  2. TRABZONSPOR - JUVENTUS February 27, 2014 - 9:05 PM Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadyumu — Trabzon Referee: Pavel Kralovec (Czech Republic) Conte: Juventus going to attack in Trabzonspor Ahead of their Europa League round-of-32 second-leg clash with the Turks, the Bianconeri coach says his team will play to score an away goal. Feb 26, 2014 Antonio Conte insists Juventus will not sit back and defend their 2-0 first-leg lead against Trabzonspor. http://markting10.nl/ The Bianconeri have the advantage courtesy of strikes from Dani Osvaldo and Paul Pogba in the Europa League round-of-32 clash. The Juve coach spoke of the value of an away goal, stating his side will be proactive in their approach and alluded to their 1-0 defeat to Galatasaray in the Champions League as an example of what to expect in Turkey. "We are not coming to Turkey in order to defend a 2-0 lead because scoring a goal here would practically secure our qualification for the next round," he told reporters on Wednesday. http://markting10.nl/ "The 2-0 from the first leg is certainly an excellent result, as it’s very important to win at home without conceding. This can be to our advantage. "However, we are facing a side pushed forward by 25,000 fans. There is going to be a fiery atmosphere, but we are prepared and have the utmost respect for this team. It’s not the first time we have faced a game like this." The Juve coach made some changes for the first-leg clash in the hope of keeping his side fresh for the remainder of the campaign and he hinted at more of the same on Thursday. http://markting10.nl/ "In the first leg the players who haven’t had as much playing time did well, but tomorrow I expect them to do even better," he continued. "If we do well, then we will continue in the competition, but I do admit I have to rotate the squad, otherwise we run huge risks. "These games are also valuable, as they give the players more European experience. Some people forget our European adventure only began last season. It’ll be tougher than in Italy, so we require a lot of patience and hard work."
  3. TRABZONSPOR - JUVENTUS February 27, 2014 - 9:05 PM Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadyumu — Trabzon Referee: Pavel Kralovec (Czech Republic) Trabzonspor-Juventus Preview: Bianconeri take two-goal lead to Turkey Pablo Osvaldo and Paul Pogba have put the Italian champions within touching distance of the last 16 but the Super Lig outfit will take heart from their performance in Turin. Feb 26, 2014 History is very much against Trabzonspor as they seek to overturn a first-leg deficit and knock Juventus out of the Europa League. http://markting10.nl/ The Super Lig side, still acclimatising to life under new boss Hami Mandirali, will begin the second leg of their round-of-32 tie trailing 2-0 following goals from Pablo Daniel Osvaldo and Paul Pogba in Turin last week. Trabzonspor have not beaten a Serie A side at home since 1982 and will have to better the 1-0 scoreline recorded on that occasion in a UEFA Cup first-round victory over Inter. However, Turkey does not exactly hold pleasant recent memories for Juventus, as it was a 1-0 defeat to Galatasaray that dumped the Italian club into the Europa League during the final round of Champions League group matches in December. http://markting10.nl/ Additionally, Trabzonspor have an impressive continental record at the Huseyin Avni Aker Stadium. They are unbeaten in seven matches on home turf in Europe and had not lost in 12 UEFA games this term until they ran into Antonio Conte’s men - who are without a victory in their last four European away trips, losing three of those games. Nevertheless, the Bianconeri remain firm favourites and have the considerable carrot of this season's Europa League final being staged at the Juventus Stadium. http://markting10.nl/ If that were not enough, a spicy tie with domestic rivals Fiorentina appears to be in store for the round of 16, with the latter having taken a 3-1 advantage over Esbjerg back to Florence. Despite his team's encouraging position, Conte has spoken of the need for Juventus to deliver an improved performance at both ends of the field in the second leg. Yet it remains to be seen whether the former midfielder will opt to field a full-strength side against Trabzonspor, given that a glamorous Serie A fixture at Milan awaits on Sunday. http://markting10.nl/ While Juventus hold a healthy advantage in their domestic league, having dropped only nine points all season, Trabzonspor have not been able to enjoy similar success. Mandirali's men lie seventh in the Super Lig, 15 points behind leaders Fenerbahce, and face a battle to secure European football for next season. Indeed, the appointment of Mandirali owed much to Trabzonspor's poor form as he stepped up from his role as assistant following Mustafa Akcay's resignation earlier this month. http://markting10.nl/ Head to Head UEFA Europa League ‎-‎ Feb 20, 2014 - Juventus 2 - 0 Trabzonspor AŞ Last Five Matches TRABZONSPOR Feb 23, 2014 - Trabzonspor AŞ 2 - 1 Kayserispor - Super Lig Feb 20, 2014 - Juventus 2 - 0 Trabzonspor AŞ - EL Feb 15, 2014 - Kardemir Karabük 2 - 2 Trabzonspor AŞ - Super Lig Feb 9, 2014 - Trabzonspor AŞ 2 - 4 Akhisar Bld. - Super Lig Feb 3, 2014 - Çaykur Rizespor 0 - 0 Trabzonspor AŞ - Super Lig JUVENTUS Feb 23, 2014 - Juventus 1 - 0 Torino - Serie A Feb 20, 2014 - Juventus 2 - 0 Trabzonspor AŞ - EL Feb 16, 2014 - Juventus 3 - 1 Chievo - Serie A Feb 9, 2014 - Hellas Verona 2 - 2 Juventus - Serie A Feb 2, 2014 - Juventus 3 - 1 FC Internazionale - Serie A
  4. TRABZONSPOR - JUVENTUS February 27, 2014 - 9:05 PM Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadyumu — Trabzon Referee: Pavel Kralovec (Czech Republic) Buffon: 'We take Europa seriously' Feb 26, 2014 Gianluigi Buffon insisted Juventus are “taking the Europa League seriously” and condemned Superga banners. http://markting10.nl/ The Bianconeri won the first leg against Trabzonspor 2-0 and play in Turkey on Thursday evening. “Of course we are taking the Europa League serious. We can achieve some important things and at the end of the day you can never win too much,” said the goalkeeper in his Press conference. “If we go forward, it would also allow us to gain confidence and guarantees that at times we have been lacking at this level. http://markting10.nl/ “Trabzonspor goalkeeper Onur Kivrak often puts in a series of great performances and shows how brave he can be when coming out, while he also starts moves from the back. He is one of their main strengths. “Our fans showed in the first leg how much they cared about this trophy with a response that sometimes we haven’t even had in certain Champions League games. “That means the same winning mentality the Coach has drilled into us also now belongs to the fans. It needs a little more humility to get back into Europe’s football elite and the supporters showed us they are standing right behind us even if we’re not in the Champions League.” http://markting10.nl/ However, Buffon had harsh words for those ultras who held up banners mocking the Superga tragedy during the Turin Derby. “Respect must be total. It’s ‘rest in peace,’ so let’s try at least not to annoy the dead. If we are to improve the sporting spirit in Italy, then we’ve got to get respect into people’s heads.”
  5. TRABZONSPOR - JUVENTUS February 27, 2014 - 9:05 PM Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadyumu — Trabzon Referee: Pavel Kralovec (Czech Republic) Conte: 'Juve take game to Trabzonspor' Feb 26, 2014 Antonio Conte assures Juventus are “prepared” for the Trabzonspor atmosphere and “are not coming to defend a 2-0 lead.” http://markting10.nl/ The second leg of this Europa League Round of 32 kicks off in Turkey at 21.05 CET on Thursday, following on from the 2-0 result in Turin. “We will try to take the initiative,” said the Coach in his Press conference. “We are facing a team that above all in attack has great quality. In any case, we are not coming to Turkey in order to defend a 2-0 lead, because scoring a goal here would practically secure our qualification for the next round. http://markting10.nl/ “The 2-0 from the first leg is certainly an excellent result, as it’s very important to win at home without conceding. This can be to our advantage. “However, we are facing a side pushed forward by 25,000 fans. There is going to be a fiery atmosphere, but we are prepared and have the utmost respect for this team. It’s not the first time we have faced a game like this.” Juventus were knocked out of the Champions League with a surprise 1-0 defeat to Galatasaray in December, so will be hoping not to suffer another Turkish elimination. http://markting10.nl/ Daniel Osvaldo scored in the first leg and is likely to start again tomorrow, as Conte rotates his squad ahead of Sunday’s Serie A clash with Milan. “We are facing the Europa League with a great deal of enthusiasm and I include the whole squad. You saw how many games await us in the next few weeks. “In the first leg the players who haven’t had as much room did well, but tomorrow I expect them to do even better. If we do well, then we will continue in the competition, but I do admit I have to rotate the squad, otherwise we run huge risks. http://markting10.nl/ “These games are also valuable, as they give the players more European experience. Some people forget our European adventure only began last season. It’ll be tougher than in Italy, so we require a lot of patience and hard work.” Following the controversy over the Turin Derby, Conte was also asked about referees. “Last year after the Genoa game I really didn’t like myself and the way I behaved. I apologised and since then have changed my attitude. Italian referees are the best in the world and we must respect what they do. I am telling you this as someone who made a huge mistake and changed his ways.”
  6. TRABZONSPOR - JUVENTUS February 27, 2014 - 9:05 PM Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadyumu — Trabzon Referee: Pavel Kralovec (Czech Republic) Mandirali: 'Trabzonspor had valid goal' Feb 26, 2014 Trabzonspor manager Hami Mandirali insists his team scored “a valid goal” in the first leg against Juventus. http://markting10.nl/ The second leg of their Europa League Round of 32 kicks off on Thursday at 21.05 CET and the Bianconeri have a 2-0 lead to defend. “Looking back at the game we played in Turin, I’d say we lost 2-0 thanks also to bad luck,” said Mandirali in his Press conference. “We played a good second half and, despite the defeat, we had an attacking style of football. We had also scored a valid goal, so it’s a shame that wasn’t awarded.” http://markting10.nl/ The ball was put into the net, but the officials ruled it had already gone out of play before the cross came in. Replays are inconclusive. The Coach was asked whether he expected a more favourable refereeing approach on home turf. “I do not interfere with the work of the referees. I will only repeat that the goal we scored in Turin was valid. http://markting10.nl/ “Now we ask our fans for a big hand and will do everything to get through this round. We will play Juventus the same way we faced them in the second half in Turin. “If we are able to repeat that performance and score a goal in the first half, then we can do it. Antonio Conte has some of the best players in the world at his disposal, but I think very highly of mine. http://markting10.nl/ “One thing is for sure, our philosophy is always to attack. Juve are certainly strong, but don’t forget we put three past Lazio in half an hour.” Trabzonspor topped Group J ahead of Lazio after a 3-3 draw in Turkey and a 0-0 result at the Stadio Olimpico.
  7. TRABZONSPOR - JUVENTUS February 27, 2014 - 9:05 PM Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadyumu — Trabzon Referee: Pavel Kralovec (Czech Republic) Juventus name squad for Trabzonspor Feb 26, 2014 Juventus have named a 20 man squad as they head out to Turkey for the second leg of their Europa League tie with Trabzonspor. http://markting10.nl/ The Old Lady hold a two goal lead from the first leg at Juventus Stadium and will be big favourites to close out the tie on Thursday evening. Giorgio Chiellini returns to the squad but Kwadwo Asamoah, Pepe and Mirko Vucinic all miss out through injury. http://markting10.nl/ Fabio Quagliarella meanwhile cannot be included as he was not submitted on Coach Antonio Conte’s European list in January, and is therefore ineligible. Juventus squad: Buffon, Chiellini, Cacares, Ogbonna, Pogba, Marchisio, Tevez, Giovinco, Peluso, Llorente, Barzagli, Osvaldo, Bonucci, Padoin, Pirlo, Vidal, Lichsteiner, Storari, Isla, Rubinho
  8. Pirlo: Gerrard is a great pro Feb 26, 2014 Andrea Pirlo has praised Liverpool and England midfielder Steven Gerrard, as they prepare to face each other at the World Cup. http://markting10.nl/ Italy will play the Three Lions in their first group game in Manaus on June 14. And the Juventus playmaker has moved to commend his opposite number, with less than four months until kick off. “Smart players can fit in any formation and have the ability to fill many roles,” he told reporters. http://markting10.nl/ “Gerrard is an excellent playmaker who reads the game very well and has great vision. “Steven’s a great professional. I think it’s possible that he will continue for several years at Liverpool and with England – perhaps in a slightly different role.”
  9. TRABZONSPOR - JUVENTUS February 27, 2014 - 9:05 PM Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadyumu — Trabzon Referee: Pavel Kralovec (Czech Republic) Mandirali belives in beating Juve Feb 26, 2014 Trabzonspor boss Hami Mandirali has claimed that ‘anything can happen in football’ as his men prepare to host Juventus. http://markting10.nl/ The Turkish side play the Bianconeri in their Europa League Last 32 second leg clash tomorrow, looking to overturn a 2-0 deficit. However, the Coach has insisted that his men can beat the Old Lady and progress to the next round. “We have to rekindle some passion,” he told Fanatik. “And hopefully that can drag us through against Juventus. http://markting10.nl/ “The recent past has shown that anything can, and will, happen in football if you try hard enough. “We’re going to fight until there’s no hope for us left. We want to get into the next round, and we believe we can.”
  10. Sabella: Tevez? No comment Feb 26, 2014 Argentina boss Alejandro Sabella has commented on his national team players currently plying their trade in Italy. AMAZONIAN With just four months to go until the World Cup in Brazil, the Coach has been closely following Serie A, with a number of his key men on the peninsula. “Yes, I’m following Serie A like I follow all the major European Leagues,” he told Corriere dello Sport. “I keep up to date and try to watch as many games as possible. It’s very practical football, with a high intensity and tactical flexibility. AMAZONIAN “I think Juventus will win the Scudetto because they’re the most complete team. They’ve demonstrated this over the last two seasons. “I think Conte is a great Coach. He’s found a balance in his team that makes them very good. AMAZONIAN “I’m delighted with the season Higuain is having at Napoli. He’s a great player, who’s doing really well. “Tevez? No comment.
  11. JUVENTUS 1 - 0 TORINO Carlos Tévez (30′) February 23, 2014 - 6:30 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Nicola Rizzoli Attendance:‬ 40292‎ Juventus fined €25,000 over Superga banners The Turin club have been punished after it was adjudged that fans had mocked an air disaster that killed 18 Torino players in their 1-0 win over their derby rivals on Sunday. Feb 25, 2014 Juventus have been fined €25,000 after their fans displayed banners referencing the Superga air disaster in Sunday's 1-0 win over Torino. http://markting10.nl/ Carlos Tevez scored the only goal of the encounter after 30 minutes at Juventus Stadium, but a section of home fans caused controversy when they appeared to mock the 1949 crash, which killed 18 members of the Torino squad, along with club officials and journalists. Reports suggested that Juve could be hit with a partial stadium closure, but their punishment has been restricted to a one-off financial penalty. The Lega Serie A judgement alleged that fans "displayed two banners insulting the memory of the tragedy of Superga". http://markting10.nl/ Juve were fined €10,000 for a similar incident in 2012, and president Andrea Agnelli warned supporters over their conduct on Monday. "Tragedies are not to be touched upon," he said in a statement on the club's official Twitter account. "No more vile chants or banners. From anyone." http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  12. JUVENTUS 1 - 0 TORINO Carlos Tévez (30′) February 23, 2014 - 6:30 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Nicola Rizzoli Attendance:‬ 40292‎ Ref: 'Juve-Toro penalty only on TV' Feb 24, 2014 Refereeing designator Stefano Braschi insists “you could only tell it was a penalty via the television camera” in Juventus-Torino. http://markting10.nl/ Nicola Rizzoli is under a great deal of pressure after his performance in the game on Sunday, which saw Juventus beat Torino 1-0. Omar El Kaddouri was tripped by Andrea Pirlo in the final minutes, but he was only booked for dissent. “You could not see the incident from the pitch,” insisted refereeing designator Braschi. http://markting10.nl/ “Even Giampiero Ventura only realised what had happened when watching back the footage at the end of the game. “You could only tell it was a penalty via the images of a television camera.” This caused particular controversy because the referee had a very clear view of the contact between the players. http://markting10.nl/ “Rizzoli was in a good position, just like his goalline assistant Calvarese,” continued Braschi. “TV evidence can only help in occasions where it’s not clear if the ball crossed the line or if a foul was committed inside or outside the penalty area. “On the field, all other decisions are down to the referee. Even then, he cannot see certain situations.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  13. JUVENTUS 1 - 0 TORINO Carlos Tévez (30′) February 23, 2014 - 6:30 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Nicola Rizzoli Attendance:‬ 40292‎ Toro players mock Juve's '12th man' Feb 24, 2014 Torino player Riccardo Meggiorini mocked Juventus for their “12th man” – the referee – after the Derby della Mole. http://markting10.nl/ The Granata lost 1-0 on Sunday and were furious that Omar El Kaddouri was denied a penalty in the closing minutes, while Arturo Vidal twice risked a second yellow card. “Juve’s strength is the so-called 12th man on the field...” wrote Meggiorini on Twitter, referring to an old football cliché about the crowd. http://markting10.nl/ “It’s on the field, though, because it’s certainly not the Juve fans!” Teammate Kamil Glik also tweeted a photograph of the moment Andrea Pirlo tripped El Kaddouri in the penalty area. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  14. Bonucci hits back at Garcia Feb 24, 2014 Juventus' Leonardo Bonucci says comments by Roma boss Rudi Garcia that his side may falter due to their Europa League involvement are inaccurate. http://markting10.nl/ The 26-year-old added that, contrary to Garcia’s words, the additional games would only serve to provide his team with further motivation to succeed. “I have heard about all the Roma boss’ comments about hoping that we slip up due to our involvement in the Cups,” Bonucci wrote on his official website. “I personally find that for a winning team, playing in cups gives more motivation and is more of a positive than a negative. http://markting10.nl/ The Azzurri defender then reacted to the Old Lady’s derby win over Torino. “Turin is black and white!” he wrote. “It seems to be a rhetorical phrase but winning against this Torino team is not easy. “Forza Juventus!”

  16. Juventus' duty to help Pogba reach potential, says Conte The French midfielder is already regarded as one of the best players around in Serie A and the Bianconeri coach is confident he can become even better. Feb 24, 2014 Juventus coach Antonio Conte has vowed to do his utmost to ensure Paul Pogba maximises his potential and becomes one of the best midfielders in the world. AMAZONIAN The France international, 20, was one of the standout performers in Juve's 1-0 Serie A win over neighbours Torino at the Juventus Stadium on Sunday and is regarded as one of the best youngsters around in the game. Pogba has a growing list of suitors following his fine performances this campaign - with the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain thought to be interested in his services - and Conte is confident he is destined for greatness. "Pogba was definitely more solid in midfield, he fought for every inch defensively and I think this was a very important game for him," he told reporters. AMAZONIAN "He's got great potential and could be a great player both offensively and defensively for Juventus. "That is me saying this, remember I used to be charging up and down the field myself in my playing days. Paul can fulfil his potential and become a great champion. AMAZONIAN "It's our duty to make him grow in the right way in order to understand the game and adapt to different situations." Pogba has a contract with Juventus until the summer of 2016.
  17. Pirlo dismisses Real Madrid links The influential midfielder has ruled out the possibility of returning to AC Milan, while he has no intention to joining the Spanish giants either. Feb 24, 2014 Andrea Pirlo has insisted that he has not been in touch with Real Madrid over a summer transfer and is keen to extend his stay with Juventus. http://markting10.nl/ The Italy international's current contract with the Serie A champions is due to expire at the end of the season and Madrid are allegedly closely monitoring Pirlo's situation at the Old Lady. Nevertheless, Pirlo is focused on his current club and is hopeful of agreeing terms over a new deal sooner rather than later. "Real Madrid? I've never spoken to them. I talk with Carlo Ancelotti, but we talk about other things. I feel good here at Juventus," Pirlo told La Stampa. http://markting10.nl/ "Juventus and I have spoken and we will meet again to discuss everything. "We have a lot of matches to play and we must focus on them, but there are a lot of reasons to stay at Juventus. They are growing and it is possible to achieve your targets here." http://markting10.nl/ The 34-year-old then briefly discussed the possibility of returning to AC Milan but was quick to stress that he has no intention of re-joining the San Siro side. "Would I go back to Milan? No, not now. I did what I had to do there. I'm happy to be at Juve. I think that players don't have to go back to where they once did good things. I hope to remain here."
  18. JUVENTUS 1 - 0 TORINO Carlos Tévez (30′) February 23, 2014 - 6:30 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Nicola Rizzoli Attendance:‬ 40292‎ Holy della Mole! A flash of genius, puzzling tactics and a dash of refereeing controversy made for an intriguing Turin derby. Giancarlo Rinaldi examines events in the Juventus Stadium. Feb 23, 2014 This time there was no need to take to Twitter to show off his post-match injuries. Carlitos Tevez did his talking on the pitch in the Turin derby with a strike worthy of winning any match. In the process, he joined Giuseppe Rossi at the top of the goalscoring charts while cementing Juve’s seat at the head of the Serie A table. http://markting10.nl/ Yet this Derby della Mole was a curious game in many aspects. The Bianconeri had a couple of scares early on before turning up the temperature to really start grilling the Granata. It served up one searing strike from their South American hitman and an emphatic victory seemed to be the only possible outcome on the menu. But the second half dished up radically different fare. After 15 minutes of bland produce from both sides, Toro suddenly decided to take a gamble and throw all their spicy attacking options into the pot. It was almost too tasty for the home team to handle. Two decisions from referee Nicola Rizzoli left a particularly bitter taste for Granata fans. The first was not to book Arturo Vidal for a handball offence when he had already received a yellow card. The second was to caution Omar El Kaddouri for a dive in the penalty box when replays showed contact with Andrea Pirlo. Boss Giampiero Ventura faced his post-match interviews with a mixture of pride and regret. http://markting10.nl/ “We couldn’t have forced the play like we did in the last half hour for the whole game,” he insisted. “But it’s rare to see Juventus in such difficulty in the Juventus Stadium. After the first 15 minutes of the second half, they didn’t manage a shot on goal. If Rizzoli had seen the penalty, maybe we would have had an even better result.” “From the replays, you can see he touched me,” added a disappointed El Kaddouri. “I think it was a clear penalty.” http://markting10.nl/ Antonio Conte, shown the incident, had a slightly different view. “Anything could have happened,” he claimed. “He could have booked El Kaddouri or he could have given the penalty.” And, in fairness, the attacking-midfielder’s fall did seem to have some time delay after the initial contact. That won’t, of course, be any consolation for Toro fans who had reason for recrimination at the final whistle. “These are tough games,” admitted Coach Conte. “Torino had nothing to lose - they are already safe and, along with Verona, they are the real revelations of the season. We tried to give them little chance to break. With Alessio Cerci, Ciro Immobile and El Kaddouri, they can hurt anyone.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  19. JUVENTUS 1 - 0 TORINO Carlos Tévez (30′) February 23, 2014 - 6:30 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Nicola Rizzoli Attendance:‬ 40292‎ Ventura: 'Toro deserved derby draw' Feb 23, 2014 Giampiero Ventura felt Torino deserved a draw against Juventus and would’ve had it with a late penalty. http://markting10.nl/ “It is rare to see Juventus struggle so much in this stadium, as they put three goals past Milan, Roma and Inter here,” he told Sky Sport Italia after a 1-0 result. “In the second half they barely had a shot on goal. There are regrets, as with a little more character we could’ve made more of our chances.” Omar El Kaddouri appeared to be tripped by Andrea Pirlo in the final minutes, but the referee waved play on. http://markting10.nl/ “Last season we conceded at the last minute, then earlier this term we lost to a goal that was offside. Now they tell me Vidal should’ve had a second yellow for handball. Seeing the footage now, I can say they were right, it was a penalty on El Kaddouri. “That’s not the point, as Toro have improved and showed they were willing to come here and play football, not just defend. We probably deserved a point, but the derby was always going to be a stepping stone in our growth process.” Ventura was asked why Torino appeared to be sitting back for much of the second half before pouring forward in the final half-hour. http://markting10.nl/ “We had planned to leave certain spaces so that we could then go three-against-three on the counter, which we should’ve made more of. “Unfortunately the goal came from a ball that slipped through a tiny gap, but these things can happen. We had decided beforehand to force the situation if we were trailing in the final 30 minutes based on our fitness conditions, as we couldn’t play at that tempo for 90. http://markting10.nl/ “It’s a shame looking back over the footage, as we could’ve equalised with that penalty and nobody could’ve complained. With no controversy, as Juventus are the strongest team in Serie A who play the best football, but over the last three derbies there have been incidents against us. There was the Jonathas incident, then an offside goal and now a penalty when we would’ve deserved a draw. “The results speak for Antonio Conte, he’s doing a great job and, considering our dimension in Serie A, we are doing very well too.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  20. JUVENTUS 1 - 0 TORINO Carlos Tévez (30′) February 23, 2014 - 6:30 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Nicola Rizzoli Attendance:‬ 40292‎ Conte: 'Juve adjusted for Toro' Feb 23, 2014 Antonio Conte revealed Juventus adjusted their tactics to limit Torino and was uncertain on the penalty controversy. http://markting10.nl/ Carlos Tevez secured a 1-0 victory for the Bianconeri, though Omar El Kaddouri appeared to be tripped by Andrea Pirlo in the final minutes. “I don’t see a fatigue problem. Inevitably these are very, very difficult games, as Torino had nothing to lose. Along with Verona they are the revelations of this campaign,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia. “In my view our game was tactically perfect, as we played with cool heads and hot hearts. We allowed Torino very few chances and tried to limit their counter-attacks, which are their main strengths. http://markting10.nl/ “Immobile, Cerci and El Kaddouri can hurt any opponents and we ran the real risk of letting them through if we weren’t 100 per cent concentrated. It was not simple and I am very happy with the response from the lads just three days after the Europa League game. “Now we have to focus on Thursday, as there will be a fiery atmosphere in Turkey and anyone who thinks we’ve already qualified is wrong. We need to score there as soon as possible. “Torino play an atypical 3-5-2, as it’s more of a 3-5-1-1 with one striker much wider than the other. Cerci as a forward is changing his characteristics, but then he cuts inside and can become devastating. I think we did a great job tactically to limit them.” http://markting10.nl/ Conte revealed the relative lack of crosses, instead playing ball to feet through the middle, was a tactical choice. “What we did tonight was not improvised, that’s for sure. We evaluated the situation. We needed the ball to reach the strikers, not for the strikers to come back to get the ball, as that left us enough room to get back and block off any counter-attacks or at least give them a lot more work to do.” Conte was shown the footage of the El Kaddouri incident from several different angles and sighed. http://markting10.nl/ “Let’s say El Kaddouri was prepared for it, but there was contact too. I’ll admit anything could’ve happened there – a penalty or a booking for simulation. Thankfully, the referee made the right decision for us!” he laughed. “Compliments to Torino for an extraordinary campaign and to Giampiero Ventura for his great work. I rarely give compliments, but they are well deserved in this case.” Juve maintained their nine-point advantage over Roma – who have a game in hand – but Conte confessed to being worried. http://markting10.nl/ “If you ask me if I’m more relaxed this season or this, I’ll be honest and say last year. We’re having a great campaign, but Roma are playing great football and have enthusiasm. Are they more dangerous than Napoli were last year? Yes. Definitely. “They don’t have any European commitments either, aren’t getting anything wrong and in many ways remind me of my first year at Juventus. We have to be very wary, as when we gift points like we did at Verona then it gives those behind us even more hope. “Roma sent us a message last night, we replied today and next week we’ll play away to Milan. What worries me is that we won’t get back from Turkey until Friday morning at 7am and then play on Sunday evening, so we’ll barely get any rest. “I know I might not be likeable to many, but I am very concentrated, focused and ferocious in my work. I think you have to be like that to achieve success.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  21. JUVENTUS 1 - 0 TORINO Carlos Tévez (30′) February 23, 2014 - 6:30 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Nicola Rizzoli Attendance:‬ 40292‎ Buffon: 'Tevez made the difference' Feb 23, 2014 Gigi Buffon complimented Torino for causing Juventus problems, but said “champion” Carlos Tevez made the difference. http://markting10.nl/ The Apache decided the 1-0 result in the Derby della Mole this evening. “It’s one of the few times Torino were able to play against us with no pressure, thanks to the great campaign they are having,” the goalkeeper told Sky Sport Italia. “It was a ‘real’ derby, quite an English-style one with the referee letting the action run. Compliments to Torino, as their performance made it really difficult for us. http://markting10.nl/ “In a complicated and balanced encounter like this, the difference is made by those moments of magic from a champion. We’ve got several and today Carlos was decisive.” However, Torino felt they deserved a penalty when Andrea Pirlo tripped Omar El Kaddouri. “From my position I didn’t see any actual contact, but even then not every contact has to be a penalty,” shrugged Buffon. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  22. JUVENTUS 1 - 0 TORINO Carlos Tévez (30′) February 23, 2014 - 6:30 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Nicola Rizzoli Attendance:‬ 40292‎ Conte concedes Torino could have had a penalty The Granata felt that they should have been awarded a spot-kick when Omar El Kaddouri went over in the area with 10 minutes to go in the Derby della Mole. Feb 23, 2014 Antonio Conte has admitted that Juventus could easily have conceded a penalty in the closing stages of Sunday's Serie A win over Torino. http://markting10.nl/ Carlos Tevez's first-half strike gave the hosts the lead in the Derby della Mole and although the Granata rarely threatened an equaliser, there was one scare for the Bianconeri with 10 minutes remaining when Omar El Kaddouri went down under Andrea Pirlo's challenge inside the penalty area. Conte conceded that Juve could have had few complaints if the referee had pointed to the spot but also argued that El Kaddouri's theatrical fall could also have resulted in a yellow card for the Moroccan. "Let's say El Kaddouri was prepared for it, but there was contact too," Conte told Sky Sport Italia. http://markting10.nl/ "I'll admit anything could have happened there; a penalty or a booking for simulation. "Thankfully, the referee made the right decision for us!" Juve now face a trip to Turkey for the second leg of their Europa League round-of-32 tie with Trabzonspor on Thursday, before returning to Italy to face AC Milan at San Siro on Sunday. http://markting10.nl/ Although nine points clear of Roma at present, Conte expressed concerns that his side's extra games could count against them in the run-in for the title. "Roma sent us a message last night [by beating Bologna], we replied today and next week we'll play away to Milan," he said. "What worries me is that we won't get back from Turkey until Friday morning at 07:00 and then play on Sunday evening, so we'll barely get any rest. http://markting10.nl/ "Roma don't have any European commitments, aren't getting anything wrong and in many ways remind me of my first year at Juventus. 23. JUVENTUS 1 - 0 TORINO Carlos Tévez (30′) February 23, 2014 - 6:30 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Nicola Rizzoli Attendance:‬ 40292‎ Juventus vs. Torino: 6 Things We Learned Feb 23, 2014 The match ended as it has since 2008: with a win for Juventus. Again, Torino failed to score against against them, a drought now dating 12 years. The derby is the oldest in Italy and also the most lopsided, and Juventus may regard Fiorentina, the team that inflicted their only loss in Serie A, as a bigger rival. Those two face each other in two weeks. http://markting10.nl/ This wasn’t a classic. Both teams traded chances, and like any derby, there were needless fouls and shouts for a penalty. Juventus dropped off in the second half and almost invited Torino to tie the match. Not often do they give opponents so much respect at their own stadium, let a lone a team with such a miserable record against them. http://markting10.nl/ “It is rare to see Juventus struggle so much in this stadium, as they put three goals past Milan, Roma and Inter here,” Torino manager Giampiero Ventura told Sky Sport Italia (h/t Football Italia) after the match. Here are the six things to take away from the derby. http://markting10.nl/ Carlos Tevez Is Scoring Again The year did not start too well for Carlos Tevez. He went the first six games without a goal, this after going scoreless in the Champions League. The 30-year-old broke that spell with two goals against Verona, and he scored the winner against Torino with a swift turn and kick of the ball at the edge of the box. Now, he has 14 goals in Serie A, tying Giuseppe Rossi, who injured his knee early in January. All but one of the goals came from open play. http://markting10.nl/ The beauty of Tevez is that he doesn’t wait for the ball to come to him. He runs back and into space, always looking for the right spot. He appeared to injure his finger, but he later told Sky Sport Italia (via GianLucaDiMarzio.com) that he is fine and that he will be able to play against Milan next Sunday. http://markting10.nl/ Misery Has a Friend in Torino Torino have only lost their encounters with Juventus by a single goal, but they haven't helped themselves. Too many shots went wide—three of their 15 shots were on target—and too many fouls were committed, some right outside the penalty area. Andrea Pirlo was given several chances to score another of his signature free-kicks, too. Ventura felt aggrieved with the officiating, via Sky Sport Italia's report. He thought the game was missing a penalty and a red card, one for a challenge made by Pirlo on Torino’s Omar El Kaddouri late in the game and the latter for a second yellow card that went unissued against midfielder Arturo Vidal for a handball. But the story here was almost inevitable. Torino hadn’t beaten Juve since the days when Antonio Conte played for the club back in 1995. http://markting10.nl/ Ciro Immobile, Alessio Cerci Fail to Impress Coach Ventura did not want his players to press forward and leave themselves exposed against a team that so heavily beat Inter and Roma before them, according to the Sky Sport Italia report. Only until the final half-hour did Torino truly threaten for the equalizer. Earlier in the game, Ciro Immobile thrashed the ball so hard—and wide—that it broke the rope suspending the net. His partner, Alessio Cerci, made a few runs to nowhere. Both of them make up one of the best partnerships in Serie A. They have been directly involved in 79 percent of the goals scored by Torino. This time, Italy manager Cesare Prandelli was watching, perhaps to see if one or both merited a place in the friendlies before the World Cup and perhaps in the competition itself. Neither player was truly influential, and maybe Torino rely on them a bit too much. http://markting10.nl/ A Win Is a Win for Juve There wasn’t much to like about the performance from Juventus. They were equally uninspiring in the match earlier in the week against Trabzonspor, but they won another important match in a season that’s quickly turning into one of the best ever in Serie A. Andrea Barzagli is the player that keeps the defence together. His game is mistake-free, and when he does leave a man alone, he rushes back to cover for the error. David Amoyal @DavidAmoyal More than Vidal, Pirlo, Tevez, Buffon, Pogba the one player Juve can't replace is Barzagli IMO- they are different team when he plays Gianluigi Buffon didn’t have to work too hard for the clean sheet, his 12th of the campaign, but Juve did afford Torino more time with the ball—especially as the game ended. http://markting10.nl/ Another Game, Another Reason to Like Martin Cáceres He has started just six games in Serie A with Juventus this season, but he deserves to play so much more. His stats were clean: 94 touches and a passing percentage of 95, second most of any player in the game. Caceres has scored an own goal, and he can bobble the ball, but he is strong in the air and smart with his clearances. He is quiet on the field, and equally when he’s not playing. He deputized for the injured Giorgio Chiellini, and unfortunately, he is ahead of Caceres in the hierarchy, but this 26-year-old is capable of playing in the bigger games, just as he did against Real Madrid in October. http://markting10.nl/ Vidal Suspended for Match at San Siro Vidal picked up a yellow card, and he was already one away from a suspension. He also risked a red card. Juventus will have to play Milan without him, and that may be OK. Kwadwo Asamoah has proved useful and effective on the flank, and he teed up Tevez for the goal. Claudio Marchisio also replaced Vidal as a substitute, and he could do the same next Sunday. Vidal could also play the entire match in Turkey this week against Trabzonspor, and Conte will get a chance to rotate the squad once again. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  24. JUVENTUS 1 - 0 TORINO Carlos Tévez (30′) February 23, 2014 - 6:30 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Nicola Rizzoli Attendance:‬ 40292‎ Another controversial Derby della Mole ends in a Juve victory Feb 23, 2014 For the second time this season, Juventus beat Torino 1-0, but both victories have come via controversial circumstances. Whilst it was an offside goal last September that infuriated the home team, this time around Toro had a legitimate penalty appeal waved off. For much of the match the Old Lady may have proved superior, but their inability to close off the game quickly left them desperately defending until the final whistle. http://markting10.nl/ Juventus started the match by displaying their strength and ability to possess the ball. Giampiero Ventura’s side, as we have come to expect from them in the big games, opted to sit deep, close down the spaces at the back and limit the chances offered to their opponents. By absorbing the pressure, they then awaited the opportunity to counter-attack or deliver a long ball to the likes of Alessio Cerci upfront in hopes of grabbing a vital goal. These particular tactics made it somewhat dull, in a match that should have set pulses racing considering the attacking football both teams are capable of playing. Juventus played their usual three men in midfield, but this time it was Arturo Vidal who was played on the left alongside Kwadwo Asamoah, whilst Paul Pogba sat on the other side, on the right. Predictably effective and fluid, they controlled the game without exerting too much energy, something one expects from a side forced to play every three days. The legs were heavy, the determination still there but the usual pizazz a little muted. Juve continued to play the way they know how, delivering those vertical balls through the middle in hopes of piercing their way through. http://markting10.nl/ However, despite the fact Torino defended in numbers, they committed several errors to facilitate Juve’s route to goal. It was surprising how often the visitors conceded free-kicks in dangerous areas of the pitch, whilst they granted the likes of Carlos Tevez so much time on the ball to penetrate their overcrowded defence. Once they did manage to reclaim possession, they didn’t act fast enough or seem to have clear ideas going forward and thus allowed Juve the opportunity to quickly rearrange themselves defensively. The Bianconeri by contrast, did an excellent job in halting the kind of danger their opponents can cause and made sure the ball was delivered to the forwards as opposed to forcing them to drop back and pick it up. Everything was done to avoid a Toro counter-attack and Juve did an excellent job in ensuring Cerci and Ciro Immobile received minimal service to impact the game. It comes as no surprise that the man to score Juve’s goal is the best at roaming between the lines -- Torino’s greatest weakness. Tevez is the antidote to solid defending and the manner in which he turned and struck dazzled the most neutral of neutrals. http://markting10.nl/ The early part of the second half went much the way it did in the first 45 minutes with Juventus controlling proceedings but that soon changed. Lulling the Old Lady into a false sense of security, Ventura’s men then raised their level of play and went on the attack with Giuseppe Vives taking more control of the game after the 65th minute. The Bianconeri, tired from their European exploits midweek, were eventually forced to sit deep and defend; incapable of producing the energy required to mount an attack of their own. Conte went so far as to bolster the midfield and Juventus adopted a 5-4-1 shape. Thankfully, their defensive work proved good enough to preserve their 1-0 lead but they were lucky to get away without conceding a penalty. Replays show Pirlo clipped Omar El Kaddouri. After a shaky defensive performance in recent games, and with the second half of the Verona game still haunting them, Juve did just enough to ensure all three points and earn their bragging rights. http://markting10.nl/ Sadly the yellow card Vidal received means he will miss next week’s match against Milan and when Conte was asked about the problems the team may face without him, the coach quickly replied that what worries him more is the little time the squad will have to recover from their Europa League trip to Turkey. Juventus will only arrive back in Turin on Friday morning and will have to take on the Rossoneri on Sunday evening in San Siro. They will be exhausted to say the least. Forced to rotate the squad, Juventus cannot afford to allow Trabzonspor the opportunity to show off their skills considering they will be playing at home, whilst a magnificent performance against Clarence Seedorf’s team is vital to ensure Juve keep up the pace and maintain the advantage over Roma. It’s an exhausting time for Italy’s champions. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  25. JUVENTUS 1 - 0 TORINO Carlos Tévez (30′) February 23, 2014 - 6:30 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Nicola Rizzoli Attendance:‬ 40292‎ Initial reaction and random observations Feb 23, 2014 Sunday night wasn't Juventus' best game. Far from it, actually. Maybe it's because we've been spoiled with beatdown after beatdown of opponents on the domestic front the past few months, maybe it's something else entirely. But either way, Juve didn't resemble the dominating force that have run roughshod over Serie A the past past four months. http://markting10.nl/ Because of all that, Juventus needed a moment of magic. They needed something to get them over the hump and into the lead once and for all. Carlos Tevez provided it. Tevez's 14th goal of the season not only moved him into a tie atop the Serie A scoring list with Giuseppe Rossi, but was the difference in Juventus' 1-0 win over city rival Torino in the Derby della Mole at Juventus Stadium. It was a simply stunning goal from a simply great player — one that has brought the two-time defending champions that extra something they've been missing under Antonio Conte. http://markting10.nl/ And for further confirmation of that, we turn to captain Gigi Buffon, who himself is a pretty good player in his own right. JuventusFC ✔ @juventusfcen #Buffon: Top players make the difference in tricky games. @carlitos3210 was the one who decided today's #JuveTorino. With the goal and the three points, Juve continued their derby dominance over Torino. But Sunday's match was anything but dominant. Both teams were sound defensively, limiting the potent attacks that each possess. It was just a defensive, tactical battle — one where Juve sat back and reacted to their opposition more than usual — in a hotly contested derby encounter. http://markting10.nl/ That's not the first or the last time it will happen between Juventus and Torino. That's for damn sure. Paolo Bandini @Paolo_Bandini Juventus have not lost a Turin derby since 1995. They have not even conceded a goal to Torino since 2002. And that couldn't have happened without the brilliance of Tevez. He sure has been one heck of a signing, huh. http://markting10.nl/ Random thoughts and observations • Nothing against Angelo Ogbonna, but how nice was it to have Andrea Barzagli and his glorious beard back in the starting lineup? I missed that guy. • And the guy who switched over to the other side of the three-man defense with Barzagli's return, Martin Caceres, was pretty good in his own right against Torino. I'll say it over and over again: It's such a luxury to have somebody like Caceres just waiting in the wings whenever Juve need him to play. Will he make mistakes? Sure, but the overall end product — like how he seemingly shut down Alessio Cerci on Sunday — is almost always something that helps Juve win games. JuventusFC ✔ @juventusfcen #Conte: We did a good job in containing the threat of Cerci with Caceres and Asamoah. #JuveTorino http://markting10.nl/ There was quite a bit of talk about the Cerci-Ciro Immobile partnership, almost as much as there was about how well Tevez and Fernando Llorente have played this season. But the two Toro strikers COMBINED for 50 touches against Juventus. Fifty total. For comparions sake, Andrea Pirlo had 97 touches in the game. Immobile and Cerci combined for five shots total — none of which were on target. OptaPaolo @OptaPaolo 29 - Ciro Immobile had 29 ball touches in #JuveToro, only one more than Gianluigi Buffon (28). Disappointing. • Just a question for the general public: How would you grade Tevez's goal celebration? I think I'd give it a solid 8 out of 10. http://markting10.nl/ • Giampiero Ventura was, of course, talking about the non-penalty when Omar El Kaddouri thought he was tripped by Pirlo in the penalty area. Just one question for Ventura: While there was contact between El Kaddouri and Pirlo, did he happen to see the absolute mess of the tackle that his player made? That was as much of a flop as there ever was one. Better luck next time, Omar. • Juventus unbeaten run update: 17 games, 44 goals scored, 9 goals allowed. http://markting10.nl/ This has been a Juventus unbeaten run update. • Sorry, Roma. We're back to plus 9. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
