  1. JUVENTUS 3 - 1 INTER Stephan Lichtsteiner (16′) Giorgio Chiellini (47′) Arturo Vidal (56′) Rolando 72′ February 2, 2014 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Gianluca Rocchi Attendance:‬ 38000‎ Chiellini: Juventus showed true mettle The Italy international felt the reigning champions were back to their usual best and was pleased with his goal. Feb 3, 2014 Giorgio Chiellini feels Juventus showed what they are made of in Sunday's 3-1 Serie A win over Inter after their disappointing performance against Lazio last week. http://markting10.nl/ The Old Lady had to settle for a 1-1 draw in their last league encounter, but bounced back with an impressive home-win over the Nerazzurri in Sunday's Derby d'Italia. "We wanted to get back on track following our draw against Lazio and immediately handled the game in the right manner. It was a true Juve performance," Chiellini told reporters. The Italy international was pleased with his goal as he made it 2-0 shortly after the break, yet stressed that Juventus should not have allowed Inter back in the game late in the second half. http://markting10.nl/ "My goal gave us a bit of breathing space and it's always pleasing to score against Inter in such an important match. "Inter's goal needs to serve as a lesson. It's not the first time we've run the risk of allowing opponents a way back into games we’ve already all but won and that can’t happen again in the future." Juventus hold a nine-point lead over Roma in Serie A, but the Giallorossi have a game in hand. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  2. JUVENTUS 3 - 1 INTER Stephan Lichtsteiner (16′) Giorgio Chiellini (47′) Arturo Vidal (56′) Rolando 72′ February 2, 2014 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Gianluca Rocchi Attendance:‬ 38000‎ Conte: Inter lucky to avoid mauling The Italian believes the Giuseppe Meazza side should be grateful for their goalkeeper keeping the score down. Feb 3, 2014 Antonio Conte feels that Juventus could easily have beaten Inter by a bigger margin than 3-1 in Sunday's Serie A encounter. http://markting10.nl/ Goals from Stephan Lichtsteiner, Giorgio Chiellini and Arturo Vidal gifted Juventus a three-goal lead before Rolando pegged one back for the visitors and Conte believes the Nerazzurri had goalkeeper Samir Handanovic to thank that things did not end worse for them. "We’re the league’s top scorers and could have netted more than three tonight. Handanovic did very well in certain situations," the Bianconeri coach said at a press conference. "I’ve always wanted for my teams to play on the front foot. It’s always better to play attacking football than sit back with men behind the ball. http://markting10.nl/ "We prepared every minute detail in the build-up to the game and I’m happy with the overall performance put in by the players. Credit to them, they did well. "It’s a pity about the goal we conceded, which gave us a few anxious moments towards the end. We need to keep the tension high all the way through until the end, all it takes is a fortuitous goal to open things up again." Juventus currently lead the Serie A table with 59 points from 22 games. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  3. JUVENTUS 3 - 1 INTER Stephan Lichtsteiner (16′) Giorgio Chiellini (47′) Arturo Vidal (56′) Rolando 72′ February 2, 2014 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Gianluca Rocchi Attendance:‬ 38000‎ Pirlo makes everything easy, says Lichtsteiner The right-back was full of praise for his team-mate after Sunday's victory over Inter, while he stressed that the Old Lady are gunning for European success. Feb 3, 2014 Stephan Lichtsteiner has hailed Andrea Pirlo in the wake of Juventus' 3-1 Serie A win over Inter on Sunday evening and stressed that the playmaker makes life easy for his team-mates with his intricate passing. http://markting10.nl/ The Switzerland international opened the scoring early in the first half after being set up by Pirlo and he was grateful to the midfielder for his fine assist. "I have to thank Andrea, who laid it on a plate for me. With his assists, everything becomes much easier," Lichtsteiner told the official club website. "I’m happy because it had been a while since I’d scored like that. In the heat of the moment, I didn’t think about whether to control or strike it straight away, I just acted instinctively." http://markting10.nl/ Lichtsteiner stressed Inter were no pushovers before adding that Juventus have set their sights on European success this term. "Inter are in a bit of difficulty, but they’re always tough opposition," he continued. "We played at a high tempo, only dropping towards the end, but with a 3-0 lead that was understandable. http://markting10.nl/ "We want to go on to big things in Europe, too. Everyone views us as favourites, but we know it won’t be easy. We’ll do our best, we’ve got no intentions of letting up in any competition." Juventus take on Trabzonspor in the Europa League round of 32. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  4. JUVENTUS 3 - 1 INTER Stephan Lichtsteiner (16′) Giorgio Chiellini (47′) Arturo Vidal (56′) Rolando 72′ February 2, 2014 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Gianluca Rocchi Attendance:‬ 38000‎ Inter have a lot to learn, admits Mazzarri The Nerazzurri coach says they are not at the desired level yet and was frustrated with the way they conceded two goals in their 3-1 defeat to Juventus. Feb 3, 2014 Walter Mazzarri has admitted that Inter still have a lot to learn after they were swept aside by Juventus in Sunday evening's Serie A encounter in Turin. http://markting10.nl/ Goals from Stephan Lichtsteiner, Giorgio Chiellini and Arturo Vidal helped Juventus to a three-goal lead before Rolando pulled one back. Mazzarri was quick to acknowledge that Inter simply made too many mistakes. "We have to keep working on our mistakes. We've got a lot to learn. We're playing football and have the right tactical approach and I'm trying to help the younger lads develop," Mazzarri stated at a press conference. http://markting10.nl/ "It's a year of growth, of assessments. We were missing some important players today, too. We need a win so that we can turn things around." The Inter coach then voiced his frustration with the way his side gave away the game as they conceded two sloppy goals. http://markting10.nl/ "I'm sorry about the way we conceded the second and third goals. It's annoying because at 1-0 we were still in the game. We hadn't given much away up until then," he continued. "I knew that the fierce pressing game Juve played in the opening stages would wane in the second half. But we conceded a sloppy second goal, a loose ball that we failed to hoof clear." http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  5. Juve’s contract renewal plan Feb 3, 2014 The giornalaccio rosa dello Sport suggest that February will see Juventus begin to work through a number of players’ contract renewals. http://markting10.nl/ Whilst Andrea Pirlo is see as all but signed off on a two-year extension to commit to the Bianconeri beyond this summer, the pink paper have listed a number of others in the squad set to open similar talks. Reserve goalkeeper Marco Storari is out of contract in June, with it seen that a new deal is very much on his determination, with the club listing a number of alternatives in his position should he opt to leave. Andrea Barzagli is seen as with a draft agreement to extend for one year already in place, whilst extensions for Giorgio Chiellini and Stephan Lichtsteiner to June 2017 are also seen as without obstacles. http://markting10.nl/ Paul Pogba remains a priority to renew, whilst Claudio Marchisio’s situation will also reportedly be evaluated, as well as Sebastian Giovinco. The latter’s current deal expires in June 2015, as do those of Mirko Vucinic and Fabio Quagliarella, so uncertainty on this trio remains. Whilst Antonio Conte’s contract also runs through to June 2015, Juve are seen as keen to extend that.
  6. JUVENTUS 3 - 1 INTER Stephan Lichtsteiner (16′) Giorgio Chiellini (47′) Arturo Vidal (56′) Rolando 72′ February 2, 2014 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Gianluca Rocchi Attendance:‬ 38000‎ 'Another brick in the Scudetto wall' Feb 3, 2014 Leonardo Bonucci has admitted that Sunday’s win over Inter is ‘another brick’ in the Scudetto wall. http://markting10.nl/ The Bianconeri went nine points clear at the top of the table after their 3-1 victory in the Derby d’Italia. However, the defender has insisted that his men have to focus on the next match against ‘revelatory’ Verona. “There are a thousand reasons why the Derby d’Italia is a game with a distinctive flavour,” he wrote on his official website. http://markting10.nl/ “We won the game and we did so with all our will – we did it as a true team. “We’ve put another brick in the wall towards our goal of the Scudetto. Now we have another final against Verona. http://markting10.nl/ “I think it’s safe to call them the revelation of the season and they are especially strong at home. “It’s going to be a tough battle, because for them it’s the game of the year. They’re going to give 200 per cent against us.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  7. JUVENTUS 3 - 1 INTER Stephan Lichtsteiner (16′) Giorgio Chiellini (47′) Arturo Vidal (56′) Rolando 72′ February 2, 2014 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Gianluca Rocchi Attendance:‬ 38000‎ ‘Juve stronger in three ways’ Feb 3, 2014 Gianluca Vialli believes that Inter yesterday were inferior to Juventus ‘physically, technically and intellectually’. http://markting10.nl/ The Old Lady picked up a relatively comfortable 3-1 win over the Nerazzurri in Week 22’s Derby d’Italia, to leave Sky Sport Italia pundit Vialli in no doubt about where the gaps between the two sides lie. “I did not expect Inter to win this match, but that they would play better, yes,” mused the retired striker post-match. “I think they have been inferior from a physical point of view, because Juventus always arrived first to the ball, they had a rate much higher than that of Inter. http://markting10.nl/ “Also from a technical point of view, and also from the intellectual point of view - Inter had no ideas for up to 75 minutes. “I do not want to exaggerate, though, because they are a team still under construction, but Pirlo was left too free to set up play and obviously the tactics did not work. “There was too little pressure on Juve’s defence when they looked to come out with the ball and there was almost nothing in attack, there was not enough.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  8. JUVENTUS 3 - 1 INTER Stephan Lichtsteiner (16′) Giorgio Chiellini (47′) Arturo Vidal (56′) Rolando 72′ February 2, 2014 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Gianluca Rocchi Attendance:‬ 38000‎ ‘Inter were in disarray’ Feb 3, 2014 Former Inter and Juventus forward Roberto Boninsegna has cast his eye over yesterday evening’s proceedings: “Inter were in disarray.” http://markting10.nl/ Week 22’s Derby d’Italia saw the Old Lady run out 3-1 victors at home to the Nerazzurri, watching by Boninsegna, who during his playing career had seven years with Inter and three with Juve. “That is a very strong Juventus and there is nothing to say, but yesterday I saw an Inter in disarray,” the 70-year-old has considered to reporters today. “This, however, does not detract from the merits of the Bianconeri, who have led Serie A for the past three years. http://markting10.nl/ “Of course, to see the Nerazzurri in this state does hurt, they are a team in shambles and to understand the situation we must see it from the inside. “The difficulties began a few days ago, with the Guarin-Vucinic exchange that did not go through, due to the protest of the Inter fans, which demonstrated the power of the supporters. “There were also tactical mistakes yesterday, just look at the goal for Lichtsteiner - Kovacic was on him and Pirlo was guiltily left alone. The table is clear, Inter at the moment are out of reach of all objectives. http://markting10.nl/ “Mazzarri? It is logical that the Coach should assume responsibility in moments like this, but it seems too soon to speak of his sacking.” The former striker was asked about Juve’s decision to pick up Dani Osvaldo despite not seeing one of Mirko Vucinic, Fabio Quagliarella or Sebastian Giovinco leave. http://markting10.nl/ “Sometimes abundance can cause problems and I do not think that Osvaldo has come to be on the bench. “Six strikers is a lot and maybe someone should have left. Now Conte will have to be good in handling this situation.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  9. JUVENTUS 3 - 1 INTER Stephan Lichtsteiner (16′) Giorgio Chiellini (47′) Arturo Vidal (56′) Rolando 72′ February 2, 2014 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Gianluca Rocchi Attendance:‬ 38000‎ Mazzarri: 'Kovacic was on Pirlo' Feb 2, 2014 Walter Mazzarri was very critical of Mateo Kovacic and Inter’s general “sluggishness” after a 3-1 defeat to Juventus. http://markting10.nl/ “I was annoyed at the way we conceded the second goal, as we had the opportunities to clear it and were too sluggish. Juventus were quicker to the ball, more aggressive and that made the difference,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “We need to focus on every little detail with great determination, the way Juventus do. When the going gets tough, they get going. Juve were more determined and aggressive, whereas we were sluggish and lazy. “We created chances and let’s not forget Rodrigo Palacio twice could’ve made it 3-2 to end with a siege on their goal.” http://markting10.nl/ Inter are without a single victory in 2014, earning two draws and four defeats between Serie A and Coppa Italia. “Unfortunately, we have a lot to learn, but I have faith we’ve got the right attitude, tactical approach and the younger players are growing. It’s just a shame the results aren’t coming. “As I said, it’s a year of growth and evaluation, today we were missing important players. We just need a victory to turn the tide, that’s all.” http://markting10.nl/ Andrea Pirlo appeared to run the show, especially in the first half, but Mazzarri implied the tactics prepared did not work because of Kovacic. “This game was very simple tactically, as there were duels all over the pitch. In those situations the players most accustomed to being at the top and to winning will win the duels. “I saw the possession almost equal, so it wasn’t dominated by Juventus, but the details do make the difference in these games. http://markting10.nl/ “I thought Kovacic was in the ideal position to play brilliantly, as he’d have more space when going deeper. We knew he had quality. “After Ruben Botta came in, Pirlo wasn’t quite so free. There was meant to be someone on him, Kovacic, and that person didn’t go enough, so he’d get stuck in-between and leave us a man down in midfield.” The Nerazzurri also struggled in defence, so was asked whether Walter Samuel, Andrea Ranocchia and Javier Zanetti could do better than Hugo Campagnaro, Rolando and Juan Jesus. http://markting10.nl/ “If Samuel, Ranocchia and Zanetti are in top form, then yes, they are probably better than the three who played tonight, but I have to take everything into account. “Rolando has been a revelation recently, playing very well indeed. Campagnaro is a guarantee and Juan Jesus is a young player who can become one of the best defenders in Europe if he keeps learning every day. “When it’s a work in progress, there are some players who aren’t sure whether they can stay or go, so a Coach has to take it all into account. Tonight I was without Hernanes, Cambiasso and Guarin.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  10. JUVENTUS 3 - 1 INTER Stephan Lichtsteiner (16′) Giorgio Chiellini (47′) Arturo Vidal (56′) Rolando 72′ February 2, 2014 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Gianluca Rocchi Attendance:‬ 38000‎ Conte: 'Juve always attack' Feb 2, 2014 Antonio Conte praised Juventus for their “attacking mentality” against Inter and explained how Daniel Osvaldo will help. http://markting10.nl/ Stephan Lichtsteiner, Arturo Vidal and Giorgio Chiellini were on target in a 3-1 Derby d’Italia victory this evening. “We won. That’s good. We prepared this game in every minute detail, including how they might mark Andrea Pirlo or not mark him by bringing Mateo Kovacic and Ricky Alvarez on him in turns,” Conte told Sky Sport Italia. “We played well and it’s just a shame we conceded that goal which created a bit of anxiety. People ask why I continue waving my arms like crazy on the touchline, it’s because I know it just takes one moment of fortune to score and the game is open again when the tension sets in. http://markting10.nl/ “We are the top scorers in Serie A, but could’ve had more goals tonight. Samir Handanovic did very well on several occasions and we weren’t as accurate as we could’ve been, but I was more interested in the performance and I’m happy with that.” Sky pundit Gianluca Vialli joked that Vidal, Paul Pogba and Claudio Marchisio score so many goals because Conte can teach them the tricks of the trade. “As a player I did like this role and going forward to replace the striker. That attacking bent was always in my mentality as a player and now as a Coach, as I always wanted to take the initiative. I say it’s better to lose a game by attacking – as we could’ve done at Lazio last week – than to draw while sitting behind the ball. http://markting10.nl/ “As a player I won five Scudetti, the Champions League and everything there was to win, so I can only wish they follow me and do even better. “It’s rare we go on the counter-attack, as we don’t have players with those characteristics. We study our opponents and how to limit their strengths, but still maintain our own strong points. “When attacking, our wingers go on the same level as the strikers. A 3-5-2 is variable and all down to the interpretation. There are others who use this system in a more defensive way and to go on the counter, but that’s not our style.” http://markting10.nl/ Osvaldo was signed on deadline day from Southampton, arriving on a free loan with option to buy for €19m. “Osvaldo was an opportunity that we took, as the striker desperately wanted Juventus and cut so much off his wages. We are happy to have a player who improves our quality in attack, as we have Serie A and the Europa League to challenge for. “There were some very well-defined hierarchies and some others who had been here a long time and perhaps needed a little competition to renew their enthusiasm. It was positive to know players wanted Juve so much that they’d reduce their wages to help it happen.” http://markting10.nl/ Fredy Guarin was about to arrive at Juve in exchange for Mirko Vucinic, but Inter pulled the plug. “Guarin was an opportunity too that had been created between the clubs. I didn’t make any specific requests, but if the opportunities arise on the market then we’d take them. It all stopped and we’re happy as we are now.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  11. JUVENTUS 3 - 1 INTER Stephan Lichtsteiner (16′) Giorgio Chiellini (47′) Arturo Vidal (56′) Rolando 72′ February 2, 2014 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Gianluca Rocchi Attendance:‬ 38000‎ Vidal: 'Juve start was key' Feb 2, 2014 Arturo Vidal scored in the 3-1 victory over Inter and said the difference was in the way Juventus started. http://markting10.nl/ “It was important to win against a team it is always difficult to face. Now we have to continue like this until the end,” the Chilean told Sky Sport Italia. “We started strong, unlike our performances against Roma in the Coppa Italia and Lazio in Serie A. We have proved how much we want to win the third consecutive Scudetto.” http://markting10.nl/ Mirko Vucinic was a late substitute and his Juve teammates tried to set him up for a goal against the club he nearly joined last week, but he only hit the upright. “This team is a family and it’s important Mirko stayed here, as we need everyone.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  12. JUVENTUS 3 - 1 INTER Stephan Lichtsteiner (16′) Giorgio Chiellini (47′) Arturo Vidal (56′) Rolando 72′ February 2, 2014 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Gianluca Rocchi Attendance:‬ 38000‎ Player Ratings Pirlo was one of the stars of the show as the Bianconeri cemented their place at the top of Serie A with a comfortable victory in the Derby d'Italia. Feb 2, 2014 JUVENTUS Marco Storari - Was given very little to do thanks to a combination of woeful finishing from Inter and sturdy defending from Juve. Could do little about Rolando's effort. Andrea Barzagli - Coped with the presence of Nagatomo easily. Looked to have suffered an injury in the second period though and had to be replaced. Leonardo Bonucci - Kept an eye on Palacio but wasn't troubled by the Argentine's limited aerial ability. Almost set up a grandstand finish with what would have been a fine own goal. Giorgio Chiellini - In the right place to slam home the second goal and was constantly a threat in and around the Nerazzurri area. Stephan Lichtsteiner - Took his goal like a seasoned centre forward, guiding a diving header beyond Handanovic to set the hosts on their way. Paul Pogba - Didn't impose himself on the game too much in the first half but burst into life in the second with a dominant display. ANDREA PIRLO - Imperious as ever, his assist for the first goal looked as effortless as it did artistic. His set pieces constantly caused problems for the Nerazzurri. Arturo Vidal - Looked a tad sheepish in the midfield after being scythed down by Kuzmanovic. Was fine to continue though and grabbed an important third goal. Kwadwo Asamoah - Gave the Inter defence something to fear down the right as he kept Jonathan on his toes with his pace. Carlos Tévez - Denied by a great double-save from Handanovic. Didn't make the most of his attacking opportunities and often lost the ball in and around the box trying to do too much. Fernando Llorente - Got involved when he could and had a header just clear the crossbar. http://markting10.nl/ Substitutions Martín Cáceres - Came on for the injured Barzagli and had to be on his toes as Inter pushed late on. Mauricio Isla - Came on late and didn't have much time to make an impact. Mirko Vučinić - Appeared late on and struck the post in stoppage time. http://markting10.nl/ FC INTERNAZIONALE Samir Handanoviç - Pulled off a fantastic double save to deny Tevez but was given no chance by Lichsteiner's well placed header. It was more of the same in the second half. Hugo Campagnaro - A difficult night for the former Napoli man who had to contend with the terrier-like Tevez constantly snapping at his heels. Easily out-muscled on too many occasions. Rolando - Not his best game defensively as Llorente got the better of him more times than he would have been comfortable with. Took his goal well though. Juan Jesus - Didn't have any success in curtailing Juve attacks down the flanks and all too often let the the home side attack from wide positions. Jonathan - His positioning was often questionable, allowing Juve in behind too often. Mateo Kovačić - The youngster still has a lot to learn at the top of level and he struggled in the centre of the park. Ricardo Álvarez - Will have been disappointed with misplaced passes and firing crosses behind for goal-kicks. Zdravko Kuzmanovic - His wild challenge on Vidal was much more threatening than anything he had to offer with the ball at his feet. Yuto Nagatomo - Saw a lot of the ball down the left flank but had very little success in creating opportunities for the Nerazzurri. Saphir Taider - Tried to be the hero with a couple of long distance efforts that never troubled Storari. Rodrigo Palacio - Isolated up top with very little support from the supporting Taider. Was given three glaring chance where he should have done better. http://markting10.nl/ Substitutions Danilo D'Ambrosio - Came on for his debut but it will be one he will want to forget as Inter struggled. Rubén Botta - Inter did noticeably improve with his introduction, although by then it was too little, too late. Diego Milito - Arrived just after the break as Inter went two up top, but didn't ever get the chance he craved. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  13. JUVENTUS 3 - 1 INTER Stephan Lichtsteiner (16′) Giorgio Chiellini (47′) Arturo Vidal (56′) Rolando 72′ February 2, 2014 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Gianluca Rocchi Attendance:‬ 38000‎ Juventus 3-1 Inter: 6 Things We Learned Feb 2, 2014 Juve took another step closer to a third successive scudetto with an emphatic 3-1 victory over Derby d'Italia rivals Inter on Sunday. http://markting10.nl/ The Bianconeri strolled to victory and led 3-0 with goals from Stephan Lichtsteiner, Giorgio Chiellini and Arturo Vidal. Inter were abject and hopeless at the back, but they managed to reduces the deficit through a Rolando goal, but it was too little, too late. Here are six things we learned. http://markting10.nl/ Pirlo Merits Extension Andrea Pirlo was magnificent on Sunday against Inter and proved once again why he deserves to receive an extension to his deal that expires in June. The Azzurri legend was in fine form against the Nerazzurri, spraying passes all over the pitch. The ball he played into the path of Lichtsteiner was sensational, and Italian commentary described it as half a goal, due to the little work that the Swiss international had to do once he arrived into the penalty area. Pirlo's game time will need to be managed, but if he can continue to put in 10 or so performances of this calibre, he will have two or three good years remaining in his glittering career. http://markting10.nl/ Asamoah Continues to Frustrate with Good and Bad Moments Kwadwo Asamoah is not totally comfortable on the left flank, but Antonio Conte trusts the Ghanaian to play out wide. It has to be said that Asamoah blows hot and cold, and his position remains a weak point of the team. Often his hesitancy will slow a move down and stagnate momentum created by the perfect timing of a Pirlo pass. http://markting10.nl/ On other occasions, Asamoah can inject a burst of pace into a move and force the opponents to gift possession back with his relentless pressing. It remains to be seen whether Asamoah is a player who can fully establish himself in this position and provide a bit more composure to help the 3-5-2 system succeed in Europe. It is also possible that Conte will continue to search for a left-sided player with more guile than Asamoah, despite the continued great results. http://markting10.nl/ Nagatomo Does Not Offer Enough from the Left in the 3-5-2 Yuto Nagatomo fails to offer enough from the left side of Inter's formation, which could part of the reason as to why Walter Mazzarri signed Danilo D'Ambrosio last month. The Japanese international is as fit as they come and works tremendously hard for the team, but Inter must require more if they are to improve on their mediocre current position (sixth). Often Nagatomo ignores teammates and fails to get his head up when he dribbles forward, isolating himself from other options. It is not to say Nagatomo cannot be useful to the team, but in the current setup, Nagatomo is not suited, so a change in personnel or a change in system must be implemented to benefit Inter's left wing. http://markting10.nl/ Hernanes Might Be Best off Being Deployed in a Deep Role Hernanes was unable to play on Sunday, but once his paperwork is cleared on Monday and he is ready to play for Inter, Walter Mazzarri must decide where to deploy the Brazilian. The former Lazio star was most seen in advanced areas, often as the Biancocelesti's trequartista, but it could be quite different when he pulls on a blue-and-black shirt. Inter are bare in the midfield due to an injury to Esteban Cambiassio and the drama surrounding Fredy Guarin's non-move away from the club during January. http://markting10.nl/ Hernanes has impressed in a deep role for Brazil, probably due to a wealth of options further up the pitch for the Selecao; however, this could also be his future for Inter. Because Zdravko Kuzmanovic, Saphir Taider and Mateo Kovacic could not hold on to the ball, their defence was constantly under severe pressure from a relentless Juve outfit. If Hernanes can be the bedrock of a possession-based game, Inter will begin to improve. http://markting10.nl/ Kovacic Is Not Ready to Flourish for a Club of Inter's Size Mateo Kovacic is a wonderful talent, but his Inter career has yet to take off. The Croatian is lauded as one of the best young players in Europe, but I feel that he is burdened by the expectations and the weight of the shirt, rather than being overwhelmed by the competition he is up against. Mazzarri has given the player plenty of opportunities, too, but having failed to show any encouraging signs that he can develop with Inter, the time for a change could be close. http://markting10.nl/ A loan move would be preferable, because a permanent deal could come back to haunt Inter. Kovacic needs a guaranteed place, perhaps with more assurances surrounding his place in the team. While he makes plenty of appearances for Inter, he cannot be guaranteed a start, let alone a starring role. http://markting10.nl/ Osvaldo's World Cup Place Could Be in Doubt Without Games Here Pablo Osvaldo may have jumped at the chance to play for the Italian champions, but it could prove a tough ask now to generate enough games to justify Cesare Prandelli keeping him in the squad, let alone the starting line-up. With Fernando Llorente and Carlos Tevez blossoming as a partnership and Mirko Vucinic welcomed back into the fold and known to be a favourite of Antonio Conte, Osvaldo will have to discard his ego and be patient at a club this size. http://markting10.nl/ As while his behaviour was questioned at Southampton, he was at least guaranteed a start and opportunities to work his way into some fine form ahead of the World Cup. Osvaldo now must attempt to force his way into a dominant side whereby the starting line-up appears settled after another superb result and performance. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

JUVENTUS 3 - 1 INTER Stephan Lichtsteiner (16′) Giorgio Chiellini (47′) Arturo Vidal (56′) Rolando 72′ February 2, 2014 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Gianluca Rocchi Attendance:‬ 38000‎ Juventus unstoppable as they pick up Derby d'Italia win Feb 2, 2014 When it comes to the Derby d'Italia, tension envelopes the surrounding environment highlighting the tense relationship between the two rivals. Two sides with two sets of passionate fans vociferously hating one another, a victory is of the utmost importance in this match of all matches. For Juventus, a win was all they could envisage and victory was exactly what they managed when they defeated their foes 3-1 to demonstrate domestic invincibility. http://markting10.nl/ Fluid, composed and rehearsed, the Old Lady quickly demonstrated why she's the best there is in Italy. With the wing-backs pushing forward to offer alternatives and Andrea Pirlo boasting impeccable vision, the home side needed only 15 minutes before a perfect Stephan Lichtsteiner header opened the scoring. Always looking for that perfect penetrative pass and using their strength to hold up the ball to bring in the others, Juventus displayed teamwork and efficiency, making their time on the ball count. Inter, meanwhile, despite possessing the ball quite often, struggled to create opportunities. The problem with Walter Mazzarri's sides is that they often prioritise defence over attack. Sacrificing devastating attacking play to focus on defence isn't a problem per se, but it becomes one when the side in question is susceptible to shoddy defending. The only way one can forgive a cautious approach is if the side can keep the clean sheet, can hold off the opponent or can demonstrate strength and understanding at the back -- Inter failed on all occasions. http://markting10.nl/ Sides should concentrate on their defence, but balance is the key and asking attacking players to sacrifice their talent going forward to focus on their weaknesses creates problems. Mateo Kovacic, for one, is not made to play so deep and it was obvious on Juve's first goal that he’s not the best when it comes to defending. What he does provide is ingenuity and intelligence going forward -- two qualities Inter lacked for much of the night. Rather than playing him further up the pitch and allowing him the freedom to express himself, Mazzarri opted to highlight the player's weaknesses instead. Inter lacked the necessary ideas to go forward. In the first half especially, when the Nerazzurri were in possession and pushing forward, Juventus closed down the spaces well leaving them often opting to pass laterally or backwards. That vertical pass required was never quite found. Meanwhile, Rodrigo Palacio might as well have given the audience a perfect rendition of "all by myself". With his attacking teammates asked to play deep, there was little help afforded to the player when his side pushed forward, forcing him to do it all alone. Defensive errors seemed to be the only way for Inter to find a way through. http://markting10.nl/ In the second half it looked like the away team attempted to remedy the situation by playing their attackers further forward but before they could even settle in, Juventus doubled their lead via a corner. Paul Pogba's ability to use his strength and hold up the ball allowed Giorgio Chiellini to strike and manage Juve's second with his right foot. With Arturo Vidal managing the third, the Bianconeri demonstrated one key thing -- their desire to be the one who scored. Whether it be Chiellini's initial attempts and then his goal or Vidal striking from the knock down, there was real determination shown by the home side. However, Inter managed a consolation goal and that goal in some way changed the dynamic of the game. For one thing, they felt more confident when attacking, throwing more men forward while Juventus lost Andrea Barzagli, and with him the composure the centre-back offers the side. http://markting10.nl/ Juventus started to feel anxious and did not seem assured at the back. Allowing the Nerazzurri opportunities from set pieces, there were several occasions when the Bianconeri seemed to nod off for a few moments, losing concentration. However, making the necessary changes, Mirko Vucinic came on and nearly made it four to show that regardless of what happened in the transfer market, he is always ready when called upon. Again, Inter were lucky defensively but it goes without saying, Juventus are simply on another level. Scoring 25 goals in their last eight games, this is Juve's Scudetto to lose. Inter not only need to invest but more importantly, play a game that highlights the strengths rather than the weaknesses of their side. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  15. JUVENTUS 3 - 1 INTER Stephan Lichtsteiner (16′) Giorgio Chiellini (47′) Arturo Vidal (56′) Rolando 72′ February 2, 2014 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Gianluca Rocchi Attendance:‬ 38000‎ Derby romp underlines gulf between Juve and Inter Feb 2, 2014 TURIN, Italy -- The 162nd Derby d'Italia between Juventus and Inter Milan proved to be no contest on Sunday night as the Bianconeri extended their lead over Roma at the top of Serie A to nine points with a 3-1 win in a one-sided encounter. http://markting10.nl/ More pertinently, though, they underlined a gulf which has opened up between them and their old rivals. In November 2012, Inter arrived in Turin to face a Juventus side unbeaten in 49 games, a run which spanned three seasons. The Bianconeri had never lost a single Serie A game in the Juventus Stadium, either. Until then. A brace from Diego Milito and a late Rodrigo Palacio goal cancelled out Arturo Vidal's first-minute opener to break both records and thrust Inter into the race for the title. It proved to be a turning point in both teams' season, albeit not as you would have expected. Inter won just seven more games and slipped to a ninth-place finish while Juve won 17 and secured a second straight Scudetto with, all said, a 33-point advantage over the Nerazzurri. http://markting10.nl/ This weekend a similar gulf existed prior to kickoff. Twenty-three points separated the two sides coming in, and only 21 games had been played. The gulf between the two sides appears to be growing rather than reducing. Sunday's comfortable defeat was not in the script Inter president Erick Thohir was reading when he took control of the club last November. Only seven points separated the two clubs then, while some Inter fans still harboured dreams of a serious challenge for the Scudetto. His fanfare arrival, ending 18 years of Massimo Moratti rule, was met with muted enthusiasm -- muted because the prevailing mood was one of disappointment at Moratti's departure even though Thohir's "big business" talk still struck a note. Now, his initial promises of Champions League glory within three years ("We'll be in the final in Milan!") seem more misplaced than a blue and black flag in the Curva Sud of the Juventus Stadium. Inter fans have grown sick of the word "business." The only business they want to see their club doing is on the field, yet they are not delivering on either front. http://markting10.nl/ Still reeling from the mere thought of a planned (and failed) Fredy Guarin-Mirko Vucinic swap between the two clubs, Inter's fans are questioning more than ever Thohir's business sense -- the arrival of Hernanes from Lazio has done little to placate them. Meanwhile, Juve took Pablo Daniel Osvaldo on loan until the end of the season, from right under the noses of Inter, who were so keen on the Italy forward when he left Roma for Southampton in the summer. With five strikers already on the books, that seemingly unnecessary move looks like Juve teasing Inter in much the same way they did on the field. The halftime score line of 1-0 to the hosts may not have expressed it so vividly, but it was a monologue. Carlos Tevez could have given Juve an early lead like Vidal's in 2012, but Samir Handanovic kept him out twice before Giorgio Chiellini eventually hooked the second rebound over the bar. Met with a standing ovation each time he approached the corner flag to take a set piece, Andrea Pirlo then conjured up one of those typical passes which nobody else sees to put Stephan Lichtsteiner in for a diving header, one which he guided expertly and accurately beyond Handanovic's reach. After 15 minutes, it was 1-0. http://markting10.nl/ You could be forgiven for not noticing that Juve No. 1 Gianluigi Buffon was suspended and replaced by Marco Storari. Not even when Rodrigo Palacio had the goal at his mercy five minutes before the interval did the calendar pin-up need to intervene. It was a trend which continued into the second half, one that saw the hosts finally transform their superiority into goals and do so with a nonchalance which suggested they could have added even more. In fairness, Inter did give them a helping hand, too, allowing Paul Pogba first to power his way through and then failing to clear the danger as Chiellini bagged his third goal of the season. It was Pogba again who proved too much of a handful for the Nerazzurri back line, spreading fear before Vidal struck Juve's third with the Inter back line caught watching the ball. http://markting10.nl/ Rolando did pull a goal back for Walter Mazzarri's men, his shot taking a deflection on its way past Storari in the 72nd minute. Vucinic then tried to rub further salt in Inter's wounds, striking the post late on against a side he could have been lining up for Sunday night. That might just have been too much for the Nerazzurri faithful to take, and so it was another 3-1 between these two historic foes -- just like the one in November 2012, only much has changed since that night. Twenty-six points is now the gap separating them in the standings, and it's a gap that seems most likely to grow. It seems like the only way Inter can get close to Juve these days is in an alphabetized list. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  16. JUVENTUS 3 - 1 INTER Stephan Lichtsteiner (16′) Giorgio Chiellini (47′) Arturo Vidal (56′) Rolando 72′ February 2, 2014 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Gianluca Rocchi Attendance:‬ 38000‎ Juventus 3-1 Inter Review – All Is Right, Once More Feb 2, 2014 Juventus absolutely needed a result today. After a match last week which was equal parts inspiring and disappointing, fighting back a man down to draw Lazio at the Olimpico, the lead at the top was cut down to 6 points. While many Laziale were likely remiss about their team doing bitter rivals Roma a favor, the pressure suddenly increased on Juve. http://markting10.nl/ MATCH ANALYSIS by John Cascarano Roma, much like the version of Juve during Antonio Conte’s maiden season, lack the European distraction after all. To make Juventini bite their nails even harder, Roma would be playing at home versus Parma earlier in the day. But then a funny thing happened — torrential downpour fell over Rome, and the gaping, water-logged rented space i lupi call home could not be made fit for calcio in the face of mother nature. The match was stopped shortly into the first half without a goal scored. Many Juventini on the interwebs expressed their chagrin at the decision, in light of examples dating back to Perugia in 2000 to Istanbul just two months ago. However, this could have turned out far better for Juventus, who suddenly had a golden opportunity increase the gap to nine full points, shifting the pressure back to Roma despite the game in hand. The team got the memo. Juventus played tough from the first whistle. They controlled the ball, and played their game, taking it to Inter. Without any of the weather issues faced in Rome, the creativity Juventus possesses in spades from the midfield was well on display. It culminated rather perfectly with Andrea Pirlo, who followed a long line of players who are, you know, “above average” to “exceptional” (and usually Italian), leaving Inter at a young age to flourish. In Pirlo’s case, he became one of the greatest playmakers the peninsula has ever produced. His curling chip pass hit his moving target, Stephan Lichtsteiner, with the precision of an AIM-9 Sidewinder. The Swiss Express did the rest, perfectly heading the ball past the grasp of Samir Handanovic. http://markting10.nl/ One. Nil. The most common scoreline ever in the Derby D’Transfer Failure D’Italia. And that would essentially be the first half. Juventus would continue the pressure in Conte workmanlike fashion. With the exception of a frightening counter-attack at around the 40’ mark, in which Rodrigo Palacio skied his shot, Inter had no real chances. The half belonged to Juve, personified by a thunderous shot from Kwadwo Asamoah, who followed up on his own rebound off the fists of Handanovic like he was friggin Lebron James or something. Two very short minutes of extra time could not produce another goal, despite a golden opportunity from Giorgio Chiellini. Though the center back handled the ball on his effort, his run looked more striker than defender, dare I say conjured images of Beckenbauer or Baresi. However shortly after the beginning of the second half, after Juve continued to keep the pressure on and earned another corner, Chiellini made it count. I have often mused about how Serie A is re-calibrating back to normal post calciopoli; how things are going back to normal. Nowhere is this exemplified more than Inter’s continuing to purge itself of whatever talent it produces, and I frequently think about how not too long ago the management let Phillipe Coutinho go in lieu of Ricky Alvarez. Suddenly it dawned upon me. http://markting10.nl/ John @cascarano Wow, I think Chiellini is a better striker than Ricky Alvarez. And speaking of strikers, how about that Fernando Llorente fella from Bilbao who’s holdup play (#YOLLO) sparked the third goal, scored by none other than Arturo “I couldn’t start at Roma” Vidal? Yada yada yada, if you happen to own a horse, don’t let it near me unless you’d like it beaten to death and beyond. Anyway ladies and gentlemen, this is the top player that San Beppe was trying to sign in the summer of 2012. Inter did make it INTEResting at least, towards the end (see what I did there?). Indeed, this lack of a perfect afternoon has become too common of a theme this season for my liking. Yet another defensive lapse of concentration resulted in a Rolando goal at the 72’ mark, and Inter was able to keep the pressure on for the next several minutes. While remaining the undisputed reigning champions of Italy, let’s be honest — these types of mistakes are the reason Juventus are currently out of the Champions League. http://markting10.nl/ LE PAGELLE by By Adam Digby, as seen on Sulia Marco Storari 6.5 - With Gigi Buffon suspended, Storari came in & whether it is his nervousness or the fact he isn’t Superman again brought a less than convincing defensive display. Not the guarantee he once was as Juve’s number two. Andrea Barzagli: 7.0 - Unflappable as ever, whether covering his position or the mistakes of others, his calmness is needed in this team, especially in game like this. His absence was noted almost immediately after his substitution. Leo Bonucci: 6.0 - Made a few first half errors, prompting the usual twitter meltdown that rarely follows anyone else’s blunders. Giorgio Chiellini: 7.0 - Back after injury & suspension, and how! The heart of the team was beating strongly tonight, a heart epitomised by the big number three. An solid display in defence punctuated with a goal, does it get any better? Stephan Lichtsteiner: 7.5 - Back at his trolling best, who else would you like to see on the score sheet but the Swiss international? He lives for this stuff doesn’t he? Arturo Vidal: 7.5 - After a few subdued performances from the Chilean, he was bang on form tonight, grabbing a goal while completely bossing the Nerazzurri midfield. Andrea Pirlo: 7.5 - Some days, Pirlo leaves you completely out of superlatives. Today was that day, that was THAT pass! Paul Pogba: 7.0 - Encouraged to shoot on sight by a crowd hoping for another Pog-BOOM, the young Frenchman was composed for most of the match, making very few errors. Kwadwo Asamoah: 7.0 - The Ghanaian was the player sacrificed in the last game to allow Storari to come on, but showed here just how vital he has become, balancing Lichtsteiner’s forward bursts brilliantly & dominating his side of the field. Carlos Tevez: 7.0 - The Juventus number ten did everything you could ask of him tonight in a performance that shows the difference between these two sides. Even Juve’s most gifted players are engaged & work for the good of the team. Fernando Llorente: 7.0 - fter saving a vital point with a wonderful header v Lazio, tonight we saw his full repertoire. Incredible skill in holding the ball up & finding team-mates in a way very few other strikers can. Antonio Conte: 8.0 - (John again) Firmly to blame for the elimination in the Coppa Italia at the hands of Roma, Antonio Conte’s spirit showed itself in his players last week in Rome against Lazio, and again today. Although the lack of concentration is a continuing concern, Conte made himself a presence on the sideline. Case in point, when Paul Pogba — subject to speculation of massive bids from richer sides on the continent began to lose concentration — Conte made sure he heard it from the touchline. Pogba obediently responded. I don’t think the young Frenchman would respond so positively to just anyone. ANALYSIS WRAP-UP by John Cascarano It’s amazing how quickly things change. From 2007 to 2010, Inter enjoyed a run as kings of Italy that would have seemed unprecedented just months prior. That they arrived there on the back of a scandal that was not, or worse a conspiracy to place them towards the top, is telling — considering where they were immediately before and where they’ve been since. Now Juve are on pace to win their third consecutive Scudetto this side of World War II, and all seems right with the world right now. The Old Lady entered today 23 points ahead of those slithery snakes from Milan, the largest pre-game gap at any time in the 3-points for a win era. Now 26 points out of first place, Inter are not even in Europa League zone at present. Having avoided a January funk for the first time in years, Juventus are firmly in the driver’s seat and can afford to put some eggs into the Europa basket. This is now Inter’s 100th loss all time against Juventus. But who’s counting? http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  17. JUVENTUS 3 - 1 INTER Stephan Lichtsteiner (16′) Giorgio Chiellini (47′) Arturo Vidal (56′) Rolando 72′ February 2, 2014 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Gianluca Rocchi Attendance:‬ 38000‎ Initial reaction and random observations Feb 2, 2014 There was a lot of talk entering the campaign's second edition of the Derby d'Italia on Sunday night in Turin. Probably more than usual due to what went on between the two clubs off the field when the transfer window was open. "Could Inter roll into Juventus' house and cause some problems?" they said. http://markting10.nl/ Not so fast, my friends. With that, order was restored in Italy. A red-hot atmosphere at Juventus Stadium was the perfect surrounding for what went down on the field Sunday night. Juventus dominated Inter for 60 minutes, taking a 3-0 lead along the way behind goals from Stephan Lichtsteiner, Giorgio Chiellini and Arturo Vidal. Even with Inter finding some sign of existence in the final 20 or 25 minutes of the match, they finished with just two shots on goal. Marco Storari tried his damnedest to pull a Gigi Buffon and not do anything for a full 90 minutes, but a couple of noticeable defensive breakdowns prevented Juve recording a shutout without facing any kind of pressure on goal. http://markting10.nl/ Overall, however, there was no doubting who the better team was for the vast majority of the game. And there was no doubting that the final score was a clear indicator of just how much better Juve were than their black and blue rivals from Milan. JuventusFC ✔ @juventusfcen #Conte: I'm happy. We scored three but could have had even more. #JuveInter I know, Antonio. I know. There were some frustrating moments, but an overall solid job as usual. But you know what will make Antonio smile a little bit more than he already is after Sunday night's dismantling of Inter? This little stat right here... Serie A News @TransfersCalcio Juventus has now beaten Inter 100 times in all official competitions after today Glad we could help. We're back up to plus-9, you guys. http://markting10.nl/ Random thoughts and observations •I will start the randomness with this: I think Antonio Conte made the right call playing Andrea Pirlo from the opening whistle against Inter. Something is just telling me it worked out quite well. http://youtu.be/BVKWF5QmVSg Ah, right. That's a pretty good reason right there. There's my Man of the Match. Ninety-four touches, 84 percent pass completion. Pirlo was simply superb. •Can Leonardo Bonucci eliminate some of these silly mistakes he's making lately? That'd be great. http://markting10.nl/ •It seems like in every preview for the last month I've highlighted the importance of Juventus' two wingbacks. Against Inter, they proved once again what this team can do when their two wingers are some of the best players on the field. Lichtsteiner and Asamoah were great, running wild up and down the flanks. Inter had no answer for both of them, plain and simple. •Just singling out Lichtsteiner for a second: How good of form is he in right now? He's been absolutely phenomenal the past month or two. If it isn't an assist, he's scoring a goal like tonight. •Can we get Carlos Tevez a goal, please? He hasn't found the back of the net since Juve's 4-1 win over Atalanta on Dec. 22. Not to say he's paying poorly, because he clearly isn't. But you just kinda get a gut feeling that whenever he breaks his 2014 duck, the goals will start flowing again like they were in the first half the season. http://markting10.nl/ • Ray Hudson pointed this out around the 10-minute mark: Since the first time these two teams played this season, Juventus have put 23 points in between themselves and Inter. Make that 26 after Sunday. • Juventus home record this season: 11 games, 11 wins, 33 goals scored, 7 goals allowed. I'd say that's a pretty good tally. Feel free to keep things going, gents. http://markting10.nl/ • Juventus unbeaten streak update: 14 games, 38 goals scored, 6 goals allowed. This has been a Juventus unbeaten streak update. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  18. JUVENTUS 3 - 1 INTER Stephan Lichtsteiner (16′) Giorgio Chiellini (47′) Arturo Vidal (56′) Rolando 72′ February 2, 2014 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Gianluca Rocchi Attendance:‬ 38000‎ Juve Cruise Past Inter 3-1 Feb 2, 2014 Juventus continued their pursuit of another Serie A championship with a comprehensive 3-1 victory over Inter Milan at the Juventus Stadium. http://markting10.nl/ Juventus kicked off with the style and intimidation that we know all too well from the Italian champions, and Inter Milan struggled to keep up with Andrea Pirlo and company as they went through the motions of testing the visitor’s defence. Alas, it was only 15 minutes into the match when the inexperienced Mateo Kovacic lost his marker and allowed Stephan Lichtsteiner to break free in the box. Andrea Pirlo then kindly obliged with a wonderful through ball, leaving the full back with nothing more to do than simply guide his header into the back of the net. Juventus had their lead, and it was well deserved. http://markting10.nl/ Yet the most dangerous thing for any side is to score in the first 20 minutes. That was all too evident for the Old Lady as they took their foot of the gas and allowed Inter to slowly prod around the midfield and search for a response. The full extent of the visitor's stumbling attack was a poorly aimed shot from Rodrigo Palacio just five minutes from time that could have ended up in the back of the net on another day. However, it was Juventus who went into the break with a well deserved lead. The second half began in much the same manner as the first with a full-on blitz from the home side, which resulted in a goal from none other than Giorgio Chiellini within the first two minutes of the half. A rebound from the opening corner of the half came back in to the Inter box and allowed the towering defender the time and space to knock home with his weaker foot. Inter were two goals down before they knew where they were. http://markting10.nl/ Then things fell apart. Eight minutes later, a throw-in for Juventus found the stronghold of Fernando Llorente's feet. He then passed the ball on to Paul Pogba. The thundering midfielder then hit a misguided shot straight at Samir Handanovic, only for Arturo Vidal to latch up the rebound and knock home for Juventus' third straight goal. Yet that wasn't the end of things, as Inter found no more than a fool's amount of hope when Rolando knocked home from a rebound in the box following a stray corner late in the second half. The goal came just after the 70th minute, and alongside the introduction of Diego Milito, the visitors looked as though the wind was finally in their sails. http://markting10.nl/ The late rally saw mischief throughout the Juventus final third, amounting to a golden opportunity from Palacio, who, as mentioned, knocked the ball over from a poor header just five minutes from time. That was their chance to pull something back from the game, and they failed to take advantage of it. Antonio Conte's side now sit atop of the Italian top division with nine points between them and second-placed Roma, who of course have a game in hand. This was a complete win that showed the true extent between the talent within both these sides. http://markting10.nl/ Player Ratings JUVENTUS Storari GK 7 Barzaghi CB 7 Bonucci CB 6 Chiellini CB 8 Lichtsteiner RWB 8 Asamoah LWB 7 Pogba CM 7 Pirlo CM 9 Vidal CM 8 Llorente ST 6 Subs Martín Cáceres CM 6 Mauricio Isla CM 5 Mirko Vucinic ST 6 http://markting10.nl/ INTER Handanovic GK 7 Campagnaro CB 6 Rolando CB 7 Juan Jesus CB 5 Jonathan RWB 6 Nagatomo LWB 5 Kuzmanovic CM 6 Taider CM 7 Kovacic CM 6 Alvarez AMC 6 Palacio ST 5 Subs Danilo D'Ambrosio CM 5 Diego Milito ST 6 Rubén Botta CM 4 http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

JUVENTUS 3 - 1 INTER Stephan Lichtsteiner (16′) Giorgio Chiellini (47′) Arturo Vidal (56′) Rolando 72′ February 2, 2014 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Gianluca Rocchi Attendance:‬ 38000‎ Lichtsteiner helps Bianconeri brutalise sorry Nerazzurri Feb 2, 2014 Juventus thrashed Inter 3-1 at the Juventus Stadium on Sunday evening in Serie A. http://markting10.nl/ Stephan Lichtsteiner opened the scoring for the Bianconeri early in the first half, with Giorgio Chiellini and Arturo Vidal adding to the lead in the second. Though Rolando did managed a consolation for the Nerazzurri. The home side were first to threaten as Kwadwo Asamoah headed the ball back into the box from a corner, Carlos Tevez got on the end of it and it took a double save from Samir Handanovic to deny the Argentinian. Giorgio Chiellini fired over on the third attempt. Tensions between the sides were raised as Zdravko Kuzmanovic went sliding in late on Arturo Vidal, though the Serbian only received a yellow card. http://markting10.nl/ Inter had very little impact in the final third of the pitch with Juve dominating possession and territory, with the breakthrough coming on the 16th minute. Andrea Pirlo played a beautifully weighted ball over the top and Lichtsteiner ghosted behind the defence to head casually past an outstretched Handanovic. As the midway point of the first half came, the Nerazzurri were struggling to get out of their own half, and when they did, any chances were quickly snuffed out by a commanding Juve backline. http://markting10.nl/ With the first half coming to a close, Inter did have a guilt-edged chance on the counter-attack. A three on two situation developed and Mateo Kovacic sent Rodrigo Palacio clear on goal, but the Argentinian could only blast over the bar from close range. While at the other end Handanovic came to the rescue for Inter once more as he saved a long range Tevez effort, before Chiellini and Asamoah also tested the Slovenian stopper. Then moments into the second half Juve scored their second, this time Chiellini wasnt denied by the goalkeeper. http://markting10.nl/ A poor clearance from a corner by Yuto Nagatomo was poked back into the area and after a bounce off Paul Pogba, the Bianconeri captain was in the right place at the right time to smash the ball home from close range. Just nine minutes later it was three. Fernando Llorente knocked a throw-in down into the path of Pogba, whose shot was spilled by Handanovic into the path of the onrushing Vidal, who blasted the ball into the back of the net. The game receded into a lull with Antonio Conte’s men seemingly content with the result, and Inter unable to make any headway in the match. http://markting10.nl/ The Nerazzurri then claimed a consolation after a corner bobbled in the box and fell to Rolando who fired past an astonished Marco Storari. To their credit Inter did come out of their shells more, though more due to Juve sitting back, and did try to claw their way back into the game firing in a plethora of crosses, but Leonardo Bonucci and co. were rarely put in any danger. Palacio did have an excellent chance to get Inter’s second, but, unmarked and with a close range header, he ballooned over the bar. http://markting10.nl/ Inter piled on the pressure and Rolando forced Storari into an easy save, while at the other end Mirko Vucinic rattled the post in time added on. The result puts Juventus nine points clear of second-placed Roma, though the Bianconeri have played a game more. Meanwhile Inter slip to sixth position after being leapfrogged by Verona, who defeated Sassuolo earlier in the day. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111

JUVENTUS 3 - 1 INTER Stephan Lichtsteiner (16′) Giorgio Chiellini (47′) Arturo Vidal (56′) Rolando 72′ February 2, 2014 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Gianluca Rocchi Attendance:‬ 38000‎ Juve dominate Derby d'Italia Juventus resumed their victory march by sweeping Inter aside 3-1 with an inspirational Andrea Pirlo pulling the strings. Feb 2, 2014 The rivalry between these clubs escalated further this month when Inter suddenly terminated the exchange between Fredy Guarin and Mirko Vucinic. The Colombian is still shaken from the experience and therefore not called up tonight, while Hernanes’ transfer paperwork hadn’t come through yet and Esteban Cambiasso was injured. Gianluigi Buffon sat out a ban after his red card in the 1-1 draw with Lazio, a result that ended Juve’s 12-match Serie A winning streak. The Nerazzurri were without a win in 2014, earning two draws and three defeats in all competition. http://markting10.nl/ Within three minutes a corner fell to Carlos Tevez, forcing Samir Handanovic into a stunning double save from point-blank range, then Giorgio Chiellini fired over under pressure. Zdravko Kuzmanovic received a yellow card for a very late sliding tackle on Arturo Vidal. The Juve pressure paid off, as Andrea Pirlo’s inspired ball over the top allowed Stephan Lichtsteiner to sprung the offside trap with a diving header into the far bottom corner. The Inter defence was caught completely wrong-footed. Paul Pogba blasted over the bar and Kuzmanovic narrowly avoided an own goal from a corner, while Tevez fired straight at Handanovic after a promising counter-attack. http://markting10.nl/ Inter had a great chance to equalise on 40 minutes when Mateo Kovacic burst forward and threaded through for Rodrigo Palacio, but La Trenza’s finish was over the bar. Moments later Handanovic had his gloves stung by a Kwadwo Asamoah scorcher. The second half had barely started when Juventus doubled their lead. A Pirlo corner was cleared weakly by Yuto Nagatomo and knocked back in by Vidal and Pogba, where Chiellini eventually fired in from six yards. http://markting10.nl/ Ricky Alvarez rolled across only for Palacio to balloon over from nine yards, but Juventus added a third goal to their tally. Fernando Llorente turned Juan Jesus in the box on a throw-in, Pogba’s attempt was beaten away by Handanovic, but Vidal followed it up. Ex-Torino winger Danilo D’Ambrosio made his Nerazzurri debut and Andrea Barzagli went off injured. Juve were showboating with Pogba’s marvellous piece of skill shaking off a marker, then Tevez smartly pushed the ball round Rolando while running the other side to meet it again. http://markting10.nl/ Inter got themselves back into the game with just under 20 minutes left. A corner was not dealt with and Rolando’s angled drive went through a sea of legs to settle into the far bottom corner. The visitors suddenly seemed revived and from another set play Palacio’s shot was charged down, while Tevez blasted over from a Pirlo assist. http://markting10.nl/ Palacio was not having a good night and turned a great opportunity over the bar from Diego Milito’s knockdown. Rolando got on the end of another corner, but aimed it straight at Storari. Antonio Conte surprisingly chose to introduce Mirko Vucinic against the club he very nearly joined. He almost scored in stoppages, as Tevez sent him clear and the finish was deflected off Rolando to hit the base of the upright. http://markting10.nl/ JUVENTUS: Storari; Barzagli (Caceres 63), Bonucci, Chiellini; Lichtsteiner (Isla 82), Vidal, Pirlo, Pogba, Asamoah; Tevez, Llorente (Vucinic 86) INTER: Handanovic; Campagnaro, Rolando, Juan Jesus; Jonathan (D’Ambrosio 59), Kuzmanovic (Milito 55), Kovacic (Botta 67), Taider, Nagatomo; Alvarez; Palacio Ref: Rocchi http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  21. JUVENTUS 3 - 1 INTER Stephan Lichtsteiner (16′) Giorgio Chiellini (47′) Arturo Vidal (56′) Rolando 72′ February 2, 2014 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Gianluca Rocchi Attendance:‬ 38000‎ Bianconeri extend lead at top after dominant Derby d'Italia display Juventus stretched their lead at the top of Serie A to nine points and inflicted more misery on Inter with a 3-1 Derby d'Italia victory. Feb 2, 2014 The champions' 12-game winning run in the league was ended when they were held at Lazio last weekend, but normal service was resumed as they maintained their 100 record at Juventus Stadium in the Italian top flight. http://markting10.nl/ Stephan Lichtsteiner opened the scoring in the first half and fellow defender Giorgio Chiellini doubled Juve's lead just after the break as Inter were made to pay for some awful defending. The visitors' team coach was pelted by stones on the way to the ground and their miserable day continued as Arturo Vidal made the most of some more terrible defending to add a third goal. Rolando pulled one back for Inter, but it was too little, too late. With Roma's clash against Parma earlier on Sunday abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch, Antonio Conte's side were able to increase their advantage at the summit. http://markting10.nl/ Inter, on the other hand, are without a win in six games in all competitions and now sit sixth. New signing Pablo Daniel Osvaldo was not deemed fit enough to make his Juve debut, but Andrea Pirlo was restored to the starting line-up. Marco Storari replaced the suspended Gianluigi Buffon in goal and defender Chiellini returned from his ban. The formalities for Hernanes' move from Lazio were not completed in time for the midfielder to make his Inter bow, but Danilo D'Ambrosio - another new recruit - was among the substitutes. http://markting10.nl/ Juve should have taken the lead inside the opening two minutes, but Carlos Tevez spurned the opportunity to end his five-game goal drought. Inter were caught napping when Paul Pogba headed the ball into the penalty area and Samir Handanovic came to their rescue by somehow keeping out Tevez's left-foot volley and then bravely denying the Argentina striker following up. The home side were in front just 15 minutes in, though, as Pirlo picked out Lichtsteiner and the unmarked defender guided a header into the far corner. http://markting10.nl/ Inter missed a glorious chance to level before the break when Rodrigo Palacio fired over the crossbar following a swift counter-attack. Conte's charges gave themselves breathing space just two minutes into the second half when the impressive Pogba headed on and Chiellini capitalised on some hesitant defending to fire home with his right foot from close range. Palacio's frustration continued when he blazed over the bar and he was again made to pay when more dreadful defending resulted in Vidal finishing with his left foot after the busy Handanovic had kept out Pogba's effort 10 minutes into the second half. http://markting10.nl/ D'Ambrosio came on to make his debut three minutes later and Rolando pulled a goal back with a strike through a crowded penalty area 18 minutes from time. Palacio still had time to waste another chance, heading over despite being unmarked, and Conte brought Mirko Vucinic on to face the club he looked set to join in a swap deal with Fredy Guarin, with the striker forcing a finger-tip save from Handanovic as Juve secured another win. http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  22. JUVENTUS - INTER February 2, 2014 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Gianluca Rocchi HT 1-0: Juve lead Derby d'Italia Feb 2, 2014 Stephan Lichtsteiner has given Juventus the half-time lead over Inter, inspired by Andrea Pirlo. http://markting10.nl/ The rivalry between these clubs escalated further this month when Inter suddenly terminated the exchange between Fredy Guarin and Mirko Vucinic. Within three minutes a corner fell to Carlos Tevez, forcing Samir Handanovic into a stunning double save from point-blank range, then Giorgio Chiellini fired over under pressure. The Inter defence was caught completely wrong-footed. http://markting10.nl/ Paul Pogba blasted over the bar and Kuzmanovic narrowly avoided an own goal from a corner, while Tevez fired straight at Handanovic after a promising counter-attack. Inter had a great chance to equalise on 40 minutes when Mateo Kovacic burst forward and threaded through for Rodrigo Palacio, but La Trenza’s finish was over the bar. Moments later Handanovic had his gloves stung by a Kwadwo Asamoah scorcher. The goalkeeper also kept out Giorgio Chiellini, though play had been stopped for a handling offence. http://markting10.nl/ Juventus 1-0 Inter (Half-Time) Scorers: Lichtsteiner 16 (J) JUVENTUS: Storari; Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini; Lichtsteiner, Vidal, Pirlo, Pogba, Asamoah; Tevez, Llorente INTER: Handanovic; Campagnaro, Rolando, Juan Jesus; Jonathan, Kuzmanovic, Kovacic, Taider, Nagatomo; Alvarez; Palacio Ref: Rocchi http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  23. JUVENTUS - INTER February 2, 2014 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Gianluca Rocchi Line-ups: Juventus-Inter Feb 2, 2014 Juventus take on Inter in the Derby d’Italia and an increasingly bitter grudge match. http://markting10.nl/ It kicks off in Turin at 20.45 CET. This fixture rolls around just 48 hours after the transfer window closed and the proposed exchange between Mirko Vucinic and Fredy Guarin collapsed. Inter calling that off when Vucinic had already emptied his locker infuriated the Bianconeri and Guarin is still not back in the squad. http://markting10.nl/ The Nerazzurri team bus was pelted with rocks and eggs on its way to the Juventus Stadium with one window cracked. Esteban Cambiasso is injured, so Mateo Kovacic gets a rare start in midfield with new signing Danilo D’Ambrosio ready to come off the bench. Ricky Alvarez supports striker Rodrigo Palacio with Jonathan and Yuto Nagatomo pushing down the flanks. http://markting10.nl/ Hernanes arrived on deadline day from Lazio in a €20m deal, but the bank clearance hasn’t gone through yet, so the Brazilian is unavailable. Juventus ended their 12-match winning streak in Serie A with a draw against Lazio, though that was achieved when down to 10 men for over an hour. Gianluigi Buffon saw red in that fixture and is therefore suspended, making way for Marco Storari. http://markting10.nl/ Andrea Pirlo returns from his rest and Giorgio Chiellini’s ban has expired, while Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente again lead the way. Daniel Osvaldo completed his loan move from Southampton on Friday, but is only in the stands tonight. Inter have not yet won a single game in 2014, as between Serie A and the Coppa Italia they amassed only two draws and three losses. http://markting10.nl/ JUVENTUS: Storari; Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini; Lichtsteiner, Vidal, Pirlo, Pogba, Asamoah; Tevez, Llorente Juventus bench: Rubinho, Vannucchi, Ogbonna, Caceres, Peluso, Padoin, Marchisio, Pepe, Isla, Vucinic, Giovinco INTER: Handanovic; Campagnaro, Rolando, Juan Jesus; Jonathan, Kuzmanovic, Kovacic, Taider, Nagatomo; Alvarez; Palacio Inter bench: Castellazzi, Carrizo, Zanetti, Andreolli, Icardi, Mudingayi, Botta, Milito, Ranocchia, Samuel, D’Ambrosio http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  24. JUVENTUS - INTER February 2, 2014 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Gianluca Rocchi Marotta on Guarin and Osvaldo Feb 2, 2014 Juventus gm Beppe Marotta tried to lower the tension with Inter ahead of tonight’s match and explained Daniel Osvaldo’s transfer. http://markting10.nl/ The rivalry between these clubs has only escalated after the failure this month of a swap deal between Fredy Guarin and Mirko Vucinic. “There was a verbal agreement with Inter, so we contacted him and discussed terms. That is how things usually progress. I’ve discussed this enough and want to take the tone to a calmer level ahead of this game,” Marotta told Sky Sport Italia. “In this case I felt it important to speak up because Inter named us in their statement and as the two people most damaged by the whole affair were Guarin and Vucinic. http://markting10.nl/ “Inter have made many changes this season and there are difficulties in that situation. The club is prestigious and the Coach talented, so I am sure they will get back to success soon. “Of course a different thing happened to us, as Antonio Conte was able to win the Scudetto in his first season, but that was down to the great work from the Coach and club.” There was trouble before the match, as Inter’s team bus was pelted with rocks on its way to the stadium. http://markting10.nl/ “I don’t know where it happened, but certainly not in the Stadium, so we couldn’t police that area. It’s a shame, of course the club condemns this behaviour. Unfortunately, it is a common problem, as our team bus has windows smashed once every other week. “We lowered the tension, welcomed the visiting directors in the warmest way and are sure it will be a great sporting event.” Marotta was also asked about Osvaldo, who arrived on loan from Southampton, but is not yet available to play. http://markting10.nl/ “We wanted to make the most of any opportunities. Osvaldo arrived on a free loan, so we didn’t pay a single penny, and the player drastically reduced his salary to help the move go through. There is an option to buy at the end of the season for €19m and we have these months to evaluate how he settles in, then can discuss whether there are the terms to sign him permanently. It’s premature to talk about it now. “Our objective was to raise the competition within the squad and the overall quality level. It is down to Conte to make his decisions game by game.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
  25. JUVENTUS - INTER February 2, 2014 - 8:45 PM Juventus Stadium — Turin Referee: Gianluca Rocchi Mazzarri on Inter bus scare Feb 2, 2014 Walter Mazzarri hopes “sport wins” in Juventus-Inter tonight after the team bus was attacked. http://markting10.nl/ Rocks were thrown at the Nerazzurri bus on its way to the Juventus Stadium, cracking a window. It's reported the perpetrator has been arrested. “I prefer to think about the game. Above all may sport win and we have a regular game on the pitch,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia. “Personally, these situations fire me up even more and I hope the players can go from the fear to using that emotion on the field. http://markting10.nl/ “We need a great game, to do something more than Juve and have good luck in the incidents, as you need that against anyone in Italy. We’ve seen often the result doesn’t reflect the performance.” The January transfer window proved damaging to Inter, as they signed Hernanes – who is unavailable due to delays in the bank guarantees – and can’t call on Fredy Guarin, as he is still ‘suffering’ after his move to Juventus collapsed. http://markting10.nl/ “Finally the market is over and from Tuesday we won’t have to talk about anything else, so I hope the players can follow me the same way they did at the start of the season. “I am curious to see some of the young players tonight and how they fare against the strongest team in Serie A. It will give me some good indications for the future.” http://www.goal.com/en/results-standings/69/italy-serie-a/table?ICID=SP_TN_111
