first ever Serie A season is not going to plan. Coach Roberto Stellone said this week he was tired of getting compliments and no points, so it was “time to win ugly.” Daniel Ciofani leads the attack with Chile international Nicolas Castillo, while goalkeeper Nicola Leali is on loan from Juventus. Frosinone Coach Roberto Stellone scored on his Serie A debut for Napoli against Juventus, but has never beaten them as a player with just one draw from five meetings. Juventus: Neto; Lichtsteiner, Barzagli, Bonucci, Alex Sandro; Sturaro, Lemina, Pogba; Cuadrado, Zaza, Pereyra Frosinone: Leali; M Ciofani, Blanchard, Diakite, Crivello; Gori, Soddimo, Chibsah, Frara; D Ciofani, Castillo http://www.goal.com/en-gb/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=SP_TN_127

Gerardo Martino picks Paulo Dybala over Gonzalo Higuain for Argentina http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/argentina/news/martino-snubs-higuain-for-argentina_248054.html#$nv599q&&zG/1rmImEeW1iRLtOWifaQ$ Sep 23, 2015 Gerardo Martino has snubbed Gonzalo Higuain and replaced him with Juventus youngster Paulo Dybala for Argentina's upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay. The Napoli forward is currently in fine form for his club, scoring four goals in as many games, while netting a brace in their 5-0 thrashing of Lazio on Monday evening. However, Martino is overlooking the 27-year-old in favour of Juve's young starlet Dybala, who has scored twice since making his move from Palermo, according to Goal.com. Paris Saint-Germain pair Angel di Maria and Javier Pastore both missed friendlies alongside Higuain earlier this month against Bolovia and Mexico, but both are in the 28-strong squad. Full squad: Goalkeepers: Nahuel Guzman, Agustin Marchesin, Sergio Romero Defenders: Milton Casco, Martin Demichelis, Ramires Funi Mori, Ezequiel Garay, Emmanuel Mas, Nicolas Otamendi, Marcos Rojo, Facundo Roncaglia, Pablo Zabaleta Midfielders: Ever Banega, Lucas Biglia, Matias Kranevitter, Javier Mascherano, Javier Pastore, Roberto Pereyra, Enzo Perez. Forwards: Sergio Aguero, Angel Correa, Angel Di Maria, Paulo Dybala, Nicolas Gaitan, Ezequiel Lavezzi, Lionel Messi, Carlos Tevez

JUVENTUS - FROSINONE - MATCHDAY 5 Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee: Angelo Cervellera Dybala dropped by Juve? http://www.football-italia.net/73379/dybala-dropped-juve? Sep 23, 2015 It’s reported Simone Zaza and Juan Cuadrado will start for Juventus against Frosinone tonight, dropping Paulo Dybala. It kicks off at the Juventus Stadium at 20.45 CET. Max Allegri has an injury crisis on his hands, missing Alvaro Morata, Mario Mandzukic, Claudio Marchisio, Sami Khedira and Kwadwo Asamoah. He also needs to rest some big names ahead of Saturday’s trip to on-form Napoli. The Coach already confirmed Norberto Neto will take over from Gigi Buffon in goal tonight, while Alex Sandro is expected to start instead of Patrice Evra. It had been assumed the absence of forwards would prompt Dybala to be in the initial XI, but the latest rumours suggest he’ll be on the bench. In order to maintain the 4-3-3 system for a third consecutive outing, Zaza gets his first start with Cuadrado and Roberto Pereyra. As for the midfield, Hernanes and Paul Pogba should play with Stefano Sturaro stepping in for Mario Lemina. Juventus (probable): Neto; Lichtsteiner, Bonucci, Barzagli, Alex Sandro; Sturaro, Hernanes, Pogba; Cuadrado, Zaza, Pereyra Frosinone (probable): Leali; Rosi, Diakite, Blanchard, Crivello; Tonev, Gori, Chibsah, Soddimo; D Ciofani, Dionisi http://www.goal.com/en-gb/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=SP_TN_127

Khedira: ‘Back soon for Juventus' http://www.football-italia.net/73376/khedira-%E2%80%98back-soon-juventus? Sep 23, 2015 Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira says he’ll return to training with his teammates “soon”. The German international has not featured for the Bianconeri since tearing a thigh muscle in pre-season. “Training completed,” Khedira posted on Instagram, along with a picture of himself at Vinovo. “I’m back with the team soon.” Khedira has yet to make his competitive debut for the Old Lady since joining on a free transfer from Real Madrid this summer. The 28-year-old lifted the World Cup with his country last season, and has also won La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League.

JUVENTUS - FROSINONE - MATCHDAY 5 Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee: Angelo Cervellera Rossi: ‘Harder for Juventus’ http://www.football-italia.net/73370/rossi-%E2%80%98harder-juventus%E2%80%99? Sep 23, 2015 Paolo Rossi believes Juventus will “have to work harder” but it’s still too early to see the Scudetto picture. The former striker, who celebrates his 59th birthday today, spoke to Radio Deejay about this season’s title contenders. “I think it’s too early to say who will win the title,” the 1982 World Cup-winner opined. “We’ll have to wait until at least Week 10 to have a clearer picture of the situation. The early rounds are used to settle. “Of course, Juventus will have to work harder, because so much has changed and they don’t have three champions like Pirlo, Tevez and Vidal anymore, while Inter and Roma have started well and are getting better. “Don’t forget, however, that Napoli are now improving after a difficult start.” http://www.goal.com/en-gb/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=SP_TN_127

JUVENTUS - FROSINONE - MATCHDAY 5 Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee: Angelo Cervellera Frosinone stir Juventus memories Adam Digby recalls the last time Frosinone made the daunting trip to Turin, in very different circumstances. http://www.football-italia.net/73369/frosinone-stir-juventus-memories? Sep 23, 2015 Newly promoted Frosinone travel to Juventus Stadium this week, the tiny club from just south of Rome making the first of some truly special away trips in their maiden Serie A campaign. Yet to taste victory in the top flight, they take on a team now buoyed by impressive wins over Manchester City and Genoa, bouncing back after making their worst start to a season in many years. That they enter this encounter so soon after a major Champions League clash stands in stark contrast with the last time Frosinone visited Turin to take on the Bianconeri however. That came in October 2006, and pitted them against a Juventus side still reeling from being demoted to the second tier as punishment for their role in the Calciopoli scandal. Yet despite the bitter circumstances, that afternoon would take on huge significance for the fallen giants, becoming a part of club folklore and providing happy memories for supporters forced to endure that harsh new reality. Fuelled by a desire for retribution, the Old Lady had won her previous six matches thanks to some superb performances from those players who had chosen to stay and help restore her honour. Known as the Five Samurai, Gigi Buffon, Mauro Camoranesi, Alessandro Del Piero, Pavel Nedved and David Trezeguet all opted not to leave, and that saw them portrayed as proud warriors. Against Frosinone they would need that fighting spirit too, struggling for over an hour to break down a resilient opponent, forcing then-Coach Didier Deschamps to turn to his bench for answers. The man he turned to was none other than Del Piero, left out of the starting XI after a string of subpar performances and desperately in need of a goal to restore his own ailing confidence. Less than fifteen minutes later he would get his chance, Nedved striking a vicious effort from outside the box that rebounded off the frame of the goal and hit Trezeguet, somehow falling perfectly for the club captain. In one movement, he swivelled and fired a first time shot into the back of the net, registering what would be the 200th goal of his career in emphatic fashion. But the game was far from over, and neither were those lasting memories as, on two separate occasions, Buffon was forced to make typically brilliant saves to ensure Juventus secured victory. Then, as the match petered out, Deschamps would replace Trezeguet with a relatively unknown young midfielder who would go on to become a fantastic player in his own right. Wearing an ill-fitting no.15 shirt, Claudio Marchisio come on to make his league debut, ensuring that Wednesday’s evening’s matchup is one laden heavily with nostalgia. Del Piero said that his landmark goal “meant a lot, for my ties to this club, these fans and this city,” but he could just as easily have been referring to Juventus vs. Frosinone, a truly special match for anyone who appreciates the rich history of Turin’s grand OId Lady. http://www.goal.com/en-gb/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=SP_TN_127

Paul Pogba Agent Hits Back at Sir Alex Ferguson http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2571042-manchester-united-transfer-news-paul-pogba-agent-hits-back-at-sir-alex-ferguson? Sep 23, 2015 Mino Raiola, the agent of Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, has criticised former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson over quotes made regarding the Frenchman’s move from Old Trafford to Turin. As reported by Chisanga Malata of the Daily Star, in Ferguson’s new autobiography, Leading, he claims Raiola was the reason behind Pogba leaving United. But Raiola has hit back, insisting Ferguson got it wrong with the young midfielder and still hasn’t seen the bigger picture: Those words don't describe my job in a negative way. I rate them as a proof that I work well. I have to do my best for my players' sake. If I looked only at my immediate gain, I would have kept Pogba in Manchester. But I put Pogba's interests first, and we decided to go to Turin. Maybe Ferguson only likes those who obey him. From his quotes, I understand that Ferguson still doesn't understand who Pogba is. Ferguson was an excellent manager, but the greatest managers may be wrong sometimes. Pogba left United in 2012 in search of regular football, and at Juventus, he has grown into one of the very best young players in the world. For a United team which had previously struggled in the central midfield areas, not integrating the youngster into the side is counted among Ferguson’s biggest mistakes in his managerial career. Now, Pogba is reportedly hot property, with some of the biggest names in European football linked with a move for the Frenchman, per Ben Grounds of the MailOnline. For the player, moving to Juventus has been undeniably the right decision. He was given a chance by former boss Antonio Conte, has learned so much from playing alongside the likes of Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal and Claudio Marchisio and, now, seems ready to become the Bianconeri’s talisman. After a tough start to the season, Pogba has burst into life in recent weeks. As noted by FourFourTwo’s Adam Digby (via SiriusXM FC), a virtuoso display to help Juventus beat Manchester City in the Champions League gave us a reminder of his talent: SiriusXM FC @SiriusXMFC Pogba has been poor to start the year. Last night he transformed to the 100 million pound player we were talking about this summer. For the first season in a while, United probably aren’t lamenting the departure of Pogba too much. Indeed, in central midfield, the team is looking very strong, with the summer signings of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin adding to players such as Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini. Schweinsteiger has been particularly impressive since signing for the Red Devils. Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News recently regretted United not trying to get him on board earlier in his career: Samuel Luckhurst ✔ @samuelluckhurst Only regret for #mufc with Schweinsteiger is, like with Van der Sar, they didn't sign him five or six years earlier. Still world-class. Further down the line, when Pogba does realise his potential and become a world-class operator, there will be regrets from United about not keeping him on board. But players do sometimes need a change of scenery to galvanise themselves, especially if things just aren’t clicking with their current club. Raiola will play a key role in Pogba’s development going forward. The agent can come across as a little abrasive on occasion, yet it’s impossible to criticise him for getting the youngster out of Old Trafford when he did when looking at how he has since developed. Hopefully, for Pogba’s sake, Raiola continues to make similarly considered decisions.

Juventus striker Paulo Dybala called up to Argentina national team for the first time http://www.blackwhitereadallover.com/2015/9/23/9374913/juventus-striker-paulo-dybala-called-up-to-argentina-national-team Sep 23, 2015 We're a week and a half removed from the last international break and we already have news pertaining to the next one. It's an interesting one at that — a player who is full of talent but hasn't been playing the kind of minutes you would expect to merit a call-up to one of the deepest and most gift group of strikers currently in the game today. But, even with just one Serie A start under his belt this season, Juventus striker Paulo Dybala has been called up to the Argentina national team for the first time when they face Paraguay and Ecuador during the next international break. They just had to put Dybala next to Tévez, didn't they? At least Paulo has better hair and his boyish good looks going for him. And I can't wait to see if this "Lionel Messi" fella can develop into something special. Rumor has it he has the ability to score a goal or two. Maybe even break the ankles of a defender at the same time. That said, it is a bit odd timing-wise knowing that Dybala hasn't exactly played all that much to begin the season. He's played well when he has played, but he just hasn't played very many minutes compared to Juventus' other talented strikers like Álvaro Morata and Mario Mandzukic. Maybe the skeptic in all of us will say that there's some kind of ulterior motive based on things that have happened in the past six or eight months. How much of this is actual fact we might not know, but Dybala was certainly eligible to play for Italy because of ancestry. That won't happen now, and Dybala will likely make his Argentina debut sooner rather than later. He will get to play alongside players he has idolized while growing up and then making the voyage to Italy to see his career grown into what it is this very day. And based on the amount of talent he has in his 21-year-old body, this won't be the last time that Dybala is called up to the Argentina national team. Nah, this could be the start of something really, really good. Hopefully it's just the same as when he's wearing the black and white stripes, not just the light blue ones.

Paul Pogba Perfectly Replaces Pirlo As usual, the summer transfer market brought up a lot of questions come deadline day, with clubs and fans either feeling confident of the season ahead or wondering what the next move would be. http://forzaitalianfootball.com/2015/09/juventus-club-focus-paul-pogba-perfectly-replaces-pirlo/? Sep 23, 2015 Juventus fell into the latter of the two categories, after the losses of Carlos Tevez, Arturo Vidal and most notably Andrea Pirlo. They brought in Hernanes from rivals Inter in an attempt to re-strengthen the midfield but fans had doubts once he signed. Massimiliano Allegri didn’t give him much of an appearance against Genoa on Sunday afternoon as he came on with about 15 minutes to play to substitute young debutant Mario Lemina, to whom an honourable mention should go to after his impressive start in a Bianconeri shirt. The main man of the 90 minutes, though, was Paul Pogba. The Frenchman was named from the start in midfield and made the space left behind by Pirlo in the middle of the park look so small it was practically non-existent. Although not a convincing display by the reigning Serie A champions, a 2-0 win came courtesy of an own goal and a penalty, meaning they left with what they so desperately wanted and needed after a stuttering start to the season. They have Pogba to thank for the victory at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. Firstly, the 22-year-old had a vital part to play in both goals, with the first coming through a shot of his which rebounded off the crossbar onto the Genoa keeper and into the net, and the second through a penalty he scored. Secondly, overall, he has adapted very well to his role in midfield. His general relaxed nature can be seen in his penalty take; although Genoa are not the fiercest of rivals, a normal player would feel nerves when stepping up to the spot in a league game, especially given the team’s results over the past weeks. Pogba, however, calmly fired the ball home from 12 yards with a high level of swagger and low level of speed. That secured the points, it secured their first victory of the campaign and secured the belief that they could actually record a historic fifth-straight Scudetto this term. The former Manchester United man had gone down with flu and recovered just in time for kick-off, but any after effects were not noticeable. He seemed confident on the ball and wasn’t afraid to try his luck from range from a set piece. Perhaps too confident was Pogba, however, as he did lose possession on one occasion on the edge of his own penalty area which allowed a Diego Perotti cross, but fortunately nothing came of it. Provided that silly mistakes like that are not a regular occurrence throughout the season, all current worries about the absence of the bearded master Pirlo will soon be washed away and, come the middle of May next year, a new season-winning name will be on everybody’s lips.

JUVENTUS - FROSINONE - MATCHDAY 5 Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee: Angelo Cervellera Juventus vs. Frosinone Preview: Round 5 — The more (wins) the merrier http://www.blackwhitereadallover.com/2015/9/22/9362045/juventus-frosinone-2015-serie-a-round-5-preview-team-news-schedule Sep 22, 2015 Juventus can now say they have as many wins in Italy as they do in Europe this season. They have twice as many wins on the season than they did a week ago. It's what we like to call progress, no matter how the team has struggled to truly show their true potential through their first four league games. Congrats, guys! Time to celebrate! But you want to hear something that's worse than Juventus' start to the season? Frosinone's start to the 2015-16 season. Yeah, it can get worse. Probably a little more frustrating and/or disappointing, too. This kind of worse/disappointing/whatever you wanna call it: Four games played. Four losses. One goal scored. Seven goals allowed. That's ... yeah, that's not very good at all. There is only one team in all of Serie A not to have a point so far this season, and Frosinone is that team. For a newly-promoted side to struggle right out of the chute like Frosinone has, it certainly doesn't bode well for their likely battle to stave off relegation and make sure their future in Italy's top flight is more than just a brief one-season stay. For a team like Juventus to be so-so in the first four games is one thing, but for a club destined to be in a relegation battle all season is a completely different scenario. And no offense to Frosinone, but I would like it to stay that way. At least for one more round of Serie A action. Now that Juventus have gotten their first Serie A win out of the way over the weekend against Genoa, now it's time for Serie A win No. 2. And it couldn't have been set up any better for Juve when it comes to a midweek game. You get the first win out of the way, then you get to face the one squad in Serie A that has yet to pick up one measly point. So if Juventus want to make another jump in the table and keep pace with the leaders at the very least, playing the last-place team on your home field is a pretty good scenario. Now it's just about, you know, not screwing the whole thing up. Hey, maybe they can do the same thing they did the last time they played Frosinone back in the Serie B season. I would be okay with that. (I think you may recognize the guy who scored the game-winning goal. He did that a few times during his career with Juventus.) GOOD NEWS Juventus got a win in Serie A! Isn't that wonderful?! All the way up to 13th, too! BAD NEWS If you're injured and you know it raise your hand. Roll call time... Claudio Marchisio Sami Khedira Kwadwo Asamoah Martin Cáceres Mario Mandzukic Álvaro Morata I repeat, injuries are stupid and I've never liked them one bit. Nor will I ever, for that matter. WHAT TO WATCH FOR 1. Midweek squad rotation. I'm not saying that Max Allegri will change things all around like it was a Coppa Italia game, but there's bound to be a few changes from the side that beat Genoa on Sunday. We know the strikers will be different with Mandzukic set to miss the next three weeks with a thigh injury and Morata not called up. There will be a few players returning to the starting lineup — most notably Leonardo Bonucci and Hernanes —in all likelihood after both started from the bench against Genoa. But who else might be making way for a change is pretty much a wait-and-see deal. Could Daniele Rugani get some playing time? I'd be all for it. Maybe Mario Lemina will get a second straight start after his solid Juve debut this past weekend. Or maybe Simone Zaza gets his first Juventus start because of the other striker injuries. A bottom-of-the-table opponent teamed with a midweek game during a busy portion of the schedule certainly seems to point toward at least some changes in the starting lineup. JuventusFC ✔ @juventusfcen .@OfficialAllegri: "I've got plenty of options for #JuveFrosinone and could also rest a few players." 2. Paulo Dybala's impact. It's time for the kid to play. And it's time for the kid to play consistently. The injury to Mandzukic should open up a spot for Dybala to step into the starting lineup no matter what formation Allegri decides to go with. Despite starting just one Serie A game this season, Dybala leads the team with two goals and has largely impressed whenever he has seen actually game time. No matter if it's a 4-3-3, 4-3-1-2 or 3-5-2 formation, Dybala's creativity will be a welcome addition to an attack that is still searching to truly find its early-season groove as the beginning of October quickly approaches. The bad thing is that Mandzukic is out injured. Another bad thing is that Morata is out injured, too. The good thing out of a couple of bad things is that we're likely to see more Dybala in the starting lineup because of it. Hey, you win some, you lose some. Maybe this is a break even kind of deal. 3. Alex Sandro's impact. I take you back to Allegri's pre-match press conference over the week. The quote below will mean something. JuventusFC ✔ @juventusfcen .@OfficialAllegri: "#AlexSandro is available and will start either tomorrow or Wednesday." So, Alex Sandro didn't start — or play, for that matter — against Genoa on Sunday, so by this line of thinking he will be playing on Wednesday. I don't think Allegri will balk at what he said he would do mainly because the other option he has at left back is 34 years old and has just played i back-to-back games. On top of that, this is the perfect chance to let Alex Sandro loose in a low-pressure kind of matchup where Juventus will be huge favorites to get all three points. Not to say that the Brazilian fullback couldn't step in against better competition right now, but Allegri clearly prefers Evra in games of bigger magnitude to start the season. I can understand that. Based on how well he played in his debut, I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to see what Alex Sandro can do the same in his second Juventus appearance. So you better stick your word, Max, or else we might need to talk about this whole "gong on the record" about certain things. 4. How Neto handles his first Juventus start. I bring this up because this was one of the first things Allegri said at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday. JuventusFC ✔ @juventusfcen .@OfficialAllegri: "@Neto_Murara will start #JuveFrosinone in place of @gianluigibuffon." So much for that Nicola Leali vs. Gigi Buffon battle in goal some of us were thinking about. Instead, it will be young goalkeeper vs. young goalkeeper; one goalkeeper who is currently at Juventus vs. one goalkeeper who certainly wants to play for Juventus in the near future. Neto will be the latest summer signing to make his debut after Buffon appeared in every game so far this season. The last time we saw Neto was during Juve's preseason friendlies when he played rather well despite the limited playing time. And the last time the Brazilian goalkeeper appeared in an official game was back when he was wearing a Fiorentina keeper jersey rather than a Juventus one. Surely he'll want to impress on his full debut. Hopefully he won't have to make many saves, though. My starting XI (4-3-1-2) Neto; Stephan Lichtsteiner, Daniele Rugani, Leonardo Bonucci, Alex Sandro; Stefano Sturaro, Mario Lemina, Paul Pogba; Hernanes; Paulo Dybala, Simone Zaza http://www.goal.com/en-gb/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=SP_TN_127

Chelsea Transfer News: Latest Juan Cuadrado, Paul Pogba Rumours http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2570716-chelsea-transfer-news-latest-juan-cuadrado-paul-pogba-christian-atsu-rumours? Sep 22, 2015 Juventus are already planning to make the loan deal for Juan Cuadrado permanent at the end of the season, with Chelsea looking to use the transfer flop to leverage a deal for star midfielder Paul Pogba. That's according to the London Evening Standard's Simon Johnson, who notes the Colombia international has adapted to his new surrounding quickly and already looks like a fantastic fit with the Italian champions. Johnson believes the Bianconeri have the option to make the move permanent at the end of the season, although there is some confusion. According to La giornalaccio rosa dello Sport (h/t Football Italia), the option is actually a “gentlemen's agreement,” requiring all parties involved to agree on a €22 million fee. Cuadrado endured a nightmare spell at Stamford Bridge after completing a permanent move from Fiorentina in February, leading to a loan move back to Serie A this summer. At Juventus, he has quickly established himself as one of the team's top playmakers, whether it's as a winger or a classic No. 10. His transformation from Chelsea flop to Juventus hero has been more than just a little unexpected, and the British media took note when Juventus beat Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in the Champions League. Oliver Holt of the Daily Mail was impressed: Oliver Holt ✔ @OllieHolt22 Cuadrado unrecognisable from player he was at Chelsea. Bright, ambitious, sharp. Looks like he has his confidence back. Mind you, the surprise was just as big for the Italian media. As shared by David Amoyal, a translator for Gianluca Di Marzio, they barely paid any attention to the loan move when it was first announced: David Amoyal @DavidAmoyal Cuadrado brings a dimension Juve has been lacking for years, he was a complete afterthought for most when Juve signed him too The 27-year-old seems happy and liberated in Turin, and as things stand, it's almost a certainty both Juventus and Chelsea will do everything they can to make the move permanent. The Bianconeri don't want to lose Cuadrado, and Chelsea want to recoup as much of their initial investment as possible―unless a deal for Pogba becomes a possibility. Pogba hasn't had the greatest start to the season, which was to be expected after the departures of Andrea Pirlo and Arturo Vidal and the injuries to Claudio Marchisio and Sami Khedira, but he's shown flashes of his ridiculous potential in the past week or so, including winning the battle against City's Yaya Toure. The 22-year-old was excellent at the Etihad, providing a superb assist for Mario Mandzukic and generally shielding the defence well. The Guardian's Barney Ronay was impressed: Barney Ronay ✔ @barneyronay Pogba's good isn't he? He also must be a contender for the title of world's strongest very skinny legs Pogba's future has been a topic of conversation for years now, and plenty of ink was wasted linking the France international with a host of clubs this summer, per Quotidiano Sportivo (h/t Daily Express' Uche Amako). A move never seemed likely, with Pirlo and Vidal leaving the club, but that didn't stop Dan King of the Sun from claiming a deal between the Blues and Juventus had already been made. If Pogba does leave the Italian giants―which isn't as inevitable as some people seem to think―the summer of 2016 would provide the perfect moment. Pogba is expected to lead France at Euro 2016, and if he does well on home soil, his value should be at an all-time high, the perfect leverage when entering discussions about his new wages. With Cuadrado impressing for the Bianconeri, the Blues suddenly have a potentially huge weapon in discussions. Up until this point, Pogba seemed destined to move to La Liga, with Barcelona often touted as the most likely destination, per Diario Sport (h/t the Independent's Tom Sheen). The very best players in the world have routinely spurned Premier League clubs for a Spanish adventure―think of Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Luis Suarez and Gareth Bale―and a similar scenario seemed logical for Pogba. But with Cuadrado, Chelsea have the opportunity to present Juventus with an attractive package that includes a player they know will be a good fit, and all the Blues will have to do is convince Pogba to move to west London rather than La Liga.

Allegri: We Have To Start Gaining Ground On Our Rivals http://forzaitalianfootball.com/2015/09/allegri-we-have-to-start-gaining-ground-on-our-rivals/? Sep 22, 2015 Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri believes his team must start performing if they are to catch up to leaders Inter and other potential Scudetto challengers. The Old Lady have secured just one win so far this season in Serie A and have just four points from four games, but Allegri is confident the side can still have a good campaign. “For now we are behind in the league, against Frosinone we have to win as we have been poor at home, we must begin to move up the table,” said Allegri in pre-match press conference. “We are aware of the difficulties we had in pre-season, but the Italian Super Cup was a major trophy and we won it. “The team is responding well to a difficult moment, I have a lot of options for the game against Frosinone. “At the Marassi against Genoa we did not conceded a shot on goal and we deserved the victory. “Our first goal of the season is of course to qualify for the Champions League knockout stage and I think that we took the first step to qualification in Manchester. “Lemina is suitable for our midfield, his debut against Genoa, it went well.” The former AC Milan coach then updated the media about Juventus’ injury situation with Alvaro Morata and Mario Mandzukic. “It’s too early for Khedira and Marchisio. Kwadwo Asamoah is training with the team and will soon be available,” Allegri continued. “I will assess the condition of Morata. I will make my decisions accordingly and the same applies for Cuadrado.”

JUVENTUS - FROSINONE - MATCHDAY 5 Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee: Angelo Cervellera JUVENTUS V FROSINONE MATCH PREVIEW http://www.juvefc.com/juventus-v-frosinone-match-preview-scouting-report/? Sep 22, 2015 Juventus Juventus have finally returned to winning ways in Serie A too and can start climbing the table: the match against the newly promoted and struggling Frosinone arrives with ideal timing, few days before the key away game against Napoli. The win against Genoa certainly did not come after the prettiest performance, but Juventus desperately needed three points, the Manchester City game drained a lot of energy and winning ugly is a skill too. It will not be the last time it happens during the season. Most importantly, Juventus finally kept a clean sheet for the first time since the Supercoppa, and that helps a great deal, they did not suffer much despite Genoa’s early proactivity and quickly iced the game when things went their way after Armando Izzo was shown a red card. Massimiliano Allegri will continue to manage the roster as this cycle of seven games in three weeks reaches its midpoint. On Sunday, the coach rested Leonardo Bonucci and Hernanes, in this one it has already been announced that Gianluigi Buffon will given a day off, so Norberto Neto will make his official debut. I would not be surprised if also Giorgio Chiellini and Juan Cuadrado were spared ahead of the San Paolo match. This would give Andrea Barzagli another chance to play as Allegri was coy about the possibility of fielding Daniele Rugani, that we will probably see only in the first Coppa Italia match, even though on paper this look like an ideal opportunity to use him. Martin Caceres will not return to the starting XI as he is not in perfect conditions yet, while it is almost certain that Alex Sandro will replace Patrice Evra on the left flank. As it has often happened in this season, most of the bad news come from the infirmary. Mario Mandzukic has suffered a thigh strain and will miss twenty days, while Alvaro Morata was subbed off early and is dealing with a mysterious abdomen injury that hopefully will be sorted soon. These facts leave the coach with little chances but to go with 4-3-1-2. Hernanes should play in front of the defense, with Paul Pogba on his left and one between Stefano Sturaro and Mario Lemina on his right. The Frenchman has played a nice little game against Genoa and surely represents a viable option as pivot, maybe in the future too. We have already seen in the past that Allegri sometimes prefers to have a more defensive player there and Lemina is more on the Nigel De Jong side than on the Andrea Pirlo side. When Claudio Marchisio and Sami Khedira will return, likely after the next international break, I doubt we will see much of Hernanes in that position, but we will probably still see some Lemina, who, anyway, can play as box-to-box midfielder too. With Morata and Mandzukic ailing and Cuadrado probably rested, the attacking trio should be composed by Roberto Pereyra, Paulo Dybala and Simone Zaza and that should be more than enough to overcome Frosinone. The funny thing about the predicted lineup is that you can shake up the midfield, going with Lemina as DLP, Pereyra right CM and Hernanes AMF and you would still have a pretty good result. Probable lineup 4-3-1-2: Neto; Lichtsteiner, Barzagli, Bonucci, Alex Sandro; Lemina, Hernanes, Pogba; Pereyra; Dybala, Zaza. Injuries Khedira (thigh), Asamoah (knee), Marchisio (thigh), Caceres (thigh), Mandzukic (thigh), Morata (abdomen). Suspended None. Frosinone After grabbing the second place in Serie B late in the season, Frosinone have had an awful time adapting to the highest league so far. The enthusiasm for the first promotion in their history has faded away after a single half, when the much more experienced Torino have easily completed the comeback after an early score by Danilo Soddimo. That remains the only goal that Frosinone have tallied so far in four match and they have lost them all, against Atalanta, Roma and Bologna, and the last one was really worrying. The rookie coach and Torino legend Roberto Stellone normally uses a very standard 4-4-2 that takes advantage of a strong flank game thanks to speedy wingers and fullbacks. However, that has stalled after the first game, even though he has tried several different options: Soddimo, Luca Paganini, Daniele Verde and Aleksandar Tonev. However, the area where they have disappointed the most is certainly the attack as Daniel Ciofani and Federico Dionisi, two absolute tanks in Serie B, have not been effective. Samuele Longo has offered little help, but that is not a surprising, and the highly touted Nico Castillo, once labelled the Chilean Zlatana Ibrahimovic, has yet to make his day view. Stellone in the pre-game presser hinted that he may mix things up a little bit and ditch 4-4-2. They will miss Robert Gucher in the midfield, who is really their engine, so they could strengthen that zone using a three-man line, composed by Mirk Gori, Raman Chibsah and one between the veterans Paolo Sammarco and Alessandro Frara. But he will probably just use one of the wingers, Tonev or Verde, as second striker to add some oomph to the attack. Usually their only doubt in the back-four is at LB, with Roberto Crivello and Daniel Pavlovic battling for the job, but, as they are evaluating everybody after the horrible start, Modibo Diakité and Leonardo Blanchard are not sure-fire starters either. Moreover, it would not be a surprise to see one of the fullbacks in a more advanced position to give the lineup a distinct defensive outline. As for the flanks, the competition is wide open, with Paganini and Soddimo as the frontrunners. Tonev should play upfront relegating Dionisi to the bench. Longo is out with an ankle injury, Ciofani should be the starter but Castillo has a chance too. They have looked vulnerable so far, but they are not pushovers. They paid for their inexperience against Torino and were a bit unlucky against Bologna, where they create some good chances, and they have put up a decent fight against Roma, which closed the game only in the final minutes. It is certainly a weak opponent, but none in Serie A should be underestimated. Probable lineup 4-4-2: Leali; Rosi, Diakité, Blanchard, Pavlovic; Paganini, Gori, Chibsah, Soddimo; Tonev, Ciofani. Injuries Longo (ankle), Gucher (ankle). Suspended None. Formation http://www.goal.com/en-gb/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=SP_TN_127

JUVENTUS - FROSINONE - MATCHDAY 5 Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee: Angelo Cervellera MATCH PREVIEW http://www.football-italia.net/SerieA/match/preview/69865 Sep 22, 2015 A terrific Champions League away victory at Manchester City followed by a solid win and clean sheet in Genoa has laid to rest all of the talk of a crisis in Turin after a torrid start to the season. The Bianconeri welcome a side in Frosinone that not only find themselves bottom of the table, but are without a point and only one goal to their name. The clash in North-West Italy looks like a banker for the reigning champions, who appear to have regained confidence. Both teams have no suspensions, with the Canarini close to full strength. Juve on the other hand are short in midfield with Claudio Marchisio and Sami Khedira nursing long-term injuries as well as Kwadwo Asamoah, who is in the treatment room. Furthermore, the first choice strike pairing of Alvaro Morata and Mario Mandzukic are both out following muscle injuries sustained at the weekend. With on-form Napoli coming up on Saturday night and injuries piling up, Max Allegri will be tempted to rest a few star names. Frosinone hand the gloves to highly-rated young shot stopper Nicola Leali - playing against his parent club. Between the other pair of sticks, his opposite number Gigi Buffon faces the Ciociari for the third time in his career after the veteran number one played both in fixtures in The Old Lady’s Serie B 2006-07 campaign - keeping two clean sheets in the process. He’ll be hoping for much of the same midweek. Keep an eye on: Hernanes (Juventus) – It seemed to drag on for an eternity, but Juve finally filled the attacking midfield position they were coveting all summer on deadline day. If this Brazilian international can replicate the form he showed for Lazio rather than his below par Inter performances, then the Turin giants have a player on their hands. Form Guide: Juventus (W D L L -) Frosinone (L L L L -) Last season: Not played Stat fact: These sides faced each other back in the 2006-07 season down in Serie B, with Juventus coming out victorious in both matches. Juventus (probable): Buffon; Lichtsteiner, Barzagli, Chiellini, Alex Sandro; Lemina, Hernanes, Sturaro; Pereyra; Zaza, Dybala Suspended: None Frosinone (probable): Leali; Rosi, Russo, Diakite, Pavlocic; Paganini, Gori, Chibsah, Frara; Tonev, Ciofani Suspended: None http://www.goal.com/en-gb/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=SP_TN_127

JUVENTUS - FROSINONE - MATCHDAY 5 Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee: Angelo Cervellera Juventus squad for Frosinone http://www.football-italia.net/73337/juventus-squad-frosinone? Sep 22, 2015 Juventus have numerous absentees for Wednesday night’s Serie A encounter with Frosinone. It kicks off at 20.45 CET. The Bianconeri have a series of injury problems going into the fifth round of the season. Alvaro Morata and Mario Mandzukic picked up injuries in the 2-0 win away to Genoa on Sunday. They join Claudio Marchisio, Sami Khedira and Kwadwo Asamoah on the treatment table. Considering there is a huge Serie A clash with Napoli on Saturday night, Coach Max Allegri may well be tempted to rest even more big names. Juventus squad for Frosinone: Buffon, Chiellini, Zaza, Pogba, Hernanes, Alex Sandro, Barzagli, Cuadrado, Lemina, Bonucci, Padoin, Dybala, Rugani, Neto, Lichtsteiner, Sturaro, Evra, Pereyra, Audero, Favilli http://www.goal.com/en-gb/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=SP_TN_127

JUVENTUS - FROSINONE - MATCHDAY 5 Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee: Angelo Cervellera Stellone: 'Juve not impossible' http://www.football-italia.net/73334/stellone-juve-not-impossible? Sep 22, 2015 Frosinone Coach Roberto Stellone told his side it’s “time to win ugly” and nothing is impossible against Juventus. The Serie A clash kicks off in Turin on Wednesday at 20.45 CET. “We have zero points from four games, but once again with Bologna we put in an excellent performance and allowed few chances,” said the youngest tactician in the League. “Unfortunately, we conceded with their only shot on target. We tried to make up for it with good football, but partly due to bad luck and Bologna’s talents, we were unable to do so. “We have zero points, I will admit our confidence is not high. We are facing the strongest side in the tournament along with Roma and will try to focus on what matters. “We will also aim to stop Juve playing, because they have so much quality. Over their last two games Juventus earned one point, but they were unlucky and deserved to win. They are in good shape, despite the criticism. “Everything points to this being an impossible game, but nothing is to be taken for granted in football. We are alive and kicking, our soul is always on the pitch and the time has come to play a little worse, but get some points. It’s time to win ugly.” Stellone has fond memories of facing Juventus during his playing career. “I scored on my Serie A debut with Napoli, but in the end we lost the game.” http://www.goal.com/en-gb/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=SP_TN_127

JUVENTUS - FROSINONE - MATCHDAY 5 Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee: Angelo Cervellera Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon to be rested vs. Frosinone - Max Allegri http://www.espnfc.co.uk/juventus/story/2625125/juventus-gianluigi-buffon-to-be-rested-says-max-allegri? Sep 22, 2015 Massimiliano Allegri is to rest Gianluigi Buffon for a must-win game against Frosinone on Wednesday evening. In view of Saturday night's trip to Napoli and the visit of Sevilla to Juventus Stadium in the Champions League next Wednesday, the Juve coach has decided now is as good a time as any to give Buffon a break and let summer signing Neto stand between the posts. "Yes, Gigi's having a rest and Neto will play against Frosinone," Allegri confirmed at a news conference on Tuesday in which he stressed the importance of picking up the first win of the season at home after losing to Udinese and drawing with Chievo. "We're currently behind and we've absolutely got to beat Frosinone to get our first win at home and to move into the top half of the table," he said. "We know that we're behind, but we've got to carry on taking things game by game. Right now, we're forced to do the chasing." Allegri will be without Mario Mandzukic for the next 20 days while Alvaro Morata is doubtful for Tuesday night, which means Paulo Dybala and Simone Zaza could lead the Bianconeri attack together for the first time. "It's possible," Allegri said. "Even if they've both got different characteristics, they are two players who fill the same role in the centre of the attack. "We're in good shape and I've got a large squad to choose from. Even last year, we ended the season getting better and better and it's important that you're in good shape when March comes around, because that is when the fundamental games for the cups and the Scudetto arrive. "We were improved at [Genoa's home ground] Marassi, but now we need to get even better and become even more dominant. That's necessary to beat the top teams in Europe. Getting through our Champions League group, where we've started very well, is our first objective." http://www.goal.com/en-gb/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=SP_TN_127

Paul Pogba's Manchester United exit Mino Raiola's fault - Sir Alex Ferguson http://www.espnfc.co.uk/manchester-united/story/2625071/paul-pogba-man-united-exit-mino-raiola-fault-ferguson? Sep 22, 2015 Sir Alex Ferguson has blamed Paul Pogba's agent for the midfielder's departure from Manchester United. Pogba, 22, joined Juventus when his contract at Old Trafford expired in 2012 but Ferguson claimed Pogba was willing to sign an extended deal until Mino Raiola became his representative and intervened. The Scot, who was United's manager from 1986 to 2013, said he and Raiola, whose clients also include Mario Balotelli and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, were like "oil and water." In his new book "Leading," Ferguson wrote: "There are one or two football agents I simply do not like. And Mino Raiola, Paul Pogba's agent, is one of them. "I distrusted him from the moment I met him. He became Zlatan Ibrahimovic's agent while he was playing for Ajax, and eventually he would end up representing Pogba, who was only 18 years old at the time. "We had Paul under a three-year contract, and it had a one-year renewal option which we were eager to sign. But Raiola suddenly appeared on the scene and our first meeting was a fiasco. "He and I were like oil and water. From then on, our goose was cooked because Raiola had been able to ingratiate himself with Paul and his family and the player signed with Juventus." United were awarded £800,000 in compensation when Pogba joined Juventus but theFrance international, who has since won three Serie A titles and helped the Bianconeri reach May's Champions League final, is now valued at €80 million. Pogba never started a game for United and has since said he was particularly aggrieved when Ferguson chose to pick right-back Rafael da Silva and winger Ji-sung Park ahead of him in the centre of midfield against Blackburn in December 2011.

JUVENTUS - FROSINONE - MATCHDAY 5 Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee: Angelo Cervellera Zaza to start for Juventus? http://www.football-italia.net/73325/zaza-start-juventus? Sep 22, 2015 Juventus could revert to a 4-3-1-2 for the visit of Frosinone, with Simone Zaza starting in attack. The Bianconeri went with a 4-3-3 for the wins over Manchester City and Genoa, but could use a 4-3-1-2 for tomorrow’s match. Coach Massimiliano Allegri has already confirmed that Neto will start in goal in place of Gigi Buffon, with Giorgio Chiellini likely to be rested for this encounter. That would see Andrea Barzagli partner Leonardo Bonucci in central defence, with Alex Sandro in line to make his second start of the season at left-back in place of Patrice Evra. Simone Zaza could make his first start for the Old Lady with Alvaro Morata and Mario Mandzukic injured, with Paulo Dybala likely to partner him up-front. Roberto Pereyra should play behind the strikers, with either Mario Lemina or Stefano Sturaro partnering Hernanes and Paul Pogba in the middle of the park. Probable Juventus team to face Frosinone: Neto; Lichtsteiner, Barzagli, Bonucci, Alex Sandro; Lemina, Hernanes, Pogba; Pereyra; Dybala, Zaza. http://www.goal.com/en-gb/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=SP_TN_127

JUVENTUS - FROSINONE - MATCHDAY 5 Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee: Angelo Cervellera Max Allegri press conference roundup: Neto to start in goal, Martin Cáceres out, Álvaro Morata status still TBD http://www.blackwhitereadallover.com/2015/9/22/9370027/juventus-frosinone-max-allegri-neto-martin-caceres-alvaro-morata-serie-a-round-5 Sep 22, 2015 With Serie A's last-place coming to Turin on Wednesday night, common logic would tell you that Juventus manager Max Allegri will probably make a couple of changes to his starting lineup. Usually coy about what's in the cards, Allegri is never truly going to reveal his full hand, instead choosing to make us wait it out until the starting lineups are revealed on game day to actually get our answers. What a guy, right? But for his answer of "I've got options to potentially rest some players" Allegri rolled out some actual lineup news just a little while ago. No, seriously, he did! Just keep reading! Allegri announced during his pre-match press conference on Tuesday afternoon that summer signing Neto — who arrived from Fiorentina on a free transfer and replaced Marco Storari as Juventus' backup goalkeeper — will get the start in goal against Frosinone on Wednesday night. It will be the Brazilian's full Juventus debut, meaning that he will be the latest summer arrival to get to wear a Juve jersey for the first time officially. JuventusFC ✔ @juventusfcen .@OfficialAllegri: "@Neto_Murara will start #JuveFrosinone in place of @gianluigibuffon." Ah, so for the first time this current Serie A season, somebody other than Gianluigi Buffon will be wearing the captain's armband and leading Juventus out of the tunnel. The way San Gigi has played this season, I think it's safe to say that he's earned a day off. And when you're playing a team that has scored just one goal in four games, Allegri probably feels pretty confident that this is the right timing to give Neto his full debut. Other things of note during Allegri's pre-match press conference: Defender Martin Cáceres, who missed the trip to Genoa over the weekend because of injury, will once again be held out of the match day squad due to muscle fatigue he's dealing with. With the midweek fixture Wednesday, Cáceres would have probably been an option to start at right back to give Stephan Lichtsteiner a rest after featuring against both Manchester City and Genoa last week. Striker Álvaro Morata, who got word that he was not injured seriously in the Genoa game despite having to be removed in the first half Sunday, is likely out for the Frosinone match. Or at least that's what it sounds like from afar after seeing what Allegri had to say. Seems like Allegri and his medical staff are doing the right thing and choosing to play it safe with Morata's status knowing that it's very early in the season and Napoli awaits Juve this weekend. Midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah "will soon be available for selection," according to Allegri. Asamoah has yet to appear in any game this season due to his continued recovery from knee surgery. Allegri had some nice things to say about Daniele Rugani. Maybe the talking up of the 21-year-old defender means Rugani might get to play against Frosinone on Wednesday. Or maybe it's just Allegri saying that he has high hopes for Rugani despite the fact that he hasn't played in a game yet this season. All of the above could also be a legitimate option in this case. http://www.goal.com/en-gb/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=SP_TN_127

JUVENTUS - FROSINONE - MATCHDAY 5 Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee: Angelo Cervellera Allegri: ‘CL knockouts main objective’ http://www.football-italia.net/73314/allegri-%E2%80%98cl-knockouts-main-objective%E2%80%99? Sep 22, 2015 Massimiliano Allegri says Juventus’ ‘first aim of the season is reaching the Champions League knockout stages’ and discusses injuries. The Bianconeri face Frosinone tomorrow evening in Serie A, after picking up their first league win of the season against Genoa on Sunday. Read our match preview here. However, their Coach stated that European ambitions are taking precedent over league form for the Old Lady this term. "Our first aim of this season is reaching the Champions League knockout stages,” he said at today’s pre-match Press conference. “We took our first step towards that in Manchester. "In Genoa we didn't allow the hosts a shot on goal and fully deserved our triumph. "Games against Genoa are always physical affairs. We did well to come away with a win from a tough venue. "Mandzukic didn't feel any pain during the game. It was muscle fatigue that led to his injury. "Inter's start hasn't surprised me. They're a solid outfit with dangerous individuals. "Our aim tomorrow is to win and climb up into the higher reaches of the table. "I've got plenty of options for the Frosinone match and could also rest a few players. "It's a pity to leave Daniele Rugani out at present. He's coming on well, has plenty of quality and a great temperament. "Lemina represents a decent fit as an inside midfielder. He did well on his debut against Genoa. "Neto will start against Frosinone in place of Buffon. Caceres will once again be rested for tomorrow's game "I need to check on Morata's condition today, if he's available I'll have three strikers at my disposal. “Asamoah continues to train with the team and will soon be available for selection.” http://www.goal.com/en-gb/tables/serie-a/13?ICID=SP_TN_127

JUVENTUS - FROSINONE - MATCHDAY 5 Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee: Angelo Cervellera Juventus vs. Frosinone: Team News, Predicted Lineups http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2569785-juventus-vs-frosinone-team-news-predicted-lineups-live-stream-tv-info? Sep 22, 2015 Having finally returned to winning ways against Manchester City, Juventus followed that up with their first league victory, comfortably seeing off Genoa this past weekend. The Bianconeri do not have long to rest on their laurels, however, as they are pressed back into Serie A action with Frosinone's visit to Turin on Wednesday. With that 2-0 victory over Genoa safely in the books—and reviewed in depth here—the squad appeared much happier, with Giorgio Chiellini believing that their Champions League outing had helped immeasurably. “After Tuesday, I was confident that a match like this could see us rekindle our spark,” the defender told Sky Sport Italia (h/t giornalaccio rosa World) shortly after the final whistle on Sunday, going on to insist it also would spur them on further. “I thought we played well, and this should be a starting point for us,” Chiellini continued. “We go into the Frosinone match knowing what we are capable of and we will look to be at our best.” OptaPaolo ✔ @OptaPaolo 14 - #Frosinone have won a league-high 14 home games, securing promotion to the top-flight for the 1st time in their history. History. That is not good news for the Canarini, beaten again on Sunday by Bologna as the size of the task facing the top-flight debutants is fully revealed. Yet coach Roberto Stellone was left bemoaning his side’s misfortune after seeing them hit the crossbar twice in a 1-0 loss. “Today we had a good game,” Stellone noted on Rai Sport after the game (h/t Forza Italian Football). “We were just bad in attack, but in the second half we kept the ball in play and were better—yet unlucky—in front of goal.” Sadly for Stellone and Frosinone, his Juventus counterpart was equally dissatisfied, believing there is also much more to come from the defending champions. “We’ve got time to improve and that’s precisely what we need to do,” Massimiliano Allegri told reporters on Sunday, per the club’s official website. That does not bode well for Wednesday’s visitors as Italian football’s grand Old Lady warms up for yet another title challenge. Predicted Formations Juventus (4-3-3): Gigi Buffon; Stephan Lichtsteiner, Leonardo Bonucci, Andrea Barzagli, Alex Sandro; Mario Lemina, Hernanes, Paul Pogba; Roberto Pereyra; Paulo Dybala, Simone Zaza Unavailable: Alvaro Morata, Mario Mandzukic, Sami Khedira, Kwadwo Asamoah, Claudio Marchisio (all injured) Frosinone (4-4-2): Nicola Leali; Aleandro Rosi, Leonardo Blanchard, Modibo Diakite, Daniel Pavlocic; Aleksandar Tonev, Yussif Chibsah, Paolo Sammarco, Danilo Soddimo; Federico Dionisi, Nicolas Castillo Unavailable: Massimiliano Carlini, Robert Gucher (both injured) Player to Watch While Juan Cuadrado has shown he is a valuable addition for the Bianconeri, perhaps fellow new arrival Hernanes will be the man to watch against Frosinone. The Brazilian was rested against Genoa at the weekend but is likely to return for this next fixture, and his impact could prove telling. Against both Chievo and Manchester City, the former Lazio man was at the heart of the Bianconeri’s positive attacking play, and did so from two very different positions. For the clash with the former he was deployed just behind the strikers, and orchestrated some fine interplay, while also showcasing his set piece ability. OptaPaolo ✔ @OptaPaolo 40 - Since 2010/11 only Hamsik has scored more goals (46) in the league than #Hernanes (40) among Serie A midfielders. Shooter. At the Etihad Stadium, Claudio Marchisio was unavailable, prompting Allegri to use Hernanes as a deep-lying playmaker in central midfield, and he was once again excellent. Showing a fine range of passing, the 30-year-old showed he is a versatile signing, one that allows Juventus to operate in a variety of styles. Key Battle Arguably the matchup that will most affect the outcome on Wednesday evening is between Frosinone’s Nicola Leali and the Juventus attack. Finally sparking into life over the past two games, the Bianconeri front line poses a daunting threat to any defence, with the likes of Mario Mandzukic and Alvaro Morata needing little introduction. Standing in their way will be Leali, a 22-year-old goalkeeper who is actually on loan from the Turin giants for the 2015/16 campaign. According to statistics courtesy of the Fox Soccer website, no player has faced more shots than the 22 fired in his direction thus far, a tally Juve will look to add to. Asked if he was ready to move to Turin in the near future, Leali told Roma Talk Radio (per CalcioNews24, quotes in Italian) that for the moment all he is thinking of is doing well with Frosinone. If his new side are to take anything from this encounter, they will need their young shot-stopper at his very best and have him deliver the kind of performance that first attracted Juve’s attention. JUVENTUS - FROSINONE - MATCHDAY 5 Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium - Turin Referee: Angelo Cervellera Juventus - Frosinone Preview: Chiellini & Pereyra buoyed by recent upturn A poor start to the season from the Old Lady was ended with wins over Manchester City and Genoa as the Serie A champions looks to climb the table. http://www.goal.com/en-za/match/juventus-vs-frosinone/2120421/preview Sep 21, 2015 Juventus head into their first ever top-flight meeting against Frosinone with their belief restored, according to experienced defender Giorgio Chiellini. The reigning Serie A champions endured a torrid start to their title defence, taking a solitary point from their first three games, and found themselves 1-0 down midway through the second half of their Champions League opener at Manchester City. But goals from Mario Mandzukic and Alvaro Morata completed a sensational turnaround to see off the Premier League leaders and Massimiliano Allegri's men built on that success with a 2-0 victory at Genoa on Sunday. The latter win came at a price, with Mandzukic (thigh) and Morata (abdominal) leaving their coach with something of a quandary in attack, but Chiellini is delighted to be back to winning ways. "We'll take each game as it comes and approach Frosinone with the same calmness that we demonstrated [against Genoa]," he told Sky Italia. "After this week we have plenty of belief going forward for the rest of the campaign." Roberto Pereyra entered the fray when Morata sustained his injury during the first half at the weekend and could be in line to start against the visitors, who have lost all four matches to date on their Serie A debut. Juve come into Wednesday's clash eight points behind leaders Inter, who have a perfect record thus far, but such a margin does not intimidate Pereyra at this early stage of the season. "Inter have started well and that's why they're top after four games," he told his club's official website. "But as we all know the season has just started and we'll give everything as a team to make sure we start climbing the table." On his prospects of a place in the first XI against Frosinone, where Simone Zaza will be pushing for a maiden Juventus start, Pereyra added: "The manager asked me to pick up where Alvaro had left off [at Genoa] and I think I did a good job. "No-one is guaranteed a spot in this team and everyone knows that they have to work hard to cement their place in the side." Juventus won both matches against Frosinone without conceding during their Serie B campaign in 2006-07, goalkeepers Gianluigi Buffon and Massimo Zappino taking part in those encounters. Zappino has not played for Frosinone so far this season, with Nicola Leali – on a season-long loan from Juventus – keeping him out of the team. OPTA FACTS Juventus and Frosinone meet for the first time in Serie A – the Old Lady won without conceding goals in both of their two previous meetings they had in Serie B in 2006/07. The two ‘keepers Gigi Buffon and Massimo Zappino both took part to those meetings in Serie B. On Sunday against Genoa, Juventus kept their first clean sheet after conceding for seven consecutive league games between this and last season. The Bianconeri haven’t won either of their last two home games – the last time they’ve failed to win for three home games in a row in the league was in May 2011. Juventus have won only one of their last four league games at the “Stadium” – previously, they had won 34 home games out of 36 in the league, drawing two. Frosinone have lost their first four Serie A games – the last team to make their debut in the top-flight with four consecutive defeats was Sassuolo in 2013/14 (and they eventually avoided relegation). Frosinone have faced 83 shots so far – more than any other side in Serie A. Juventus have already scored two goals from the penalty spot – more than any other side in the competition.
